There are many different forms of entertainment media that has made an impact on
the American culture. However, the one I feel that has made the biggest impact on
American culture is the music industry.
I say that because, if you look at the music from the 50 s and the 60 s, the music
was smooth, it spoke to the teens and the adults in a certain way, the kids danced in
a calm manner, they danced in a respectful manner. In the 70 s and 80 s, the music
took on a distinctive style, therefore, the dances and the clothing took on a different
style. The clothing began to show body parts, the stomach was the main part that
showed. In the 50 s and 60 s you just did not do that. You kept your body covered.
When the music changed, the kids changed.
In the 80 s and 90 s, it took on more of a drastic change. Rap came on the scene, as
well as, the disco era. When this era came about, the kids changed even more. Their
clothing, haircuts, and even their language changed. It got to be such a drastic
change where men were wearing makeup and as much jewelry as the women were.
Then came the Gangsta Rap, which brought about the gang scene. Everybody was

There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of
modern political thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and
businessmen. Machiavelli recognized the political playing field as a vile place only
for the most dominating and cunning of political giants. One of Machiavelli s most
famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other title, The Prince, absolutely
announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between moral and
religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still
somewhat in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the
people, oppressive power, and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific
groups of people such as the political elite and the general public within this work.
While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite,
he examines a different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his
public. Machiavelli noted that he can share his power with his people, since he can
trust his people more than he can the nobles. The nobles cannot be satisfied if their
ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical than the nobles are. The
people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in his people

I am walking on the sidewalk, as far away as I can from the gas station for now. I
run into a library. At least I get to rest a bit, while enjoying the cool air inside the

My one English teacher I had in my 8th grade year, Mrs. O Neil was my favorite
teacher ever. She was always so kind to me, even though no one else was. They
thought I didn t belong, maybe just like my parents. She always picked out books
for me she thought I would enjoy, which isn t hard to find. Her long, straight
strawberry blonde hair left me jealous. I thought she was beautiful, what I yearned
to be. My short, curly dark hair was the exact opposite. Even though I was jealous
of her, she was my idol. My fondest memory of her was when it was right before
Christmas break. I always dreaded break times because that meant more time at
whatever home I was staying at, for the time, and they weren t always good.
Especially this year. She had set aside 4 books on her desk, the last day before break.
The bell rang and all of the students started shuffling out of their seats, to get out of
