Essay On Video Game Violence
Crafting an essay on the subject of video game violence presents a multifaceted challenge that
goes beyond the mere act of writing. The difficulty lies not only in navigating through the
extensive research materials available but also in synthesizing diverse perspectives and
arguments. The topic demands a delicate balance between acknowledging the potential impact of
video games on aggression and understanding the complex interplay of various factors
contributing to real-world violence.
One must delve into psychological studies, sociological analyses, and cultural perspectives to
form a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The challenge intensifies when
attempting to navigate the nuanced arguments surrounding freedom of expression, individual
responsibility, and the role of parental guidance in regulating game content. Striking the right
balance between presenting empirical evidence and respecting differing opinions adds another
layer of complexity to the writing process.
Moreover, the ever-evolving nature of the gaming industry requires staying abreast of the latest
developments, controversies, and research findings. Crafting a nuanced, well-reasoned essay on
video game violence necessitates not only a keen understanding of the existing body of literature
but also the ability to critically evaluate new information and incorporate it into the narrative.
In conclusion, composing an essay on video game violence demands intellectual rigor, an
understanding of diverse perspectives, and a commitment to presenting a well-rounded analysis.
It is a task that requires careful consideration, ethical reflection, and the ability to engage with a
complex and evolving discourse. For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate terrain,
similar essays and more can be explored and ordered through HelpWriting.net.

An Analysis Of BeyoncГ© s Song Formation
African American music artists tend to have to use their work to voice some of the
struggles their heritage has faced in the past. Artists like BeyoncГ© and J. Cole
have been known to release songs that evoke much emotion. BeyoncГ© in
particular released a highly controversial music video for her song Formation the
day before she was set to perform at the Super Bowl 50. Formation is a bold, five
minute video that displays a glimpse of some important events in African American
history, but also consists of elements of BeyoncГ© s personal life. BeyoncГ© uses
controversial lyrics to verbally represent who she is and visual imagery to illustrate a
higher social message.

BeyoncГ© knows how to spark an argument, and what kind of black anthem would
Formation be if the black lives matter movement was not featured. In the video, a
scene flashes to a little boy dressed in a black hoodie. The black hoodie is most
definitely a nod to the shooting of Trayvon Martin, who was an African American
teenage boy who was shot by a cop. He claimed Martin, which was wearing a black
hoodie, looked suspicious. With that said, the boy in the video is freestyle dancing
without a care in the world. Across from the boy is a line of cops in typical
formation. At the end, the boy spreads his arms out and the cops put their hands up.
BeyoncГ© is making a suggestion as to the practice law enforcement should take.
Cops purpose are to protect and serve, but at times they deviate. Often times, it has
been reported that African Americans were shot after they surrendered. After the boy
puts his hands up, a wall with the words stop shooting us spray painted appears.
African Americans feel the need to literally beg for officers of law enforcement to
give them break and stop shooting them. The emotion those simple words evoke is

Examples Of Hacking Secret Conversations In Messenger
How To Hack Secret Conversations In Messenger
Description: Want to hack the secret conversation in Messenger app, lets read the
detail provided below with many important information.
Introduction
We all want to trust the people in our lives to act responsibly and safely. Sadly,
when loved ones are being secretive or irresponsible, we have to monitor their
activity. If your partner is having secret conversations it is a cause for concern and
should be investigated. If you want to know if your partner is having secret
conversations, then your best option is to hack into their phone. Hacking the phone
gives you important information:
Check location.
See who they are communicating with.
Check what they are sending to friends.
Check what they are receiving from friends.

Children or spouses suddenly change their schedule without a reason.
Spying is more effective than asking for secret conversations directly.
Hacking a phone for secret conversations can be a tough task, especially for those
who are not familiar with technology. The best remedy is installing an app that hacks
into a phone without making it too obvious to the owner. Hence, Spyzie is highly
recommended because it lets you hack messenger conversations easily, without
altering the status of the phone.

Daniel Captivity
In 605 B.C during Jehoiakim s reign, the Babylonian s king Nebuchadnezzar took
Daniel and his friends as captives when he besieged Jerusalem. Daniel was taken
captive because he fit in the standards, which the king was searching for: young men,
good looking and smart. During the time of captivity, Daniel, the author of the book
of the Bible with the same name, writes about the dreams, visions and situations he
passed in the course of the captivity. Indeed Daniels actions reflected the way he
faced the situations, showed how he feared and was obedient to God, even when
he was placed in a room full of lions or into a furnace of blazing fire. The story of
Daniel begins in the third year Jehoiakim s reign when he was taken captive from
Judah... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Daniel received also a Babylonian s name so he was called Belteshazzar (or
Belshazzar) that possibly means Bel, protect his life. Daniel s character was tested
when he decided not to eat the king s food and proposed to the commander of the
officials to eat something different to see they would be healthier and better
looking than the ones eating from the king s chosen food. After a week eating
vegetables, Daniel was healthier and better looking than the other youth. By
choosing not to eat the food from the king s table Daniel was being obedient to
God s word because the food chosen by the king was dedicated to the Babylonian s
gods, probably were from unclean animals and the blood was not taken out. Daniel
received the name Belteshazzar because of the Babylonian s gods either Marduk,
or Nebo conceivably to incorporate the culture of the Babylonians and their pagan
s gods. God provided Daniel with intelligence, wisdom and a special gift: the
understanding of all kinds of visions and dreams and as a result of that, Daniel was
the one God chose to interpret the dreams of, the king of Babylon,
Nebuchadnezzar. The Bible says the king was distressed and wanted to kill every

Self Driving Research Paper
I see self driving cars being phased in incrementally over the next few decades, and
want to contribute to making them a reality. Nearly every aspect of self driving cars
needs improvement, and is a potential treasure trove for research. I think my choice
is complex enough to be useful, yet still narrow enough to be completed in
approximately two years.
One of the most frustratingly difficult problems for autonomous vehicles is obstacle
detection and avoidance. For cars especially, the diversity of the types of obstacles
they may come across is what really breaks down even the most complicated
detection methods. A very common example is a machine learning system which has
been trained on large sets of obstacle images; the first time it runs ... Show more

The first way is fusing the standard camera data stream with that of a forward
looking infrared (FLIR) system. FLIR systems have been used for years by the
military to detect enemy combatants and vehicles via their heat signatures. The major
advantage of this approach is that it works just as well, if not better, during the night.
While a standard camera produces a large amount of low light noise, infrared
cameras can produce high resolution images which can be used for accurate obstacle
detection. I plan to use the fused data for feature extraction with a suite of image
processing methods, such as Canny edge detection. Finally, I plan to use the
extracted features to classify them with common methods such as neural networks
or SVMs. I expect this phase of my research to take one to one and a half years,
because it relies on proven technology being used in a new
The Use Of Supernatural In Macbeth
In the tragedy Macbeth, Shakespeare s use of the supernatural to develop themes
relating to human emotion is evident. A large portion of the play is based around the
supernatural s role of pre ordaining Macbeth s fate, and his free will to believe in
such predictions. Supernatural occurrences, such as the appearance of Banquo s
ghost in particular, personify Macbeths guilt and conscience. Supernatural beings,
such as the three witches, appear throughout the play as recurring symbols for the
themes of Macbeth. In addition to these symbols and appearances, the characters of
Macbeth themselves make references to and call on the supernatural, to the point of
taking on characteristics of evil and supernatural.
One of the earliest scenes of Macbeth depicts the three witches predicting the fate of
Banquo and Macbeth. During this scene, the witches establish that Macbeth will
become king, while Banquo s children will later become kings. Lesser than
Macbeth, and greater. Not so happy, yet much happier. Thou shalt get kings, though
thou be none. So all hail Macbeth and Banquo. (Shakespeare. 1.3, 63 66.) Although
at first Macbeth and Banquo both jest over this prediction, over the course of the
play Macbeth begins to believe the prophecies made by the three witches. With the
assistance and persuasion of Lady Macbeth, Macbeth s ambitions to gain higher
power and become King of Scotland grow. In spite of this, his ambitions continue to

Words used by Shakespeare to describe the supernatural are also dark and somewhat
violent. In the case of Lady Macbeth, the supernatural is used to depict her as a
character, and the resentment she shows to conforming to society s ideals of
submissive women. Evil and supernatural occurrences are also used to depict the
changes occurring in Macbeth s character as the play
Why Did Silas Deane Die
When Silas Deane boarded the ship that would take him back to America he was
not expecting it to be the cause of his demise. Formerly the American attachГ© to
France during the Revolutionary War, Deane was ousted from his position when it
was revealed he was selling secrets to the English. Not having anywhere else to go,
Deane lived in Belgium for a time until he went to England. Eventually he saw it safe
enough to make the trip to America, and not be prosecuted for his wrongdoings that
occurred during the Revolutionary War. Whether he would be truly accepted back
into the United Statesor not, it would never be found out due to Deane s mysterious
death on the passage over to the United States. Deane s death on the surface appears
to be a suicide, but if looked at closely it could have been a murder. Silas Deanewas

During the Revolutionary War while Bancroft and Deane lived together in France
Edward Bancroft acted as a double agent (p. xxvi) for the United States and
England. Deane, who was living with Bancroft at the time (p. xxv), could have
easily known about Bancroft s dealings. In order to clean his own reputation with
the United States, Deane would have had to gain back their trust somehow. If he
used his hypothetical knowledge of Bancroft s double crossing for his own
purposes it would have surely put him back into the United States favor. If Deane
went back to the United States, Bancroft would have a possibility of being
publically ousted as a traitor. Killing Deane would have prevented any opportunity
of the sort from arising. With the motive to kill Deane, Bancroft becomes a suspect

Neoteny Essay
should cycle for a few weeks prior to introducing axolotls into their new home so
filter bacteria develop (Look, 2007).
Biology
Neoteny Axolotls have a neotenic nature which means they do not undergo
metamorphosis and stay in the larval state their entire lives (Jolles, 2013). The
adaptation of neoteny is often referred to as a backward step in evolution since it
prevents axolotls from living on land like other salamanders (Clare, 1999). All
salamanders are born in water, but only some stay while others congregate to land
once they are adults. Those that stay in the water for their entire lives are
considered aquatic salamanders, while the ones that move to land at some point are
either semi aquatic or terrestrial (Masters, 2016). Axolotls are considered aquatic
salamanders since they will remain in water due to their neoteny. They will grow to
an average adult size for a salamander, but their limbs will remain ... Show more

Axolotls often lose limbs because they mistake them for food or play too roughly
with other salamanders, but they can easily regrow the lost parts within a short
span of a couple weeks. The regeneration occurs from the formation of a bud at the
end of the damaged limb, which is where the lost portion will grow back (Clare,
1999). Axolotls can regrow skin, feet, entire limbs, jaws, and portions of their brain
and spine. They can also receive transplanted organs from other Mexican
salamanders, and their bodies will easily accept the transplants without rejection
(Lewis, 2013). This strange ability relies entirely on the axolotls immune systems;
immune cells called macrophages are fully responsible for the regeneration process
of missing body parts. Macrophages are also present in mammals, where they help
heal a sudden injury or wound. That mechanism is the same in axolotls, but rather
than just healing a wound, it fully regenerates the lost limb (Lewis,
My Participation Certificates
I looked around at my family and friends as I received a participation certificate,
along with 12 other students. Nothing more, nothing less, just a piece of paper
stating that I had been involved. A certificate that, at the time, I was proud to have. I
felt accomplished, as if I had attained some monumental achievement. Not everyone
was lucky enough to even participate, so who was I to complain about not doing
anything special enough to receive a plaque, like the girl two spaces down from me.
Never, in my life, have I ever been told that I am not enough. I ve always met the
expectations of my peers and authority figures, and I was comfortable with continuing
in this manner. I was content with meeting the status quo, and kept myself from

Traditional Vs. Online Learning
Among schools with 12th grade students during the 2010 11 school year, the
average percentage of 12th grade students who graduated with a high school
diploma was 89 percent for traditional public schools, 91 percent for public charter
schools, and 92 percent for private schools (Institute of Educational Sciences).
Traditional on campus classes are those in which a student earns a diploma or a
degree in a classroom environment taught by a professor. Students are provided with
high amounts of social interaction with students and faculty to prepare them for
careers outside of the classroom. From the time children are enrolled in kindergarten
up to graduation, the familiarity of a classroom atmosphere sets up structural support
to help them through their studies as well as provide students a sense of societal
discipline. Traditional on campus classes are more beneficial to a student s education
than online courses.
Traditional classes provide unmatched face to face interaction with professors and
classmates. In her article, Traditional vs online learning: which is right for you ,
Janelle Pagnucco, a communications engineer at ECO Canada explains, A classroom
environment allows for instant expression of opinions and thoughts through face to

students whether or not they are headed in the right direction and help keep the
learning process moving (Pagnucco). Pagnucco is claiming students and

The increasing complexity of business operations and the ever changing conditions of
business environment such as the economic, social, technological political
development as well as Government policies, make it increasingly difficult for a
company to consistently earn profit that would constitute a fair return on the capital
invested. There is thus the need to employ modern management tools to improve
manager s efficiency in order to guarantee a steady return on capital invested.
1.2 DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING INFORMATION.
Decision making is purposeful selection from among a set of alternatives in the light
of a given objective. (Oyedijo 1996) Decision making is not a separate function of
management; in fact decision making is intertwined with the other functions such as
planning, co ordinating and controlling. Chiefly among all these functions is
planning which is described as the foremost and most basic of all management
functions and the skill with which it is performed determines to a large extent the
success of all operations of an organisation.
In planning, managers outline the steps to be taken in moving the organisation
towards its objectives. The decision making aspect of management function however
ensure that best alternative is selected to achieve the objectives. Budgeting plays a
vital role in planning and that has a direct
Biodiesel
Biodiesel is a form of diesel fuel manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats, or
recycled restaurant greases. It is safe, biodegradable, and produces less air pollutants
than petroleum based diesel.
Biodiesel can be used in its pure form (B100) or blended with petroleum diesel.
Common blends include B2 (2% biodiesel), B5, and B20.
Most vehicle manufacturers approve blends up to B5, and some approve blends up
to B20. Check with your owner s manual or vehicle manufacturer to determine the
right blend for your vehicle, since using the wrong blend could damage your engine
and/or void the manufacturer s warranty. Biodiesel Compared to Petroleum Diesel|

In 2007, DaimlerChrysler indicated its intention to increase warranty coverage to
20% biodiesel blends if biofuel quality in the United States can be standardized.
The Volkswagen Group has released a statement indicating that several of its
vehicles are compatible with B5 and B100 made from rape seed oil and compatible
with the EN 14214 standard. The use of the specified biodiesel type in its cars will
not void any warranty.
Mercedes Benz does not allow diesel fuels containing greater than 5% biodiesel (B5)
due to concerns about production shortcomings .[ Any damages caused by the use of
such non approved fuels will not be covered by the Mercedes Benz Limited Warranty.
Starting in 2004, the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia decided to update its bus system
to allow the fleet of city buses to run entirely on a fish oil based biodiesel. This
caused the city some initial mechanical issues, but after several years of refining, the
entire fleet had successfully been converted.
In 2007, McDonalds of UK announced it would start producing biodiesel from the
waste oil byproduct of its restaurants. This fuel would be used to run its fleet.

Someone who inspired me to do this was Saint Martin of Tours. St. Martin of Tours
is the patron saint of the poor, soldiers, winemakers, and more. St. Martin s father
was a veteran, and St. Martin was forced to serve in the Army at the age of 15. It
was said that St. Martin lived more like a monk than a soldier. At the age of 23, he
refused a war bonus and told his commander, I have served you as a soldier; now
let me serve Christ. Give the bounty to those who are going to fight. But I am a
soldier of Christ and it is not lawful for me to fight. This inspired me because St.
Martin was not going to take the bonus because he said it should go to someone who
deserved it, someone who is fighting. St. Martin felt as if he was

it s here proven in Mr. Darwin s theory; you should be well aware of it. Well, the

Canonical Criteria The purpose of this essay is to discuss and give some explanation
and knowledge of the elements and relevant information as it relates to the Canonical
Criteria. The Biblical canon that we find in Jewish Christian are listed in and
throughout the various books in the Bible. They are recognized as being inspired by
God which makes them sacred. They are very profound and valid to the particular
religion or community group of believers as it pertains to their faith and livelihood
in the Kingdom of God. The word canon is derived from the Greek word (kanon)

Even though the authenticity has been challenged even rejected by many Biblical
critics and scholars. It would and could be a possibility of proving that the canon
were written by apostles. The second is the orthodoxy. This would go without
saying that any canonical book must be orthodox because God would not permit his
word to teach falsehood but only the truth. The positive or strengths would be that
the criterion had to be orthodox or they would be disregard and not worth and
disqualified material by this application of whether or not it was orthodox. The
negative or weakness would be that anything that would violate the orthodox would
not be viewed as a canonical. This was demonstrated in the early church and they did
not handle the criterion easily because of their lack of wanting to acknowledge the
Hebrews and the reservation about Revelations (Nicole, 1997).
The third is the christocentricity which Martin Luther describes as Jesus Christ being
the center of the entire book of the Bible. The positive or strength is that there is
truth about Jesus Christ being the center of the Bible. The negative or weakness is
that the principle that was used in the connection with other criteria such as
apostolicity. The fourth is the inspiration because the canonical books are inspired by
God, some authors like Laird Harris feel that is the real criterion to be implemented.

North America after the Americas were discovered. Some of these colonies became
successful and was very beneficial to their nations, bringing in raw materials and new

Europeans. Even though these European colonies developed in different areas in
North America, there were some political, social, and economic similarities, such as
the French and Spanish governments, main religion in New France and New Spain,
and the basis of the economy, and some differences, such as the views on the Indians,

The majority of the population in each of the colonies was Christian, but New
France and New Spain had mainly Catholics while New England was mainly
Protestant. This disparity was due to the reasons the people decided to move to
the colonies. Protestants moved to New England to move away from the Church
of England since they believed that the English Reformation didn t change enough
things in the church. However, the Catholics from New Spain and New France
wanted to either convert the Native Americans into Christians or establish some
Christian influence in North America. In addition, they had very different views
on what the Native Americans were and how to treat them. In New Spain, they
saw them strictly as savages that were either supposed to be saved by converting
them into Christians or killed and conquered. In New England, their view of them
was originally positive because they were given assistance to survive on the
colonies, but they did become enemies due to their greed. In New France, their
view was very positive as they tried to make an alliance with the natives due to the
Indians involvement in the fur trade. All of these varying views were a result of
their differing goals in which they became friends or enemies depending on the
positives of having that relationship, such as New France s
Crucial Roles Of Women And Children During The
Romantic Era
The Crucial Role of Women and Children in the Romantic Era During the
Romantic era, the role of women and children were both crucial to society. Their
individual roles were portrayed in numerous poems during this time frame. The
children and women were property of the male figure in their life. William Blake
is an advocate for children s rights, Mary Wollstone Craft is an advocate for equal
rights of women, and William Wordsworth portrays the women s role, if they were
no male figure. William Blake is a Romantic poet who advocated heavily for
children s rights. At the time, there were no child labor laws, meaning any child
could be placed in a factory or any environment regardless of age. In The Chimney

that if they got to Heaven, they would never want anything else, they would have
all they need. Dacre and the speaker continued to believe if they do their duty,
nothing inimical will happen to them (52). The overall message of Blake s The

and go to Heaven, they will finally be able to be happy
Research Paper On Fallujah
Introduction
The first battle in Fallujah during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) is known as
Operation Vigilant Resolve. This battle is regarded as one of the biggest single
defeats that the United States Military has suffered throughout all its campaigns
during OIF. The United States and international media outlets exploited this defeat,
which in turn, bolstered Al Qaeda recruiting in Fallujah. This offensive failure and
retreat was backed by a huge public outcry for troop withdrawal and successful
exploitation of recruiting propaganda by the insurgents.

Persians never lost control and turned the city into a lavish place to live. In 1920,
Fallujah would again be a site for another battle after the assignation of a British
Officer and explorer, Lt. Col. Gerald Leachman. The British would wage a massive
air attack and dropped bombs indiscriminately killing anyone within reach. In the
end, over 1000 British soldiers and 10,000 Iraqis were killed. With a long history
of war and radical religious attitude, Fallujah turned into a capital of insurgency in

Woodrow Wilson Leadership Style
Multiple different Presidents during the 20th century went in and out of the Oval
Office in the White House serving their country the best way they could. However,
two men out of these many great Presidents, holds a place in American history as
perhaps the some of the greatest leaders this country has ever had. During this time
there were are two extraordinary smart and educated men that represented both the
dreams and aspirations of the American people during such a uproarious time in
United Stateshistory. Both of these men held leadership qualities that no one could
rival. They had strong views for America, and held anomalous ideas on foreign
policy. These gentlemen were Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.

Wilson continued with a couple of TR s reforms. For example, the income tax to
support the people, and the federal reserve. During his term the prohibition of
drinking and selling alcohol was happening and act for women s right to vote was
underway. Wilson father was also minister. One of the mary aspects of Wilson was
that he appeared to have a dangerous messiah complex where he thought he could
save the world. He was convinced by the idea that he himself, and no one else was
able to enter the whole world into a new age of total peace. However, as a war
leader he was superb, in a way. He got the American people to believe they would
fight a war to make the world safe for democracy and forever peaceful. Out of
Wilson s idealism came his fourteen points, which he presented to Congress in
January of 1918. This appealed to people everywhere by promising such objectives
as ending secret treaties, freedom of the seas, and removing economic barriers. His
fourteenth point was the League of Nations, which was rejected by the Senate. He
did however get the Treaty of Versailles accomplished during his term in June of
1919. Having that said the treaty only included about four of the original fourteen
points. Wilson was a man of peace without victory, who many argued tried to keep us
out of war. Wilson wanted to remain neutral. However, this proved to be increasingly
impossible.
Stereotypes About Skinny
Stereotypes About Skinny People Many people assume that the only reason
people are skinny is because they want to look better or they starve themselves.
Others consider them to be healthier than others. That there is a stereotype, a
stereotype is when something is said about a group of people that is based on
some truth, but it is exaggerated. Maybe there was a time when that was true, but
now there are other reasons to why people are skinny. People all over the world are
constantly labeling and/or judging other people based on appearances. But they don
t stop there they also have to judge how one speaks, walks, or acts and assume that if
someone shares similar qualities as someone else they label them and fit them in
small groups. The reason... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

knew what stereotypes were and she said that she didn t so then I explained to her
what it was. Then I asked her, Can you tell a stereotype that you may have

just choose not to eat. Even though she has told many people about her eating
disorder they don t believe her or choose not to. Another thing that people tell her
is that the only reason she s skinny is so that she can be pretty and be like all the
other pretty girls. Because of her eating disorder she finds that being skinny makes
her unhappy because she has to constantly check how many calories and fat food

Minimum Wage Vs Living Wage Research Paper

Minimum Wage or Living Wage
Minimum wage is a very controversial topic nowadays. This cartoon is symbolizing
the conflict between the two people whether the minimum wage should be raised
or not. People are always looking for a job or want to get a new job. The employer
can force people to work for a very low salary. Even though he or she can afford to
pay the employees more, they will not do it. The employer can only pay the
employees low salary because he or she wants a higher profit. People now want to
raise the minimum wage. By examining the high cost for employers, not supporting
families, and raising taxes, people will see that they do not want to raise the
minimum wage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since people are always looking for a new job or finding a job, there is a reason for
the employer to negotiate terms of employment. The employer will try to pay the
employees as little money as he or she can. Raising the wage would hurt the low
skilled workers. It may also result in eliminating jobs. People are less likely to get
hired because entry level workers are getting paid to businesses. Raising the wage can
also let low wage workers get an education and move up to higher paying jobs.
According to Journals Resource s John Wihbey, if the wage is not raised, low paying
workers are more likely to be enrolled in a community college. They can improve
their skills and go for a higher paying job or they can go for a career. If the minimum
wage is raised, some businesses would have to cut jobs in order to pay employees
more. It can be difficult for people to find jobs. Raising the minimum wage has a lot

The Origin Of Species By Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin is perhaps one of the most well known men of science to this date.
He s most known for his theory of evolution and in particular, natural selection. His
most famous works, and one of his most controversial works as well, was his book
titled On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation
of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. Darwin wrote the Origin of Species
after an almost five year voyage aboard the H.M.S. Beagle. While aboard the
beagle, Darwin was presented with many facts that appeared to shed some light on
the origin of species . Darwin has contributed in many ways to the world of science,
specifically the history of science. His works and theories can be found today in
almost any historical science class. Darwin may not have been the first to talk about
evolution, but he certainly is one of the most well known historians of science to
have addressed the issue. In his book, The Origin of Species, Darwin described in
detail how certain species evolve over time, as well as how his theory of natural
selectionhas affected evolution. While on his voyage aboard the H.M.S. Beagle,
Darwin observed the various typed of birds of the Galapagos Islands. While doing
so, he discovered that the life forms native to those islands bore a striking
resemblance to similar species living on nearby continents than to those living on
more distant islands. From these observations, Darwin formed his theory of natural
selection. In its

Although burning biodiesel produce carbon dioxide, is does not contribute to global
warming. This is because that amount of carbon dioxide that the growing plants take
in during photosynthesis is the same as the amount of carbon dioxide that the diesel
engine emits when it is burning the biodiesel. So there is no extra carbon dioxide
added to the atmosphere. ( this makes happy who are against of using dieselfuels)
Disanvantages of Biodisel

The Tax Reform Act Of 1997
There are only two things assured in this world: death and taxes. Whether you re a
corporate employee or an entrepreneur, you will have to pay your taxes. For every
entrepreneur, taxation is a very crucial factor in their financial investment s decision
making process because the lower the tax burden the higher the revenue which
equivalently paid out in forms of wages and salaries or dividends (Lynn, 2015).
The word tax comes from the latin word taxo which means I estimate. It varies
from different countries and how they are paid. In the Philippines, taxes can be
grouped to national taxes and local taxes. National taxes are those based on the Tax
Reform Act of 1997 also known as the Republic Act No. 8424. The Tariff and
Custom Code of the Philippines which levied the import and export tariffs (Republic
Act No. 1937) may be considered as a national government tax.
Under this group, we have the capital gain tax, documentary stamp tax, donor s tax,
estate tax, income tax, percentage tax, value added tax and excise tax. A capital
gain tax is a tax imposed on the earnings of a seller has gained from the sale of his
/her capital assets (Castillo, 2015). In identifying the capital assets, we need to
understand that the word capital assets mean property held by the taxpayer (Tax
Code Section 39). Documentary stamp tax is an excise tax levied on documents,
instruments, loan agreements and paper evidencing the acceptance, assignment, sale
or transfer of an obligation, rights, or

The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice
Model
Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how
preferences of residential location are different among age and income groups.
Stratifying the sample of households by age and income is helpful to identify some
of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among different market segments as
well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist between
different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably
well as shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age
groups have different residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the
access to employment is statistically significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but
insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job opportunity is an important
factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for the young
and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to
prefer the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not
statistically significant. Rather, land price is positive and significant in Group 2,
which means they are likely to choose the location where land price is high. This
may be because most households in Group 2 consider their children s education in
their residential location decision. In specific, good education environment including
public and private schools is a very important factor in Korea. However, we do not
include the
The Life Of Everyday Life In Colonial America
Everyday life in colonial America was made up of large cities, rural settlements,
and frontier regions. Life in colonial America was nothing short of difficult. The
large cities were made up of many classes of people ranging from wealthy to
slaves. There were some that had very specific skills as well as communication
skills and others who had nothing. The wealthy people dreamed of what they were
going to do in the future, however the middle class people dreamed but did not
plan. They were better off than the average poor person, but still worked very hard
sunrise to sunset. In this paper I will provide information on what life was like for
various aspects and people groups in colonial America.
Slavery in colonial America was a hard way of life. Slaves varied in ages and
gender. Slaves were assigned a task or tasks that had to be completed during the
day. The male slaves would participate in the hard labor such as working on the
farm. The female slaves would generally work in the household, sent on errands or
spent most of their time with the house owner. Female slaves were forced into
sexual relationships for reproduction. Reproduction would either be forced between
one African slave and another or between the slave and the house owner. Slaves
were also treated like livestock and being bought, sold and traded among owners.
For the enslaved people they had to endure being separated from their families when
captured or when sold at the slave market. Their new
Testilling In The Police Testilying
Testilying is used as a slang term by the police, what it means is police perjury or a
false testimony, the use for testilying is to tell someone that they had done something
even though they did not, this is to make the person feel as if they had been caught,
although some suspects will deny that they had done the crime. The book explains
that misconducting someone is rare, because at some point they will find out
someone who has done the crime. The problem with testilying is that policestretch the
truth in order to get the suspect in jail for what they had done this can be a very bad
for police officers as they can be fired from their jobs but to them testilying is the
only way to get rid of people off the streets. The reasons for why police perjuryhas
become so bad is that police officers want to keep people who do bad crimes longer
in prison because they think that the suspect deserves it. Three reasons why perjury
can not be ceased is police officers are trying to justify why and how the suspect
must get a longer sentence, police have to make quick and swift situations and
because they believe that they are doing the right thing because what they see is what
they believe.
Some police join to protect the law and build a safe community some join because.
It seems like a cool job or the minority of the group, to be a total jerk. But everyone
of these brave officers have a their own minds and may stretch the truth in order for
a suspect to get a worse sentence or a
Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
For a human society to take place, an order is required. From order, comes
leadership and authority. Humans create rules in order to protect and look after their
society. At times, these rules may fall apart, possibly leading to chaos and
destruction. William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies, demonstrates to its readers
that the conch shell symbolized leadership and authority, as the characters exposed
their inner savages.
As the boys remained on the island, the conch shell represented a symbol of unity
and democracy for themselves. When Ralph and Piggy first encounter on the island,
they agree that they should figure out if there are any other survivors, after their
plane crashed due to an atomic bomb from the outside war. After Ralph... Show more

After Jack s tribe gains power, and the boys embrace their inner savages, the value of
the conch subsided. When Jack and his tribe apparted from Ralph s group, they
began to disobey all of Ralph s rules that they set for the island, including the conch.
Although Jack knew that Ralph was the leader of the island, he decided he could
violate the conch s purpose. Golding showed to his readers how Jack was ignorant of
the value of the conch by having Jack say, Conch! Conch! shouted Jack. We don t
need the conch anymore. We know who ought to say things, (Golding 101 102).
Ralph became furious at Jack for not obeying the power of the conch. Their groups
now became segregated. Later, Ralph and Piggy were arguing against Jack s tribe
at the Castle Rock, and Ralph has witnessed something he wishes he never had to
see. What he saw was the horrifying death of Piggy, who was holding the conch in
his arms, which got demolished as well. When boys went full savage, they go
forward and the rock struck Piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee; the conch
exploded into a thousand white fragments and ceased to exit (Golding 181). The
conch shell was first an essential to the unity and value for the boys when they first
arrived on this island. Now they have not only lost the conch, but Piggy as well.
In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, it is clearly presented that the conch shell
represented the unity of the boys on the island, and becomes less significant as
savagery takes over the boys. There are rules which are set to help protect human
society. These rules can fall apart. In everyday society there is a set of rules set in
place to protect basic human values. Without these rules the society can fall apart. It
is necessary to understand and to be mindful of one s choices, which could lead to
destruction and
What Is The Mood Of The Poem Blackberry-Picking
In the poem Blackberry Picking, the author discusses the harshness of life by
describing his experience picking blackberries. While the poem is rather dark, he
maintains the message that childish hopes still exist despite the continual blockade of
reality.
In the first stanza, Heaney describes the berry picking as a rather unimportant task.
The blackberries represent the hope and excitement that summer is: summer s blood
was in it (6). The childish hopefulness is expressed in the conversational tone, created
by the syntax found within the rhythm. The author organizes the sentences in a way
that varies the stressed and unstressed syllable to keep the experience of berry
picking casual and light.
The rhyme scheme of AABB keeps a sense of organized structure throughout the
poem.
The author often includes slant rhyme to eliminate the sing song pattern many poems
have: for/hunger (7 8).
The use of descriptive diction allows the reader to clearly visualize the experience.
The clear imagery of the berry s flesh (5) sweetened like thickened wine ... Show

This is paradoxically established when the author says: all the lovely canfuls smelt
of rot (23). The hopes of sweet and lovely blackberries are destroyed by the
inevitable decay of what was sweet and satisfying in the berries. This grim picture
of the destruction of the things we cherish enough to search for even when wet
grass bleached our boots (10), displays a depressing picture of the world around us.
Although human possessions, in this case the berries, do not live forever, the hope
that goodness will carry on is exhibited in the childish hopes that the berries will stay
fresh despite the knowledge that the berries themselves will
True War Story
A characteristic of a true war story is that it is meant to convey an emotion or feeling.
In How to Tell a True War Story, O Brien writes, It comes down to gut instinct. A true
war story, if truly told, makes the stomach believe. One of the emotions that Good
Morning, Vietnam conveys is the conflicted feeling that most Americans had at the
time regarding the government. The VietnamWar was one of the most controversial
conflicts in America s history. The people of the era understandably started holding
dismay towards the government. Soldiers were being involuntarily sent to war to
fight for a cause that most of them did not even understand. The soldiers and
American public began to realize that the United States was the real evil in Vietnam.

He was never sent home and his entire friendship with a Vietnamese boy was
fictional. However, when the real Adrian Cronauer was asked about his feelings
towards the movie, he stated: It was never intended to be a point by point accurate
biography. It was intended to be a piece of entertainment, and it certainly was that. It
was nominated for an Academy Award and you don t get much better than that. Like
the real Cronauer, O Brien is aware that in a true war story nothing much is ever
very true. This is especially evident when taking into consideration that The Things
They Carried is a work of fiction. If the degree of truth in the story determines
whether or not it is a true war story, then The Things They Carried is not a true war
story. Since the book provides the criteria for determining a true war story, if it
itself isn t true then it can t be used as a measure. A true war story isn t meant to be
about war. It s about love and memory, O Brien writes. At the end of the day a true
war story is nothing but a story. Due to the fact that a true war story is meant to
convey a feeling, never seems to end, and has nothing to do with actual truth, Good

Stephen Mays writes an article, What about Gender Roles in Same Sex
Relationships? Mays explains how he overheard a conversation between two

them on the sidewalk. One of them ask Who do you think is the girl in the

the two girls ask a question that most people want to know when they see two gay

Some men goes both ways and sleep with women and men. This is why I believe it
is important to know who is the female in the relationship. For some reason some
people believe the person who is taking it is more gay then the person giving it.I
have no idea why this is, other than personal preference. So many men wear skinny
jeans you can t tell who is who anyways. When it comes to gender norms in this day
and age, the lines become so blurred. When asking the question, is gender based on
biological, social implications, or a combination of both. I believe a combination
of both. As children we are told that girls should act a certain way and boys act
another way. Boy s are taught not to cry and girls should play with doll babies. As
we grow up we try to fit in what s expected of us. A couple of years back, I believe
it was a trend to be gay. Girls was walking around talking like dudes. I would see
them at the mall holding hands and kissing. A guy dressed as a girl for prom won

Plea Bargaining In Criminal Cases
Austin VanDevender Application Assignment #3 A plea bargain is an agreement
between a defendant and a prosecutor; in which the defendant agrees to plead guilty
in exchange for an agreement by the prosecutor to drop one or more charges,
reduce a charge to a less serious offense, or recommend to the judge a specific
sentence acceptable to the defense (Berman, 2016). A great majority of criminal
cases today are actually not decided in courtrooms but are decided by pleabargaining.
There are normally three different types of plea bargaining. The most common type
of plea bargaining is charge bargaining. This is where the defendant agrees to plead
guilty to a lesser charge provided that greater charges will be dismissed (Berman,
2016). An example of this could be getting charged with attempted burglary instead of
burglary. Next is sentence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plea bargaining helps attorneys by saving time. Plea bargaining is generally fast
and efficient. It allows attorneys to focus on bigger, more important cases which
will impact society more. This relieves pressure on attorneys by not having to go
to trial. Also it can impact attorney s salaries. In some cases, it may be in their best
interest to get rid of a case quickly. Many states impose caps on the amount of
allocated to the representation of indigent clients; these amounts do not provide
adequate compensation for the time and expense of bringing a case to trial
(Guidorizzi 1998). The defendant can also benefit from a plea bargain. If the

Japan, South Korean, And American Management Practices
Japan, China, South Korean, and America Management Practices
Every country has different management practices. They all have unique approaches
that have been found to be the most adequate or efficient way in accomplishing
specific objectives. We have heard the English terms culture, management terms, and
business culture, which are commonly used business terms in America. Nonetheless,
we don t have much knowledge about international business terms. International
business terms such as wa , quanxi , and inhwa , which are essential management
terms in Japan, China, and South Korea. In this paper I will be analyzing my findings
on the words culture, management terms, business culture, wa , quanxi , inhwa ,
what would be similar terms to describe American management practices, and if these
terms sufficiently capture American management practices.
Culture is a very broad word with multiple definitions. It can be defined as the
knowledge, experience, beliefs, attitude and values passed from one generation to
another. Culture can also be interpreted as a certain way of thinking and behavior
that prevail in a place or organization. On the other hand, management is the act of
controlling and most importantly making business decisions. Whereas term, is an
expression used to indicate a concept in a specific kind of language or branch of
study. If we combine the two words, management and terms, from the definition
provided, the term refers to certain terminology used in the

my mom and I felt something slimy on my leg. A shiver went up my spine as I
continued to talk to my mom. I feel it again and I looked under water, then I see a

me out.I kept on licking my lips and tasting the fishy water. I saw people mid age

College Essay About Being Under Weight
My physical body was not the greatest, so I had to deal with being scrawny. Being
underweight troubled me a lot back in elementary and middle school. I wanted to
stronger, so I decided to exercise at 10 pm in the house. It was tough for me
because I would be really tired. At the end I stopped exercising and went back to
the way I was. Being underweight for my whole life, I decided to fix it by joining
boxing and it helped dramatically in my physical and mental health. Before joining
boxing, I was very jealous of others being really strong. My sister was able to pick
on me without worrying that I could fight back and mess with her. She would
sometimes ask me to arm wrestle her, and I was the one who would struggle the
most. Also when I m with friends playing a sport or meeting up at a park, I feel
embarrass about being the skinniest person. When my friends play fight I stay back
because I don t want to embarrass myself. I thought about joining boxing, because
I wanted to join a sport and not depend on others to do all the work. Walking in to a
boxing gym on the first day was really hard, I was in no shape to do all the drills they
gave me. Accomplished was what I felt every time I finished exercising and when I
would push myself to the limit. I was really happy... Show more content on

Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game Essay
examples
Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game
In Richard Connell s short story, The Most Dangerous Game ;, the use of literary
devices, found blended with other literary devices, gives the story an inner meaning.
The blending of literary devices effectively expresses the intentions of Connell to
present contrast between the antagonist and protagonist points of view. As a result,
the reader can gain insight on the good and evil sides of the story to enhance the
purpose of his interpretation. The Most Dangerous Game ; by Richard Connell
presents literary devices such as foreshadowing, setting, and irony which reveal the
underlying meaning of the story.
Connell s use of foreshadowing creates an atmosphere of mystery and a hesitant ...

Connell utilizes the strength of the story by combining the setting with mood to
observe the reaction of the characters when the environment around them changes.
For example, as the poisonous [air] ; engulfs the yacht, it gives Whitney a mental
chill; a sort of sudden dread ; as Rainsford and him sail precariously towards the
island (62). Whitney, frightened by the grim nature around him, feels like a
wounded bird fighting for its life among the hungry predators hiding in the
unknown. The shroud of darkness completely surrounds not only Whitney, but the
entire yacht which leaves him in a state of anxiety because of what lies in cover
amid the dreadful island. Furthermore, as the eyes of Zaroff scatter over the island,
searching for Rainsford, Rainsford froze there, every muscle tensed ; afraid that the
eyes will see (73). With shelter high above in the trees, away from Zaroff, Rainsford
awaits for the perfect moment where he will jump down from among the sky and
pounce on Zaroff like a leopard killing its prey. Consequently, while Rainsford keeps
repeating the moment of victory inside his mind; the self confidence, overflowing out
of his veins, develops into uncertainty. Since Zaroff possesses the island and with his
military expertise, scouts the island for any advantages in hunt; Rainsford fears that
Zaroff will counter the surprise attack and kill him, making the hunter become the
prey. When Connell interweaves setting into mood, the method he uses touches
Ww1 Chemical Weapons
The modern use of chemical weapons has been used since World War I. By using
poisonous gas to inflict suffering and significant casualties. For example, chlorine,
phosgene, and mustard gas were used to inflict burns on the skin or as a choking
agent. Since the time of World War I, chemical weapons have impacted more than a
million deaths. But, there are weapons of mass destruction in place used by
terrorists. Weapons of mass destruction include Nuclear, biological, radiological, and

Random Act Of Kindness In Nursing Research Paper
Being a nurse, I perform random acts of kindness everyday. I may not realize it but
just one simple task can brighten up an individuals entire day. I work in long term
care in a nursing home. Many of my residents are at their end of life and do not get
many visitors or phone calls from family. With 27 patients to one nurse it can be
hard to give that special bit of attention to my loving residents, but after a while
you learn to make time for these simple things, even if it s going to get them a fresh
cup of ice water or seconds on desert. However, recently, one task will leave a lasting
impression on me. (The names in this essay have been changed for privacy) Mrs.

couple weeks they also bring fresh flowers and decorate the room. They always
spoke about how much Mrs. Banks enjoyed the outdoors and how they wished she
could go outside if only for a little while. This is when I found the perfect time to
perform my act of kindness. I work every Saturday and Sunday, when management
is not in the facility, so it made it easy to do this with Mrs. Banks. With help from a
few of my fellow nurses we bathed Mrs. Banks, bought her a new sundress, and
carefully lifted her into a recliner chair with wheels that allowed her to be easily
manuvured. Then attentively moved her to our patio area on the rear end of our
facility. She could not speak, but they joy in her eyes said it all. When her daughters
and grandson arrived they seemed concerned when Mrs. Banks was not in her room.
Without saying a word I led them out to our patio where their mother was resting
quietly. The smile had not budged from her wrinkled face. The daughters were
Kodak Options Memo
In my March 6 memo, I discussed the need for Kodak to revamp its core strategy
and regain popularity. Eastman Kodak has been the leader of photography and
printing products for nearly 130 years. Over the last few years Kodak has been in
distress due to its poor fundamental shift into the digital age. Lack of strategic
creativity led Kodak to misunderstand the industry in which it was operating. This
lack of strategic creativity was costly for Kodak.
This memo will explore the options I briefly discussed in the previous memo, in
order to find a solution to this problem. Each option will be assessed based on the
same criteria. The options to consider are:
* Hire a new CEO new bolder leadership * Enter into a new aggressive ... Show more

These profits can be achieved through tracking consumer needs and maintaining
efficiency within the value chain.
The option can revamp its line of attack to surpass current expectations. Though
this option has a high level of risk, if successful, would implement a drastic change
to Kodak s strategy and overall performance for the good of company leaders,
employees, and stakeholders. The new CEO will be evaluated after one year by
leaders, employees, and stakeholders.
Option 2: Enter into a new aggressive market
Kodak currently has no position within the ink market. The ink business is a $45
billion a year sector that could regenerate Kodak s position in the printing sector.
The market for ink is dominated by HP, followed by Epson, Canon, and Lexmark.
Entering a complete new market may be beneficial in its current position. According
to Kodak, the greatest obstacle to printing at home is the cost of ink and supplies.
Kodak can develop a cost efficient solution that will be more appealing to consumers.
With the launch of this product, Kodak must focus on several sectors of business:
marketing, pricing, distribution, and production. Onesource (2011). * Marketing
Kodak is the world s foremost imaging innovator. Its reputation in the film printing
business is dominant. Introducing a new line of cost efficient printer ink will be
effective and popular. Kodak s target market will include anyone with a household

Video Games in Education
Since the Early 70 s video games have been giving a bad name. Parents state that
video games rot the minds of children and are influencing them do be violent.
These accusations are far from the truth. In my research I found that there are many
positive effects of gaming. Some of these effects are increased skills, creativity,
general knowledge, and also help those in need. Parents can also take proper
precautions and look into a game before buying it to see if it meets the criteria
discussed in this paper. Videogames challenge the player and expand his ability to

Video games are and interactive environment with a low cost and absolutely no

(Video games act as educational tools). Games are worlds in which anything can
be done, and the player is exposed to creativity with no limitations. When this
creativity is exposed over and over, the creativity becomes stronger. Even very
violent games like Grand Theft Auto 3, have educational background to them, this
game allows the player to determine what type of person he will become. Gee goes
on to say that everybody plays that game (Grand Theft Auto 3) differently, they re
getting to explore identities, values, and ideologies. (Video games act as
educational tools). Also historical games such as Medal of Honor and Battlefield
1942, involve players into battles that happened in World War 2. I have learned about
many battles while playing these games. I realize after playing, what type of climate
the solders endured, what they fought against, and what was need to be done in order
to win. These games give an accurate portrait of what the battle may have looked like,
including bullets, expulsions, and historically accurate vehicles. Games like these
show the students what they are actually learning. Also when the students tend to
want to learn more about a particular battle, and remember information easily. Some

How Did The Colonists Live The Life Of Colonial America
When the first thirteen colonies were formed in America, the inhabitants did not
live an easy life. They were pushed around by Britain and it s troops, because they
had less power. After being ruled by Great Britain for too long, most of the
colonists decided that it was time to fight back. They would soon start a war with
Britain that some thought was impossible for the colonists. This series of battles
would be known as the Revolutionary war. When Great Britain controlled the
colonies, the Colonists could not live the life they wanted to. They had low paying
jobs, were not treated well by the king and his soldiers, and on top of that Britain
posted extra taxes on goods. The colonists were already poor from low pay jobs, so
taxes just added
Sophie Germain Essay
Marie Sophie Germain was born in Rue Saint Denis, Paris, France, on April 1,
1776, in a wealthy Persian family. Ambroise Francois, her father, was a rich man
who was assumed to be a wealthy silk merchant, or a goldsmith. Ambroise was
elected as the representative of the bourgeoisie to Etats GГ©nГ©raux en 1789,
which had involved his daughter to witness many discussions with her father and his
peers. When she was 13, The French Revolution broke out. Enforcing her to remain
indoors,as she turned to her father s library to take away her boredom where she
became interested in mathematics. Pouring her time into each book as she had taught
herself Latin and Greek, allowing her to read other famous mathematicians work such
as Isaac Newton.

She published philosophical works clarifying facts and generalizing the into laws
to form a system of sociology and psychology. Years later, Germain was the first
person to provide proof of Fermat s Last Theorem, that has been a struggle for
mathematicians for the past 200 years. That if xn + yn = zn, then neither x, y, nor z
can be a natural number if n is greater than 2, stated from Fermat s Last Theorem
(Barrow Green). Germain used her proficiency on prime numbers to help to prove
this theorem. Successful from her work, she published her deeds in a supplement to
her acquaintance Adrien Marie Legendre s work ThГ©orie des nombres. (The
Remarkable Life of Sophie Germain) Despite her achievements, in 1829, she
discovered that she had breast cancer. She continued her work and published her
deeds on the curvature of elastic surfaces and also published principles of
examination that later led to the discovery of the laws of equilibrium and the
movement of elastic solids. (Famous Mathematicians Sophie Germain) In addition,
one of her earliest mentors, Gauss, convinced the University of Gottingen to give
Sophie an honorary degree, but before she could receive it, she died on June 27,1831,
at the age of 55 to only be seen as a single woman with no
Essay on Intro to Business
No one can predict a natural disaster or world crisis. When a hurricane or flood or a
pandemic strikes a country, who is most likely to respond first? Which economic
system is the best solution for handling a crisis of epic proportion? When a natural
disaster occurs the local people are typically the first to respond. This could be
local citizens, fire departments, police, or anyone who is in the immediate area and
also the local government. They help to search for living people and try to rescue
and aid as many victims as possible. National non profit organizations like the Red
Cross and other Non Government Organizations (NGO s) are normally on the scene
relatively quickly to try to ease the suffering and aid in the humanitarian causes...

A mixed economy would have more financial resources to expend because of the
higher taxation on items for defense and the common welfare. What advantages
might a socialist system have in responding to the needs of people struck by an
emergency situation like the earthquake that occurred in Haiti in January of 2010?
A socialist system would have a few advantages that would not be available to
other systems as a result of their complete control of the country. A perfect example
would be in the handling of food and other supplies in the aftermath of the
catastrophe. Nickels et al. (2010) shows that in a socialist country the ownership of
the major businesses is done by the people. Since the people control the major
businesses, they also control the items that they produce. A socialist economy
promotes equality and they have higher taxes. This enables a socialist system to
have the resources that will be needed in the aftermath of a crisis. The system would
control the products and the capital needed to provide humanitarian aid, basic
necessities, and the money to re build. Nickels et al. (2010) shows that in a capitalist
society, that would not be the case. Major corporations are controlled by the private
sector and the taxes tend to be allocated for other things. In the current economy it
would be extremely difficult to find additional funding without
Software Is Tightly Integrated With The Matlab
Environment
Simulink software is tightly integrated with the MATLAB environment. It requires
MATLAB to run, depending on it to define and evaluate model and block parameters.
Simulink can also utilize many MATLAB features. For example, Simulink can use
the MATLAB environment to:
Define model inputs.
Store model outputs for analysis and visualization.
Perform functions within a model, through integrated calls to MATLAB operators
and functions
Concept of signal and logic flow:
In Simulink, data/information from various blocks is sent to another block by lines
connecting the relevant blocks. Signals can be generated and fed into blocks
dynamic / static).Data can be fed into functions. Data can then be dumped into sinks,
which could be scopes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unused signals must be terminated, to prevent warnings about unconnected signals.
Sources and sinks
Continuous and discrete systems:
All dynamic systems can be analyzed as continuous or discrete time systems.
Simulink allows you to represent these systems using transfer functions, integration
blocks, delay blocks etc.
continous and descrete systems
Non linear operators:
A main advantage of using tools such as Simulink is the ability to simulate non linear
systems and arrive at results without having to solve analytically. It is very difficult
to arrive at an analytical solution for a system having non linearities such as
saturation, signup function, limited slew rates etc. In Simulation, since systems are
analyzed using iterations, non linearities are not a hindrance. One such could be a
saturation block, to indicate a physical limitation on a parameter, such as a voltage
signal to a motor etc. Manual switches are useful when trying simulations with
different cases. Switches are the logical equivalent of if then statements in
programming. simulink blocks
Mathematical operations:
Mathematical operators such as products, sum, logical operations such as and, or,
etc. .can be programmed along with the signal flow. Matrix multiplication becomes
easy with the matrix gain block. Trigonometric functions such as sin or tan inverse
(at an) are also available. Relational operators such as equal to , greater than etc. can
also be used in logic
The Importance Of The Secondary Modality ( Auditory )
Participants 20 [right handed] healthy adults (7 females; mean age of 23.6 years;
19 34 years range) participated in the study after giving written informed consent
as approved by [University, Program]. Each participant had normal or corrected to
normal vision and normal hearing. None of the subjects had current or prior
neurological or psychiatric illnesses. Task and Procedure Essential idea in this
study is to pin down the role of the secondary modality (auditory) in a particular
percept (of timing) of another primary modality (visual) by systematically varying
the a property (stimulus onset) of the secondary modality as a factor, while
keeping stimulus in the primary modality same. Therefore, this study focuses on
the perceived time of a visual event, since only one flashing bar was shown as the
primary modality. As for the secondary modality, physical time onsets of the clicks
were modulated, as shown in [figure 01 design]. In the time course of a trial, a
visual bar was flashed either to left or to right of a central fixation point as visual
event. In order to keep the attention of the participant in the task, participants were
requested to indicate the location of the bar (forced choice task) whenever they see
one, by a key press. Reaction times of participants were an indicator of the timing of
the perception, therefore participants were also asked to respond as fast as possible
without making errors. Besides visual bar, a brief static click was introduced through
Special Needs For Special Education
Introduction/Purpose
Fitzgerald, Ryan Fitzgerald (2015) reported that it has been an increase of children
identified with special education needs in different countries in Europe. One of the
explanation for this influx is the definition of special needs recently changed, which
caused more children to fall under that category. Since more children qualify for
special education, professionals and parents need training and guidance on meeting
the needs of those students. In Ireland, there is a challenge in finding the best
comprehensive and coordinated Early Intervention (EI) service because EI models
varies in different areas, which cause inconsistencies (Fitzgerald et al., 2015). The
two models that are mostly used in Ireland are the multidisciplinary team approach
(MDA) and the transdisciplinary team approach (TDA). Some of the functions and
characteristics of the MDA are the team members assess, create goals, work with
and evaluate the child separately. In addition, the team provides home visits. Some
of the functions and characteristics of the TDA approach are team members
collaborate with each other, the team members cross disciplinary boundaries to
increase communication and one team member is designated as a key worker,
which is someone who is available as a link for families attending EI services
(Fitzgerald et al., 2015, p.200).The purpose of this study is to discover parents
experiences with EI models to identify efficient and effective strategies to implement

Exploring the Mormons Essay
Exploring the Mormons
Who were the Mormons?
The Mormons were a very different to other people they had a communal life and
this means they try to get other people to follow there religion. The man who
founded the Mormons was Joseph smith a son of a poor family in Vermont. Joseph
smith claimed he saw a vision of an angel in 1823 called Moroni. The vision he had
told him to find some secret hidden golden plates in a hillside called Cumorah in
Palmyra, in the New York state. The plates were then kept hidden for four years,
smith found the plates and four years later he translated what it said on them behind a
curtain, the inscription was written in the book of Mormon published in 1830. There

The first objective smith was to accomplish was to build the HOLY CITY (city of
god). This was not going to be an easy task, Catholics attacked the Mormons
because of there different beliefs. Joseph smith plotted there first temple, after
smith founded a bank for Mormons and non Mormons but through a financial
crisis the bank collapsed. The Mormons were driven out by the non Mormons to
Kirtland; Joseph smith led the Mormons to Missouri where missionaries had
already created a small village. At first the Mormons wasn t accepted for there
religious differences, the people in the community were suspicious of the
Mormon leaders which they believed in communal ownership of there property.
Most Mormons came from the north so they didn t like slavery, and the farmers in
Missouri owned slaves so there were a lot of problems in the community. Violence
increased in the area and fights broke out, so the Mormons created a police force
called the Danites, they believed they were going to win the support of the Indian
tribes. When the Mormons left Missouri they went to Nauvoo Illinois led by smith.
In 1842 the Mormons army was at the size of 2,000. Some rumours were spread that
the Mormons would take over the United States of America because Joseph smith
made a run for president. In the month June 1844 smith and his brother, Hyrum were
sent to prison. From then on the race was run by Brigham

  • 2. An Analysis Of BeyoncГ© s Song Formation African American music artists tend to have to use their work to voice some of the struggles their heritage has faced in the past. Artists like BeyoncГ© and J. Cole have been known to release songs that evoke much emotion. BeyoncГ© in particular released a highly controversial music video for her song Formation the day before she was set to perform at the Super Bowl 50. Formation is a bold, five minute video that displays a glimpse of some important events in African American history, but also consists of elements of BeyoncГ© s personal life. BeyoncГ© uses controversial lyrics to verbally represent who she is and visual imagery to illustrate a higher social message. From to scene to scene, BeyoncГ© is seen in different clothing and in a different time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... BeyoncГ© knows how to spark an argument, and what kind of black anthem would Formation be if the black lives matter movement was not featured. In the video, a scene flashes to a little boy dressed in a black hoodie. The black hoodie is most definitely a nod to the shooting of Trayvon Martin, who was an African American teenage boy who was shot by a cop. He claimed Martin, which was wearing a black hoodie, looked suspicious. With that said, the boy in the video is freestyle dancing without a care in the world. Across from the boy is a line of cops in typical formation. At the end, the boy spreads his arms out and the cops put their hands up. BeyoncГ© is making a suggestion as to the practice law enforcement should take. Cops purpose are to protect and serve, but at times they deviate. Often times, it has been reported that African Americans were shot after they surrendered. After the boy puts his hands up, a wall with the words stop shooting us spray painted appears. African Americans feel the need to literally beg for officers of law enforcement to give them break and stop shooting them. The emotion those simple words evoke is

Daniel was taken captive because he fit in the standards, which the king was searching for: young men, good looking and smart. During the time of captivity, Daniel, the author of the book of the Bible with the same name, writes about the dreams, visions and situations he passed in the course of the captivity. Indeed Daniels actions reflected the way he faced the situations, showed how he feared and was obedient to God, even when he was placed in a room full of lions or into a furnace of blazing fire. Daniel s character was tested when he decided not to eat the king s food and proposed to the commander of the officials to eat something different to see they would be healthier and better looking than the ones eating from the king s chosen food. After a week eating vegetables, Daniel was healthier and better looking than the other youth. By choosing not to eat the food from the king s table Daniel was being obedient to God s word because the food chosen by the king was dedicated to the Babylonian s gods, probably were from unclean animals and the blood was not taken out. Daniel received the name Belteshazzar because of the Babylonian s gods either Marduk, or Nebo conceivably to incorporate the culture of the Babylonians and their pagan s gods. God provided Daniel with intelligence, wisdom and a special gift: the understanding of all kinds of visions and dreams and as a result of that, Daniel was the one God chose to interpret the dreams of, the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. The Bible says the king was distressed and wanted to kill every wise men of Babylon, therefore Daniel was one of the wise men. Nearly every aspect of self driving cars needs improvement, and is a potential treasure trove for research. I think my choice is complex enough to be useful, yet still narrow enough to be completed in approximately two years. One of the most frustratingly difficult problems for autonomous vehicles is obstacle detection and avoidance. For cars especially, the diversity of the types of obstacles they may come across is what really breaks down even the most complicated detection methods. The first way is fusing the standard camera data stream with that of a forward looking infrared (FLIR) system. FLIR systems have been used for years by the military to detect enemy combatants and vehicles via their heat signatures. The major advantage of this approach is that it works just as well, if not better, during the night. While a standard camera produces a large amount of low light noise, infrared cameras can produce high resolution images which can be used for accurate obstacle detection. I plan to use the fused data for feature extraction with a suite of image processing methods, such as Canny edge detection. Finally, I plan to use the extracted features to classify them with common methods such as neural networks or SVMs. I expect this phase of my research to take one to one and a half years, because it relies on proven technology being used in a new
  • 7. The Use Of Supernatural In Macbeth In the tragedy Macbeth, Shakespeare s use of the supernatural to develop themes relating to human emotion is evident. A large portion of the play is based around the supernatural s role of pre ordaining Macbeth s fate, and his free will to believe in such predictions. Supernatural occurrences, such as the appearance of Banquo s ghost in particular, personify Macbeths guilt and conscience. Supernatural beings, such as the three witches, appear throughout the play as recurring symbols for the themes of Macbeth. In addition to these symbols and appearances, the characters of Macbeth themselves make references to and call on the supernatural, to the point of taking on characteristics of evil and supernatural. One of the earliest scenes of Macbeth depicts the three witches predicting the fate of Banquo and Macbeth. During this scene, the witches establish that Macbeth will become king, while Banquo s children will later become kings. Lesser than Macbeth, and greater. Not so happy, yet much happier. Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none. So all hail Macbeth and Banquo. (Shakespeare. 1.3, 63 66.) Although at first Macbeth and Banquo both jest over this prediction, over the course of the play Macbeth begins to believe the prophecies made by the three witches. If he used his hypothetical knowledge of Bancroft s double crossing for his own purposes it would have surely put him back into the United States favor. Biology Neoteny Axolotls have a neotenic nature which means they do not undergo metamorphosis and stay in the larval state their entire lives (Jolles, 2013). The adaptation of neoteny is often referred to as a backward step in evolution since it prevents axolotls from living on land like other salamanders (Clare, 1999). All salamanders are born in water, but only some stay while others congregate to land once they are adults. Those that stay in the water for their entire lives are considered aquatic salamanders, while the ones that move to land at some point are either semi aquatic or terrestrial (Masters, 2016). Axolotls are considered aquatic salamanders since they will remain in water due to their neoteny. They will grow to an average adult size for a salamander, but their limbs will remain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Axolotls often lose limbs because they mistake them for food or play too roughly with other salamanders, but they can easily regrow the lost parts within a short span of a couple weeks. The regeneration occurs from the formation of a bud at the end of the damaged limb, which is where the lost portion will grow back (Clare, 1999). Axolotls can regrow skin, feet, entire limbs, jaws, and portions of their brain and spine. They can also receive transplanted organs from other Mexican salamanders, and their bodies will easily accept the transplants without rejection (Lewis, 2013). This strange ability relies entirely on the axolotls immune systems; immune cells called macrophages are fully responsible for the regeneration process of missing body parts. Macrophages are also present in mammals, where they help heal a sudden injury or wound. That mechanism is the same in axolotls, but rather than just healing a wound, it fully regenerates the lost limb (Lewis,

Traditional on campus classes are those in which a student earns a diploma or a degree in a classroom environment taught by a professor. Students are provided with high amounts of social interaction with students and faculty to prepare them for careers outside of the classroom. From the time children are enrolled in kindergarten up to graduation, the familiarity of a classroom atmosphere sets up structural support to help them through their studies as well as provide students a sense of societal discipline. Traditional on campus classes are more beneficial to a student s education than online courses. Traditional classes provide unmatched face to face interaction with professors and classmates. The second is the orthodoxy. This would go without saying that any canonical book must be orthodox because God would not permit his word to teach falsehood but only the truth. The positive or strengths would be that the criterion had to be orthodox or they would be disregard and not worth and disqualified material by this application of whether or not it was orthodox. The negative or weakness would be that anything that would violate the orthodox would not be viewed as a canonical. This was demonstrated in the early church and they did not handle the criterion easily because of their lack of wanting to acknowledge the Hebrews and the reservation about Revelations (Nicole, 1997). However, the Catholics from New Spain and New France wanted to either convert the Native Americans into Christians or establish some Christian influence in North America. In addition, they had very different views on what the Native Americans were and how to treat them. In New Spain, they saw them strictly as savages that were either supposed to be saved by converting them into Christians or killed and conquered. In New England, their view of them was originally positive because they were given assistance to survive on the colonies, but they did become enemies due to their greed. In New France, their view was very positive as they tried to make an alliance with the natives due to the Indians involvement in the fur trade. Crucial Roles Of Women And Children During The Romantic Era The Crucial Role of Women and Children in the Romantic Era During the Romantic era, the role of women and children were both crucial to society. William Blake is an advocate for children s rights, Mary Wollstone Craft is an advocate for equal rights of women, and William Wordsworth portrays the women s role, if they were no male figure. William Blake is a Romantic poet who advocated heavily for children s rights. He got the American people to believe they would fight a war to make the world safe for democracy and forever peaceful. Out of Wilson s idealism came his fourteen points, which he presented to Congress in January of 1918. This appealed to people everywhere by promising such objectives as ending secret treaties, freedom of the seas, and removing economic barriers. His fourteenth point was the League of Nations, which was rejected by the Senate. He did however get the Treaty of Versailles accomplished during his term in June of 1919. Wilson wanted to remain neutral. However, this proved to be increasingly impossible.

The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice Model Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how preferences of residential location are different among age and income groups. Stratifying the sample of households by age and income is helpful to identify some of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among different market segments as well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist between different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably well as shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age groups have different residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the access to employment is statistically significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job opportunity is an important factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for the young and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to prefer the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not statistically significant. Rather, land price is positive and significant in Group 2, which means they are likely to choose the location where land price is high. This may be because most households in Group 2 consider their children s education in their residential location decision. William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies, demonstrates to its readers that the conch shell symbolized leadership and authority, as the characters exposed their inner savages. When Jack and his tribe apparted from Ralph s group, they began to disobey all of Ralph s rules that they set for the island, including the conch. Although Jack knew that Ralph was the leader of the island, he decided he could violate the conch s purpose. Golding showed to his readers how Jack was ignorant of the value of the conch by having Jack say, Conch! Conch! shouted Jack. We don t need the conch anymore. We know who ought to say things, (Golding 101 102). Ralph became furious at Jack for not obeying the power of the conch. Their groups now became segregated. Later, Ralph and Piggy were arguing against Jack s tribe at the Castle Rock, and Ralph has witnessed something he wishes he never had to see. What he saw was the horrifying death of Piggy, who was holding the conch in his arms, which got demolished as well. When boys went full savage, they go forward and the rock struck Piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee; the conch exploded into a thousand white fragments and ceased to exit (Golding 181). The conch shell was first an essential to the unity and value for the boys when they first arrived on this island. Now they have not only lost the conch, but Piggy as well. In William Golding s Lord of the Flies, it is clearly presented that the conch shell represented the unity of the boys on the island, and becomes less significant as savagery takes over the boys. • 37. What Is The Mood Of The Poem Blackberry-Picking In the poem Blackberry Picking, the author discusses the harshness of life by describing his experience picking blackberries. While the poem is rather dark, he maintains the message that childish hopes still exist despite the continual blockade of reality. In the first stanza, Heaney describes the berry picking as a rather unimportant task. The blackberries represent the hope and excitement that summer is: summer s blood was in it (6). The childish hopefulness is expressed in the conversational tone, created by the syntax found within the rhythm. The author organizes the sentences in a way that varies the stressed and unstressed syllable to keep the experience of berry picking casual and light. The rhyme scheme of AABB keeps a sense of organized structure throughout the poem. The author often includes slant rhyme to eliminate the sing song pattern many poems have: for/hunger (7 8). It was intended to be a piece of entertainment, and it certainly was that. It was nominated for an Academy Award and you don t get much better than that. Like the real Cronauer, O Brien is aware that in a true war story nothing much is ever very true. This is especially evident when taking into consideration that The Things They Carried is a work of fiction. If the degree of truth in the story determines whether or not it is a true war story, then The Things They Carried is not a true war story. Since the book provides the criteria for determining a true war story, if it itself isn t true then it can t be used as a measure. A true war story isn t meant to be about war. It s about love and memory, O Brien writes. At the end of the day a true war story is nothing but a story. Plea Bargaining In Criminal Cases Austin VanDevender Application Assignment #3 A plea bargain is an agreement between a defendant and a prosecutor; in which the defendant agrees to plead guilty in exchange for an agreement by the prosecutor to drop one or more charges, reduce a charge to a less serious offense, or recommend to the judge a specific sentence acceptable to the defense (Berman, 2016). A great majority of criminal cases today are actually not decided in courtrooms but are decided by pleabargaining. There are normally three different types of plea bargaining. The most common type of plea bargaining is charge bargaining. This is where the defendant agrees to plead guilty to a lesser charge provided that greater charges will be dismissed (Berman, 2016). Plea bargaining is generally fast and efficient. It allows attorneys to focus on bigger, more important cases which will impact society more. This relieves pressure on attorneys by not having to go to trial. Also it can impact attorney s salaries. In some cases, it may be in their best interest to get rid of a case quickly. Many states impose caps on the amount of allocated to the representation of indigent clients; these amounts do not provide adequate compensation for the time and expense of bringing a case to trial (Guidorizzi 1998). The defendant can also benefit from a plea bargain. If the defendant pleads guilty without a trial then the prosecutor can drop one or more charges, reduce the charge, or recommend a specific sentence. Lastly the victim can also benefit from plea bargaining. A plea bargain can bring closure to the victim by knowing the person who is guilty is not getting away with the crime, Also the victim will not have to worry about testifying. (Guidorizzi

Special Needs For Special Education Introduction/Purpose Fitzgerald, Ryan Fitzgerald (2015) reported that it has been an increase of children identified with special education needs in different countries in Europe. One of the explanation for this influx is the definition of special needs recently changed, which caused more children to fall under that category. Since more children qualify for special education, professionals and parents need training and guidance on meeting the needs of those students. In Ireland, there is a challenge in finding the best comprehensive and coordinated Early Intervention (EI) service because EI models varies in different areas, which cause inconsistencies (Fitzgerald et al., 2015).
