Summary And Analysis Essay
Crafting a "Summary and Analysis Essay" can be a challenging endeavor that requires a
combination of critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication. The difficulty lies
not only in summarizing the main points of the source material but also in providing a thoughtful
analysis that goes beyond surface-level observations.
Firstly, summarizing requires a keen eye for identifying key ideas while omitting irrelevant
details. Striking the right balance between brevity and completeness can be a delicate task. A
summary should capture the essence of the original text without losing its nuances, which
demands a deep understanding of the source material.
The analysis component adds another layer of complexity. It requires the writer to go beyond
mere description and delve into the significance of the ideas presented. This involves examining
the author's intent, evaluating the effectiveness of their arguments, and considering the broader
implications of the content. Constructing a coherent analysis demands critical thinking skills and
the ability to draw connections between different elements of the text.
Moreover, maintaining a clear and concise writing style is crucial. Expressing complex ideas in a
straightforward manner can be challenging, especially when trying to balance the need for depth
and clarity. Achieving a well-structured essay that flows logically from summary to analysis
requires careful planning and organization.
In conclusion, composing a "Summary and Analysis Essay" is a multifaceted task that demands a
combination of skills. From distilling key points to providing insightful analysis, the process can
be intellectually demanding. However, with careful attention to detail and a structured approach,
one can navigate the complexities of this essay type successfully.

The Release Of India From The British Grip Of Power
Seemed
The release of India from the British grip of power seemed to be a historic victory, but
it soon posed problems for the inhabitants the subcontinent. Ever since the formation
of Pakistan and India, the East Pakistani population saw a cultural divide between
themselves and their Western counterpart. Although there were numerous other
factors that had contributed to this difference, language was the one critical catalyst
for Bengali self determination. The formation of Bangladeshi nationalism began with
the Bengali Language movement, which was of key significance because it unified
the Bengali people under the banner of nationalism. Historical events leading up to
the Bangladesh Liberation War, such as the Indo PakistanWar and Operation... Show

With the goal of avoiding religious bloodbath, what seemed to be a simple, quick fix
solution for state separation posed a series of problems for Pakistan. The problem lay
in the fact that there were two completely different nations that were forced to
coalesce into one state. This dilemma can be seen with the fundamental differences
between West and East Pakistan. Although East Pakistan contained a little over half
(54.8%) of the total Pakistani population, it only took up about an eighth (15.1%)
of the total land area. However, the disparities between the East and West do not
end with land distribution. In both foreign aid and per capita income, West Pakistan
dominated their Eastern counterpart. This economic disparity persisted during the
ten years of Pakistani independence, and the per capita income actually worsened
over a ten year period (between 1950 1960). The offices of the central Pakistani
government were all located in the west, and recruitment for civil, military, and
administrative positions were predominantly given to West Pakistanis. However, the
key difference between West and East Pakistan lay in culture. Each respective region
contained two spheres of peoples that were vastly different in regards to attitudes
and ambitions. The West was a land of mountains and deserts, and its people
mimicked the solidity and stability of its geographic features. The West Pakistanis
were described to be energetic, and had fierce respect for government,
Gullah Culture Research Paper
The Gullah/Geechee people are a group of Black Americans from North Carolina,
South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The Gullah/Geechee people are a distinctive
group of African Americans that have been the most successful in preserving customs
and traditions from their Africa culture. This group has maintained their native
tradition and customs in America more than any other African American group.
According to National Geographic An environmental impact statement published in
2005 estimated that 200,000 people of Gullah and Geechee heritage live along the
southeast coast (Otterbourg, 2014, p 11). They speak a creole language similar to

How Student Can Use Memory Concepts That Will
Improve...
Having memories impacts our lives greatly without them society would not be as it
is today. According to Grison, Heatherton, and Gazzaniga(2015), memory is the
capacity to acquire and retain information and skills. Not all experiences will be
equally remembered, some events will leave no memory, others will be remembered
but later forgotten, and other times a memorycan be remembered for a lifetime. I will
be looking into how student can use memory concepts that will improve student s
grades if they follow it correctly. And also talk about my personal study habits and
how I can improve them so I can get a more positive result in my classes. There are
three phases of memory; which are encoding, storage, and retrieval. According to
Calvillo (2014); encoding is the processing of information so that it can be stored,
storage is the retention of encoded representations over time, and lastly retrieval is the
act of recalling or remembering stored information when it is needed. When students
use these three phases in school properly it will lead to success in their academic
career but if they just do minimal preparation and cut corners it will lead to a stressful
time for the student. For example in the encoding process a good student would
reread a section until they familiarize themselves with the new information. A bad
student would just go over a section once and just keep on going on to new
information even though they have not familiarized themselves with the new
Postmodern Deconstructionism In Alice Walker s Everyday
Use
No matter what age or generation, people live in a world filled with opposition and
conflict. Though this sounds harsh and unforgiving, this description is completely
and utterly accurate. In society, people run into all sorts of oppositions without
realizing it at all. For example, a person could walk into a darkened room and flip
on the light without stopping to ponder the conflict between light and dark . These
examples in our daily lives drones on and on from the difference between hot and
cold water to the difference between your phone when it is on or off. Though these
types of oppositions seem mundane to the average person, to a deconstructionist
these distinct concepts are imperative in deconstructing a text. When people describe
deconstructing a text, they are referring to the postmodern deconstructionism which
focuses mainly on these oppositions and the type of relationship they share. When
referring to these oppositions, a deconstructionist uses the word binary which can be
found in literature of all types and through all sorts of literary interpretations. Alice
Walker s Everyday Use is no exception to this concept with its story focusing on
lifestyle and heritage differences displayed between the main characters. Though one
can interpret Everyday Use as a story presenting the two binary aspects of a
traditional, heritage based, yet impoverished lifestyle and an affluent, modern, yet
forward thinking lifestyle as completely opposing concepts, one can
Sacrifice Of Iphigenia
Iphigenia has been apart of many mythological stories, showing the harshness of
people. The myth of Iphigenia was said to be that she was sacrificed for the
mistake of her father, Agamemnon. He was setting out to fight in the battle of
Troy. The story of Iphigenia represents the sadness and sorrow felt for her and the
identification of the struggle she experienced. Both The Sacrifice Of Iphigenia by
Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and Iphigenia by Alfred, Lord Tennyson use the myth of
Iphigenia to indicate that inhumane, egocentric people will sacrifice others in
order to defend themselves. After analyzing the poem Iphigenia, it can be
acknowledged that Alfred Lord Tennyson takes in deep consideration of Iphigenia
s pain. This can be exhibited on line 1 of the poem as Iphigenia says I was cut off
from hope in that sad place (Analysis). The tone of the poem could be utilized as
woe and upsetting, establishing the fact Iphigenia is in distress and needs help.
There is little hope, contemplating the idea nobody will appear to help (Analysis).
The quote The stern black bearded kings, with wolfish eyes, waiting to see me die,
is used in terms of her sacrifice, exterminating the idea of hope for Iphigenia for the
time being (Analysis). Alfred, Lord... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Giovanni Battista Tiepolo uses Iphigenia and her placement to demonstrate that
everyone around appeared to witness her being sacrificed. The situation Iphigenia
is in can be related back to the mood, creating sadness and pity for her (Analysis).
She is said to be better known as the daughter of Agamemnon, Iphigenia was
sacrificed in order to appease Artemis ( Iphigenia ). In the poem, Iphigenia appears to

Analysis Of The Book The Hunger Games
In the book The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen is a sixteen year old girl, living
under a totalitarian government that demands a boy and a girl to be sacrificed each
year. The children are sent into an arena to fight to the death. Katniss is chosen and
against all odds she wins, by an act of rebellion, along with the boy tribute from her
district. During her time in the arena she helps to fan the flames a rebellion against
the government, putting herself and others in danger. However, she ultimately
overthrows it. In the television series Alias, SydneyBristow is a graduate student who
is secretly a spy for the CIA and a double agent in a terrorist cell called SD 6. Before
joining the CIA, Sydney worked for SD 6, under the impression it was the CIA.
However, her fiance was killed by the leader of SD 6. This is when she found out
that SD 6 was actually a cell of a terrorist group called the Alliance, not the CIA. In
retaliation for killing the love of her life, Sydney joins the CIA to sell secrets and
thwart the Alliance. Eventually, Sydney destroys the entire Alliance group, SD 6 and
all of the other cells.
These two women have something in common. Both are iconic tough women. The
gap between the airing of Alias and the release of The Hunger Games is relatively
short. A mere three years. There is no real time for Katniss to have evolved to the
next level tough womanhood. Especially, considering that the book would have been
written while the show aired regularly. So,
Employee Health Benefits Are Undergoing A Radical
Change...
Employee health benefits are undergoing a radical change due the passage of the
Patient Protection Affordable Care Act in March 2010, employers are having to re
evaluating how and if they will be provide health benefits to their employees (Grant
Thornton LLP, 2013). According to Dunn, Kirsschner, Livingston (2014) the PPACA
has created new complications into collective bargaining negotiations over health
insurancebenefits. Especially in firms like GMFC which employs a large numbers
of workers (50,000) who must now comply with federal statutes delegated by the
PPACA (Dunn, Kirsschner, Livingston, 2014). According to Grant Thornton LLP
(2013), Employer sponsored health care plans have been one of the major sources of
health insurance in the United States and cover an estimated 149 million people (p.
3). Additionally, the use of health care plans in benefit packages has been a critical
factor for employers in recruiting and retaining quality employees (Grant Thornton
LLP, 2013).
Impediments for GMFC
In previous years, many firms struggled to control the escalating health insurance
costs while trying to shift the increasing portion of those costs onto their employees.
Unfortunately, after PPACA passed, these challenges only became amplified and
forced employers to reassess their company s health benefits and bargaining position
on health benefits for their employees. GMFC is also feeling the same effects and
consequently their management team must now develop and
Who Was Responsible For The St. Bartholomew s Day
Massacre
Why have historians produced such different accounts of who or what was
responsible for the St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre? August 25, 1572, marked the
infamous day of the St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre. The slaughter of Gaspard de
Coligny and several dozen Huguenot leaders, followed by the murder of
thousands of people in the streets of Paris that day set off tremendous shock waves
throughout Europe. As Barbara Diefendorf points out, the massacre provides a
graphic illustration of the savagery of the religious strife in France at that time.
The question of responsibility of the Massacre has been much debated amongst
contemporaries and historians, each producing a different account of who was
responsible. Whether it was Charles IX, Catherine de Medici, the Guise family,
and other primary political figures who instigated the attacks, one will never know
for certain. This is unfortunately due to the scarcity and the unreliability of the
contemporary sources. What this essay will aim to do is highlight some of the
main approaches historians have taken to answer the question who was responsible
for the St. Bartholomew s Day massacres? and what was responsible for the St.
Bartholomew s Day massacres? . I will also attempt to answer why historians have
approached their arguments in such a way. I will do this by focusing on the works
of J. E. Neale, N. M. Sutherland, Mack Holt, Barbara Diefendorf, Natalie Zemon
Davis, Philip and Arlene Jouanna. Through analysing the works

Analysis Of Severus Snape
Severus Snape is one of the most beloved, and yet most despised, characters in the
history of literature. Appearing in the famed novel and movie series, Harry Potter,
Snape has touched, warmed, and broken people s hearts since the summer of 1997.
When readers first met Snape in Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, he was
hated and feared as the teacher with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow
skin. However, it is not until the series nears its end in Harry Potterand the Deathly
Hallows, that the readers learn that Severus Snapewas cruel and brutal for many
reasons. One of the most controversial topics in literature is whether Snape was a
villain or a hero. In agreement with the latter, I believe that Snape was a hero
because he was selfless and brave. Severus Snape, although appearing ghastly and
gruesome, was extremely selfless. The way he treated Harry Potter and a number of
other students made him hated and disliked by many. Snape, a strict and feared
teacher, appeared to be a very unpleasant person. However, not everything is what it
seems. Behind the monster, was a selfless man who would do anything for love. In
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the readers learn that Snape did everything in
his power to shield Harry from Lord Voldemort. After his death on the second of
May in 1998, Snape s memories were transported via tear yo the Pensieve, which
animates one s memories. His memories revealed that he loved Harry Potter s
mother, Lily. He and Lily
How The Renaissance Changed Over The Time
The renaissance to me is a very interesting topic and a very important era. A lot
changed during this time period that caught my attention. My research will be on the
renaissance and on 1 artists from that time period. I will begin by discussing how the
renaissance changed over the time and how art was involved. In addition, I will be
discussing about 1 artist and there history, following by the materials and techniques
he use.
The renaissance is also known as the new birth of resurrection. During the 200
years between 1400 and 1600, Europe had some great reveals of drawings, fine art
paintings and architecture mostly in Italy. During this era there were lots of
discoveries. There was a desire to explore the features of nature and the ... Show more

Around the age of 14, da Vinci began a lengthy apprenticeship with an artist named
Andrea Del Verrocchio in Florence. Where he then learned a variety of skills like
metal working, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting. His earliest
known work is a pen and ink drawing of a landscape in the Amo valley. He later
started his own work shop. Using his inventive skills, da Vinci sketched war
machines such a war chariot with blades mounted on the sides, and armored tank
propelled by two men cranking a shaft and even an enormous crossbow that required
a small army of men to operate. He believed studying science made him a better artist.
Leonardo thought the ability to see was mankind s most important sense and most
important organ. Da Vinci began to seriously study anatomy and dissect human and
animal bodies. He s drawings of fetus in utero, the heart and vascular system, sex
organs and other bone and muscular structures are some of the first human records. In
addition, to his investigation da Vinci studied botany, geology, zoology, hydraulics,
aeronautics and physics.
He also sketched His observations on loose sheets of papers and pads that he tucked
inside his belt. He placed the papers in his personal notebook and arranged them with
four themes, painting, architecture, mechanics and human anatomy. His filled dozens

School Grade English Language Arts And Reading Teacher
As a newly graduated teacher, I was beyond grateful when I received that phone
call asking if I would like to accept the position as a Hubbard Middle School sixth
grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher. After accepting the position, I
spent weeks planning for those bright faces to walk into my classroom door and
for my world to be forever changed. How would I manage their behavior? Would I
allow them to go to the restroom during class? Throughout the summer, leading up
to the first day that I would go from a student to a teacher and be in charge of one
hundred budding minds and personalities, I lined out everything I needed to have a
successful first week. Supplies were sorted into bins, lesson plans were submitted,
and copies of get to know you games were made. All through college I heard that
the amount I had learned all those year in college wouldn t compare to the amount
I would learn my first year teaching. I was prepared to be a life long learner, but I
didn t want anything to come as a surprise. Once that door shut, all responsibility
would rest on my shoulders. As the year went on, not wanting to jinx myself by
saying it out loud, I thought that what they had told me about my first year teaching
being the hardest year of my life must have skipped right over me. I was learning a
lot, but it was easier than expected. I had amazing relationships with my students, I
respected them and that respect was returned, the communication between myself and
The Expeditions Of The Expedition
The names Lewis and Clark have almost always been associated with excellence and
adventure. Their expedition westward in search of a water passageway across the
country has become etched into the annals of history as one of the earliest and
greatest examples of American nationalism and survives not only as a compelling
story, but also as a piece of living, breathing history. However, upon examining the
expedition, several prudent questions arise: Could the expedition truly have known
what awaited them out west? Was meeting the now legendary figure Sacagawea
someone the group intended to find? And maybe most importantly, concerning the
preparation efforts taken by the expedition s generals, most notably Meriwether Lewis
, did the group... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within this territory held a lot of unknown information, but what was known came
from writings and works of England s Captain James Cook and prior expeditions to
explore the territory funded by the American Philosophical Society. Thomas Jefferson
, the third President of the United States and the biological father, so to speak, of the
Lewis and Clark expedition, had been well interested in finding the shortest most
convenient route of communication between the U.S. the Pacific ocean. One
notable example of this was with a French botanist by the name of AndrГ©
Michaux, who in the year 1793, embarked on an expedition to search for an all
water route access across the continent. Michaux was selected by the then Vice
President Jefferson because the Frenchman was a trained scientist in botany,
astronomy, mineralogy, and ethnology. Jefferson s goals for this expedition was
purely geographically based, but also for the sake of knowledge, signifying how
curious many Americans were of the then unknown territory. Unfortunately, the
expedition didn t end the way Jefferson imagined it would, as Jefferson discovered
Michaux to be a secret agent of the French Republic who was then recalled on
Jefferson s behalf. Over the following years, Jefferson let the idea sit in the dust,
mainly due to political duties, and the mention of an American led expedition across
the continent wouldn t be mentioned until the early 1800s. Before the Lewis and

The Principles Of Scientific Management Focus On
Increasing
The principles of scientific management focus on increasing employees productivity
and efficiency. After joining the industry, Taylor identified three fundamental
characteristics of the industry that contributed to its inefficiency. Their identification
facilitated the development of the basic principles of scientific management, which
guided Taylor in eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and efficiency. The
elimination of waste functioned because of the systematization of production process,
systematization of tools, standardization of work and the wage incentive all created
to increase productivity (Tompkins, 2005). According to Tompkins (2005), monetary
incentive remains a practicable option, which public agencies utilize to... Show more

Taylor s theory was more applicable to manufacturing industry than the current
service industry, hence why it needs modification. He did not foresee the future of
service industry and telecommuting jobs. Telecommuting jobs are currently
increasing in availability and popularity. These jobs require innovative skills,
promote managerial flexibility, autonomy, and use high level of technology, which do
not demand physical power like manufacturing industry. Presently, more companies
have shifted their focus from extrinsic motivation to intrinsic motivation, which
matches the needs of today s workforce. Nowadays companies employ different
motivation strategies to motivates their employees. For example, they use job
rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment, which Taylor did not mention. Job
rotation is a temporary switching of job assignments, while job enlargement is
increasing the variety and number of tasks within a job (DuBrin, 2011). Based on the
above argument, the theory s problem is its failure to utilize other motivation
strategies like job rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment.
Recommendations
There are several ways of improving the scientific management theory to suit today s
workforce. For instance, companies can use job rotation, job enlargement, employee
empowerment, and telecommuting. Job rotation provides an exceptional opportunity
regarding the sharing of knowledge from the senior/experienced

Abstract
This paper compares and contrasts the concepts found on John P. Kotter s, Leading
Change (1996), book and the concepts presented by John M. Ivancevich, Robert
Konopske and Michael T. Mattenson s Organizational Behavior and Management
text book. Kotter emphasizes in each step the importance of dealing with human
emotions and how to better manage them when dealing with organizational change.
The biggest asset to an organization is their human resources. To an organization this
simply means that many emotions need to be addressed before a door can be opened
towards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people that are leading the efforts are in charge of making changes that should
result in a more effective organization in terms of organizational strength. This step
can be compared to Ivancevich et al. s concepts of teams and changing attitudes.
The guiding coalition should act as a synergetic team as described by Ivancevich et
al. This team should be formed by individuals who are one hundred percent
committed and dedicated towards the goal of organizational change. They should be
skilled in leadership, problem solving and emotional roles (P. 259). The emotional
role will be discussed more in depth when presenting the changing attitudes concept.
Forming a guiding coalition is an essential component for undertaking a restructure,
reengineer or to retool strategies (Kotter, 1996, P. 52).
Kotter mentioned the integrity or trust factor as a main component to altering
employees negative attitudes and motivating them towards change. The concept
presented by Ivancevich et al. on changing attitudes includes the communicator, the
message and the situation factors (this analysis will only refer to the first two
factors). The communicator factor relates to employee s willingness to change
attitudes because they like and trust their manager (guiding coalition), they can even
tend to adopt attitudes and behaviors of that individual (Ivancevich et al, 2007, P.69).
Within the message factor, the guiding coalition
William Carlos Williams s Poem Marriage
Poems are the best to express thoughts to readers, many writers choose to write
poems to speak their feelings which plain ordinary texts will not do. Three poems
have special ideas about marriage, they are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams,
Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and an untitled one by Apache Song. All three of
them have a central idea of marriage; two people are one individual after marriage,
one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but they carry deep
morals about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all visualize
the bonding between the couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are
three main aspects of poems content, structure, and tone I would discuss about how
the authors uses similar writing styles to bring out the common idea behind. All
contents of the three poems are very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes men
and women as streams and fields and in Marriea Love, Kuan describes them as clays.
Similarly, Song describes the relationship between married couples as solutions to
problem, like, shelter for rain and warmth for coldness. Visualizing helps reader to
understand the author s point of view on marriage. We can see that all three of them
implies that, after a couple is married they become one individual and should not and
cannot be separated. Marriage says that men and women as streams and fields. We
often see them appear very closely and one another cannot be absent. He
Relationship Between Fathers and Sons Essay
Both poems My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke and Those Winter Sundays by
Robert Hayden are poems in which the speaker (a son in both cases) attempts to
explain his complex relationship with his father. It seems that the two poets are
reflecting back in their early lives as young boys and showing different appreciation
toward their father. In my interpretation My Papa s Waltz is about a boyand that is
excited that his father got home to play with him. Only problem is the speakers
father is drunk and it hard to enjoy himself but he held on because the unconditional
lovehe has for him, as the line says The Whiskey on your breath / could make a boy

Also is a sign of being responsible and not indolent.
The impression that I get from My Papa s Waltz is that the boy s father is an
alcoholic and irresponsible. I say this because as the father and the boy were
playing around in the kitchen The unconscious father could of drop a hot pan that
the mother could have been cooking on and cause serious damage. That to me
shows that the father don t really think about the possibilities. On the contrary
Those Winter Sundays Sundays too my father got up early (1) shows that the
father is a hard workingman, that everyday of the week he is up early with
cracked hands that ached / from labor in the weekday weather made (3 4). The
speaker s father is a man that did hard labor to keep heat in the house and also made
sure his son was looking sharp for example, polished my good shoes as well (12).
Overall he was very responsible and loving even though the speaker didn t think so at
the time seeing that he didn t show appreciation and no one ever thanked him (5).
When it comes to the mood the speakers portray different attitudes towards their
fathers. In My Papa s Waltz the speakers mood is positive while the poet reflect
back negatively and in Those Winter Sundays the speaker attitude is like whatever
and negative while the poet also reflect back an realizes that his father was a
Essay on Mountaintop Mining and Environmental and

Mountaintop mining has been practiced in the United States since the 1960s,
primarily in the Appalachian Mountains. The process involves removing all tress
from the site, then the topsoil, and then using explosives to remove the remaining
soil and rock to reveal coal. The coal is removed and processed, and then the
mountaintop is reclaimed with soil or an appropriate substitute, and sometimes
replanted.6 While mountaintop mining in the Appalachians is only a small
percentage of coalproduced by the United States, the issues surrounding it are
complex and wide ranging. Some of the many issues raised with mountaintop mining
are: high unemployment (due to the lessened man power needed to operate the
mining machinery), deforestation,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Recently, they have rejected permits that would contaminate or destroy water sources,

regulation are the coal companies mining in the Appalachians. Some of the biggest
players in the industry are Alpha Natural Resources (formerly known as Massey

environmental standards than others. In West Virginia the non profit Coal River

but on the other their very livelihoods are
The Greatest Composer Of All Time
Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Hayden are great
composer, but Beethoven is the greatest composer of all time. Everyone has heard
the name Beethoven before. Why is he one of the greatest composer of all time?
The answer is easy. He influenced so many composer after he died. Just like how
Michael Jackson influenced other artistes when he passed away. He made a huge
impacted during the classical period and to world. His music were influenced into
the next centuries, and he s considered the best composer of all time.
Ludwig Van Beethovenwas born December 1770 in Boon, Germany. His date of
birth is unclassified because he was baptism on 17th of December, but it makes
more sense that he was born in the 16th of December. He is one of seven children,
and only three survived. That aslo include him. His father and grandfather were
both musicians. Johann Van Beethoven is Beethoven father. He was decent singer
in an Elector choir, but he was more into drinking. He would train Beethoven day
and night in harsh way because he wanted Beethoven to be the next Mozart. During

Not merely the administrator, every member of the team must possess sound
interpersonal skills and business savvy required to manage the organization
prudently. Apart from relationship management, leadership, professionalism,
human resource management, and business expertise are few other key
competencies that are required for a leader aspiring to advance in the field of
healthcare. (Karen Gordon Sosby, personal communication, September 17, 2015)
Leadership style Competitive and challenging business environment is in every
field, and the health care industry is no exception. An administrator requires to
adapt to a specific leadership style to meet the demands of the situation and face
the challenges of the organization. As a leader, one must focus on the needs of
employees, before on pondering his or her own needs. Servant leadership is a style
recommended to emerge eminent leaders where it expects to serve the people

Expansion Of Influenza
For lack of better words Influenza is a nasty little bugger , it can make you sick for
up to a week and it leaves its victim lying in bed until their better; but nowadays we
can get a simple vaccine to keep this pest at bay, but back in the day it wasn t this
simple. Influenza spreads very fast, that hasn t changed, but how we deal with it has.
When influenzawas first a major problem spreading from an Asian to a European
environment it had many opportunities to continue spreading, and it did. This was
because of the many trade routes in the areas, and the growing population in both
areas. Influenza continued its expansion by making the host cough and sneeze
spreading it through the air. Influenza was not a unique pandemic, but many others
The Problem Of Computer Programming Education
Through the Educate to Innovate Initiative, the current administration has made the
case that investments in STEM programs (science, technology, engineering and math)
are essential to maintaining the status of international competitiveness. But since the
start of the program in 2009, the importance of computerprogramming educationis
still being misunderstood and inadequately addressed. Though the administration has
tried to get more technology into schools, it s failed to teach kids what could really
help them compete internationally which is coding. Computer programmingis the
driving force behind all forms of computer technology. Without programmers, these
machines could be more innovative and capable than mankind could ever imagine,
but if there is no one to program, there is no way for computers to perform needed
tasks.
Though technology has become such a key point in the national discussion on
education, computer literacy is still sometimes confused with computer science.
While computer literacy refers to word processing and knowledgeable use of the
Internet, computer science refers to the study of algorithmic processes, hardware and
software designs, and ways to impact society with technological innovation. A general
computer science curriculum largely consists of critical thinking, problem solving,
and logic the skills that American students will need in order to compete for the best
jobs, whether or not they become programmers (James, 2013).

Operation Defensive Shield
Israel apprehended West Bank and Gaza after the Six Day war in 1967. Since then,
over a phase of 20 years of vocation, drastic modifications in the Palestinian
economy had been introduced by the occupation. Those changes were made for the
demolition of the Palestinian parsimony and the exploitation of assets for the
occupation economy. Over this time, Palestinians were considered a minority due to
the major economic issue brought on by the Israeli s settlement. More than one
billion dollars worth of Palestinian infrastructure has been destroyed by Israeli forces
and more than 200 million dollars of this has been donor financed. Since the start of
the Intifada the Palestinian GDP has decreased by 50% and agricultural losses have

Ultimately, Israel launched Operation Defensive Shield and took over the West
Bank as of April 2002. This operation, according to YNET news , is A large scale
military campaign conducted by the Israeli Defence Forces, after a series of
terrorist attacks launched against Israel. The operation, which was held in the midst
of the al Aqsa Intifada, was meant to give the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) renewed
control over the West Bank, thereby enabling it to thwart terror attack on Israel. The
months following the eruption of the al Aqsa Intifada saw the Palestinian terror
organizations carry out numerous suicide attacks in Israel. The government s
reaction to the murderous onslaught escalated over time and ranged from financial
sanctions, through prohibiting Palestinians from entering Israel and bombing
Palestinian government buildings, to the targeted assassinations of terrorist none
of which seemed to dent the terror groups relentless attacks. As of March 2004,
one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in Israeli history occurred when Two
terrorists disguised as Israeli soldiers intruded the Ashdod Port and detonated
massive explosives. Both blasts took place mere yards of the port s ammonia

Ethical Values And Moral Values
Ethics in a sense is everything we hold dear to us, meaning our moral values. The
development of figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical
evaluation. By not developing ones own moral values, you are simply taking the
route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by your family or society. You re
accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However, this has its
setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own
personal freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culturewithout question,
then those viewpoints are not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions
is that your reasons or responses will be lacking understanding. Moral principles
are might be absolute or might not, even so we apply them to situations may be
different and require you to evaluate the situation at hand, which is hard to do if
you ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is that without
taking the time to question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose
intellectual growth. You do not gain new understandings of the ever changing
world around you; you become stuck in a stagnant world, which is not reality. I
think this class will help me look at moral judgments in a more logical and ethical
way. I have already realized from this class that I have based my ethical decisions on
my emotion and the way I feel which is only one form of ethics. This class will go

Habit 7 Teens
In the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey explains 7 things
teens need to live a good, open, and successful life. The author took 7 concepts
teens don t do and made them easy to understand and learn to do. He manages to
capture his audience s attention by sharing stories of other teens that we could
easily relate to. Habit 1 is Be Proactive. This means that we need to accept the
reality that we have the power to choose how we respond to the circumstances in our
lives. We are ultimately responsible for our own lives, our actions, and our attitudes.
Don t do anything that won t get you somewhere. Habit 1 is all about focusing on the
important things. I will spend more time on trying to do things that are proactive.

It s the fulfillment of the 1st and 2nd habit. The habit is personally about time
management. Habit 3 also shows us to eliminate unimportant things in our life. So
without the unimportant things in our life we will be able to focus on the
important things in our life. I will focus more on the important things then the
unimportant things. Habit 4 focuses on making everyone happy. The point of habit
4 is think win win. This means instead of competing to make one team a loser,
compete to make both teams feel as a winner. This will make everyone happy
instead of just 1 team. It feels good when we make one team lose. But it feels even
better when both teams feel as a winner. I can focus less on myself and more on
others. Habit 5, seek first to understand then to be understood. In other words listen
before you talk. A mirror is a great example. It does not give advice neither does it
judge. Instead of only listening with your ears also watch and get notes from body
language. When you give feedback it is a very important part of wanting to be
understood. I will instead of trying to prove myself first I will seek

Regulatory Rule Governing Indian Power Sector
REGULATORY REGIME GOVERNING INDIAN POWER SECTOR
Independence of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission has continued
indefinable in reality. Scopes to restoration the current regulatory structure may be
discovered with the aim to keep the State government at arm s length from the tariff
setting application. It is necessary that the current controlled structure of the
distribution sector be transformed and competition be stimulated. One of the ways to
obvious this is to distinct posture and gratified businesses of the distribution segment.
Regulatory commissions should alert the consumers about the rationale of tariff
setting and notify them before every tariff amendment. Every concerned investor
should admit the economic significance at a national level of the present crisis.
Political will of the governments (i.e., State and Central) is vital to overwhelmed
many of the challenges.
Discoms in many States are earning massive losses due to increasing, unimpeded
regulatory assets. It is essential that the States explore ways to settle them in a time
bound manner without further postponement. The regulatory commissions need to
plan ways to keep the State governments at arm s length from the State utilities. The
governments should effort to attract greater contribution of private discoms.
The Electricity Act, 2003 defines the duty of a distribution licensee to produce and
maintain an efficient, synchronized and economical distribution system in his area to

1 Sustainable development: the interaction of social Environmental and Economic
factors (3)
The purpose of the report inspired by the above statement made on the Brundtland
Report, 1987, is to link the concept of environmental sustainability to architecture and
in particular in the context of city planning, building design and materials. The topic
was chosen by the author as is in direct relation with his discipline of Civil and
structural engineering.
The way buildings are constructed and decommissioned has a major impact on the
environment as well as the society itself. The incorporation of sustainability in the
architectural design can help the creation of self sufficient, stable, economically
viable communities. The ecological footprint of a structure in terms of an individual
unit or a whole set of units composing a metropolis, should not have a detrimental
effect to the already heavily affected by humans natural environment (4).
There is a way through smart design, innovative thinking and technological
innovation to not only limit the detrimental effects of the construction but also make
a positive contribution to environment and cater in a better way for the people s
physical and psychological wellbeing(4, 5).
Several paradigms in the main body of the report do demonstrate that the
Patriotism In Julius Caesar
Effectiveness of Patriotism
Being Patriotic is a great thing until it goes bad. Over the course of the play The
Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Brutus was a very impactful character. He was one of the
main leaders of the conspiracy that killed Caesar. Brutus had a wife named Portia,
who later in the play died. After the conspiracy killed Caesar, there were two
speeches spoken one from Brutus and the other from Antony who was Caesar s right
hand man. Soon after the death of Caesar, Brutus and Antony fought in a battle
against each other. The battle lead to countless people left dead and Brutus kills
himself. During the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar written by William
Shakespeare Brutus patriotism caused him to make decisions based on the good of
Rome, not thinking of others thoughts, or opinions including his own. Brutus made
an overwhelming amount of decisions based on the good of Rome, not
contemplating how it could affect or hurt himself or those around him. One
example of this is after Brutus and the conspirators killed Brutus he gave a speech.
In this speech he said, If then that friend demand why/ Brutus rose against Caesar,
this is my answer: Not/ that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. (3.2.20
22). This quote is saying that the reason Brutus killed Caesar was not because he
disliked him, but because he thought it was for the good of Rome. Brutus made this
decision solely based on patriotism. He never thought about the effects or
consequences it
Laundry Detergents As A Cleansing Agent
Introduction
Laundry detergents are a cleansing agent that is widely used in the industry to clean
laundry. The term detergent refers to mixtures of chemical compounds including
Alkyl Sulphonates, which are similar to soap but less affected by hard water
(Farlex, 2014). Like soap, detergent increases the ability of water to penetrate fabric
and break down greases and dirt, however they are derived from organic acids rather
than fatty acids (Mifflin, 2005). A detergentis an ion or molecule that contains both
polar and nonpolar components. The polar component allows the detergent to
dissolve in the water, whereas the nonpolar component solubilizes greasy materials
that are the usual target of the cleaning process. Their molecules then surround the
particles of grease and dirt, allowing them to be carried away thus leaving your
clothes clean. This EEI explores the performance of two different laundry powders
(Fab and Woolworths select Home brand) in different types of water; ranging from
soft to hard. These detergents were compared and analysed in different types of water
from varying locations to determine whether water hardness has an effect on the
cleaning ability of detergents, and whether products should be specifically formulated
depending on the type of water.
Basic laundry powders
Laundry detergents such as Fab and Woolworths Select Home brand are composed of
many elements that each play important roles in the laundry process depending on
the cleaning tasks

Dna Damage, Repair, And Dna Methylation Essay
Introduction:
Modification of damaged DNA seems to be an understudied subject, there is much to
understand on the restoration of DNA damage, repair and DNA methylation.
Genomic DNA can be modified by methylation but much of it is affected on a gene
when silenced. When epigenetic modification has been implicated with cancer and
aging it causes DNA methylation to also have an impact on the double strand of
DNA analysis. Modification as such provoke deteriorating changes like aging found
in multicellular organisms and DNA damage may magnify biochemical pathways
that regulate a cells growth or control DNA replication with DNA repair. In the
article DNA Damage, Homology Directed Repair, and DNA Methylation written by
Concetta Cuozzo, Antonio Porcellini, Tiziana Angrisano, et al. they hypothesize how
DNA damage and gene silencing may induce a DNA double strand break within a
genome as well as when DNA methylation is induced by homologous recombination
that it may somewhat mark its reparation through a DNA segment and protect its
cells against any unregulated gene expression that may be followed by DNA damage.
The experiments used to demonstration how gene conversion can modify methylation
pattern of repaired DNA and when that occurs methylation is able to silence the
recombined gene. When exploring the molecular mechanisms that link DNA damage
and the silencing gene then there is an induced double strand break that can be found
at a specific location or DNA sequence in where the
Business, Sustainability And The Natural Environment
Business, Sustainability and the Natural Environment, Daniel Katz During the past
25 years, awareness of the environment has increased tremendously. Non profit
organizations look beyond institutional goals, and instead, try to find a shared vision
that works for everyone in the society. Our society needs to stop consuming as if we
have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for the world we live in because the
natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need
to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example, Netflix
never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing
consumer market, they have done just that. Also, NGO s sometimes have to partner
with bigger for profit companies in order to target a larger consumer base, thus,
solidifying the fact that the for profit and non profit sector have to team together in
order to sustain the environment in which we inhabit. Business, Sustainability and
Poverty, Jacqueline Novogratz This plenary begins by stating that a financial crisis
occurs when people in the markets do not trust each other. Trust is what makes a
society fair. Corruption flourishes upon weaknesses in economic, political, and social
institutions, and this diverts economic growth by eroding the quality of public goods.
In this age, income equality has increased across countries due to globalization and
technology; however, income inequality within countries has increased as

America is because they are fleeing the cats, and supposedly there are no cats in
America. The reason that they are fleeing from the cats is because the cats represent

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integrated Circuits
INTRODUCTION TO VLSI
Very large scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by
combining thousands of transistor based circuits into a single chip. VLSI began in
the 1970s when complex semiconductor and communication technologies were
being developed. The microprocessor is a VLSI device. The term is no longer as
common as it once was, as chips have increased in complexity into the hundreds of
millions of transistors.
Overview
The first semiconductor chips held one transistor each. Subsequent advances added
more and more transistors, and, as a consequence, more individual functions or
systems were integrated over time. The first integrated circuits held only a few
devices, perhaps as many as ten diodes, transistors, resistors and capacitors, making it
possible to fabricate one or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Integrated circuits improve system characteristics in several critical ways. ICs have
three key advantages over digital circuits built from discrete components: Size.
Integrated circuits are much smaller both transistors and wires are shrunk to
micrometer sizes, compared to the millimeter or centimeter scales of discrete
components. Small size leads to advantages in speed and power consumption, since
smaller components have smaller parasitic resistances, capacitances, and inductances.
Speed. Signals can be switched between logic 0 and logic 1 much quicker within a
chip than they can between chips. Communication within a chip can occur hundreds
of times faster than communication between chips on a printed circuit board. The
high speed of circuits on chip is due to their small size smaller components and wires
have smaller parasitic capacitances to slow down the

Australian Shield Laws
With more and more wealthy Australians bringing journalists and publishers to court
to demand the revelation of sources shield laws are becoming increasingly important.
Shield laws can be defined as an array of laws that offer protection to journalists or
other communicators who otherwise face a disobedient contempt charge for refusing
to reveal a confidential source. In particular, with the introduction of shield laws in
Western Australia journalists professional ethics have taken priority over the
demands of the law. Although these shield laws provide some protection for
journalists and their informants in WA there are still some weaknesses in terms of
how these laws are interpreted in court. Furthermore, shield laws are significant in

In particular, sustaining the right to protect sources. These ethics are important to
journalists as it creates this trust between contacts and journalists allowing for
significant public interest stories to break. This can be depicted in the case
mentioned before between Steve Pennells and Gina Rinehart. When Pennells won
this case Justice Pritchard outlined that the disclosure of the source would
constitute a breach of a fundamental ethical obligation of journalists to not disclose
sources. This judgement was encouraging for journalists as it defended the
importance of their ethical obligations, specifically the right to protect sources and
the right for sources to trust journalists with information they gave them
confidentially. Without this trust between journalists and sources many public
interest stories would not arise as it means that sources with genuine public
interest concerns about corruption and abuses of power will think twice before
contacting a journalist. They would also not arise due to journalists fears of either
having to reveal confidential information or face dire consequences for not
disclosing these private details. This can be portrayed in 2012 as Fairfax
journalists, Nick Mckenzie, Richard Baker and Philip Dorling were ordered by the
NSW Supreme Court to reveal to a Chinese Australian businesswoman their
confidential sources for a series of stories on her relationship with a federal Labor
MP. To expand on this story further The Age published two articles alleging Ms Liu
paid Joel Fitzgibbon $150,000 as part of a campaign to cultivate him as an agent of
political and business influence . The articles were supported by quotes from 135
pages of documents said to be her personal and business records, including a list of
money paid for unstated purposes to 22 people, including Mr Fitzgibbons. This

map and figured out where the rollercoasters were. My dad had to run to catch up
to me and keep me from getting in line by myself. I didn t know why, I was eleven
years old I could ride on the rollercoaster and my brothers couldn t I was basically an
adult now. I could do anything, or so I thought.
My Dad and I walked up to the line of the first rollercoaster that we came across.
Over the line there was a gigantic sign that read The Diamondback , my stomach
sank. The reality finally hit me, I was about to get on this and go 100 miles per
hour and get turned us upside down. All sorts of images filled my head. Images of
me flying off as we went around the turn or falling out

The growth of the soaps and detergents category needs to be viewed on a very high
base in the previous year which saw price increases linked to commodity cost
inflation. During the year under review, the prices of products, particularly the
detergents segment, were reduced taking into account the reduction in commodity
prices. The segmental margin of this category was lower by 100 bps (one per cent)
linked to the volatility in commodity costs in the initial part of the year and the
actions taken to defend the company s leadership position in the face of heightened
competitive activity. While the company is the undisputed market leader in this
category, it continues to focus on the challenge of winning back its lost market share

Taking a Look at Progeria
Infirmed aging is having a condition of weakness or illness that usually lasts for a
long time and is caused especially by old age. Progeria is the severe disease of the
infirmed aging branch and is defined as a progressive genetic disorder that causes
children to age rapidly, beginning in their first two years of life. Progeria only
affects one in eight million people in the world. The term Progeria is gathered from
the Greek word geras, meaning old age. Children with progeria usually don t show
any signs when they are birthed but in a year or so their growth rate starts to slow
down. Children who are affected by progeria develop a non identical appearance
characterized by baldness, a small pinched nose, and a small face and jaw relative...

Every moment, second, minute, hour, and day go by you get older. You cannot stop
aging no matter what you do. It is something that everything that lives does.
The older you get the more medical problems you have. The older you get the
more you body starts to break down. That s why it is so important to maintain a
healthy life style while you are growing. If you didn t take care of your body while
you was young it will be hard to maintain good health when you are older. Eating
the right foods, staying active, and taking vitamins are three simple steps to
keeping the body in good shape. When you are young you do want to live in the
moment, but that is only because it is human nature. You are supposed to learn from
you mistakes while you are taking chances each day. If you want your body to age
healthy you already know what you have to do.
It takes an older person a long time to build their immune system as well as heal
bones like younger people. Because of the aging of the body when an old person
fall it takes longer to recover and some older people don t recovery from their falls.
Which leaves them handicap and people would have to check up on them daily.
Older people have more things to worry such as getting around on their on, having
medical bills all the time, and feeling lonely. Infirmed again has a lot to do with the

Pan s Labyrinth Themes
Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane A child s imagination is the most powerful
weapon he or she can be armed with and it is within Guillermo Del Toro s
captivating and Academy Award winning film, Pan s Labyrinth that we are
presented with this concept as well as themes of existentialism and duality. Various
motifs such as; brutality, innocence, childhood and war, allow Del Toro to
construct two worlds that are all too real and very similar for one young girl. Set
in Spain 1944 during a time when people are forced to choose between their beliefs
and their survival, Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) is compelled to choose her faith in
fantasies over her hope in humanity. Ofelia is in a battle of good vs. evil vs.
innocence and must realize that all three cannot thrive. The opening and ending
scenes of Del Toro s film show Ofelia s birth, death and rebirth while simultaneously
providing the answers to the frequent philosophical questions Del Toro exhibited. The

At this stage of the movie, the faun character is completely rejuvenated and is with
Ofelia but is fixated on opening the labyrinth s portal. The faun s transformation
from old to young was done intentionally so that Ofelia s character could be judged
properly. It is much harder to say no when temptation presents itself in a beautiful
form. Ofelia s good nature and pure heart would be revealed in this moment and
this was something del Toro wanted to exemplify. Ending a film with a child
dying is disturbing however; del Toro chooses to make her death about redemption
since she regained her innocence through death (i.e. rebirth). Ofelia would be born
again and assume her role as Princess of the fantasy realm she desperately desired
to be apart of. The final shot of Ofelia mirrors the opening shot of the film but this
time, blood drips down and out of her nose while the nostalgic song plays softly,

Seeing Through the Wall The de Young museum visit was definitely a retreat which
allowed me to escape from daily coursework for several hours; most importantly, it is
a decent place to explore Latin American artworks, especially the Teotihuacan mural
fragments, that we discussed in lectures. Both the elaborate setting and authentic
displays in the gallery have contributed to create a satisfactory space for viewers to
think and to observe the Teotihuacan cultural context. Crossing a mid sized gallery
that exhibits native American artworks, a dark hollow rectangle entrance appears

Larger interactive wall projection will be another good idea to engage the audience. If
the super nature figures depicted in mural paintings can be interpreted into animation,
where they can shake their hands and move their bodies, cooperating with a sound
system may bring them into life. Converging modern technique into displaying
Teotihuacan murals may enhance the efficiency of visual communication as the time
has changed. While establishing some suitable interactive programs can help people
understanding the artworks easier, the gallery has established a pleasant space to

The Man Called Peter Brook
On March 21st, 1925, in London, England, a man named Peter Brook was born.
He was the, younger son of two Russian scientists who came to Britain in 1914 as
refugees, and set up a successful pharmaceuticals company, whose bestselling
product was a laxative called Brooklax . Peter s older brother became a psychiatrist ,
(Peter Brook).Ever since Brook was a little kid, he had a huge interest in film
making. He went to school at Magdalen College of Oxford to read English and
Modern Languages. Brook s first job after graduation was as a writer/director with the
Crown Film Unit. Although theatredirecting was his second career choice, he was
soon employed and early classical productions at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre
were followed by Shakespeare in London and Stratford, (Peter Brook).
Mr. Brook is known for directing theatrical productions, but he didn t start off doing
live entertainment. His first completed project was a movie that he did as an
undergraduate student at Magdalen College Oxford. He made his first film on a
budget of ВЈ250, using redundant sets and some fledgling actors from among his
friends and classmates an early indication of his confidence and his ability to attract
casts and funding,(Peter Brook). According to the New York Times, Brook directed
an amateur adaptation of Laurence Sterne s eighteenth century novel A Sentimental
Journey (1943). From that moment on, little did he know that his career in the theatre
world would take off.
Smoking And Smoking
According to CDC in 2015, 15.1% of all adults of which 16.7% of males, 13.6% of
females were current cigarette smokers. Researchers and health professionals use e
cigarettes as harm reduction tools. In a study, long term smokers who had no
intention in quitting after using e cigarettes for a period of time begun to see them as
a healthier alternatives to smokingtobaccocigarettes and some were willing to switch
to e cigarettes permanently (Caponnetto et al. 2013). Another survey showed that
80% of people using e cigarette agreed that smoking e cigarette is the less harmful
and healthier replacement for traditional cigarette. (Polosa et al.2013). Tobacco
Smokingis one of the most important causes of death in the world and, therefore, the
World Health Organization and the Food and Drug Administration support the claim
that e cigarettes are a much safer and healthier replacement product to tobacco
cigarettes. Perceptions and attitudes towards smoking influence greatly people s
behaviors towards e cigarettes. The majority of research that has been conducted so
far is on adolescents and young adults and it is mainly qualitative research that has
gathered information on their perceptions on the matter through surveys. Young
adults and adolescents are shown to be less willing to quit smoking and more
willing to simply reduce it especially since they have the perception that e cigarette is
not harmful (Camenga et al. 2015). A study conducted by Barrington Trimis et al.,

Comparing The Mercator And The Goode s Projection
Laura Hebert argues the maps have to distort reality because it is hard to represent
our sphere planet onto a flat surface like a map. This shows it s not possible to
perfectly represent the Earth because the Earth is a three dimensional object yet,
maps show the Earth on a two dimensional surface.
List and describe some of the different types of map projections that the article
describes, and what each is meant to show the viewer.
There are four map projections in Article Two. There is the Mercator, the Peters,
the Robinson, and the Goode s Projections. First, The Mercator map changes the
actual size of the land to create a straight line between two points. It provides an
efficient way for navigators to sail the seas. Second, the Peters Projection shows a
correct representation of the sizes of land mass. The shapes of the countries are out
of proportion since the top and bottom of the map is stretched horizontally and the
middle of the map is stretched vertically. Thus, attempting to replace the Mercator
map by having a more accurate way of showing how we see the Earth. Next, the
Robinson Projection shows how it achieves accuracy in shape, area, distance, and
direction but, it isn t absolutely correct in a certain category. Lastly, the Goode s
Projection is similar to the Robinson Projection since, the map maker tried to include
accuracy in all four domains but, it is not totally correct in every single domain. ...

Laura Hebert supports her argument by stating mapmakers can alternate how the
world appears by displaying Earth differently. This shows someone s point of view of
Earth can change. The author also mentions the appearance of a map can be wrong
without anyone noticing since; there isn t a map that perfectly represents Earth in
size, shape, direction, and distance.
A Report On The Show Stoppers
In light of the facts provided the show stoppers that stem to mind are in relation to
the dismissal of the underwriter from the syndicate; depth of analyst research; low
expense ratio; and timing. Ordinarily, where an underwriter is involved in a public or
private offering the importance of undertaking a proper due diligenceis paramount as
it provides a complete defense, against a strict liability, under section 11 and 12 of the
Securities Act 1933.
There isn t enough time to ensure enough is done to establish due diligence defence,
and as for the low expense ratio in comparison to the industry this would be the
primary show stopper, in conjunction with the timing of dismissal of the other
underwriter, and heightened liability exposure risk section 11 and 12 of the
Securities Act 1933. Summarily, where the low expense ratio red flag is concerned
the court in WorldCom (discussed further below) mentioned that a jury would entitled
to find the discrepancy sufficient to have a triggered a duty to investigate the
reliability of the figures underlying the ratio, notwithstanding that those figures had
been audited. It would not be foreseeable for the client to undertake this process
within the 72 hours available, and avail itself of the due diligence defense.
Further Analysis: due diligence
Given that the issuer is a WKSi, there is a heightened due diligence risk where the
offering is a shelf registration. The SEC did not intend that Rule 176 alter the
fundamental nature
Racial Discrimination Among African Americans Essay
Racial discrimination is to treat someone differently because of their race. According
to the Civil Rights Act in 1964, it is illegal to racially discriminate against someone in
any workplace in the United States. Unfortunately, that does not stop many
companies from racially discriminating against minorities. This paper, explores racial
discriminationamong African Americans in the workplace. According to the United
States Department of Labor, in 2015, the unemployment rate for the United States
averaged 5.3 percent. The rate for African Americans was 9.6 percent, but rates varied
among the states. African Americans have nearly doubled the nations rate of
unemployment, which is why I think that it is important to cover this topic. There are
different types of racial discrimination that African Americans are experiencing in
American workplaces.
Hagelskamp and Hughes found that minorities are still undergoing these
discernments that range from overt discrimination in the way jobs are structured,
promotions occur, and pay distributed (institutional discrimination) to interpersonal
prejudices expressed in comments, slurs, and the patterns of social interactions
(2014). This means depending on your race, you may not get the job you desire or
work promotion you need to support your family. It has been over 50 years since the
Civil Rights Act passed that says, title VII prohibits employment discrimination based
on race, color, religion, sex and national origin (U.S. Equal

The Article, The Impact of a School s Literacy Program on a Primary Classroom ,
by David Ambrose Roy Costello examines his school s literacy program impact on on
his teaching style and student learning. The author begins his article with his article
wit
It may be concluded that the reasons behind Costello s school having to choose a
reading program was that his school had low test score that was made public.
Costello stated, schools fell under scrutiny as test results were made public and
accountability resulted in search for improved school method of teaching(72). The
reading program that his school choose to implemented was the works of Fountas and
Pinnell so consequently Costello article mainly focuses on the Fountas and Pinnell.

I THE GODS
The Greeks believed that the Earth was here before the gods; the gods did not create
the universe, instead the universe made the gods. So the heaven and earth were the
first parents, after them came the titans, and following them came the gods and
goddesses. The titans were known to be big and of great strength. The one titan who
over ruled the rest was Cornus, also known as Saturn. He reigned until Zeus his son
dethroned him. Zeus was amongst the twelve Olympians, the other eleven included
his two brothers: Poseidon, and Hades, their sister: Hestia, Hera, Ares, Athena,

CUPID AND PSYCHE,8 BREIF TALES OF LOVERS
Psyche was the youngest of three daughters born to a king. Between the three of
them, she surpassed both her sisters in beauty. Psyche was even compared to
Venus. Many things that once belonged to the goddess were given to her a simple
mortal. Venus was mad, and sent her son, cupid to make her fall for the ugliest,
most despicable creature on earth; but before he could do that, he fell in love with
her. Cupid had told Apollo the situation, and when Psyche s father went to go seek
the oracle because no husband was found for his beautiful daughter, Apollo told
him that she had to wait on a hilltop and, there a winged serpent would make her
his. So she wept and with sorrow she waited at the top of the hill, while doing so,
she felt like she was suspended from the land and taken to a beautiful garden.
When she woke up the next day, she heard voiced that spoke to her, yet she saw no
one, the voices led her to a beautiful palace, and told her it was all hers. There her
unseen husband dwelt. One day he warned her about her sisters and how she should
be kept unseen
Summary Of Elmire In Tartuffe
Elmire in Moliere s Tartuffe is married to Orgon, the fool of the play. She is a
young woman who came from money as well. She is intelligent, reasonable, and
witty and is able to use her charm to influence Tartuffe and Orgon. Elmire is the step
mother to Orgon s children Damis and Mariane and she cares about them and their
well being, especially about helping Mariane avoid marrying Tartuffe. In act four
scenes four through eight Elmire has taken it upon herself to hide Orgon under a
table, seduce Tartuffe, and prove to Orgon once and for all what a terrible person
Tartuffe is. Elmire s objectives in this scene are to seduce Tartuffe to prove to
Orgon what he s really like. She is also working to disguise her disgust toward
Tartuffe as he tries to sleep with her in the scene when Orgon doesn t come out, so
there is also to avoid and evade as well, though that all must be disguised to keep
up the charade. Elmire s goal in the scene overall is to prove that Tartuffe is a bad
man and to persuade Orgon to finally come to his senses and kick him out of their
house. There are many obstacles that Elmire faces throughout this scene. First, she
has to convince Tartuffe that her earlier remarks about finding him disgusting were
just an act to keep him from trouble, and that her new outlook is not a farce being
used to trick him, this is where the seductionand her intelligence and wit must come
into play. Also, she has to keep Orgon under the tableduring the beginning of the scene

Summary And Analysis Essay.pdf

  • 1. Summary And Analysis Essay Crafting a "Summary and Analysis Essay" can be a challenging endeavor that requires a combination of critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in summarizing the main points of the source material but also in providing a thoughtful analysis that goes beyond surface-level observations. Firstly, summarizing requires a keen eye for identifying key ideas while omitting irrelevant details. Striking the right balance between brevity and completeness can be a delicate task. A summary should capture the essence of the original text without losing its nuances, which demands a deep understanding of the source material. The analysis component adds another layer of complexity. It requires the writer to go beyond mere description and delve into the significance of the ideas presented. This involves examining the author's intent, evaluating the effectiveness of their arguments, and considering the broader implications of the content. Constructing a coherent analysis demands critical thinking skills and the ability to draw connections between different elements of the text. Moreover, maintaining a clear and concise writing style is crucial. Expressing complex ideas in a straightforward manner can be challenging, especially when trying to balance the need for depth and clarity. Achieving a well-structured essay that flows logically from summary to analysis requires careful planning and organization. In conclusion, composing a "Summary and Analysis Essay" is a multifaceted task that demands a combination of skills. From distilling key points to providing insightful analysis, the process can be intellectually demanding. However, with careful attention to detail and a structured approach, one can navigate the complexities of this essay type successfully. • 2. The Release Of India From The British Grip Of Power Seemed The release of India from the British grip of power seemed to be a historic victory, but it soon posed problems for the inhabitants the subcontinent. Ever since the formation of Pakistan and India, the East Pakistani population saw a cultural divide between themselves and their Western counterpart. Although there were numerous other factors that had contributed to this difference, language was the one critical catalyst for Bengali self determination. The formation of Bangladeshi nationalism began with the Bengali Language movement, which was of key significance because it unified the Bengali people under the banner of nationalism. Historical events leading up to the Bangladesh Liberation War, such as the Indo PakistanWar and Operation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the goal of avoiding religious bloodbath, what seemed to be a simple, quick fix solution for state separation posed a series of problems for Pakistan. The problem lay in the fact that there were two completely different nations that were forced to coalesce into one state. This dilemma can be seen with the fundamental differences between West and East Pakistan. Although East Pakistan contained a little over half (54.8%) of the total Pakistani population, it only took up about an eighth (15.1%) of the total land area. However, the disparities between the East and West do not end with land distribution. In both foreign aid and per capita income, West Pakistan dominated their Eastern counterpart. This economic disparity persisted during the ten years of Pakistani independence, and the per capita income actually worsened over a ten year period (between 1950 1960). The offices of the central Pakistani government were all located in the west, and recruitment for civil, military, and administrative positions were predominantly given to West Pakistanis. However, the key difference between West and East Pakistan lay in culture. Each respective region contained two spheres of peoples that were vastly different in regards to attitudes and ambitions. The West was a land of mountains and deserts, and its people mimicked the solidity and stability of its geographic features. The West Pakistanis were described to be energetic, and had fierce respect for government,
  • 3. Gullah Culture Research Paper The Gullah/Geechee people are a group of Black Americans from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The Gullah/Geechee people are a distinctive group of African Americans that have been the most successful in preserving customs and traditions from their Africa culture. This group has maintained their native tradition and customs in America more than any other African American group. According to National Geographic An environmental impact statement published in 2005 estimated that 200,000 people of Gullah and Geechee heritage live along the southeast coast (Otterbourg, 2014, p 11). • 4. How Student Can Use Memory Concepts That Will Improve... Having memories impacts our lives greatly without them society would not be as it is today. According to Grison, Heatherton, and Gazzaniga(2015), memory is the capacity to acquire and retain information and skills. Not all experiences will be equally remembered, some events will leave no memory, others will be remembered but later forgotten, and other times a memorycan be remembered for a lifetime. I will be looking into how student can use memory concepts that will improve student s grades if they follow it correctly. And also talk about my personal study habits and how I can improve them so I can get a more positive result in my classes. There are three phases of memory; which are encoding, storage, and retrieval. According to Calvillo (2014); encoding is the processing of information so that it can be stored, storage is the retention of encoded representations over time, and lastly retrieval is the act of recalling or remembering stored information when it is needed. When students use these three phases in school properly it will lead to success in their academic career but if they just do minimal preparation and cut corners it will lead to a stressful time for the student. For example in the encoding process a good student would reread a section until they familiarize themselves with the new information. A bad student would just go over a section once and just keep on going on to new information even though they have not familiarized themselves with the new
  • 5. Postmodern Deconstructionism In Alice Walker s Everyday Use No matter what age or generation, people live in a world filled with opposition and conflict. Though this sounds harsh and unforgiving, this description is completely and utterly accurate. In society, people run into all sorts of oppositions without realizing it at all. For example, a person could walk into a darkened room and flip on the light without stopping to ponder the conflict between light and dark . These examples in our daily lives drones on and on from the difference between hot and cold water to the difference between your phone when it is on or off. Though these types of oppositions seem mundane to the average person, to a deconstructionist these distinct concepts are imperative in deconstructing a text. When people describe deconstructing a text, they are referring to the postmodern deconstructionism which focuses mainly on these oppositions and the type of relationship they share. When referring to these oppositions, a deconstructionist uses the word binary which can be found in literature of all types and through all sorts of literary interpretations. Alice Walker s Everyday Use is no exception to this concept with its story focusing on lifestyle and heritage differences displayed between the main characters. Though one can interpret Everyday Use as a story presenting the two binary aspects of a traditional, heritage based, yet impoverished lifestyle and an affluent, modern, yet forward thinking lifestyle as completely opposing concepts, one can
  • 6. Sacrifice Of Iphigenia Iphigenia has been apart of many mythological stories, showing the harshness of people. The myth of Iphigenia was said to be that she was sacrificed for the mistake of her father, Agamemnon. He was setting out to fight in the battle of Troy. The story of Iphigenia represents the sadness and sorrow felt for her and the identification of the struggle she experienced. Both The Sacrifice Of Iphigenia by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and Iphigenia by Alfred, Lord Tennyson use the myth of Iphigenia to indicate that inhumane, egocentric people will sacrifice others in order to defend themselves. After analyzing the poem Iphigenia, it can be acknowledged that Alfred Lord Tennyson takes in deep consideration of Iphigenia s pain. This can be exhibited on line 1 of the poem as Iphigenia says I was cut off from hope in that sad place (Analysis). The tone of the poem could be utilized as woe and upsetting, establishing the fact Iphigenia is in distress and needs help. There is little hope, contemplating the idea nobody will appear to help (Analysis). The quote The stern black bearded kings, with wolfish eyes, waiting to see me die, is used in terms of her sacrifice, exterminating the idea of hope for Iphigenia for the time being (Analysis). Alfred, Lord... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Giovanni Battista Tiepolo uses Iphigenia and her placement to demonstrate that everyone around appeared to witness her being sacrificed. The situation Iphigenia is in can be related back to the mood, creating sadness and pity for her (Analysis). In the poem, Iphigenia appears to be managing the pain and sadness she is feeling due to the situation she was put
  • 7. Analysis Of The Book The Hunger Games In the book The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen is a sixteen year old girl, living under a totalitarian government that demands a boy and a girl to be sacrificed each year. The children are sent into an arena to fight to the death. Katniss is chosen and against all odds she wins, by an act of rebellion, along with the boy tribute from her district. During her time in the arena she helps to fan the flames a rebellion against the government, putting herself and others in danger. However, she ultimately overthrows it. In the television series Alias, SydneyBristow is a graduate student who is secretly a spy for the CIA and a double agent in a terrorist cell called SD 6. Before joining the CIA, Sydney worked for SD 6, under the impression it was the CIA. However, her fiance was killed by the leader of SD 6. This is when she found out that SD 6 was actually a cell of a terrorist group called the Alliance, not the CIA. In retaliation for killing the love of her life, Sydney joins the CIA to sell secrets and thwart the Alliance. Eventually, Sydney destroys the entire Alliance group, SD 6 and all of the other cells. These two women have something in common. Both are iconic tough women. The gap between the airing of Alias and the release of The Hunger Games is relatively short. A mere three years. There is no real time for Katniss to have evolved to the next level tough womanhood. Especially, considering that the book would have been written while the show aired regularly. So,
  • 8. Employee Health Benefits Are Undergoing A Radical Change... Employee health benefits are undergoing a radical change due the passage of the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act in March 2010, employers are having to re evaluating how and if they will be provide health benefits to their employees (Grant Thornton LLP, 2013). According to Dunn, Kirsschner, Livingston (2014) the PPACA has created new complications into collective bargaining negotiations over health insurancebenefits. Especially in firms like GMFC which employs a large numbers of workers (50,000) who must now comply with federal statutes delegated by the PPACA (Dunn, Kirsschner, Livingston, 2014). According to Grant Thornton LLP (2013), Employer sponsored health care plans have been one of the major sources of health insurance in the United States and cover an estimated 149 million people (p. 3). Additionally, the use of health care plans in benefit packages has been a critical factor for employers in recruiting and retaining quality employees (Grant Thornton LLP, 2013). Impediments for GMFC In previous years, many firms struggled to control the escalating health insurance costs while trying to shift the increasing portion of those costs onto their employees. Unfortunately, after PPACA passed, these challenges only became amplified and forced employers to reassess their company s health benefits and bargaining position on health benefits for their employees. GMFC is also feeling the same effects and consequently their management team must now develop and
  • 9. Who Was Responsible For The St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre Why have historians produced such different accounts of who or what was responsible for the St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre? August 25, 1572, marked the infamous day of the St. Bartholomew s Day Massacre. The slaughter of Gaspard de Coligny and several dozen Huguenot leaders, followed by the murder of thousands of people in the streets of Paris that day set off tremendous shock waves throughout Europe. As Barbara Diefendorf points out, the massacre provides a graphic illustration of the savagery of the religious strife in France at that time. The question of responsibility of the Massacre has been much debated amongst contemporaries and historians, each producing a different account of who was responsible. Whether it was Charles IX, Catherine de Medici, the Guise family, and other primary political figures who instigated the attacks, one will never know for certain. This is unfortunately due to the scarcity and the unreliability of the contemporary sources. What this essay will aim to do is highlight some of the main approaches historians have taken to answer the question who was responsible for the St. Bartholomew s Day massacres? and what was responsible for the St. Bartholomew s Day massacres? . I will also attempt to answer why historians have approached their arguments in such a way. I will do this by focusing on the works of J. E. Neale, N. M. Sutherland, Mack Holt, Barbara Diefendorf, Natalie Zemon Davis, Philip and Arlene Jouanna. Through analysing the works

  • 11. Analysis Of Severus Snape Severus Snape is one of the most beloved, and yet most despised, characters in the history of literature. Appearing in the famed novel and movie series, Harry Potter, Snape has touched, warmed, and broken people s hearts since the summer of 1997. When readers first met Snape in Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, he was hated and feared as the teacher with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin. However, it is not until the series nears its end in Harry Potterand the Deathly Hallows, that the readers learn that Severus Snapewas cruel and brutal for many reasons. One of the most controversial topics in literature is whether Snape was a villain or a hero. In agreement with the latter, I believe that Snape was a hero because he was selfless and brave. Severus Snape, although appearing ghastly and gruesome, was extremely selfless. The way he treated Harry Potter and a number of other students made him hated and disliked by many. Snape, a strict and feared teacher, appeared to be a very unpleasant person. However, not everything is what it seems. Behind the monster, was a selfless man who would do anything for love. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the readers learn that Snape did everything in his power to shield Harry from Lord Voldemort. After his death on the second of May in 1998, Snape s memories were transported via tear yo the Pensieve, which animates one s memories. His memories revealed that he loved Harry Potter s mother, Lily. He and Lily

In addition, I will be discussing about 1 artist and there history, following by the materials and techniques he use. The renaissance is also known as the new birth of resurrection. Around the age of 14, da Vinci began a lengthy apprenticeship with an artist named Andrea Del Verrocchio in Florence. Where he then learned a variety of skills like metal working, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting. His earliest known work is a pen and ink drawing of a landscape in the Amo valley. He later started his own work shop. Using his inventive skills, da Vinci sketched war machines such a war chariot with blades mounted on the sides, and armored tank propelled by two men cranking a shaft and even an enormous crossbow that required a small army of men to operate. He believed studying science made him a better artist. Leonardo thought the ability to see was mankind s most important sense and most important organ. Da Vinci began to seriously study anatomy and dissect human and animal bodies. He s drawings of fetus in utero, the heart and vascular system, sex organs and other bone and muscular structures are some of the first human records. In addition, to his investigation da Vinci studied botany, geology, zoology, hydraulics, aeronautics and physics. School Grade English Language Arts And Reading Teacher As a newly graduated teacher, I was beyond grateful when I received that phone call asking if I would like to accept the position as a Hubbard Middle School sixth grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher. After accepting the position, I spent weeks planning for those bright faces to walk into my classroom door and for my world to be forever changed. How would I manage their behavior? Would I allow them to go to the restroom during class? Throughout the summer, leading up to the first day that I would go from a student to a teacher and be in charge of one hundred budding minds and personalities, I lined out everything I needed to have a successful first week. Supplies were sorted into bins, lesson plans were submitted, and copies of get to know you games were made. All through college I heard that the amount I had learned all those year in college wouldn t compare to the amount I would learn my first year teaching. I was prepared to be a life long learner, but I didn t want anything to come as a surprise. Once that door shut, all responsibility would rest on my shoulders. As the year went on, not wanting to jinx myself by saying it out loud, I thought that what they had told me about my first year teaching being the hardest year of my life must have skipped right over me. I was learning a lot, but it was easier than expected. I had amazing relationships with my students, I respected them and that respect was returned, the communication between myself and

Their expedition westward in search of a water passageway across the country has become etched into the annals of history as one of the earliest and greatest examples of American nationalism and survives not only as a compelling story, but also as a piece of living, breathing history. However, upon examining the expedition, several prudent questions arise: Could the expedition truly have known what awaited them out west? Thomas Jefferson , the third President of the United States and the biological father, so to speak, of the Lewis and Clark expedition, had been well interested in finding the shortest most convenient route of communication between the U.S. the Pacific ocean. One notable example of this was with a French botanist by the name of AndrГ© Michaux, who in the year 1793, embarked on an expedition to search for an all water route access across the continent. Michaux was selected by the then Vice President Jefferson because the Frenchman was a trained scientist in botany, astronomy, mineralogy, and ethnology. Jefferson s goals for this expedition was purely geographically based, but also for the sake of knowledge, signifying how curious many Americans were of the then unknown territory. Unfortunately, the expedition didn t end the way Jefferson imagined it would, as Jefferson discovered Michaux to be a secret agent of the French Republic who was then recalled on Jefferson s behalf. Over the following years, Jefferson let the idea sit in the dust, mainly due to political duties, and the mention of an American led expedition across the continent wouldn t be mentioned until the early 1800s. After joining the industry, Taylor identified three fundamental characteristics of the industry that contributed to its inefficiency. Their identification facilitated the development of the basic principles of scientific management, which guided Taylor in eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and efficiency. The elimination of waste functioned because of the systematization of production process, systematization of tools, standardization of work and the wage incentive all created to increase productivity (Tompkins, 2005). Taylor s theory was more applicable to manufacturing industry than the current service industry, hence why it needs modification. He did not foresee the future of service industry and telecommuting jobs. Telecommuting jobs are currently increasing in availability and popularity. These jobs require innovative skills, promote managerial flexibility, autonomy, and use high level of technology, which do not demand physical power like manufacturing industry. Presently, more companies have shifted their focus from extrinsic motivation to intrinsic motivation, which matches the needs of today s workforce. Nowadays companies employ different motivation strategies to motivates their employees. For example, they use job rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment, which Taylor did not mention. Job rotation is a temporary switching of job assignments, while job enlargement is increasing the variety and number of tasks within a job (DuBrin, 2011). Based on the above argument, the theory s problem is its failure to utilize other motivation strategies like job rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The people that are leading the efforts are in charge of making changes that should result in a more effective organization in terms of organizational strength. This step can be compared to Ivancevich et al. s concepts of teams and changing attitudes. The guiding coalition should act as a synergetic team as described by Ivancevich et al. This team should be formed by individuals who are one hundred percent committed and dedicated towards the goal of organizational change. They should be skilled in leadership, problem solving and emotional roles (P. 259). The emotional role will be discussed more in depth when presenting the changing attitudes concept. Forming a guiding coalition is an essential component for undertaking a restructure, reengineer or to retool strategies (Kotter, 1996, P. 52). Kotter mentioned the integrity or trust factor as a main component to altering employees negative attitudes and motivating them towards change. The concept presented by Ivancevich et al. on changing attitudes includes the communicator, the message and the situation factors (this analysis will only refer to the first two factors). The communicator factor relates to employee s willingness to change attitudes because they like and trust their manager (guiding coalition), they can even tend to adopt attitudes and behaviors of that individual (Ivancevich et al, 2007, P.69). Within the message factor, the guiding coalition

Three poems have special ideas about marriage, they are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams, Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and an untitled one by Apache Song. All three of them have a central idea of marriage; two people are one individual after marriage, one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but they carry deep morals about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all visualize the bonding between the couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are three main aspects of poems content, structure, and tone I would discuss about how the authors uses similar writing styles to bring out the common idea behind. All contents of the three poems are very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes men and women as streams and fields and in Marriea Love, Kuan describes them as clays. Similarly, Song describes the relationship between married couples as solutions to problem, like, shelter for rain and warmth for coldness. Visualizing helps reader to understand the author s point of view on marriage. We can see that all three of them implies that, after a couple is married they become one individual and should not and cannot be separated. Marriage says that men and women as streams and fields. We often see them appear very closely and one another cannot be absent. He

Relationship Between Fathers and Sons Essay Both poems My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke and Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden are poems in which the speaker (a son in both cases) attempts to explain his complex relationship with his father. It seems that the two poets are reflecting back in their early lives as young boys and showing different appreciation toward their father. In my interpretation My Papa s Waltz is about a boyand that is excited that his father got home to play with him. Only problem is the speakers father is drunk and it hard to enjoy himself but he held on because the unconditional lovehe has for him, as the line says The Whiskey on your breath / could make a boy dizzy; / But I hung like death: (1 2 3). The Problem Of Computer Programming Education Through the Educate to Innovate Initiative, the current administration has made the case that investments in STEM programs (science, technology, engineering and math) are essential to maintaining the status of international competitiveness. But since the start of the program in 2009, the importance of computerprogramming educationis still being misunderstood and inadequately addressed. Though the administration has tried to get more technology into schools, it s failed to teach kids what could really help them compete internationally which is coding. Computer programmingis the driving force behind all forms of computer technology. Without programmers, these machines could be more innovative and capable than mankind could ever imagine, but if there is no one to program, there is no way for computers to perform needed tasks. Though technology has become such a key point in the national discussion on education, computer literacy is still sometimes confused with computer science. While computer literacy refers to word processing and knowledgeable use of the Internet, computer science refers to the study of algorithmic processes, hardware and software designs, and ways to impact society with technological innovation. A general computer science curriculum largely consists of critical thinking, problem solving, and logic the skills that American students will need in order to compete for the best jobs, whether or not they become programmers (James, 2013). The development of figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical evaluation. By not developing ones own moral values, you are simply taking the route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by your family or society. You re accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However, this has its setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own personal freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culturewithout question, then those viewpoints are not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions is that your reasons or responses will be lacking understanding. Moral principles are might be absolute or might not, even so we apply them to situations may be different and require you to evaluate the situation at hand, which is hard to do if you ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is that without taking the time to question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose intellectual growth. You do not gain new understandings of the ever changing world around you; you become stuck in a stagnant world, which is not reality. I think this class will help me look at moral judgments in a more logical and ethical way. Habit 4 focuses on making everyone happy. The point of habit 4 is think win win. This means instead of competing to make one team a loser, compete to make both teams feel as a winner. This will make everyone happy instead of just 1 team. It feels good when we make one team lose. But it feels even better when both teams feel as a winner. When you give feedback it is a very important part of wanting to be understood. I will instead of trying to prove myself first I will seek

Figure 1 Sustainable development: the interaction of social Environmental and Economic factors (3) The purpose of the report inspired by the above statement made on the Brundtland Report, 1987, is to link the concept of environmental sustainability to architecture and in particular in the context of city planning, building design and materials. The topic was chosen by the author as is in direct relation with his discipline of Civil and structural engineering. The way buildings are constructed and decommissioned has a major impact on the environment as well as the society itself. The incorporation of sustainability in the architectural design can help the creation of self sufficient, stable, economically viable communities. The ecological footprint of a structure in terms of an individual unit or a whole set of units composing a metropolis, should not have a detrimental effect to the already heavily affected by humans natural environment (4). Over the course of the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Brutus was a very impactful character. He was one of the main leaders of the conspiracy that killed Caesar. Brutus had a wife named Portia, who later in the play died. After the conspiracy killed Caesar, there were two speeches spoken one from Brutus and the other from Antony who was Caesar s right hand man. Soon after the death of Caesar, Brutus and Antony fought in a battle against each other. The battle lead to countless people left dead and Brutus kills himself. During the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar written by William Shakespeare Brutus patriotism caused him to make decisions based on the good of Rome, not thinking of others thoughts, or opinions including his own. Brutus made an overwhelming amount of decisions based on the good of Rome, not contemplating how it could affect or hurt himself or those around him. One example of this is after Brutus and the conspirators killed Brutus he gave a speech. In this speech he said, If then that friend demand why/ Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer: Not/ that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. (3.2.20 22). The term detergent refers to mixtures of chemical compounds including Alkyl Sulphonates, which are similar to soap but less affected by hard water (Farlex, 2014). Like soap, detergent increases the ability of water to penetrate fabric and break down greases and dirt, however they are derived from organic acids rather than fatty acids (Mifflin, 2005). A detergentis an ion or molecule that contains both polar and nonpolar components. The polar component allows the detergent to dissolve in the water, whereas the nonpolar component solubilizes greasy materials that are the usual target of the cleaning process. Their molecules then surround the particles of grease and dirt, allowing them to be carried away thus leaving your clothes clean. This EEI explores the performance of two different laundry powders (Fab and Woolworths select Home brand) in different types of water; ranging from soft to hard. These detergents were compared and analysed in different types of water from varying locations to determine whether water hardness has an effect on the cleaning ability of detergents, and whether products should be specifically formulated depending on the type of water. Dna Damage, Repair, And Dna Methylation Essay Introduction: Modification of damaged DNA seems to be an understudied subject, there is much to understand on the restoration of DNA damage, repair and DNA methylation. Genomic DNA can be modified by methylation but much of it is affected on a gene when silenced. When epigenetic modification has been implicated with cancer and aging it causes DNA methylation to also have an impact on the double strand of DNA analysis. Modification as such provoke deteriorating changes like aging found in multicellular organisms and DNA damage may magnify biochemical pathways that regulate a cells growth or control DNA replication with DNA repair. In the article DNA Damage, Homology Directed Repair, and DNA Methylation written by Concetta Cuozzo, Antonio Porcellini, Tiziana Angrisano, et al. they hypothesize how DNA damage and gene silencing may induce a DNA double strand break within a genome as well as when DNA methylation is induced by homologous recombination that it may somewhat mark its reparation through a DNA segment and protect its cells against any unregulated gene expression that may be followed by DNA damage. The experiments used to demonstration how gene conversion can modify methylation pattern of repaired DNA and when that occurs methylation is able to silence the recombined gene. When exploring the molecular mechanisms that link DNA damage and the silencing gene then there is an induced double strand break that can be found at a specific location or DNA sequence in where the

Our society needs to stop consuming as if we have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for the world we live in because the natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example, Netflix never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing consumer market, they have done just that. The reason that they immigrate to America is because they are fleeing the cats, and supposedly there are no cats in America. The reason that they are fleeing from the cats is because the cats represent oppression and the Russians. • 39. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Integrated Circuits INTRODUCTION TO VLSI Very large scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by combining thousands of transistor based circuits into a single chip. VLSI began in the 1970s when complex semiconductor and communication technologies were being developed. The microprocessor is a VLSI device. The term is no longer as common as it once was, as chips have increased in complexity into the hundreds of millions of transistors. Overview The first semiconductor chips held one transistor each. Subsequent advances added more and more transistors, and, as a consequence, more individual functions or systems were integrated over time. The first integrated circuits held only a few devices, perhaps as many as ten diodes, transistors, resistors and capacitors, making it possible to fabricate one or ... ICs have three key advantages over digital circuits built from discrete components: Size. Integrated circuits are much smaller both transistors and wires are shrunk to micrometer sizes, compared to the millimeter or centimeter scales of discrete components. Small size leads to advantages in speed and power consumption, since smaller components have smaller parasitic resistances, capacitances, and inductances. Speed. Signals can be switched between logic 0 and logic 1 much quicker within a chip than they can between chips. Communication within a chip can occur hundreds of times faster than communication between chips on a printed circuit board. The high speed of circuits on chip is due to their small size smaller components and wires have smaller parasitic capacitances to slow down the

Shield laws can be defined as an array of laws that offer protection to journalists or other communicators who otherwise face a disobedient contempt charge for refusing to reveal a confidential source. In particular, with the introduction of shield laws in Western Australia journalists professional ethics have taken priority over the demands of the law. Furthermore, shield laws are significant in maintaining... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In particular, sustaining the right to protect sources. These ethics are important to journalists as it creates this trust between contacts and journalists allowing for significant public interest stories to break. This can be depicted in the case mentioned before between Steve Pennells and Gina Rinehart. When Pennells won this case Justice Pritchard outlined that the disclosure of the source would constitute a breach of a fundamental ethical obligation of journalists to not disclose sources. This judgement was encouraging for journalists as it defended the importance of their ethical obligations, specifically the right to protect sources and the right for sources to trust journalists with information they gave them confidentially. Without this trust between journalists and sources many public interest stories would not arise as it means that sources with genuine public interest concerns about corruption and abuses of power will think twice before contacting a journalist. They would also not arise due to journalists fears of either having to reveal confidential information or face dire consequences for not disclosing these private details. This can be portrayed in 2012 as Fairfax journalists, Nick Mckenzie, Richard Baker and Philip Dorling were ordered by the NSW Supreme Court to reveal to a Chinese Australian businesswoman their confidential sources for a series of stories on her relationship with a federal Labor MP. To expand on this story further The Age published two articles alleging Ms Liu paid Joel Fitzgibbon $150,000 as part of a campaign to cultivate him as an agent of political and business influence . This shows it s not possible to perfectly represent the Earth because the Earth is a three dimensional object yet, maps show the Earth on a two dimensional surface. List and describe some of the different types of map projections that the article describes, and what each is meant to show the viewer. There are four map projections in Article Two. There is the Mercator, the Peters, the Robinson, and the Goode s Projections. First, The Mercator map changes the actual size of the land to create a straight line between two points. It provides an efficient way for navigators to sail the seas. Second, the Peters Projection shows a correct representation of the sizes of land mass. The shapes of the countries are out of proportion since the top and bottom of the map is stretched horizontally and the middle of the map is stretched vertically. Thus, attempting to replace the Mercator map by having a more accurate way of showing how we see the Earth. Next, the Robinson Projection shows how it achieves accuracy in shape, area, distance, and direction but, it isn t absolutely correct in a certain category. A Report On The Show Stoppers In light of the facts provided the show stoppers that stem to mind are in relation to the dismissal of the underwriter from the syndicate; depth of analyst research; low expense ratio; and timing. Ordinarily, where an underwriter is involved in a public or private offering the importance of undertaking a proper due diligenceis paramount as it provides a complete defense, against a strict liability, under section 11 and 12 of the Securities Act 1933. There isn t enough time to ensure enough is done to establish due diligence defence, and as for the low expense ratio in comparison to the industry this would be the primary show stopper, in conjunction with the timing of dismissal of the other underwriter, and heightened liability exposure risk section 11 and 12 of the Securities Act 1933. Summarily, where the low expense ratio red flag is concerned the court in WorldCom (discussed further below) mentioned that a jury would entitled to find the discrepancy sufficient to have a triggered a duty to investigate the reliability of the figures underlying the ratio, notwithstanding that those figures had been audited. It would not be foreseeable for the client to undertake this process within the 72 hours available, and avail itself of the due diligence defense. According to the Civil Rights Act in 1964, it is illegal to racially discriminate against someone in any workplace in the United States.
