1. Essay Of Cause And Effect
Writing an essay on the topic of "Cause and Effect" is both challenging and intellectually
stimulating. The difficulty lies in not just presenting a series of events or actions but in delving
into the intricate web of relationships between causes and their corresponding effects. It
demands a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to analyze and articulate
these connections with clarity.
One of the primary challenges is to strike the right balance between causation and correlation.
Identifying genuine causation requires a keen analytical eye and a rigorous examination of
potential contributing factors. Moreover, it's essential to establish a logical flow that allows the
reader to follow the cause-and-effect chain without getting lost in a sea of information.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of the essay and provides a
roadmap for the reader can be another hurdle. The thesis needs to be nuanced, reflecting the
complexity of the cause-and-effect relationships being explored, yet concise enough to maintain
focus.
The research aspect is equally demanding. Thorough investigation is necessary to gather credible
and relevant information that supports the arguments and helps in establishing a comprehensive
understanding of the chosen topic. This involves exploring various sources, critically evaluating
data, and discerning the most pertinent details.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to the actual writing process. Expressing complex ideas in a
coherent and engaging manner, while maintaining a formal and academic tone, is a delicate task.
Transitions between different stages of the cause-and-effect chain must be seamless, ensuring
that the narrative flows smoothly and does not lose its coherence.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Cause and Effect" demands a combination of
analytical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It requires a writer to navigate
through a maze of interconnected relationships, presenting them in a way that is both
intellectually satisfying and accessible to the reader.

Higher...
White collar crimes are committed by middle of a higher status in any given
occupation. These crimes often involves a validation of trust from a valued employee
within a company. These crimes can include trade secrets, fraud, money laundering,
identity theft, and healthcare fraud. The people committing these crimes come from
a higher class and you wouldn t thinking someone is poor would commit a crimelike
this in nature. The media always bring to our attention since the 1990 s about the
amount of white collar crimes happening in the United States. A few large
companies like Enron, Madoff, Tyco Toys and some other companies were faced
with prison sentences for their greed and personal vendettas. The world as a whole
started opening their eyes and seeking knowledge about corporations and private
companies to understand the corruption CEO s, lawyer, and trading companies.
White collar crimes are happening more often than in previous years. The media
has tried to keep the public aware of the amount of white collar crimes that are
occurring and the justice systems is taking too long to address the problem.
Although, white collar crimes are non violent and doesn t pose a direct threat like
other crimes it still can cause a personal or public perception that is violent in nature.
When people lose their life saving, house, cars, retirement money, and stocks it is
hard to say you won t get violent when you know this person has taken everything
you own for their personal gain. Scams
3. Rehabilitation After Stroke Rehabilitation
Strokes are a prevalent occurrence. Every year, nearly 800,000 people have a stroke (
The Internet Stroke Center, n.d.). Its ramifications can be disastrous ranging from
impairment, disability, to even death. Rehabilitation after suffering from a stroke is
necessary to have a successful recovery. The current protocol for stroke rehabilitation
begins during the initial hospital admittance. The therapyis then transferred to an
inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation center. This decision is made considering the
severity of the stroke and the patient s accessibility to a clinic. Stroke rehabilitation
taking place in the home, instead of an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation center,
would be an alternative for patients to consider. An important... Show more content on

One of those important players is an occupational therapist. Occupational therapists
often look at the individual holistically. They understand the importance of how
emotional well being, healthy life habits, and social connections play in recovery for
patients who have suffered a stroke, as well as addressing the continuous physical
rehabilitation. Occupational therapists also focus and engage stroke survivors, as
well as their families, to lead independent healthy lives and emphasize the importance
of human connections. Occupational therapists do this by helping the patients and
their families develop coping strategies to deal with loss, promoting psychosocial
health, promoting healthy living strategies, as well as providing education for the
clients to minimize any potential for a stroke relapse. Most importantly, occupational
therapists use their knowledge in activity analysis and adaptive methods to help the
individual complete necessary and meaningful life occupations, promoting their
independence ( The Role of Occupational Therapy in Stroke Rehabilitation, n.d.).
Completing this therapy in the patient s home can decrease medical expenditures as
well as give a more realistic context and environment for patient therapy to be

4. Influence Of Mcdonald And Pop Culture
Food is very much a part of pop culture, and the beliefs, practices, and trends in a
culture affect its eating practices. Pop culture includes the ideas and objects
generated by a society, including foods, and other systems, as well as the impact of
these ideas and objects on society. For example, Mcdonald s is another of the
thousands of fast food chains that populate our cities though they often use the term
popular cultureonly to refer to media forms. Their popularity has also increased
internationally. Although all humans need food to survive, people s food habits and
how they obtain, prepare, and consume food, are the result of learned behaviors.
Mcdonald s, like other food chains, has made an effort to localize its products so that
they will be more successful in each different cultural context. These collective
behaviors, as well as the values and attitudes they reflect, come to represent a group s
pop culture.
An online source says, popular culture is first well like by many people. It goes on
to say, second its must have inferior kinds of work. Finally it says, third it must
work deliberately setting out to win favour by the people, and culture actually made
by the people for themselves. This source continues to say how well Mcdonald s fit
into these categories of what we call popular culture.
Mcdonald s knew that it would have been in pop culture when the legendary
founder of the company, Ray Kroc , said Mcdonald s was not into the hamburger
business, but it in the people s business Kroc was saying that he believes in what the
people want and mainly that s what pop culture is about. They use big graphics and
flashy advertisements to give the people what they want. Mcdonald s has become
apart of culture for everybody.
Today s society focuses more on the idea of mass media and of things that are
portrayed with this. Because of advancements in technology, a person could simply
turn on a television set, a computer, or just their phone to find out things that are
going on in the world. In dealing with pop culture, one would see that the ideas and
objects generated by a society are being promoted by the media. Mcdonald s and other
restaurants use this to promote their items.

Solar flares, Coronal mass ejections, high speed solar wind, and solar energetic

Solar flares produce X Rays for a few minutes or hours and produce more radiation

flare stars to have life (102 book). Solar flares are intense bursts of radiation coming
from the release of magnetic energy associated with sunspots. They release photons at

The outer solar atmosphere, the corona, is created by magnetic fields. When the
fields close, the confined solar atmosphere can suddenly violently release bubbles
of gas and magnetic fields. A coronal mass ejection can contain a billion tons of
matter that can move at millions of miles per hour (Solar). Solar energetic particles
are released by shocks at the front of Coronal mass ejections and solar flares. When a
coronal mass ejection flows through the solar wind, high velocity solar energetic
particles are produced. They are charged so they follow the magnetic lines
between the Sun and Earth (Solar). Flow of charged particles called solar wind
(Bergman). Space is filled with magnetic fields which controls the solar winds
(Bergman). High speed solar winds flow through coronal holes that can form
anywhere on the sun and usually only affect the Earth when they are near the solar

6. Reflection Of A Journey To The Lake Of The Woods
The other day I was making a gratitude list. I do this periodically after I m reminded
by someone to make it a daily practice. I can attest that as it makes me more aware
of what people, birthright and luck brings to one s life. My gratitude list includes
living, breathing things, like my dogs and my friends, and now for the last decade,
includes my father and our annual visit to our summer cabin in Northern Minnesota.
My father just pushed past ninety three in March of this year. I am very grateful to
have developed a relationship with him that is more like a friendship and
camaraderie. He makes for great company in a place with very little noise. Our
relationship transformed after my mother passed and now our vacation week on Lake
of the Woodsinvolves us to create conversation and shared experiences.
Our vacation retreat is on a small island that now has several walking paths, the
necessary boat dock and a very modest cabin. As my mother used to say, It s a
cabin in the sticks . The island s inhabitance began in the 1920 s by my father s
father. It s both humble and grand. More than once will I hear the word Paradise as
my father voices his awe at the rugged beauty that surrounds us on all sides. You
can only describe these 14, 500 islands that dot Lake of the Woods as timeless .
Regardless of modernization, the vista is an enduring expanse of green cedar and
white pine trees whose gnarly roots hang on for dear life to the granite. It s a wonder

8. The Hidden Identity of Arnold Friend Essay
The Hidden Identity of Arnold Friend The world is full of people who portray
themselves as someone or something else. People usually hide their identity to
obtain things that they want. It is common to be fooled by someone s appearance. In
Joyce Carol Oates s, Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been, Arnold
Friend is an example of someone trying to trick another person into believing that
he is something that he is not. In the story, a girl named Connie is confronted by a
man who is trying to persuade her to take a ride with him in his car. She had seen
this man the night before staring at her in the drive in so she was a little scared that

physical about Arnold Friend seems to be fake. Weg s states, even his eyelashes
appear to be made up, but with some tarlike material (357). Arnold Friend has very
eerie characteristics about him that lead the reader to believe that he is covering
demonic physical traits with a fake human disposition. Secondly, Arnold Friend
knows an excessive amount of information about Connie, her friends and family.
There is no human that can stare off into the distance and know what someone else
is doing at that very instant. Arnold Friend does this very thing. When Connie tells
him that her dad will be home soon he says, He ain t coming. He s at a barbeque.

psychic awareness of what people are doing away from him when he is not
physically there. A few people that are capable of this are the Deviland God, and
God would not be threatening a 15 year old girl. Also, Arnold Friend seems to know
a lot about
Connie. He says, I know who you were with last night, and your best girlfriend s
name is Betty right (287)? The reader could argue that Arnold Friend is a stalker, but
9. The Potato, Or The S. Tuberosum
CAUSE: The potato, or the S. tuberosum, is a tuberous crop that consists of mainly
starch and water. This particular crop originated in the Andes, a large mountain range
that is situated South America. The inhabitants of this wide diverse terrain, the
Andeans, were the first persons to domesticate and widely cultivate the potato. The
Andeans cultivated an extensive variety of potatoes, due to the difference in species
that relied on several components; such as elevation and soil type. When the
Spaniards began their colonization of the Americas in the sixteenth century, they
discovered the Andeans usage of potatoes and advanced farming techniques. The
Spaniards transported these techniques and potato to Europe through the Columbian
Exchange. After the potato was diffused into Europe, it yielded effects that would
influence Europe for centuries to come.
The introduction of the potato (cause) was one of the most influential events in
European history. This crop has numerous beneficial factors. For instance, the potato:
has a relatively short growing season compared to other crops. Because of this, the
potato could be harvested earlier to avoid unseasonable weather. has productive tubers

However, Afrika s poem Nothing s Changed tries to connect two different time

He has varied the tone throughout the whole poem. There is a very surprising
opening line in the poem with a series of monosyllabic words. This helps build up
the imagery in the opening lines in which the poet establishes the wasteland that is
District 6. As it is written in first person we are also drawn into the world the poet
creates in the poem. The Imagery is reinforced with the references to un mowed
grass that has gone to seed and to the purple weeds. There is the beginning of a change
in tone in the second stanza. The use of the two word title District Six is a stark
statement and expects you to know the area the poet is talking about. The repetition
in the next few line underlines the growing anger the poet feels and heralds a
dramatic change in tone from the opening lines of the poem. The use of punctuation
also helps to build up the sense of growing anger. The poet has used several poetic
devices at beginning of the third stanza; for example the internal rhyme on Brash
with glass and alliteration on flaring like a flag which helps changing the tone by
reducing the anger at the end of the last stanza to bitter
11. Analysis Of The Hillsborough Tragedy
The Hillsborough tragedy is the worst tragedy in a stadium in the history of United
Kingdom that resulted in the death of ninety six people. Disasters such as the
Hillsborough tragedy do not just happen out of the blues but, are a sum of various
mistakes as well as negligence or misjudgements. When these factors come together,
the end result is a disaster that involves loss of lives and life threatening injuries.
Before any event organizer or premises owner agrees to enter in such massive
liabilities, it is important that all systems are critically evaluated in order to address
any lapses in structural capacity, design or even securityand managementaspects that
could result in human injury or death (The Hillsborough StadiumDisaster, 2009).

course of the novel, Scarlett begins to change drastically due to events which include
the rage of The Civil War on Tara, several relationship conflicts, and loss of family
members. Scarlett O Hara spent much of her time concerning her many suitors but
gave extra consideration to a man named Ashley Wilkes. But she is distraught to find
out he is to be married to his cousin Melanie and from that point on her classic

though it may have been an extreme misfortune, it was a great way to help her

change will help Scarlett in future conflicts. A quote that applies to this hardship in
the book is that it was said to Scarlett hardships make or break people (Mitchell) In

13. Explain The Main Organic Macromolecules In Living
Organisms
The main organic macromolecules discovered in living organisms are lipids,
carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acids. These molecules contain small subunits
known as monomers. These monomers come together to create polymers which is
known as dehydration synthesis. Dehydration synthesis occurs when a hydroxyl
group is eliminated from one of the monomers and a hydrogen atom from the other,
which then releases a water molecule. Additionally, the process that a water molecule
is used to break the bond between 2 subunits in a polymer is called hydrolysis.
Lipids, otherwise known as fats are made up of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen atoms.
These molecule are used for energy storage. Lipids, are generally known as
triglycerides which means that it contains 3 fatty acid because of the hydrocarbon
tails are water fearing. Lipids include fatty acids, waxes, oils and steroids. Lipids are
an extremely important component of living cells. Along with carbohydrates and
protein, lipids are the main part of plants and animal cells. ... Show more content on

They re extremely important for the body, it provides extra needed energy for the

monosaccharides which are made up of 3 to 6 carbon molecules. Glucose which is the
most important monosaccharides is the body preferred energy resource. One s
digestive system changes carbohydrates into glucose. Which is then used for energy
in the cells, organs and tissue. Disaccharides such as sucrose and maltose are formed
when monosaccharides are linked together using glycoside bond. Finally the largest
and most complex carbohydrate are polysaccharides that is often used for energy
storage. Examples would be, starch which are used in plants, cellulose in lands,
glycogen in animals and chitin
14. Why Do We Need Censorship In Schools
There is a book out there that talks about a topic that you do not agree with. While
you may find the book offensive, others may find it inspiring or a reflection of their
life. These varying points of view are what often lead to people calling for a ban of a
certain book in a school or public library. This brings to light a topic that impacts all
of us in one way or another, censorshipin the form of book bans. This leads to a topic
that can be the center of debate for many, whether or not we should allow the
censorship of books, or other forms of media, in our libraries. And by censoring
books, we are referring to taking them off of the shelves. Of course, many people
have strong opinions on this. Coincidentally, I also have an opinion. My opinion is
that we should not censor books, while making you understand why the idea of
censorship in our school and public libraries goes against the fundamental values and
freedoms that we hold dearly as citizens of the United States.... Show more content on

For example, some people can find certain works offensive, usually due to reasons
such as language, violence, sexual content, or the lifestyles portrayed in the pages.
However, I would like to point out that if someone does not agree with something,
or if they find it offensive, they can exercise their freedom of choice and choose
not to read the book. It should not be up to a portion of the public to decide what is
acceptable for others. If we start denying this freedom of choice as it related to
books that are available in our libraries, what will the next step in denying our
freedom of choice? If one stops to think of why we love to live in the United States,
freedom has to be at the top of this
15. Theseus And The Minotaur
There are many examples of heroes throughout history and in story books that
convey great messages, but what makes your leaders heroes? There are many
attributes that make a hero but there are three main areas. To be a hero, one must be
willing to make many sacrifices, be humble and not expect anything from the actions,
and make positive changes. To be a hero means to sacrificesomething for someone
else no matter the circumstances or dangers. An example of this is in the myth
Theseus and the Minotaur. It gives a great example of sacrifice and heroism.
Powerful king Minos of Crete demands Athenian women and men every year to
feed to the Minotaur. When Theseus heard about this, he was not happy. He took
the place of one of the sacrificed men and went to the labyrinth of the Minotaur to
try and kill the beast himself. Theseus then expressed his feelings of frustration by
saying saying, When it is time to send the next tribute, I will go as one of them and
I vow that it is the last time the Minotaur will be fed with the flesh of any of our
people. Theseus was strong and was willing to put himself in danger for the safety
of his people. Not many people have the courage to sacrifice themselves. Parents
make sacrifices every day. Think of how hard mothers or fathers works to make
money, to keep the kids happy, to feed them, to clean up after everyone, to get their
kids where they what to go. My mom makes sacrifices everyday. She takes my
brother dance right after a long
16. Advantages And Disadvantage Of Renewable Energy In
India
Renewable energy is defined as energy that is collected from resources which are
naturally replenished by nature, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, and
geothermal heat. Quick deployment of renewable energy is resulting in noticeable
changes in energy security, climate change mitigation, and economic benefits. A non
renewable resource (also called a finite resource) is a resource that does not renew
itself at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction in meaningful human
time frames. These are used all over the world , in developing and non developing
countries to create electricity.
One such developing country where renewable and non renewable energy is vastly
used is in India. According to Total Renewable Energy Installed Capacity (31 Nov

Disadvantages:
The main disadvantage with regards to wind power is the winds unreliability factor.
Some areas may not experience strong winds throughout the year which will make
the electricity generated from the farm unreliable and the whole project unviable.
In order to make an impact, many windmills have to be built to match the amount of
electricity generated from a single fossil fuel plant.
Construction of a wind turbine can be costly economically as well as to the life of
surrounding wildlife in the neighbouring areas.
The noise pollution from a wind farm is similar to the amount generated from a
small jet plane which makes it difficult for people living near these areas to live
peacefully.
People feel that all areas that are naturally beautiful should be left that way and not
be destroyed by building wind farms on

some of the treatments available:

artificial intelligence will match and exceed the intelligence of humans, including the

the human brain. We will reach this point relatively soon. Kurzweil estimates that the
Singularity will arrive in 2045. An important reason why we are reaching this point is
exponential growth. As time goes on, we double the growth of computing

Imagine you are a play fanatic in 1957, clutching your ticket, waiting to enter a
magnificent theater, to see the opening of West Side Story. You loved the
choreography Jerome Robbins always created, and watching his pervious plays,
Peter Pan, Fiddler on the Roof, and Gypsy .You could not be more thrilled to see the
musical West Side Story, which he choreographed and directed. Leonard Bernstein
has grown to become one of you favorite composers, and you can barely contain your
anticipation to listen to the musiche created for West Side Story. As the musical ends,
you begin to think about how authentic its music is. You wonder if the music of West
Side Story is authentic to the Puerto Rican culture, or just Americanized to satisfy

The plot line for the musical was similar to the storyline of Romeo and Juliet. West
Side Story was a tragic romance about two protagonist lovers from opposing gangs,
the Puerto Rican Sharks and the White American Jets. The protagonists in the
musical are Maria, a Shark, and Tony, a Jet; two young adults who fell in love with
one another. The two gangs, let their rivalry and differences constantly get in the
way, whether they are at a dance, on a basketball court, or in a convenient store. At
one of their rumbles, each side ended up murdering the other side s leader. (Tony
killed Bernardo, Maria s brother.) Maria eventually found out and forgave Tony, but
asked him to stop future fights from happening, so they could marry one another.
Although information proven false, the Sharks were alerted that Maria was killed
by Chino, also a Shark. Tony eventually found out about the dreadful news, located
Chino, and plead Chino to shoot him. Right as he pulled the trigger, Tony saw
Maria, alive and well. Hysterical, Maria clutched Tony in her arms, and spoke to
both sides about their wrongdoings. The Sharks and Jets banded together, carried
Tony s lifeless body offstage, and ended the violence between the two gangs

Weaknesses Conflictions in the Professional Code The AICPA Code of Professional
Conduct, regardless of its numerous strengths, the Code of Professional Conduct has
some serious weaknesses. The accounting profession is constantly changing and
making improvements. The first weakness in the Code of Professional Conduct deals
with conflictions within the code due to the code being constantly updated (Dienhart,
1995). Dienhart, Lunday, and Tavani have all criticized professional codes because
the directives cause conflictions with one another, whether it is direct or indirect.

28. Supervision Theory Essay
Why is a supervision theory basis necessary? How does an effective leader bridge
theory to practice?
Supervision involves having other people do work through delegation of duties. This
requires that the people to whom work has been delegated be trusted and respected.
There needs to be confidence between the employees and the supervisor. To compete
effectively and achieve success companies usually rely on the involvement of their
employees and must nurture their employees and encourage their initiative. This
requires effective leaders who can encourage others to be committed and involved at
work (Barry, Herbert Jeannette, 2003). On one side, the supervisor bears pressure

Relationship oriented behaviors are those behaviors that promote cohesion in a
group. Leaders who are relationship oriented are those who show human relationships
and work hard to maintain the group they lead. This type of leadership usually
involves support to the subordinates, trusting that the subordinates can work without
much supervision and a friendly environment between the leaders and the
subordinates.
By the use of these behaviors, the people in the team get the opportunity to give
their best. This is because these leaders develop a good communication channel that
involves everybody participating in decision making. Moreover, the results of the
group are usually boosted since everybody is involved and there is no time when the
leader shall make biased decisions.
This behavior is usually employee oriented but not result oriented. As such employee
feel that their interests are well addressed and end up working harder. Moreover, this
behavior makes employees not feel as subordinates by dispelling the tension that
might develop among the employees. Therefore, they usually contribute freely
towards the group and this improves the results of the group. The overall result of
relationship oriented behaviors is the improved results of the team.
As an example, a manager who is always oriented towards the results of the people
below him forces the employees to always do what he wants even if they are
incapable of doing it. Such a manager

Throughout the ages art has played an important part in shaping societies and the
ideals of them as a whole. But what you may not of realized or thought about is that
powerful art pieces and the context of them can actually create an image of strength
and act as a deterrent from outside countries and foes. Looking back on the high
Renaissancein Florence, a time in which religious devotion was the central focus of
the people and unrest and civil disorder were commonplace. Two differing sculptures
of David were commissioned and sculpted, one by Andrea di Michele Cioni

They Probably numbered no more than 15,000 during the 15th century and would
have surely fallen if attacked in an all out war, so they had to rely on other tactics.
This is in my opinion where the idea of not only finding hope in David and his
similarities to that of Florence came into play, but also the idea of creating an
image that Florence though small like David can defeat the greatest of enemies
with the help of God. It kind of reminds of the idea of using brains over brawns,
instead in this case just avoiding the fight altogether by creating the sort of image
that Florence like David can overcome the greatest of hardships. David was to the
people of Florence at the time a symbol of hope and perseverance and acted as a
deterrent to those potential Goliaths . The small city state had little means of
fending off an army and as a major art Center it didn t really have a reputation for
being all that powerful or having any sort of exceptional military. The Davids of
Florence may have changed this acting as a
31. Rick Bass Rick Bass Analysis
According to Donald Trump Jr, Hunting forces, a person to endure, to master
themselves, even to truly get to know the wild environment. Actually, along the way,
hunting and fishing makes you fall in love with the natural world. This is why
hunters so often give back by contributing to conservation. . One such writer, Rick
Bass, describes a similar emotion in the essay Why I hunt . In the essay, he
empathizes his deep love for huntingand claims that it is an enjoyable activity. He
argues that the two reasons that has made him a hunter are the staggering
surroundings and the alluring imagination the forest has offered him. Bass begins
building his credibility with personal experience and claims from other locals in
the area. He employs such details to his story describing his surrounding
beautifully that, towards the end of the article, his attempts to appeal to reader s
imagination strengthen his credibility and ultimately, his argument. In his essay,
Why I Hunt readers have a chance to get a passionate hunter s perceptive in what
hunting is like. Rick Bass shares his story of an unplanned immigration west to the
Yaak valley with his wife. He uses strong appeals to ethos to strengthen his
credibility and build his argument. He describes in such details as the beauty of the
nature that instantly makes him feel the connection as he arrives. Before he
shared his hunting experiences he describes the forest with intense emotion by
stating The dense purples of the spruce and fir forests, the ivory crests of the ice
capped peaks, and the slender ribbons of gray thread rising from the chimneys of
the few cabins nudged close to the winding river below, and we fell in love with
the Yaak Valley and hard logged Kootenai National Forest (Bass pp). Additionally,
he calls the forest a predator s showcase (Bass pp), informing readers that the forest
shelters a variety of animals such as wolverines, bobcats, bald eagles, coyotes and
so on. This is an emotional and powerful description that helps a reader imagine and
paint a picture in their head of what the forest looks like. He is also justifying hunting
by making this an ethical argument as well. Hunting has always been a very
controversial topic. In fact, many

To begin with, a main point that has changed has to be social customs. For instance,
in Leave it to Beaver, during the episode named Beaver wont Eat, the Cleaver
family was struggling in getting their youngest son to eat his vegetables. To discuss
this, the mother and father stepped out of the room and entered the kitchen to solve
the problem. They argued to find a solution and also were peeking on Beaver
through the door to see his progress with his brussel sprouts. This shows that the
parents do not want to fight in front of their children. The parents privately exit the

their motherand father are arguing since they want to be that perfect nuclear family.

34. Water Pollution Act ( Clean Water Act )
Iowa has been working for decades to protect and improve water quality; however,
more can be done. Our suggested strategy is to direct efforts to reduce nutrients in
surface water from both point and nonpoint sources in a scientific, reasonable, and
cost effective manner. Our proposal is prompted by the 1972 Federal Water Pollution
Act (Clean Water Act) as well as the 2008 Gulf Hypoxia Action Plan. Both of these
plan s objectives are to restore and maintain the chemical, physical and biological
integrity of the nation s waters by preventing point and nonpoint pollution sources
and seek to provide assistance to publicly owned water treatment facilities. The
2008 Gulf Hypoxia Action Plan takes these goals one step further by calling Iowa
and other states along the Mississippi River to develop strategies to reduce nutrient
loadings to the Gulf of Mexico. Moreover, establishing that there needs to be at
least a 45% reduction in total nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loads in order for
waters to be fishable and swimmable. Our proposal seeks to apply the guidelines in
these bills to the Fourmile Creek watershed in Central Iowa in order to make the
waters in our backyard fishable and swimmable once again.
Floods are a natural part of Fourmile Creek s ecology and have been occurring for
thousands of years. Although floods periodically occur, in recent year s flooding has
been extensive and has affected many people living and working in the watershed.

36. The Break With Rome By William Shakespeare
The Break with Rome was a process that began around the early 1500 s and is still
in play to this day. Many historians studying the topic believe that the causes leading
up to the Break with Rome were too complex and that they are of a nature that cannot
be listed if you wanted to comprehensively analyze the ultimate cause of the Break
with Rome. Thus leading to the causes being described as more of a process
through a series of causes and not so much an event . There are many debated
causes of the Break between historians that argue over their validity and importance
as to whether or not the cause was actually real and had big enough motives behind
it to lead on to such a bigger event. The main causes that have been debated over for
century s are: the inability of Catherine of Aragonto provide a male Heir for King
Henry that he so desperately desired to have, the love obsession with Anne Boleyn
that historians believe subsequently led on to Henry wanting to annul his marriage
with Catherine with means such as a Leviticus testament from the bible, Pope
Clement VII s refusal to grant the annulment for Henry and the fact that Charles V,
Catherine s nephew may have had a role in it and Henry s increasing want and
desire in his conquest for power and money. All of these causes are believed by
many historians to have played a vital role in the process that led to the Break with
Rome in 1533. Following the Break there were many consequences as a result, which

Abner has a wiry figure, so he is not very well fed (Faulkner 182). In the family s

Abner s job before being exile only allowed him to owe more than he had, so when

problems are still the same and will not change (185, 189). Faulkner also describes
Abner as one who had in his blood and inherent voracious prodigality with material
not his own (184). Prodigality means wastefully extravagant, so Abner tends to lust
after lavish items or an lavish lifestyle that he can not obtain. If anything, some of
the better items he have are stolen (184). He can not afford his own horses; most of
them are what he calls, captured horses which are actually stolen from both
Confederate and Union armies during the Civil War (184). Abner also makes
shrewd fires instead of making bigger ones as he does with the barn. The small fires
represents his low status during the war as a thief and during the present as a farmer

Annexation of Hawaii
John L. Stevens came to the island of Oahu in September 1889, acting as the U.S.
Minister to Hawaii. While his mission in Hawaii was not clearly stated, his political
actions on the islands clearly showed that Stevens thought that the annexation of
Hawaii was proper and inevitable.
Stevens held firm beliefs about the future of Hawaii in the hands of the United
States. From the start of his stay in Hawaii, Stevens made it clear whose side he
was on in the political war. He would openly criticize Hawaii s monarchy, and at
times would refer to Queen Liliuokalani and her advisors as incompetent (2). Stevens

either before or after his departure for Hawaii regarding attempts at achieving
annexation in the Hawaiian Nation. (3) Stevens had many reasons of his own to
support annexation. When he arrived in the islands, he saw many great economic
and military advantages to having Hawaii annexed as a state. He realized that
Hawaii in itself was a growing industry, soon to be had as a major sugar producer
in the world at the time. Plus, Hawaii offered a huge strategic position, lying in the
middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, which could serve as a docking point for many
U.S. warships. Stevens himself felt that he was doing good in helping an expanding
America grow to even greater proportions by backing annexation in the islands.
Though the final stages of annexation in Hawaii were violent to a certain extent,
Stevens would have proclaimed that since there was no heavy military action on
either side of the dispute, which the annexation of Hawaii came easily and without
unnecessary action involved to obtain his goal. He would have most likely agreed to
the political schemes forced upon the monarchy by those in favor of annexation were

Without question, in today s society the most favored monster in pop culture is the
modern day zombie. The symbolic nature of zombies alone, is the reason that the
undead are the most successful in movies today. From these monsters creating a state
of war to confiscating humanity s normal everyday life. These movies show us the
result of an unknown situation; How will human beings react to an end of time
apocalypse scenario? Beginning with the Haitian zombiein the 1930 s, the zombie has
evolved to its modern state alongside the psychological state of society.
Zombies originated in Haiti from a belief that witch doctors could create a hypnotic
slave through magic, a potion, or hypnosis (Lockhurst). The zombie first appeared
in White Zombie, a cinematic venture from an independent film company in 1932.
The result of this movie consisted of insulting reviews even from a modern day
critic, Matt Bruson, who said, The supporting cast is awful and the low budget
dictates a few moments worthy of MST3K ribbing. But the atmosphere of dread is
pungent, the use of sound is inspired, and the makeup by the great Jack Pierce and
Carl Axcelle is minimal but effective ( White). The box office produced different
results than predicted by the critics.
Critics did not help advertise the film White Zombie, but the viewers didn t seem to
care. Upon release, the movie sold a record of 16,728 tickets in Cleveland, Ohio
alone, which was considered a high grossing film in its time

42. The Origin Of Pseudotachylite And Its Parent Rock
The objective of this paper is to inform, and educate one in the origin of
pseudotachylite and its parent rock for which it intruded. Pseudotachylite derives
from early 1900 s when it was describe as glassy metamorphosed rock that was
almost a tachtylite (Superfaults and Pseudotachylite). When a group of children slide
down a snowy hillside on a wintry day, a process known as frictional meltingis
happening underneath them. At first, they cannot gain enough speed to fulfill their
excitement because of the loosely packed snow. Eventually, their track that they
have used over and over again becomes packed down and looks somewhat more
glossy than the snow. Their tracks are frictional melting. As the weight of their sled
is pushed downward by gravity to the snow packed embankment, the cold dry snow
is heated up by the energy of the two masses rubbing together and the snow melted
quickly and was released to the atmosphere after the sled passed over. In geology, the
sled and snow are replaced with plate boundaries that cover the earth(Mcgoughlin,
1992). Frictional melting has caused scientist to be puzzled in how they formed
considering that the rockwas somewhat molten and exhibits characteristics of
formations that are under low heat and high pressure. In the upper crust, frictional
melting can be seen along in different environments. In some scenarios, it can be
visible in areas that prehistoric glaciers were present, and its aftermath of being

my four year college life, I completed courses in math (geometry, algebra, and
calculus), chemistry, biology, physics, material science and engineering. My
academic and working experiences in the past 12 months have trained me to
become a quick learner that I was able to adapt and learn quickly through on the job
training to become increasingly skilled and independent. During my six month term
at Imerys, I used a few different analytical instruments, drafted a SOP for the test
method I developed, did many repetitive tasks and was able to remain focus and
detail oriented. I also managed my time to complete all the assignments and tasks
according to their changing
44. The Pros And Cons Of Richard Nixon
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new
nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are
created equal. We have nothing to fear except fear itself. Those influential words
were said by Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt respectively. Even though
they are very influential words, my favorite has to be: By taking this action, I hope
that I will have hastened the start of the process of healing which is so desperately
needed in America. This was Richard Nixons quote as he became the first person to
resign from their presidency. Former President Richard Nixon was remembered for
many things, most notably as the worst president in the United States of America,
all because of a thing called Watergate. That begs the question: was Nixon s
presidency as bad as it is known for, or were there good things that outweigh the bad?
Richard Nixon. If you didn t already know, there is a very large amount of
controversy surrounding this former president. A large part of this controversy has
something to do with him being elected president in both 1968 and 1972. These
many years allowed many good, bad, and controversial topics surrounding Nixon.
Before we can get to all this controversy in regards to this president, we shall
explore what Nixon did before his presidency and what policies he had while he was
still in office, because it has become blatantly obvious that too many people in the
United States are
45. Reflective Essay On Faith
Faith begins in many ways. Some ways permeate through one s self logic and keep
a person grounded. To have roots in a place where you can draw strength and
forgiveness from is one of the most courageous acts I have ever adhered too. It
broke my already fractured heart to let it slip through my fingers in finality. For
every significant change in one s life, there is a catalyst; the drawback of a bow
equating to the piercing finality of where the arrow lands, the turning of a key
ending in a mass of metal moving through the world. The death of Sydney Alford
was the spark, alighting a sea of fireworks within me. My body became heavy as if
gasoline coursed through my veins; my tears sugar water just something else to
set off sparks. Why cry if you know someone is in a better place? Is it not selfish to
miss a single smile in a sea of masks, knowing how hard it is to keep authentic. This
marble drop became the catalyst; though self righteous and drowning in the
sadness of her loss this was what turned off the switch in my Rube Goldberg faith.
I do not blame her for taking that from me. Clearly, we were [my faith and I]
already on unsteady ground. I am thankful for her neverending joy and the light
she shone in my life while she here. To say what I believe exactly would be a lie.
What I believe is inexact, evolving with how I grow as a person. Christ is not my
Lord nor my Savior. I have been depending on me to save me for some time and
some days are harder fights than others.
46. Why Is Frederick The Great An Enlightened Despot
Frederick the Great: Enlightened Despot
Frederick II was an enlightened ruler of Prussia. The enlightenment was a period
of time in which the government ran by an absolute ruler. Rulers made significant
changes that affected religious, social, educational, and legal reforms. Frederick II
was the son of King Frederick William I who had ruled over Germany. He would
later become a king himself. He became king in 1740 and ruled for over forty years.
It was he who drastically changed Prussia into a powerful force. Frederick II would
become to be known by Frederick the Great based on the many positive things he
did during his rule. Two of the biggest achievements, he was able to make was his
military skill and religious tolerance. Since almost everyone liked him, he was able to
institute reforms in his country. His enlightenment rule would bring major efforts for
both reform and war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a child of wealth and royalty he had grown up with the best upbringing for his
childhood. He was a very talented musician for this time. Frederick was also a
musician that had composed some of his own sonatas and symphonies. Adding to
his smart abilities, he also knew over five languages and spoke them frequently.
Also during his tenure as king he had world famous buildings built in Berlin. The
most famous that people visit today is the Berlin Opera House. Education reforms
were a very big priority for him. Since he had a strong foundation of learning, it
was necessary only for him to establish Prussia as one of the best education systems
in Europe. His cultured knowledge allowed him to be more of an open person and a
free thinker. This benefited him mightily because he was open to more ideas, making
him an enlightened
47. The Music Of A Live Music Show Essay
Most people can agree that going to a live music show is awesome. You not only
see the musician play, but also feel the music flowing through your veins. Another
energy boost is when you know the person performing. When I saw John Puckett
play I was overwhelmed with happiness for him as well as the energy to dance.
With a smile, swirl and a stomp, my evening was full of excitement. In this article,
I will introduce you to this talented guy and hopefully turn you on to some
awesome music. John is a one man band who will knock your socks off if you get a
chance to see him preform. He was so kind to take a few minutes to answer my Q A
interview. Let s see what John had to say. SM Okay John here ya go. Thanks again
for the interview!! SM Give me a brief history of how you got into the music scene.
JP I got into playing guitar when I was about 14 or 15. I started out learning with
other musicians in a band. It was more like a group of friends. I played with a few
different bands from age 15 til about 22. I had a fall out with this one group I was
in, and that sorta pushed me in to making music by myself. I started trying to write
songs more for me than for a group. And eventually put it together into what I do
now. SM Thank goodness for fall outs huh? Okay, In three words, describe your
music style. JP Funk World Stew SM I ve seen your live one man band jams and they
are amazing. How do you prepare for a show? JP Actually, I don t really prepare for a

48. Review Of The Wrath Of Jupiter
The Wrath Of Jupiter
It started out, a normal day. I was going to the fields, like usual. My wife, Fabiana,
wanted to say good bye. Unlike most Roman marriages, we truly loved each other.
Every day I left for work she would be right there saying good bye. So far she hasn t
missed a single day. I see you are already heading out , she said. Well I want to earn
some extra money this BC , I replied. I know , she said a little upset, but I know
that you re just trying to help this family. The baby is on the way and you re right
on one thing, we need extra money. I knew she d understand. I sometimes thought
that me and Fabiana were a little peculiar because of the things we did. We were the
only ones that married for love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was about half way through the day and we had already gotten half of the fields. I
still had half the day to go but when I d get home I d get one of the best meals I d
ever have when I ever I d get home. I started to notice that it was getting darker. I
looked up and I saw that the sky was 1 spontaneously darker and filled with clouds.
That s when somebody yelled at the top of their lungs, JUPITER IS ABOUT TO
STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!! IT LOOKS LIKE IT S GOING TO HIT THE SPRING!!!
EVERYBODY RUUUUUUUN!!!!!!! That s when chaos broke loose. Everybody
was running to their homes, so they could get to cover, especially in the fields. But
I wasn t worried about getting to cover, I was worried about Fabiana. She was at
the spring and if she didn t get to cover, I don t know what I ll do. I was running to
the spring as fast as I could. I started to think that if I lost her, I wouldn t only lose
her, I d loose my new baby too. I wasn t going to lose her. I wasn t going to lose
everything. I had ran for a while until I finally saw the spring. There she was,
standing there. I yelled her name a couple of times until I caught her attention. She
started running towards me and I ran to her. We were so far away from each other,
but I just knew that we would make...BOOOOOOOM!!!!! The ground shook as I
flew to the ground. I woke up
49. Carsten Peter Research Paper
When we get a chance to go outside and look around us, often we can see a world
of nature that is more interesting and spontaneous then we would think. We live
today in a world that is filled with technology, screens, and filled with hustle.
Sometimes we humans get so caught up in the jumble of our everyday lives and
busy schedules that we forget to take a second and stop. When we slow down and
look up from our phones every once and awhile we may just be amazed. Whether it
be a beautiful sunset of scenic mountain, sometimes it s good to stop and look at
nature. All places that we go and the animals that we see can leave us with a smile
and a question in our heads. We are left wondering, Why am I always looking at mey

All you hear about is Iwant to this or I want to be that, but I was sitting there, and I

that being a chef would be perfect for me.

I will have to have no on the job training to be a chef or head cook. The employment
for chefs is expected to grow nine percent between 2014 and 2024.
The average chef works long hours and has many responsibilities the he or she
must keep up with. Most chefs work in the early morning to late in the afternoon
and work on breaks and on holidays. Most of the chefs in the food industry work
full time. Some of the responsibilities that the chef or head cook has to do are: They
check the freshness of the food and the ingredients that they are going to use that
day, they oversee the preparation of food and dishes that the customer orders, they
make up the recipes and organize the menus to put in the new recipes that they
have just created. Some of the more boring responsibilities that the chef has to deal
with everyday are: inspect the work area for cleanliness, hire or fire the chefs that
work for them or the ones that they want to work for them. They also keep inventory
of all of the food and ingredients that they have in their inventory. One of the more
strict responsibilities that the chefs have to follow is to make sure that all of the
faculty that work in their building are following the safety guidelines that he or she
has set for them.

53. Significance Of The Soweto Uprising
The Soweto Uprising was one of the worst events in the history of education with a
lot of young casualties/ deaths, all this to make a point/ let people see what is wrong
in the education system. Did this event change education in South Africa?
The event of the Soweto Uprising was on the day of June 16th 1976/ June 16th 1976,
students from the township of Soweto gathered in front of their school. The original
plan was for student from all over Soweto to have a march to the Department of Bantu
Education, and deliver a message about their complaint. They complained about the
fact that Afrikaans would be the medium of instructions in all the schools. Learners
could not understand the subjects and this created an issue. Police then got the order
to shoot and kill the protesting students. Seven hundred students died that day and the
13 year old Hector Peterson was the symbol of the uprising. The uprising changed
education and is still in affect after all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this decade a new sense of resistance had been brewing . Black students, led
by Steve Biko, formed the South African Student s Organization (SASO). A lot of
events led to the Uprising: The school children were influenced by the Black
Consciousness Movement in the 1970 s; and workers strikes in Durban in 1975;
liberation of neighbouring Angola and Mozambique in 1975. (Soweto Student
Uprising, n.d.)
Though the children was influenced by the Black Consciousness Movement, they do
not remember any influence from outside organizations that changed their decision to
protest the use of Afrikaans.
From 1976, Afrikaans were to be the medium of instructions from grade 7. English
and Afrikaans were on a 50 50 basis. This meant that subjects like maths would be
taught in Afrikaans and subjects like Science would be taught in English. Black
people were forced to learn in Afrikaans because it was believed that Afrikaans
would discipline
54. Biography Of Lillian Schwartz s Work
Beehler / MOME 115 / Lillian Schwartz 1 Motion graphics exist in the manner we
know of today due in large part to the efforts of a few particular people; those who
wanted to push mediums beyond the surface and experimented with colors,
photographs and time based art.1 Lillian Schwartz was one of those people and,
through her passion and efforts, she became a very important contributor to
motion graphics. Her past plays a huge role in how she started, why her art is
influential and how she got to where she is now. She once said, Artists today
cannot escape technology; we are surrounded by these new tools which influence
the way we work and live. 2 She speaks the truth, and we owe it all to the people
like her. Lillian Schwartz Early Life Lillian Schwartz was born in 1927 into a large
family; the 12th of 13 children. In an interview conducted in 2014, Ms. Schwartz
stated that her childhood played a huge role in her creative process. She spoke of
how her mother required each of the children to be involved with, and to study,
either art or music. Her mother promoted a very relaxed upbringing and
encouraged her children s creativity, going so far as to allow Ms. Schwartz and her
siblings to draw on almost all of the surfaces in and around the house including the
walls, the floors and the sidewalks outside. Ms. Schwartz said that because of the
freedom she was given growing up, her artwork and creative process was
55. Analysis Of Ace Ventura And School Of Rock
In both, Ace Ventura and School of Rock, comedy is proposed from the outset;
even the title and movie cover are comedic. Setting up pretend worlds creates
distances for the audience allowing them to laugh at the comedies. In Ace Ventura,
the main character, Ace Ventura, is a pet detective hired to find a missing dolphin
who is kidnapped before the Superbowl. This concept suggest absurdity at both the
ridiculousness of someone kidnapping a dolphin and a private pet detective being
hired to find it. This concept also sets up a lot of jokes throughout the movie; Ace
has a special bond with animals, an ability to communicate with animals, and in
many ways acts like an animal, especially a dog. At no point is the concept of the
movie taken seriously by the audience so the outrageousness of Ace s character and
his actions are cartoonish.
This is a very different tone from School of Rock, where the movie is set in a
somewhat more realistic world that the audience is able to identify with. School of
Rock creates comedy through a fish out of water scenario where the immature, rock
and roll loving, Dewey impersonates his roommate, Ned, and becomes a substitute
teacher for ten year olds. The scheming Dewey devises a plan to create a rock band
out of his class and win a contest, setting up multiple comedic approaches.
The role of Ace Venturaseems to be written especially for Jim Carrey as it takes
advantage of all of his physical comedy gifts. Jim Carrey honed his comedic
56. Essay on Water diuresis in man
Water Diuresis in Man Practical Report
INTRODUCTION
The body needs to maintain equilibrium to function properly in everyday life. The
most important substance it must regulate is water; water is everywhere in our body
and its balance is essential for proper body function.
A very carefully regulated process is solute concentration. If there is a sudden
increase in water which enters the extracellular fluid, sodium ions will then contribute
less to the extracellular solute concentration as the ratio between water and solute has
now changed. Osmolality is the amount of solute in a kilogram, hence the osmolality
in the extracellular space has also decreased.
Water diuresis is the increase in urinary water excreted with little or no change ...

desmopressin and exercise) differed from that in the control subjects. Explain the
following (including the underlying mechanisms):
i. why there is a delay in the onset of the diuresis after water loading in the control
subject (A); ii. the effects of administered desmopressin on the diuresis (subject B);
iii. the mechanisms by which a single session of vigorous exercise affects the
diuresis produced by the water load (subject C).
After drinking water, the control and test subjects had gradual increase of urine flow,
reaching a peak then decreasing again, whereas the desmopressin subject had
decreased urine flow after taking the hormone, thereafter plateauing. According to the
Dunnett s t test between the urine flow of the subjects, the urine flow of the treatment
subjects was significantly different to that of the control.
There is a delay in the onset of diuresis after loading in the control subject as it takes
time for the water to be filtered in the body. Water is absorbed from the gut into the
extracellular fluid. Osmoreceptors from the posterior pituitary detect the water
through cell stretch and initiate responses that control ADH secretion (Widmaier et
al., 2014). Fluids are filtered through the kidneys and the excess water is transported
to the bladder where it will then be excreted.
Desmopressin decreases the urine volume excreted. Desmopressin is a synthetic
substitute for anti diuretic hormone (ADH). ADH
