still does not mean much to me. However, it brings together people who (most of

Predating my college life, I held a strong desire to understand complex
mathematical concepts. I would spend countless hours trying to get ahead of class,
to satisfy my curiosity on what awaited me in future lessons. At home, I studied and
did my homework by myself, as everyone was always busy. It was because of this,
that my progress in learningwas somewhat limited to grade specific workbooks that
my parents could buy and I could only self study to such an extent. However, my
father discovered a new way for me to excel. My father could not assist me in
doing my homework. Whenever he had time to help me he failed at breaking down
mathematical concepts. Often, he would complicate a simple problem and deviate
from the core question. After a while, he gave up on helping me with my homework
as our discussions would devolve into arguing about the best way to solve my
homework problems. He concluded that it had been years since he went to high
school, which I somewhat agreed. Instead, he bought me workbooks or educational
game software like Jumpstart to help me to keep up with math and other academic
subjects. Around fifth grade, he told me about something he heard on the radio: a site
changing the perception of education: Khan Academy. His eyes lit up as he told me
everything on the site was free and it was being financed by men like Bill Gates. My

Statistical Analysis A big issue that colleges across the nation are seeing is an
increased rate in students dropping out and never looking back for their education.
This is especially prominent when the students are going out of state for college.
Without much of a support system on their first failed test, students seem to carry
that with them throughout the rest of the semester. This later on becomes a
snowball effect and eventually leads to dropping out. However, being in a sorority
for two years I rarely ever see a drop out occur, because we are all holding each other

The fact that joining a sorority or fraternity can increase graduation rates by 20 30%
is astonishing. There are a number of reasons of why just going to college without
joining Greek life can hurt a student s education. One big issue that I stated in the
beginning could be because of the lack of a support system. Wichita State is a
commuter school; there are many people that travel here for various reasons. Also
there are many girls in my sorority who are not from around here and that was a big
reason why they joined Greek life; they longed for a support system like they had

Antonio Vivaldi is a famous Italian baroque composer, known by most Suzuki violin
students who study his concertos or by audiences everywhere who have heard and
love his composition of the Four Seasons. Having grown up as students of the
Suzuki Violin Method, we recognize this composer and have experience performing
his pieces. In addition to his many concertos written for solo violin, Vivaldi composed
many concertos intended to be performed by two solo violins, accompanied by a
small orchestra. Because we are both violinists, we chose to analyze the second
movement of Vivaldi s Concerto for Two Violins in A minor, RV 522, included in

This concerto is made up of three movements, with the second movement entitled
Larghetto e spiritoso in between two Allegro movements. Originally intended for
two solo violins, violin I, violin II, viola, cello, and bass, this piece has been
transposed in various forms and is now commonly performed with two solo violins
and piano. While the other two movements are lively and exciting, the second
movement provides a great contrast. It is in a different key and has a completely
different feeling, one of heaviness and melancholy, though its chord progressions and
harmonies make it appealing to audiences. This composition in its entirety gained
Vivaldi his greatest popularity as it spread throughout Europe and became a standard
for 18th century composers. In his compositions, as with this work, Vivaldi often
borrowed chord patterns and structure from his other pieces. Unlike the other
movements, which are in A minor, the second movement changes key to D minor. In
this way there is a modulation between movements, however, within the movement
there are no modulations. There are several variant qualities of the leading tone and
dominant triads; both normally appearing in the same measure throughout the piece.
Examples of these variant qualities are in measures 2, 6, and 10. Interestingly, several
times throughout the piece, the violin will play a C# against a variant quality
