What Is The Porter s Five Forces Of The Beer Industry
Abstract:The beer industry in the United States is continually changing and therefore companies in
this industry must be versatile. Their versatility comes in a variety of forms, from changing their
product offering, to changing their strategic goals, and finally, recognizing opportunities and
threats. This paper explores many aspects of the industry though the use of Porter s five forces
model. I will analyze the internal rivalry present in the industry, any buyer or supplier power that is
present, entry barriers that exist, and any substitutes and threats that face the industry. Furthermore,
I will closely analyze the effect that craft brewers and microbreweries have had on the industry. It is
my contention that craft brewers have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anheuser Busch has been a publicly traded company since 1875 and today is still a staple of the
New York Stock Exchange. Anheuser Bush has consistently outperformed the S P 500, as can
be seen in Chart 4. Its return on equity in 2003 was 78.7% while the industry and the S P 500
were 24.2 and 13.7 respectively.3 Anheuser Busch outperforms the industry and the S P 500 on
many other levels as well. Anheuser Busch currently enjoys a net income growth rate of 10.5%
over the last three years while the industry lags at 7.5%. The S P 500 experienced a negative
growth rate for the last three years. Anheuser Busch also enjoys larger profit margins than the
industry and the S P 500. Financial information not covered in this portion of this paper is provided
by Valueline in the Appendix under table 3.
Anheuser Busch obviously outperforms the industry and the S P 500 in most facets of the market
place. Its sales, currently above $16 billion, are unmatched in the industry. It has continued to be
innovative in all the businesses they own, which is made apparent later in this paper. This has
allowed them to grow faster than competitors and stay ahead of the pack by large margins.
Anheuser Busch is the benchmark around which this paper is built.
Porter s Five Forces Model and Market Structure
This paper focuses heavily on Porter s five forces model for evaluating the beer industry. The Porter

United States Supreme Court History
The history of the United States Supreme Court dates back to 1789 when George Washington
signed the Judiciary Act of 1789 that was passed by congress. This act established the United States
Supreme Court, the highest court in America and the Appellate court for civil cases and for cases
state ruled on federal statues. Sense the beginning of the United StatesSupreme Court there have
been many changes to their practices, but there are still a few that have stand the test of time.
Between the increase and decreasing of the number of Justices, and the few traditions that still
stand today, you can definitely say the United States Supreme Court has a fascinating history and
so very interesting facts. Justices are appointed by the President and serve for life or until they
choose to retire. In the case of a Chief Justice passing away or retiring, the President appoints a
new Chief Justice. When the Supreme Court was original made in 1790 there were originally six
Justice s, one Chief Justice and five Associate Justices. The number of Justices has change
throughout the years, ranging between six to ten Justices. In 1807 the number of... Show more

with each other. This practice started when Chief Justice Melvelle W. Fuller wanted to show that
even though the Justices may have a different of opinions, that they are still united as one. Two
hundred years ago, white quill pens were place on the council s tables in the court, and while the
quill pens may not be used, as often today, the pens are more of a souvenir now for the

Was Texas really apart of the United States before the war? In 1821 Mexico got their

One reason the Mexican war was not justified was Mexico got their independence a few years

The Anti-Intellectual Movement
Week four s essay finds inspiration from the anti intellectual movement. The essay titled Anti
Intellectualism in American Life by Richard Hofstadter defines the anti intellectual movement. The
anti intellectual movement began in the 1950 s primarily as McCarthyism the belief that the mind
was at ruinous discount (Hofstadter 3). Additionally, Merriam Webster.com further defines the anti
intellectual movement as opposing or hostile to intellectuals or an intellectual view or approach
(Merriam Webster). The anti intellectual movement impacted social, economic, education, politics,
art genres. Today the discussion focuses on Exhibit H. in the Hofstadter s text on page fourteen .

Many of the Avante Garde contemporary art were either laughed about in cartoon strips, puzzled
viewers or made them angry. The American people felt the European art often relished by wealthy
art connoisseurs was a step backward in American culture. Moreover, several Americans found the
primitive, distorted imagery threatening to American civilization and the United States progress.
Also many American s were afraid the art form itself represented an adaptation to modern society.
The Armory show had political undertones. The Armory show happened during a time politically
when woman fought for their rights In 1913, women took to the streets, too with political and
social causes. Women marched in the streets not only for the right to vote, for open marriages,
contraception, and the right to have children out of wedlock (Stamberg). The Armory show also
transpired during the industrialization movement. Thus electric trains pulled out of Grand Central
Station for the first time, and New York was bursting with immigrants. New York City during this
time was the leading example of the Fresh and the Modern society (Stamberg). The modern style
of art is contrary to America and Dondero s view. The contemporary art movement objectively sent
a powerful message of freedom. The Armory show was about new ways

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of

whole society is concerned, therefore, health and wellbeing should be everyone business, starting

The health and wellbeing strategy implemented in Wales is a wakeup call, showing how health and

health and wellbeing are everyone business; as such everyone should do what it costs to contribute

To start with we are providing the bicycles to girls who may drop out because higher secondary
school is far and there is no public transport and their parents cannot afford to buy bicycle. We
have started the program of adopting girl child and providing bicycles our fifteen self help group
have adopted ten girl child and have made bicycle available to them. Once they are in the school,
then the second move would be to provide books. We have already started providing the books,
in 2002; we provided books to 56 girls. As the magnitude of the problem is very high, NGO has
plan out the program with the coordination of the micro credit program, which is discussed below.
Book banks:
Many children in urban areas buy books and they either sell off their books, if students are
appealed to donate the books, we can be able to generate books for the needy and even buy new
books if needed, local donors can help us in this matter. Self help groups will take Book bank
responsibility with the senior students; this will also create the atmosphere of promoting education
in the villages.
Monitoring of the drop out of girls students from the school:

King Louis XIV helped usher in the golden age of literature into France. He created institutions

The Philosophy of Film
The philosophy of film is a quickly developing area of philosophical and aesthetic research.
Philosophers have focused both on stylish issues about film as a creative medium the theory of
film and addresses about the philosophical substance of films films as philosophy. Thomas E.
Wartenberg (Professor of philosophyat Mount Holyoke College) did a great job in showing when a
film illustrates a philosophic claim and how The Matrix make contribution to philosophy. In this
paper, I will look at another film, Blade Runner, to see the connection between philosophy and film,
then discuss the question: Are the Replicants human?
Wartenberg addressed the question: Can philosophy be screened? (pg. 272) He then used thought
experiment as a way that a film can represent philosophy. So what is thought experiment ? Thought
examinations include nonexistent situations in which the audience are asked to envision what
things might be similar to if such and such were the situation. The individuals who feel that
movies can really do philosophy show that fiction films can work as philosophical thought
experiments and consequently qualify as philosophical. Wartenberg argues that it some fiction
films as working in ways that thought experiments do, and thus they may be seen as doing
philosophy. (pg. 276) He uses Wachowski Brothers 1999 hit, The Matrix as his example. The film
addresses part of a big philosophical question, which is what is reality? What we see on screen is a

Stereotypes Report
Put an Asian in a fight and expect him to use his expert martial art skills. He ll pull out his
nunchucks, put his hands into fists, and yell Ha ya! while charging at his opponent at full speed.
Then he ll karate chop him and land his foot on his opponent s face. This is one of many
stereotypes Asians are associated with. Stereotypesare standardized, preconceived notions or
images invested with a common group of people. In other words, stereotypes are oversimplified
opinions about a group of people or things who share similar characteristics such as race and
gender. Stereotypes are common in society today. Being an Asian American like other races come

Some examples of positive stereotypes are that Asians are good at math or men are good leaders.
Yet, positive stereotypes have negative effects. In January of 2013, John Oliver Siy and Sapna
Cheryan conducted multiple experiments to answer the question, If hearing a negative stereotype
about your group gets you upset, does hearing a positive stereotype have the opposite effect? In
one study, an Asian and White participant were to fill out a packet. One packet had math
problems and the other had verbal problems. The White participant was given the choice to
decide who did what packet. Then he told the Asian, I know all Asians are good at math. How
about you take the math packet. I ll work on this one. Being a math genius categorizes as a positive
stereotype which should make an Asian feel good about themselves. Instead, when the participants
were asked how they felt after the activity, the Asian said he felt disregarded and depersonalised.
When the positive stereotype was used in this situation, the Asian participant felt less like an
individual. This study showed how positive stereotypes are not always positive and how they can

Characteristics Of Shaping The Colonies
Shaping the Colonies
Within a span of 300 years, Europe found itself bombarded by domestic disputes and expansionist
curiosity. From the initial expedition by Christopher Columbus in 1492 having sparked European
interests in the Americas, a beacon of freedom sparked the minds of iconoclasts who sought the
new land during a period of time marked by religious tyranny, ongoing wars, and the greed for
resources. Colonial America from the sixteenth to seventeenth centuries was shaped by the hunger
for freedom from the English monarchy in terms of worship and self government.
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue... Indians! Indians! Columbus cried; His heart was filled
with joyful pride. But India the land was not... The primary school song celebrates the Spanish
explorer but detracts from the motive behind the joyful pride. The fifteenth century was the
beginning of the Age of Exploration for the Portuguese, who dominated international trade by the
sixteenth century. The allure of South African gold, slaves, and ivory and the rich spices and gold
of India tempted the Spanish, the English, the French, and the Dutch to compete in the race for
global riches. Christopher Columbus responded to the opportunity after Ferdinand II of Aragon
and Isabella of Castile exiled 200,000 Jews and defeated the last of Muslim forces in Granada to
restore Christianity in Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. With the Spanish monarchy re

Mackenzie Siverson Ms. Firavanti English 2H October 2014 As a child, we are taught honesty is

benefits and consequences of it. The girls of Salem, being accused of witchery is often faced with
the choice to lie or tell the truth about the actions and choices they made, and it would be the

The Minor Prophet Hosea As A Young Man Lived Near Soil

The Minor Prophet Hosea
The Prophet Hosea is believed to the successor of the Prophet Amos. Hosea was the only writing
prophet of Israel to Israel. The name Hosea (Heb., Hoshea) means salvation. It is interesting to
observe that the names Joshua (Num 13:16) and Jesus (Matt 1:21) are derived from the same
Hebrew root as Hosea. (Jensen, 6739) His father name Beeri, a middle class merchant, a farmer or
cattleman. It is uncertain about the born place of Hosea; it could have been in a town of Ephraim
or Manasseh. Due to his style of writing, the Prophet Hosea as a young man lived near soil.
Hosea most likely did not attend a school of prophets, or have any formal training in a school of
the prophets, but you could not tell that he did not go to the school of prophets. Hosea writing
was abrupt, short, and sharp. His writings show him to be a very knowledgeable man. Scroggie
says, His message is one of the most profound and spiritual in the Old Testament. (Scroggie). The
heartbeat of God is the tone of the author, throughout the book. He declared the words of thus saith
the LORD several times. (Jensen, 6780) It is not known originally, when God called him to be a
prophet.
Hosea may have been one with tender hearted prophets toward Israel. He had many titles as a
prophet, the prophet of the broken heart; the weeping prophet; and the prophet of Israel s zero hour,
because the nation had sunk to

Decius tries to convince Caesar that Rome will be prosperous, and will benefit greatly from
Caesar s reign. Decius Brutus cherry tops the subject by stating that if Caesar were to go, he
would be crowned king. After hearing Decius s explanation, Caesar realizes how foolish he was
for believing his wife. Caesar advances the plot by deciding that he will go to the Capitol,
despite anything that Calpurnia says. As Brutus prepares to leave, he openly greets the other
conspirators, completely unaware of their evil plans. Throughout the scene, three main
characters, and five minor characters speak. Caesar speaks the most, with a total of sixteen
times. He speaks every other person, and usually talks for several lines at a time. Calpurnia,
talks a total of five times and, like Caesar, also speaks for several lines. Decius Brutus speaks a
total of four different times, and only says a few lines each time. The servant, a minor character,
speaks on three different occasions, but only for about two lines. Brutus, a minor character in this
scene, speaks twice and only talks for about one line each time. Trebonius, Pubilus, and Antony all

Group Development And Interaction Theory Essay
Group Development and Interaction Theory
Within the business setting, the shift from yesterday s singular culture to today s team culture has
brought about a new era of learning, development, and innovation. However, this shift has also
brought with it a certain amount of dissatisfaction, conflict, and confusion. This paper will focus on
the Tuckman Theory, and discuss how Tuckman s five stages of group development and interaction
applies to the work environment and leadership effectiveness.
The Tuckman Theory
Tuckman s theory maintains that groups enter four foreseeable and elementary stages of
development, and each of these stages contain both task and maintenance functions. These stages

Storming. When important issues are beginning to be addressed within the team, the patience of
some team members may begin to break down and confrontations begin. The majority of these
initial confrontations may relate to the work of the group itself, or to roles and responsibilities
within the group. However, most of these minor confrontations will be taken lightly or dealt with
promptly.
In order to progress to the next stage, group members must move from a testing and proving
mentality to a problem solving mentality. Hopefully, everyone will agree that the most important
thing is to finish the work and agree to work together to solve their problems. It is important to note
that to move on to the next stage group members need the ability to listen to each other (MacLeod,
2002).
Some team members may welcome these minor squabbles in that they can reveal the real issues
among the team, while others will wish they were still in the comfortable confines of forming.
This is also the stage when team members will look for ways to avoid or mediate conflicts more
effectively.
Norming. With conflicts resolved, and the rules of the team established, and the scope of the teams
responsibilities and tasks clear and agreed upon, the team can get to the business at hand. Team
members are once again comfortable with each other as well as his/her skills, knowledge, and
abilities. These feelings

african american religious music Essay
African American religious music is the foundation of all contemporary forms of so called black
music. African American religious music has been a fundamental part of the black experience in
this country. This common staple of the African American experience can be traced back to the
cruel system of slavery. It then evolved into what we refer to today as gospel music. The goal of
this paper is to answer three main questions. What are the origins of AfricanAmerican religious
music? How did this musical expression develop into a secular form of music? What is the future of
African American religious music? These questions will be answered through factual research of
African American traditions, artists, and various other sources.... Show more content on

A spiritual journey dominates these songs, but the concern for physical freedom is there as well.
The most pervasive image in the spirituals is that of the chosen people for the slaves believed that
they had been chosen by God just as the Israelites had. They also believed that they understood
better than anyone what freedom truly meant in both a spiritual and physical sense. The Old
Testament characters that the slaves referred to in their songs experienced deliverance by God.
The slaves believed that the same God that had granted them spiritual freedom would someday
loose the chains of slavery. The wonderful flexibility of the spirituals allowed for that double
meaning of freedom. For example, Frederick Douglass claimed that the line I am bound for
Canaan in one of the songs he frequently sang meant that he was going North, not just that he
would experience the freedom of the promised land in a spiritual sense. The flexibility and
multiplicity of meanings also allowed for slaves to use these sacred songs as secret
communication. Some songs, such as Steal Away to Jesus, were used to call a secret meeting
where the people could worship without the supervision of the whites. Other songs, such as Wade
in the Water served as coded directions for runaway slaves. With the eventual emancipation of the
slaves, religious music of African Americans became prominently

The first article, The Bioarchaeology of Identity in Spanish Colonial Florida: Social and
Evolutionary Transformation Before, During, and After the Demographic Collapse, by Christopher

that his approach is based on the potential contributions to an anthropological study in order to
better identify and construct transformations in La Florida (Stojanowski 2005: 417). He continues

Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Essay
Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object
Schopenhauer makes it clear that he is indebted to Kant for his vision of transcendental idealism,
and that his Critique of Pure Reason [2] is a work of genius. However, Schopenhauer argued that
Kant made many mistakes when formulating his philosophy, and he set about the task of
uncovering them in his Criticism of the Kantian Philosophy, an appendix to be found in The World
as Will and Representation [1]. In this essay I wish to analyse the criticism made against Kant s
determination of an object, since this is an important factor if we are to comprehend how we
understand reality.
Kant s Critique of Pure Reason [2] is notoriously difficult to read and often unclear. Possibly,...

Only with the concept of the chair does the chair become known. Concepts are essential if we are
to perceive the world: in no other way can an object be given to us [2; B33]. Thus, for Kant,
intuition and thought complement one another: thoughts without content are empty, intuitions
without concepts are blind [2; B75].
The scope of the concept of object goes further than the example I have given immediately
suggests: it does not just deal with an object that I perceive at one particular time, but can deal
with the object at different times, and at different positions in space. Thus, to take the example of
the particular chair I am looking at, the same concept of the chair synthesizes my immediate
intuition, along with the chair as it was yesterday when, I recall, it was in another room, and also
with any expectation I have of the chair tomorrow. The concept is able to synthesize all of these
manifold phenomena across time and space. It picks out those features that make it the same chair;
for example, that it is a particular shape and colour, and that it has a particular scratch mark on one
of its legs.
Bringing Thinking into Perception
Schopenhauer s first criticism of Kant is that he brings thinking into perception [1; p.439]. As we
have seen, for Kant, an object is not perceived meaningfully for what it is, until it is thought. Yet,
this seems odd, because it seems to me that I do not have

The Pros And Cons Of The NFL Protests
NFL Protests: Counterproductive Free Speech
Arguably, when it comes to personal freedoms, Americans have the most as compared to other
industrialized nations. In the United States, (US) its citizens are guaranteed unalienable rights as
put down in The Constitution via its amendments. More than one might realize, Americans often
take these freedoms for granted only asserting them when someone else brings them to mind. Such
is the case now playing out in professional football stadiums across the country, as illustrated by the
many players in the National Football League (NFL) who choose to kneel or sit during the National
Anthem prior to the start of the game. While most Americans agree the players do have a right to
protest, many believe the time and place of these protests are the issue. When the observance of
the National Anthem takes place, players are on the field and in uniform, representing their teams
and the league and therefore are at work. When other American workers are at work, there is an
expectation of specific conduct as defined by a set of rules. This is also true for the NFL. While
companies have various reasons for implementing these rules, they are, in fact designed to protect
the company and its assets. Therefore, workplace policies such as limiting free speech, are
necessary and beneficial not only to create and maintain an environment where employees can
focus on their jobs without unnecessary distraction, but also to protect the company, its

When your cataracts get to a certain stage, you ll begin to have problems with glare from

Alternative Energy And Renewable Energy

steadily grown, as well as our dependence on them. Nowadays, power and electricity are in every
facet of our daily lives. Due to this, we overlook several negative effects our traditional use of
fossil fuels have caused. Fossil fuels are fuel deposits that were formed hundreds of millions of
years ago, which is where the term fossil fuels come from. The two most common fossil fuels
currently in use are coal and oil, which power the majority of our infrastructure. However, fossil

Fossil fuels are already a widely established in the current market place. There is no need for big
technology innovations or research breakthroughs, since it is already a commonplace energy
commodity. The current job market which involves fossil fuels such as oil and coal are huge.
IHS Global Insights claims that by 2020 around three million jobs in America will be involving
oil and gas extraction. The processing of these fuels also does create useful byproducts, like
plastics. While these are a few advantages, there is sadly many more pressing disadvantages.
(ConserveEnergyFuture) The burning and processing of fossil fuels release high levels of
carbon dioxide into the air. This heavily contributes to a climate phenomenon known as Global
Warming , which is considered one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time. As previously
stated, fossil fuels are nonrenewable. This puts a hard cap on the amount we can eventually use,
which means there is a finite supply. Fossil fuels are generally located deep in the earth, and the
process of mining them are extremely harmful for the environment. Coal mining heavily affects
the areas where it is mined, due to the location of nearby materials. Coal is often found beside
highly acidic substances, so after mining is completed the only material left in the area is acidic,
which destroys the land. Coal and oil production facilities also produce liquid slag which is

Comparing The Birth Stories In The Gospels Of Matthew And...
Compare and contrast the birth stories in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. How do the
differences set up distinct theological emphases in each Gospel?
The foundation of the Christian faith is cradled within truth of the virgin birth, life, and resurrection
of Jesus Christ. As diverse as the world wide Christian culture is, the truth in the birth and life of
Jesus stands without border and language limitations. Just as each individual life story can be
adapted to be relevant for a variety of audiences, the birth story of the Messiah was also. The
Gospels of Matthew and Luke are an example of the well rounded and diverse narration of the
birth story of Jesus Matthew s narration spoke to the history of the Jewish people and Luke
presented to the citizen of Rome.
In the Gospel of Matthew, the focus on the Jewish genealogy of Jesus played a significant role in the
birth story. To fully understand Jesus, it was imperative to first acknowledge who Jesus was within
Jewish ancestry and his subsequent position as King of the Jews. Jewish tradition passed down the
oral and written story of Messianic prophecies for generations. To provide the correlation between
the anticipated Messiah and the fulfillment through Jesus, Matthew affirmed prophecies throughout
the birth story with two significant fulfillments Abraham s promised seed [offspring] and the virgin
birth.

(APTA) consists of 3 levels, that being local, state, and national.2 This three tiered approach helps
to ensure that both members of the public and the APTA are all served. This structure also allows

The Use Of Deceptation In Shakespeare s Hamlet By William...
Throughout history, Shakespeare s works have been able to captivate and enchant audiences of all
backgrounds. His words have an undeniable ability to sway a crowd s emotions and truly affect
them. His plays are timeless pieces of art considered the foundations of English literature.
Shakespeare s most dramatic and infamous tragedy, Hamlet, has earned its place as a cornerstone. In
the play, Shakespeare poetically writes speeches that reveal the true colours of the characters,
whether good or devious. The main antagonist, Claudius, exposes his treachery to the audience,
through his speech to his wife Gertrude. Those living during Shakespeare s times, the Elizabethans,
were the first to witness Claudius deception and were able to fully appreciate the play. Claudius
conversation with Gertrude in Act 4, Scene 5 of Hamlet effectively targets the Elizabethan audience
through the clever use of literary tools and the connections to aspects of Elizabethan society.
Hamlet is a prime example of Shakespeare s brilliant literary wit that was able to target the
Elizabethan audience and Claudius speech is no exception. There was no such thing as special
effects in the Elizabethan Era, so metaphors helped to create a picture for the audience in Claudius
speech. He explains Ophelia s distress by exclaiming, When sorrows come, they come not single
spies/But in battalions (4.5.52 53). It is difficult at times to envision a character s emotions and this

The Macro Environment
The macro environment
Introduction
Marketing s role is to match the capabilities and resources within the organisation with market
opportunities external to the organisation. Understanding customer needs is central to achieving
this aim, but marketers must also be aware of factors that can cause customer needs to evolve. A
change in customer needs will impact upon the organisation s ability to serve its customers. This
means that marketers have to be knowledgeable about what is happening in the external
environment, or macro environment.
Beyond the organisations that immediately influence a company s operations lies the macro
environment. This consists of the larger social and international forces that affect the society within

Nations have different levels of income:
Subsistence economies consume what they produce, so provide limited market opportunities.
Industrial economies offer rich markets with varied goods.
The operation of the economic environment is affected by government economic policy. In
struggling economies, consumer purchasing power is reduced. Consumers at different income
levels spend their money on different things. Economic variables affect these spending patterns.
Marketing
The economic problems faced by some countries have meant that some international marketers
cannot be paid in hard currency. To make sales, therefore, they have had to barter their products.
An example of this was the barter of Pepsi Cola for Russian vodka by the Pepsi company and the
former Soviet government.
Nature
This is important to marketers insofar as it is the source of many raw materials and fluctuation in
supply can affect the prices paid for purchases. Furthermore, the increasing cost of some raw
materials has meant that recycling of some materials, such as aluminium, has become economic.
There is increasing pressure from public opinion as to where raw materials are sourced from, and
their effect on the natural environment. Paper manufacturers have had to pay attention to sourcing
pulp from renewable forests, where trees are replanted to make up for those which have been
felled. There is also pressure on them not to use chemicals and bleaches in their

Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris (KP) is also referred to as follicular keratosis. This skin condition is
characterized by the formation of small, rough bumps on the surface of the skin (similar to
goosebumps). Due to its appearance and rough texture, KP is frequently referred to as chicken
skin. This condition affects approximately 40 percent of adults and up to 80 percent of
adolescents. While follicular keratosis is considered harmless, it can be bothersome because it is
unsightly and usually leaves the skin feeling dry, and itchy. What Causes Keratosis Pilaris? This
condition is genetic and occurs when the hair follicles become clogged: As such, any area of skin
where hair grows can be afflicted with KP. The upper arms are the most common location for the
development of follicular keratosis; however, other locations frequently afflicted with this condition
include the thighs and the buttocks. Some individuals will develop the small, rough bumps
associated with keratosis pilaris on their face: It is not uncommon for these bumps to be mistaken
for acne.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, this condition is incurable; however, you can manage it with the use of non
irritating body soaps, gentle exfoliation and a daily moisturizing routine. These treatments are
beneficial because dry skin can cause these bumps to stand out, thus making them more noticeable.
Treating Follicular Keratosis Relieving Dry, Itchy Skin You can use a creamy moisturizer to
soothe dry, itchy skin. The majority of creams used to treat this condition contain either lactic acid
or urea. Tips: Choose a moisturizer that is thick and oil free. Gently massage the moisturizer into
the areas of skin affected with keratosis pilaris at least twice a

The Importance Of Religious Religion In Thailand
Thailand is a country that by law allows for religious freedom for its peoples and has multiple
religious community that thrive and are supported, that being said the largest religion in Thailand
is Buddhism. It is often thought that Buddhism was brought to the country of Thailand around 302
232 B.C. by missionaries from India sent by the king, during the reign of Ashoka in Thailand. With
that said many often believe that Thailand did not arrive in Thailand until in the 13th century,
during the Sukhothai Kingdom. In either case the spread of Buddhismis accredited Buddhist
missionaries they allowed for the wide spread of the Buddhist belief system over a wide range of
land, not just a centralized point. Buddhism quickly spread throughout the country of Thailand and
quickly became the dominant religionthroughout the nation. The other well known world religions
that are present in Thailand are Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhismthat have all found a relevant
following in Thailand, yet pale in comparison to the overwhelming amount of Buddhist followers in
Thailand. Though much of Thailand is majority a single religion with other smaller followings it
prides itself on its openness, due to its acceptance of religious freedom.
As Buddhism is the majority religion in Thailand many of its beliefs and traditional practices find
have found their way into the everyday lives of the Thailand s citizens. One of these is the
countries view on how citizens relate to one another, for

Presidential Election Is Unprecedented
The upcoming Presidential Election is unlike any other. Two very different candidates with widely
disparate political experience and personalities square off against each other in a bitter, contentious
battle. Neither candidate seems very popular or likeable, yet one of them will be sworn in as
President of the United Statescome January. In many ways this presidential electionis
unprecedented. The candidates from both parties are perceived as extremely unfavorable. And,
while the establishment candidate Hillary Clinton currently leads the race, more recent polls show
that her lead over her outsider opponent, reality television star and real estate magnate Donald
Trump, is weakening. What is not unprecedented about this election, however,

Also, my department should set and track goals to help minimize computational errors daily. In
order to help prevent adjustments from being duplicated, I would recommend that a database be
created in Microsoft Access in order to keep track of all adjustments that have been made. I also
believe that adjustments to customers IRA and CAP accounts can be processed in a timelier
manner. There are currently service level agreements to complete all requests within 1 2 business
days. However, due to a lack of policy enforcement and motivation, different operations areas firm
wide are not following these SLAs and many requests are not completed within 2 days. In order to
reduce processing time, I would recommend that managers set deadlines each day for requests to be
completed. Any requests received before that time must be completed the same day, if possible, and
any requests received after the cutoff time must be completed ASAP during the next business day.
Managers can hold meetings with their team members weekly in order to stress the importance of
making timely adjustments to clients accounts and ensure operations are still running smoothly.
Reducing errors and mistakes is important because it shows our internal customers that we care
about them and their business relationships with us. Processing requests quicker displays our caring
nature for our customers and their needs. Improving these processes helps show that we are an
organization that

Unspun Advert Analysis
The first technique from the book, Unspun that appears in the following add is eye candy. The
example shown in the add is the image of a nice convertible car in very close proximity to the
sun. This is an example of eye candy because it demonstrates how the advertisers are using the
picture to detract the audience away from what the actual meaning of the advertisement is. If you
look into the details the product is actually for protecting against the suns harmful rays. The
advertisers used an extreme exaggeration of a giant flaming ball of fire very close to the car to
make it appear to the audience that if you use this product your car can survive the toughest
conditions. In reality the product only stands up to a very minimal amount of sun

The Experience Side Of Consciousness
Consciousness is part biology, ...each state of consciousness is composed of a number of basic
psychological processes such as memory, thought, sense of time, body perception and the senses
of hearing, smell, taste, and so on , and part experience. (Wilber 52) I am going to focus on the
experience side of consciousnessbecause it is less concrete than the genetic side. It is a concept that
is socially constructed to define an abstract phenomenon. Consciousness is the awareness of being
conscious. A theory that I believe, regarding why humans seek out altered states/consciousness, is
an evolutionary speculation. Charles Whitehead, in Altered Consciousness in Society, writes that
humans have a unique large scale cooperation in groups that... Show more content on

Lines of development are ...areas of knowledge that we acquire as we grow from childhood into
adulthood (Combs 35). The Spiral Dynamics of Culture chart starts at the Magical and Animistic
stage of development. Stages are typically associated with age, a child is likely to be in the
Magical and Animistic stage and believe in mystical signs, like having an imaginary friends,
with great focus on safe clans, nests, and powerful elders . A developing child who has aged and
progressed from the Magical and Animistic period is likely to be associated with the next stage,
the Impulsive and Egocentric . This includes raw power displays, immediate pleasure, and
attention seeking behavior . The Impulsive and Egocentric period is considered more developed
than the stage prior. It is important to note that people are unable to skip stages, one must endure
each period, which will allow them to have the mental capacities to enter the next developmental
phase. This can be defined as the fulcrum, the cause for people to move from one stage to another.
The next phase, Purposeful and Authoritarian , is supposedly where the average US citizen stands
on the spectrum. (Walden Lecture 11/15/16) Aspects of this developmental period include only one

characters of varying scopes throughout the night that all encounter some level of magical
interference to their lives. The following analysis of A Midsummer Night s Dream explores the
role of magic within the play, and how it affected each of the principle characters.
The use and misuse of magic has an important role in A Midsummer Night s Dream (The Use of
Magic in A Midsummers Night Dream :: William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night s Dream). As

that he can only play the lead. The scene ends with the group dispersing, agreeing to meet the

E Commerce at Yunnan Lucky Air
E Commerce at Yunnan Lucky Air:
Introduction:
Backed by the Hainan Airlines of the China, Yunnan Airlines was founded in 2004 as one of the
most cost effective domestic airline operating from its hub in Kunming, in the province of Yunnan.
The limited route license added to the airline s competitive advantage and maintained its monopoly
within the region. Its major competitors include Air China and China Southern Airlines among
others. As Yunnan is one of the most attractive tourist destinations of Southern China, the airline
attracted a lot of customers and started producing profits within just three years of its inception.
This huge success was the result of a viable strategy of the company that included just one type of
airplane to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of factors need to be considered by the executive team of Lucky Air. An ill devised or poorly
implemented marketing plan would not only hinder the company s growth, it would also result in
the loss of the edge they have over the other companies.
The four cost components of the airline industry fuel, landing fees, aircraft leasing and taxes has
made operating Lucky Air in a productive manner a constant challenge. Even though the company
has a high competitive advantage being linked to Hainan Airlines, it still needed to upgrade its
business strategy on a regular basis to ensure maintaining the lead they had over the other airlines.
The company like all its counterparts face a myriad of restraints including heavily regulated
governmental laws, limitation to price reduction, a low potential for rapid expansion due to
government restrictions and heavy taxes.
Lucky Air being new in the field and operating on a small geographical area has to burden a lot
of costs. The restriction on expansion of the company makes it necessary for the airlines to lease
the airplanes at a high cost and the taxes ranging from 2% 10% makes it a challenge to manage its
finances. The monopoly of Civil Aviation Oil for fuel and National Development Reform
Commission for aircraft leasing puts a burden on the budget of the airline companies as they may
dictate the terms of their services as they see fit.
Another factor that Lucky Air has to keep in mind while devising its business

New Start Reflection
This summer I had the opportunity to do New Start a program for incoming freshmen at the
University of Arizona. The program is to support the transition from high school to college and
throughout the program you gain knowledge and tips not only just about the college but about
yourself. Using tools from class activities like SWOT and True Colors that helped me really
understand who I am and what are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within this
essay I will share with you my SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last
few weeks.
Strengths
Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that
my values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick
from a list of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My
top values included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity
was especially challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is
important to me. I had to apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My
grandmother passed away during New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and
be with family but that also meant by missing school I d be missing out on important
information. In the end I choose to go to school the next day and be with my family afterwards.
That decision alone was very hard because in a situation such as mine there was a conflict of my
personal values my family is very important to me but school is just as important to me.
Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the ability to choose
between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and understanding
my personal values as a strength. I know that throughout life there will be times when I will have
to choose once again between my personal values and as student like I ve mentioned earlier I m
going to make those decisions based on what matters to me and what won t always be there in the
end.
Another strength I have is goal setting towards the end of high school coming into this summer my
top goal was to get a job. I ve tried my best to

What is the future of African American religious music? These questions will be answered through factual research of African American traditions, artists, and various other sources.... The most pervasive image in the spirituals is that of the chosen people for the slaves believed that they had been chosen by God just as the Israelites had. They also believed that they understood better than anyone what freedom truly meant in both a spiritual and physical sense. The Old Testament characters that the slaves referred to in their songs experienced deliverance by God. The slaves believed that the same God that had granted them spiritual freedom would someday loose the chains of slavery. The wonderful flexibility of the spirituals allowed for that double meaning of freedom. For example, Frederick Douglass claimed that the line I am bound for Canaan in one of the songs he frequently sang meant that he was going North, not just that he would experience the freedom of the promised land in a spiritual sense. The flexibility and multiplicity of meanings also allowed for slaves to use these sacred songs as secret communication. Some songs, such as Steal Away to Jesus, were used to call a secret meeting where the people could worship without the supervision of the whites. Other songs, such as Wade in the Water served as coded directions for runaway slaves. With the eventual emancipation of the slaves, religious music of African Americans became prominently ... After the formal divide Nuestra Familia began making allies with other Californian Prison gangs like the Black Guerilla family to defeat a common enemy, The Mexican Mafia. • 26. Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Essay Schopenhauer s Criticism of Kant s Analysis of Object Schopenhauer makes it clear that he is indebted to Kant for his vision of transcendental idealism, and that his Critique of Pure Reason [2] is a work of genius. However, Schopenhauer argued that Kant made many mistakes when formulating his philosophy, and he set about the task of uncovering them in his Criticism of the Kantian Philosophy, an appendix to be found in The World as Will and Representation [1]. In this essay I wish to analyse the criticism made against Kant s determination of an object, since this is an important factor if we are to comprehend how we understand reality. Kant s Critique of Pure Reason [2] is notoriously difficult to read and often unclear. Possibly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Only with the concept of the chair does the chair become known. Concepts are essential if we are to perceive the world: in no other way can an object be given to us [2; B33]. Thus, for Kant, intuition and thought complement one another: thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind [2; B75]. The scope of the concept of object goes further than the example I have given immediately suggests: it does not just deal with an object that I perceive at one particular time, but can deal with the object at different times, and at different positions in space. Thus, to take the example of the particular chair I am looking at, the same concept of the chair synthesizes my immediate intuition, along with the chair as it was yesterday when, I recall, it was in another room, and also with any expectation I have of the chair tomorrow. The concept is able to synthesize all of these manifold phenomena across time and space. It picks out those features that make it the same chair; for example, that it is a particular shape and colour, and that it has a particular scratch mark on one of its legs. Bringing Thinking into Perception Schopenhauer s first criticism of Kant is that he brings thinking into perception [1; p.439]. As we have seen, for Kant, an object is not perceived meaningfully for what it is, until it is thought. Yet, this seems odd, because it seems to me that I do not have ... The Pros And Cons Of The NFL Protests NFL Protests: Counterproductive Free Speech Arguably, when it comes to personal freedoms, Americans have the most as compared to other industrialized nations. In the United States, (US) its citizens are guaranteed unalienable rights as put down in The Constitution via its amendments. More than one might realize, Americans often take these freedoms for granted only asserting them when someone else brings them to mind. Such is the case now playing out in professional football stadiums across the country, as illustrated by the many players in the National Football League (NFL) who choose to kneel or sit during the National Anthem prior to the start of the game. While most Americans agree the players do have a right to protest, many believe the time and place of these protests are the issue. When the observance of the National Anthem takes place, players are on the field and in uniform, representing their teams and the league and therefore are at work. When other American workers are at work, there is an expectation of specific conduct as defined by a set of rules. This is also true for the NFL. While companies have various reasons for implementing these rules, they are, in fact designed to protect the company and its assets. Therefore, workplace policies such as limiting free speech, are necessary and beneficial not only to create and maintain an environment where employees can focus on their jobs without unnecessary distraction, but also to protect the company, its ... His words have an undeniable ability to sway a crowd s emotions and truly affect them. His plays are timeless pieces of art considered the foundations of English literature. Shakespeare s most dramatic and infamous tragedy, Hamlet, has earned its place as a cornerstone. In the play, Shakespeare poetically writes speeches that reveal the true colours of the characters, whether good or devious. The main antagonist, Claudius, exposes his treachery to the audience, through his speech to his wife Gertrude. Those living during Shakespeare s times, the Elizabethans, were the first to witness Claudius deception and were able to fully appreciate the play. Claudius conversation with Gertrude in Act 4, Scene 5 of Hamlet effectively targets the Elizabethan audience through the clever use of literary tools and the connections to aspects of Elizabethan society. Also, my department should set and track goals to help minimize computational errors daily. In order to help prevent adjustments from being duplicated, I would recommend that a database be created in Microsoft Access in order to keep track of all adjustments that have been made. I also believe that adjustments to customers IRA and CAP accounts can be processed in a timelier manner. There are currently service level agreements to complete all requests within 1 2 business days. However, due to a lack of policy enforcement and motivation, different operations areas firm wide are not following these SLAs and many requests are not completed within 2 days. In order to reduce processing time, I would recommend that managers set deadlines each day for requests to be completed. Any requests received before that time must be completed the same day, if possible, and any requests received after the cutoff time must be completed ASAP during the next business day. Managers can hold meetings with their team members weekly in order to stress the importance of making timely adjustments to clients accounts and ensure operations are still running smoothly. Reducing errors and mistakes is important because it shows our internal customers that we care about them and their business relationships with us. Processing requests quicker displays our caring nature for our customers and their needs. Improving these processes helps show that we are an organization that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Unspun Advert Analysis The first technique from the book, Unspun that appears in the following add is eye candy. The example shown in the add is the image of a nice convertible car in very close proximity to the sun. This is an example of eye candy because it demonstrates how the advertisers are using the picture to detract the audience away from what the actual meaning of the advertisement is. If you look into the details the product is actually for protecting against the suns harmful rays. The advertisers used an extreme exaggeration of a giant flaming ball of fire very close to the car to make it appear to the audience that if you use this product your car can survive the toughest conditions. In reality the product only stands up to a very minimal amount of sun ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Experience Side Of Consciousness Consciousness is part biology, ...each state of consciousness is composed of a number of basic psychological processes such as memory, thought, sense of time, body perception and the senses of hearing, smell, taste, and so on , and part experience. (Wilber 52) I am going to focus on the experience side of consciousnessbecause it is less concrete than the genetic side. It is a concept that is socially constructed to define an abstract phenomenon. Consciousness is the awareness of being conscious. A theory that I believe, regarding why humans seek out altered states/consciousness, is an evolutionary speculation. Lines of development are ...areas of knowledge that we acquire as we grow from childhood into adulthood (Combs 35). The Spiral Dynamics of Culture chart starts at the Magical and Animistic stage of development. Stages are typically associated with age, a child is likely to be in the Magical and Animistic stage and believe in mystical signs, like having an imaginary friends, with great focus on safe clans, nests, and powerful elders . A developing child who has aged and progressed from the Magical and Animistic period is likely to be associated with the next stage, the Impulsive and Egocentric . This includes raw power displays, immediate pleasure, and attention seeking behavior . The Impulsive and Egocentric period is considered more developed than the stage prior. It is important to note that people are unable to skip stages, one must endure each period, which will allow them to have the mental capacities to enter the next developmental phase. This can be defined as the fulcrum, the cause for people to move from one stage to another. The next phase, Purposeful and Authoritarian , is supposedly where the average US citizen stands on the spectrum. (Walden Lecture 11/15/16) Aspects of this developmental period include only one right way, sacrifice for honor, and orders from authority . This particular graph includes four more ... • 47. Montreal Case Study Hey there! Long time, no see. With June right around the corner, the Montreal Canadiens enter one of their most crucial periods in years specifically for general manager Marc Bergevin. The draft will yield some high end prospects, and pave the way for one or more massive trades. Max Pacioretty and others may be on the move, and the Canadiens roster may have a vastly different look come training camp. We took to Twitter to ask you, the fans, want to hear about most. We took your suggestions, and compiled them into the first edition of HC Mailbag. A non competitive team? Montreal is one of the most deep teams in the league on the wings, and has two of the best and most revered players on defense and in nets. Drouin, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Zadina/Svechnikov, Pacioretty, Hudon, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Byron, Shaw, Carr. That is the definition of deep. Not everyone on this list will be a Canadien by September, you can screenshot this for future reference. Add Shea Weber, Carey Price, Petry, and young up and comers in Mete and Juulsen, and you have yourself a pretty competitive team. Health is key, and proper deployment will ensure optimal performance from the team s constituents. Obviously there are glaring holes. The number one centre, and the number one left defenseman. Drouin could slot in as the 2C behind a true 1C. He was winning more faceoffs, was more confident down the middle, and posted 13 points in his last 14 contests last season. With less pressure, he could really thrive between, say, Galchenyuk and one of Zadina or Svechnikov. That s one heck of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

E Commerce at Yunnan Lucky Air E Commerce at Yunnan Lucky Air: Introduction: Backed by the Hainan Airlines of the China, Yunnan Airlines was founded in 2004 as one of the most cost effective domestic airline operating from its hub in Kunming, in the province of Yunnan. The limited route license added to the airline s competitive advantage and maintained its monopoly within the region. Its major competitors include Air China and China Southern Airlines among others. As Yunnan is one of the most attractive tourist destinations of Southern China, the airline attracted a lot of customers and started producing profits within just three years of its inception. A lot of factors need to be considered by the executive team of Lucky Air. An ill devised or poorly implemented marketing plan would not only hinder the company s growth, it would also result in the loss of the edge they have over the other companies. The four cost components of the airline industry fuel, landing fees, aircraft leasing and taxes has made operating Lucky Air in a productive manner a constant challenge. Even though the company has a high competitive advantage being linked to Hainan Airlines, it still needed to upgrade its business strategy on a regular basis to ensure maintaining the lead they had over the other airlines. The company like all its counterparts face a myriad of restraints including heavily regulated governmental laws, limitation to price reduction, a low potential for rapid expansion due to government restrictions and heavy taxes. Lucky Air being new in the field and operating on a small geographical area has to burden a lot of costs. The restriction on expansion of the company makes it necessary for the airlines to lease the airplanes at a high cost and the taxes ranging from 2% 10% makes it a challenge to manage its finances. The monopoly of Civil Aviation Oil for fuel and National Development Reform Commission for aircraft leasing puts a burden on the budget of the airline companies as they may dictate the terms of their services as they see fit. Another factor that Lucky Air has to keep in mind while devising its business ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. New Start Reflection This summer I had the opportunity to do New Start a program for incoming freshmen at the University of Arizona. The program is to support the transition from high school to college and throughout the program you gain knowledge and tips not only just about the college but about yourself. Using tools from class activities like SWOT and True Colors that helped me really understand who I am and what are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within this essay I will share with you my SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last few weeks. Strengths Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that my values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick from a list of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My top values included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity was especially challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is important to me. I had to apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My grandmother passed away during New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and be with family but that also meant by missing school I d be missing out on important information. In the end I choose to go to school the next day and be with my family afterwards. That decision alone was very hard because in a situation such as mine there was a conflict of my personal values my family is very important to me but school is just as important to me. Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the ability to choose between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and understanding my personal values as a strength. I know that throughout life there will be times when I will have to choose once again between my personal values and as student like I ve mentioned earlier I m going to make those decisions based on what matters to me and what won t always be there in the end. Another strength I have is goal setting towards the end of high school coming into this summer my top goal was to get a job. I ve tried my best to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
