A Flat Tax System
Although this year s budget gap of $14.6 million was a far cry from the $104 million projected
shortfall in July 2017, the state is anticipating another tough budget year in 2018. With tax revenue
in such a precarious state, it is unwise to continue using a tax system that is failing the state
economy. The legislature should pursue prudent reform on corporate taxes to increase the
possibility of recouping lost revenue from past years, or at the very least, prevent another round of
budget shortfalls and spending cuts.
The graduated system businesses experience today has been in effect for over 30 years, and it is
unlikely that an effort to return to a flat tax system would gain political support from legislators. In
addition, a return to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lowering the corporate tax rate may incur social challenges from citizens who have an unfavorable
view of corporations; however, the alternate also offers many economic benefits while reducing
risk. After reviewing the evaluation criteria, we recommend that the Iowa Legislature lower the
corporate tax rates of each of the existing tax brackets, while still retaining the four tier tax structure.
Although both raising and lowering the tax rates have a positive impact on state productivity, we
contend that lowering the tax rate will lead to a greater economic by incentivizing companies to
conduct their business in Iowa, resulting in more economic growth and leading to more income that
can be taxed for revenue collection. In order to determine the optimal corporate income tax rate, we
return to the Edgeworth Box depicted in Figure 4.
Currently, Iowa s top tax level lies well above the upper bound of the box at 12%, while the 10%
level is equal to the maximum rate allowed within the relevant range. In order to bring both of
these rates within the relevant range of acceptable rates where a decrease in the statutory rate will
lead to an increase in state revenue, we recommend that Iowa reduce the top two tiers to 8.5% and
9.5%, respectively. As a result, the state will see rising corporate investment, boosting productivity
and increasing the amount of taxable income

A majority Government passed the bill of free trade with US and later with Mexico, which
called NAFTA. To change public opinion about the ferocious act of Free Trade, the Government
justified it with statistical data of increasing trade (Policy and Partisanship). Hundreds and
thousands of big companies left Canada and set up in states or Mexico. It was big economic
fiasco in those years. The Government imposed GST to recover the losses because of NAFTA.
Unemployment rate in Most of the provinces increased to the alarming level. In Flint, a city of
auto plants faced major economic and social upheavals. Due to this shift by GM to Mexico, thirty
thousand workers got unemployed. It caused Flint s crime rate skyrockets, with use of weapons
and murders. Crime becomes so common that when a TV channel tries to do a live story on the
plant closings, someone steals the network s van (along with the cables), abruptly stopping the
broadcast. Living in Flint becomes so desperate that it is commonly called Flint as the worst place
to live in America. In terms of jobs within a country, supreme executive authority gets a mandate

Louis Contributions Of The Jazz Music Scene
Musical Style Louis made many contributions to the evolution of jazz as he learned and adapted
his style. His use of harmonies and improvisation was before his time and he helped shape the
whole genre as it was evolving. His technique with his trumpet playing and how the sound played
off of the other instruments was unparalleled at the time. His contributions and techniques play a
large part in changing jazzmusic from a folksy sound to more of the swing sound we attribute to
the genre today. Armstrong had amazing timing and rhythm as well as an ear for the music which
set him above the rest and propelled him to the top of the jazz music scene. In his songs you can
hear how much his trumpet stands out and the level of skill during trumpet solos and how he uses
the tone and vibrato of the instrument in order to give the sound we, to this day, associate with
him. His technique at the trumpet was revolutionary for the time and Armstrong would help shape
what the Jazz movement would become. (Ramsey) Philosophy
Louis grew up in a negative environment and understood how bad life could be and because of
this he tried to always make people smile. He was a humble man, even though being one of the
greatest celebrities of the twentieth Century (Louis). He was an Entertainer, not just an artist and
wanted to touch as many people he could with his music and wanted everyone to have a good
time. His shows weren t just a musician playing music for money, it was a man trying to make

Double Cross System
In May, 1940 when Winston Churchill became Prime Minister, he wanted fifth columnists be
rooted out completely because he felt that they were working behind to aid Hitler and could not
accept that the victories of Germany from Western Europe to Norway could entirely be caused
by their weapons and tactical superiority. He realised that Vernon Kell, the head of security
service had stayed on for far too long so he replaced him with Jasper Hacker who was also not up to
the task and he too was changed in a period that the entire Security Service appear to be chaotic

Differences Between And Then There Were None And A Wrinkle...
In the movie productions of And Then There Were None and A Wrinkle In Time, the directors did
not follow the original storyline of the book. There are many differences between the books and
the movies, but there is also similarities. While most of the movie follows the storyline, there are
some changes made to the storyline. These changes made in the movie impacted the storyline a lot.
In A Wrinkle In Time, one of the biggest differences from the book is the plotsequencing in the
movie. The movie first starts with Meg at school daydreaming about her father and her talking with
each other on their stargazing rock, where in the book it starts with Meg talking about the
thunderstorm. Another difference is, in the middle of the movie, Meg meets ... Show more content

In the book, Vera accuses Lombard of being the killer and shoots him, she then goes and hangs
herself. The real killer, Wargrave, puts a confession letter in a bottle and throws it into the sea.
He then takes a pill that kills him. In the movie, none of this happens. Vera and Lombard become
lovers and trust that each other are not the killer, but to follow the nursery rhyme Lombard asks
Vera to fire the gun and he will fall to his knees to trick the killer. When she goes in the house,
her room is set up for her to hang herself and Wargrave is sitting there. Lombard comes in to hear
Wargrave confessing to the killing. Wargrave takes the pill that kills him to leave Vera and
Lombard there to look like the killers. The driver of the boat, Fred Narracott, comes in and asks
where the other guests are. Vera and Lombard tell Narracott to call for them, while they run off. The
movie then ends, but from there you could predict that they took the boat and went off. That was
the biggest difference made to the movie, but a similarity is that when each guest died another

There s Nothing More Dangerous Than Someone Who Wants For...
Banksy states, There s nothing more dangerous than someone who wants to make the world a
better place . Sarcastic no doubt, it is essential to realise that the notion of vandals and graffiti
artists are slightly different. Vandals are miscreants and cause damage and destruction to society
where as graffitiartists though they can be deemed as vandals, compared to absolute destruction of
society, they create art for the society to see. Unluckily for graffiti artists there contrast to vandals
is quite evident throughout the social order and most known in the eyes of the police. Conversely,
stated in the questions quote banksy states that vandals want to make the world a better place
not graffiti artists in general. It appears that perhaps graffiti artists wish to make the world a
better looking place, not as much as vandals wanting to make a destructive wasteland. If police
officers wish to brand the world a better a place they must start in their society and a core issue in
suburban societies is vandals, though this embraces graffiti artists, damaging vandals are most
certainly more of an issue on society than the graffiti artist, perhaps banksy has not given himself
any justice in regards to his quote. The main ideal of this quote is that graffiti is not harming, but
beatifying society, however, to society graffiti is seen as a defacement of private property and not
a form of art for the world to see. Graffiti vandalism. On the other hand, is a complete disregard for

Learning Styles- Theory of Multiple Intelligences Essay
At some point in each individual persons life they attend some type of school, class or learning
facility. Whether it is at school, home or any other place that one would be taught a subject or
lesson. While attending a class or lecture each person that is their to learn will grasp the concept
of the lesson in a different way and gain a different amount of knowledge and understanding on
the topic no matter what. This reason being is every one has a different way of learning. Just as
each individual is different in their own way they also have a different way of gaining
information from a source. The way people are able to grasp information that is being given to
them is called a learning style. Below you will identify the different... Show more content on

This is the style most associate with in school since teachers usually verbally teach and use
reading techniques for their students. A physical learner is able to act out information or
perform it in a physical manner is able to retain the information better than sitting in a lecture
and listening to the information being delivered. Logical styles of learning are common with
those who like mathematics. Being able to have reason behind what is being taught helps them
to identify with the subject and gain a better understanding. The last two styles are social and
solitary, which can relate to a persons social life. Some are better at learning with study groups
and group projects while others prefer a private learning environment. (advanogy.com 2004). If a
person has a strength or preference in one learning style, it does not mean they are unable to
learn in other styles. It simply means that they will retain information more efficiently if it is
delivered in their preferred style. Most information is delivered verbally, but visual learners are
still able to obtain the information just not as easily or quickly as a verbal learner. When one has
a weakness in a certain area of learning it could come at a disadvantage to them when in the
classroom.
In seeing that some people had weaknesses in areas that they were being tested on, Howard Gardner

Theft is a unique short story in the Porter canon for several reasons. It is the first effort at
incorporating autobiographical elements into her work. Porter developed an intense relationship
with Matthew Josephson, her literary mentor and lover. His wife, after discovering the affair, told
him to choose between them. Josephson chose his wife and wrote Porter a letter detailing the
decision and the fervent hope they could continue working together and remain friends. Porter was

The curtain of the story rises, and Porter s protagonist emerges from her bath to see that her gold
cloth purse is no longer on the bench where she spread it out to dry the night before. As she recalls
the previous evening, trying to discover when it may have gone missing, we learn that she has been
robbed several times either material[ly] or intangib[ly] (85), but not of the purse.
The subtle yet critical thefts of the night before take place, as so many petty thefts can, under
the guise of friendship. As they leave a cocktail party together, her friend, Camilo, insists on
walking her through the rain to the Elevated and in doing so ruins his hat; still, she thinks, he
will associate her with his misery (79), as if his offer to walk her through rain puts her at fault.
Roger, another artist friend, spots her on the steps to the Elevated and offers to take a taxi with
her, but then borrows ten cents, a quarter of all the money she possesses, to pay his fare. Once in
her apartment building, she runs into a playwright who owes her money for writing the third act of

Gymnastics Research Paper
In gymnastics math plays a crucial role in tricks and stunts. If a gymnast does not have enough
power to complete a trick at the right angle the trick will not be safely completed. There is also
math in how gymnastics are judged and how skills are rated. There are five different values of
grading a skill, the skills are A, B, C, D, E and F. For each skill level the difficulty point increases
by one tenth. The goal of a gymnast is to get a perfect score of ten (Isport, rules and regulations).
In gymnastics, there are four apparatuses; for women s there are floor, beam, bars and vault and
for men there are floor, pommel horse, rings, and parallel bars and horizontal bar. All the
different events are judged on what is required for the level of the gymnast. For each level, there
is more tricks and stunts that need to be incorporated into a routine. The floor is twelve by twelve
meters, or 39.97 feet. The area of the floor mat is 144 m2 or 1,597.6 ft2. The length the gymnast

Connotation Of The Word Judgement Essay
Words have various connotations, and these connotations help people to perceive implications
behind a specific sentence. Whether read or spoken, the word esteemed holds more credibility
associated than famous, just as plain can be viewed more negatively than simple. Take out the
words and people start depending on other clues to formulate an opinion on a particular person or
situation. Body language can be a major part of this judgement, conveying mood, comfortability,
formality, and so on. Clothing choice, too, contributes to the way people perceive one another.
People use cliche titles such as hispter, emo, and basic to describe a person, going off of wardrobe
alone. Despite the connotation of the wordjudgement, not all judgement is inherently negative. One
could argue that judging people is a primal instinct, set in place for people to determine who they

Those people we deem most visually intimidating, for one reason or another, could have some
remarkable qualities, causing our judgement could lead us astray from potentially amiable or
hilarious company. With that in mind, it s important to remember that even though clothing choices
are a statement, they are not an instrument meant for harmful assumptions or a judgement of
character.
To prove this concept, Amber Rose and Blac Chyna made an appearance at the 2015 VMAs
wearing tight fitted, yet revealing clothing, demonstrated in the picture attached. On the clothing
are printed words, in bright, bold fonts of the words people commonly associate with them and
their wardrobe choices. Among these words are, b*tch, stipper, whore, and goldigger. Celebrities
are uniquely stereotyped and criticized based on what they wear, because of the sheer amount of
exposure they have to the public eye, so including the words appears to be an attempt to catch
people in their

The Role Of Egocentrism In King Lear And The Stone Angel
When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self preservation, we undergo a
truly heroic transformation Joseph Campbell. Egocentric can be defined as having little or no
regard for interests or attitudes other than one s own. Throughout the novel, The Stone Angel by
Margaret Laurence the use of egocentrism is heavily exampled. As well as the play write King
Lear by William Shakespeare also illustrates the trait of egocentricity. The characters Hagar
Shipley (The Stone Angel) and King Lear (King Lear) both demonstrate slight regard for
opinions other than one s own. When a character abandons egocentricity incorrect assumptions
are no longer made, thus a new perspective will prevail. To begin, both Hagar and Lear express an
egocentric personality. Such as, Hagar and Lear express stubbornness when it comes to other
opinions. Hagar is stubborn towards her father, Jason Currie. During a flashback, Hagar tells her
father that she will marry Bram, It ll be done by me (49). After her father disagrees with the
marriage, Hagar communicates no regard concerning his opinion and marries Bram anyways. As
for King Lear, he as well is stubborn towards Kent. After disowning Cordelia, Kent attempts to give
Lear a wise opinion. Lear... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Stone Angel, Hagar paired with pride creates a self centred personality. Once Marvin and
Doris arrive, Hagar expresses the thought, Let them talk. What do I care now what people say?

interest for herself and not others. On the subject, Lear is self seeking due to his pride. After
Cordelia dents the pride of her father Lear responds with, Come not between the dragon and his
wrath (1.1.124). With his egocentric personality, Lear has put his focus towards himself and
emotions. All in all, both Hagar Shipley and King Lear exemplify egocentric based

art as a form of mental relief. This deliverance applies, in particular, to the narrator in Charlotte

short stories, readers can pinpoint several instances in which these specific characters seek solace

as early as the 1900 s at the Ohio School for the Deaf (Bauman). However, with the advanced
technology of the 20th century American Sign Languagenumerical and A Z stories may be cherished
and videorecorded for future generations (American Sign Language Literature). What are A Z and
numerical stories? A Z stories are stories created in American Sign Language that begin with the
letter A and continue in succession throughout the alphabet to Z. Numerical stories are similar in
that it begins with 1 and continues in some sort of numerical sequence.... Show more content on

Although, there rules that apply to both forms of storytelling. The first rule is that the story
incorporates paralinguistic mechanisms such as pausing, space, etc. (Bauman). The second rule
is that the story flows naturally, and clearly makes sense. It is not allowed that a storyteller has a
story that is choppy or jumpy to the point that the viewer does not understand. One of the most
important rules is that the storyteller succeeds in continuing the story in alphabetical, or
numerical, order. Similarly, if one tells the story in the reverse order, one cannot skip a letter, or
number (Bauman). Lastly, for alphabetical stories there are allowable deviations and those that
are not allowed. For example, many storytellers interchange 2 hand shapes such as N, H, U, and
V. This deviation, along with the interchange of the 3 hand shapes M and W, are allowable
deviations (Bauman). However, the usage of the time out sign as T in A Z stories is an example of
a deviation that is not allowed (Bauman). These vital rules to alphabetical and numerical
storytelling aid in contributing to the overall purpose. A Z and numerical stories have multiple
purposes, however, the main purpose is that of a source of entertainment (American Sign Language
Literature). Similar to our American Sign Language class, classes throughout the world are
assigned to create or research A Z and numerical stories for school assignments. Although, they are

Analysis Of The Poem The Faces Of The Rainbow

Gold This is who I am, what I am, and where I m heading. I ve known since I was the tiniest of
boys that I was different from the others, much, much different. It wasn t my physical
appearance, my origin, nor my speech that made me unique. It was something internal. Walking
down the wet, red bricked streets of Burlington, Vermont and exclaiming Hello to everyone I met
was a natural, soft, fluttery feeling of giddiness. Some would wave, some would reply, and some
stopped for a conversation, like the sweet, understanding people they are. This is my home. The
life and consciousness that makes me, me, I treasure and feel blessed every day for it. Ms.
Mooney from down the yellow, strong willed apartments loves to ask me about recent things.
How has your boyfriend been , or come over to my cafe for your next date, it s on the house , she
would say. The sweet, sorrow in her melancholy voice would remind me of her red haired,
spirited girlfriend that passed away, but all she would do is smile brightly and make others smile
around her. She wouldn t be the only one either to comment about my relationship in the town.
Many of the people knew of Landon and I. He is the sweetest, kindest, most affectionate person

A Social Group
In life, we all play different roles. I am a daughter, niece, friend, student, employee and artist. The
definition of a social group is two or more people who interact on a regular basis in routine ways
and who share a common sense of membership and identity. A social group example would be
classmates in one section of a class and an example of an aggregate would be New Yorkers
riding the subway together. An aggregate is not a group but a collection of people who briefly
share the same physical space but do not see themselves as belonging together. Over the
summer, I auditioned to be part of a theatre company and was asked to join. The name of the
company is called Complete Theatre Company and they do shows and have acting classes three
days a week. I was recently part of their improvisation show Call My Dog . The people in the
class range from ages eighteen to seventy five, normally in the Friday class, they are about 15
people that come, but it depends on the day. It differs week to week. A normal acting class is
formatted by doing physical and vocal warm ups, having a keynote speaker where we talk about
different aspects about the business of acting and then Annie goes around the room and asks us
if we have a scene or a monologue to work on and if we do, we work on them and the class gives
positive feedback. We are a primary group because we are small in number, we interact personally
(we know about each other s personal life) and we show genuine interest and support

helped Ancient China through advanced agriculture technology because advanced agriculture
technology means faster farming to feed all of China. With the rapid farming technology on the

The School That I Would Give Temple University Essay
I have attended only three different schools before NECC. The school that I thought was by far
the most dynamic and helped me retain information better was Temple University. I would give
Temple University an A, because I was exposed to several different teaching styles, which made
the classes much more memorable. I remember sitting in my Language in Society Class thinking
Why are we taking a group quiz? He might as well just hand out the A s. But it was much deeper
than that. I had to learn how to balance speaking and listening for group participation, in addition
to time management. It wasn t like a group project, because we were just working together for one
timed class period instead of having days of preparation. These were skills that I came to realize
were much more important outside of school. I ve noticed a lot at work, when we have to make a
timed decision especially, that people would dominate conversations and leave people s opinions
out. Now, I actually want to hear from people who are quieter as opposed to just thinking that they
agree with whatever is being said. I had several different teachers that would challenge the structure
of a normal classroom.
Being a Linguistics/Speech Pathology major at Temple University meant a lot of my classes
were voice and sound related. I can t begin to describe the weird sounds and phrases we had to
produce with our mouths. Learning this way really helped because learning where my alveolar

Mercury Planet Research Paper
You are now ready to explore every planet in our solar system. You will learn tons of cool facts
about each planet. This will also teach you about where the names of our planets came from and
what the planet is known for.
Mercury and its speed.
In Roman mythology Mercury is the god of commerce, travel and thievery. The planet got its name
because of how fast it moves. One year in mercury is 88 days, which means it revolves around the
Sun in 88 days. Not only that but Mercury is the closest planet to The Sun. It is also known as the
2nd hottest planet. Mercury has no moons though because of how close it is to The Sun.

is it takes 10,756 Earth days, to complete one revolution around the sun. Saturn s Surface is
completely made out of gas.
7. Uranus and it s ice
Uranus is the seventh planet closest to the sun. Uranus is the ancient Greek deity of the
Heavens, the earliest supreme god.The color of Uranus is bright blue. Uranus is always very
cold and windy. One Day in Uranus is 17 hours. Uranus also complete a full orbit around the sun
in about 84 earth years. Like all gas planets Uranus has some rings. Uranus has about ten small
moons and five big ones. Uranus is known for how cold it is. It s basically filled with gases but
mainly ice. Something about Uranus is really doesn t have an actual surface it kind of has rocky
and icy water fluids.
8. Neptunes wind and Sea.
Finally Neptune is the 8th planet from The Sun, or known as the last. In Roman mythology
Neptune is the god of Sea. Not only does it have ice, water and rocks but it is also the windiest
planet. Neptune also has tons of storms all around it s atmosphere. Neptune s winds can also be
three times stronger than Jupiter s and nine times stronger than Earth s. Neptune has has a total of

Beethoven and Tchaikovsky
Beethoven and Tchaikovsky
While Ludwig van Beethoven and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky have much in common, they also have
many differences. Both men are famous for their orchestral compositions and their future influence
on other composers. They experienced a blend of horrible failures and great successes. Although
they were from different musical time periods, they both made huge contributions to the world of
music.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany 1770; the second half of the classical period.
After the death of his grandfather, who was also named Ludwig van Beethoven, the family was on
a downward slope financially. As far as physical appearances are concerned, young Beethoven

1819 is the year in which his hearing was thoroughly depleted. He could no longer play the piano
virtuously and had to communicate by text. As a result, he spent a majority of his time
composing. Beethoven would sketch out his compositions in a book. These books have been
maintained and it is evident that he would work on several pieces at once. During this time, his
compositions ranged from simple melodies to more elaborate and edited works. In 1804
Beethoven completed his Third Symphony. This piece was originally a tribute to Napoleon
Bonaparte, but when Beethoven found that Napoleon was proclaimed an emperor he deleted the
dedication. At this point in his life, Beethoven seriously considered marriage. His first love was
for a woman named Giulietta Guicciardi. When this relationship eventually broke, he sought the
hand of Giulietta s cousin, Josephine. The bond between them broke and the engagement was
ended. Beethoven s final attempt with a woman was with his doctor s daughter, Therese Malfatti.
As is expected, this relationship also failed and Beethoven reached the final part of his life as a
bachelor. The rate and quality of his compositions slowed and he became more and more isolated.
Another depressing and negative event in Beethoven s life took place in 1815. His brother died.

Female Roles In Dystopian Literature
In a research done by Mcclantoc (2016), it can be deduced that the main ingredient of a good
dystopian literature are the main protagonists who induce some kind of social change in their
society or world. This applies regardless of the two types of dystopia; one that is apparent or in the
guise of a utopia. In dystopian literature, the main characters are the average person. They are
usually male characters. At the beginning of the story, they noticed the flaws in their society and
question or disagree with it. The characters are devised and carefully laid out that they eventually
show initiative to induce change in their society or world. Yet, the main female characterwho is
included in the story alongside the main character serves as a trigger or guide to initiate the main
character to make a change for their dystopic society or world. Despite how hard the female
character provides aid to the main male character, she does not rise to be in the spotlight in the
story. The theory by Gottelieb (2001) observed the criterion of how the female protagonistis viewed
and portrayed in dystopian literature. The theory mocked the existence of the female characters in
the story. It seems that these female characters only have two tasks in their story. They serve as the
trigger to directly or indirectly start the main character s initiative; to only step aside later and let
the male hero take over and bring victory.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theory Of The Permafrost Theory
Permafrost theory
The third medium explored as a heat sink for the heat exchanger is permafrost. Permafrost is soil
that is frozen year round. The top layer of permafrost experiences an active change in temperature
over the year. However, the permafrost retains a constant annual temperature a couple meters below
the surface. The constant below freezing temperature of the permafrost makes it a potential heat
sink for the heat exchanger.
The permafrost is treated as a solid for our exploratory analysis of it as the heat sink. Therefore, for
the purposes of our models, conduction is the primary mode of heat transfer out of the heat
exchanger system when permafrost is used as the surrounding medium. Fourier s Law is used as the
fundamental equation used in all of the heat exchanger analysis.
Fourier s Law: q = k∇T
Where:
q = Heat flux k = Thermal conductivity
∇T = Temperature gradient
A basic model of the heat exchanger is a pipe carrying the CO2 through permafrost. The inlet
temperature, outlet temperature, and heat rate out are all known variables. The dimensions of a
simple tubular heat exchanger are found using the general heat exchanger equation.
General Heat Exchanger Equation: q=UA∆T
Where:
Q = Heat rate
U = Overall heat transfer coefficient
A = Outer surface area
О”T = Change in temperature
The pipe experiences heat transfer by means of internal convection from the CO2, conduction
through the pipes material, and conduction from the permafrost. The overall heat

Switched Reluctance Motor ( Srm ) Essay
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has merits of rigid and simple structure, simple converter
circuit with fault tolerance, high starting torque, premium speed regulation performance, high
speed capability, high torque to inertia ratio. However, the SRM suffers from noticeable torque
ripple due to discrete nature of the torque production, acoustic noises, high nonlinear
characteristics due to the doubly saliency structure. The nonlinearity in the operation of the SRM
complicates the analysis as well as the control of the motor [1 5]. Based on the modelling of
SRM magnetic circuit, three models of SRM are found in literature: linear model, nonlinear
model without mutual inductances, and nonlinear model with mutual inductances. Linear models
in [6,7] are designed and simulated readily. On contrast nonlinear models are obtained after a
large set of experimental tests to obtain the magnetic characteristics [8 15], or from a finite
element method (FEM) analysis [16 18], which takes into consideration the saturation of rotor
and stator materials. The nonlinear model is preferable when accurate precision is wanted. The
converter used with SRM requires at least one switch per phase due to unidirectional phase
current. This is a big advantage when compared to the converters for AC motor drives. Some
configurations of converters used in SRM drives are presented in [19 22]. The half bridge
asymmetric converter is the most widely used for SRM drive applications, because of its high

Summary Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog

interesting from reading my classmate Mini s thoughts on Discussion Forum Unit 5. I felt a

County was the story with same bet theme and I tried to read it for a change. The Celebrated
Jumping Frog of Calaveras County has an as told to framework. A talkative man named Simon

amazing animals Smiley used in his schemes (Wilson, 1997, p18). Jim Smiley made a bet with
the stranger. He offered to bet forty dollars that Dan l Webster (frog) could outjump any frog in
Calaveras County. But the stranger is a con artist, he spooned buckshot into Dan l Webster s mouth
that he is unable to jump. Consequently, Jim Smiley had lost the wager. He found out soon after,
but it was too late. I didn t like it or hate this story at first. This was quite a humorous story, but I

cinematic storytelling, visual effects, and what a director could do with a film, paving the way for
many other great films to come. The world of Star Warsis also rich with history and lore, and a lot

Summary Of For He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne
Love tends to be the topic of many poetic literary works, whether it be the joys that come with it
or the pains suffered because of it, but what can be made of the love that results in both? In the
poem, For He Looked Not upon Her, George Gascoigne already makes that message clear through
his title: sometimes, there is reason not to desire what we can not help but long for. When his
audience reads the work, they are meant to discover that reason behind why He would not look
upon Her . Through the speakers form, diction, and imagery that he utilizes in the poem, it becomes
clear that his tone towards loveis wary, yet also conflictingly longing.
Starting with form, we can split Gascoigne s poem into three parts that depict what love feels
like in the speaker s experience: lines 1 4, lines 5 10, and lines 11 14. In the first part, the
speaker almost seems to be addressing the audience when he says, You must not wonder... , but
it soon becomes apparent he is speaking to a specific person when he describes features in the
fourth line, About the gleams which on your face do grow. This means the first part is personal
to him and him alone. Then in lines 5 10, he offers examples of two creatures who learn from
past injuries, as if backing up a claim where he has somehow been injured as well. That claim
soon follows in the last 4 lines when he reverts back to his personal point of view, Because your

In 1798 Livingston received this monopoly allowing him the exclusive ability of navigating all

Research Paper On Endometriosis
Endometriosis a disorder where the tissue lining of the uterus forms outside of the uterus causing
pelvic pain. Endometriosis was first noticed in 1860, by Austrialian pathologist Karl Freiherr von
Rokitansky. He first called the disease an adenomyoma . In the 1900 s there were only 20
worldwide cases of the disease. In the past many women have lived with this disease undiagnosed.
Some factors could be environmental issues, food and general health and other numerous factors.
No one knows for sure what causes this disease, but it is a common health condition that affects
11% or more than 6.5 million of American women. This targets women from the ages 15 to late 40

Leadership and Organization Structure Essay
Leadership and Organization Structure All organizations have a structure; criminal justice is much
as the military in regards to having a chain of command that delegates his/her authority downward
from the major command element (Stohr Collins, 2014). Max Weber defined the characteristics of
a bureaucracyas the following: there is a hierarchy of authority that has several levels where each
level is controlled by the one above them and includes formal procedures (Stillman, 2010; Stohr
Collins, 2014). Each position is divided with no overlap of duties and the work environment would
be impersonal with employment decisions based on the employees technical qualifications
(Stillman, 2010; Stohr Collins, 2014).
In a bureaucratic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within law enforcement, the hierarchy would look something like this: chief, assistant chief, major,
lieutenant on down to the line officers. Courts would have a judge, prosecutor, defense attorney,
bailiff, clerk, etc. and corrections would be warden, colonel, lieutenant colonel, major, captain,
lieutenant, sergeant and correctional officer (Stohr Collins, 2014). As you can see law enforcement
and corrections is very similar to the military rank structure. Directives will flow from the top
echelon to the middle and then to the lowest level. In law enforcement, it is a general thought that
at certain times of the month speeding tickets seem to increase and we jokingly say the officer must
be trying to make his monthly quota. If this statement is indeed true, then, it implies that the
supervisor is checking the number of written tickets, therefore, placing more emphasis on the
quantity not the quality of work. Holding employees accountable is paramount; however, when
superiors are micromanaging, valuable time is wasted. The time could have been utilized reviewing
the results of the subordinate s actions. When law enforcement officers are forced to adopt

What Is Worship And What It Is Not
What Worship Is And What It Is Not.
What is the true meaning of worshipping God? Is it intense emotional outpouring of an
individual? Is it smoke, lights, and loud music reminiscent of some sort of sanctified bar room?
Does it require music or sound at all? What exactly is required of an individual who wishes to
glorify his Creator and Redeemer? These are the questions that will be discussed in this paper.
What is worship? It can be defined as many things from solitude and prayer with God; It may
involve music to some, in an effort to draw one closer into the presence of the Almighty. The
best definition of worship is this: it is an end unto itself; it is not a means unto something else.
When we try to worship for the sake of certain benefits that may be received, the act ceases to be
worship; for then it attempts to use God as a means to something else. (Segler 5) It may be nigh
unto impossible to pinpoint a single form of worship that is applicable to everyone, but a single
concept must be present for all believers. This is the concept of surrender and obedience to God.
It is the humbleness to something greater than oneself. It the realization that man is nothing but
sand on the seashore, while God is an endless sea. Mankind is finite; he is only given a few years,
while God is the Ancient of Days. Whether this humble surrender is in the silence of solitude or in
the presence of other believers, it is foolish to speculate. Worship is to quicken the conscience to the

action and thoughts takes part in creating the theme. Animal farm was a book about animals taking
control of the farm from their tyrannic farmer. The animals attempts to make the farm a
democracy, but Napoleon, the pig leader, takes over and eventually becomes the new tyrant. The
Pearl was about a family, Kino, Juana, Coyotito, who catches a huge pearl. They go through a
journey to get away from any harm such as the trackers. In the book Animal Farm and the book
The Pearl, the two characters, Napoleon and the Doctor, created a theme that greed can change their
perspective.
In Animal Farm, Napoleon was able to show how greed and abuse of power can change oneself.
Napoleon used his rank in the farm to change the commandments so that the rules and the farm
would be in his way. But a few days later Muriel, reading over the Seven Commandments to herself,
noticed that there was yet another of them which the animals had remembered wrong. They had
thought the Fifth Commandment was No animal shall drink alcohol, but there were two words that
they had forgotten. Actually the Commandment read: No animal shall drink alcohol to excess. The
more Muriel looked at the commandments, the more wrong she knew it looked. Napoleon
changed the original commandments to suit his wants to make sure the animals were in line for
their jobs and did not rebel. His power of being the leader of the

It is giant, rip in space in which everything is sucked in. A black hole sucks everything within a
certain vicinity inside of it depends on how large it is. If a coin sized black hole were placed at
the center of the earth, the earth would be destroyed. But not all of the earth would be sucked in
only a partial amount. However all life on that side would be obliterated. Asteroids are a big
factor in the role of destruction. Imagine yourself inside a drifting spaceship in the middle of
nowhere and a giant rock is hurtling towards you. Pretty scary right? Well that s pretty much
what it feels like when an asteroid is hurtling towards you. If an asteroid hits your ship you re
pretty much screwed. The asteroid could puncture the ship and suck out all the air inside, then
you will have to fix the exterior manually. Which exposes you to more problems. So asteroids are
not a good thing. Air is also a big factor in space. What happens if your in the middle of exploring

punctured your suit depleting you of your oxygen. Next thing you know your crew leaves you

Immigration Policy Historically Has Been Influenced By Our...
Immigration policy historically has been influenced by our country s fear to uphold traditional
American culture often rooted in a sense of anti immigration and xenophobia. We perpetuate this by
allowing the criminalization of communities of color, mainly with the large Latino population in
the U.S. A large portion of the immigrants who arrive in the country are fleeing dangerous
homelands pitted with economic and political turmoil. Their situation is worsened by our country s
broken immigrationsystem where families are separated, immigrants are exploited as work labor,
discrimination is rampant, and the pathways to citizenship are convoluted at best. We as a country
need to uphold our values of freedom and equality when immigrants come to our country and
reform our immigration system to be more reflective of this. In light of the recent occurrences with
ISIS related terrorism committed by foreigners such as the San Bernardino shooting or the Orlando
night club shooting, there has been some resistance from the country in regards to immigration.
Additionally the age old worry of job security also heightens our sensitivity towards immigrants
with jobs, as they compete for them. Despite this, Clinton s Immigration policy seeks to transform
the U.S. into a version of our former selves with family at the heart of her immigration policies. In
regards to this, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a long history of promoting immigration
changes through comprehensive

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty
Just ten years later, janitors once again marched for an increase in their wages. The city still had
to confront all the issues related to poverty and wages, so the workers decided that their best
option for them to be heard, was through a march (Meyerson, 2000). As the marchers began to walk
down Wilshire Boulevard from downtown to Century City, they experience many surprises. As they
walked the cars kept honking at them, not become of anger, but because they were trying to signal
their support for the movement (Meyerson, 2000). As the movement continued, there was a lot
more support then what they believed they would get. Elected officials came out and stood on the
flatbed truck leading the parade, to signal their support (Meyerson, 2000). This march was very
different in comparison to the one that had occurred 10 years prior, which had been violent.
Furthermore, there was a lot of influential people on their side, for example Deputy Mayor Manuel
Valencia, who said that the wages that the strikers are now earning are simply not a livable wage,
not for anyone, not in Los Angeles. (Meyerson, 2000). They had a great deal of support, not only
here, in L.A., but also abroad. There is an important line in the article by Meyerson, By making
visible the lives of our immigrant poor, by making plausible a solution to their poverty, they have
in 10 short days improved us all (2000). They stood up for their rights, and helped make L.A. a
better city. It is interesting to see that

The United States And Cuba
After more than a half century of hostilities, the United States and Cuba have taken significant steps
in recent years to dramatically alter their relationship in the years ahead. Those efforts are
controversial to a number of Americans who oppose engaging the Cuban government.
Prior to the Spanish American War of 1898, Cubawas a Spanish colony with extensive commercial
relations with U.S. businesses, particularly with regard to the production of sugar. Following the
U.S. victory in the Spanish American War in 1898, Cuba, which is located just 90 miles off the
coast of Florida, became a U.S. territory and then gained its independence in 1902.
For more than 50 years following its independence, Cuba was governed by a succession of
elected and authoritarian leaders, culminating with rule of Fulgencio Batista, who seized power in
a bloodless coup in 1952. Batista ruled as a brutal dictator and was overthrown by resistance groups
led by Fidel Castro on January 1, 1959. Castro began his more than 45 years as Cuba s leader by
promising democratic rule, but he quickly began to stifle dissent often by imprisoning or executing
opponents. Relations between Castro and the U.S. deteriorated quickly in 1959 and 1960 as he
courted the Soviet Union, the U.S. s adversary in the Cold War, and began confiscating Cuban
property owned by U.S. corporations and citizens.
Due to increasing hostilities between the U.S. and Cuba, President Eisenhower severed diplomatic
relations with Cuba on

Russian Formalism And The Hero
The title hero has been around for a long time. There are many things that can pop into a person s
head when the word hero is said. Within Russian formalism, there is the idea of structures and
perceptions within literature. The time, place, historical movement, and author, can change the
perceptions of a novel or even how it is written. Stories have been around since people started to
communicate. Stories or myths were used to teach lessons, for entertainment, or to keep history
alive. There have always been different types of stories that people would talk about. One type of
story that has been around for a long time is the story of heroes. The stories started out having
hidden lessons within the stories. To fully understand the archetype, or structure, of the heroquest

How Did The Middle Colonies Affect The New England Colonies
How Did This Affect That Imagine this you come to a new city where do you go. You could go

This is the same problems colonists had the face they just had this on a grander scale between
colonial regions. This was a big dilemma since what colonial region you settled in is where you
stayed. So people choose where to live based off of what was offered in the region In the New
Englandcolony it was a rather rocky and barren soil. This led to not much being planted besides
what was needed to sustain a family, so the turned to the heavy forests to help. The heavy forests
brought in a ship building business. This was a big deal to the economy since the ships were sold
to traders and there was always a demand to build. Another reason the needed to build ships was

This vehicle requires no steering wheel, gas, or brake pedals, and already has 500,000 miles of

developing detailed maps of roads it has traveled on. Google s disadvantages as a competitor all
stream from the outrageous cost of its self driving car prototype, which is $170,000. Shashua and
Aviram do not believe it could be commercialized at such a price. Also, the mapping system would
involve an immense amount of driving and is extremely unrealistic on a global scale. There is also
a possibility of road construction, changing roads and highways making the memory saved in the
systems inaccurate for the mapping system used by Google. In addition, Shashua and Aviram
believe that it is not to Google s advantage to attempt such huge leaps into the future so soon.
Lastly, the other potential competition that could challenge Mobileye would be OmniVision. This
company develops digital imaging solutions for a multitude of markets besides automotive,
including entertainment, medical imaging, PC cameras, mobile phones, and security and
surveillance. OmniVision has technology such as a 360 degree view, lane change detection, and
autonomous driving. The technology used in those various devices could be applied to visual

  • 2. A Flat Tax System Although this year s budget gap of $14.6 million was a far cry from the $104 million projected shortfall in July 2017, the state is anticipating another tough budget year in 2018. With tax revenue in such a precarious state, it is unwise to continue using a tax system that is failing the state economy. The legislature should pursue prudent reform on corporate taxes to increase the possibility of recouping lost revenue from past years, or at the very least, prevent another round of budget shortfalls and spending cuts. The graduated system businesses experience today has been in effect for over 30 years, and it is unlikely that an effort to return to a flat tax system would gain political support from legislators. In addition, a return to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lowering the corporate tax rate may incur social challenges from citizens who have an unfavorable view of corporations; however, the alternate also offers many economic benefits while reducing risk. After reviewing the evaluation criteria, we recommend that the Iowa Legislature lower the corporate tax rates of each of the existing tax brackets, while still retaining the four tier tax structure. Although both raising and lowering the tax rates have a positive impact on state productivity, we contend that lowering the tax rate will lead to a greater economic by incentivizing companies to conduct their business in Iowa, resulting in more economic growth and leading to more income that can be taxed for revenue collection. In order to determine the optimal corporate income tax rate, we return to the Edgeworth Box depicted in Figure 4. Currently, Iowa s top tax level lies well above the upper bound of the box at 12%, while the 10% level is equal to the maximum rate allowed within the relevant range. In order to bring both of these rates within the relevant range of acceptable rates where a decrease in the statutory rate will lead to an increase in state revenue, we recommend that Iowa reduce the top two tiers to 8.5% and 9.5%, respectively. As a result, the state will see rising corporate investment, boosting productivity and increasing the amount of taxable income ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A majority Government passed the bill of free trade with US and later with Mexico, which called NAFTA. To change public opinion about the ferocious act of Free Trade, the Government justified it with statistical data of increasing trade (Policy and Partisanship). Hundreds and thousands of big companies left Canada and set up in states or Mexico. It was big economic fiasco in those years. The Government imposed GST to recover the losses because of NAFTA. Unemployment rate in Most of the provinces increased to the alarming level. In Flint, a city of auto plants faced major economic and social upheavals. Due to this shift by GM to Mexico, thirty thousand workers got unemployed. It caused Flint s crime rate skyrockets, with use of weapons and murders. Crime becomes so common that when a TV channel tries to do a live story on the plant closings, someone steals the network s van (along with the cables), abruptly stopping the broadcast. Living in Flint becomes so desperate that it is commonly called Flint as the worst place to live in America. In terms of jobs within a country, supreme executive authority gets a mandate from the citizens of the state, not from the corporations. Corporations, especially Corporate America, have usually nothing to do with the livelihood of the work force to gain economic power. It is much more interested in the stockholder s profit margin. • 4. Louis Contributions Of The Jazz Music Scene Musical Style Louis made many contributions to the evolution of jazz as he learned and adapted his style. His use of harmonies and improvisation was before his time and he helped shape the whole genre as it was evolving. His technique with his trumpet playing and how the sound played off of the other instruments was unparalleled at the time. His contributions and techniques play a large part in changing jazzmusic from a folksy sound to more of the swing sound we attribute to the genre today. Armstrong had amazing timing and rhythm as well as an ear for the music which set him above the rest and propelled him to the top of the jazz music scene. In his songs you can hear how much his trumpet stands out and the level of skill during trumpet solos and how he uses the tone and vibrato of the instrument in order to give the sound we, to this day, associate with him. His technique at the trumpet was revolutionary for the time and Armstrong would help shape what the Jazz movement would become. (Ramsey) Philosophy Louis grew up in a negative environment and understood how bad life could be and because of this he tried to always make people smile. He was a humble man, even though being one of the greatest celebrities of the twentieth Century (Louis). He was an Entertainer, not just an artist and wanted to touch as many people he could with his music and wanted everyone to have a good time. Double Cross System In May, 1940 when Winston Churchill became Prime Minister, he wanted fifth columnists be rooted out completely because he felt that they were working behind to aid Hitler and could not accept that the victories of Germany from Western Europe to Norway could entirely be caused by their weapons and tactical superiority. He realised that Vernon Kell, the head of security service had stayed on for far too long so he replaced him with Jasper Hacker who was also not up to the task and he too was changed in a period that the entire Security Service appear to be chaotic after Hitler s invasion in France and Mi5 inability to cope with huge increase in business. In the movie productions of And Then There Were None and A Wrinkle In Time, the directors did not follow the original storyline of the book. There are many differences between the books and the movies, but there is also similarities. While most of the movie follows the storyline, there are some changes made to the storyline. These changes made in the movie impacted the storyline a lot. In A Wrinkle In Time, one of the biggest differences from the book is the plotsequencing in the movie. The movie first starts with Meg at school daydreaming about her father and her talking with each other on their stargazing rock, where in the book it starts with Meg talking about the thunderstorm. Another difference is, in the middle of the movie, Meg meets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. There s Nothing More Dangerous Than Someone Who Wants For... Banksy states, There s nothing more dangerous than someone who wants to make the world a better place . Sarcastic no doubt, it is essential to realise that the notion of vandals and graffiti artists are slightly different. Vandals are miscreants and cause damage and destruction to society where as graffitiartists though they can be deemed as vandals, compared to absolute destruction of society, they create art for the society to see. Unluckily for graffiti artists there contrast to vandals is quite evident throughout the social order and most known in the eyes of the police. Conversely, stated in the questions quote banksy states that vandals want to make the world a better place not graffiti artists in general. It appears that perhaps graffiti artists wish to make the world a better looking place, not as much as vandals wanting to make a destructive wasteland. If police officers wish to brand the world a better a place they must start in their society and a core issue in suburban societies is vandals, though this embraces graffiti artists, damaging vandals are most certainly more of an issue on society than the graffiti artist, perhaps banksy has not given himself any justice in regards to his quote. The main ideal of this quote is that graffiti is not harming, but beatifying society, however, to society graffiti is seen as a defacement of private property and not a form of art for the world to see. This is the style most associate with in school since teachers usually verbally teach and use reading techniques for their students. A physical learner is able to act out information or perform it in a physical manner is able to retain the information better than sitting in a lecture and listening to the information being delivered. Logical styles of learning are common with those who like mathematics. Being able to have reason behind what is being taught helps them to identify with the subject and gain a better understanding. The last two styles are social and solitary, which can relate to a persons social life. Some are better at learning with study groups and group projects while others prefer a private learning environment. (advanogy.com 2004). If a person has a strength or preference in one learning style, it does not mean they are unable to learn in other styles. It simply means that they will retain information more efficiently if it is delivered in their preferred style. Most information is delivered verbally, but visual learners are still able to obtain the information just not as easily or quickly as a verbal learner. Whether read or spoken, the word esteemed holds more credibility associated than famous, just as plain can be viewed more negatively than simple. Take out the words and people start depending on other clues to formulate an opinion on a particular person or situation. Body language can be a major part of this judgement, conveying mood, comfortability, formality, and so on. Clothing choice, too, contributes to the way people perceive one another. People use cliche titles such as hispter, emo, and basic to describe a person, going off of wardrobe alone. Despite the connotation of the wordjudgement, not all judgement is inherently negative. Egocentric can be defined as having little or no regard for interests or attitudes other than one s own. Throughout the novel, The Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence the use of egocentrism is heavily exampled. As well as the play write King Lear by William Shakespeare also illustrates the trait of egocentricity. The characters Hagar Shipley (The Stone Angel) and King Lear (King Lear) both demonstrate slight regard for opinions other than one s own. When a character abandons egocentricity incorrect assumptions are no longer made, thus a new perspective will prevail. To begin, both Hagar and Lear express an egocentric personality. Such as, Hagar and Lear express stubbornness when it comes to other opinions. Hagar is stubborn towards her father, Jason Currie. During a flashback, Hagar tells her father that she will marry Bram, It ll be done by me (49). After her father disagrees with the marriage, Hagar communicates no regard concerning his opinion and marries Bram anyways. As for King Lear, he as well is stubborn towards Kent. Although, there rules that apply to both forms of storytelling. The first rule is that the story incorporates paralinguistic mechanisms such as pausing, space, etc. (Bauman). The second rule is that the story flows naturally, and clearly makes sense. It is not allowed that a storyteller has a story that is choppy or jumpy to the point that the viewer does not understand. One of the most important rules is that the storyteller succeeds in continuing the story in alphabetical, or numerical, order. Similarly, if one tells the story in the reverse order, one cannot skip a letter, or number (Bauman). Lastly, for alphabetical stories there are allowable deviations and those that are not allowed. For example, many storytellers interchange 2 hand shapes such as N, H, U, and V. This deviation, along with the interchange of the 3 hand shapes M and W, are allowable deviations (Bauman). However, the usage of the time out sign as T in A Z stories is an example of a deviation that is not allowed (Bauman). These vital rules to alphabetical and numerical storytelling aid in contributing to the overall purpose. An aggregate is not a group but a collection of people who briefly share the same physical space but do not see themselves as belonging together. • 27. Female Roles In Dystopian Literature In a research done by Mcclantoc (2016), it can be deduced that the main ingredient of a good dystopian literature are the main protagonists who induce some kind of social change in their society or world. This applies regardless of the two types of dystopia; one that is apparent or in the guise of a utopia. In dystopian literature, the main characters are the average person. They are usually male characters. At the beginning of the story, they noticed the flaws in their society and question or disagree with it. The characters are devised and carefully laid out that they eventually show initiative to induce change in their society or world. Yet, the main female characterwho is included in the story alongside the main character serves as a trigger or guide to initiate the main character to make a change for their dystopic society or world. Despite how hard the female character provides aid to the main male character, she does not rise to be in the spotlight in the story. The theory by Gottelieb (2001) observed the criterion of how the female protagonistis viewed and portrayed in dystopian literature. • 28. Theory Of The Permafrost Theory Permafrost theory The third medium explored as a heat sink for the heat exchanger is permafrost. Permafrost is soil that is frozen year round. The top layer of permafrost experiences an active change in temperature over the year. However, the permafrost retains a constant annual temperature a couple meters below the surface. The constant below freezing temperature of the permafrost makes it a potential heat sink for the heat exchanger. The permafrost is treated as a solid for our exploratory analysis of it as the heat sink. Therefore, for the purposes of our models, conduction is the primary mode of heat transfer out of the heat exchanger system when permafrost is used as the surrounding medium. Fourier s Law is used as the fundamental equation used in all of the heat exchanger analysis. Fourier s Law: q = k∇T Where: q = Heat flux k = Thermal conductivity ∇T = Temperature gradient A basic model of the heat exchanger is a pipe carrying the CO2 through permafrost. The inlet temperature, outlet temperature, and heat rate out are all known variables. The dimensions of a simple tubular heat exchanger are found using the general heat exchanger equation. General Heat Exchanger Equation: q=UA∆T Where: Q = Heat rate U = Overall heat transfer coefficient A = Outer surface area О”T = Change in temperature The pipe experiences heat transfer by means of internal convection from the CO2, conduction through the pipes material, and conduction from the permafrost. • 29. Switched Reluctance Motor ( Srm ) Essay Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has merits of rigid and simple structure, simple converter circuit with fault tolerance, high starting torque, premium speed regulation performance, high speed capability, high torque to inertia ratio. However, the SRM suffers from noticeable torque ripple due to discrete nature of the torque production, acoustic noises, high nonlinear characteristics due to the doubly saliency structure. The nonlinearity in the operation of the SRM complicates the analysis as well as the control of the motor [1 5]. Based on the modelling of SRM magnetic circuit, three models of SRM are found in literature: linear model, nonlinear model without mutual inductances, and nonlinear model with mutual inductances. Linear models in [6,7] are designed and simulated readily. On contrast nonlinear models are obtained after a large set of experimental tests to obtain the magnetic characteristics [8 15], or from a finite element method (FEM) analysis [16 18], which takes into consideration the saturation of rotor and stator materials. The nonlinear model is preferable when accurate precision is wanted. The converter used with SRM requires at least one switch per phase due to unidirectional phase current. This is a big advantage when compared to the converters for AC motor drives. Some configurations of converters used in SRM drives are presented in [19 22]. The half bridge asymmetric converter is the most widely used for SRM drive applications, because of its high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary Of For He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne Love tends to be the topic of many poetic literary works, whether it be the joys that come with it or the pains suffered because of it, but what can be made of the love that results in both? In the poem, For He Looked Not upon Her, George Gascoigne already makes that message clear through his title: sometimes, there is reason not to desire what we can not help but long for. When his audience reads the work, they are meant to discover that reason behind why He would not look upon Her . Through the speakers form, diction, and imagery that he utilizes in the poem, it becomes clear that his tone towards loveis wary, yet also conflictingly longing. Starting with form, we can split Gascoigne s poem into three parts that depict what love feels like in the speaker s experience: lines 1 4, lines 5 10, and lines 11 14. In the first part, the speaker almost seems to be addressing the audience when he says, You must not wonder... , but it soon becomes apparent he is speaking to a specific person when he describes features in the fourth line, About the gleams which on your face do grow. This means the first part is personal to him and him alone. Then in lines 5 10, he offers examples of two creatures who learn from past injuries, as if backing up a claim where he has somehow been injured as well. That claim soon follows in the last 4 lines when he reverts back to his personal point of view, Because your blazing eyes my bale have bred. The speaker is cautious of someone, most ... Leadership and Organization Structure Essay Leadership and Organization Structure All organizations have a structure; criminal justice is much as the military in regards to having a chain of command that delegates his/her authority downward from the major command element (Stohr Collins, 2014). Is it smoke, lights, and loud music reminiscent of some sort of sanctified bar room? Does it require music or sound at all? What exactly is required of an individual who wishes to glorify his Creator and Redeemer? These are the questions that will be discussed in this paper. What is worship? It can be defined as many things from solitude and prayer with God; It may involve music to some, in an effort to draw one closer into the presence of the Almighty. The best definition of worship is this: it is an end unto itself; it is not a means unto something else. When we try to worship for the sake of certain benefits that may be received, the act ceases to be worship; for then it attempts to use God as a means to something else. (Segler 5) It may be nigh unto impossible to pinpoint a single form of worship that is applicable to everyone, but a single concept must be present for all believers. This is the concept of surrender and obedience to God. It is the humbleness to something greater than oneself. It the realization that man is nothing but sand on the seashore, while God is an endless sea. Mankind is finite; he is only given a few years, while God is the Ancient of Days. Whether this humble surrender is in the silence of solitude or in the presence of other believers, it is foolish to speculate. Worship is to quicken the conscience to the ... Immigration policy historically has been influenced by our country s fear to uphold traditional American culture often rooted in a sense of anti immigration and xenophobia. We perpetuate this by allowing the criminalization of communities of color, mainly with the large Latino population in the U.S. A large portion of the immigrants who arrive in the country are fleeing dangerous homelands pitted with economic and political turmoil. Their situation is worsened by our country s broken immigrationsystem where families are separated, immigrants are exploited as work labor, discrimination is rampant, and the pathways to citizenship are convoluted at best. We as a country need to uphold our values of freedom and equality when immigrants come to our country and reform our immigration system to be more reflective of this. In light of the recent occurrences with ISIS related terrorism committed by foreigners such as the San Bernardino shooting or the Orlando night club shooting, there has been some resistance from the country in regards to immigration. The city still had to confront all the issues related to poverty and wages, so the workers decided that their best option for them to be heard, was through a march (Meyerson, 2000). As the marchers began to walk down Wilshire Boulevard from downtown to Century City, they experience many surprises. As they walked the cars kept honking at them, not become of anger, but because they were trying to signal their support for the movement (Meyerson, 2000). As the movement continued, there was a lot more support then what they believed they would get.
