I Am Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "I Am" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as the subject
matter revolves around oneself. However, delving into the intricacies of self-expression and
introspection poses a formidable challenge. The difficulty lies not in the scarcity of material, but
in navigating the vast expanse of personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts that make up
one's identity.
To encapsulate the essence of one's existence requires a delicate balance between self-disclosure
and artful restraint. The challenge is to avoid descending into mere self-indulgence, steering clear
of clichГ©s and superficial self-reflection. Every word chosen must carry the weight of
authenticity, and each sentence should resonate with a profound understanding of one's own
complexities.
Furthermore, the task demands a level of vulnerability that can be uncomfortable for many.
Revealing the truest aspects of oneself requires courage and a willingness to confront both
strengths and vulnerabilities. The writer must navigate the fine line between self-celebration and
self-examination, ensuring the essay remains genuine rather than a curated version of reality.
The challenge is not only in the content but also in the form. Crafting a compelling narrative that
captures the reader's attention and sustains it throughout the essay is no small feat. Transitions
between different aspects of one's identity must be seamless, creating a cohesive and engaging
piece of writing.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "I Am" presents a multifaceted challenge that goes
beyond the apparent simplicity of the subject. It requires introspection, authenticity, and a keen
awareness of the delicate balance between self-disclosure and self-restraint. The writer must
navigate the complexities of personal identity with finesse, presenting a genuine and engaging
narrative. It is a task that demands both skill and courage, making it a truly challenging endeavor.

Pros And Cons Of Lower The Drinking Age
An estimated 88,000 people die due to alcohol related incidents in the U.S. each year
(WELLWVU). This is the fourth most preventable cause of death in the United
States and kills thousands of underage citizens each year. These numbers are not
declining but yet people are proposing the country lowers the legal drinking age?
After looking at statistics from the U.S. and how other countries are affected by
their legal drinking ages one would come to a conclusion that 21 is an appropriate
age for the United States. Since young adults have the responsibility of making their
own decisions, and consuming alcohol is one of them, but due to binge drinking,
impaired driving, and increased crime rates, alcohol should be off limits to those
under the age of 21.
In most states around the U.S. 18 years of age is known as the age of majority .
This declares that individuals can make their own decisions. Eighteen is also the
year minors can officially call themselves adults. Adults are able to make their own
decisions and whether or not they consume alcohol should be one of them. If
eighteen became the new drinking age, would safer drinkers develop? Some people
think so. Return the drinking age to 18 and then enforce the law. The current system,
which forbids alcohol to Americans under 21, is widely flouted, with disastrous
consequences. Teaching people to drink responsibly before they turn 21 would
enormously enhance public health. Now, high school [seniors] and

Clearly this quotation shows how Good must always face Evil at some point even
though the odds do not seem to be in your favor. Evil can be defeated through the
strength and courage of Good.
One of the best parts of this book is that it has great descriptions of scenery and the
abbey s grand feasts. Between all the fighting and action it has a nice contrast with
the details of the scenery. This quotation shows this, Dawn arrived as if it were not
aware of the previous night s events. Bright rays of sun shown down through the
trees. Steam rose as the morning dew evaporated. This quotation gives such a neat
image but lets you still image it your own way. This book has much more details that
are great.
As the book moves through the plot and is approaching it s climax you can only
wonder if Good can prevail through unimaginable odds or if Evil will conquer.

3.Identify the prerequisites
By learning what you need to know before enrolling you will be able to avoid any
frustrations caused by incapability of keeping up with the rest. Sometimes these may
be simple things, and you can compensate by taking a basic class before enrolling for
the advanced one. The prerequisites are normally listed along with the class
description and will indicate what other classes should be taken first. Further it may
list skills you should already have before enrolling.
4.Determine the cost of everything
Although most classes require a simple textbook, they are getting more expensive and
not all students can afford them. Depending on the subject matter of your class, your
books can cost upwards of $100 each, particularly in technology, accounting and
nursing. Further, depending on the type of your class, you may need additional
equipment, like a PC or other electrical equipment. It is inevitable that you will spend
additional money on these accessories, so you need to take them in account when
determining your total schooling cost.
5.Determine the instructors availability
Even though most instructors will list their contact details on their first class, you can
find out about their response time by contacting them prior to enlisting. Moreover,
you should learn about their availability once the classes start will you be able to
contact them easily, can they answer your questions and such.

Liberal News Media Analysis
News sources are networks where many people are informed about important news
event. Being liberal bias about news networks is to be open to new opinions about
an event and sometimes can be given false information or misinterpretation about
it. Having a conservative view about the news is still having to hold to certain
beliefs and values and being cautious about what changes are happening. Many
people get news from the six powers house news networks that are either liberal or
conservative. CBS, ABC, and NBC were the only news networks, since 1948,
where people were able to get the recent news happening and are now considered
the mainstream news channels which also have a liberal view about the news. CNN,
MSNBC, and CNBC are the news networks that run in cable tv and are considered

These cable news started in the 1980s because the mainstream news did not get all
the information out and were not telling the whole truth. Later in 1996, FOX News
started and became really popular because of being both liberal and conservative
and were considered the truth seekers. FOX News decided to become a news
network because since all the other six news networks were not telling the whole
truth, Fox decided to get the information and tell the truth without lying and getting
everything out. Before cable news, the mainstream news networks were the only
channels where many people get the news. All three news networks talk about the
same event happening currently, but not all will have the same details and have
different information and sometimes that information is not truth or correct because
these news sources want to be the first ones to get the news on air for people to
view and at times leave out the main focus of the occurrence. ABC, CBS, and NBC
are liberal bias and at times misinterpreted the news and give false information.

The Use of Vampire Characters in Novels
The Gothic novel is not just an ordinary story of vampirism, it is rather a story
about a very particular kind of myth that is very old, that goes back even before the
ancient Greeks. In classical mythology there have been always stories about exotic
lands inhabited by exotic creatures, there have been always a fascination with
constructing images of monsters male and female. In classical mythology there have
been always stories about the encounter between the mortal and the immortal,
between the ordinary and the exotic. There have been always an attraction to images
of monsters, designed to shock and horrify. In short various images of monstrosity are
found in classical mythology. One of the most famous , the Sirens. Barbara Creed in
her article The Monstrous Feminine: Stereotyping against the the Grain writes in
describing female monstrosity: The Sirens were deadly to the male sex. Described as
enormous birds with the heads of women, the sirens were able to sing beautiful
haunting songs which they used to lure unwary sailors to shore, where submerged
reefs tore apart their ships. These fatal creatures then devoured their prey...Like the
sirens, female vampires have often been represented as beautiful, alluring creatures
that seduce their victims before sucking their lifeblood from their veins (Creed). This
analogy Barbara Creed makes between the sirens as mythological monsters and the
vampire figure of the nineteenth century enables us understand the ongoing attraction
Critical Analysis Of Richard Georg Strauss s An Alpine...
Richard Georg Strauss was born June 11th, 1864, he was one of the leading German
composers of the late Romantic and early Modern eras. He is known for his operas
such as Elektra, Die Frau one Schatten, and Salome. The composition I am going to
analyze from Richard Strauss is his An Alpine Symphony. An Alpine Symphony
begins in low volume, leaving me with a feeling of suspense. The instruments that
commenced the piece was a fragment of the string section known as the second
violins. The string section completely joined in but became over taken by a fragment
of the brass section which was the trombones. The trombones played a long note, this
theme reminds me of a funeral because of how silent the musicians are playing their
instruments.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New instruments were introduced in this section, the instruments introduced are the
timpani and the crash cymbals. The timpani and crash cymbals are two members of
the percussion section. The timpani and crash cymbals brought back a sentimental
value to me, making me feel happiness because a few years ago, I learned how to
play both instruments for the Knox Pride of Troy Band. The two instruments bring
in excitement, the crashing of the cymbals and the rumble of the timpani are two
loud figures, I believe this section represents the composers emotion when he was
waking up from a long night of sleep. Strauss probably felt an attachment to the day
time because it is possible that he did his best work during the day time. The
xylophone was ultimately annexed during this section as the final member of the
percussion section. Like the previous section Night , the light section began to annex
in the french horns, trombones, and string section. The strings along with the timpani
and trombone added a dramatic feeling making me feel warm inside because of how
clear and filled with emotion they played. The light section ends with an allegro
movement of the timpani, the woodwinds join in, and the trumpets are officially
Partlow III introduced to end the section. The section kept a high volume, it would
never drop, it would constantly rise piece by piece. One piece that did not effect me
was the coda, because I was already used to the coda of the previous section,
The Architecture Of Schonbrunn Palace
Introduction
Schönbrunn Palace is a political, cultural, and artistic marvel as it stands today
and during the period it was made and as it exists today. The building and all
surrounding buildings are meant to be taken in as a whole, as if it were four walls
of canvases each unique and significant while still being part of the room.
Schönbrunn is seen as a Gesamtkunstwerks. It was meant to out shine Versailles
Palace in France. (5,6) From the height of the Hapsburg Empire to the present, the
Baroque style Schönbrunn Palace has provided a splendid showcase for Austria s
rich cultural tradition. It is situated on the premises of former hunting grounds, the
Baroque palace, completed in 1713 still stand to contest its beauty against other
baroque style palaces. While it is a precedent of Versailles its Zoo also became a
precedent for future architecture. The typology of this site is one of monarchical
power, leisure hunting, and the summer home, as well as heritage.(2, 3, 6) This
paper will describe the Schönbrunn Palace and provide a historical exploration of
the cultural form. The paper will begin with, a physical description of Palace and
surrounding areas, which will explore aspects such as the structure, and decorative
aspects, Buildings and other landmarks that are a part of the overall Palace.

Development of Suspense by Hitchcock in Psycho Essay
Development of Suspense by Hitchcock in Psycho
Psycho, the somewhat infamous film by Alfred Hitchcock was produced in 1961, a
time when the American censors, The Hays Office, still dominated the film industry
with their strict rules and principles. It earned its notoriety by defying the traditional
cinematic convections of that time and pushing the boundaries of what could be
shown in mainstream cinema. The rules implemented by The Hays Office were far
stricter than they are today, and Hitchcock uses all available means to reach and go
slightly beyond the set limit. Using clever and different camera angles, he implies
things that are not shown. He proves that innuendoes can portray the ... Show more

In fact, a lot of horror films today still leave their leading ladies intact by the end of
the film, e.g. Scream. Whether it is actually Marion or her sister, who is the heroine,
can then be debatable.
Abogast, the private detective who is hired to find Marion, but more importantly,
find the stolen $40,000, is also killed very soon after Marion. Once again, the
audience gets surprised as it is usually the detective who solves the mystery and
presents it to the audience at the end of the film. In this case however, Abogast is
merely a stepping stone for Sam, Marion s boyfriend and Lila, Marion s sister. He
does the majority of the work and leaves enough clues for Lila and Sam to continue
his job.
The early deaths of the main characters shocked the audience enough to leave them
mystified and at the edge of their seats for the remainder of the film. Hitchcock had
succeeded in creating suspense in his film using a new and different convention that
had never been tried before.
The early deaths concept wasn t the only technique Hitchcock used to develop the
suspense in Psycho . A more common but effective technique is also used; music. Not
just any music either, but relevant music. It is general knowledge that music can
psychologically influence people s thoughts and emotions.
The Evolution of Chinese Calligraphy
The Evolution of Chinese Calligraphy China is known for its beauty and intellectual
prestige but the one thing that mostly stands out when speaking of Chinese art is the
form of calligraphy. It is known to be one of the earliest forms of writing that can be
translated, which began thousands of years ago and is still used today. Chinese
calligraphy was invented and developed by the ancient Chinese who used the
innovation as a method of written communication. Throughout the years, the Chinese
calligraphy would evolve as the characters continue to change and later expand
greater than the previous generations. To obtain a better understanding of Chinese
calligraphy, it is imperative to understand the history of Chinese writing and how...

The KДѓi ShЕ« script emerged from a neatly written, early period semi cursive
form of the Official script. As the name suggests, the standard script is standard
indicating that each of the strokes is placed slowly and carefully, the brush is lifted
from the paper and all the strokes are distinct from each other.[12] The purpose of
this new change is because the government wanted a reduced form of the characters
to make it easier for future generations to learn. As of present time today, people who
choose to study Chinese calligraphy will start by learning how to write in KДѓi ShЕ«

Chinese students. However, one student had surpassed all the other students with the

If you are from the south, you have probably heard of the fast food chain Zaxby s.
With more than 660 locations[bandwagon, logos], the company is worth billions, all
made possible by two young entrepreneurs, Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley. The
two have been best friends since fifth grade, where they decided that there was a
need for better chicken. Later, McLeroy sold his drum set giving up his rockstar
career to start the chicken joint which now boasts a annual revenue of about 1.7

Chick fil a, the fast food restaurant commonly compared to Zaxbys, is very biased
when it comes to controversial issues such as gay rights.[creating a problem ethos]
For one, they have supported many anti gay organizations that are proven to be

damage they inflict on individuals can be deep and lasting (Condon, NBC News).
One individual, Samuel Brinton, described the methods used in conversion therapy
as mental torture. Even with two years of therapy, he is still not cured and now needs
constant mental support as he often struggles with severe depression. Chick fil A
continues to support these conversion organizations even though the American

Essay on The Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights is a list of limitations on the power of the government. Firstly, the
Bill of Rights is successful in assuring the adoption of the Constitution. Secondly, the
Bill of Rights did not address every foreseeable situation. Thirdly, the Bill of Rights
has assured the safety of the people of the nation. Successes, failures, and
consequences are what made the Bill of Rights what they are today. Firstly, the Bill
of Rights has guaranteed the adoption of the Constitution. James Madison proposed
the Bill of Rights to the First Federal Congress on June 8, 1789 (Primary Documents

constitution to the state legislatures (Constitutional Politics in Ohio 1). The... Show

An agreement was finally made to create the Bill of Rights to help secure
ratification of the Constitution itself. Secondly, the Bill of Rights did not address
every foreseeable situation. One failure of the Bill of Rights was the first amendment
of the original Bill of Rights. The amendment concerned the number of constituents
for each Representative and was never ratified. It said that once the House has one
hundred members, it should not go below one hundred, and once it reached two
hundred, it should not go below two hundred (Mount 1). Another failure was The
Anti Title Amendment. This amendment said that any citizen who accepted or
received any title of nobility from a foreign power, or who accepted without the
consent of Congress any gift from a foreign power, by would no longer be a citizen
(Mount 1). Basically, this said that if someone received or accepted something from a
foreign power, that person would no longer be a citizen. The Anti Title Amendment
was submitted to the States in 1810 and was ratified by only twelve states, the last
being in 1812 (Mount 1). Thirty eight states are required to ratify to add an
amendment. The Slavery Amendment was another failure of the Bill of Rights. This
amendment was not ratified because the House did not want any amendment to be
made to the Constitution which would authorize or give to Congress the power to
abolish or interfere, within any state, with the domestic institutions thereof, including
that of
Censorship, Media Manipulation, And Betrayal
In George Orwell s novel, 1984, he incorporates the major themes of censorship,
media manipulation, and betrayal. The citizens of Oceania are constantly
bombarded with different forms of propaganda, including the posters stating BIG
BROTHER IS WATCHING and the Party s slogans, WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM
IS SLAVERY, and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. Giant telescreens constantly run
streams of propaganda in hopes of making the Party appear superior to the
Brotherhood. According to Big Brother, sexual interactions should be kept to a
minimum and only occur to populate and produce more Party supporters. The Party
strongly encourages the children of Oceania to join the Junior Spies, an organization
that brainwashes them to report their parents or guardians if they feel they are being
disloyal to the Party and Big Brother. Nothing is private in the territory of Oceania;
technological mechanisms, such as small microphones and helicopters acting as
drones, are installed throughout to constantly monitor its members. As media
manipulation evolves and the citizens become further brainwashed, individuals have
a big decision to make, whether to rebel against the Party or betray their old ways of
life. The people of Oceania cannot express their true thoughts, emotions, and feelings
about the Party for the fear that the Thought Police will catch and turn them in. These
negative thoughts obviously exist, but not many individuals are willing to stand up
for what they believe in and who they

With this type of substratum, it favours idyllic conditions for various types of
vegetation to inhabit and create the optimum conditions for roach due to them
being both herbivorous and detritivorous feeders (Weatherley, 1987; Brabrand,
1985). Looking at figure 8 this is demonstrated as the Trews weir shows that roach
have the fastest growth rate and also attain the largest size than any other site with
they are found. From looking at Figure 9 and 10 it is evident that roach find this
type of area far more beneficial then dace as roach are in higher abundances at this
site. According to a study that had previously taken place by Cowx, 1989 said that
dace and roach sampled from the Trews Weir had a significant dietary over lap in this
area; figures 9 and 10 also show this.
Data for Trews Weir clearly implies that dace in this area do not have usual food
available in this area compared to others along the river so it is essential to look for
other food items to populate this region. This explains why they do not have a
growth rate that is in line with the other sampling site (figure 9).
The River Creedy s gradient slope is 1.9% which indicates that the flow rate is at a
medium rate. This river also has a high nutrient level as there are runoffs from farm
land and with the flow rates not as fast as the Exe then the nutrients as staying within

When developing financial services marketing strategies, it is essential to appreciate
some of the limitations cited in this chapter. However, it is equally imporant to
appreciate the ethical dilemmas that these limitations present to the financial services
marketer. The abuse of the consumers inability to process the necessary information
when evaluating a financial service is not only unethical, but in certain cases, it may
violate regulations and result in legal repercussions. It is therefore essential for a
financial services marketer not only to be aware of regulations that govern and restrict

These Consumers protection policies can t be designed based only on what
policymakers think consumers need. They must be grounded in the reality of
consumers lives, based on solid research that shows how people really act and interact
with their financial services, and which provides insights into their vulnerabilities
(Rootman, 2010). According to Rootman author of The Dodd Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act recent research in behavioral economics has
revealed that all types of consumers can behave in certain irrational ways, impacting
consumers ability to make sound financial decisions.
People are impatient and discount (Asymmetric Discounting) future rewards more
when they are asked to delay consumption than when they are offered the chance to
accelerate consumption (Harass, 2004). Asymmetric discounting implies that
consumers are relatively farsighted when making tradeoffs between rewards at
different times in the future, but pursue immediate gratification when it is available
(Camerer, 2006). Discounting is most likely to be found for products that involve
immediate benefits with delayed cost such as the use of credit cards. People often
make errors when choosing and using financial products, and can suffer considerable
losses as a result. Using behavioral

Cheese is a very popular food in daily life. Cheese is a solid food made from milk.
It is usually white or yellow. Cheese, one of which is also known as cheese, is a

As Russia s ban on the import of dairy products, the demand for dairy products has
dropped dramatically, reducing the cost of placing cheese on the shelves in the

TARGET MARKET: The main target markets for cheese are commercial customers
and household. In regard to the sake of commercial customers, because their lives
are fast, and nowadays most restaurants offer fast food, cheese in fast foods is
almost essential. For example, there is cheese in a McDonald s hamburgers, so the
restaurants daily need cheese. On the other hand, children and young people now like
to eat snacks or eat breakfast, such as cheese biscuits and sandwiches. In addition,
parents are now interested in bringing their children to make their own food with
cheese (Rumman, Ahmed, Riffat, Rezanoor, Howlader, 2014).
DESCRIPTION OF THE
13th Century American Renaissance Humanism
While the 12th and 13th centuries were periods of expansion in economic, social,
intellectual, and religious fronts, the 14th and 15th century were marked by almost
uninterrupted warfare, plague, and depression. However, the one and only area of
life that did not diminish at all was culture. To the contrary, cultural life (especially
writing) did not slow down. It began expanding in the 11th century and never
stopped, even though the troubled religious and economic scenario of the 1500s.
During this time a poet by the name of Petrarch wrote many letters where he would
communicate with a long dead Roman philosopher and friend Cicero. In these
letters, Cicero would write back to him . Petrarch was careful enough to maintain
Cicero s own style of writing whenever it was Cicero s turn to write , almost in an
attempt to revive the Greek style of thinking. For this reason, Petrarch is considered
being at the forefront of Renaissancehumanism. Renaissance humanism was an
intellectual movement based on the study of the Classical literary works of Greece
and Rome (Spielvogel 344). This period was a blooming time in art and thought that
took over Europein the 1500s. This revolution in thinking consisted of a revived...

while Nick s team was up to kick. Nick was the first kicker up, and I was pitching.
Gracie, Kenzie, Cody, and Ethan were behind me getting ready for Nick to kick. I
pitch nick the ball then wham! The kickball went right into Gracie s face. It hit her

something else. When we got back there about a hour left until the concert was over.

Attaining My Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
I was in a remote village in the Peruvian Andes conducting art therapy with prisoners
when I realized this was the most meaningful experience of my life, and it should not
be. The study and practice of psychology are the place where my humanitarian and
intellectual interests align. I am applying to the clinical psychologyprogram to fulfil
the training I need to continue to make meaningful contributions to society and also
contribute to the field of psychology through research. A family illness that is now
happily behind me delayed me from doing so sooner.

I realized that being a good clinician required doing both. Yet despite the field s
limitations, the department did an excellent job of educating and challenging me with
psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and cognitive theory, as well as applied clinical
practice. I took great pleasure in actively participating in discussions, and enjoyed
researching and writing papers.
My greatest inspiration derived from my various field internships. Specifically, my
most captivating experience involved working in La Prison Yanamilla in Ayacucho,
Peru. I worked with a team of fellow art therapy students in developing and
implementing plans to provide therapeutic services to groups of 150 inmates at a
time. Despite my limited Spanish, the visual modality of art therapy facilitated the
prisoners desires to articulate their frustrations, grief, and, conversely, their hope. The
prisoners opportunity to be heard and treated humanely transcended complex prison
problems and the difficulties of working in large groups. Learning about local
customs, politics, and international relations and their impact on the prisoners added
context and perspective to this unique experience, and inspired a greater interest in
social justice.
Next, I sought formal clinical setting to enhance my confidence and ability to
implement theory into practice. I found that in droves in a placement at Bellevue

A Split Personality Morals Against Corruption
With reality shows taking over airtime nowadays, psychological thrillers in
television are a rare genre. Admittedly, it can be a tasking genre to develop a show
around, but Vince Gilligan has managed to create, quite possibly one of the greatest
shows ever, Breaking Bad. In the pilot episode, the audience was introduced to
Walter White, a middle aged high school Chemistry teacher. He sounds like an
average, typical man, but he was introduced in the most peculiar way. Gilligan
opened this award winning show with Walter, underwear clad, holding a pistol, next

The newfound distributor turned out to be a sociopath, so in order to protect his
identity Walter created the alias Heisenberg for himself. This was the point when
Walter s psychological health began decaying rapidly. Walter s one wrong turn
after another was taking a toll on him and his home life. He became the man he
once hated, a man who his family could no longer trust. His time away from home
living his secret life became extremely suspicious to his wife, Skylar. She knew
about his cancer, but not of his life in the drug realm. In a very intense episode in
which Walter was to meet up with this sociopathic distributor, everything takes a
turn for the worst. The distributor takes him prisoner for almost 48 hours, and
almost kills him. This obviously brought concern to his wife, who had no idea
where Walter might be. Once everything had been resolved, Walter made a daring
move to reappear miles away from home, naked, in a supermarket. He told his
family, friends, and even doctors that I blacked out. I don t remember anything for
the past 24 hours. These doctors have me on so many pills that it must be affecting

attempt to hide his other life. With the deceit, his marriage began to decline
because Skylar did not believe him. However, it was not because of his
disappearance why she did not believe him. As Walter was going into a drug induced

Exercise Your Throttle Thumb: Snowmobile in Idaho s Backcountry
Having grown up in Idaho, I look forward to the first snowfall of winter like a kid
looks forward to Christmas morning. I love winter, and just can t get enough of it.
From skiing and finding hot springs hidden in the mountains to snowmobiling
through unending valleys of fresh powder, winters in the Gem State are always

Idahoans see snowfall, throw on our boots, and run for the hills.
One of the unique ways to explore Idaho s snow blanketed wilderness is on a

The Ethics and Impracticality of Creating Life:
A Critical Analysis of Frankenstein
Moral Criticism harbors in the basis of societal and personal perceptions of ethics
and morality, both in regards to the author s belief system and the general ideology of
the society at the given time of a text s conception (Brizee 1). Within Frankenstein by
Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein tests the limits of ethical and moral concerns in
his experimentation and successful animation of his creature. The novel explores the
wonder and tranquility Victor has for nature, yet, in his defiance of its will with his
metaphysical science, his creature dreads living and his life as a whole(Shelley ...

The theistic vitalist position posits a divinely created soul, and thus asserts that
human subjects do not fashion their own morality but, instead, seek to discover
absolute moral law that is defined by an absolutely good moral law giver. The mere
assertion of an absolute moral law indeed does not guarantee moral behavior. For
example, through his exposure to Milton s Paradise Lost, the Creature embraces the
Christian theistic worldview and its revelation of an absolute moral law, yet he still
commits murder. However, the theistic understanding of absolute morality does
provide a rationally consistent basis upon which to defend objective moral judgments.
The problem central to Frankenstein is the belief of its central character that he can
perform the ultimate usurpation, that of God. There is an extreme vanity and
egotism acting as the motivating force for Victor s work, as opposed to a
disinterested desire to further the interest of the human race in general. Victor s true
desire is to gain divine knowledge of the world, with the inevitable consequence,
therefore, of substituting himself for the divine

The Melting Of An Ice Age
An Ice Age is a period of geologic time in which the Earth s climate sees a dramatic
drop in temperatures. This basically means that it is a lot cooler than it was in
different parts of earth s geologic history. As a matter of fact, earth is believed to be
in the middle of a glaciation period currently because of our polar ice sheets. As we
know it today there were about six ice ages that have occurred throughout the
history of the earth. Glaciation periods have helped shape the earth as we know it
today and has helped humanity progress down its evolutionary track. Though it is
agreed upon that several ice ages have occurred during earth history, the cause of
these cycles is still a mystery waiting to be solved. The Huronian Glaciation or
Snowball Earth is believed to be the oldest ice agein earth s history. Roughly 2.4 to
2.1 billion years ago. During this particular ice age, ice cover the earth from pole
to pole, the entire planet was frozen, nothing could survive. Our next two ice ages
were during the Cryogenian Period, which is nicknamed the Deep Freeze because
this was the deepest cold the earth has ever experienced. The Sturtian Glaciation
750 700 million years ago, and the Varanger/Marinoan Glaciation which occurred
660 to 635 million years ago. There is a possibly that the earth was a snowball at
these glaciation periods but proof has not been provided yet. The Andean Saharan ice
age during the end of the Ordovician period and beginning of the Silurian period
Ducks Unlimited Vs. Delta Waterfowl
Ducks Unlimited vs. Delta Waterfowl Even though there are many ways to
conserve waterfowl, there technically are not any wrong ways. However, one could
argue that there are better ways. That debate rages on between sportsmen and
environmental conservationists alike. There are two big organizations when it
comes to conserving waterfowl and wetlands, Ducks Unlimited and Delta
Waterfowl. Both groups are able to raise millions of dollars for waterfowl due to
their enormous amount of members. However, I feel that Ducks Unlimited is the
better conservation group because they can maintain and manage the landscape of an
ecosystem effectively, and they are a greater political force compared to Delta
Waterfowl. Ducks Unlimited was founded by Joseph... Show more content on

Ducks Unlimited tries to revert these watersheds back to their natural levels by
draining the wetlands that have extremely high levels of contaminants in the water.
They then clean the soil in the habitat and find a way to decrease the extra
contaminates from entering the watershed. Next they will pump healthy water
back into the wetlands and install buffer strips that act like a filter that will catch
the extra nutrients and silt. The restoration of grasslands and forests is extremely
important when it comes to breeding grounds for ducks. Dabbling Ducks use the
tall grass found around ponds or in marshes to build nest and raise their young.
Diving Ducks will flock to flooded forest areas and build a nest inside the holes of
a tree and they will raise their young from above the ground. In recent years these
habitats have been reduced significantly for farming and other purposes. In order to
restore these habitats Ducks Unlimited must first purchase the land from the
landowner. After they have the rights to the property they will begin to make
changes to the area so it can be a more suitable ecosystem for waterfowl. When
restoring grasslands Ducks Unlimited will replant the local grasses and dig ponds in
the area, these actions will help hatchlings survive to adulthood. After these properties
have been restored Ducks Unlimited will donate the land to government agencies that

Standardized Databases And Benchmarks For Experiment
In order to evaluate which approach is better in this field, some standardized
databases and benchmarks for experiment are designed. Many databases are
designed for different kinds of methods, owing that different methods may have
different assumptions on shapes. A commonly used database is 99shapes, by
Kimia et al. It contains ninety nine planar shapes which classified into nine classes,
with eleven shapes in each. Shapes in the same class are in different variant form,
including occluded, noised, rotated, etc. Other databases including MPEG 7 Shape
Dataset [5], Articulated Dataset, Swedish Leaf Dataset and Brown Dataset are
used to have further experiments. Similar to [13], Precision and Recall is used for
benchmark for the reason of fair comparisons. C.Results and Discussion Table I
shows the optimal result from test on 99shape dataset. The numbers of points we
sampled from the shapes are 50, 50 and 25 for RSD, RAD and TF respectively. For
the articulated dataset, 45, 35 and 45 points are sample for RSD, RAD and TF.
Retrieval result on articulated dataset was presented in Table I. We have noticed that
result on 99shape from RAD is slightly better than RSD, while on articulated dataset
RSD performs slightly better than RAD. During the above experiment, we tried to
normalize the descriptors and found that experiment on 99 shapes received little
influence from normalization while result from articulated dataset has some
improvement. From the Table I, our

A Cathedral is a place for people to go and worship, to connect with God. By drawing
the Cathedral the narrator is in some ways also making a connection. For the first
time he appears to be able to see.
There is also a sense of irony at the end of the story. The narrator s eyes are closed
and he is being led by a blind man, yet he is able to see. Carver never explains what
it is the narrator sees, but there is the sense that he has found a connection and is no
longer detached or isolated.
Raymond Carvers choice of theme of blindness makes his goal of offering a
deeper understanding of the nature of human a success. He is able to tell readers
that there is physical blindness and psychological blindness. Those with the
physical disability could see well than those who are not. This motif is accentuated
by these examples from the story the first is the demeanor of Bub which shows
signs of disapproval of the imminent visit of his wife s blind friend, the second is
his contemplating the basis of his wife s friendship with Robert, and the third is his
verbal and sensory interaction with the blind man when he draws a cathedral on a

The 8th Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the people from a

to fair bail falls under due process because it is selectively incorporated in order to

that the defendant who is paying bail is given a fair/reasonable bail price. The issue

Metamorphosis By Kafka
When I was younger my fear for insects was nonexistent. Growing up I didn t see
many insects till I moved to the East Coast. Some of the insects I came across was
beautiful, for example at night fireflies would light up, and that fascinated me.
Other insects such as flying ants and roaches made me no longer enjoy the idea of
insects as once before. In today s American society it s common that people
deveolped their own perceptions about insects. In Kafka s Metamorphosis, the story
explained how Gregor s family didn t accept his transition. Gregor was practically
disowned and treated differently. His family viewed him as
disgusting. Therefore,Gregor s experience directly correlates with how people today

In the story of greedy father, an adult, rather than a child played his daughter. In order
to enhance the realism of the play, the daughters costume was chosen to represent the
nature of a child. This costume choice was consistent with the director s concept and
accurately communicated the age and relationship of the daughter to the father. In the
story of the love struck boy, a man disguises himself as an old beggar women so
that he may get insight on a girl he is in love with. The beggar costume created an
entirely new relationship between the man and woman and allowed the man to freely
approach his love to learn of her feelings for him.
When discussing the design elements, I feel as though the element of light gets
overlooked more times than not. Throughout the entirety of the performance, light
played a key role in developing effects, and creating a visual reality. The first
instance we saw light was in the myth of the greedy father and his daughter. In the
story, the father is granted one wish; that everything he touches turn to gold.
Unfortunately for the man, his wish comes true and every single thing he touches is
instantly transformed to gold. In order to display this element of the play, a golden
light was shined on any object the father touched, including his daughter. This light
illuminated the action of the story and worked to fulfill the director s concept. As an
audience, we also saw the use of light during an actor s important set of lines. In

On July 13, 2008, Taliban fighters launched a major assault on a small U.S. Army

The Battalion s plan to realign within the Wygal Valley and establish a combat

The Decline Of Ballymun
Ballymun was Irelands first high rise town scheme. In 1963 Ireland was in urgent
need of houses. This demand was due to the population growth of the 50 s and 60 s.
It was also to move away from tenement dwellings. Most of the tenement buildings
were dilapidated, old and in urgent need of repair. An alternative to this type of
housing became a crucial political standpoint. The planners and architects were
convinced that system building and high rise architecture was the only conceivable
solution to the housing crisis in Ireland . Somerville Woodward, R. (1997) Pg 35.
[Factors Which Led to Decline] The decline of Ballymun can be attributed to three
major factors, these are construction and design, landscaping and the lack of
amenities. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

development in a range of uses by different industries. To build on or have

Incentives and tax breaks are to be given to new businesses and industries coming
into the area, in the hopes of employing a local workforce. These incentives are also
being granted to existing local businesses too, to try further develop them.
Incorporating Ballymun into the wider industrial market has always been an aim. Its
location, a short distance from Dublin airport and right beside the M50 motorway
was a major focal point in the regeneration plan. It is anticipated that Ballymun could
piggyback on the success that Dublin airport and its surrounds have had enticing
international companies to set up in Dublin. Changing how Ballymun is perceived
by investors is critical to a successful regeneration of the area, as it will need
independent investment in the form of business and enterprise besides public
schemes if the area wants to grow. Increasing the skill base and level of education in
the area Will increase opportunities for employment and business development .

India Solar Radiation Resource Assessment stations (51 nos) have been installed
across India by the Ministry of New and Non Conventional Energy (MNRE) to
create a database of solar energy potential. Data is collected and reported to the
Centre for Wind Energy Technology (C WET), in order to create a Solar Atlas. In
June 2015, India started a в‚№40 Crore (US$5.9 million) project to measure solar
radiation with a spatial resolution of 3 km x 3 km. This solar radiation measuring
network will provide the basis for the functioning of the Indian Solar Radiation
Atlas. According to officials at NIWE, the Solar Radiation Resource Assessment
wing (SRRA) 121 ground stations would measure the three parameters of solar
radiation: Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI), Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI)
and Diffuse Horizontal Irradiance (DHI) to give a highly accurate measure of solar
radiation in a particular region. The government of India is promoting the use of
solar energy through various strategies. In the latest budget for FY2010 11, the
government has announced an allocation of в‚№1,000 Crore (US$150 million)
towards the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and the establishment of a
clean energy fund. This is an increase of в‚№380 Crore (US$56 million) from the
previous budget. This new budget has also encouraged private solar companies by
reducing customs duty on solar panels by 5% and exempting excise duty

  • 1. I Am Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "I Am" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as the subject matter revolves around oneself. However, delving into the intricacies of self-expression and introspection poses a formidable challenge. The difficulty lies not in the scarcity of material, but in navigating the vast expanse of personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts that make up one's identity. To encapsulate the essence of one's existence requires a delicate balance between self-disclosure and artful restraint. The challenge is to avoid descending into mere self-indulgence, steering clear of clichГ©s and superficial self-reflection. Every word chosen must carry the weight of authenticity, and each sentence should resonate with a profound understanding of one's own complexities. Furthermore, the task demands a level of vulnerability that can be uncomfortable for many. Revealing the truest aspects of oneself requires courage and a willingness to confront both strengths and vulnerabilities. The writer must navigate the fine line between self-celebration and self-examination, ensuring the essay remains genuine rather than a curated version of reality. The challenge is not only in the content but also in the form. Crafting a compelling narrative that captures the reader's attention and sustains it throughout the essay is no small feat. Transitions between different aspects of one's identity must be seamless, creating a cohesive and engaging piece of writing. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "I Am" presents a multifaceted challenge that goes beyond the apparent simplicity of the subject. It requires introspection, authenticity, and a keen awareness of the delicate balance between self-disclosure and self-restraint. The writer must navigate the complexities of personal identity with finesse, presenting a genuine and engaging narrative. It is a task that demands both skill and courage, making it a truly challenging endeavor. For those seeking assistance with such challenging writing tasks, a variety of services are available. • 2. Pros And Cons Of Lower The Drinking Age An estimated 88,000 people die due to alcohol related incidents in the U.S. each year (WELLWVU). This is the fourth most preventable cause of death in the United States and kills thousands of underage citizens each year. These numbers are not declining but yet people are proposing the country lowers the legal drinking age? After looking at statistics from the U.S. and how other countries are affected by their legal drinking ages one would come to a conclusion that 21 is an appropriate age for the United States. Since young adults have the responsibility of making their own decisions, and consuming alcohol is one of them, but due to binge drinking, impaired driving, and increased crime rates, alcohol should be off limits to those under the age of 21. In most states around the U.S. 18 years of age is known as the age of majority . This declares that individuals can make their own decisions. Eighteen is also the year minors can officially call themselves adults. Adults are able to make their own decisions and whether or not they consume alcohol should be one of them. If eighteen became the new drinking age, would safer drinkers develop? Some people think so. Return the drinking age to 18 and then enforce the law. The current system, which forbids alcohol to Americans under 21, is widely flouted, with disastrous consequences. Teaching people to drink responsibly before they turn 21 would enormously enhance public health. Now, high school [seniors] and

One of the best parts of this book is that it has great descriptions of scenery and the abbey s grand feasts. Between all the fighting and action it has a nice contrast with the details of the scenery. This quotation shows this, Dawn arrived as if it were not aware of the previous night s events. The Use of Vampire Characters in Novels The Gothic novel is not just an ordinary story of vampirism, it is rather a story about a very particular kind of myth that is very old, that goes back even before the ancient Greeks. In classical mythology there have been always stories about exotic lands inhabited by exotic creatures, there have been always a fascination with constructing images of monsters male and female. In classical mythology there have been always stories about the encounter between the mortal and the immortal, between the ordinary and the exotic. There have been always an attraction to images of monsters, designed to shock and horrify. In short various images of monstrosity are found in classical mythology. One of the most famous , the Sirens. Barbara Creed in her article The Monstrous Feminine: Stereotyping against the the Grain writes in describing female monstrosity: The Sirens were deadly to the male sex. Described as enormous birds with the heads of women, the sirens were able to sing beautiful haunting songs which they used to lure unwary sailors to shore, where submerged reefs tore apart their ships. These fatal creatures then devoured their prey...Like the sirens, female vampires have often been represented as beautiful, alluring creatures that seduce their victims before sucking their lifeblood from their veins (Creed). This analogy Barbara Creed makes between the sirens as mythological monsters and the vampire figure of the nineteenth century enables us understand the ongoing attraction
  • 7. Critical Analysis Of Richard Georg Strauss s An Alpine... Richard Georg Strauss was born June 11th, 1864, he was one of the leading German composers of the late Romantic and early Modern eras. He is known for his operas such as Elektra, Die Frau one Schatten, and Salome. The composition I am going to analyze from Richard Strauss is his An Alpine Symphony. An Alpine Symphony begins in low volume, leaving me with a feeling of suspense. The instruments that commenced the piece was a fragment of the string section known as the second violins. The string section completely joined in but became over taken by a fragment of the brass section which was the trombones. The trombones played a long note, this theme reminds me of a funeral because of how silent the musicians are playing their instruments.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New instruments were introduced in this section, the instruments introduced are the timpani and the crash cymbals. The timpani and crash cymbals are two members of the percussion section. The timpani and crash cymbals brought back a sentimental value to me, making me feel happiness because a few years ago, I learned how to play both instruments for the Knox Pride of Troy Band. The two instruments bring in excitement, the crashing of the cymbals and the rumble of the timpani are two loud figures, I believe this section represents the composers emotion when he was waking up from a long night of sleep. Strauss probably felt an attachment to the day time because it is possible that he did his best work during the day time. The xylophone was ultimately annexed during this section as the final member of the percussion section. Like the previous section Night , the light section began to annex in the french horns, trombones, and string section. The strings along with the timpani and trombone added a dramatic feeling making me feel warm inside because of how clear and filled with emotion they played. The light section ends with an allegro movement of the timpani, the woodwinds join in, and the trumpets are officially Partlow III introduced to end the section. The section kept a high volume, it would never drop, it would constantly rise piece by piece. One piece that did not effect me was the coda, because I was already used to the coda of the previous section,

It earned its notoriety by defying the traditional cinematic convections of that time and pushing the boundaries of what could be shown in mainstream cinema. The rules implemented by The Hays Office were far stricter than they are today, and Hitchcock uses all available means to reach and go slightly beyond the set limit. Once again, the audience gets surprised as it is usually the detective who solves the mystery and presents it to the audience at the end of the film. In this case however, Abogast is merely a stepping stone for Sam, Marion s boyfriend and Lila, Marion s sister. He does the majority of the work and leaves enough clues for Lila and Sam to continue his job. The early deaths of the main characters shocked the audience enough to leave them mystified and at the edge of their seats for the remainder of the film. Hitchcock had succeeded in creating suspense in his film using a new and different convention that had never been tried before. The early deaths concept wasn t the only technique Hitchcock used to develop the suspense in Psycho . A more common but effective technique is also used; music. Not just any music either, but relevant music. It is general knowledge that music can psychologically influence people s thoughts and emotions.

It said that once the House has one hundred members, it should not go below one hundred, and once it reached two hundred, it should not go below two hundred (Mount 1). Another failure was The Anti Title Amendment. This amendment said that any citizen who accepted or received any title of nobility from a foreign power, or who accepted without the consent of Congress any gift from a foreign power, by would no longer be a citizen (Mount 1). Basically, this said that if someone received or accepted something from a foreign power, that person would no longer be a citizen. • 13. Censorship, Media Manipulation, And Betrayal In George Orwell s novel, 1984, he incorporates the major themes of censorship, media manipulation, and betrayal. The citizens of Oceania are constantly bombarded with different forms of propaganda, including the posters stating BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING and the Party s slogans, WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. Giant telescreens constantly run streams of propaganda in hopes of making the Party appear superior to the Brotherhood. According to Big Brother, sexual interactions should be kept to a minimum and only occur to populate and produce more Party supporters. The Party strongly encourages the children of Oceania to join the Junior Spies, an organization that brainwashes them to report their parents or guardians if they feel they are being disloyal to the Party and Big Brother. Nothing is private in the territory of Oceania; technological mechanisms, such as small microphones and helicopters acting as drones, are installed throughout to constantly monitor its members. As media manipulation evolves and the citizens become further brainwashed, individuals have a big decision to make, whether to rebel against the Party or betray their old ways of life. The people of Oceania cannot express their true thoughts, emotions, and feelings about the Party for the fear that the Thought Police will catch and turn them in. These negative thoughts obviously exist, but not many individuals are willing to stand up for what they believe in and who they

From looking at Figure 9 and 10 it is evident that roach find this type of area far more beneficial then dace as roach are in higher abundances at this site. According to a study that had previously taken place by Cowx, 1989 said that dace and roach sampled from the Trews Weir had a significant dietary over lap in this area; figures 9 and 10 also show this. Data for Trews Weir clearly implies that dace in this area do not have usual food available in this area compared to others along the river so it is essential to look for other food items to populate this region. This explains why they do not have a growth rate that is in line with the other sampling site (figure 9). According to Rootman author of The Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act recent research in behavioral economics has revealed that all types of consumers can behave in certain irrational ways, impacting consumers ability to make sound financial decisions. People are impatient and discount (Asymmetric Discounting) future rewards more when they are asked to delay consumption than when they are offered the chance to accelerate consumption (Harass, 2004). Asymmetric discounting implies that consumers are relatively farsighted when making tradeoffs between rewards at different times in the future, but pursue immediate gratification when it is available (Camerer, 2006). Discounting is most likely to be found for products that involve immediate benefits with delayed cost such as the use of credit cards. People often make errors when choosing and using financial products, and can suffer considerable losses as a result. Using behavioral

Within Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein tests the limits of ethical and moral concerns in his experimentation and successful animation of his creature. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The theistic vitalist position posits a divinely created soul, and thus asserts that human subjects do not fashion their own morality but, instead, seek to discover absolute moral law that is defined by an absolutely good moral law giver. The mere assertion of an absolute moral law indeed does not guarantee moral behavior. For example, through his exposure to Milton s Paradise Lost, the Creature embraces the Christian theistic worldview and its revelation of an absolute moral law, yet he still commits murder. However, the theistic understanding of absolute morality does provide a rationally consistent basis upon which to defend objective moral judgments. The problem central to Frankenstein is the belief of its central character that he can perform the ultimate usurpation, that of God. There is an extreme vanity and egotism acting as the motivating force for Victor s work, as opposed to a disinterested desire to further the interest of the human race in general. Victor s true desire is to gain divine knowledge of the world, with the inevitable consequence, therefore, of substituting himself for the divine

  • 29. The Melting Of An Ice Age An Ice Age is a period of geologic time in which the Earth s climate sees a dramatic drop in temperatures. This basically means that it is a lot cooler than it was in different parts of earth s geologic history. As a matter of fact, earth is believed to be in the middle of a glaciation period currently because of our polar ice sheets. As we know it today there were about six ice ages that have occurred throughout the history of the earth. Glaciation periods have helped shape the earth as we know it today and has helped humanity progress down its evolutionary track. Though it is agreed upon that several ice ages have occurred during earth history, the cause of these cycles is still a mystery waiting to be solved. The Huronian Glaciation or Snowball Earth is believed to be the oldest ice agein earth s history. Roughly 2.4 to 2.1 billion years ago. During this particular ice age, ice cover the earth from pole to pole, the entire planet was frozen, nothing could survive. Our next two ice ages were during the Cryogenian Period, which is nicknamed the Deep Freeze because this was the deepest cold the earth has ever experienced. The Sturtian Glaciation 750 700 million years ago, and the Varanger/Marinoan Glaciation which occurred 660 to 635 million years ago. There is a possibly that the earth was a snowball at these glaciation periods but proof has not been provided yet. Ducks Unlimited tries to revert these watersheds back to their natural levels by draining the wetlands that have extremely high levels of contaminants in the water. They then clean the soil in the habitat and find a way to decrease the extra contaminates from entering the watershed. The restoration of grasslands and forests is extremely important when it comes to breeding grounds for ducks. Dabbling Ducks use the tall grass found around ponds or in marshes to build nest and raise their young. Diving Ducks will flock to flooded forest areas and build a nest inside the holes of a tree and they will raise their young from above the ground. In recent years these habitats have been reduced significantly for farming and other purposes. In order to restore these habitats Ducks Unlimited must first purchase the land from the landowner. Solar Radiation Resource Assessment Stations 2.33 Government support 2.33.1 Solar Radiation Resource Assessment stations in India Solar Radiation Resource Assessment stations (51 nos) have been installed across India by the Ministry of New and Non Conventional Energy (MNRE) to create a database of solar energy potential. Data is collected and reported to the Centre for Wind Energy Technology (C WET), in order to create a Solar Atlas.
