Dbq Women s Rights
The foundation of a democratic society is elections. The right to vote and the right to be elected are
important parts of civil war. During the mid 1800s, America women did not have the same social
position as men had. They had no voting rights, also when they married their husband would have all
their properties and had no property inheritance rights proposed requirements. In addition, they were
not allowed to work outside their house. To serve a juror, on the court to testify, go to the college and
to mention in politics, all these were forbidden for women. In order to have the same political rights
which equal to men, women have been fighting for their own rights in over a century. The beginning
of the fight was women s right movement, activities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1918, forced from the pressure from the public, President Wilson switched his stand on women s
voting rights from objection to support through the influence of Catt, who had a less combative style
than Paul. He began to propose an amendment that gives these women right to vote. Finally, in 1920
the congress issued the nineteenth Amendment which also named the Susan B. Anthony Amendment
in order to remember the contribution she dedicated. The Amendment has an essential position in
American history. It ended almost a century s protest for women s rights. No matter how, the
movements at last got succeeded after a lot of blame,

Persuasive Essay On Nuclear War
Can you imagine yourself getting evaporated in a blink of an eye? I know no one wants to imagine
that, but it might become reality soon if countries still keep possessing nuclear weapons. Furthermore,
these weapons of mass eradication are an upcoming threat across the world because of its capacity for
destruction which is why I chose to tell people my opinion on this matter. Additionally, I adopted this
crisis as my essay topic because nuclear arms aren t just a domestic problem; it is a dilemma on a
global scale. My aim today is to give you my two cents on why the prohibition of nuclear arsenals is
the right thing to do! To stop this emergency, I will need all my readers help in protesting in peaceful
ways against the arms because as Martin Luther once said: Nothing good ever comes from violence.
Moreover, here s a question I would like you to answer, have you ever been jealous when someone
you know has something, such as a video game, which you really want but you aren t allowed to get
it? Sadly, I recognize that a lot of us have been in this situation before. In the same way, other
countries are jealous the few countries with nuclear arsenals, and this hatred will lead to bad relations
between the. Furthermore, this jealousy could lead into huge wars and may even cause world war 3.
What you should do to end this is that you should tell everyone one you care about about the danger of
nuclear weapons on our race. After you tell them that remember to

Summary Of Title VII Of The Civil Rights Act Of 1965
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1965 was designed to protect workers from job discrimination.
These employees are known as protected class. Under the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Opportunity Act
of 1972 and 1991 provide for equal employment opportunity, in which everyone had the right to
employment regardless of sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. The purpose of the
Equal Opportunity Act was to make sure employees gained and kept employment based solely on their
ability to perform their job (Schermerhorn, J. Bachrach, D. 2015, p. 295). Under this title,
organizations are expected to show affirmative action. Affirmative action gives preference in
employment to traditionally underrepresented women and minority

Comparative Textual Analysis of Two Articles
The key to being able to differentiate one newspaper from another is often, if not always, the way the
latter presents its news, both aesthetically and stylistically. These aspects have gradually divided
newspapers into two distinct categories: broadsheets and tabloids. The former being a more neutral
and respected type and the latter a newspaper for more or less entertainment purposes only. This can
be well observed in two specific articles that both report on political campaigns.
The first one, an extract from The New Vision, a pro government Ugandan publication, recounts
presidential candidate Paddy Bitama s arrival to the official nomination as an election candidate. The
article vaguely follows Bitama („of Amarula Family an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article also uses a lot of local expressions such as „bodaboda , a word which has been given the
meaning of a bicycle taxi .
The second article however, recounts the story of Nixon s involvement in a bugging scandal that
eventually led to his resignation as U.S. president. Another basic aspect that differentiates this
newspaper article from the Ugandan one is, first of all, that it is not as recent (seeing as the latter was
published in 2010 and the former in 1972) and seems to be a bit more serious and longer in length.
Nonetheless, this article, entitled „GOP security aide among 5 arrested in bugging affair still has some
emotive and vague language: „We deplore action of this kind in or our of politics and „the mystery
deepens , along with a few euphemisms such as „the bugging incident . From this one will be able to
conclude that even this article is not completely un biased. In fact, it is, additionally, rather informal.
This is especially obvious when the journalists decide to use GOP, a nickname for the Republican
Party and an abbreviation of „Grand Old Party , instead of its official name.
Finally, the short paragraphs that make the article a whole are crowded with various quotes, and even
mention the rather irrelevant age of a certain CIA employee James W. McCord. Even though these
aspects are, as

Monroe Doctrine
Monroe Doctrine The Monroe Doctrine can be considered as the United States first major declaration
to the world as a fairly new nation. The Monroe Doctrine was a statement of United States policy on
the activity and rights of powers in the Western Hemisphere during the early to mid 1800s. The
doctrine established the United States position in the major world affairs of the time. Around the time
of the Napoleonic Wars in the 1820s, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia all gained their
independence from Spanish control ( quot;Monroe Doctrine quot; 617). The United States was the
first nation to recognize their independence from Spain. The European powers had still considered the

Jefferson had said with Great Britain, quot;on our side, we not fear the world quot; ( quot;Monroe
Doctrine quot; 617). Although Great Britain and the United States were on the same track, they had
differences. The United States had recognized the colonies as new nations and Great Britain had not
(Perkins 37). George Canning said that Great Britain would use their powerful Royal Navy to stop
European intervention whether or not they had a joint declaration ( quot;Monroe Doctrine quot; 617).
Then on October 12th, 1823 Canning had a number of meetings with Prince Jules de Polignac who
was a French ambassador in London. Their meetings concluded with the Polignac Memorandum,
saying that France would not help Spain regain her lost colonies. All of this hindered the action toward
cooperation. John Q. Adams had opposed the issue of a joint statement with the British (Migill 595).
Adams asked, quot; Why should the United States appear as a cockboat in the wake of a British man of
war? quot; (Perkins 51). With the guaranteed backing of the British Royal Navy and the Polignac
Memorandum the United States did not need the British in the statement. The United States would not
have to share the glory with the British. Monroe, convinced by Adams arguments, agreed to go on
their own. Canning twice on September 18th and 26th offered again and twice the United States
turned him down. Canning had suggested that Great Britain

With this new advertising campaign, Iceland has cut prices of a large number of the products from the
1 pound price value down to 89p with none other than Peter Andre to unveil this new scheme.
I only ever get involved in a campaign when I truly believe in it. Having experienced first hand the
variety of great quality foods, both fresh and frozen, I can honestly say that Iceland is a great place to
shop, full of family favourites and offers outstanding value. (Peter Andre 2014)
As said earlier, the new ad campaign was created to reach out the individuals who purchase the
household goods for their respective families. Each advert is designed in many ways to appeal to
every customer; it shows Iceland s main strong points which are frozen foods that have got no harmful
chemicals, horse meat and any added preservatives which could be harmful to the human body but just
the old traditional method of food preservation which is freezing, the ads also show its standard free
home deliveries from a minimum of a £25 spend with consumer friendly delivery staff and the main
point that Iceland is trying to portray in their new ad campaign is the cut off prices that have been
tagged on most of their quality

Federal Prison Reform Case Study
With consequential reprehensible policies, mass incarceration became a significant political issue
prompting the need for federal prison reforms and solutions to an ongoing crisis. California voters
initially passed the three strike law in 1994, but the consequences of the massive increase in inmate
population, degradation of state prisons, a federal order to reduce the prison population, and fiscal
budget cuts to government programs led to the shift in the political consciousness of the public.
Likewise, since 2009, thirteen civic engagement programs were initiated to represent and mobilize
communities most impacted by implemented policies (Smith 2014). In 2012, voters approved
Proposition 36 that aimed to modify some of the aspects of the

Everyone in town realizes Dodger wasn t Catholic and they will refuse to have his funeral at the
Catholic church. Catherine however does not care, she loved Dodger as if he were own child almost.
Catherine only wants to have a lovely funeral for the poor boy at her nice church instead of the
Undertakers. Humans often take feel generous towards the dead, that is as long as they respect the
dead. It seems only natural to want the best for a death struck loved one, and who would be right to
refuse a grieving person s request?
Catherine Foster can only try to do what she knows is right for every living human she can help, but
even though she tries, she lacks the ability to do all that she sees fit to be done. If Catherine lived in
today s time she would have had the power to give to whomever she see fit to receive and she would
be accepted and even celebrated for her gift of intellect. Catherine is a very good hearted woman that

Role Of Copper In The Chain Of Life Essay
INTRODUCTION: COPPER S PLACE IN THE CHAIN OF LIFE
For good health and vitality, the human body needs several key nutrients that work together, like the
links of a chain. If one of the links is broken, the chain is ineffective hence the saying: A chain is as
strong as its weakest link. The nutrients that form the chain of life are carbohydrates, protein,
vitamins, enzymes, lipids and sterols and minerals. All the six must be present in adequate quantities
for life to thrive.
Minerals, the group that copper belongs to, are critical to every chemical reaction that occurs in the
body. Whether it s energy production, tissue manufacture, protein synthesis, water balance or cellular
growth and reproduction, at least one mineral is required. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consumption of high amounts of zinc can help remove of excess copper from the body.
COPPER RICH FOODS
Because the human body cannot synthesize copper, this mineral must be obtained exclusively from
diet in trace amounts. You ll get dietary copper from a wide variety of foods, which include dark green
leafy vegetables such as kale and spinach; seafood such as oysters, squid and lobster; dried legumes
such as kidney beans and soy and nuts such as walnuts, hazelnuts and cashew nuts.
Other food sources of copper include organ meat such as liver, avocado, chocolate, dried peaches, figs
and raisins. Drinking water supplied through copper pipes also delivers some small quantities of
copper, even though most people don t anything about it. Such an abundance of dietary sources of
copper might suggest that there s no need for supplementation. But a recent research has established
an emerging trend that should get people to sit up and listen. According to a recent survey, only 25%
of Americans are consuming a daily amount of copper that the US Food and Nutrition Board of the
National Academy of Sciences considers to be adequate. Where has all the copper

work he had undertaken. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens there was no sign of life
on the barren ground. From the dust of the ground and the breath of life he formed the man who will

mentally or emotionally. My parents worked so hard and became successful which inspires me and
seeing them hurt stresses me out when i m unable to do anything. My last source of my stress are
certain lifestyle choices. I tend to make poor choices that affect other situations in my life in a
negative way. For example, staying up late on a school night or skipping an important event to hang

on how I look or even how I dress and feeling worried about others opinions or other situations. Other
internal factors are being confused with what I m doing with my life. Some external factors include,
school and work. Being overloaded with work causes a huge stress on me along with not sleeping at
night or having family issues. Like most things there are positives and negatives, technology is one of

Hindi Dalit Literature
Hindi Dalit literature s moment has arrived. After years of obscurity and unflattering comparisons to
the maturity and expressiveness of Dalit literature in languages such as Marathi and Tamil, creative
Dalit writing in Hindi is finally reaching a more visible level of popular recognition. Hindi Dalit

are today being regularly published by Delhi s top Hindi language publishing houses, Rajkamal and

Yet the truth is that magazines such as Hans have been increasingly publishing Dalit literature as a
matter of course. The publication of the 2004 special issue proved to be one of several rallying
moments around the same time for this large and diverse community of writers, activists and
intellectuals; as well as a popular legitimisation of sorts of the hard work this community had been
doing for years to carve out a space in the world of Indian literature to articulate the experiential and
political perspectives of Dalits. The mainstreaming impact of this kind of publication could be seen
when, five years later, in August 2009, Navaria again edited the annual special issue ofHans this one
not specifically focused on Dalit writing but rather on new voices in Hindi literature, of which Dalits
are a part. But 2004 also provided a very public moment of dissent within the Dalit writing

political and literary authenticity. On 31 July of that year, members of the Delhi based Bharatiya Dalit

The Beer Simulation
Root Beer Simulation From what I could see, there were not multiple roles to play in this simulation;
instead, everyone logging into the simulation appears to play the same role, which was that of the
distributor ordering products from the manufacturer and attempting to get them to the customers. This
is an important point, because in many ways a distributor has greater flexibility than a retailer and a
manufacturer, but, in other ways, faces far greater constraints than business people in other positions.
The distributor s role is to get stuff from a manufacturer or other wholesaler and then distribute that
stuff to resellers. From reading the instructions, it appears that there are actually different roles to play
in the project, but I actually logged in from different computers to see if I would get to play another
role in the game, but every time I ended up in the distributor role. One of the interesting things about
the simulation was that one did not start from scratch in the project. Instead, the simulation is already
running and is in a certain week of production and distribution when the student enters into the
stimulation. This means that the student gets both the benefit and the burden of work done by prior
students. In my scenario, this ended up having a very detrimental impact on me, because I began with

Kristallnacht Reflection
The Holocaust was a horrific time period. It all started around 1933 when Hitler was appointed
Chancellor of Germany. Hitler used the Nuremberg Race Laws to deprive the Jews of their German
citizenship. Kristallnacht, which is a government organized pogrom against Jews in Germany was the
start of the mistreatment of Jews in their homes and synagogues. Holocaust survivors like Elie Wiesel
shared their stories to provide more insight into what actually happened during this time. Elie Wiesel
was 15 at the beginning of his Holocaust experience. The Holocaust was a time of devastation for
millions of Jews. The Nazis went to the Jews homes and told them to start packing their bags. They
were getting ready to send the Jews away from their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were either going to burn in the crematory or go into the gas chambers. The German society was
very wicked towards the Jews. There was a hidden reason behind the Nazis moving the Jews from
camp to camp, separating their families, and beating or killing any Jews who make a mistake. The
evidence shows that in the early days of their accession to power, the Nazis in Germany set out to
build a society in which there simply would be no more room for Jews. (Wiesel, viii) They also state
that, It is obvious that the war which Hitler and his accomplices waged was a war not only against
Jewish men, women, and children, but also against Jewish religion, Jewish culture, Jewish tradition,
therefore Jewish memory. (Wiesel, viii) This shows just how badly the Nazis wanted to kill the Jews.
They made them work and then decided to kill them off. In the end they got their wish when while
watching their friends and neighbors fall dead all around them, when there were many who started
dying off. (Wiesel) The whole purpose for their mistreatment towards the Jews was because they
simply didn t want them there. They wanted to be ruler over them and their population. Elie Wiesel
decided to write this book to tell his story about his Holocaust experience. Elie wanted to spread the
message that the other Jews couldn t. He stated that his reason

Comparing Beowulf And The Odyssey
The word epic comes from the Ancient Greek adjective, epikos , which means a poetic story. In
literature, an epic is a long narrative poem, which is usually related to heroic deeds of a person of an
unusual courage and unparalleled bravery. The hero is usually the representative of the values of a
certain culture, race, nation, or a certain religion on whose victory or success will affect the destiny of
the whole nation or group. Therefore, certain supernatural forces help the hero who comes out victor
at the end. An epic usually starts with an invocation to muse, but then picks up the threads of the story
from the middle and moves on to the end (Literary Devices). Both Beowulf and The Odyssey are
prime examples of an epic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beowulf is more of a Christian worldview if anything, but does also have pagan views in some
aspects. For example, the story makes many references to God as well as saying that Beowulf is God s
answer to their prayers as oppose to Satan, whom the people also prayed to out of desperation. But,
Beowulf is said to have the strength of 30 men, which is obviously superhuman and leans away from
Christian belief (Beowulf 300). Beowulf, is a reflection of many Anglo Saxon ideals and concepts.
This work was written after the Anglo Saxons were already Christianized, yet the pagan traditions that
had dominated their lives were still present in their minds. Overall, Beowulf contains many pagan
themes and concepts, but yet it also contains many clear references to Christianity. It is an Anglo
Saxon work with a peculiar spiritual atmosphere. However, although the means through which men
gained fame may seem to conflict with certain elements of Christianity, the author reconciles this fame
with many references to God. Although strength and heroism may not necessarily be Christian
concepts or virtues, the author attributes both of these to God through the speech of his characters.
This ties Beowulf s prowess and fame back to God, and mixes in a pagan concept to Christianity.
However, Beowulf is essentially a Germanic warrior whose actions, despite their Christian glossing,
are not of a truly self sacrificing character. But, that isn t necessarily a bad flaw. He is concerned with
the courage and honour that the heroic code demands of him; the reason for his voyage to Denmark is
not primarily to avenge and protect Hrothgar and his people, but to extend his and his lord s glory.
Moreover, Beowulf s death does not deliver his people or ensure their safety (The Amalgamation). In
effect, Beowulf has some religious accuracy but only to a certain degree. And sense it is also unclear

Essay about The Beauty Myth
By: Kelly Winch
The Beauty Myth, published by Doubleday in New York City, hit the shelves in 1992. Naomi Wolf
wrote this 348 page book. Wolf attended Yale University and New College, Oxford University, where
she was a Rhodes Scholar. Her essays have been printed in many well known magazines and
newspapers, including Esquire and the New York Times. The Beauty Myth was Wolf s first book. She
has also written two other books, Fire With Fire and Promiscuities. Wolf is a recognized feminist. She
has done a lot of writing and has spoken to many audiences about issues involving feminism. In The
Beauty Myth, Wolf s basic thesis states that there is a connection between female liberation and
female beauty. She writes: The more legal and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flaws, wrinkles and other problems are airbrushed out of the picture. Wolf discusses the effect that
these standards are having on women in the workplace. A woman s beauty, or lack of it, can be used
against her. In 1986, Mechelle Vinson lost a sexual harassment case. Vinson was young and
‘beautiful and carefully dressed. The district court ruled that her appearance counted against her.
(Wolf 38) In Hopkins v. Price Waterhouse, Ms. Hopkins was denied a partnership because she needed
to learn to ‘walk more femininely, talk more femininely, dress more femininely, and ‘wear makeup .
She brought in more business than any other employee. (Wolf 39) I believe that this book has value
and people from all walks of life should read it. We all need to become much more aware of how
strong and how damaging this kind of media influence is. Women and men need to realize that there
are companies in our culture that thrive on making us feel bad about ourselves, such as cosmetic
companies, health clubs, clothing designers; anyone that is trying to change us. The book was well
written and extremely interesting. The reviews on the back cover say it all; that this book is essential
reading. I will recommend it to all of my friends. Hopefully those who are very self doubting and
considering cosmetic surgery will realize they are trying to fit into an abnormal standard of beauty.

Section 8 Housing Subsidy Program
In order to help meet housing needs for struggling families, the United States Government, through
the Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides benefits to help those families pay rent and
support their own homes through the Section 8 Housing Subsidy Program. Carlson, Haveman, Kaplan,
and Wolfe (2011) found that an estimated 5.2 million Americans rely on the housing vouchers, and the
vouchers help very low income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and
sanitary housing in the private market (p. 233). The family or individual is able to lease a rental home
with the help of the voucher and the voucher amount depends on the family s income. The Section 8

Essay On Matching Method
Thank you very much for the points of missing important assumptions and justifications of my

these assumptions, limitations, and potential violation(s).
The evaluating causal effect of outside directors dissention on the firm value is difficult, because it is
almost impossible to observe the individual effect. However, it is possible to estimate and compare the
average treatment effect of the event (dissention) and the effect from the control group. However, as
you pointed, the confounding variable might involve in this relation. It is possible a confounding

This is also reported by two recent studies that a dissention is a function of firm characteristics (Jiang
et al., 2016; Ma and Khanna, 2015). It is also a strong assumption in general because it is very
difficult to find and control all possible confounding variables.
However, with a practical point of view, the conditional independence (or unconfoundedness) is
stronger than the assumption used in statistical software. It means that the treatment does not influence
on the conditional mean of each potential outcomes after controlling the covariates. In this study, it is
possible to show that general firm characteristics are similar between the treatment group and the
control group except firm value. Therefore, it is possible to hold the conditional mean independent
assumption after matching a sample, although it is difficult to hold the conditional independent
assumption.
Another assumption in this approach is the overlap assumption that each firm have a positive
probability of having a dissention. There is no difference in the chance of dissention between a firm in
the treatment group and a firm in the control group. Statistically, it can be tested in a statistical
software. Please see the Stata results using teffects ipw and teffects overlap. Thank you very much for
the points of missing important assumptions and justifications of my matching method. Although it is

A Quilted Balance Essay
The earth is filled with all sorts of substance, all sorts of matter. This is the fabric that sews it together.
That is how our faith should be, filled with all sorts us substance. We sew pieces of God s instructions
together for our faith to work and keep the seams nice and tight so the seam does not come lose. For
example, those pieces are belief, practice, knowledge, testing, exercising, growing pains, strength, and
stableness. All those substances are allowing for God to make us as a beautiful quilted blanket.
Faith cannot be seen with the physical eye. That is why the word says that we walk by faith and not by
sight. Each piece of fabric that we add to our faith makes up that quilted blanket, it starts takes up
space. The pieces fit together to fulfill a purpose. When we give faith a place in our lives, we are

The last time a football team played in Los Angeles was in 1994 and that was with the Los Angeles
Rams and Los Angeles Raiders. Both teams left after the 1994 season. The Raiders returned back to
Oakland and the Rams relocated to St. Louis. Fortunately for football fans in Los Angeles, the Rams
returned back to LA this year. They played their first preseason game in LA on Saturday and beat the
Dallas Cowboys by 4 points in a 28 24 comeback finish. The Rams played mediocrely, but finished
strong especially with surprisingly good QB, Sean Mannion who wasn t even expected to get a role in
the QB position this year. Sean Mannion went 18/25 for 147 yards and 3 TD with 1 INT. Case
Keenum, the presumptive regular season starter did go 6/7 for 58 yards and no TD or INT and a RTG
of 101.2. Case Keenum played well for the time he was in, but only got 7 attempts in, so it is hard to

Prisoners Of War Essay
Treatment of prisoners of war (POW) was bad in Vietnam, but almost just as bad when they got home.
POWs were subjected to awful physical, and mental treatment of POWs in Vietnam. They were
tortured in various, awful ways. Finally when they got home, to the United States they were treated
horribly as well.
In the beginning of the Vietnam War the Vietnamese people stated that the American prisoners
captured had committed war crimes against the north Vietnamese people, and did not get the rights of
a regular prisoner, and those people were called Prisoners of War (POWs). Therefore they were treated
even more unfairly than just a regular American Prisoner. That is also why the Vietnamese refused to

signs of respect to their enemies because they felt like they were betraying the United States, but at the
same time they did not want to be tortured. They were constantly having their morals tested. Some
POWs who had been captive for the longest time ended up going insane. They were in a foreign
country, with no connection to anything, and had no contact to their families. Meanwhile they had no
idea what was going on in the US. We can not know for sure what each individual was feeling at the

Cultural Influences
Cultural Influences
You enter another country and notice many odd, unique things you ve never seen or interacted with
before. In this world, there are many cultures that express themselves differently.
We re all born and raised differently from each other . Each culture may do things that contradict with
what we know, but it s how each culture was brought up. It is clear when considering an individual s
education, family, environment, and race that culture is always a huge impact on how someone views
the world.
Education is one cultural influence that makes people view the world in different perspectives. One
text that can relate to this is in An Indian Father s Plea quoting, So I realize he may be slow in
grasping the methods and tools that you are now using in your classroom, ones quite familiar to his
white peers, but I hope you will be patient with him. It takes time to adjust to a new cultural system
and learn new things (Lake 77). The son here was educated differently than his classmates. This
caused the teacher to believe he is slow in learning because he wasn t taught the way they teached.
Another text is by Everyday Use stating, She washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a
lot of knowledge we didn t necessarily need to know (Walker 60). The daughter tries to teach her
family things that they don t deem is
Aguilar, Manzano, Rugerio, Schott, Zamora 2 necessary or important because it isn t useful for them
in their daily lives. In the end, education is a major factor in how individuals scope the world.
Family is one of the most influential part of someone s perspective on the world s culture. Family
influences their point of view on how they are raised and also how families develop their traditions,
hobbies, and beliefs. For example in In Indian Father s Plea the father said, If you were to ask him
how many months are there in a year, he would probably tell you
13; he has been taught by our traditional people that there are 13 full moons in a year according to the
native tribal calendar (Lake 78). In Everyday Use Maggie learned how to quilt because quilting is pent

Western Influence On Iranian Culture
Both Iranian art and Iranian politics have undergone many drastic transformations during the 20th and
21th centuries. In the early 20th century, Iranian modern art was born. Reza Pahlavi took power,
ending the Qajar dynasty. The new Pahlavi dynasty would only last 54 years, but under Reza Shah,
Iran began the process towards westernization. The conflict between this rapid modernization and Iran
s strong cultural tradition affected the art of the period visual culture blended western styles with
Persian and Islamic imagery. The 1979 revolution brought a wave of traditionalism and Islamization
to Iran, and art reflected this trend. Western influence was shunned, and more and more political and

Their failure to fix the aftermath of the White Revolution was especially humiliating, as the regime
had gained power through their anti Shah rhetoric. President Ali Rafsanjani, the fourth president, tried
to ameliorate the economic struggles by removing or lowering barriers which restricted foreign
involvement in the Iranian market. He also opened up the existing universities and allowed more
private universities to be established. However, the US economic sanctions against Iran were the
toughest during his presidency. In May 1995, President Clinton issued an executive order banning all
US Iran trade. Rafsanjani s successor, President Mohammad Khatami, continued the trend of opening
Iran to the international scene again. In his inaugural speech, he advocated for greater freedom of
speech and freedom to criticize the government. He also worked on renewing relationships with
western countries. He visited Italy and France. Under his government, Iran had growing commercial
and diplomatic ties with Europe, and the US government eased its economic sanctions against Iran.
However, the economy was still in crisis under Khatami. Too many people were entering the
workforce, with not enough jobs to support them. A sense of pessimism and defeatism

Inner Conflict In Hamlet
Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare debuted the play in
1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue within. For instance, in Act Three
Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in
both Claudius and Hamlet through the use of dueling soliloquies.
To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for forgiveness for his sins, but
he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning. This conflict is seen when Claudius says,
...since I am still possessed/ of those effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own
ambition, and my queen. May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He
was given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle with staying on
the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found being king to be wonderful. He
enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for
him and how he s supposed to act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for
forgiveness. This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it smells to
Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul murder , since it proves that
Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness
despite not

Firstly, the topic of weakness is shown in King Duncan with his over abundance of trust in those close
to him. He is first betrayed by the Thane of Cawdor and second by Lord and Lady Macbeth. King
Duncan vowed to never again be betrayed No more that thane of Cawdor shall deceive (Shakespeare

What Is The Relationship Between The Gods And The Greek Gods
In Homer s The Odyssey, we see many comparisons of the relationships between the great Greek gods
and the mortals that lay below them. We can use many words to compare the two s relationship;
mutual, parent and childlike, and a sense of early government ruling over its people. Although, what
we see between the Greek gods and mortals is the gods playing the role of a somewhat metaphysical
guide through the story we still have this confliction of whether they are friends, foe s, or neither. We
will be diving deeper into this matter in the following paragraphs below to look at how the gods
themselves reflect the image of a guide for the mortals or even a temporary enemy, how they used
their powers to help the mortals, and with this role the conflicts and agreements that are created
between the two. As said above, in Homer s The Odyssey we see many gods who are helpful to
Odysseus on his epic journey. To be more specific we see Athena the goddess of wisdom the most
taking an interest in protecting and helping Odysseus along his journey. We see the beginning of her
lending out her hand to him when she complains to her father Zeus in front of the other gods on Mt.
Olympus that Odysseus is being held captive on Calypso s island. This is seen when she says,
Remember him, a godly king as kind as a father. / No, he s still languishing on that island, detained /
Against his will by that nymph Calypso. / No way in the world for him to get back to his land (Homer

  • 2. Dbq Women s Rights The foundation of a democratic society is elections. The right to vote and the right to be elected are important parts of civil war. During the mid 1800s, America women did not have the same social position as men had. They had no voting rights, also when they married their husband would have all their properties and had no property inheritance rights proposed requirements. In addition, they were not allowed to work outside their house. To serve a juror, on the court to testify, go to the college and to mention in politics, all these were forbidden for women. In order to have the same political rights which equal to men, women have been fighting for their own rights in over a century. The beginning of the fight was women s right movement, activities ... In 1918, forced from the pressure from the public, President Wilson switched his stand on women s voting rights from objection to support through the influence of Catt, who had a less combative style than Paul. He began to propose an amendment that gives these women right to vote. Finally, in 1920 the congress issued the nineteenth Amendment which also named the Susan B. Anthony Amendment in order to remember the contribution she dedicated. The Amendment has an essential position in American history. It ended almost a century s protest for women s rights. • 3. Persuasive Essay On Nuclear War Can you imagine yourself getting evaporated in a blink of an eye? I know no one wants to imagine that, but it might become reality soon if countries still keep possessing nuclear weapons. Furthermore, these weapons of mass eradication are an upcoming threat across the world because of its capacity for destruction which is why I chose to tell people my opinion on this matter. Additionally, I adopted this crisis as my essay topic because nuclear arms aren t just a domestic problem; it is a dilemma on a global scale. My aim today is to give you my two cents on why the prohibition of nuclear arsenals is the right thing to do! To stop this emergency, I will need all my readers help in protesting in peaceful ways against the arms because as Martin Luther once said: Nothing good ever comes from violence. Moreover, here s a question I would like you to answer, have you ever been jealous when someone you know has something, such as a video game, which you really want but you aren t allowed to get it? Sadly, I recognize that a lot of us have been in this situation before. In the same way, other countries are jealous the few countries with nuclear arsenals, and this hatred will lead to bad relations between the. Furthermore, this jealousy could lead into huge wars and may even cause world war 3. What you should do to end this is that you should tell everyone one you care about about the danger of nuclear weapons on our race. After you tell them that remember to ... These employees are known as protected class. Under the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Opportunity Act of 1972 and 1991 provide for equal employment opportunity, in which everyone had the right to employment regardless of sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. The purpose of the Equal Opportunity Act was to make sure employees gained and kept employment based solely on their ability to perform their job (Schermerhorn, J. Bachrach, D. 2015, p. 295). • 5. Comparative Textual Analysis of Two Articles The key to being able to differentiate one newspaper from another is often, if not always, the way the latter presents its news, both aesthetically and stylistically. These aspects have gradually divided newspapers into two distinct categories: broadsheets and tabloids. The former being a more neutral and respected type and the latter a newspaper for more or less entertainment purposes only. This can be well observed in two specific articles that both report on political campaigns. The first one, an extract from The New Vision, a pro government Ugandan publication, recounts presidential candidate Paddy Bitama s arrival to the official nomination as an election candidate. The article vaguely follows Bitama („of Amarula Family an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article also uses a lot of local expressions such as „bodaboda , a word which has been given the meaning of a bicycle taxi . The second article however, recounts the story of Nixon s involvement in a bugging scandal that eventually led to his resignation as U.S. president. Another basic aspect that differentiates this newspaper article from the Ugandan one is, first of all, that it is not as recent (seeing as the latter was published in 2010 and the former in 1972) and seems to be a bit more serious and longer in length. Nonetheless, this article, entitled „GOP security aide among 5 arrested in bugging affair still has some emotive and vague language: „We deplore action of this kind in or our of politics and „the mystery deepens , along with a few euphemisms such as „the bugging incident . From this one will be able to conclude that even this article is not completely un biased. In fact, it is, additionally, rather informal. This is especially obvious when the journalists decide to use GOP, a nickname for the Republican Party and an abbreviation of „Grand Old Party , instead of its official name. Finally, the short paragraphs that make the article a whole are crowded with various quotes, and even mention the rather irrelevant age of a certain CIA employee James W. McCord. Even though these aspects are, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Monroe Doctrine was a statement of United States policy on the activity and rights of powers in the Western Hemisphere during the early to mid 1800s. The doctrine established the United States position in the major world affairs of the time. Around the time of the Napoleonic Wars in the 1820s, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia all gained their independence from Spanish control ( quot;Monroe Doctrine quot; 617). The United States was the first nation to recognize their independence from Spain. The European powers had still considered the new nations as still belonging to Spain. The Americans had a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jefferson had said with Great Britain, quot;on our side, we not fear the world quot; ( quot;Monroe Doctrine quot; 617). Although Great Britain and the United States were on the same track, they had differences. The United States had recognized the colonies as new nations and Great Britain had not (Perkins 37). George Canning said that Great Britain would use their powerful Royal Navy to stop European intervention whether or not they had a joint declaration ( quot;Monroe Doctrine quot; 617). Then on October 12th, 1823 Canning had a number of meetings with Prince Jules de Polignac who was a French ambassador in London. Their meetings concluded with the Polignac Memorandum, saying that France would not help Spain regain her lost colonies. All of this hindered the action toward cooperation. John Q. Adams had opposed the issue of a joint statement with the British (Migill 595). Adams asked, quot; Why should the United States appear as a cockboat in the wake of a British man of war? quot; (Perkins 51). With the guaranteed backing of the British Royal Navy and the Polignac Memorandum the United States did not need the British in the statement. The United States would not have to share the glory with the British. Monroe, convinced by Adams arguments, agreed to go on their own. Canning twice on September 18th and 26th offered again and twice the United States turned him down. Canning had suggested that Great Britain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With this new advertising campaign, Iceland has cut prices of a large number of the products from the 1 pound price value down to 89p with none other than Peter Andre to unveil this new scheme. I only ever get involved in a campaign when I truly believe in it. Having experienced first hand the variety of great quality foods, both fresh and frozen, I can honestly say that Iceland is a great place to shop, full of family favourites and offers outstanding value. (Peter Andre 2014) As said earlier, the new ad campaign was created to reach out the individuals who purchase the household goods for their respective families. Each advert is designed in many ways to appeal to every customer; it shows Iceland s main strong points which are frozen foods that have got no harmful chemicals, horse meat and any added preservatives which could be harmful to the human body but just the old traditional method of food preservation which is freezing, the ads also show its standard free home deliveries from a minimum of a £25 spend with consumer friendly delivery staff and the main point that Iceland is trying to portray in their new ad campaign is the cut off prices that have been tagged on most of their quality ... Federal Prison Reform Case Study With consequential reprehensible policies, mass incarceration became a significant political issue prompting the need for federal prison reforms and solutions to an ongoing crisis. California voters initially passed the three strike law in 1994, but the consequences of the massive increase in inmate population, degradation of state prisons, a federal order to reduce the prison population, and fiscal budget cuts to government programs led to the shift in the political consciousness of the public. • 11. Role Of Copper In The Chain Of Life Essay INTRODUCTION: COPPER S PLACE IN THE CHAIN OF LIFE For good health and vitality, the human body needs several key nutrients that work together, like the links of a chain. If one of the links is broken, the chain is ineffective hence the saying: A chain is as strong as its weakest link. The Beer Simulation Root Beer Simulation From what I could see, there were not multiple roles to play in this simulation; instead, everyone logging into the simulation appears to play the same role, which was that of the distributor ordering products from the manufacturer and attempting to get them to the customers. This is an important point, because in many ways a distributor has greater flexibility than a retailer and a manufacturer, but, in other ways, faces far greater constraints than business people in other positions. The distributor s role is to get stuff from a manufacturer or other wholesaler and then distribute that stuff to resellers. From reading the instructions, it appears that there are actually different roles to play in the project, but I actually logged in from different computers to see if I would get to play another role in the game, but every time I ended up in the distributor role. One of the interesting things about the simulation was that one did not start from scratch in the project. Instead, the simulation is already running and is in a certain week of production and distribution when the student enters into the stimulation. This means that the student gets both the benefit and the burden of work done by prior students. • 23. Comparing Beowulf And The Odyssey The word epic comes from the Ancient Greek adjective, epikos , which means a poetic story. In literature, an epic is a long narrative poem, which is usually related to heroic deeds of a person of an unusual courage and unparalleled bravery. The hero is usually the representative of the values of a certain culture, race, nation, or a certain religion on whose victory or success will affect the destiny of the whole nation or group. Therefore, certain supernatural forces help the hero who comes out victor at the end. Beowulf is more of a Christian worldview if anything, but does also have pagan views in some aspects. For example, the story makes many references to God as well as saying that Beowulf is God s answer to their prayers as oppose to Satan, whom the people also prayed to out of desperation. But, Beowulf is said to have the strength of 30 men, which is obviously superhuman and leans away from Christian belief (Beowulf 300). Beowulf, is a reflection of many Anglo Saxon ideals and concepts. This work was written after the Anglo Saxons were already Christianized, yet the pagan traditions that had dominated their lives were still present in their minds. Overall, Beowulf contains many pagan themes and concepts, but yet it also contains many clear references to Christianity. It is an Anglo Saxon work with a peculiar spiritual atmosphere. However, although the means through which men gained fame may seem to conflict with certain elements of Christianity, the author reconciles this fame with many references to God. Although strength and heroism may not necessarily be Christian concepts or virtues, the author attributes both of these to God through the speech of his characters. This ties Beowulf s prowess and fame back to God, and mixes in a pagan concept to Christianity. However, Beowulf is essentially a Germanic warrior whose actions, despite their Christian glossing, are not of a truly self sacrificing character. But, that isn t necessarily a bad flaw. He is concerned with the courage and honour that the heroic code demands of him; the reason for his voyage to Denmark is not primarily to avenge and protect Hrothgar and his people, but to extend his and his lord s glory. Moreover, Beowulf s death does not deliver his people or ensure their safety (The Amalgamation). In effect, Beowulf has some religious accuracy but only to a certain degree. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is also reported by two recent studies that a dissention is a function of firm characteristics (Jiang et al., 2016; Ma and Khanna, 2015). It is also a strong assumption in general because it is very difficult to find and control all possible confounding variables. However, with a practical point of view, the conditional independence (or unconfoundedness) is stronger than the assumption used in statistical software. It means that the treatment does not influence on the conditional mean of each potential outcomes after controlling the covariates. In this study, it is possible to show that general firm characteristics are similar between the treatment group and the control group except firm value. Sean Mannion went 18/25 for 147 yards and 3 TD with 1 INT. Case Keenum, the presumptive regular season starter did go 6/7 for 58 yards and no TD or INT and a RTG of 101.2. Case Keenum played well for the time he was in, but only got 7 attempts in, so it is hard to say what his true value is at this point. Unfortunately, 2016 overall first round pick, Jared Goff played a somewhat lackluster game and left with a minor shoulder injury. Goff went 4/9 for 38 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... POWs were subjected to awful physical, and mental treatment of POWs in Vietnam. They were tortured in various, awful ways. Finally when they got home, to the United States they were treated horribly as well. In the beginning of the Vietnam War the Vietnamese people stated that the American prisoners captured had committed war crimes against the north Vietnamese people, and did not get the rights of a regular prisoner, and those people were called Prisoners of War (POWs). Therefore they were treated even more unfairly than just a regular American Prisoner. That is also why the Vietnamese refused to provide the names of the prisoners being held, and did not allow visits from Red Cross to make sure the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were constantly being yelled at and put under pressure, and into tough situations. An example of this would be when the captors would make POWs salute to the Vietnamese flag, and if they refused they would be tortured. This was hard on the Americans because they did not want to salute and give signs of respect to their enemies because they felt like they were betraying the United States, but at the same time they did not want to be tortured. They were constantly having their morals tested. Some POWs who had been captive for the longest time ended up going insane. They were in a foreign country, with no connection to anything, and had no contact to their families. Meanwhile they had no idea what was going on in the US. • 32. Cultural Influences Cultural Influences You enter another country and notice many odd, unique things you ve never seen or interacted with before. In this world, there are many cultures that express themselves differently. We re all born and raised differently from each other . Each culture may do things that contradict with what we know, but it s how each culture was brought up. It is clear when considering an individual s education, family, environment, and race that culture is always a huge impact on how someone views the world. Education is one cultural influence that makes people view the world in different perspectives. One text that can relate to this is in An Indian Father s Plea quoting, So I realize he may be slow in grasping the methods and tools that you are now using in your classroom, ones quite familiar to his white peers, but I hope you will be patient with him. It takes time to adjust to a new cultural system and learn new things (Lake 77). The son here was educated differently than his classmates. This caused the teacher to believe he is slow in learning because he wasn t taught the way they teached. Another text is by Everyday Use stating, She washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a lot of knowledge we didn t necessarily need to know (Walker 60). The daughter tries to teach her family things that they don t deem is Aguilar, Manzano, Rugerio, Schott, Zamora 2 necessary or important because it isn t useful for them in their daily lives. In the end, education is a major factor in how individuals scope the world. Family is one of the most influential part of someone s perspective on the world s culture. Family influences their point of view on how they are raised and also how families develop their traditions, hobbies, and beliefs. For example in In Indian Father s Plea the father said, If you were to ask him how many months are there in a year, he would probably tell you 13; he has been taught by our traditional people that there are 13 full moons in a year according to the native tribal calendar (Lake 78). In Everyday Use Maggie learned how to quilt because quilting is pent off her family s hobbies and their culture. It was grandma Dee and Big Dee who taught her how to quilt (Walker ... President Ali Rafsanjani, the fourth president, tried to ameliorate the economic struggles by removing or lowering barriers which restricted foreign involvement in the Iranian market. In May 1995, President Clinton issued an executive order banning all US Iran trade. In his inaugural speech, he advocated for greater freedom of speech and freedom to criticize the government. He also worked on renewing relationships with western countries. He visited Italy and France. Under his government, Iran had growing commercial and diplomatic ties with Europe, and the US government eased its economic sanctions against Iran. • 36. Inner Conflict In Hamlet Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare debuted the play in 1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue within. For instance, in Act Three Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in both Claudius and Hamlet through the use of dueling soliloquies. To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for forgiveness for his sins, but he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning. This conflict is seen when Claudius says, ...since I am still possessed/ of those effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own ambition, and my queen. May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He was given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle with staying on the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found being king to be wonderful. He enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for him and how he s supposed to act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for forgiveness. This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it smells to Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul murder , since it proves that Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness despite not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. What Is The Relationship Between The Gods And The Greek Gods In Homer s The Odyssey, we see many comparisons of the relationships between the great Greek gods and the mortals that lay below them. We can use many words to compare the two s relationship; mutual, parent and childlike, and a sense of early government ruling over its people. Although, what we see between the Greek gods and mortals is the gods playing the role of a somewhat metaphysical guide through the story we still have this confliction of whether they are friends, foe s, or neither. We will be diving deeper into this matter in the following paragraphs below to look at how the gods themselves reflect the image of a guide for the mortals or even a temporary enemy, how they used their powers to help the mortals, and with this role the conflicts and agreements that are created between the two. As said above, in Homer s The Odyssey we see many gods who are helpful to Odysseus on his epic journey. To be more specific we see Athena the goddess of wisdom the most taking an interest in protecting and helping Odysseus along his journey. We see the beginning of her lending out her hand to him when she complains to her father Zeus in front of the other gods on Mt. Olympus that Odysseus is being held captive on Calypso s island. This is seen when she says, Remember him, a godly king as kind as a father. / No, he s still languishing on that island, detained / Against his will by that nymph Calypso. / No way in the world for him to get back to his land (Homer 5. 14 17).
