into greater detail in the movies. Were these famous magical creatures made up or compared to
something similar in mythology and folklore? There are many famous creatures throughout the
story that add curiosity to one?s mind when first reading about one. The feeling one may get is to
be able to see what this creature is capable of doing in comparison to others. In each book and
movie, there is usually a creature that Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to overcome, such as the
Basilisk in the second movie. The creatures from Harry Potter that are portrayed in folklore are
similar in many ways, yet different in others. Some creatures were actually made up, but the
most known ones, such as Fluffy and Fawkes, are actually compared to other similar creatures.

The Romeo and Juliet film adaptation that I preferred was Baz Luhrmann s 1996 adaptation.
The two films, even though they were about the same story of star cross d lovers, were
completely different. The 1996 version made the timeless classic, Romeo and Juliet, much more
modern and relatable. The decision to depict Romeo and Juliet, in a bustling city was a daring
move, but was still able to convey the theme that Shakespeare had intended nearly 400 years ago.
The costumes in the 2013 version were much more realistic with peasants, kings, and townspeople
being dressed, similarly to how they would have been dressed during Shakespeare s times. On the
other hand, the characters in the 1996 version were dressed with t shirts and adorned with

Interestingly, not all WWI literature is violent like one may reasonably suspect. What I find
interesting about WWI literature and a lot of good war literature is how it creates feelings of
calmness in situations that are clearly not calm. An example of this is seen in the poem Break of
Day in the Trenches. While in trenches, a muddy, uncomfortable, coffin like, mess, the narrator
talks about pulling ..the parapet s poppy / To stick behind my ear (Rosenberg 2030). Essentially,
even while in combat, and in a terrible place, the narrator finds a flower and decorates himself with
it. This is very odd: the beauty of the poppy does not belong in trenches. Yet there it exists, and the

The characters in Medea by Euripides have no free will; the gods control all. Consequently, the
concept, Divine Double Bind, described by the author Ruth Padel in Whom Gods Destroy as
Divinity issues prohibitions (do not kill your mother), forces you to break them, then punishes
you for doing so (215) explains perfectly the actions and ultimate fates of Medea, Jason, King
Creon and his daughter, the chorus leader, and the two sons. Many of Medea s actions, which
offend the gods, and the subsequent consequences for such actions throughout the story exhibit the
Divine Double Blind concept. Medea starts off by offending the gods when, according to Jason,

characters rooms creates suspense. Each person dies in a way similar to one of the deaths in

born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1960. Although Dahmer did not have a horrible childhood, it
