Esperanza Rising Book Report
The book Esperanza Rising, written by Pam Munoz Ryan is a historical fiction story about a girl
named Esperanza who once lived in Mexico. She was very rich until one day her father was killed
by infamous bandits. Soon, Esperanza s house was burned down, and the remaining members of the
family fled to United States. Although the characters may not all be real, the events reflect to the
time period, which is in the 1930s, during the Great Depression.
There are several main characters in this story Esperanza Rising. First of all, there is Esperanza,
a girl who faced many conflicts throughout the story. PaPa, Esperanza s father was generous,
however, later killed by bandits. Ramona, Esperanza s mother was very nice, but later became
very sick. Alfonso, Ramona s servant, brought Esperanza and MaMa to the United States.
Miguel, Ramona s servant and Alfonso s son, also went with Esperanza. One day, Miguel took
Esperanza s money and used it to bring Abuelita to America. Abuelita, Esperanza s grandma tried
to flee to the U.S. to have a better living away from the corrupt uncles. As I stated before
Esperanza Rising is a story about a girl named Esperanza who loved her land. As this book

Then, they traveled to U.S. leaving Abuelita in Mexico. After a while, MaMa got very sick. The
solution to the conflict is that she had the courage and pertinacity to face all the difficulties, such as
bringing MaMa to the hospital, praying for her, and saving money for Abuelita to come to America.
These obstacles made Esperanza stronger. In the end, Esperanza might not have money, but has

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Description of the Project
The Asterix field lies in 1,360 meters of water in the Norwegian North Sea on Block 6705/10 in PL
327B. The field is operated by Statoil, holding a 70% interest; Petoro holds 25%; and Norske Shell
the remaining 10% interest.
Drilled by the Transocean Leader, the 6705/10 1 well reached a vertical depth of 3,775 meters
below sea. The reservoir is located in Upper Cretaceous reservoir rocks, and found gas in rocks with
good reservoir properties.
Asterix will be considered for development together with Luva and the other nearby discoveries. In
addition, the configuration of Asterix, Haklang, Snefrid and other small discovery raises the
possibility of developing an infrastructure in the fields of Norway.
Statoil has found gas in Asterix, a small undeveloped gas discovery for which is developing custom
technology.
In addition, Asterix contain 16 billion cubic metres of recoverable gas

Social Oppression And Study
Over the course of my study, I expect to find thorough definitions of the daily oppression in the
lives of ethnic enclave members. I will then compare / contrast each experience with literature and
other findings. At the moment, I am unsure of the role of racism in the lives of these individuals,
yet I am sure it plays an extensive role in the oppression these individuals feel and face.
Theoretically I would like to bring in many social theories, as mentioned in the introduction, to
understand the construction of discriminationin perhaps of a way of epiphany as it is certainly a
mechanism of society. My informed hunches certainly contain thoughts that immigrants in the city,
especially with the recent presidential elections, will be under

Texas Government Essay
The government of the state of Texas is a difficult and complicated institution that is composed of
many different levels. The question comes in to everyone s mind at one time or another whether
or not to trust the government. It could be that people believe that the officials will take
advantage of their power, or simply people don t like the idea of being controlled by someone who
is not a family member or friend. To avoid this centralized power, the governmentis divided into
stages and this is a reasonable ground for trusting the government. Government runs this state and it
does deserve to be trusted. Our government here in Texashas three major parts that play a
significant part in our decision making process. These levels... Show more content on

If issues are brought about, or arguments are carried out, then the Conference Committees are
there to resolve these differences. The most common Governmental figure in Texas is the
Governor. This power is nothing more than that of a celebrity status. Although the Governor has
the power to appoint independent boards and commissions, the senate has to confirm these
appointments. This is called senatorial courtesy What is meant when this job is more like a
celebrity is because of the GovernorВ‘s ceremonial roles as acting as Chief of State. This
increases the GovernorВ‘s popularity and prestige, and broadens the image of the office. One
important power or role that the Governor is responsible for is coordinating relations between
Texas and other states. This can definitely be an important factor. For example, the need of federal
aid during the time of an emergency can require the help of other states. The Governor also acts as
the Chief Budget officer of the state. Even though the presiding officer presides over this office, the
Governor does have some control. This is a very effective example of a good trustworthy system.
The last thing that is to be discussed concerns that of the Texas Buearocracy As to the point of
trusting the government, this institution takes the cake. It is

Persuasive Essay On International Adoption
In today s society, the idea of adoption is an open and welcome one. When an adoptive family
begins to explore the idea of adopting a child, it is easy for them to quickly become overwhelmed
with information, questions and decisions (American Adoptions, Inc). However, one of the biggest
problem most adoptive parents could run into is whether they are wanting to adopt domestically or
internationally. With the number of celebrities advertising the ease of adopting internationally and
the publicizing conditions the orphans live in it makes American families want to adopt
internationally. The number of children in the United States in foster care approved for adoptionand
the number of newborns born unwanted does not make the news so it domestic adoption is not as
glamorous. Domestic adoption should be the first choice to help improve our country and give the
children born in the United States a chance at a family.
In recent years international adoption has been presented as an easier and quicker adoption
process. The process is not as easy as it seems and some countries forbid adoption of their children
to families in the United States. When adopting from a different country a person must be in
agreement with adopting different ethnic or racial groups. Depending upon the country from which
you adopt, international adoption can be very costly, ranging anywhere between $32,000 to
$66,000 dollars, depending on the child s country of origin. Travel costs to the country

Personal Narrative At Plastics And Hand Surgical Associates
For my clinicals at Plastics and Hand Surgical Associates last Tuesday I was able to perform a
variety of tasks and meet another one of the other working physicians. The tasks I performed were
the following: taking patient s BP, filling syringes with Botox, filling a syringe with a combination
of different medications for arthritis, filling syringes for a few trigger fingersand I was able to bring
a sample down to pathology and have it biopsied.
The doctor I met was Dr. Maddali. Dr. Maddali is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He
is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and serves as Clinical Instructor at Maine Medical
Center for Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Maddali graduated magna cum laude from
Brown University and received his MD with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from Cornell University
Medical College. Suffice to say he, along with all of the other doctors I ve meet are very impressive
physicians.
Jenny, was one of the nurses I was with Tuesday. There wasn t very much going on in terms of
exciting learning experiences, so Jenny let me pop around with the other nurses to see the best
patents. The first patient I saw was a trigger finger patient of Dr. Kutz. She was an elderly woman
and her left pinky was stuck at about 20 degrees. Even with force she was unable to comfortably
extend her pinky. Dr. Kutz spoke with her about her options for

Pro Life Vs. Pro-Choice
In today s society, there is a huge discussion called, Pro Life vs Pro Choice . This debate is
essentially over whether a woman should have the right to do what she wishes to her body. The
majority of all abortion procedures are within the first trimester of pregnancy. This means there is
no harm done to the fetus because it is only in the first stages of its growth. It is a known fact that
if politicians pass laws against abortions, it will not stop the procedures from happening. If
anything, it will increase the number of deaths in women due to illegal and unsanitary abortions.
In 1973, there was a case that went to the Supreme Court called Roe v. Wade. In the case, it was
ruled that the Fourteenth Amendment gave women the fundamental

Importance Of The Fifth Amendment
The fifth Amendment Everyday, people wait in a courtroom for a verdict by the grand jury. Once
the jury determines the verdict, the person being tried is not allowed to be tried again without new
evidence. The concept above, is used and enforced in the courts through the fifth amendment. The
fifth amendment is an important amendment because it ensures due process of law, free from self
incrimination, free from double jeopardy, indicted by a grand jury, and the government has the right
of eminent domain (Froseth). The fifth amendment has many parts to it. Each part helps society
function. One case that made the fifth amendment important was Miranda Vs. Arizona. In Miranda
Vs. Arizona, a man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested and brought to jail. While in jail,
Miranda was forced to speak against himself. During this time, Miranda was not read his rights
making him believe that the his fifth amendment right was violated. Miranda brought his case to
the supreme court where it ruled in his favor. The court decided that the fifth amendment of self
incrimination was violated and that police officers are required to tell suspects that they have
certain rights while being questioned and arrested. (Miranda). This case changed American history.
Every police officer now needs to tell everyone in custody you have the right to remain silent,
anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law... (Miranda Rights). Because
Miranda brought this case to the courts,

Rousseau Quotes
Firstly to start with this literary analysis is where the boys originate from, as in Rousseau s
philosophy he prompts that, Man is free, but everywhere he is chained . The part in which the
boys are chained to , is where they had grown up from and was influenced mainly. Golding gives
us the smallest hint from the boys on where they are from and that is from Jack who comments,
...We re English, and the English are best at everything. So we ve got to do the right thing.
(Golding 42). Ultimately, Jack s comment is not only biased as to one would expect from someone
who is proud of their country, but also showing that the boys have an expectation for their country.
With this kind of thought, this is the only start of proving Rousseau s philosophy.

Understanding The Importance Of Corporate Communication
1.0 Understanding the Importance of Corporate Communication:
The companies and the organizations communicate through different kinds of channels. All these
are defined under corporate communication. Every single types of communication are important for
the organization. But before discussing the importance we have to know what corporate
communication is. Corporate communication is a combination of different types of activities that are
involved to establish a favorable relation between the stakeholder and the organization. It is very
important to make the communication understandable and reliable to the stakeholders so that the
massage is delivered can serve the purpose of both parties organization and stakeholders.
According to Richard R. Dolphin corporate communication is not a technique rather than an
approach (The Fundamentals of Corporate Communication, 2009). He stated that the total process
of corporate communication has set into a management discipline. He also mentioned that the
corporate communication is a process that helps an organization to maintain the consistency of
massages that are used for corporate communication and at the same time to ensure the transparency
of that massages.
It is very difficult to define corporate communication in a single sentence because of the broad area
covered by corporate communication. It is a set of different kinds of formal and informal
communication, like management communication, marketing communication, organizational

The United Nations ( Un )
Stephen D. Krasner, defined International Regimes as Implicit or explicit principles, norms, rules
and decision making procedures around which actors expectations converge in a given area of
international relations. International regimes have the ability to change the nature of state
interactions as well as providing solutions to intra state wars. An international regimes ability to do
this varies based on several different factors. These factors are influenced by the regimes foreign
policyand their standing in the international community, as well as binding international treaties,
such as NATO and the EU. A regimes military strength can also play a role in their ability to
influence their ability to change the nature of states interactions, as well as provide a solution to
intra state wars. The United Nations(UN) also plays a crucial role in the communication between
states. The most powerful nations within the UN arguably have the greater capacity to command a
strong global presence and have greater ability to interact and affect outcomes in intra state wars.
The main international body with the ability to change the nature of states interactions and provide
solutions to intra state wars is the UN, more specifically the UN Security Council. Countries that
have disagreements usually discuss the issues within the UN, and the matter is discussed by all
member states with the aim of finding a resolution that both states can agree on. However the UN

They say bull riding is the most dangerous sport on dirt. In a lot of ways they are right a lot of
people are injured and even killed. In bull riding they say its not if you get hurt its when and how
bad. Bull riding has been around for a long time for a few hundred years. Bull riding is an exciting
and an adrenaline pumping sport because of the history of bull riding, the way you are scored,
and the safety of the rider and the bull. Bull riding has a long rich history, it can be traced back
all the way to the early 1800 s. Cowboys would get together and have contests in things they
normally do on a ranch like roping and trying to break horses, but you didn t have to get on the

A bull rider s basic gear he uses is a helmet, vest, rope, bell, and chaps. The helmet and vest are
used for protection, the rope is what you tie on the bull and what you use to hang on with, the
bell goes on the bottom of the rope so when you fall off the rope does to ita also agitates the bull
and makes him buck harder, and the chaps are just for looks. In bull riding to even be scored
you must stay on for 8 seconds, which is a lot harder than it may seem. People think well its only
8 seconds how hard can that be well there is one thing you have to keep in mind you are getting
strapped on to 2,000 pounds of pure muscle that wants you off it s back so yeah its alot harder
than it seems. In bull riding half of your score comes from how well you demonstrate control and
correct body position as you matche the movements of the bull without losing his seat and the
other comes from how rank the bull is rank is how hard the bull is to ride. If you manage to spur
the bull during your quick ride then you could be awarded extra points. If at any time you touch
the bull with your free hand you are automatically disqualified. You are scored by four judges
two of the judges score your performance from 1 25 the other two score the bull on how hard he
was to ride from 1 25 then they all all the scores up and that s your score and, the maximum score
you can get is 100 being a perfect ride. Only one man in

Research Paper On Hassan Al-Wazzan
Hassan al Wazzan, known as Leo the African in the West, is an unusual character. Born in
Granada in December 1488, the man is indeed spectator of many great events that shaped his
world. His era is one of the great upheavals: the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. Islam
moves east: the fall of Granada and the end of the last Muslim kingdom in Andalusia marks the
victory of the Catholic reconquista and the end of Islamic influence in Western Europe. But the
Turks have just taken Constantinople, ending the last Roman Empire, and already a new Empire,
powerful, huge, destructive, carries the banner of Islam: the Ottoman Empire, ruled by sultans to
unlimited power. In the west, Charles of Habsburg, said Charles V governs Castile, Aragon,... Show

Understanding Autism Syndrome Disorders Essay
Autism is a behavioral syndrome usually presenting behavior abnormalities before the child is thirty
months of age. These behavioral abnormalities include marked social deficits, specific language
abnormalities and stereotyped, receptive behaviors. Although the exact etiology of autism is not
known it is now believed that it is a dysfunction of one or more unidentified brain systems and not
the result of parental and environmental influences. Variations in symptomology and in prognosis
among autistic persons depend on both the severity and the extent of the underlying brain
dysfunction (Parritz, Troy 136). Several studies have been conducted including neuron anatomic
imaging, microscopic neuroanatomic observations and positron emission... Show more content on

It is expected that children with autism will struggle with establishing and maintain compensating
relationships. Only half of children with autism who are in comprehensive classrooms are
involved in the social networks of their classrooms. It s very difficult for children with autism to
be in a classroom with children who don t have a disorder. Children with this sickness can t
function just like everyone else; they need attentive care and affection. Children with autism are
more likely to be isolated across all grade levels because, when they are in a room with too many
people it gets overwhelming to him or her and we as a parent, peer, or teacher have to be
understanding about that. The older he or she becomes with this sickness, the more isolate they
become. However difficult interactions like friendship and relationships can be clear that the child
and adolescents desire connections with others. Sadly there is no cure for autism spectrum disorder
but there are multiple therapies. The most popular therapy is called ABA training. This is the most
widely accepted autism therapy. ABA is based on the idea that people are more likely to repeat
behaviors that are rewarded than behaviors that are not recognized or are ignored. A trained
therapist conducts ABA training. The treatment begins with an assessment by the therapist. The
purpose of the assessment is to determine which skills the child already

The Simulation Design Score Affects The Participant...
Vanessa Schott Written Comprehensive Exam 1.???????What is the goal of ordinary least
squares (OLS) regression? (OLS is the formal name of the typical kind of regression analysis)
The goal of ordinary least squares (OLS) regression is to best predict one variable?s behavior
against another. For example, I would like to predict a participant?s Clinical Judgment Score
against the simulation?s Simulation Design Score. My research question is Does the Simulation
Design Score affect the participant Clinical Judgment Score? My hypothesis is that as the
Simulation Design Score increases the participant?s Clinical Judgment Score will also increase.
Therefore concluding the better the design of the simulation experience the better the participant
will learn clinical judgement skills. If the variables are positively correlated, as the Simulation
Design Scores increases the participants? Clinical Judgment Scores will increase. If the variables
are negatively correlated, as the Simulation Design Scores increase the participants? Clinical
Judgment Scores would decrease. If Clinical Judgment Scores do not react consistently in relation
to Simulation Design Scores, they are either non linear or are not correlated. 2.???????How does
regression work (statistically, what happens when you perform a regression)? To continue my
hypothetical research question: I would run a simulation and afterwards each participant would
evaluate the simulation using the Simulation Design Scale. Next

Should Athletes Use Performance Enhancing Drugs Essay
Should Athletes be able to use Performance Enhancing drugs? Shirley Babashoff, is a female
swimmer who participated in The 1976 Montreal Summer Olympic Games. She had won seven
gold medals in total at the end of the games, but she was denied all seven of them as a result of a
government sponsored doping program. Consequently, she is in one of the worst clubs nobody
would want to be in: athletes who were denied a medal at all because they got caught doping. It is
important to make sure kids are looking up to these athletes as role models and not doing the
wrong things. The health risks behind the drugs could possibly be anywhere from a cramp to a
heart attack. Using performance enhancing drugs makes the game unfair and it kills the integrity of
the game. Athletes in all levels of play should not be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs,
they will affect the long term health of the player, damages the integrity and fairness of the game,
and endangers others associated with the person who uses them. Anabolic steroids are artificial

China s One Child Policy Essay

people. China resides as the world s leading populated country with more than 1.3 billion people.
Because, of this over population it maintained fears of their food, resources, and living spaces

their growing population. The one child policy has prevailed effectively in slowing down the
population growth, but it has caused great anguish among Chinese families.

Casting Defects and their influence on property
Shivam Gupta and Somesh Mohapatra
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department,
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee
Abstract
Casting is one of the major metallurgical operations carried out in the manufacturing industry.
Given the large scale of operations, the number of defects in the process also goes up with the
development of the time and methods of the processing. Although, we have managed to cover up
for the defects in the procedure, yet the remnants pose a huge problem. Now, every property
attributes its relations to the casting process and the correlation of the defect in the microstructure,
ductility, machinability, etc. all trace their reasons back to the type of casting or the defect
associated with it. In the present study, we have tried to analyze two main types of defects mainly,
filling and thermal defects, with their sub types along with the causes, effects on the properties and
remedies.
Keywords: Casting Defects; Filling Defects; Thermal Defects.
1. Introduction
Casting is a process of manufacturing where the liquid material is poured into a mould and let to
solidify over a period of time [1 5]. This process has major implications in the manufacturing
industry and several operations are heavily dependent on this. It is of utmost importance that the
process of casting is understood in depth and the processing is carried out with

Ecological Impact Of Fur Trade On American Culture
When the Europeans visitors started coming to North America they hoped to find vast amounts of
gold and silver, but they found something else, which proved to be just as valuable as furs. The
ecological impact of the fur trade on the Indians of the North America demonstrates that the Indians
were not the beneficiaries, but the victims in fur tradewith all the other Europeans countries which
affected them socially, environmentally and economically. French and the English fisherman in
1500 s were the first to purchase fur from the Indians, in exchange the Indians received European
manufactured goods such as knives, guns and steel blades, for example according to the text
Indigenous Peoples of the Arctic, Subarctic, and Northwest Coast. Ed said, That could be fitted to
traditional adzes to cut more efficiently than stone or shell blades, yet initially spurned axe and
hatchet blades because these required a drastic change in motor habits and coordination patterns. 1
Many fishermen abandoned fishing and made voyages to North Americaonly to trade fur. At this
time none of the Europeans nor Frenchmen resided in Canada or along the Northeast coast of North
America, they simply traded and went back... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the 1750 s almost every Indian man in the Great Lakes region owned a rifle, and Indian women
relied almost completely on other utensils. Most Indians wear clothes manufactured in Europe
rather than leather or fur. During summer, they lived in small villages which often consisted of
several hundred people. In these villages, they gathered fish and grew crops for food. In the winter,
these villages would split up in to small hunting bands. Furthermore Indians started their hunts
earlier in the winter, and focused on animals which produced valuable pelts and they migrated
farther way from the villages.

INTRODUCTION
Motivation is the inner power or energy that pushes one towards performing a certain action.
Motivation strengthens the ambition, increases initiative and gives direction, courage, energy and
the persistence to follow one s goals. Motivation is usually strong, when one has a vision, a clear
mental image of a certain situation or achievement, faith in one s abilities and also a strong desire
to materialize it. In this case motivation pushes one forward, toward taking action and making the
vision a reality. Motivation, in its broadest sense, can be defined as forces acting either on or
within a person to initiate behaviour. It s what gets you going. And in the

The Brian Clark Case
According to the above petition filed on January 5, 2017, by Officer K. A. Tennyson, the
following occurred at Deep Creek High School (2900 Margaret Booker Drive) in the city of
Chesapeake, Virginia.
Brian Clark was instigating Patrick Raymond to fight him. About 5 minutes later, Brian told
Patrick that he was using his phone to record Patrick on live Facebook. Patrick asked Brian to
prove to him that he was recording him by showing him his phone and when Brian put his phone
to Patrick s face Patrick grabbed the phone to turn it off. Brian had earphones in his ear
connected to his phone when Patrick grabbed it, causing him to fall out of his seat. Brian then
stood up, walked up to Patrick and punched him in the face. Brian then began to choke Patrick
before slamming him to the ground. As Patrick was on the ground covering his head, he
received numerous punches to his face, ear, and also a kick to his upper chest before another
student stepped in to break up the altercation. Patrick suffered bruises and swelling to his face as
a result of the assault. Officer Tennyson was made aware of a video that displayed the assault that

The Effects Of Music Programs On Students
The Knowledge of reading music, and playing an instrument has proven to be beneficial to the
learning curb in students including those of little to no background in a literary education to
students in college. However, there are schools in America where music isn t offered. Having a
music program could create improved grades, memory, concentration, and quicken the learning
process of literacy, but it is believed that musicisn t for everybody. Many parents and
administrators believe that music is just a waste of time and doesn t help a student academically.
It has been stated and shown in media of all sorts that music doesn t help kids academically and is
only a distraction with potentially harmful effects. For example, in John McDaniel s words on the
negative effects of music in school,: Music programs in school can promote competition and rivalry
among peers. In most music programs, students compete for certain positions and chairs, and they
must practice and oust their peers in order to climb the ranks in the section. This can lead to bad
feelings and competitive values among young children, which can be harmful to their future
development.
It is understood why this has been stressed against music in schools. However, it is faulty. Other
beliefs are that it does more harm than good because it affects grades negatively . In the words of
John McDaniel, They claim that students will spend too much time on practicing, trips and
performances, which will affect

William Faulkner was Born in New Albany, Mississippi on September 25, 1897 to Murry and

Mammy . Barr was one of the most influential people in his life. She was fundamental to his
development in his early years. He said later on that it was a privilege to have known her and
that she was the one who taught him right from wrong and sparked his interest in the politics of
sexuality and race. Faulkner s grandfather was also a writer. William Clark Falkner, often called

Essay On Social Media And Self Esteem
Whether you are thin or curvy, tall or short, young or old, everyone has been unhappy with how
they look at one point in their lives. This is especially seen in teens and young adults, who are
transitioning into a new phase of life. While we have much better therapy and the topic of self
confidence and self worth is talked about more openly than it ever has been before, we still
struggle with ourselves. Why? One reason could be our phones. The entire world is at our beck
and call. Every Instagram post or YouTube video we see, we compare ourselves whether we try
to or not. While social media itself does not cause low self esteem, it has every characteristic
necessary in order to do so. In an article by the Dove Self Esteem Project and Parent Zone
corporation, the words of Claire Mysko are quoted: Social media creates an environment where
disordered thoughts and behaviors really thrive [...] and [social media, while giving young girls
the validation they want] also serves as a catalyst for more insecurity. The topic of self love is
not talked about as much as it should. While it is a more open topic than it has ever been before,
social media really is not helping improve the way we view ourselves, because there is always a
more muscular, thin, tan, beautiful person on the internet. As social media and technology become
a larger and larger part of everyday life, so does the way we think about ourselves. An article
written by Caroline Knorr, a writer for CNN, states that 35

and songwriter, Kendrick Lamar, in his influential performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards
while singing Blacker the Berry off his 11 time nominated album To Pimp a Butterfly, recounts
issues of racism in society, however, conveys a deeper meaning of hypocrisy towards the end of
the song. In this essay, I will be doing a contextual analysis of Kendrick Lamar s 2016 Grammy
performance. I argue the significant meaning throughout Lamar s performance, then I go outside
the event and describe events in the outside world that related or could have perhaps provoked
him to decide to perform those particular songs and I ll conclude by examining how those outside
events could potentially alter our perception of the performance and the importance of knowing
that information. The message Kendrick is trying to convey are very blunt and explicit
throughout the entire song. Or try to celebrate February like it s my B day (Lamar 2016), shows
his use of metaphorical language and imagery to portrays his frustrated attitude towards current
racial views in America. Born in Compton, Kendrick Lamar delivered a performance at the 2016

Douglass MacArthur was born in 1880 at the Little Rock Barracks in Arkansas to his father
Arthur MacArthur and his Mother Mary Pinkney Hardy MacArthur. His father Arthur
MacArthur was a United States Army captain. Being born in a Barracks, Douglas MacArthur
said that it was here I learned to ride and shoot even before I could read or write indeed, almost
before I could walk or talk . Being raised there was the first of many times Douglas MacArthur
would ride and shoot a gun. In the year 1893, his family moved to San Antonio and at 13 years
old, Douglas MacArthur attended West Texas military academy and there he began to show
academic promise After he graduated from the Military Academy, MacArthur enrolled at West
Point and in the year 1903 MacArthur graduated from West Point at the top of his class. As soon

Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects On The...
The effects of acid rain greatly affect the environment. Some lakes become so acidic fish cannot
survive in them. The degradation of minerals present in soil produces metal ions. These are
subsequently washed away, causing the release of toxic substances, such as Al3+, into the water
supply. This also causes the loss of important minerals, such as Ca2+, from the soil, killing trees
and crops. Long term effects from global warming include landslides and increased seismic and
volcanic activities, due to land no longer being depressed by the weight of ice. Tsunamis could
also be generated, landslides caused by warmer ocean water thawing ocean floor permafrost or
releasing gas hydrates. Some world regions already show an increase in landslides, such as the
French Alps.
Humphry Davy first successfully introduced the concept of a fuel cell in the 19th century. This
was followed by by the scientist Christian Friedrich Schönbein, who made work on what were to
become fuel cells in 1838. William Grove, a chemist, physicist and lawyer, widely known for
basically inventing the fuel cell in 1839. Grove conducted experiments with a gas voltaic battery,
proving that electrictricity could be produced from an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen
and oxygen over a platinum catalyst. With the 1970s came the emergence of environmental
awareness amongst governments, prompted by concerns over air pollution. From this, clean air
legislation was passed in America and Europe. Clean air and

Culture Shock Essay
Everyone has had a culture shock in their lifetime. Culture shock does not only occur overseas
when traveling to another country to visit or to live, but it could also be in a new state or a new
city, at a new school or workplace, among new extended family members, or being in any new
environment. According to Condon and Yousef (2017), Culture Shock is a multifaceted
experience resulting from the stress associated with entering a new culture (Condon Yousef, 2017,
pg. 403). Everyone adapts in a different way to a new life and a new beginning, and it could be
hard at first before anyone can get use to it. I will explain the circumstances surrounding the new
culture and the reason for my trip/experience, the stages of culture shock present in my experience
of the new culture, how I coped with the culture shock, and how I might cope with the culture shock
in a healthier way in the future.

Siella Kingdom
1. I believe one of the most important factor that contributed to Silla s unification of the Three
Kingdom is their strength and their allies. Even though the title is Three Kingdoms, there were
several smaller states which included the Kaya and Puyo. According to page 30 of A History of
Korea , the Kaya states were quite wealthy as they took an active role in commerce and iron
production. However, they failed to become a larger kingdom which made it easier for the Silla
to take over. As for Puyo, they disappeared even earlier. The main three kingdoms were Silla,
Koguryo, and Paekche. On page 28 29, Seth implies that Koguryo was a powerful kingdom that
often took over nearby cities. In 660, the Tang were frustrated by the power of the Koguryo, and

After defeating Paekche, the Tang went after Koguryo and defeated them. They offered Silla to
become a powerful territory of China, but the Silla refused. Instead, they took over the Chinese
controlled land! They were able to defeat the Tang and gain control of many territories (page 44
45). What made Silla so powerful? According to page 39, they relied on their social and political
systems. Their systems includes bone rank system, the Hwabaek, and hwarang. They were also
other factors that contributed to the unification of the Three Kingdoms by Silla. On page 55, Seth
states that the political and military structure provided a stable and effective government, which
carried the country s expansion. They also had long prosperity, strong economic base, and ways
to support their huge military. The geography also played an important part. Koguryo was dealing
with wars on the northwestern and southern boundaries while Paekche s weak spot to Koguryo
was the north. It was also weak against Silla in the south and China from the sea. Silla was in the
southeast corner and had easier boundaries to defeat. It was also out of reach from direct assault

The Documentary Film Outfoxed
To begin with, Outfoxed is a documentary film that came into being as a result of the progressive
and continuous work of the Filmmakerright, that is, the wing views. It clearly documents the fact
that Fox News has continually engaged in what amounts to consumer fraud by extensively airing
bias ideas of the conservatives. This contravenes the right of the people to be informed in a
balanced perspective. Importantly, the film gives detailed review and examination of the growth
and expansion of Murdoch s mediaempire; it does this by looking at the pros and cons of having
media ownership in the hands of few individuals like Murdoch. Critically, the film argues that
putting media ownership in the hands of an individual is disastrous as it is likely

The Lakota Way By Joseph Marshall
In his story The Lakota Way; Joseph Marshall III adequately convinces the reader to persevere
through a series of stories that allows the reader to develop a personal connection with
characters. Marshall achieves this by informing the reader and using formal diction. This allows
his readers to experience how perseverance can have a positive impact on one s life. Marshall
teaches us that Perseverance represents a quality in human beings that allows us to be steadfast
despite the difficulty. In the folk tale The Story of the Giant, perseverance is abundant; Marshall
utilizes the skill of teaching to persuade his audience to persevere through the story. Marshall s
unique way of writing allows the reader to take lessons from a story and influence them to use it
in their own lives. From lya the giant terrorizing people to Indians having to leave their land
because of the government to Marshall s grandfather s stories of hardship, Marshall shows his
audience how the Native Americans have always had it rough but more importantly how they
persevered. In The Story of the Giant: a monster by the name lya attacks a village full of Native
Americans. During the attack, Cloud s wife Plum was taken away from him and she was eaten by
the monster. After that traumatic experience, Cloud and a few other young men put together a plan
to capture Iya. Cloud and the group of men followed Iya s footprints eastward armed with lances,

The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise...
The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction
Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while
exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of
sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the
unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction.
The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting
consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007).
Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling
withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of
individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise
addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar
levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The
individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is
resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest.
The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise
addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal
conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005).

The Legalization Of Prostitution And Prostitution
Regardless if the decriminalization of prostitution helps, there will still be a heavy demand for it.
One of the biggest industries in the world has it entrapped, which is the sex based human
trafficking. According to the International Labor Organization, human trafficking generates around
$150 Billion per year. And Two thirds of this money ($99billion) comes from commercial sex
exploitation. But at the same time there is in fact evidence out there, that displays legalizing
prostitutionreduces sex trafficking. In 2001, Germany legalized paid sex. Thus over the course of
10 years, instances of sex based human trafficking decreased by 10 percent within the country. In
order to combat the sex trafficking business, we need to open up more waves of supporting
communication, to expose different traffickers, and we cannot do that while prostitution remains
illegal. Proponents claimed that the promotion legalized sex, increases the chances of an open sex
market. Since other countries have a legalized prostitution they, have seen a mild increase in human
trafficking. They argue legalizing prostitution may be legalizing the prostitution industry as a
whole. In addition, some say when decriminalize sex workers, you also decriminalize the pimps,
and the brothels. Although they do show increases, the planned legislative process I am promoting,
would prohibited the pimps (or johns) to earn a stationary living on the earnings of any sex worker.

The Theory Of Organizational Change
Literature Synthesis The idea of change can alarm any system and lead to unexpected reactions
from the members associated with the system. As the change begins to be implemented, these
uncertainties intensify and can lead to crisis. This phenomenon becomes even more crucial when
the system involves an organization with leaders and those members with non managerial
responsibilities. When change is being implemented within an organization by its leaders, the
consequences of it can be underestimated or ignored by them, resulting in crises and, eventually,
failure of the change efforts. In order for change to succeed, specifically in today s business world,
where organizations are constantly undergoing change at a fast rate, companies should educate
their employees in understanding and supporting change. Taking both organizational and employee
perspectives into account, Armenakis and Bedeian (1999) have reviewed major research
publications on the theory of organizational change from 1987 to 1999. To set a basis for selecting
from the vast number of the available material, their study was concentrated on those researches
focusing on the fundamentals of organizational change dynamics. The researchers acknowledge the
effect of the extent of their resource selection on the literature review outcome, stating that their
choice of subject area will provide a deeper understanding of the existing approaches governing
organizational change. In order to make their research manageable,

Psychoopathology Of Child Sexual Abuse
The research put forth by Rind et al (1998), while obviously controversial, was delving into other
variables that could be correlated to the severity of psychopathology of victims that experienced
child sexual abuse. While child sexual abuse is a very sensitive subject, I think this research has
benefited the conversation of CSA. There are multiple variables that cause a person s
psychopathology and to blame the mental disorders on strictly one event or multiple events of the
same acts is in my opinion naive. In many cases I think that CSA have a major impact on victims
but as the research suggests, there are multiple factors that correlate to the psychopathology of
victims. One that Rind et al (1998) did not research was the resilience of... Show more content on

Dallam et al (2001) critiqued the sample population of college students, I understand their
critique, that it may exclude the most severely affected, but that was the whole point of the
research put forth by Rind et al (1998), that someone can be severely affected in a clinical
definition of the terms but their psychopathology may not be severe. I think that Rind et al
(1998) were trying to figure out why some people are impacted more severely psychologically
where other victims are more resilient. Dallam et al (2001) critiques the clearly impossible
standard to have one definition of abuse and Rind et al s over inclusion of the definitions. I
think Rind et al (1998) had reason to over include because to leave out one definition of abuse
would be neglectful. Therefore by researching all definitions of abuse, you can find correlations
with the 18 different psychological categories and CSA that Rind et al (1998) had used within
their study. The research by Rind et al (1998) was controversial because it was a very complex
subject to analyze. I do agree that there should be more studies completed in a different population
to look into severity of subjects that may have been exposed to more

I will then compare / contrast each experience with literature and other findings. At the moment, I am unsure of the role of racism in the lives of these individuals, yet I am sure it plays an extensive role in the oppression these individuals feel and face. Theoretically I would like to bring in many social theories, as mentioned in the introduction, to understand the construction of discriminationin perhaps of a way of epiphany as it is certainly a mechanism of society. • 6. Texas Government Essay The government of the state of Texas is a difficult and complicated institution that is composed of many different levels. The question comes in to everyone s mind at one time or another whether or not to trust the government. It could be that people believe that the officials will take advantage of their power, or simply people don t like the idea of being controlled by someone who is not a family member or friend. To avoid this centralized power, the governmentis divided into stages and this is a reasonable ground for trusting the government. Government runs this state and it does deserve to be trusted. If issues are brought about, or arguments are carried out, then the Conference Committees are there to resolve these differences. The most common Governmental figure in Texas is the Governor. This power is nothing more than that of a celebrity status. Although the Governor has the power to appoint independent boards and commissions, the senate has to confirm these appointments. This is called senatorial courtesy What is meant when this job is more like a celebrity is because of the GovernorВ‘s ceremonial roles as acting as Chief of State. This increases the GovernorВ‘s popularity and prestige, and broadens the image of the office. One important power or role that the Governor is responsible for is coordinating relations between Texas and other states. This can definitely be an important factor. For example, the need of federal aid during the time of an emergency can require the help of other states. The Governor also acts as the Chief Budget officer of the state. Even though the presiding officer presides over this office, the Governor does have some control. This is a very effective example of a good trustworthy system. • 7. Persuasive Essay On International Adoption In today s society, the idea of adoption is an open and welcome one. When an adoptive family begins to explore the idea of adopting a child, it is easy for them to quickly become overwhelmed with information, questions and decisions (American Adoptions, Inc). However, one of the biggest problem most adoptive parents could run into is whether they are wanting to adopt domestically or internationally. With the number of celebrities advertising the ease of adopting internationally and the publicizing conditions the orphans live in it makes American families want to adopt internationally. The number of children in the United States in foster care approved for adoptionand the number of newborns born unwanted does not make the news so it domestic adoption is not as glamorous. Domestic adoption should be the first choice to help improve our country and give the children born in the United States a chance at a family. In recent years international adoption has been presented as an easier and quicker adoption process. The process is not as easy as it seems and some countries forbid adoption of their children to families in the United States. When adopting from a different country a person must be in agreement with adopting different ethnic or racial groups. Depending upon the country from which you adopt, international adoption can be very costly, ranging anywhere between $32,000 to $66,000 dollars, depending on the child s country of origin. He is on the teaching faculty of the Lahey Clinic and serves as Clinical Instructor at Maine Medical Center for Tufts University School of Medicine. This means there is no harm done to the fetus because it is only in the first stages of its growth. Once the jury determines the verdict, the person being tried is not allowed to be tried again without new evidence. The concept above, is used and enforced in the courts through the fifth amendment. The fifth amendment is an important amendment because it ensures due process of law, free from self incrimination, free from double jeopardy, indicted by a grand jury, and the government has the right of eminent domain (Froseth). The fifth amendment has many parts to it. Each part helps society function. One case that made the fifth amendment important was Miranda Vs. Arizona. In Miranda Vs. Arizona, a man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested and brought to jail. While in jail, Miranda was forced to speak against himself. During this time, Miranda was not read his rights making him believe that the his fifth amendment right was violated. Miranda brought his case to the supreme court where it ruled in his favor. The court decided that the fifth amendment of self incrimination was violated and that police officers are required to tell suspects that they have certain rights while being questioned and arrested. • 11. Rousseau Quotes Firstly to start with this literary analysis is where the boys originate from, as in Rousseau s philosophy he prompts that, Man is free, but everywhere he is chained . The part in which the boys are chained to , is where they had grown up from and was influenced mainly. Golding gives us the smallest hint from the boys on where they are from and that is from Jack who comments, ...We re English, and the English are best at everything. • 13. The United Nations ( Un ) Stephen D. Krasner, defined International Regimes as Implicit or explicit principles, norms, rules and decision making procedures around which actors expectations converge in a given area of international relations. International regimes have the ability to change the nature of state interactions as well as providing solutions to intra state wars. An international regimes ability to do this varies based on several different factors. These factors are influenced by the regimes foreign policyand their standing in the international community, as well as binding international treaties, such as NATO and the EU. A regimes military strength can also play a role in their ability to influence their ability to change the nature of states interactions, as well as provide a solution to intra state wars. The United Nations(UN) also plays a crucial role in the communication between states. The most powerful nations within the UN arguably have the greater capacity to command a strong global presence and have greater ability to interact and affect outcomes in intra state wars. The main international body with the ability to change the nature of states interactions and provide solutions to intra state wars is the UN, more specifically the UN Security Council. Children with this sickness can t function just like everyone else; they need attentive care and affection. Children with autism are more likely to be isolated across all grade levels because, when they are in a room with too many people it gets overwhelming to him or her and we as a parent, peer, or teacher have to be understanding about that. My research question is Does the Simulation Design Score affect the participant Clinical Judgment Score? My hypothesis is that as the Simulation Design Score increases the participant?s Clinical Judgment Score will also increase. Therefore concluding the better the design of the simulation experience the better the participant will learn clinical judgement skills. If the variables are positively correlated, as the Simulation Design Scores increases the participants? Clinical Judgment Scores will increase. If the variables are negatively correlated, as the Simulation Design Scores increase the participants? Clinical Judgment Scores would decrease. If Clinical Judgment Scores do not react consistently in relation to Simulation Design Scores, they are either non linear or are not correlated. 2.???????How does regression work (statistically, what happens when you perform a regression)? • 33. Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects On The... The effects of acid rain greatly affect the environment. Some lakes become so acidic fish cannot survive in them. The degradation of minerals present in soil produces metal ions. These are subsequently washed away, causing the release of toxic substances, such as Al3+, into the water supply. This also causes the loss of important minerals, such as Ca2+, from the soil, killing trees and crops. Long term effects from global warming include landslides and increased seismic and volcanic activities, due to land no longer being depressed by the weight of ice. Tsunamis could also be generated, landslides caused by warmer ocean water thawing ocean floor permafrost or releasing gas hydrates. Some world regions already show an increase in landslides, such as the French Alps. Humphry Davy first successfully introduced the concept of a fuel cell in the 19th century. This was followed by by the scientist Christian Friedrich SchГ¶nbein, who made work on what were to become fuel cells in 1838. William Grove, a chemist, physicist and lawyer, widely known for basically inventing the fuel cell in 1839. Grove conducted experiments with a gas voltaic battery, proving that electrictricity could be produced from an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen over a platinum catalyst. With the 1970s came the emergence of environmental awareness amongst governments, prompted by concerns over air pollution. From this, clean air legislation was passed in America and Europe. • 34. Culture Shock Essay Everyone has had a culture shock in their lifetime. Culture shock does not only occur overseas when traveling to another country to visit or to live, but it could also be in a new state or a new city, at a new school or workplace, among new extended family members, or being in any new environment. According to Condon and Yousef (2017), Culture Shock is a multifaceted experience resulting from the stress associated with entering a new culture (Condon Yousef, 2017, pg. 403). Everyone adapts in a different way to a new life and a new beginning, and it could be hard at first before anyone can get use to it. I will explain the circumstances surrounding the new culture and the reason for my trip/experience, the stages of culture shock present in my experience of the new culture, how I coped with the culture shock, and how I might cope with the culture shock in a healthier way in the future. When I decided to move to Northern California; I was so excited because I have been to California many times to visit my cousin before. I fell in love with the weather and the fact that there was so much to see and do in California. I had a lot of great experience in California in meeting new people from different countries, and I made friends when attending different functions with many of my cousins that lived in the bay. I loved being in California and when I wanted to go to the beach it didn t take long to drive there. The little short trips that I took to California to visit my cousin ... • 35. Siella Kingdom 1. I believe one of the most important factor that contributed to Silla s unification of the Three Kingdom is their strength and their allies. Even though the title is Three Kingdoms, there were several smaller states which included the Kaya and Puyo. According to page 30 of A History of Korea , the Kaya states were quite wealthy as they took an active role in commerce and iron production. However, they failed to become a larger kingdom which made it easier for the Silla to take over. As for Puyo, they disappeared even earlier. The main three kingdoms were Silla, Koguryo, and Paekche. On page 28 29, Seth implies that Koguryo was a powerful kingdom that often took over nearby cities. In 660, the Tang were frustrated by the power of the Koguryo, and came... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After defeating Paekche, the Tang went after Koguryo and defeated them. They offered Silla to become a powerful territory of China, but the Silla refused. Instead, they took over the Chinese controlled land! They were able to defeat the Tang and gain control of many territories (page 44 45). What made Silla so powerful? According to page 39, they relied on their social and political systems. Their systems includes bone rank system, the Hwabaek, and hwarang. They were also other factors that contributed to the unification of the Three Kingdoms by Silla. On page 55, Seth states that the political and military structure provided a stable and effective government, which carried the country s expansion. They also had long prosperity, strong economic base, and ways to support their huge military. The geography also played an important part. Koguryo was dealing with wars on the northwestern and southern boundaries while Paekche s weak spot to Koguryo was the north. It was also weak against Silla in the south and China from the sea. Silla was in the southeast corner and had easier boundaries to defeat. It was also out of reach from direct assault from China (page ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Documentary Film Outfoxed To begin with, Outfoxed is a documentary film that came into being as a result of the progressive and continuous work of the Filmmakerright, that is, the wing views. It clearly documents the fact that Fox News has continually engaged in what amounts to consumer fraud by extensively airing bias ideas of the conservatives. This contravenes the right of the people to be informed in a balanced perspective. Importantly, the film gives detailed review and examination of the growth and expansion of Murdoch s mediaempire; it does this by looking at the pros and cons of having media ownership in the hands of few individuals like Murdoch. Critically, the film argues that putting media ownership in the hands of an individual is disastrous as it is likely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In some cases some of us manage telecommunications networks so employees can work from home or on the road, which is becoming more and more important as new technologies allow employees to connect outside the office. This is the career I chose to be my life I hope at least a few people out there in the big world have the same determination that I do when it comes to school and fighting for a better future. • 38. The Lakota Way By Joseph Marshall In his story The Lakota Way; Joseph Marshall III adequately convinces the reader to persevere through a series of stories that allows the reader to develop a personal connection with characters. Marshall achieves this by informing the reader and using formal diction. This allows his readers to experience how perseverance can have a positive impact on one s life. Marshall teaches us that Perseverance represents a quality in human beings that allows us to be steadfast despite the difficulty. In the folk tale The Story of the Giant, perseverance is abundant; Marshall utilizes the skill of teaching to persuade his audience to persevere through the story. Marshall s unique way of writing allows the reader to take lessons from a story and influence them to use it in their own lives. From lya the giant terrorizing people to Indians having to leave their land because of the government to Marshall s grandfather s stories of hardship, Marshall shows his audience how the Native Americans have always had it rough but more importantly how they persevered. In The Story of the Giant: a monster by the name lya attacks a village full of Native Americans. During the attack, Cloud s wife Plum was taken away from him and she was eaten by the monster. • 39. The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise... The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007). Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest. The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005). ... • 40. The Legalization Of Prostitution And Prostitution Regardless if the decriminalization of prostitution helps, there will still be a heavy demand for it. One of the biggest industries in the world has it entrapped, which is the sex based human trafficking. According to the International Labor Organization, human trafficking generates around $150 Billion per year. And Two thirds of this money ($99billion) comes from commercial sex exploitation. But at the same time there is in fact evidence out there, that displays legalizing prostitutionreduces sex trafficking. In 2001, Germany legalized paid sex. Thus over the course of 10 years, instances of sex based human trafficking decreased by 10 percent within the country. In order to combat the sex trafficking business, we need to open up more waves of supporting communication, to expose different traffickers, and we cannot do that while prostitution remains illegal. Proponents claimed that the promotion legalized sex, increases the chances of an open sex market. Since other countries have a legalized prostitution they, have seen a mild increase in human trafficking. They argue legalizing prostitution may be legalizing the prostitution industry as a whole. In addition, some say when decriminalize sex workers, you also decriminalize the pimps, and the brothels. Although they do show increases, the planned legislative process I am promoting, would prohibited the pimps (or johns) to earn a stationary living on the earnings of any sex worker. • 42. The Theory Of Organizational Change Literature Synthesis The idea of change can alarm any system and lead to unexpected reactions from the members associated with the system. As the change begins to be implemented, these uncertainties intensify and can lead to crisis. This phenomenon becomes even more crucial when the system involves an organization with leaders and those members with non managerial responsibilities. When change is being implemented within an organization by its leaders, the consequences of it can be underestimated or ignored by them, resulting in crises and, eventually, failure of the change efforts. In order for change to succeed, specifically in today s business world, where organizations are constantly undergoing change at a fast rate, companies should educate their employees in understanding and supporting change. Taking both organizational and employee perspectives into account, Armenakis and Bedeian (1999) have reviewed major research publications on the theory of organizational change from 1987 to 1999. To set a basis for selecting from the vast number of the available material, their study was concentrated on those researches focusing on the fundamentals of organizational change dynamics. The researchers acknowledge the effect of the extent of their resource selection on the literature review outcome, stating that their choice of subject area will provide a deeper understanding of the existing approaches governing organizational change. In order to make their research manageable, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Psychoopathology Of Child Sexual Abuse The research put forth by Rind et al (1998), while obviously controversial, was delving into other variables that could be correlated to the severity of psychopathology of victims that experienced child sexual abuse. While child sexual abuse is a very sensitive subject, I think this research has benefited the conversation of CSA. There are multiple variables that cause a person s psychopathology and to blame the mental disorders on strictly one event or multiple events of the same acts is in my opinion naive. In many cases I think that CSA have a major impact on victims but as the research suggests, there are multiple factors that correlate to the psychopathology of victims. One that Rind et al (1998) did not research was the resilience of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dallam et al (2001) critiqued the sample population of college students, I understand their critique, that it may exclude the most severely affected, but that was the whole point of the research put forth by Rind et al (1998), that someone can be severely affected in a clinical definition of the terms but their psychopathology may not be severe. I think that Rind et al (1998) were trying to figure out why some people are impacted more severely psychologically where other victims are more resilient. Dallam et al (2001) critiques the clearly impossible standard to have one definition of abuse and Rind et al s over inclusion of the definitions. I think Rind et al (1998) had reason to over include because to leave out one definition of abuse would be neglectful. Therefore by researching all definitions of abuse, you can find correlations with the 18 different psychological categories and CSA that Rind et al (1998) had used within their study. The research by Rind et al (1998) was controversial because it was a very complex subject to analyze. I do agree that there should be more studies completed in a different population to look into severity of subjects that may have been exposed to more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
