The document summarizes a test rig developed by Micro-Epsilon in cooperation with Festo to test pneumatic actuators called "muscles". The test rig uses a laser-based sensor to measure the displacement of the muscle when compressed air is applied. A force transducer and pressure transducer also collect data. The signals are analyzed in ICONNECT software to determine velocity and acceleration. The measured and calculated values are displayed as curves along with statistical values for minimum, maximum, and mean. The display can be printed or exported, and raw data can be exported to Excel for further analysis.
Sigma-Delta Analog to Digital ConvertersSatish Patil
In recent years Sigma-Delta ADCs became one of the most popular types of Analog-to-Digital converters. The key features of these are high-speed, high resolution and low operating voltages. These are commonly used in variety of applications like digital audio CDs, CODEC, biomedical sensor applications and wireless transmitters/receivers. The basic principles involved in this technique are oversampling and noise shaping. This report reviews different techniques proposed for high resolution, low power Sigma-Delta ADC. Conventional design of SDM was dominated by discrete time architecture but in modern designs continuous types are also becoming famous because of their low power attributes. Continuous efforts have been taken to reduce the supply voltages of SDM and recently, lowest reported is 250mv.
Endurance Testing of Aircraft Electro-Hydraulic Actuator Using LabVIEWWaqas Tariq
In Aerospace Industry, Automated Test System at the qualification and certification laboratory improves characterization accuracy and plays a vital role to prove the airworthiness of the aircraft components. It is very helpful in achieving high quality standards of aircraft components by meeting the predefined qualification and certification test criteria. This paper outlines a comprehensive design and development of an Endurance Automated Test System for performing qualification and certification testing of Electro-Hydraulic (EH) Aircraft Actuator uses LabVIEW Graphical Test Software platform. This method is aimed at replacing the tedious and time consuming traditional method of performing the endurance testing for Aircraft Actuators.
In this day and age of automated computer control valve sizing, the logic and theories behind it are invisible. In his presentation, Al Holton of Allagash Valve & Controls will look at the basic principles that apply and how they affect the application and installation of a wide range of control valve types. He will also review the reasoning behind valve type selection.
One of the leading branches of engineering, Instrumentation engineering deals in mechanics and operation of measuring instruments. This type of engineering has a major role in the industries which have automated processes. For example, chemical and manufacturing industries. The role of engineers in this field is to ensure stability, reliability, safety, and enhanced productivity.
Instrumentation engineering covers various topics and subjects from other branches of engineering, which makes it a different course in the field of engineering. Students who prefer to study diverse subjects should opt for this branch of engineering. Ekeeda offers Online Instrumentation Engineering Courses for all the Subjects as per the Syllabus.

mined: one was the velocity and the other the acce-
leration of the contraction. First, the signals were
converted (scaled) in the desired value range. In the
next stage they were zeroed with the autozero
parameters, i.e. offset within the value range. The
measurement parameters indicate which signals are
to be recorded. Channels not required are masked
out.
The two quantities of velocity and acceleration were
found by numerical differentiation of the displace-
ment signal. First however, smoothing is necessary
by a low-pass filter, because for technical reasons
the measured signal is slightly noisy.
Since the data recording occurs at a substantially
higher sampling rate than can then be displayed, the
five signals are reduced by resampling. Finally, they
are collected in a data buffer and output to the two
visual representations.
