Fast mirror tilting systems are used in applications like satellite communication and aviation to stabilize laser beams and lines of sight. MICRO-EPSILON supplies high resolution eddy current displacement sensors integrated into these systems to measure mirror tilt with angular resolutions of less than 1 microradian. The sensors measure the distance to the mirror from four positions, and calculate tilt based on any distance changes, enabling closed-loop control of the mirror system. These sensors provide accurate measurements even in harsh environments like high temperatures and vacuum.
