Student Life Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Student Life" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one
hand, it offers a broad canvas to explore various aspects of the student experience, from
academic pursuits to social interactions and personal growth. However, the difficulty lies in
striking the right balance and creating a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of this
multifaceted period.
The challenge begins with the sheer diversity of student experiences. Each individual undergoes
a unique journey influenced by factors like academic discipline, extracurricular involvement, and
personal circumstances. Trying to encapsulate this diversity within the confines of an essay can
be a daunting task.
Moreover, the topic necessitates a careful exploration of both the positive and challenging
aspects of student life. It's not just about highlighting achievements and successes but also
delving into the struggles, pressures, and uncertainties that students often face. Balancing
optimism with realism requires thoughtful consideration to avoid oversimplification or
exaggeration.
Crafting a compelling student life essay also demands a keen understanding of the target
audience. Depending on whether the audience is comprised of fellow students, educators, or a
broader readership, the tone and focus of the essay may vary. Striking the right chord with the
intended readers is crucial for the essay's effectiveness.
Additionally, avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements becomes crucial. Student life essays have
been a common assignment, and many may have explored similar themes. Finding a unique angle
or perspective that sets the essay apart requires creativity and originality.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on student life can be challenging due to its inherent
complexity and the need for a nuanced approach, it also offers an opportunity for self-reflection
and expression. It's a task that demands a delicate balance between honesty, creativity, and a
deep understanding of the diverse experiences that characterize student life.

Examples Of Allegory In The Red Badge Of Courage
1.)Describe Henry Fleming. Include physical descriptions and personality traits. Who
exactly is Henry? He was mostly known as the Youthful Soldier. He is forever
wrestling with his own internal dilemmas concerning courage, fear, and manhood.
(BookRags) Some adjectives that describe Henry in the beginning of the story are:
immature, obstinate, and negative. Some adjectives that describe Henry in the end of
the story are: mature, strong, and positive.

situations? There were many events that Henry had to overcome. I ll just talk about

Describe how Henry gets his red badge. Explain its irony. The irony is that he
complained about not having one since the beginning of the novel. All the soldiers
had one. Henry didn t. To be honest, he wanted to be wounded purposely, just so he
could be like everyone else.
12. How does Henry predict his regiment will treat him when he returns? Explain
whether or not he was correct.
Henry predicted that his regiment will treat him a certain way he returns. Henry was
wrong. He thought that they would get into a fight, meaning him and the group of
solders. They never really did.

13. How has Wilson changed? Is this Henry s perception, or has Wilson changed?
Wilson has changed. He s not the same person, he once was. I personally think that
this has to do with Henry s perception, as well as Wilson truthfully changing. A
quotation to prove this is: Wilson even gives Henry his one blanket. Henry notes that
Wilson has changed. He is now caring and thoughtful. He no longer boasts or argues.
(Shmoop) Wilson even owns up to it, as
Facilities Managers Are The Backbone Of All
Establishments
Facilities Managers are the backbone of nearly all establishments. They are the reason
the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. They aid in profitability, effective staff
relation, effective information management, effective internal communication, and
effective facility responsibilities. The most important area of a hotel that the facilities
manager plays a role in is profitability.
Usually when people think of the maintenance department of any operation their first
thought is fixing thinks (Edwards, 2012. p.13). Yes, the maintenance crew does
indeed fix things, but their job is far more important than just that. For example, if
there are twenty light fixtures broken in a ballroom, no events can be hosted in there.
This will result in a huge profit loss anywhere from one hundred dollars to over
$30,000. The facilities manager s job is to come in and fix the room as quickly as
possible so they can start turning a profit. As the hotel gets older and older things
become outdated and old. This is where the facilities manager comes in and makes
the decision to either replace the old equipment with brand new equipment, or to
simply restore it. They are responsible for nearly everything from painting the
walls, resurfacing the roof... to the gas that cooks the food and anything in between
(Edwards, 2012. P14). If all of the equipment is taken care of from day one, it will
last much longer and save money in the long run. In the end, no hotel would be able
to operate or make a
Design Thinking Course For Designer
This design thinking course is available to student to prepare them for the future
obstacles that we might face as designer. It s purpose to get students thinking about
their careers and interest. This course is a great opportunity to have guests
speakers who are already employed as designer come in and inform us about the
life after college. The professor searched for designers mostly one that graduated
form our program to explain what it is that they had to do in order to be
successful. Every single speaker was unique in his or her own way. The last
speaker we had was Manfred Westreicher who talked about his experienced, his
freelance work, and gave tips to improve our designing skills. Even though these
designers are different in their own way Manfred had similar ideas as Mary Beth
Backman and Jon Worlery.
Our last speaker Manfred was born in Peru and is 28 years old. He went to school at
UC blue and the Art Academy for graphic design. Some experience that he had was
with the AKTG incorporation also known as Vocal Point. Vocal point is a
marketing campaign that Manfred was working for. Being able to work with this
corporation allowed Manfred to make a new community from Vocal Point. He was
illustrator for Vocal Point and he also played a lot with the web as time went by.
He loved learning new things and by working with this corporation it allowed him
to. Manfred also designed a poster for the flying pig marathon. Before he got his final
design he drew lots of sketches, a
Comparison Of Eugenics And The Supreme Court
Eugenics and the Supreme Court The United States and Nazi Germany, an
unlikely pair. The disparity of values and beliefs of the two has set them as polar
opposites in many people s minds. However, when Eugenics and the 1927 Supreme
Court come to mind the distance between the two seem to diminish. Yes, today s
topic is the infamous Supreme Court case of Buck v. Bell; a 1927 case which
upheld a Virginia statute that permitted the compulsory sterilization Carrie Buck and
other intellectually disabled individuals for the purpose of improving the genepool .
This shocking 8 1 ruling is no doubt one of the Supreme Court s greatest errors as it
failed to acknowledge that the statute in question aside from being immoral and cruel,
was a clear violation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to this case only a handful of states enforced such laws. However this kind of
legislation remained controversial enough to maintain the nation s rates of
compulsory sterilization nearly nonexistent. However this Supreme Court ruling
legitimized eugenic sterilization laws throughout the country as more and more states
began to enact laws which closely resembled the Virginia statute. This resulted in
over 62,000 intellectually disabled or mentally ill Americans being forced into the
operation room. While the main target of such programs were the feeble minded,
however some states legislation also targeted the blind, deaf, epileptic, and

Blog 10 NYX Gaming unveils brand new partnership with Paddy Power
NYX Gaming is rising up through the ranks of the online casino industry at a rate
that few would have ever though possible. It seems that time after time they have
pulled the rabbit out of the hat as far as business matters are concerned. Making
sure that they don t stand still, they have added a new name to add to the ranks in
the form of Paddy Power. Joining already popular names in the form of Mr Green,
Casino Room, and Casumo, Paddy Power s ever growing game list will now feature
NYX Gaming titles in abundance.
What continues to push NYX Gaming forward as a key developer is the scratch and

Speaking on the brand new deal, Henrik Johansson of Paddy Power said, Once the
deal is signed we expect big things from the partnership moving forward. We have
been monitoring NYX Gaming Group and their efforts with the likes of Mr Green
and Casumo for some time and have been impressed with what we ve seen.
Through this we are excited to bring our members a wide selection of innovative

many eyes on the product as is physically possible. It s deals like the one with

recent times there has been an ever growing controversy surround the Paddy Power
brand. Every year seems to bring on a certain level of trouble for the company,
largely through bad taste or often misleading advertising campaigns. From the looks

casino operator, as they clearly see potential in the
Can a Native State Exist Within a Canadian State
Political Scientists, Thomas Flanagan and Roger Townshend explain the key to the
big question: Can a Native State Exist Within a Canadian State? in the readings: The
Case for Native Sovereignty and Native Sovereignty: Does Anyone Really Want an
Aboriginal Archipelago? . The essay will outline and provide evidence to both sides,
whether there could or could not exist a Native Statein Canada. The document will
argue that Natives are not organized enough to form their own government.
Throughout the decades, Natives have agonized many savageries at the hands of the
European settlers. The essay will take Flanagan s side with the belief that Natives
should not be sovereign, using the textbooks Principles of Comparative Politics , and

This would gradually abolish the Native rituals, religions, languages and traditions.
Non Native children had been separated from Native schools to regular English
schools. They were not allowed to practice their traditions, religions or language.
They have been pushed away from their society and that caused physical, sexual and
emotional assault. Hunting rights were limited and the environment of Natives and
that has been affected by expansion events. One of the reasons why Aboriginals are
in jeopardy is caused by Canadian societies, which are outside their reserves. When
they want to participate and interact with non Natives, they are being suppressed.
On the reserves, there is a lack of education and Natives are forced to move from
place to place to find a job and live a stable life something that their reserve cannot
provide. In the history of Canada, before the Europeans have arrived to the North
America, the Aboriginals struggled with their individual form of government with a
steady economy. Hence the fact, if the country were to allow them to form their own
government, they would be able to create and keep their sovereignty. Within past, the
Natives became familiar of using the easiest style of society, called a hunter gatherer
society. Using this out of date form of civilization they were repetitively considering
for new regimes and food. Accordingly, they were being forced to endlessly travel
from momentary reserves.

There are several important functions performed in an organization, among which
accounting is one of them. Define the accounting function and discuss how it differs
from double entry bookkeeping. Accountants analyze and interpret financial
information, prepare financial statements, conduct audits, design accounting systems,
prepare special business and financial studies, prepare forecasts and budgets, and
provide tax services. Double entry bookkeeping records the economic activities of a
business. Accounting includes bookkeeping but duties are far greater than it.

college credits (five years of study in many states) and worked a certain number of
years in public accounting, industry, or government; and lived in that state a certain
length of time before taking the CPA examination
Question 3:
Proficient level:
The field of accounting can be divided into two distinct, but sometimes overlapping
categories. Describe the similarities and differences between the two categories and
provide examples of the users of each type of data that are the result of the work in
each category.
The two categories are financial accounting and managerial accounting. Financial
accounting are for those outside the business and managerial accounting is inside the
business. Financial accounting information relates to the company as a whole, while
managerial accounting focuses on the parts or segments of the company. Managerial
accounting can use some of the external accounting (Financial) for its statements.

Launching the Bmw Z3 Roadster
In the mid 1990 s, BMW decided to launch a new vehicle titled the BMW Z3
Roadster, its first car to be manufactured in North America. BMW wanted to
capitalize on the decline of the motorcycle market with a roadster sports car that was
targeted at driver excitement and emotional fantasy for drivers. The Z3 initiative
provided the important opportunity to increase market share and build a stronger
brand connection with Americans. Its success would influence how Americans
related to all BMWproducts moving forward, shaping overall brand strength across
market segments. The Z3 Roadster launch also needed to be done with the context of

Our recommendation is to use an even combination of traditional and non traditional
marketing in the next phase. BMW should use traditional marketing such as T.V. and
print advertising to continue to promote their quality reputation that the Z3 was
born into. They should use the brand equity the Z3 is building in the U.S. as a
gateway for selling other models to Americans such as the redesigned 5 series. Non
traditional methods should remain a part of the mix to sustain the positive buzz
created in the first phase and compliment their Olympic sponsorship by utilizing the
excitement of the games. An example would be endorsements from popular
Olympians featuring the similar characteristics shared with world class athletes and
the Z3, such as speed and performance. They can also use non traditional methods
to maintain contact with consumers and put a positive spin on the lack of product
availability by running a contest to win a new Z3 when they arrived. In addition, an
increased global vision is needed for BWM to gain popularity worldwide and
increase global market share. The second phase should consider ways that the U.S. Z3
strategy can be incorporated into other markets in the future.
Today, BMW North America is currently looking for a new ad agency and is
focusing on TV and social media to promote new and redesigned vehicles. Their
marketing team reported in February that their budget break down would be 68%
for national TV, 8% for local TV, 15% for

The Little League Of The Baseball Cap
From a young age, girls and boys are separated in all walks of life; none is truer
than in sports, especially baseball. In 1939 Little League Baseball was founded for
anyone between the ages of 5 and 18; leading with their motto Courage, Character,
and Loyalty. This idea of courage was especially true in the year 1950, when Kathryn
Johnston tucker her hair under her baseballcap, took on the nickname Tubby and
posed as a boy for her local teams tryouts. It was not until after she made the team
that Kathryn revealed her true identity, leaving the local league no choice but to
allow her play. In just one year after that incident, the Little League regulations were
changed (as too should have their motto). Their new document read out Girls... Show

In 2009, Jennifer Ring, wrote an article titled Baseball Is War ; in this article she
references how this law, no matter how old it is, will never really be accepted
socially. She states that girls playing baseball is still news. Parents who arrive at a
youth baseball game and unfold their portable chairs are still, in 2009, surprised by
the presence of a ponytail (Ring, 12). It is not until something as simple as a girl
on a baseball field is old news , that we will be able to say, we are equal. Perhaps
Ring is right on the second page of her article where she states that, The battle is
cultural, not legal . It has been a females legal right since 1973 to play baseball, yet
we see it less and less as the years go on. During the 19th century, women s teams at
six different colleges as well as other outside sources began playing baseball.
Baseball was a chance for these women to step out side of their comfort zone
almost and gain a freedom that they otherwise did not have before. Martha Brady
states it best with her quote from article Creating Safe Spaces and Building Social
Assets for Young Women in the Developing World When she says, To a degree,
being involved in sports appears to work against the repressive effects of
conformity and femininity and allows girls access to the more action oriented realm
of adolescence that is typically enjoyed by boys (Brady, 42). During this time a
couple women stood out and began to

Covering a broad area of north and central St. Louis is the Grande Prairie Area,
which is bounded by St. Louis and Grand Avenue, Delmar and Kingshighway

From a beginning as a sparsely settled countryside in the 1860 s, the Grande Prairie
area experienced a gradual urbanization. This build up followed a westward trend
across Grand Avenue; among many people moving into the area were significant
numbers of German and Irish immigrants as well as a few blacks. Prior to 1900, the
population of the area was generally white. The nucleus of its present extensive black

store on Kingshighway. Elsewhere, generally, commercial uses are in poor
physical condition; with many vacant or vandalized. Considerable demolition has
occurred and on major streets some older stores have been replaced by drive ins or
service stations. Competition from outlying shopping centers and a lack of adequate
parking have taken their toll on neighborhood stores and shops. The major grocery
facilities are Schnucks Market, Aldi and Food for Less which are located on major
streets and accessible by public transit or motor vehicle.

Sports Psychology Essay
It has been identified that through sports psychology one can improve their physical
ability and performance. Sports psychology is the study of how the mind, mental
states and behaviour effect sporting performance. There are several sport psychology
techniques, which have helped me become a better volleyball player. These
techniques include planning for performance, controlling arousal levels, mental
rehearsal and concentration.
The first technique of planning for performance is all about goal setting and rating
your performance. Goal setting can be broken down into three distinct categories,
outcome, performance and process. An outcome goal is when a goal is set purely
about the outcome of an event/game. In volleyball my outcome goal ... Show more

Personally I find being calm and collected works best for my performance, in order
to get into this state of mind I find it better not to think about the stakes of the game.
To combat pre match nerves the techniques of mental rehearsal and concentration are
best used. Mental rehearsal is when an athlete plays a certain situation or technique
over and over in their head to better capitalise on the situation in the future. An
example of this may be mentally viewing the best technique to serve the volleyball.
By using mental rehearsal and athlete will be able to adapt to situations with a greater
ease. The second technique to combat nerves is centering. Centering is when an
athlete blocks out all the unimportant details of a situation and just focuses at the task
at hand. Centering can be achieved my controlled breathing and not thinking about
past mistakes. Personally I use the technique centering to help combat my pre match
nerves. By using this technique I am able to block out all the unimportant factors and
think about one thing at a time.
It can be seen that if an athlete choses to use the tools of sports phycology they will
effectively increase their sporting performance and ability. These tools have helped
me to improve volleyball ability and
Examples Of Political Correctness
Political correctness is frequently satirised as a construct of a heavily censored
society. However, it is not essentially censorship, where it is the public or institutions
censoring the language. Instead, politically correct language is essentially self
censoring, as it is concerned more with the mechanisms of the thought process and
trying to change them. This is done by the encouragement of use of certain lexemes,
the creation of neologisms and finally, the semantic shift in various lexical items.
Through the use of these methods, politically correct language achieves its goal of
being contextually inoffensive. Pushes toward certain lexemes being adopted or
dropped from one s idiolect by lobby groups only succeed if accepted by each
individual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Various groups have been known to reclaim words from their dysphemistic
connotations to become their preferred word of reference (cf queer). A currently
ongoing example of this is the SlutWalk , provoked by a comment by a Toronto
policeman who called a schoolgirl a slut for dressing skimpily, despite knowing it
was politically incorrect. The organisers around the world of SlutWalk are trying to
reclaim the word slut be removing the connotations of an easy woman. According to
Ruth Wajnryb in her book Language most foul, this movement can raise public
consciousness about the offensivess of negatively loaded words, which hitherto had
only been registered as such by women. Conversely, phrases created to gloss over
politically incorrect terms or taboos are also subject to semantic shift. A majority of
politically correct language is of euphemistic origin, however have the possibility of
becoming tainted as stated by the Allan Burridge Law of Semantic Change: bad
connotations drive out good ones. When this occurs, it is up to users of these phrases
to find synonymic expressions because, as previously stated, it is through self
censoring that political correctness occurs. Semantic shifts in politically correct
language are due to changing taboos but the lexemes themselves are ultimately
chosen by each user of the
Parallel Prefix Adder ( Ppa )
Abstract:
Parallel Prefix Adder (PPA) is one of the fastest types of adder that had been created
and developed. Some of the common types of parallel prefix adders are Brent Kung,
Kogge Stone, Han Carlson and Ladner Fischer adders. This paper involves an
investigation of the performances of these adders in terms of computational delay,
interconnect usage and power. The investigation and comparison for all these adders
was conducted for 8 bit size. By using the XILINX 14.5 design software, the designs
for above mentioned adders were developed. The simulation result produced the
vector waveform which then shows the computational delay; interconnect usage and
power for the adders. Hence, this project is significant in showing which of these
adders being tested perform better in terms of computational delay, interconnect
usage and power.

The fundamental operations involved in any Digital systems are addition and

Compare And Contrast Maslow And Taylor
For our management principles assignment we were asked to complete an
assignment on two managers from a list of six, we were to compare and contrast the
two managers. Through brainstorming and various research I decided to compare and
contrast between Abraham Maslow and Frederick Winslow Taylor.
The term management refers to the process of getting things done, effectively and
efficiently, through and with other people, managers have primary activities in which
they must perform. Management processes include planning, organizing, staffing

Mini Cooper
Introduction
Marketing communication is an ever changing field. New theories, new techniques,
cultural changes and technological advances all combine to create a dynamic
environment within which marketers try to ensure that their messages get through to
their target audiences (Blythe, 2006, p.2). Fill (2005) argues that marketing
communications is the way in which organisations reach their target audiences or it is
an audience centred activity (Fill, 2005, p.9).
This report aims to analyse the current marketing communication activities for one of
the most recognised brands in the UK and the world, MINI Cooper. The first part

2.1.2. Levels of awareness, perception and attitudes towards MINI
As Keller (1993, p. 3) argues, [...] perceptions about a brand as reflected by the
brand associations held in consumer memory . Keller (1998) also suggests that
there are three categories that constitute the overall brand perception: attributes;
benefits and attitudes. A study conducted by Simms and Trott (2006) explores the
brand perception of the MINI stakeholders. Based on their findings researchers
established a model that gives a perspective on a product brand by linking specific
brand associations to the image that is developed in the mind of the consumer or
stakeholder, and finally linking this to how the image appeals to key stakeholders
(Simms and Trott, 2006) . The application of their model to the MINI brand is
presented in Appendix 2. .
2.1.3 Involvement
The types of involvement that can be identified in MINI s customers are related to
the so called product and ego involvement as the interest is mainly in the MINI
itself, but also relates to the customers self concept (Solomon et al, 2006). What is
more, MINI has become an icon and the level of involvement can be associated with
cult products (Solomon et al, 2006).
2.2. The business context
2.2.1 Corporate/marketing plans
As mentioned above the MINI business context is inevitably related to that of the

Should Lgbt + Americans Have Refugees In Canada
Should we offer LGBT+ Americans refugee status in Canada?
When we think of refugees entering Canada, we picture people from war torn
countries fleeing persecution from their homeland to lead a better life here. With this
image in mind, it is unsurprising that Canada does not typically accept refugees from
the United States. The U.S. is considered a safe country, according to our refugee
guidelines, and is on the list of designated countries of origin in which the minister of
immigration has deemed should not be producing refugees. However, there is a
group of Americans who share some of the same concerns held by those who meet
our criteria of what a refugee is. While the US has made progress in their protection

Currently, LGBT+ people from countries not designated safe, qualify for status under
the convention refugee definition as being members of a particular social group who
have a well founded fear of persecution, as defined in the Immigration and Refugee

counterparts in countries where homosexuality is illegal, the danger of persecution
still exists in some states.
One example of persecution is the legal subjection to conversion therapy. Sometimes
referred to as reparative therapy, or Sexual Orientation Change Efforts, conversion
therapy historically used extreme measures such as institutionalization, castration,
and electroconvulsive shock therapy in an effort to change a person s sexual
orientation. Today, some counselors still use physical treatments like aversive
conditioning. While less extreme than some methods used in the past, this method is
still void of any scientific validity (The Lies and Dangers of Conversion

Gone with the Wind. I have always been curious if director, Victor Fleming and
producer, David O. Selznick and screenplay writer, Sidney Howard knew what they
were creating a masterpiece and how this film would have such an enormous impact
on audiences for years to come. Interestingly enough there were some who thought
the film should not be made, as Irving Thalberg said to Louis B. Meyer in 1936,

The equipment was very cumbersome and color consultants were necessary to
ensure accurate tones and hues as directed by Selznick. (Dunagan, 2001). Selznick
was very innovative with the use of shadows and silhouettes, which he uses in
several scenes of the film. Selznick s use of silhouettes in both the opening scene
and the scene prior to intermission are very dramatic as they arouse emotion on the
part of the audience. However, the emotions they evoked are very different. In the
opening scene, the silhouette of Scarlett and her father, Gerald the audience can feel
the love that Gerald has for his daughter as he illuminates his love for the land and
how she will understand as she get older. The audience can almost feel the
picturesque beauty of the land before them, as the sun is setting and Scarlett and
Gerald in silhouettes. The second scene where Selznick uses silhouettes is directly
prior to the intermission of the film. However, the emotions here are far different.

destruction on her voyage. War beaten Scarlett returns to her home Tara only to find

What Are The Similarities Between Sharks And Whales
Sharks are the oceans apex predator, but whales are the biggest species in the
ocean. Sharks and whales do not have a lot in common. There have been many
movies involving sharks, from Jaws to Soul Surfer, and they show the brutal side
of this giant fish. Whales however have almost no movies, that are good anyway,
besides documentaries, and they are mostly friendly. Sharks are vertebrates, they
have a rigid backbone, while whales are mammals, which means whales have fur on
their body. Mammals are warm blooded, so their body temperature stays the same,
they breathe air, and do not lay eggs. Sharks are cold blooded, so they are the same
temperature as their surroundings, but some are known as endothermic. They are still

There are more than four hundred different species of sharks and only eighty six
species of whales. There are categories of whale that the species are divided into

have baleen, but have teeth instead, up to 30,000.
Nextcard Inc
Assignment 1 Nextcard Inc.
In the late 1990 s internet companies and their stocks were booming. Nextcard was
among the group of companies, whose stocks were soaring, creating overnight multi
millenaries. While some of these companies, such as eBay, Yahoo, and Monster,
would survive the stock market burst Nextcard would not be so lucky. It turned out
that Nextcard was not being completely honest in representing its financial position
and would eventually be taken over by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

Nextcard also had opportunity to misstate the account. It seems per the case that there
were graphs and charts indicating there were problems at Nextcard, but since the
audit partner signed an unqualified opinion the financial statement users were not
aware of any problems and Nextcard stock prices continued to rise. An unqualified
opinion should not have been given if there were indications of problems. The reason
that this may have happened was that the audit partner was on the fast track and that
the senior auditor had very little audit experience. The third factor is attitude and
rationalization. There are several rationalizations Nextcard managers may have used.
It is obvious that they wanted to be the biggest credit card company so they may have
rationalized that the company could actually make money, or maybe they felt they
were owed the money, or that it was not their fault that so many of their customers
did not pay their debt. No matter what the rationalization was the audit team should
have gotten a better understanding of management s attitude toward ethical behavior
in order to determine if they were capable of fraud.
Financial investors rely on the accuracy of company s financial statements so they
depend on external auditors to insure that the financial statements are free of any
material misstatements. 3. In the

However, prints or printmaking is an interesting technique that can lead to creating
unique designs. The intaglio process, which has been around since the 1400s, and
is still used today, is a perfect example. This technique is one that s not talked
about much and has a rather interesting process. Intaglio can be used with a variety
of different materials such as glass, wood, and stone, but zinc seems to be the
favorite. Intaglio is used in a variety of different methods such as etching, drypoint,
line engraving and aquatint. The process may seem a little lengthy, but it s well
worth the effort. A gooey black waxy material is spread all over the material used.
When it is dries, the designer scratches into it and then placed in an acid bath. The
ink is then applied and ran through a press where duplicates can be made. There are
a variety of hard grounds that can be used such as aquatint, sugar lift and spit bit.
Intaglio pictures are so unique and interesting due to the simple fact of how unique
the process is. The pieces are elegant, beautiful and permanent. Intaglio is an art that

order to keep the government from becoming too powerful and endangering the

Unlike a treaty however, executive agreements are binding only during the
administrating that initiates it, unless approved by the new president s consent.
Despite its lack of interference in approving the agreements, the Senate can refuse
to appropriate the funds necessary in implementing them. Franklin Roosevelt used
executive agreements to bypass congressional isolationists in trading American
destroyers for British Caribbean naval bases and in arranging diplomatic and
military affairs with Canada and Latin American nations. As chief legislator, the
president can propose legislation; however, the Congress must review them and is
not required to pass any of the administration s bills. To overcome this obstacle the
president must have the ability to argue and persuade. According to Richard E.
Neustadt, governing rests in the act of persuasion not commands. The president
needs to induce them to believe that what he wants of them is what their own
appraisal of their own responsibilities requires them to do in their interests. On the
other hand, the president must sign all bills accepted by Congress to become a
law. If he does not want to make the bill a law, the president has the power to return
the unsigned bill to the legislator, in what is called a veto. If the president does send
the bill back, Congress can change the bill hoping the president will pass it the next
time; otherwise, the Congress can override the president s veto with a two thirds vote

The European Union Essay
he European Union consists of many institutions and through these parts, it functions
itself. While it has a highly federalized government like framework (EU Parliament),
simultaneously, it also has loose intergovernmental institutions (Council of European
Union and the European Council). It is a complex hybrid organization, falling
somewhere between the intergovernmental cooperative United Nations, and the
federal government of United States of America. The chief constituting bodies are
namely,
1.European Commission
2.European Parliament
3.European Council
4.Council of Ministers/ Council of EU/ EU Council ( The Council )
5.European Court of Justice
Besides these, there are nine other functioning institutions within the EU.
1.European Commission : Considered as the Guardian of the European Union , the
commission represents the interests of EU, is responsible for the day to day
operations of the EU, initiates legislations, draws budget, is accountable for the
goals set by the treaties and it can also begin conversations. With the help of the
ECJ, the Commission can also take warn and take proper steps against respective
states who have disobeyed the regulations, decisions or directives set by the EU. It
is said to be EU s politically independent executive arm . The members are 28 in
number, each from each member country, being headed by the President. The
President is first selected by the European Council, and then he has to pass the by

Hamlet Sanity In Hamlet
The most famous mental patient, Hamlet s sanity has been debated for hundreds of
years. As a student, I doubt I can add to the debate, but I can look at the facts and
come to my own conclusion.
Hamlet is suffering grief and despair from the beginning; his uncle s usurpation of
the throne and fathers death, and rapid wedding of his mother. You can watch his
intense grief tip toeing on the line with suicidal behavior as of Act II Sc I, where he
gives his first soliloquy:
O that this too too solid flesh would melt, Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew! Or that
the Everlasting had not fixed. His canon gainst self slaughter! Exclaimed Hamlet
Although we are supposed to suspect that something is rotten in the state of
Denmark , as Horatio puts it, from the start of the play, it is only when Hamlet talks
with the ghost of his father in Act I Sc V that we realise the full extent of his uncle s
treachery. Horatio and Marcellus try to restrain him, Horatio saying:
What if it tempt you toward the flood, my lord,
Or to the dreadful summit of the cliff
That beetles o er his base into the sea,
And there assume some other horrible form,
Which might deprive your sovereignty of reason,
And draw you into madness?
Horatio is afraid that the ghost will get Hamlet to follow him to a cliff hanging over
the sea. These words are very ironic, for as a result of seeing the ghost and hearing
the dreadful truth about his father s murder and mother s adultery Hamlet says he
will put on an antic
Essay about Love in Poems
Love in Poems
Robert Browning s poem My Last Duchess is based on a real story about the fifth
Duke of Ferrera in the Renaissance period. He married a 14 year old named Lucrezia
and then left her for a two year period.
She died at the age of 17. In this poem, the Duke is now looking for a second wife to
be. Robert Browning is one of the greatest poets in the
Victorian age. He writes romantic poems and he expresses love in this poem as
obsessive. The poem s rhyme scheme is a, a, b, b. This is a dramatic monologue.
This is the kind of poem where there is only one speaker. In this poem it is the
duke. At the very start of the poem, we are already given the idea that the Duke is a

He thinks that the duchess should give him all her attention to himself including his
power and rank.
The duke is very possessive about his wife. The main point of this poem is how the
Duke always wants attention for himself. He thinks he deserves all that especially
when in his own home. He always takes action and power over those lower than him.
I gave commands; then all smiles stopped altogether . If the Duchess smiles to
everybody, maybe the Duke did something about it to stop them from smiling back.
The
Duchess humility and good nature to anyone else disgusted him. The
Duchess can never know the cause of his anger because the Duke never tells her
why. Or that in you disgust me; here you miss...and I choose never to stoop. Lastly,
the Duke finally allows the listener to rise and meet the company below . He was

Robert Browning still stresses the point of his wealth and power over his
household. By showing the last Duchess painting, could it be that the Duke will
repeat the marriage to his new wife to be? His fair daughter s self...is my object , will
she too be like the last Duchess?
We will never know because Browning s poem ends with the Duke boasting about
his other pieces of art like Neptune .
Robert Browning has another romantic poem entitled Porphyria s
Lover . This is another monologue. Robert Browning also portrays obsessive love as

Common Type Of Wrist Fracture
Scaphoid fracture is the most common type of wrist fracture and is an important
health problem as it affects predominately young active individuals (mean age
29)1. They are therefore of significant social and economic importance. These
fractures account for 2 7% of all fractures1. They commonly occur when a patient
falls onto an outstretched hand or are sustained as a sporting injury. Scaphoid
fractures are notoriously difficult to image and due to the poor blood supply, has
issue with regard to non union and avascular necrosis (AVN)1. The clinical signs
of this fracture are swelling and pain in the scaphoid region, tenderness in the
anatomical snuffbox , pain on axial compression, pain while pronating the hand,
and painful pinch grip2. Radiological diagnosis consists of a scaphoid series of X
rays: Anterior Posterior, lateral, semipronated and semisupinated views2. In cases
of so called occult fractures, the fracture is not visible on the radiographs, if the
clinical signs are highly suggestive of fracture a 2 week period of cast
immobilization is recommended, followed by a repeat X ray series2. If further
investigation is required, CT and MRI scans can also be implemented. Surgery is
generally indicated for patients who have displaced or unstable fractures and patients
who will not tolerate cast immobilization. There is currently an increasing trend for
immediate surgical fixation for both displaced and undisplaced fractures, mainly due
to the short term benefits,
Finding A Mentor For This Project Essay
Entry 1: Finding a mentor for this project was not too difficult. Despite finding a
mentor, scheduling with my mentor was actually the hardest part. The funny thing
about this, is fact that my mentor is my father. I see him everyday and scheduling
is still difficult. I can only imagine how tough it is for others doing this project. To
find, associate and make plans with people they don t even know. Well anyway I
want to be a PoliceOfficer. Many of the stories my father had told me and continues
to tell me is very interesting. His experiences inspired me to become one myself. I
was told stories about many different criminals from someone J walkingto being
involved in a homicide. This job seems like the least boring job( depending where
you work) someone can be apart of.
Entry 2: On Saturday Novemeber 4th I had just got home from the gym. I walk in
my house grabbed a towel and headed straight for the shower. It was ride along day
with my father. Dressed and ready to go. We get in the car and headed to my mentor
s field. On the way I was so excited to see what it s like to be a police officer. Soon,
arrived at the Los Angeles Police Department.I never wold ve thouh I d be on a
ride along with my father. My ride along experience with my mentor ended up
being the longest and most intense day of my life. I say it was long because I was
with him from 9pm to 5;32am. That s 8 hours. Before the trip I was introduced to
many of the officers my mentor works with at the department.

Freedom Writers Reflection
A Chance for Freedom The Freedom Writers is a movie directed by Richard
LaGravenese that showed a teacher who used her position as a way to improve the
lives of students who did not particularly have the best opportunities (Plot
Summary). In the film, Mrs. Gruwell acts as a mentor to a group of actors that
portrayed troublesome lives and issues at home. From daily fights between friend
groups at school to drive by shootings within gangs, the kids have seen it all. Mrs.
Gruwell focuses on these hardships that the students face and uses them as a way to
create coursework that is relatable to the lives of the students while promoting a
safe learning environment. Not only did she create an interesting way for the kids
to learn inside of the classroom, but she also went out of her way to enforce
principles that were from outside sources. For example: Mrs. Gruwell created a
lesson plan that involved her students writing letter to the woman who hid Anne Frank
during the Holocaust, Miep Gies. After students had written their letters, Mrs.
Gruwell was able to find and transport Mrs. Gies to the school in order to have an
in person interaction between her and the students. This proved to be one of the
most impressive parts of Mrs. Gruwell s career because the students were able to
meet someone that they truly expressed gratitude towards. In a similar way, Mrs.
Gruwell acted as a figure that the students were able to look up to and place trust in.
Mrs. Gruwell was more than just a
Literary Analysis Of Eveline
James Joyce s Eveline is a short story about a nineteen year old Eveline, who
contemplates abandoning a life she is accustomed to and moving to a distant land
with a man she hardly knows. In one hand she holds the weight of uncertain
happiness, in the other, inevitable misery. Eveline needs to make a choice between
two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other, a respected
wife. Following her mothers death, Eveline assumes the role of a parent and inherits
all the chores accompanying it. She works hard at home and the Stores (Joyce 74),
but for all her troubles, Eveline gets little respect in return. Now with one brother
dead and other away on business, she is left alone to keep the familytogether and...

Being at the bottom of the hierarchy, Eveline s only means of escape is a man who
will take her hand in marriage.
Eveline s father is the second most important character in the story, yet Joyce
chooses not to reveal his name. That is because he is only a father in a biological
sense, falling short at every other fatherly duty. Mr.Hill is a failed provider who
takes his offspring s earnings only to hand it back, allowing him to feel like a man
of the house . He is abusive and flaunts his dominance by threaten[ing] (Joyce 73)
Eveline well into her adulthood. The threats seem unprovoked and random,
indicating father s attempts to instill fear rather than curb or abolish an offending
behavior. Compensating for his failures, the father uses aggression and control to
get what he wants. Her father was becoming old lately, she noticed; he would miss
her (Joyce 75), the narrator draws our attention to the aging of the father and
impending helplessness following it. Though Joyce does not clarify how the father
will miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he would
miss Eveline s help around the house and money the most. Still, as she contemplates
leaving, Eveline sees good in him and tries to balance her father s increasing capacity
for violence by remembering three random acts of kindness (Trudell) that seemingly
undue all the wrong he has done in the past. No matter
What Is The Black Magic Essay
The black magic causes many problems, people become ugly and self abased; it
causes some problems among people as well. Make up is magic because it can
make people more beautiful, and make them feel confidence, but it is also black
magic because it can also make people become ugly. When I was about 13 years
old, I attended many performances. Before the performances, teachers would help
students put on make ups. One time, the blushers were not enough for every
student, so they chose to use lipsticks to substitute blushers. I was the unlucky one
who used lipsticks as blushers. The lipsticks were sticky and rigid, so it was hard
for teachers to control. I felt my face was getting larger and hot because the teacher

Some girls always put on make ups, so it is very difficult to see their real
appearances. The make ups caused a very embarrassed situation for me. A girl who
always puts on make ups came to my dormitory and wanted to ask some questions.
I looked at her and couldn t recognize who she was, so I spent some time on
looking at her face. At last, I still couldn t recognize her, so I asked, Who are you?
I found that she was very surprised because she was wincing and looked annoyed,
but she still told me who she was. We had the same class in the afternoon. I felt
extremely embarrassed and wanted to find a hole to hide myself. Every time I saw
her, I would think make ups will change a person a lot, and I would leave

I though lipsticks were the most beautiful crayons in the world, the designs were

cried alone. Until now, my mother will always tell me this story when she sees
The Poetry Of Seamus Heaney
Seamus Heaney is one of the most famous living poets of our age. He was born in
April 1939 in Castledawson, Ireland and died on the 30th of August 2013. He grew
up in his family farm house in County Derry being the eldest sibling of 9 in the
family. His father, Patrick Heaney focused on a cattle dealers way of life, whereas
his mother, Margaret McCann obtained connections with the modern world. The
poet believed he grasped significant tension and contrast through his parentage
between speech and silence, convinced that opposites truly do attract. At the age of
12 Heaney was awarded a scholarship to St. Columb s College, followed by years of
transfers and then finally moving to the Irish Republic and from 1982 was regularly
teaching in America, which basically proposed his poetrycareer.
The wordsmith from Ireland he was named was awarded the Nobel Prize in
Literature, with his poetry achieving great critical acclaim and popularity. The three
poems I annotated; Mid Term Break , Follower and Twice Shy are examples of
either tradition or events from Northern Ireland. Heaney was deeply influenced by the

The Electric Conductivity in the Ionosphere Essay examples
The electric conductivity in the ionosphere associates the electric current and the
electric field by Ohm s law.
The conductivity includes the Pedersen component ( Expression 1 ) parallel to the
electric field and the Hall component ( Expression 2 ) perpendicular to the electric
and the magnetic field.
The conductivities usually concentrate between 100 and 130 km altitudes in the
central E region where ions and electrons can move separately.
Conductivities are proportional to plasma densities.
Daytime plasmas are mainly created by the solar extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation
into the neutral atmosphere.
Thus daytime plasma densities depend on the solar zenith angle (SZA, Expression 3 ).

The purpose of this study is to find simple and essential approximations of
conductances against SZA.
In particular, we will express the Hall to Pedersen conductance ratio as a function of

We will conclude that the daytime conductance can be understood by the Chapman
theory after additional considerations including (1) upward gradient of the
atmospheric temperature, (2) vertically flat plasma density profile in the topside E
region, and (3) variations of conductance layer thickness.
Conductances are also dependent of the incident solar flux and the local magnetic
strength.
Such additional dependences will be studied in the future after the SZA dependences
are established.

The Debate Over Organic Certification For Aquatic Animals
a) Becky Mansfield uses the debate over organic certification for aquatic animals
(216) in order to enlighten the inconsistency of the organic movement s ideas (230).
The organic community creates standards that are supported by their ideas, but when
the ideas become inconsistent and contradictory, it becomes very clear that their
standards are not set up on stable grounds.
b) The article was written in 2004, two years after the first US National Organic
Standards was implemented (216). This would have given researchers and anyone
involved in the agriculture world enough time to investigate the basis for the organic
movements standards, and to judge whether or not the standards were consistent and
fair.
2) Purpose of the article
Becky Mansfield is arguing that it is difficult to distinguish whether a product of
agriculture can have organic status or not. She has observed the debate over organic
certification for aquatic animals (216) from every angle, and believes that the
organic movement holds contradictory ideologies. These contradictions act as
blockages for the attribution of organic status to wild fish, because the fish do not
fall in any of the categories that the organic movement considers suitable for organic
status. But as Becky expresses a dialogue between the organic movement and others
involved in all realms of agriculture, it becomes obvious that it is not a problem of
the inherent environments of the fish, but a problem of classification of the
How Did General Pitt Rivers Influence The Study Of...
Lieutenant General Augustus Henry Lane Fox Pitt Rivers and Sir Robert Eric
Mortimer Wheeler were integral in the progression of archaeological philosophy and
practice. Both archaeologists brought a much more scientific approach into
archaeology, along with other innovations. Their works are very close in
archaeological philosophy and practice, and even had similar leadership styles while
being the head of an archaeological excavationor research team. These similarities
bring these two foundational archaeologists close together and form a nearly linear
timeline of archaeological influence. Unsurprisingly, Pitt Rivers (born forty three
years prior to Wheeler) was a major influence on Wheeler s works.
The influential Lt. General Pitt Rivers has been called the father of scientific
archaeology by many, in fact, there is a publication titled General Pitt Rivers, the
father of scientific archaeology (by Mark Bowden, published in 1984 and reprinted
in both 1990 and 1995). This title is not granted lightly, and it is made evident by the
methodology and works published by Pitt Rivers that he was much more
scientifically oriented and objective than most other archaeologists at the time and

The Importance Of Alexander The Great Gatsby
Throughout history and daily life, many figures become labeled as great.
Alexander the Great stands the test of time to be a common example of being
titled great . Alexander the Great receives his title of Alexander the Great from his
progression and achievements he made, such as becoming king at the age of twenty.
Gatsby fits into the role of being great in Nick s standards due to the fact he does
align with the definition of great, which states, of an extent, amount, or intensity
considerably above the normal or average (The Oxford American College
Dictionary). Gatsby shows that he remains more than an average person, may this be
his jump into luxury, the presentation of himself or his image, and the change Gatsby
brought to the people around him. Among all of his flaws, Gatsby proves himself to
be great in many different aspects and circumstances of life.
While Jay Gatsby s life does not form immediately upon success, Gatsby forms
himself into an influential man living in luxury. The identity of Jay Gatsby
replaces James Gatz at the slight hope and incessant need to be an icon. Gatsby
regains life after Dan Cody treats him well, Nick citing that He took him to Duluth
and bought him a blue coat, six pairs of white duck trousers, and a yachting cap and
...it was from Cody that he inherited money a legacy of twenty five thousand dollars
(Fitzgerald 107 108). Gatsby also gains his money from the drug store business, a
less than admirable way to proceed with gaining
Welfare Of The United States
Welfare is a subject of debate in the United States because everyone has a different
point of view when it comes to the Social Security Act. On one side the rich may
feel that the government takes from the rich, and gives to the poor. The poor on the
other hand may believe that they are being forgotten and not helped enough by the
government. Are the government financial assistance programs really working and
helping people climb out of poverty or are they creating lazy people who depend on
government assistance too much? Poverty has been an issue of great debate in
America for centuries. Before the Social SecurityAct was passed, the United States
government did not have a stable plan to help/aid the poor. It was the local
governments responsibility to care for their disadvantaged. Many Americans believe
only the poor receive welfareaid or benefits from the government, they are
misguided, because even though welfare is a program who aids the poor it also
helps most Americas in one way or another. Also, welfare helps big name
corporations by giving them government funding for research he also gives them
loans, grants, and tax breaks. In 2015 it was the eightieth year anniversary since
President Theodore Roosevelt passed The Social Security Act law, and the problem
has gotten worse not better. The purpose for this act was to help the unemployed or
underemployed during the great depression. However, it extended to the poor through
a variety of programs. In Addition, the
The Five Overlords In Ancient Greece
Athens Greece 755 BC: Aeschylus, King of Athens, dies after a reign of 23 years
and is succeeded by Alcmaeon. 753 BC: Alcmaeon, King of Athens, dies after a
reign of 2 years. He is replaced by Harops, elected Archon for a ten year term. 776
BC: the first Olympic Games Olympia, the site of the ancient Olympic Games, is in
the western part of the Peloponnese which, according to Greek mythology, is the
island of Pelops , the founder of the Olympic Games. Imposing temples, votive
buildings, elaborate shrines and ancient sporting facilities were combined in a site of
unique natural and mystical beauty. Olympia functioned as a meeting place for
worship and other religious and political practices as early as the 10th century B.C.

In Chinese history they are known as the Five Overlords in the Spring and Autumn
Period . In the latter part of the Spring and Autumn period, two states, Wu and Yue
became even more powerful and contended for overall hegemony. Finally Yue was
defeated, and submitted to Wu. However, Gou Jian, the king of Yue, continuously
galled by his defeat decided to seek revenge. Simultaneously, he trained his army, and
developed agriculture. Eventually, Yue State became strong enough and defeated Wu.
According to recorded history, during the Spring and Autumn Period, there were over
480 wars, 52 vassal states were vanquished, and 36 kings were killed. During the
Spring and Autumn Period the imperial house, with priestly, ritualistic, and
diplomatic functions but with diminishing authority, slowly sank out of sight as the
local nobles struggled with one another for power. Survival required coalitions, both
political and economic, as well as the accumulation of productive wealth. To this end,
many drainage operations, canals, dikes, reservoirs, roads, and the like were
undertaken, often on an interstate or multistate

  • 1. Student Life Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Student Life" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, it offers a broad canvas to explore various aspects of the student experience, from academic pursuits to social interactions and personal growth. However, the difficulty lies in striking the right balance and creating a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of this multifaceted period. The challenge begins with the sheer diversity of student experiences. Each individual undergoes a unique journey influenced by factors like academic discipline, extracurricular involvement, and personal circumstances. Trying to encapsulate this diversity within the confines of an essay can be a daunting task. Moreover, the topic necessitates a careful exploration of both the positive and challenging aspects of student life. It's not just about highlighting achievements and successes but also delving into the struggles, pressures, and uncertainties that students often face. Balancing optimism with realism requires thoughtful consideration to avoid oversimplification or exaggeration. Crafting a compelling student life essay also demands a keen understanding of the target audience. Depending on whether the audience is comprised of fellow students, educators, or a broader readership, the tone and focus of the essay may vary. Striking the right chord with the intended readers is crucial for the essay's effectiveness. Additionally, avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements becomes crucial. Student life essays have been a common assignment, and many may have explored similar themes. Finding a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart requires creativity and originality. In conclusion, while writing an essay on student life can be challenging due to its inherent complexity and the need for a nuanced approach, it also offers an opportunity for self-reflection and expression. They aid in profitability, effective staff relation, effective information management, effective internal communication, and effective facility responsibilities. The most important area of a hotel that the facilities manager plays a role in is profitability. Usually when people think of the maintenance department of any operation their first thought is fixing thinks (Edwards, 2012. p.13). Yes, the maintenance crew does indeed fix things, but their job is far more important than just that. For example, if there are twenty light fixtures broken in a ballroom, no events can be hosted in there. This will result in a huge profit loss anywhere from one hundred dollars to over $30,000. The facilities manager s job is to come in and fix the room as quickly as possible so they can start turning a profit. As the hotel gets older and older things become outdated and old. This is where the facilities manager comes in and makes the decision to either replace the old equipment with brand new equipment, or to simply restore it. They are responsible for nearly everything from painting the walls, resurfacing the roof... to the gas that cooks the food and anything in between (Edwards, 2012. P14). If all of the equipment is taken care of from day one, it will last much longer and save money in the long run. In the end, no hotel would be able to operate or make a

The professor searched for designers mostly one that graduated form our program to explain what it is that they had to do in order to be successful. Every single speaker was unique in his or her own way. The last speaker we had was Manfred Westreicher who talked about his experienced, his freelance work, and gave tips to improve our designing skills. Even though these designers are different in their own way Manfred had similar ideas as Mary Beth Backman and Jon Worlery. Our last speaker Manfred was born in Peru and is 28 years old. He went to school at UC blue and the Art Academy for graphic design. Some experience that he had was with the AKTG incorporation also known as Vocal Point. Vocal point is a marketing campaign that Manfred was working for. Being able to work with this corporation allowed Manfred to make a new community from Vocal Point. BMW should use traditional marketing such as T.V. and print advertising to continue to promote their quality reputation that the Z3 was born into. Non traditional methods should remain a part of the mix to sustain the positive buzz created in the first phase and compliment their Olympic sponsorship by utilizing the excitement of the games. An example would be endorsements from popular Olympians featuring the similar characteristics shared with world class athletes and the Z3, such as speed and performance. They can also use non traditional methods to maintain contact with consumers and put a positive spin on the lack of product availability by running a contest to win a new Z3 when they arrived. In addition, an increased global vision is needed for BWM to gain popularity worldwide and increase global market share. The second phase should consider ways that the U.S. Z3 strategy can be incorporated into other markets in the future. The reason that this may have happened was that the audit partner was on the fast track and that the senior auditor had very little audit experience. The third factor is attitude and rationalization. There are several rationalizations Nextcard managers may have used. It is obvious that they wanted to be the biggest credit card company so they may have rationalized that the company could actually make money, or maybe they felt they were owed the money, or that it was not their fault that so many of their customers did not pay their debt. No matter what the rationalization was the audit team should have gotten a better understanding of management s attitude toward ethical behavior in order to determine if they were capable of fraud. Financial investors rely on the accuracy of company s financial statements so they depend on external auditors to insure that the financial statements are free of any material misstatements. 3. Curry will make the defender look silly and hit a thirty feet three like a normal shoot. The intaglio process, which has been around since the 1400s, and is still used today, is a perfect example. This technique is one that s not talked about much and has a rather interesting process. Intaglio can be used with a variety of different materials such as glass, wood, and stone, but zinc seems to be the favorite. Intaglio is used in a variety of different methods such as etching, drypoint, line engraving and aquatint. The process may seem a little lengthy, but it s well worth the effort. A gooey black waxy material is spread all over the material used. When it is dries, the designer scratches into it and then placed in an acid bath. The ink is then applied and ran through a press where duplicates can be made. There are a variety of hard grounds that can be used such as aquatint, sugar lift and spit bit. Intaglio pictures are so unique and interesting due to the simple fact of how unique the process is. The pieces are elegant, beautiful and permanent. Unlike a treaty however, executive agreements are binding only during the administrating that initiates it, unless approved by the new president s consent. As chief legislator, the president can propose legislation; however, the Congress must review them and is not required to pass any of the administration s bills. To overcome this obstacle the president must have the ability to argue and persuade. According to Richard E. Neustadt, governing rests in the act of persuasion not commands. The president needs to induce them to believe that what he wants of them is what their own appraisal of their own responsibilities requires them to do in their interests. On the other hand, the president must sign all bills accepted by Congress to become a law. If he does not want to make the bill a law, the president has the power to return the unsigned bill to the legislator, in what is called a veto. If the president does send the bill back, Congress can change the bill hoping the president will pass it the next time; otherwise, the Congress can override the president s veto with a two thirds vote in

As a student, I doubt I can add to the debate, but I can look at the facts and come to my own conclusion. Hamlet is suffering grief and despair from the beginning; his uncle s usurpation of the throne and fathers death, and rapid wedding of his mother. You can watch his intense grief tip toeing on the line with suicidal behavior as of Act II Sc I, where he gives his first soliloquy: O that this too too solid flesh would melt, Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew! Or that the Everlasting had not fixed. His canon gainst self slaughter! Exclaimed Hamlet Although we are supposed to suspect that something is rotten in the state of Denmark , as Horatio puts it, from the start of the play, it is only when Hamlet talks with the ghost of his father in Act I Sc V that we realise the full extent of his uncle s treachery. Horatio and Marcellus try to restrain him, Horatio saying: What if it tempt you toward the flood, my lord, Or to the dreadful summit of the cliff That beetles o er his base into the sea, And there assume some other horrible form, Which might deprive your sovereignty of reason, And draw you into madness? Horatio is afraid that the ghost will get Hamlet to follow him to a cliff hanging over the sea. These words are very ironic, for as a result of seeing the ghost and hearing the dreadful truth about his father s murder and mother s adultery Hamlet says he will put on an antic

The clinical signs of this fracture are swelling and pain in the scaphoid region, tenderness in the anatomical snuffbox , pain on axial compression, pain while pronating the hand, and painful pinch grip2. Radiological diagnosis consists of a scaphoid series of X rays: Anterior Posterior, lateral, semipronated and semisupinated views2. In cases of so called occult fractures, the fracture is not visible on the radiographs, if the clinical signs are highly suggestive of fracture a 2 week period of cast immobilization is recommended, followed by a repeat X ray series2. If further investigation is required, CT and MRI scans can also be implemented. Surgery is generally indicated for patients who have displaced or unstable fractures and patients who will not tolerate cast immobilization. There is currently an increasing trend for immediate surgical fixation for both displaced and undisplaced fractures, mainly due to the short term benefits,

From daily fights between friend groups at school to drive by shootings within gangs, the kids have seen it all. Mrs. Gruwell focuses on these hardships that the students face and uses them as a way to create coursework that is relatable to the lives of the students while promoting a safe learning environment. Not only did she create an interesting way for the kids to learn inside of the classroom, but she also went out of her way to enforce principles that were from outside sources. For example: Mrs. Gruwell created a lesson plan that involved her students writing letter to the woman who hid Anne Frank during the Holocaust, Miep Gies. After students had written their letters, Mrs. Gruwell was able to find and transport Mrs. Gies to the school in order to have an in person interaction between her and the students. This proved to be one of the most impressive parts of Mrs. Gruwell s career because the students were able to meet someone that they truly expressed gratitude towards. In a similar way, Mrs. Gruwell acted as a figure that the students were able to look up to and place trust in. Mrs. Gruwell was more than just a

One time, the blushers were not enough for every student, so they chose to use lipsticks to substitute blushers. I was the unlucky one who used lipsticks as blushers. The conductivity includes the Pedersen component ( Expression 1 ) parallel to the electric field and the Hall component ( Expression 2 ) perpendicular to the electric and the magnetic field. The conductivities usually concentrate between 100 and 130 km altitudes in the central E region where ions and electrons can move separately. Conductivities are proportional to plasma densities. Daytime plasmas are mainly created by the solar extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation into the neutral atmosphere. Thus daytime plasma densities depend on the solar zenith angle (SZA, Expression 3 ). The organic community creates standards that are supported by their ideas, but when the ideas become inconsistent and contradictory, it becomes very clear that their standards are not set up on stable grounds. b) The article was written in 2004, two years after the first US National Organic Standards was implemented (216). This would have given researchers and anyone involved in the agriculture world enough time to investigate the basis for the organic movements standards, and to judge whether or not the standards were consistent and fair. 2) Purpose of the article Becky Mansfield is arguing that it is difficult to distinguish whether a product of agriculture can have organic status or not. She has observed the debate over organic certification for aquatic animals (216) from every angle, and believes that the organic movement holds contradictory ideologies. These contradictions act as blockages for the attribution of organic status to wild fish, because the fish do not fall in any of the categories that the organic movement considers suitable for organic status. But as Becky expresses a dialogue between the organic movement and others involved in all realms of agriculture, it becomes obvious that it is not a problem of the inherent environments of the fish, but a problem of classification of the
