CO2 Evolved due to Temperature s Effect on Yeast Fermentation of Glucose
Abstract
This experiment measured the amount of CO2 evolved based on yeast fermentation of glucose. It
was hypothesized that at room temperature, about 22 degrees Celsius, less CO2 would be
produced than when tested at 37 degrees Celsius. In order to determine the amount of CO2
evolved, an experiment was set up involving yeast, glucose, deionized water, and heat. To begin
the experiment, six fermentation flasks were acquired. Six milliliters of 10% glucose was
pipetted into each flask, followed by 10 mL of deionized water and 8 mL of the prepared yeast
solution. After each flask was placed at the appropriate temperatures necessary for the
experiment, the production of CO2 started to be monitored. Data was recorded consecutively
every two minutes over a time period of twenty minutes, and recorded in a data chart. The
average CO2 production at 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius was determined from the t
test results. According to these results, the average amount of CO2 produced after twenty minutes

explicate the views of George Sher and Neil Levy on moral responsibility. These philosophers
present different arguments on determining how and whether an individual can be held morally
responsible for their actions and omissions. To begin this paper, I will address the view of Sher,
following with Levy s view, and then concluding the paper with a contrast of the two views.
George Sher develops his argument in his book, Who Knew?. His main thesis is laid out in the
Full Epistemic Condition, also known as the FEC. Sher s FEC proposes three distinct conditions
under which a person is morally responsible, with the second condition having two subsets. To be

for the men. Native American had a different idea on how we were created. The Iroquois
creation story believed that a woman came from Heaven and a tortoise back was the land we
live on. A spirit saw that the woman was lonely and give her three children, two sons and one
