Impact Of Donald Trump On The Us Economy
Donald Trump V.S. United States Economy
President Elect Donald Trump will enter office January 20, 2017. He has many great plans and
ideas on how to improve the United States economy drastically. Many economists have argued on
how Trump s plan will improve the United States, but can do some damage to the U.S. Currently,
the United States is in twenty trillion dollars in debt. The main question is: Is Trump the right
man for the job? Today, the focus would be on how Donald J. Trump s plan can revamp the
United States economy and what effect will it do overall. Donald Trump s plan focal point is on
cutting taxes and how that will result in many benefits towards the economy. The president elect
has said he can get the economy to grow nearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, he wants to appoint the toughest and smallest trade negotiators to fight on behalf of
American workers.(Fernandez 1). Mr. Trump wants to understand and see where the American
workers jobs are going. Furthermore, he wants to note why millions of Americans don t have
jobs and who are taking them away. To do that he has to first renegotiate NAFTA or get rid of it
(Fernandez 2).What is NAFTA and what mess it is creating? Basically, a trade agreement
between the USA, Mexico and Canada formed by Bill Clinton, and it has let many Americans
without jobs because most of them have gone to Mexico. That is the main reason Donald J.
Trump hates this agreement and how it has destroyed the United States economy to bits and
pieces. Additionally, what makes Trump fierce is that China has been stealing American trade
secrets for many years. He clearly stated, If China does not stop its illegal activities, including its
theft of American trade secrets, I will use every lawful presidential power to remedy trade
disputes, including the application of tariffs consistent with Section 201 and 301 of the Trade
Act of 1974 and Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Fernandez 3). Clearly, this
shows that Trump is serious about his job and doesn t care if he is dealing with China. China has
been stealing all our trade secrets and Barack Obama didn t do anything about it. In brief, this
clearly shows that our future President has the characteristics and personality of a true leader that is
ready for this great battle.
Our economy has gone down hill since Barack Obama stepped into office in the year of 2008.
Our newly elected president, Donald J. Trump, has shown through his economic plan that he will
bring back jobs and cut taxes drastically for everyone. In all, these major changes towards our
economy will make America great

A Research Report On Rural Surveillance
Rural surveillance, although can be done in almost any settings, is usually conducted in rural,
farming, countryside or isolated areas where the use of an observation van is impractical. (Jenkins,
2010, p.205). The allegations and charges that were cited in both the Ruby Ridge and Waco
incidents were severe enough to warrant such surveillance and information gathering. The
allegations and charges in the case of the Waco siegeand stand off include firing of automatic
weapons from their compound, modifying legally purchased guns into illegal weapons, stock piling
illegal weapons, child abuse, advocating polygamy, fathering many children through a harem run
by the leader of the group. The location of the compound was in a rural areaand for... Show more

The government also had an informant infiltrate the target but unknown to him, his cover had
already been blown. The target must have fed him with wrong and misleading information as was
evidenced in his reply about what the target group were doing. He replied that they were praying
when in actuality they were arming themselves for the siege from the government.
If the government had taken the time to set up an OP, taking note to use all rural OP precautions,
they would have been able to overtime get in close, set up both surface and sub surface OPs and
gather evidence or information about the illegal weapons production activities, observe automatic
gun fire activities, confirm daily routine of key target group members. The surveillance could have
produced information on child abuse issues as well as polygamous activities. Intelligence from the
surveillance could have been used to better coordinate efforts of all agencies involved with the
siege. An even better alternative would have been to arrest the main target when he was out of his
comfort zone as he often did by mingling with locals during gun shows.
Lack of coordination even among one government agency with some leaning towards aggression
while others opted for negotiations shows the level of unpreparedness to move forward with the
mission. The government knew that they had been compromised but instead of adopting less risky
options, they decided to move in with little or incorrect intelligence about the

How Did Australia Contribute To The Western Front
The Western Front was fought between 1914 and 1918 where the Australians contributed in many
different battles. After the outbreak of WW1 in 1914, the German Army opened the Western Front
by first invading Luxembourg and Belgium, then gaining military control of important industrial
regions in France. Australian forces contributed to 26 battles across Germany, Belgium and France,
however often ending in stalemate. Australians contributed through the enhancement of warfare
and tactics, conditions and cures and the commemoration of fallen soldiers. The Australians
contribution the battle of the Western Front is second to none and is highly recognised in the
current community. Source 1 is a secondary source and depicts the location and geographic... Show

It shows the harsh and terrible conditions, which the Australian troops, experienced, whilst in the
trenches. Great, sleek, corpse fed rats ran in squads between our legs depicts the dirty conditions of
which, the Australians experienced, where sixteen per cent died from typhoid, dysentery and
gastroenteritis. This was the major cause of death in Australian troops. In the winter the weather
would get down to below zero. There were reports of Australians toes falling off, after freezing and
contracting gangrene. This would occur when the trenches were filled with mud up to their ankles
in a trench two metres wide and 2 metres high. When the Australians arrived at the Western front,
the first thing they saw were the lines of wounded soldiers being taken to the rear. As they got
closer, they could feet the earth shake, and hear the constant crump of artillery shells. This was
known as trench foot and not uncommon in Australian soldiers. George states, It is one of the
things Kipling forgot to tell us differing much from what they had expected the war to be like. The
hard work and enduring sacrifices that they made in these harsh conditions evaluates the
contribution of Australian soldiers to the Western Front

Imperialism In The White Man s Burden By Rudyard Ripling
In the poem The White Man s Burden by Rudyard Kipling, Americans are asked to join other
imperialists, Europeans, in civilizing the rest of the world. The poet urges Americans to send in
their best bred sons to go into other countries to serve their captives. This rallying call comes out
when Kipling says, Send forth the best ye breed , Go bind your sons to exile , To serve your
captives need , which is a call for America s soldiers to go to war overseas. The poet argues that
the war will bring peace, and eradicate hunger and disease in the countries that the sons of
Americans will go to fight. Kipling brings out these benefits in the lines: The savage wars of peace
, Fill full the mouth of Famine and And bid the sickness cease; The United Statesimperialism can be
argued to have started in the 1890s, especially with the Philippine American war of 1898 to early
1900s. Most historians argue that this approach was a necessary evil... Show more content on

This argument is brought out when he says, Take up the White Man s burden, And reap his old
reward: It has to be noted here that European nations were hurriedly lining up to expand their
territories for more resources following the overstretching of the same at home. They, therefore,
planned to conquer new territories, especially in Africa, as well as Asia and the Caribbean
(Lancaster City School District, n.d). In the poem, Kipling urges America to join the bandwagon.
In the lines; Take up the White Man s burden , No tawdry rule of kings, Kipling suggests that the
white man s culture is superior to that of the weaker nations, a reason why the imperialist should
conquer and civilize the nations. The hate of those ye guard , The cry of hosts ye humour , (Ah,
slowly!) toward the light: , Why brought he us from bondage, and Our loved Egyptian night? are
the lines that tell of military competition in the

The Role Of Women During The Era Of Tang Dynasty Of Chos
Д№ВЋ N
The role of women has undergone numerous changes throughout the ages in South Korea, the most
palpable being those of 20th century due to industrialization. This essay aims to compare the role of
women nowadays with that of Confucian ChosЕЏn Dynasty and to explain how recent socio
economic changes influenced the development towards the current stratum of urban middle class
housewives. Also, it seeks to explain the stigma behind the development of this new layer of society.
Confucian Norms in ChosЕЏn Korea and Role of Women
The era of Yi dynasty of ChosЕЏn Korea (1392 1910) brought many changes to the social system.
In the aftermath of Hideyoshi invasions, Koreans found the traditional Confucian social norms

This shows an extreme example of a woman who does not consider herself virtuous anymore after
being touched by a man other than her husband.
Yangban or the ruling class seemed to be following the Confucian codes of conduct more closely
than other classes. Yangban families were usually landowners; therefore yangban women would
not usually be engaged in any work outside of home. However, new Neo Confucian ideology
demanded that women stay confined at home, abiding by the adage men outside, women inside .
Seclusion of female line to women s chambers, referred to as anpang, enunciated further deepening
of segregation of the genders. Anpang, or the inner rooms of the house, were well hid from the
sight from the street and public.
The yangban status was fundamentally family oriented and the main purpose of a wife in family
was that of reproduction and serving the patrilineal family line. According to Confucian philosophy,
three obediences were required from a virtuous woman: to her father as a daughter, to her husband
during marriage and to her son once she reached old age. After marriage, women had to move to
their in laws houses and were not allowed activity outside home. Due to that, they fully engaged
into their role of wives and mothers. In order to fulfill this role, they had to be skilled in household
management, conducting ancestral rites and others. These were contained in several educational

aircraft icing Essay
Introduction
Plane crashes occur for a number of reasons. There seems to be a consensus with the general public
that flying is dangerous, engines fail and planes crash. That is true some times, although the
majority of plane crashes occur largely due to a combination of human error and mechanical failure.
In much of aviations accidents mechanical failure has been a contributing factor. It is impossible
however to blame plane crashes on one reason since events leading up to an accident are so varied.
Reasoning for plane crashes can be placed in a broad number of categories.
Environmental conditions play a vital part in aviation as a whole. Much planning goes into a flight

This accident could have been avoided if proper procedure was followed in deicing.
The NTSB investigation concluded that the combination of the crew s use of thrust reverse on
the ground for push back, and their failure to active the engine anti ice system caused the crash.
By failing to activate the engine anti ice system, large amounts of snow and ice that were
sucked into the engines during reverse thrust were allowed to remain there. Ice built up on the
compressor inlet pressure probe, which measures engine power. As a result instrument
indications in the cockpit showed an Engine Pressure Ratio of 2.04, while the power plants were
in reality only producing 1.70 EPR, or about 70% of available power. The combination of the ice
covered wings and low power caused an immediate stall on takeoff killing 74 people. (Kilroy, 9).
In Americans Eagle Flight 4184 October 31, 1994, heavy air traffic and poor weather postponed
the arrival of this flight at Chicago s O Hare International Airport, where it was to have landed en
route from Indianapolis, Indiana.
The ATR 72, a twin engine turboprop carrying 68 people, entered a holding pattern 65 miles
southeast of O Hare, which it maintained for over an hour in freezing rain. As the plane circled, a
ridge of ice formed on the upper surface of its wings, eventually causing the aircraft s autopilot to
suddenly disconnect and the pilots to lose control. The ATR disintegrated on impact with a field
below, killing everyone aboard.

Coherentism and Foundationalism
Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up
with a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers
readers explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These
two different theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a
foundationalist, they believe that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic
belief. This belief would be largely independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs.
A coherentist feels that a belief can be reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The
foundationalist theory of justification boils everything... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with
this belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the
coffee is freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in
my mug, the coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can
feel the warmth from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist
would like, but they all cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the
coffee in my mug is hot. It is my opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and
more specifically, this example. While I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are
justified simply because they just are, I am not convinced that all the beliefs we have in this
world can be broken down quite in this way. I do however, feel that many of our beliefs are
based in a web of other believes that all support each other. I know that my coffee is hot for
many reasons, one being that I can feel it. I don t think that I necessarily need to break it down
into experiences when I have many other clues that could more easily justify my belief. There
are so many clues and beliefs around me to justify my belief that it s not necessary to try and
deduce anything. There are way too many complicated beliefs in the world that I do not feel they
can all be traced back to basic

Examples Of True Love In A Midsummer Night s Dream
True love. True love is something that the characters in A Midsummer Night s Dream are fighting
to keep. In the book A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare, there are several
lovers trying to make it through obstacles together and stay together forever. In fact, Hermia, who
loves Lysander, is even going against her father s demand. Her father, Egues would like her to
marry Demetrius, but she wants to marry Lysander. In addition to that conflict, another conflict
arises. Helena, who loves Demetrius, chases Demetrius through the forest to try to gain his interest
in her. Demetrius will not fall for Helena until a spell is cast on him. That is when he begins to love
her. They then eventually get married. This clearly demonstrates how love is like a journey; It
takes a lot of hard work to find and keep true love. Hermiahas to go against her father s wishes to

Later on, Demetrius goes to find Hermia. Helena decided he was going to chase Demetrius.
After they run for a while, Helena states, Oh, I am out of breath in this fond chase (Shakespeare
2.2.94). Helena goes and chases Demetrius all through the forest to try to capture his love,
although is not successful. Demetrius then starts to love Helena after Helena has been chasing
his heart for what seems like forever. Demetrius has only fallen in love with her because of a

Essay On Profession Of Arms
Human resource Sergeants responsibility for profession of arms is one of the most important
values we have. To better understand the importance of the profession of arms; I will explain the
meaning of profession of arms. The profession includes key factors which are expertise, trust,
development, values, and service. Each factor is what makes profession of arms attainable. One
way to excel at the profession of arms is to do what is best for the United States. We serve the
people of the United States and we are implementing services that we are trained and ready to
provide them. Some of which include protecting the United States and its allies from terrorists to
national disasters. We are there for them and we will support their decisions. The trust factor; not
only must we look out for the interest of the United States but earn their trust as well. Trust is not
easily given and we have to put in the effort to demonstrate that we are there for them.
Development factor involves training and education. Professionals are knowledgeable in their
career and focus on efficiency. We encourage our soldiers to advance in their MOS by going to
BLC, ALC and SLC. Army is also immense on civilian educations and receiving a college degree.

Pop Art History
Pop Art looks out into the world. It doesn t look like a painting of something, it looks like the
thing itself. , Roy Lichtenstein. This quote genuinely shows the essence of Pop Art and how Pop
Art became a whole different breed of art. Pop Art came like a thunderstorm taking over the
globe in the late 50 s and the early 60 s and has continued to be a staple in the world of art. Pop Art
has played a massive part in art history and in history in general. The aim for this paper is to
inform audiences about Pop Art by exploring how Pop Art was formed, why it was even started,
and to tell you about some artists who truly shaped Pop Art. Roy Lichtenstein once said, Art
doesn t transform. It just plain forms (Wolf). In 1952 a hand full of artists who called themselves
the independent group met up in London, England. Some members of the group included Edourdo
Paolozzi, Richard Hamilton, Alison and Peter Smithson, Lawrence Alloway, and Reyner Banham.
They began to meet up on a regular basis to discuss topics including mass culture s grip on the fine
arts, the found object, and science and technology. Since the British were still trying to recover
from the trying times of WWII they ended up resorting to fantasies of America and the lavish
American culture. Soon the independent group was looking into the idea of a commercial

Summary Of The Adventures Of Huck Finn
In The Adventures of Huck Finn, written by Samuel Clemens, Huck Finn learns several
important lessons throughout his adventure. He learns that not everything is right, even if
others believe it is. A very big lesson that Huck learns is that in order to help someone else he
might have to give up something he wants. He also learns that taking from innocent people is
wrong. Huck learns that no matter what, friends will always be there for you. Each one of Huck
s adventures comes with a lesson that helps him mature and grow into the boy he is at the
conclusion of the story. Huck s first adventure is deciding to help Jim escape to the North to
become a free man. Jim and Huck overcome numerous obstacles on their journey to freedom.
While on the raft, floating down the river, Jim and Huck have multiple serious conversations.
One of these conversations is about slavery. Huck is defending white people by saying that
blacks have always been slaves and that is just how it is going to be. Jim then explains, Just
because you re taught that something s right and everyone believes it s right, it don t make it
right. This teaches Huck that he does not always have to follow the expectations of society if he
does not believe they are right. The Grangerfords play an immense part in Huck s next adventure.
Huck and Jim are separated when they have to abandon the raft. While finding his way to shore,
Huck comes upon the Grangerfords land. They are all prepared to shoot a

North American Free Trade ( Nafta ) And The International...
Ever since organizations and agreements like the North American Free Trade (NAFTA) and the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) were created around the end of World War 2 to supposedly help
the Third World nations to establish better economies and governments, they have only done more
harm than good for these nations. These third worldcountries end up becoming exploited and
extorted, forced to become dependent on the big international organizations like the IMF because of
the exorbitant interest rates charged on them, thus they remain forever in debt. The accumulation of
debt then allows the IMF to have more voice over how the indebted countries should be shaped and
how they should run their economy. What ends up happening then is that their... Show more content

Because of such policies, many women end up struggling at home and eventually, in desperation,
they end up leaving home to find work elsewhere. First, let us examine how economic policies like
the structural adjustment policies implemented by the IMF affect a country. A great example of
this is detailed in Ault and Sandberg s Our Policies, Their Consequences , where both authors
explore how seriously the structural adjustment policies changed the economic state in Zambia. As
these authors point out, the terms of the loans reflect the economic and political interests and
values of the world s wealthiest nations (470) . It is seen here already that that does not bode well
for Zambia. One clearly can see that globalization is just another way first world nations still
colonize the world, but instead through means of economic and trade conquests. Now, the article
continues on to talk about the kind of changes that the IMF implemented on Zambia: they wanted
them to devalue their currency and stop supporting many domestic programs, social welfare
programs, and fire federal employees and instead they wanted them to focus on increasing their
exports for the global market. And what are changes without its consequences? Because the IMF
favored the growth of international markets, the local economy in Zambia suffered greatly.

Hostility Towards Transgender Students
One of the most complex and diverse populations of people are those categorized as transgender.
These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal
harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from
a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to
understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is
essential to fully understand the term transgender.
The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to
help the public understand the Transgender population in America. The APA defines the term
transgender as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or
behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex which they assigned at birth
(p. 1) They go on to explain the differences between gender identity and gender expression.
Gender identity is the person s internal sense of being male, female, or something else (p. 1).
Gender Expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through their
behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice, and/or body characteristics (p. 1). The term transsexual is
defined as people whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex (p. 1). Many of these
transsexual individuals will choose to alter their physical biology through hormone replacement

Reaction Paper On Birth Control
In between the years of 1914 up until 1921 of the birth control pill was starting to be developed.
Activist Margaret Sanger opens the first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and starts
the American Birth Control League, the precursor to Planned Parenthood. A few years later, in
1934, an Endocrinologist Gregory Pincus uses a test tube and a rabbit to help develop a
contraceptive device. About seventeen years later, specifically in 1951, Sanger meets Pincus at a
party in New York, and this is where Sanger persuades Pincus to help out with work on a birth
controlpill. Meanwhile, in that same year another chemist from Mexico city, named Carl
Djerassi, creates a similar pill. He does this by synthesizing hormones from Mexican yams. Even
though pill has been invented, Djerassi isn t equipped to test, to produce, or to even distribute it.
This in turn means that Sanger and Djerassi are competing in a way. About a year later, in 1952
Gregory Pincus tests progesterone in rats. From this experiment Pincus figures out that it actually
works. Afterwards, he meets gynecologist named John Rock. Rock already began testing a
chemical contraception for women. The next year, Katherine McCormick who is a biologist, a
women s rights activist, writes Pincus a check for $40,000 to conduct research into furthering
research about the pill. From this large amount of money, Rock and Pincus are able to conduct the
one of the first human trials. The trials is based off of fifty women that

The Evolution of Modern Humans
While time travel still remains elusive to us, scientists have been able to discover things about
our past as a species that were practically inconceivable over 150 years ago when Charles Darwin
released his book entitled The Origin of Species. They have especially uncovered many pieces
to our still incomplete puzzle over the past 20 years so that we now have a nearly complete idea
of how our species Homo sapiens came to be. This story of our history includes dozens of species

The lower part, where it meets the ankle, is fairly wide and thick so it acted as a shock absorber
whilst walking. Members of the Australopithecus anamensis species also had long forearms and
wrist bone features which suggest tree climbing. They were thickly built with long narrow jaws.
Their side rows of teeth were in parallel lines and were heavily enameled which entails that they
ate hard, abrasive foods such as nuts, but researchers also believe that they also ate fruits. These
hominids were possibly the size of modern female chimpanzees and there is evidence of sexual
dimorphism. (Leakey et al, 1995; White et al, 2006) Discovered in 1974, Australopithecus
afarensis is one of the most famous early hominids and they are the direct descendants of
Australopithecus anamensis. Australopithecus afarensis as a species was not named until 1978,
after many fossil discoveries of the same type were found at sites in Hadar, Ethiopia and Laetoli,
Tanzania. Some of the fossils categorized as a part of this species were found as early as in the
1930 s. They were around for more than 900,000 years which makes them the longest lived
species and there are over 300 sets of remains of Australopithecus afarensis. One of the most
famous hominid skeletons is 3.2 million year old Lucy (AL 288 1), discovered by Donald

Norway Treats Its Citizens Better Than The U.s. America
Paper Title
Thesis: Norway treats its citizens better than the U.S.
America, a compilation of 50 states expanding about 2,680 miles from East to West. Moving far
to the East we can meet the big apple, the American dream, New York. Its gray stone buildings
towering high above all underfoot, its inner streets lined with large screens as colorful images
belonging to several different adds dash across them, some bright neon swirls wriggling across
the screen as an invitation to try these new brightly colored hard candies, others of lanky, fair
skinned women dressed in the newest fashions while striking a pose. Moving to the coast, in New

If the communities of our people were so strong why would there be mass shootings and hate
crimes? If the government truly cared then why are so many people going without proper
healthcare or without homes or jobs? If America is truly great and free, then why are so many
people within it, so very unhappy?
Traveling across the sea, far to the North east, one could be introduced to the vast snow tipped
mountains and pristine blue lakes of Norway. A country famous for its beautiful forests, mountain
ski slopes, fjords, its friendly and accepting people, and beer. Here, in this, close to nature
mountainous country we find a peaceful alternative to America s bustling politics and war time
issues. Despite their chilly and snow encrusted habitat, the people of Norway are amongst the
friendliest, warmest people on Earth. Not only that but, their happy, truly happy, with their homes,
their jobs, their communities, and their government. So the question is, why? Why is a country
ruled under a matriarch, compared to America s superior democracy, flourishing so vividly while
the citizens of America are groaning and moaning about all the different inconveniences that their
government has provided? There are many factors that could contribute to this, such as the suck it

Self Assessment And Education Planning
Self assessment and Education Planning Through experience, I ve learned to pursue some
employment opportunities over others. I m not sure why, but some choices can be attributed to
my parents, peers, social status and the environment. These influences can also be credited to
activities that I participated in while growing up. For example, I enjoyed helping my mother
care for my younger sibling; this is probably why my strongest interest on the RIASEC spectrum
falls within the area of Education and training. Acquiring a Bachelor s degree, or Master s
degree is required to work in any of the fields assessed on the spectrum, along with the
determination and skills to fulfill the necessary requirements. Results in the interest profiler

Explain The First Cause Argument
The first cause argument is based on cause and effect, it attests that the universe must have a cause,
and that this cause is God. The first cause argument is also known as the cosmological argument.
The universe could not have come into being without something that started it. Therefore, this
argument does show that God exists. This essay will analyse the first cause argument, provide proof
of why God is shown that he exists by the first cause argument and, explore the objections and
counter objections that people have when it comes to this argument.
The first cause argument shows the existence of God through the statement that the universe must
have a cause and as result, it is impossible for there to be an infinite cycle of causes so therefore,
God exists because he is the first cause. The strength of this argument is that it indicates the need
for something in order for there to be a beginning, but why conclude that this Something is God? I
conclude that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have the gift of existence, and our existence was attained from our causes. If things and
people came into existence using their own nature without it being passed down to them through
other people there would be no need for a first cause but, people do not exist from their own
nature which means that they have a cause which goes to show that there is Indeed a first cause
and that this cause must be God. The universe only has beings that do not exist on their own
essence, that are not eternal or necessary, all beings in the universe need a cause. Beings that are
not self explanatory, eternal or necessary are called dependent or contingent. Furthermore, a being
who is self explanatory is called a necessary being. Dependent beings need causes. If the
independent being does not exist, then all the other dependent beings that rely on it will not exist.
Dependent beings do exist and therefore an independent being God, does

John Swift s A Modest Proposal
In Jonathan Swift s satirical work, A Modest Proposal, the reader is presented with a horrible
concept using extremely effective language and logos; Swift uses strong speech, rational tone, and
complex grammar to convince readers that eating children will solve all the problems in 19th
century Ireland. Swift s overall goals in his pamphlet, however, is not to actually encourage eating
babies, which is why it is of satire, but is instead to raise awareness of Ireland s conditions for
living, failing political figures, and the tyranny brought by England. Swift states in his sub title, For
Preventing the Children of poor People in Ireland, from being a Burden to their Parents or Country;
and for making them beneficial to the Public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea is so intense that it demonstrates the overall irony of the piece. It is also worth pointing
out that this line comes late in the essay. Swift lulls the reader into a false sense of trust by
beginning with descriptions of the position of the poor in Ireland. The reader may think at first
that this is a serious essay, making the point all the more loud when it eventually appears. The
idea itself comes from a very knowing American, which is a small attack on the Americas and
American colonies. Rhetorically, the first couple of quotes stated are the strongest in bringing
attention to Ireland s issues. It s comical in the fact that he uses such a horrible idea to raise the
red flags in the minds of the Irish people. In an earlier paragraph Swift writes, It is a melancholy
object to those who walk through this great town, or travel in the country, when they see the
streets, the roads, and cabin doors crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three,
four, or six children, all in rags, ad importuning every passenger for an alms (Swift par.1). This
quote should be understood as a highlight to the poor living conditions of Ireland. The quote is
interesting because Swift does two things in it; he continues building his satire, which is the world
the reader will be thinking about, while nonchalantly hinting the underlining theme of poor

Intolerance During The Nazi Regime
Intolerance
The definition of intolerance is the unwillingness to accept views, beliefs, or behavior that differ
from one s own . There have been many times in history when people have been unwilling to
accept things that are different than what they belief. There has been the Nazi regime, whites
segregating blacks, people who disagree with people who are homesexual, and Donald Trump.
One example of intolerance is during the Nazi regime. When Hitler came to power in 1933, he
tried to imprison and kill all Jews and nobody for the most part tried to stop him. Hitler didn t stop
there though, he still thought that everyone who didn t have blonde hair and blue eyes were not
good enough, because they were not what he thought to be the perfect race. There was the
holocaust. There were about 42, 500 facilities in Germany that were used for slave labor, mass
murder, and other human right abuses. It is to be predicted that about 200,000 Jews died during
the Holocaust. Jews were hunted down and were forced to go into hiding. If they were caught, they
would be sent to concentration camps where many died. Six million Jews died, including 1.5
million children during the Nazi regime. Five million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Emotions of Captivity in Psalm 137 Essay
The book of Psalms contains some of the most beloved pieces of scripture across centuries and
cultures of this world. Psalms have been frequently cited is sermons, devotionals, movies, poetry,
and songs. Most often, Psalms are attributed to King David of the 10th century BCE. But regardless
of the authorship of the different psalms, each seem to carry a special place in describing human
relationships to God, to country, to friends, to enemies and more. As time has progressed, certain
psalms have become favorites because of their encouraging and uplifting messages, such as the
timeless Psalm 23. However, other psalms are neglected in Christian circles because of the
difficulty they present in interpretation. Often, these psalms are... Show more content on

For there our captors demanded of us songs, And our tormentors mirth, saying, Sing us one of
the songs of Zion. How can we sing the Lord s song in a foreign land? If I forget you, O
Jerusalem, May my right hand forget her skill. May my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth.
If I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem, above my chief joy. Remember, O Lord,
against the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, who said, Raze it, raze it, to its very foundation.
O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, how blessed will be the one who repays you with
the recompense with which you have repaid us. How blessed will be the one who seizes and
dashes your little ones against the rock. (Ps 137, NASB) It is not often that theologians can
agree upon the date of authorship of a text, but Psalm 137 is an exception. It is widely accepted
that this psalm was written during or shortly after the exilic waves of the Southern Kingdom
during the Babylonian captivity of 597 BCE and 587 BCE , extending to 538 BCE . While no
specific author is identified as the author of Psalm 137, it certainly is not King David due to the
time elapse from King David s reign and the Babylonian Captivity. The anguish described in the
beginning of the Psalm paired with the vengeful remarks at the end of the Psalm, in addition to the
reference to Babylon while the writer s heart longs for Zion undoubtedly make this Psalm a
description of the exile written during or shortly

The Idea Behind The United Nations
The Idea Behind The United Nations Is To Be Democratic In Solving World Political, Economic
and Social Issues, But Is It Successful In This Effect?
Stephen Goodspeed describes the organizational framework of the United Nations as
an association of states that through a multipartite treaty, the Charter, have elected to follow a
certain course of action in given circumstances in order to accomplish specific aims and
purposes. It has the legal capacity whereby, it is able to act as a subject of international law. That
means it has the elements to hold and dispose of property, decide on what contracts are to be made
and also determine the legal issues of the states. The primary objective of the United Nations as
stipulated in their article one and two is to preserve peace and security internationally. So peace is
to be maintained by collective security in which all members co operate in taking effective
collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression
of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace...
The United Nations uses, democratic governance in order to defend and protect all the nations
that face political, economic and social instability in the world. It is not certain how democracy is
effectively being applied to solve world issues, and if democracy is actually an appropriate system
of governance since the creation of this organization. The world does seem to be a better place with

The Crime Rate in Canada
Background Crime in Canada
The Canadian Constitution gives the power to establish, investigate, and adjudicate crimes with the
federal government. The individual provinces are responsible for law enforcement, although in
many cases this is contracted to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is a federal agency.
The power to prosecute crimes belongs to the federal government, but responsibility for these
prosecutions is delegated to the provinces for most types of crime. However, to make the issue more
streamlined, laws and sentencing guidelines are fairly uniform throughout the country, but there are
varying levels of enforcement based on individual provinces (Boyd, 2011). The crime rate in Canada
has been in a general decline since 1991 and recent statistics show that of those crimes reported,
48% were property related and 12.6% were violent crime. Ironically, the three most northern
territories with the least population have higher per capita crime rates that any province. Statistics
from the Canadian Centre of Justice, crime was, in fact, the lowest since 1972. This general trend
is positive, but there remains an increase in certain crimes since 2010 including homicide (7%
increase), criminal harassment (1% increase), sexual crimes against children (3% increase), child
pornography (40% increase), and impaired driving (2% increase) (Canada s Crime Rate, 2012).
Experts in the government believe that the overall tough on crime measures are working noting that

Argumentative Essay On Athens And Pericles
Athens was a major civilization located in ancient Greece. Athens was located on the ocean, which
led to it becoming a prominent trading center. The state was extremely wealthy with an
extraordinary, capable naval force. Women had no rights at all in Athens, so every one of the
choices were made by the men. The men of Athens had numerous obligations that they were
required to perform for society to run legitimately. Above all, they needed to take in every one of
the qualities by which their society taught them. Pericles believed that democracyexemplified a

He additionally glorified his people for the use of thought and deliberation on issues of
significance. Our public men have, besides politics, their private affairs to attend to, and our
ordinary citizens, though occupied . . . are still fair judges of public matters . . . instead of looking
on discussion as a stumbling block in the way of action, we think it an indispensable preliminary to
any wise action at all.
Xenophon, an ancient Greek writer, completely opposed the beliefs of Pericles. He explained the
various issues that arose in a democratic society. Xenophon resisted the idea that any person, no
matter his credibility, was given the same amount of power in the government system. Then there is
a point which some find extraordinary, that they everywhere assign more to the worst persons, to
the poor, and to the popular types than to the good men: in this very point they will be found
manifestly preserving their democracy. In this quotation, Xenophon refers to the fact

How to Calculate Beta
How to Calculate Beta Beta refers to the volatility of a particular stock compared against the
volatility of the entire stock market or, in practice, a representative index of that market, such as
the Standard and Poor s (S amp;P) 500. Beta is an indicator of how risky a particular stock is and
is used to evaluate its expected rate of return. Beta is one of the fundamentals stock analysts
consider when choosing stocks for their portfolios, along with price to earnings ratio, shareholder
s equity, debt to equity ratio and other factors. Here s how to calculate beta and use beta to figure
an expected rate of return. Steps Calculating Beta for a Stock 1. 1... Show more content on

If the stock s rate of return is 7 percent and the risk free rate is 2 percent, the difference would be
5 percent. 4. 4 Subtract the risk free rate from the market (or index) rate of return. If the market
or index rate of return is 8 percent and the risk free rate is again 2 percent, the difference would
be 6 percent. 5. 5 Divide the difference in the stock s return rate minus the risk free rate by the
market (or index) rate of return minus the risk free rate. This is the beta, which is typically
expressed as a decimal value. In the example above, the beta would be 5 divided by 6, or 0.833.
* The beta of the market itself, or its representative index, is by definition 1.0, as the market is
being compared against itself and any nonzero number divided by itself equals 1. A beta less
than 1 means that the stock is less volatile than the market as a whole, while a beta greater than 1
means the stock is more volatile than the market as a whole. The beta value can be less than zero,
meaning either that the stock is losing money while the market as a whole is gaining (more likely)
or that the stock is gaining while the market as a whole is losing money (less likely). * When
figuring beta, it is common, though not required, to

Jeremy Bentham s Argument Against Capital Punishment
America is within the top four countries for the number of executions due to the death penalty
since 1999. Citing the, Amnesty International in For What Tomorrow (2004), more than 1,800
people were executed in 31 countries, the vast majority of these in China (1076), Iran (165), Saudi
Arabia (103), and then the United States (98) (NAAS, 43). The death penalty is currently an
intense debate involving the idea of whether or not we as people should be able to sentence another
person to death. According to the ethical and moral reasoning of the philosophers Jeremy Bentham,
Peter Singer, and Hugo Bedau, the death penalty should not be a legal punishment.

Following these rules maintains the balance between the severity of the punishment and the
maximum positive effects the punishment has. However, it would be extremely difficult to apply
these rules to today, because of the many different crimes and circumstances.
Bentham was very against the death penalty and his proposed alternative to the popular punishment
at the time was life in prison with hard labor and even occasionally solitary confinement. When
given the choice between the death penalty and the life imprisonment of which Bentham spoke, he
believed that as a Utilitarian he must choose the life imprisonment. Bentham believed that the threat
of living in prison for life was greater than the thought of death. This is it was a long, drawn out,
torturous process. This would compare to the quick death they would receive if they got the death
penalty.
There are five major points that he makes against the death penalty using his utilitarian theory. The
first point he makes is that the death penalty is not profitable. By this Bentham means a dead
person can do nothing to repair the damage done by their crimes, whether this repair means helping
the victim or helping the society in which the crime was committed. A point included within
modern times would be a reference to the cost of the death penalty vs. life imprisonment. Today, it
would actually be much cheaper to

The Battle Of Gettysburg As My Topic
For the Historical Newspaper Analysis paper, I selected the Battle of Gettysburg as my topic to
research. The reason I appointed this event as my subject matter was on the fact that I reside close
to Gettysburg, and have heard of some of the events that developed there during the Civil War.
Even though I live close to Gettysburg, I haven t seen the reenactments that occur there or been on
the tours Gettysburg offers. Since I would like to take part in a tour along with seeing the
reenactments, I figured it would be helpful to gain a broader understanding of the events that
transpired there before I visit Gettysburg to engage in the festivities. Accordingly, this is why I
elected the Battle of Gettysburgas my topic. The tones of the articles that I reviewed for the Battle
of Gettysburg were mostly positive and informative. After examining many Baltimore Sun
Newspaperarticles, I noticed that the articles stayed considerable positive by transforming negative
situations into positive ones. For example, an article titled The Battle of Gettysburg declared that
General Reynolds, it seems more and more clear, fought rashly on Wednesday, and very probably
against the wishes of the commander of the army; yet this battle, which lost us many men, gave us
full information of the whereabouts of the enemy s main body, and committed the enemy to the

At a time when the mormons arrived in the valley of Great Salt Lake and expanded settlements,
the Hole In The Rock expedition took place. The Explorers explored several places along the

Nutrition for Sport
Introduction
An athlete needs to ensure that they consume enough fuel to complete activities undertaken. The
amount of energy required depends on many factors including size and weight of the athlete, level
and intensity of the training, and due to this the amount of energy required varies from person to
person. However if more energy is consumed than required, the excess is stored as fat and weight
will increase, on the other hand if insufficient energy is consumed the body calls upon its stores to
meet the demand and weight will be lost.
To consume a balanced diet we need to consume items from the macro and micro nutrient groups.
Macronutrients comprise of carbohydrates, lipids and protein. Carbohydrates are quickly accessible

Female Tennis Player
The athletes calorie requirements need to be worked out what is required every day before any
training is added in. To do this the same calculation was made as the female runner, except
instead of 8.7 x kg it is 14.7 x kg and 496 is added instead of 829, this is because this athlete is in
a different age group. Again activity requirement is taken into consideration, at 450 calories an
hour, and as exact training figures are not available it has been estimated at 6 hours training a
week, which then works out as an extra 2700 calories a week. This figure is then divided by 7 to
give the extra calories needed each day. So this athlete needs a total of 3384 calories a day to
maintain her current stature. Again the daily allowance needs to be divided between the
macronutrients. According to National Institute of Nutrition (2007) this athlete needs
CHO:Lipids:Protein at 60:25:15. Once again the calories are converted into grams. See Appendix 1.
Using this information there was a deficit across the board, see Appendix 2.
When analysing her food diary it has been noted that very little water had been consumed, she
only had 3 litres over the 3 days but she did consume a bottle of lucozade on 2 of the 3 days.
However she did have a bottle of wine, which took up a massive 9% of her 3 days allowance.
Alcohol is not good for you as it dehydrates the body, which in turn makes it harder to train the
following day. Very little fresh

Mies Van Der Rohe Concept Of Architecture
What is life? Exploring Mies van der Rohe s concept of architecture as a life process From his
popular motto less is more to his concept of architecture as the spatially apprehended will of the
epoch , the aphorisms of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886 1969) remain one of his most
memorable legacies. Despite being less well known, other such statements promoted by Mies are
also important to clarify the philosophy that sustained his works. This paper investigates one of
these less known yet highly revealing statements: Building art is only understandable as a life
process . Considering the broader context of Mies s discourse, philosophical readings, and
architectural projects, this paper argues that Mies used the term life process to refer to a larger
changing reality that united the material and the spiritual realms of life. According to Mies, the
recognition of this material spiritual unity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mies continued to promote both this project and this concept of architecture later on, such as in
the seminal monograph that accompanied his solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in
New York in 1947. He also reaffirmed this concept during a talk at the Architectural League of
New York around 1960. Towards the end of this talk, Mies received the following comment: I m
not sure what we ve been talking about all evening ... I d like to know what your definition of

Choosing A Baby Is A Big Decision For Most People
Deciding to have a baby is a big decision for most people. This decision does not stop at whether
or not to have a baby, but continues on with the decision of where, how, and with whom to have
their baby. There are many options to consider when making this decision. Unfortunately, many
people are unaware that the traditional method of going to an OB/GYN is not their only option.
No matter what insurance provider a person has, there is always the option of going to a CNM for
pre and post natal care.
Research
According to statistics, 85% of women will require maternity care at least once in their lifetime

One third of U.S. births are C sections (ACNM, 2013). Most states, thirty three out of fifty, require

Births attended by Birth Connections take place in hospital in the Labor and Delivery suites at Self
Regional Healthcare. Birth Connections operates in accordance with the American College of
Nurse midwives, the ACNM, and supports their goal of providing women with a safe, positive
childbirth experience. They advocate a low technology approach to labor that includes intermittent
auscultation of fetal heart sounds instead of continuous monitoring, non pharmacological methods

Negative Effects Of Celebrity Life
Imagine living the life where every step and move you take are controlled by the world. Some
people lead their lives where they are watched around the entire world, which means that, all actions
that these individuals took are judged by society and communities. People around the world are
expecting excellent result and perfect decision from these people. Well, this is how celebrities lives
are and their expectation. They do all they can to stay on top and to make differences in their
everyday lives. Most of the time the world has the mindset that being a celebrityis all about
happiness and wealth. However, there may come time of rejoicing as well as sadness.Celebrity
life has negatives effects in people s lives in numerous ways and those who choose to become
celebrities they should be aware of these effects before they choose this fuel.
Additionally, celebrities do not have private life. Every step and action they take are watched.
Apparently, when one is a celebrity his or her life is not theirs any more. One may go through
difficulties situations in life, no matter how hard the person can pretend to not share his or her

Operant Conditioning
You are asked by a roommate to help him devise a weight loss program to increase his chance of
making the football team. What would be a good way to create a one month behavior modification
program based on the principles of operant conditioning which will get him started towards his
goal. Explaine how you will measure your roommates progress and what schedules of
reinforcement will be included in your program.
Operant conditioning is one s attempt to modify behaviors which are generally voluntary in nature
and can be maintained by consequences/responses as opposed to classic conditioning that can deal
with the conditioning of the automatic/reflexive behavior which are not maintained by
consequences. Operate conditioning can be a method of learning that can occur through rewards
and also punishments for behavior in other words it is a type of learning in which an individual s
behavior may change in form, frequency, or strength. Conditioning one may attempt to reach their
goal and keep the process going even after the goal has been met. We see that with positive
reinforcement an outcome can be strengthened by getting a praise or direct reward. By measuring

way to measuring progress. It helps to make sure that goals are being met and shows what changes

Racial Gap And Social Mobility
Talking of race or rather ethnicity in line with its effects in today s attainment of life chances and
opportunities by individuals for social mobility, we are prompted to conceptualize on matters
appertaining to civil rights of individuals in various fields ranging from job allocations, medical
attention, education, and distribution of resources. Social mobilityrefers to a tier in an open system
of social strata that involves movement of various categories of people in a societal set up and
majorly highlights issues to do with these people s status characteristics. The most pernicious
racial divide in the current world is in social mobility. This is in reference to the gap that coexists
between a child born white, and a child born black. Racial gaps today are rampant in various
sectors and thus pose a reflection of disproportionate representation of black families at the
lower scale of income appendage (de Souza Briggs, 37 42). The chances of moving up or down
the family income ladder by race and parent s quintile is unequal based on the skewed income
distribution by race. A society can be in a position of high absolute mobility and also low relative
mobility. The availability of at least some social mobility is key in providing conduits to greater
equality in societies with high social inequality.
Social mobility however can typically be hypothesized in terms of its direction and distance based
on the quantity of the movement. There is complexity in trying to analyze the

Levitt s Freakonomics
Freakonomics is a humorous and intriguing book about taking off the top layer of a situation and
understanding what is happening underneath. Through everyday examples Steven D. Levitt and
Stephen J. Dubner take perspectives that are unheard of in any other writing while simultaneously
comparing the most unique and uncommon ideas to each other. As they study everyday life,
readers see insight to the ways in which the world really functions and runs. As they study the world
the authors continue to ask questions, thus continuing to challenge the reader to seek for a deeper
answer. Through these highly untypical questions, Levitt and Dubner are able to display that the
root of economics itself is incentives. The book begins by asking the questions what do
schoolteachers and sumo wrestlers have in common? (15). The average person would most likely
respond with nothing, but Levitt and Dubner show the reader there is more in common with each
than you would think. Each party can be held accountable for cheating. Teachers are often seen
cheating in some form on a standardized teststo help improve their students scores. Through giving
the students answers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The authors continue to question the qualities of people through examples such as the bagel
company in a hopes of determining if people are really good. Levitt and Dubner continue their
questioning with examples like relators and the KKK. They are able to compare the secret codes
of the Klan to the words that real estate agents use when trying to sell a house. Later on, Levitt
and Dubner bring up the question of what makes a perfect parent? . They stress the idea that
parents are so afraid of making a mistake that they become terrible risk assessors and end up
putting their child in more danger. Again, Levitt and Dubner are focusing on an uncommon
perspective to bring insight to the reader of how the world really

Nature And Theories In Management Accounting
CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1 Introduction
This chapter begins by looking at the literature that will give considerable information about
Management Accounting and the practices of Small and medium Enterprises, bringing out the
interdependence and interrelation of one to the other.
2.2 Overview of Management Accounting
Management accounting was first known as cost accounting. This origin was reflected in the earlier
title for practitioners of cost or works accountants (Wilson and Chua, 1988). Accounting historians
have long endorsed the view that cost accounting is a product of the industrial revolution (Johnson,
1981). For example (Wilson and Chua, 1993) claimed that cost accounting was practiced by the
mechanized, multi process, cotton textile factories that appeared in England and United States
around 1800. This point of view was consistent with Garner (1947) who pointed out that cost
accounting had emerged only after eighteenth century as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This change has resulted to a range of modern management accounting. This is evident through the
adoption of innovative modern management accounting techniques like Cash Flow analysis,
Activity based costing, cost volume profit Analysis, Balanced Scorecard, Standard costing among
others. This new techniques seem to be gradually adopted by Ghanaian SMEs.
Management accountant is less likely to take decision but rather provides data which is aids
management in decision making. Management accountant deals with future outcome. It helps in
planning the future because decisions are always taken for the future course of action. Many
theories have been developed to management accounting, among them which this study seeks to
address is the contingency

The Cost Of Social Norms
To summarize the articles; What isn t for sale? by Michael J. Sandel, and The Cost of Social
Norms by Dan Ariely, in the articles both authors discuss the relationship between markets and
society, and how they are intertwined even though they shouldn t which is partially caused by
market values entering society and affecting the regular norms of society causing money to be the
first thing on everybody s mind. The article What isn t for sale? By Michael J. Sandel talks about
how society is broken because markets have reached into places they don t necessarily belong and
influencing people s values by supplanting nonmarket norms with marketvalues. They do so by
placing prices on things that normally aren t considered to be goods or services and couldn t
even be marketed, some examples given in the article are how people can pay an annual fee
ranging from $1,500 to $25,000, to gain access to their doctors personal cell phone, and same day
appointments; another example is how people in Santa Anna, California, and other cities can
actually pay $90 per night in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article mentions how there used to be two worlds, one which was governed by market
norms and one which is warm and fuzzy, where people do each other favors for the good of it,
with no need to pay it back immediately or at all, a world where doing certain things provided
people with a level of satisfaction. In the world governed by market norms all exchanges are
sharp, where all transactions are for the sake of buying something with the only benefit being to
gain something monetary, but in today s society these worlds have collided and people are having
a hard time identifying what should be governed by market norms and what should be governed by

Medical Shows, Scrubs and Greys Anatomy Stand Above the Rest
There are two medical television series that stand above most others. These two shows put an
emphasis on their personal, rather than professional lives. Bill Lawrence s television series Scrubs
and Shonda Rhime s television series Greys Anatomy share the theme of competition, Greys
Anatomy is better because of Shonda Rhime s use of character, point of view, and conflict.
Scrubs main character is John Dorian or J.D played by Zach Braff. Greys Anatomy main character
is Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo. They both begin the series as staff interns who try to

Conflict is an opposing force that faces a main character. It is needed in every series so that the
characters can grow and change. The two main types of conflict are external and internal. What is
unique about both medical series is that they feature both types of conflict. They show the internal
conflicts and struggles among the characters and the external conflicts of nature and their
colleagues. J.D. is in a constant battle with his mentor Dr.Cox and the janitor. He has a bromance
with Chris Turk he best friend and an on and off romantic relationship with Elliot Reid. J.D.
fantasizes about what could happen; good or bad. His daydreams are often his personal thoughts
and feelings in the particular situations. This series is a high energy comedy. Meredith Grey has a
constant need to live up to her famous surgeon mother s reputation. Meredith questions her abilities
as a doctor because of her mother s lack of support. Despite her lack of confidence Meredith always
steps up to the challenges at work. She also suffers from many external conflicts that force her
character to make internal choices and changes. To make these changes she has help from the other
interns and her future husband Dr.Shepherd. Meredith s constant conflict with herself and others
creates drama which maintains viewer s attention and interest.

Opening Skinner s Box, by Lauren Slater. Slater describes a crime scene in which the witnesses
didn t do anything to help a woman that was being stabbed, she also tells us about a few
experiments that were conducted in regards to how people would react when help is needed in
certain situations, will they report the situation to anyone or just go about their business like
nothing is going on. Calling for help or assisting someone in a time of needisn t always something
that people do as an immediate reaction, especially when there s a crowd of people present. The
Effect of Embarrassmenton Helping Others, written by Robert J. Edelmann. Edelmann has his view,
he points out that depending on the situation people will help or possibly not help. Edelman refers
to whether people might view the situation as inappropriate, to which it would lead to an
embarrassment. It shouldn t matter the type of situation if someone needs help, help should be
offered and if accepted then assistance should be provided. The experiments conducted in The
Unlikely Event of a Water Landing, the situations or experiments are different that the one in The
Effect of Embarrassment on Helping. Edelmann seems to wantto prove that if there s a situation
where it might be embarrassing or the person that needs help may end up causing embarrassment
for the helper, then the help may not be available. A

The Role of Music in Forming and Transforming Identities
Write an essay of 2,500 words on the following topic: With reference to two contrasting musical
forms and cultural traditions, discuss the role of music in forming and transforming identities.
Introduction This essay will explore the role of music with regards to the formation and
transformation of identities within the emosubculture contrasting it to the dance music tradition.
The subculture of emo music engulfed many young adults of today s generation including myself
and those who were drawn to its spectrum and their affiliation to the music will allow for an in
depth analysis of points made by scholars which will allow me to contrast the emo subculture to
that of dance music. Dance music has become increasingly popular in the current popular music
scene and it offers a distinct contrast to emo music. Therefore, this provides a genuine contrast that
can be anaylsed and by exploring the contrasting features of these two music forms and their
cultural traditions, it will be possible to conclude the role of music in how it forms and transforms
identities today.
Before delving into the meaning of emo I will first explore the definitions of culture and in
particular, youth subculture, to which emo is linked with. A culture as Stuart Hall describes is a
way in which groups of people handle the raw material of their social and material existence and
also notes Marx in saying that culture is the practice of realising group life in meaningful shape
and form (Marx,

Case Study On Bus Dwell Time
Modelling Bus Dwell Time at Key Stop; A Case Study In Kuala Lumpur
Abstract. Bus service regularity and reliability can be directly affected by dwell time amount. Bus
dwell time directly affects vehicle travel time and fleet size required to provide service based on
scheduled headway. It is also an important input for planning and modelling of bus transit system.
Dwell time itself can be affected by various factors such as passenger activity, bus crowding, time
of the day, bus service type, fare collection method, driver experience, and time of day. This
research focused on estimating bus dwell time and the impact of boarding and alighting passengers,
holding strategy and operator relief on dwell time. The primary data source for evaluating this study

Location (AVL), Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC)

  • 2. Impact Of Donald Trump On The Us Economy Donald Trump V.S. United States Economy President Elect Donald Trump will enter office January 20, 2017. He has many great plans and ideas on how to improve the United States economy drastically. Many economists have argued on how Trump s plan will improve the United States, but can do some damage to the U.S. Currently, the United States is in twenty trillion dollars in debt. The main question is: Is Trump the right man for the job? Today, the focus would be on how Donald J. Trump s plan can revamp the United States economy and what effect will it do overall. Donald Trump s plan focal point is on cutting taxes and how that will result in many benefits towards the economy. The president elect has said he can get the economy to grow nearly ... Mr. Trump wants to understand and see where the American workers jobs are going. Furthermore, he wants to note why millions of Americans don t have jobs and who are taking them away. To do that he has to first renegotiate NAFTA or get rid of it (Fernandez 2).What is NAFTA and what mess it is creating? Basically, a trade agreement between the USA, Mexico and Canada formed by Bill Clinton, and it has let many Americans without jobs because most of them have gone to Mexico. That is the main reason Donald J. Trump hates this agreement and how it has destroyed the United States economy to bits and pieces. Additionally, what makes Trump fierce is that China has been stealing American trade secrets for many years. He clearly stated, If China does not stop its illegal activities, including its theft of American trade secrets, I will use every lawful presidential power to remedy trade disputes, including the application of tariffs consistent with Section 201 and 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 and Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Fernandez 3). Clearly, this shows that Trump is serious about his job and doesn t care if he is dealing with China. China has been stealing all our trade secrets and Barack Obama didn t do anything about it. In brief, this clearly shows that our future President has the characteristics and personality of a true leader that is ready for this great battle. Our economy has gone down hill since Barack Obama stepped into office in the year of 2008. Our newly elected president, Donald J. Trump, has shown through his economic plan that he will bring back jobs and cut taxes drastically for everyone. In all, these major changes towards our economy will make America great ... A Research Report On Rural Surveillance Rural surveillance, although can be done in almost any settings, is usually conducted in rural, farming, countryside or isolated areas where the use of an observation van is impractical. (Jenkins, 2010, p.205). The allegations and charges that were cited in both the Ruby Ridge and Waco incidents were severe enough to warrant such surveillance and information gathering. The allegations and charges in the case of the Waco siegeand stand off include firing of automatic weapons from their compound, modifying legally purchased guns into illegal weapons, stock piling illegal weapons, child abuse, advocating polygamy, fathering many children through a harem run by the leader of the group. The government also had an informant infiltrate the target but unknown to him, his cover had already been blown. The target must have fed him with wrong and misleading information as was evidenced in his reply about what the target group were doing. He replied that they were praying when in actuality they were arming themselves for the siege from the government. If the government had taken the time to set up an OP, taking note to use all rural OP precautions, they would have been able to overtime get in close, set up both surface and sub surface OPs and gather evidence or information about the illegal weapons production activities, observe automatic gun fire activities, confirm daily routine of key target group members. The surveillance could have produced information on child abuse issues as well as polygamous activities. Intelligence from the surveillance could have been used to better coordinate efforts of all agencies involved with the siege. An even better alternative would have been to arrest the main target when he was out of his comfort zone as he often did by mingling with locals during gun shows. Lack of coordination even among one government agency with some leaning towards aggression while others opted for negotiations shows the level of unpreparedness to move forward with the mission. The government knew that they had been compromised but instead of adopting less risky options, they decided to move in with little or incorrect intelligence about the ... After the outbreak of WW1 in 1914, the German Army opened the Western Front by first invading Luxembourg and Belgium, then gaining military control of important industrial regions in France. Australian forces contributed to 26 battles across Germany, Belgium and France, however often ending in stalemate. This was the major cause of death in Australian troops. In the winter the weather would get down to below zero. There were reports of Australians toes falling off, after freezing and contracting gangrene. This would occur when the trenches were filled with mud up to their ankles in a trench two metres wide and 2 metres high. When the Australians arrived at the Western front, the first thing they saw were the lines of wounded soldiers being taken to the rear. As they got closer, they could feet the earth shake, and hear the constant crump of artillery shells. This was known as trench foot and not uncommon in Australian soldiers. • 5. Imperialism In The White Man s Burden By Rudyard Ripling In the poem The White Man s Burden by Rudyard Kipling, Americans are asked to join other imperialists, Europeans, in civilizing the rest of the world. The poet urges Americans to send in their best bred sons to go into other countries to serve their captives. This rallying call comes out when Kipling says, Send forth the best ye breed , Go bind your sons to exile , To serve your captives need , which is a call for America s soldiers to go to war overseas. The poet argues that the war will bring peace, and eradicate hunger and disease in the countries that the sons of Americans will go to fight. Kipling brings out these benefits in the lines: The savage wars of peace , Fill full the mouth of Famine and And bid the sickness cease; The United Statesimperialism can be argued to have started in the 1890s, especially with the Philippine American war of 1898 to early 1900s. In the poem, Kipling urges America to join the bandwagon. In the lines; Take up the White Man s burden , No tawdry rule of kings, Kipling suggests that the white man s culture is superior to that of the weaker nations, a reason why the imperialist should conquer and civilize the nations. The Role Of Women During The Era Of Tang Dynasty Of Chos Д№ВЋ N The role of women has undergone numerous changes throughout the ages in South Korea, the most palpable being those of 20th century due to industrialization. This shows an extreme example of a woman who does not consider herself virtuous anymore after being touched by a man other than her husband. Yangban or the ruling class seemed to be following the Confucian codes of conduct more closely than other classes. Yangban families were usually landowners; therefore yangban women would not usually be engaged in any work outside of home. However, new Neo Confucian ideology demanded that women stay confined at home, abiding by the adage men outside, women inside . Seclusion of female line to women s chambers, referred to as anpang, enunciated further deepening of segregation of the genders. Anpang, or the inner rooms of the house, were well hid from the sight from the street and public. The yangban status was fundamentally family oriented and the main purpose of a wife in family was that of reproduction and serving the patrilineal family line. According to Confucian philosophy, three obediences were required from a virtuous woman: to her father as a daughter, to her husband during marriage and to her son once she reached old age. After marriage, women had to move to their in laws houses and were not allowed activity outside home. Due to that, they fully engaged into their role of wives and mothers. In order to fulfill this role, they had to be skilled in household management, conducting ancestral rites and others. • 7. aircraft icing Essay Introduction Plane crashes occur for a number of reasons. There seems to be a consensus with the general public that flying is dangerous, engines fail and planes crash. That is true some times, although the majority of plane crashes occur largely due to a combination of human error and mechanical failure. In much of aviations accidents mechanical failure has been a contributing factor. It is impossible however to blame plane crashes on one reason since events leading up to an accident are so varied. Reasoning for plane crashes can be placed in a broad number of categories. Environmental conditions play a vital part in aviation as a whole. This accident could have been avoided if proper procedure was followed in deicing. The NTSB investigation concluded that the combination of the crew s use of thrust reverse on the ground for push back, and their failure to active the engine anti ice system caused the crash. By failing to activate the engine anti ice system, large amounts of snow and ice that were sucked into the engines during reverse thrust were allowed to remain there. Ice built up on the compressor inlet pressure probe, which measures engine power. As a result instrument indications in the cockpit showed an Engine Pressure Ratio of 2.04, while the power plants were in reality only producing 1.70 EPR, or about 70% of available power. The combination of the ice covered wings and low power caused an immediate stall on takeoff killing 74 people. (Kilroy, 9). In Americans Eagle Flight 4184 October 31, 1994, heavy air traffic and poor weather postponed the arrival of this flight at Chicago s O Hare International Airport, where it was to have landed en route from Indianapolis, Indiana. The ATR 72, a twin engine turboprop carrying 68 people, entered a holding pattern 65 miles southeast of O Hare, which it maintained for over an hour in freezing rain. As the plane circled, a ridge of ice formed on the upper surface of its wings, eventually causing the aircraft s autopilot to suddenly disconnect and the pilots to lose control. The ATR disintegrated on impact with a field below, killing everyone aboard. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Coherentism and Foundationalism Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up with a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers readers explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These two different theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a foundationalist, they believe that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic belief. This belief would be largely independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs. A coherentist feels that a belief can be reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The foundationalist theory of justification boils everything... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with this belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the coffee is freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in my mug, the coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can feel the warmth from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist would like, but they all cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the coffee in my mug is hot. It is my opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and more specifically, this example. While I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are justified simply because they just are, I am not convinced that all the beliefs we have in this world can be broken down quite in this way. I do however, feel that many of our beliefs are based in a web of other believes that all support each other. I know that my coffee is hot for many reasons, one being that I can feel it. I don t think that I necessarily need to break it down into experiences when I have many other clues that could more easily justify my belief. This quote genuinely shows the essence of Pop Art and how Pop Art became a whole different breed of art. Pop Art came like a thunderstorm taking over the globe in the late 50 s and the early 60 s and has continued to be a staple in the world of art. Pop Art has played a massive part in art history and in history in general. The aim for this paper is to inform audiences about Pop Art by exploring how Pop Art was formed, why it was even started, and to tell you about some artists who truly shaped Pop Art. Roy Lichtenstein once said, Art doesn t transform. It just plain forms (Wolf). In 1952 a hand full of artists who called themselves the independent group met up in London, England. Some members of the group included Edourdo Paolozzi, Richard Hamilton, Alison and Peter Smithson, Lawrence Alloway, and Reyner Banham. They began to meet up on a regular basis to discuss topics including mass culture s grip on the fine arts, the found object, and science and technology. Since the British were still trying to recover from the trying times of WWII they ended up resorting to fantasies of America and the lavish American culture. Soon the independent group was looking into the idea of a commercial character. Many of them questioned this thought and began to wonder if the idea would ever take off. While on the raft, floating down the river, Jim and Huck have multiple serious conversations. One of these conversations is about slavery. Huck is defending white people by saying that blacks have always been slaves and that is just how it is going to be. Jim then explains, Just because you re taught that something s right and everyone believes it s right, it don t make it right. This teaches Huck that he does not always have to follow the expectations of society if he does not believe they are right. The Grangerfords play an immense part in Huck s next adventure. Ever since organizations and agreements like the North American Free Trade (NAFTA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were created around the end of World War 2 to supposedly help the Third World nations to establish better economies and governments, they have only done more harm than good for these nations. These third worldcountries end up becoming exploited and extorted, forced to become dependent on the big international organizations like the IMF because of the exorbitant interest rates charged on them, thus they remain forever in debt. The accumulation of debt then allows the IMF to have more voice over how the indebted countries should be shaped and how they should run their economy. What ends up happening then is that their... As these authors point out, the terms of the loans reflect the economic and political interests and values of the world s wealthiest nations (470) . It is seen here already that that does not bode well for Zambia. One clearly can see that globalization is just another way first world nations still colonize the world, but instead through means of economic and trade conquests. Now, the article continues on to talk about the kind of changes that the IMF implemented on Zambia: they wanted them to devalue their currency and stop supporting many domestic programs, social welfare programs, and fire federal employees and instead they wanted them to focus on increasing their exports for the global market. And what are changes without its consequences? Because the IMF favored the growth of international markets, the local economy in Zambia suffered greatly. Devalued ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Hostility Towards Transgender Students One of the most complex and diverse populations of people are those categorized as transgender. These people are very often the subject of intense scrutiny, discrimination, ostracism, verbal harassment and even physical assault. These responses to a transgendered person often stems from a lack of understanding, confusion, fear, and anxiety when interacting with these people. In order to understand why people are so unsettled when in the presence of a transgenderindividual, it is essential to fully understand the term transgender. The American Psychological Association published a Question and Answer pamphlet (2014) to help the public understand the Transgender population in America. The APA defines the term transgender as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex which they assigned at birth (p. 1) They go on to explain the differences between gender identity and gender expression. Gender identity is the person s internal sense of being male, female, or something else (p. 1). Gender Expression refers to the way a person communicates gender identity to others through their behavior, clothing, hairstyles, voice, and/or body characteristics (p. 1). Activist Margaret Sanger opens the first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and starts the American Birth Control League, the precursor to Planned Parenthood. A few years later, in 1934, an Endocrinologist Gregory Pincus uses a test tube and a rabbit to help develop a contraceptive device. About seventeen years later, specifically in 1951, Sanger meets Pincus at a party in New York, and this is where Sanger persuades Pincus to help out with work on a birth controlpill. Meanwhile, in that same year another chemist from Mexico city, named Carl Djerassi, creates a similar pill. He does this by synthesizing hormones from Mexican yams. Even though pill has been invented, Djerassi isn t equipped to test, to produce, or to even distribute it. This in turn means that Sanger and Djerassi are competing in a way. About a year later, in 1952 Gregory Pincus tests progesterone in rats. From this experiment Pincus figures out that it actually works. Afterwards, he meets gynecologist named John Rock. Rock already began testing a chemical contraception for women. The next year, Katherine McCormick who is a biologist, a women s rights activist, writes Pincus a check for $40,000 to conduct research into furthering research about the pill. From this large amount of money, Rock and Pincus are able to conduct the one of the first human trials. The trials is based off of fifty women that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This story of our history includes dozens of species and hundreds of fossils and bones, yet fairly few complete or even partial skeletons. Their side rows of teeth were in parallel lines and were heavily enameled which entails that they ate hard, abrasive foods such as nuts, but researchers also believe that they also ate fruits. These hominids were possibly the size of modern female chimpanzees and there is evidence of sexual dimorphism. The first cause argument is also known as the cosmological argument. The universe could not have come into being without something that started it. Therefore, this argument does show that God exists. This essay will analyse the first cause argument, provide proof of why God is shown that he exists by the first cause argument and, explore the objections and counter objections that people have when it comes to this argument. The first cause argument shows the existence of God through the statement that the universe must have a cause and as result, it is impossible for there to be an infinite cycle of causes so therefore, God exists because he is the first cause. The strength of this argument is that it indicates the need for something in order for there to be a beginning, but why conclude that this Something is God? I conclude that this ... John Swift s A Modest Proposal In Jonathan Swift s satirical work, A Modest Proposal, the reader is presented with a horrible concept using extremely effective language and logos; Swift uses strong speech, rational tone, and complex grammar to convince readers that eating children will solve all the problems in 19th century Ireland. Swift s overall goals in his pamphlet, however, is not to actually encourage eating babies, which is why it is of satire, but is instead to raise awareness of Ireland s conditions for living, failing political figures, and the tyranny brought by England. Swift states in his sub title, For Preventing the Children of poor People in Ireland, from being a Burden to their Parents or Country; and for making them beneficial to the Public ... Swift lulls the reader into a false sense of trust by beginning with descriptions of the position of the poor in Ireland. The reader may think at first that this is a serious essay, making the point all the more loud when it eventually appears. The idea itself comes from a very knowing American, which is a small attack on the Americas and American colonies. Rhetorically, the first couple of quotes stated are the strongest in bringing attention to Ireland s issues. It s comical in the fact that he uses such a horrible idea to raise the red flags in the minds of the Irish people. In an earlier paragraph Swift writes, It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great town, or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin doors crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags, ad importuning every passenger for an alms (Swift par.1). This quote should be understood as a highlight to the poor living conditions of Ireland. There have been many times in history when people have been unwilling to accept things that are different than what they belief. There has been the Nazi regime, whites segregating blacks, people who disagree with people who are homesexual, and Donald Trump. One example of intolerance is during the Nazi regime. When Hitler came to power in 1933, he tried to imprison and kill all Jews and nobody for the most part tried to stop him. Hitler didn t stop there though, he still thought that everyone who didn t have blonde hair and blue eyes were not good enough, because they were not what he thought to be the perfect race. There was the holocaust. There were about 42, 500 facilities in Germany that were used for slave labor, mass murder, and other human right abuses. It is to be predicted that about 200,000 Jews died during the Holocaust. Jews were hunted down and were forced to go into hiding. The individual provinces are responsible for law enforcement, although in many cases this is contracted to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is a federal agency. The power to prosecute crimes belongs to the federal government, but responsibility for these prosecutions is delegated to the provinces for most types of crime. However, to make the issue more streamlined, laws and sentencing guidelines are fairly uniform throughout the country, but there are varying levels of enforcement based on individual provinces (Boyd, 2011). The crime rate in Canada has been in a general decline since 1991 and recent statistics show that of those crimes reported, 48% were property related and 12.6% were violent crime. Beta is an indicator of how risky a particular stock is and is used to evaluate its expected rate of return. Beta is one of the fundamentals stock analysts consider when choosing stocks for their portfolios, along with price to earnings ratio, shareholder s equity, debt to equity ratio and other factors. If the stock s rate of return is 7 percent and the risk free rate is 2 percent, the difference would be 5 percent. 4. 4 Subtract the risk free rate from the market (or index) rate of return. If the market or index rate of return is 8 percent and the risk free rate is again 2 percent, the difference would be 6 percent. 5. 5 Divide the difference in the stock s return rate minus the risk free rate by the market (or index) rate of return minus the risk free rate. This is the beta, which is typically expressed as a decimal value. In the example above, the beta would be 5 divided by 6, or 0.833. * The beta of the market itself, or its representative index, is by definition 1.0, as the market is being compared against itself and any nonzero number divided by itself equals 1. A beta less than 1 means that the stock is less volatile than the market as a whole, while a beta greater than 1 means the stock is more volatile than the market as a whole. The beta value can be less than zero, meaning either that the stock is losing money while the market as a whole is gaining (more likely) or that the stock is gaining while the market as a whole is losing money (less likely). * When figuring beta, it is common, though not required, to ... The death penalty is currently an intense debate involving the idea of whether or not we as people should be able to sentence another person to death. Following these rules maintains the balance between the severity of the punishment and the maximum positive effects the punishment has. However, it would be extremely difficult to apply these rules to today, because of the many different crimes and circumstances. Bentham was very against the death penalty and his proposed alternative to the popular punishment at the time was life in prison with hard labor and even occasionally solitary confinement. When given the choice between the death penalty and the life imprisonment of which Bentham spoke, he believed that as a Utilitarian he must choose the life imprisonment. Bentham believed that the threat of living in prison for life was greater than the thought of death. This is it was a long, drawn out, torturous process. This would compare to the quick death they would receive if they got the death penalty. There are five major points that he makes against the death penalty using his utilitarian theory. The first point he makes is that the death penalty is not profitable. By this Bentham means a dead person can do nothing to repair the damage done by their crimes, whether this repair means helping the victim or helping the society in which the crime was committed. The amount of energy required depends on many factors including size and weight of the athlete, level and intensity of the training, and due to this the amount of energy required varies from person to person. However if more energy is consumed than required, the excess is stored as fat and weight will increase, on the other hand if insufficient energy is consumed the body calls upon its stores to meet the demand and weight will be lost. To do this the same calculation was made as the female runner, except instead of 8.7 x kg it is 14.7 x kg and 496 is added instead of 829, this is because this athlete is in a different age group. Again activity requirement is taken into consideration, at 450 calories an hour, and as exact training figures are not available it has been estimated at 6 hours training a week, which then works out as an extra 2700 calories a week. This figure is then divided by 7 to give the extra calories needed each day. So this athlete needs a total of 3384 calories a day to maintain her current stature. Again the daily allowance needs to be divided between the macronutrients. According to National Institute of Nutrition (2007) this athlete needs CHO:Lipids:Protein at 60:25:15.
