Analysis Of The Text The Of The Bible
There are many things which are similar and differences in both texts about the whole story of
creation, some of them are noteworthy and would be explained as the essay proceeds. Philo, in his
interpretation of the text was more lenient and warm in his attitude towards women. He does not cite
woman as to be the mother of all evil and suffering in heaven and earth, and he has a warmth towards
woman while handling issues of creation(Charlesworth. et al, 2010 ). While Midrash is a little cynical
of the role of woman in heaven and earth. The first similarity between the two interpretations can be
observed by the question as to why does scripture call the likeliness of woman a building ? it is
explained in both texts that the harmonious coming together of man and woman is figuratively a
house, and everything which is without a woman is imperfect and homeless. Man is entrusted the
public state of affairs, while the woman holds the affairs of home. While a woman is near home,
household management is proper and diligent.
The second question to which we find the similar interpretation of both Philo and Midrash was why
was woman, unlike other animals and man, was not formed from earth and created by side of man.
The first reason both interpretations present is that woman is not equal in honor with man. The second
is that woman is not equal in age to man, and she is younger to man in age. Both interpretations
suggest that man should take care of woman as necessary part of him, and

Startup.Com Movie Reaction Paper
Startup.com shows the perils of going into business with a shaky business plan. It shows the initial
excitement, the rise and fame, the bumping of heads and the eventual downfall. Such is the story of
govworks.com, the documentary, startup.com covers it s first, and only, year in business.
Long time friends, Tom Herman and Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, had a great business idea, with a large
market, and little competition. They took something that nearly everyone goes through, and marketed
it in a more efficient way. They wanted to make the DMV more efficient, specifically; they wanted to
allow consumers to quickly and securely pay their traffic tickets online. This business plan parallels
Netflix in many ways, as it took something that we were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A company that conversely was very successful in finding its niche is Geek Squad. When given the
opportunity to expand they were hesitant, and took their time. They built their brand, then expanded,
while GovWorks expanded before having a chance to see how the company would grow in the long
term. Another thing that led to their downfall was that Herman and Isaza Tuzman found themselves
butting heads in the way the company was run. They displayed a lack of training about the
fundamentals of making an Internet firm work; Herman s low key personality clashed with Isaza
Tuzman s business first approach, and eventually Herman was forced out of the company he had
helped to found by his longtime friend. While going into business with another person can be an asset,
it s always key to remember the boundaries of business and friendship. When two people don t meet
eye to eye on the basics of how they want their business to run, it s a recipe for disaster.
Going into business doesn t just involve a good idea. It involves planning and knowing how to use the
right people in the right resources. Bill Stewart explained how although he knows a lot about
packaged foods, he doesn t know everything, and he knows when to bring in other people who know
what they are doing to help further his company. It also involves knowing what parts of your business
to expand, and when. One huge factor that Herman

Core Skills Self Reflective Essay
Core Skills Self reflective Essay In this essay I will go through the most important skills that I
acquired in the last few years in relation to the ones needed in the industry. In addition, I will also look
at my weaknesses and what I can do to overcome them. Since I started my studies and up to this date,
I have learned a lot about what is required to work in the Aviation industry. There is a wide range of
skills required, although most of them apply to roles one can take on in the specific industry. In other
words, some skills are more role specific. Reflecting on my skills, I believe I have excellent social,
communication and language skills. These skills are essential in any customer facing or team work
oriented job. As explained by Morgeson, F. P. et al. in Selecting individuals in team settings: The
importance of social skills, personality characteristics, and teamwork knowledge. (2005): Social skills
are particularly important in team settings because working in teams increases the interdependence
among workers, typically producing greater conflict, workload sharing, and coordination demands
than work that is performed independently... I have always been a people person and my
communication with people is very good. It gives me great pleasure to make other people laugh and
cater for their needs. It has never been difficult for me to form new friendships and maintain existing
ones. For instance, when I was in primary school, I had made a lot of friends, four

Bilingual Education Act Report
to Baker (1997), this legislation was designed to assist Spanish speaking students who were failing in
school. Senator Yarborough explained that the bill was needed because of the failure of the school
system to educate Spanish speaking students that was reflected in comparative dropout rates (Lyons,
1990). The Hispanic dropout rate was close to 75 percent in certain areas (Ovando et al., 2006). In
1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Bilingual Education Act into law, which indicated the
first commitment made by the U.S. government to address the special needs that ELLs bring to public
schools (Crawford, 1989). According to Wiese Garcia (2001), the BEA of 1968 represented the main

This legislation undermined the English only legislation still official in some states (Baker, 1997). The
original Bilingual Education Act of 1968 had the following main purposes: (1) increase English
language skills. (2) maintain and perhaps increase mother tongue skills, and (3) support the cultural
heritage of the student (Leibowitz, 1980, p. 24). According to Crawford (1989), the White House
exerted pressure on Congress to approve no funding for Title VII during the first year. In 1969, a
scanty appropriation of $7.5 million was sufficient to just fund projects that served 27,000 ELLs

African-American Organized Crime In The 1930 s
African American Organized Crime Almost most organized crime was ___by Italian, Jewish and Irish
gangsters. African American organized crime emerged because it was able to meet general social
needs (Schatzberg 4). The conditions under which African Americans lived during the Depression and
Prohibition years were dreadful. The economic frustration and the racism that they suffered enabled
them to ___criminal behavior in order to deal with the hostility. Harlem endured greater levels of
poverty, illness, overcrowding and crime compared to other city neighborhoods in 1930. The Harlem
gangs formed out of social unrest and racial inequality and were involved in gambling especially the

by the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. In 1930, legislation for a new and independent federal agency
concerned with the problem of illicit narcotics was introduced on June 9 of that year and the

In 1954 This Is When Vietnam Was Divided Into Two States
In 1954 this is when Vietnam was divided into two states known as the, communist North Vietnam
and non communist South Vietnam. When Vietnamese communists began attacking South Vietnam,
the United States sent out their troops to support and help. Over five hundred thousand United States
troops were fighting in care of South Vietnam. Ultimately, many Americans soon came to believe that
the US troops should be withdrawn from the Vietnam war. It became one of the most conflict ridden
and ostracized causes in U.S. history. In 1973, a break in fighting agreement with North Vietnam was
signed and U.S. forces withdrew. Just two years later, Vietnam was brought together under communist
power.

The Vietminh controlled North Vietnam, and South Vietnam was being governed under the emperor
Bao Dai. There was supposed to be an election held in two years to set up a lasting rule, but the United

Southeast Asia Treaty Organization to defend Indochina from communist antagonism. The United
States maintained the new leader Ngo Dinh Diem when he took control in South Vietnam. Vietcong,

The United States had been sending support to South Vietnam and facilitated them to create the Army

The Essure Medical Device Analysis
Originally, the company Conceptus manufactured the Essure Permanent Birth Control System, which
was first approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Nov. 4, 2002. In 2013,
Bayer purchased Conceptus and the companies merged. According to Bayer, more than 750,000
women use this birth control system to prevent pregnancy, with approximately 70 percent of these
women residing within the U.S.
The Essure Medical Device
The Essure Medical Device consists of flexible coils that are non surgically placed within the
Fallopian tubes. This device is a permanent form of birth control.
Essure s flexible coils are inserted through the vagina, past the cervix and into the Fallopian tubes.
Once inserted, the device causes a build up of the tissue within the Fallopian tubes. Over a period of
approximately three months, this tissue blocks the Fallopian tubes; thus, preventing the sperm from
traveling through them to fertilize an egg.
Three months following insertion, a radiologist checks to make sure that the Fallopian tubes are
blocked. Directly before the x ray is taken, a contrast dye is injected through the patient s cervix to
ensure that there is no leakage of dye past the Essure Medical Device.

How do both The Stranger by Albert Camus and A Doll’s...
From the very first line of Albert Camus The Stranger, Maman died today, (Camus 3) the quirky
character of Meursault is shown to be different. The same holds true with Henrik Ibsen s classic play,
A Doll s House, concerning Nora, a mother who abandons her family in order to pursue her own
happiness. Both characters, while set in opposing societies, exhibit similar characteristics: a
courageous, if not reckless, pursuit of happiness, be it physical in the case of Meursault or mental for
Nora, and the relentless disregard of social standards and norms in the chase for free will. Both Ibsen
and Camus use the pervading theme of free will to evolve the characters of Nora and Meursault,
specifically incorporating ideas such as existentialism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nora, unlike Meursault, is contained by a mental block, a societal influence that dresses her, feeds her,
makes her dance the Tarantula, and ultimately loathe her place in the literal Dolls house. Nora, called
many pet names such as a little spend thrift (Ibsen 2), a squirrel (2), and her husband, Torvald s little
songbird (25), faces constant reminders of her oppression. Like Meursault, Nora yearns for the all
encompassing feeling of free will, and once she gets a taste, the ache becomes a severe painful longing
until, as Torvald accurately predicts, she dances as if [her] life depended on it (48).
Both Nora and Meursault act outrageously in the viewpoint of their communities in the quest for free
will. As Torvald s wife, Nora is expected to keep the house beautifully and have everything just as
Torvald likes it! (13). However, after experiencing the freedom and power that her financial deal with
Krogstad gives her, Nora finds the dollhouse she once found solace in confining and suffocating.
Following the unraveling of her secret business transaction and the turn of unexpected events, Nora
finally plucks up the courage to take life for herself, leaving her home, husband, and children in her
wake. While Nora s society degrades strong women for not being obedient wives, Nora forsakes the
comfort in social norms to determine her own future and capture the remaining strings of free will that

Moldavite Pendant Research Paper
The Log Bench What I need, I told myself, is to take the dogs for a walk. Maybe then I ll remember.
Two weeks I d spent looking for my grandmother s Moldavite pendant. I d been going crazy retracing
my steps notwithstanding the sentimental significance it held for me. Lying on her death bed, my
grandmother had given it to me for protection when I was fourteen. She cautioned me of the strong
energies it held and that this pendant would protect me from negative entities. Her great aunt had
given it to her with warnings of the intense frequency and high vibration that resonated from this
stone. Grandmother claimed it had brought true love into her life shortly after it was bequeathed to
her. My grandfather had served in both wars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Remembering the intense reaction I d felt from the first time my grandmother had placed the pendant
into my palm and thereupon I knew that he was genuinely speaking. Continuing he added, If you look
to the south of the nest you will see your home. Ever since you were entrusted with the pendant I have
been watching as it s been my duty from the beginning of time to safeguard the Moldavite pendant
and its keeper. There have been many keepers of the pendant hence their reward has been protection.
Placing this pendant into the wrong hands would have an adverse impact on the earth and mankind as
it can be used destructively. It s natural green crystals have powerful transforming abilities that should

replied as I cast my gaze downwards, but I lost it a couple weeks ago. I ve searched everywhere to no
avail. My grandmother entrusted me with it and now it s gone. I ve no idea where to search next. Will
you help me find it? Sparkles appeared in the crows eyes as he replied, It s here under my wing, and
pulled a silvery chain from under his wing. Beautiful arcs of rays projected all around us from this
delicate, oval, forest green pendant as the sunlight touched

Rhetorical Modes Of Pathos In Ursula Le Guin
One can unknowingly suffer for the sake of society s convenience. Both authors, Ray
Bradbury and Ursula Le Guin, demonstrate the suffering that the protagonist endures in order to serve
their society. A variety of rhetorical strategies and modes contribute to the overall role of the
protagonists. Ray Bradbury uses personification and the rhetorical mode of pathos to convey the
oblivious suffering that the protagonist, the smart house , undergoes. Ursula Le Guin utilizes diction
and the rhetorical mode of pathos to demonstrate the society s dependency on the life of a young,
hopeless boy. Through the authors use of diction, personification, and the rhetorical mode of pathos,
readers can view both short stories in a new criticism lense and juxtapose two societies that feature a
suffering aspect in each story.
In Ray Bradbury s short story, August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains , the protagonist is the only
house left standing in Allendale, California after a nuclear explosion.
However, the protagonist is not an average house. The house is technologically programmed to carry
out all of the tasks and duties of an ordinary family. Although the family that lived in the house before
the explosion are no longer present, the house carries out its scheduled routine. At the beginning of the
story, Bradbury explains that memory tapes glided and chimed out the passing time while no doors
slammed, no carpets took the soft tread of rubber heels . The house has become abandoned, yet, it
continues to exercise its daily functions. Ray Bradbury also gives
Robinson 2 life to the house in a way that it seems to be a human. The weather box on the front door
sang quietly: rain, rain, go away; rubbers, raincoats for today... is a prime example of the way
Bradbury brings life to the empty house. Another example of personification that Bradbury uses in his
short story is, It quivered at each sound, the house did. If a sparrow brushed a window, the shade
snapped up. The house seems to have a mind of its own. In August 2026: There Will
Come Soft Rains, the house continues to function even though the family and residents of the town
has suffered from the nuclear explosion. In Ray Bradbury s August 2026: There Will
Come Soft

Brushtail Possums Research Paper
If you were to take a midnight stroll through New Zealand wilderness, you would more than likely run
into a brushtail possum. This Australian marsupial has large pointed ears, grey fur, and a bushy tail,
hence its name. Though appearing cute and fluffy, be forewarned, for this little critter is one of the
most voracious predators in all of New Zealand. Today, many New Zealanders consider possums to be
public enemy #1. Now nearing a population of 30 million in a country similar in size of the state of

and spread diseases such as the bovine tuberculosis to cows and other livestock (Groves, 2005).

The Foolishness Of Jim Crow Laws
I m tired of all this foolishness. Everywhere I glance there are signs that read Whites and Colored. Jim
Crow Laws are everywhere and they re a number of laws requiring racial segregation. Jim Crow Laws
created segregation and discrimination against African Americans. People judge us by what they see,
the color of our skin instead of us as an individual. Everyone s human and no one should feel any
lesser than anybody, we all have feeling and sometimes I even feel terrible because of the way I get
treated. Everyone should be equal no matter the shade of color because that doesn t mean you can t
have the same rights as others. People see African Americans as less just because of the simple fact we
re black. Therefore, I m going to take all my pride and stand up for what I believe.
I m going to stop all this nonsense. I m going to make the world better and I will make history. I don t
want people to suffer the way I did and still am, I want them to live happy. I want people to be happy
of who they are and feel proud of themselves no matter what anybody has to say. I want people to
have a future and succeed, I just want the best. I want people to follow in my footsteps and say King
stood up for what he believed in and I want to do the same thing. I want to be an inspiration for the
next generation and because I know every African American wants the same thing, which is respect
and equality I will stand up for them. Even Though I know many people want this change, many
people are not willing to do what it takes because of the simple fact there scared. Believe me I m
scared too I don t know what s going to come out of this. Yes, I m running a really huge risk but I m
doing it for my people. I m willing to give up everything and anything just for there to be world peace
and equality. I ve been told to always strive for what I believe in and that s what I m going to do.
I don t like the fact that white people feel as if they re better than blacks and colored. I m not saying
that blacks and colored people are better either. I just don t know what lead people to think like this. In
all reality the world would be a better and healthier place if there was no type of discrimination.

Prisoners In Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
In Plato s Allegory of the Cave, Plato describes a cave where prisoners are chained by their legs and
necks. Since their motions are restricted, they can only see what is directly in front of them. By
deciphering the images that are reflected on the wall in front of them; they can only imagine the
outside world and create their own reality. A prisoner is released to the outside world and realizes that
the items that he and the other prisoners had deciphered in the cave were only illusions. Once outside
the cave, the prisoner sees the beautiful world and is not going to want to return to the cave. Plato
compares the cave dwellers to men lacking education and are not fit to preside over the city. They are
without a sense of purpose or duty.

The Causes Of Valley Forge
Imagine living under brutal conditions in a rundown, secluded fort, far away from home and knowing
that you could die at any minute. What would you do? During the winter of 1777 to 1778, George
Washington s Continental Army set up their post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest
of Philadelphia. It was not big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a
mill for forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for Washington s
men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that maybe that hadn t been such a
good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Army should have left Valley Forge because of death and
illness, living conditions in camp (lack of food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress.
Although Thomas Paine s words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn
t change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in the camp. To begin,
the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were many soldiers who began dying of death
and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of
8,000 soldiers were sick , which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974).
According to researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was 1,800
out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers (10%). Finally, at the end

Minimum Wage Pros And Cons Essay
Cons of the minimum wage: As discussed earlier, the minimum wage would ultimately increase
unemployment levels due to the labour getting costlier. This would not only threaten the current
workers, but would also affect the unemployed people looking for jobs. Securing a job would be more
challenging as employers would want to hire the best possible candidates who they deem worthy of
the minimum wage.
10 Another disadvantage of having a minimum wage is the Deadweight loss from Minimum Wage .
Plenty of people who work in the unorganised sector, have those jobs because they are willing to work
for less. They provide cheap labour and thus are affordable to hire in those industries. However, with

The film Amelie provides multiple examples of individuals sacrificing, and applying Campbell s
moral objective to their own lives. One of the people from the film that follow the objective is
Dominique Bretodeau. When he was a young boy, he lost his treasure box. Directly after it was
returned to him from a stranger, he began to tear up over the lost memories that the box contained. He
then confides in people at the bar that he has not spoken to his daughter in years, and because of this
does not know his grandson. This simple act of kindness was enough to make Bretodeau sacrifice his
pride enough to reconcile with his daughter and grandson. He had no idea if his family was going to
open their arms, or push him away for being away for so long. This failed to stop Bretodeau. This
journey of becoming a hero was a spiritual one. Most of the conflict happened within his own heart. A

The Is A Severe Disorder
Prosopagnosia is a severe disorder which the person cannot recognize recognizable people from the
face. Prosopagnosia is also known as face blindness. Face blindness is a recognized disorder; it can
vary from person to person and situation to situation. It is not an issue with vision or absent
mindedness. People with prosopagnosia have trouble with physical recognition. Recognition and
memory are different. Memory is the thoughts, opinions and past experiences that is in our mind. The
face is the key to accessing the memory of the person. We may forget someone here and there, but that
s not a big deal. People with prosopagnosia forget often and could even forget their family. While
some people have a very selective impairment that only influences the recognition of faces, others find
have the disorder that extends to the recognition of other stimuli, such as objects, cars, or animals.
Many people also report deficits in other aspects of face processing, such as judging age or gender,
recognizing certain emotional expressions, or following the direction of a person s eye gaze. Finally, a
substantial proportion of prosopagnosics reports navigational difficulties. (Sarah Bate 2015)

secondary to hyperthyroidism. Signs of the disease are hyperexcitability, vomiting, diarrhea, increased
thirst, increased urination, and weight loss even with increased appetite. The hyperthyroidism is
diagnosed by clinical signs, symptoms, and blood tests to check hormone levels and chemistry panels.
Surgery to remove the thyroid is a cure to eliminate hyperthyroidism, but a thyroidectomy will require
hormone medication for the rest of the animal s life. As with any surgery with anesthesia, there is a
risk, and since the parathyroid gland is in close proximity to the thyroid gland, care must be taken to
not damage the parathyroid gland. Medication to control the production of excess T3 and T4 hormone
is a treatment, not a cure for the disease. However, if the animal has side effects which have to be dealt
with, daily dosing of anti thyroid medication, and veterinarian visits for blood tests fall to the
responsibility of the owner. Radioactive iodine therapy is a safe, effective way to kill the thyroid
abnormal tissue, providing another cure for hyperthyroidism. An injection of the radioactive iodine is
performed by the veterinarian and the iodine is engrossed by the bloodstream, with no adverse side
effects or the risk of anesthesia. Since this treatment is radioactive, hospitalization after injection must
be adhered until the

Design A Novel Strategy Targeting Asd Risk Genes Involved...
There is a critical need to design a novel strategy targeting ASD risk genes involved in the Wnt
pathway. The major gap in current knowledge that we will address in this proposal is to determine
how PV neuron specific CTNNB1 KO affects animal behaviors and to what extent Wnt agonists
reverse the behavioral deficits. We expect to identify the defect that is involved in PV neurons specific
to CTNNB1 knockout mice. Moreover, we have identified several bioactive compounds with diverse
mechanisms of action that can potentiate the Wnt pathway in human NPCs, including approved drugs
and probes suitable for in vivo use31, 32. Repurposing these drugs for ASD will be exciting because
they act through different mechanisms than current experimental therapies now. Our cKO mice
provide an ideal animal model to examine the extent to which targeting Wnt pathway can ameliorate
the behavioral deficits. If small molecules targeting Wnt pathway in this study can alleviate behavioral
deficits, a whole new druggable pathway will further identify more active molecules/drugs that can be
directly applied to the ASD patients. This contribution will be significant because it is an important
step to allow modulation of the Wnt signaling pathway at interneurons and may lead to development
of a pharmacologic approach to correct ASD related behavioral defects, thereby improving the lives of
ASD patients. What is learned in this study will be applicable to other ASDs caused by mutations

Competitive Forces Analysis Of Amazon
Competitive Forces Analysis. Amazon, Google, and Apple each have competitive advantages in
various markets; however, one specific market proved difficult for Amazon to cultivate a competitive
advantage. Shaping competition, the five forces, known as threats of new entrants, power of suppliers,
power of buyers, threats of substitutes, and existing rivalry, determine industry profitability and
influence the ability to gain competitive advantage (Rothaermel, 2017). Notably, failing to understand
the forces can results in negative gains. Within the U.S. technology industry, the smartphone market
has strong competitive forces, yet profit potential. In particular, the smartphone market has established
firms, such as Google and Apple, each with large market shares, which lessens profitability potential
for new entrants. Nevertheless, Amazon, pursuing a differentiation strategy, attempted to develop and
market the Fire smartphone in 2014 to diversify business activities (Rothaemel McKay, 2015). One
force Amazon encountered was the presence of entry barriers. Established firms, Google and Apple,
had proven brand recognition, economies of scale, and loyal consumer base in the smartphone
industry, and an entering firm, such as Amazon, faced risk. From Amazon s view, entering into the
smartphone market required significant capital investment, with unpredictable effects, to develop a
differentiated, price competitive product. Furthermore, the threat of substitutes was high

Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively, Dalai Lama XIV. This happens to be my
favorite quote as it shows that we aren t always expected to follow the rules, and in that it is
acceptable to be immoral or unethical at some times. In some instances it is even necessary to be
immoral or unethical such as when you are being attacked and we all make mistakes. If we are unable
to be immoral or unethical then how are we supposed to defend ourselves if we are attacked. We pay
our military to kill and wound enemies of our country, and we also pay taxes to supply our military

The Importance Of The Relevance Of The Data
The importance of the relevance of the data has been identified since the very early work in context
aware ubiquitous systems. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the
QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware
systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime
uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We
formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects
2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty
A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects
QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well
designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed
the challenges in modeling the
QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly
quantified according to the
QoC requirements. Castro et al. [6] investigated the accuracy of a location sensing service was
compromised. Ranganathan et al. [7] used predicate and probabilistic logic to assign confidence
values from 0 to 1 for every type of context. Dey et al. [1] suggested that mediation with the user can
help to reduce the uncertainty. QoC is modeled as meta data where additional information about the
quality of the context source is utilized to capture the uncertainty. Krause and

Conformity And Expectation In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey
In Jane Austen s novel Northanger Abbey, conformity is a very prominent recurring theme. The main
character Catherine Morland fails to conform to the clichés of a typical literary heroine and woman in
the aristocratic society. As a child she never enjoyed the more girly activities, she had no taste for a
garden, and if she gathered flowers at all, it was chiefly for the pleasure of mischief, (Austen 5). As a
young teenager she was quite foolish and awkward. The narrator stated at the beginning of the novel
No one who had ever seen Catherine Morland in her infancy, would have supposed her born to be a
heroine, (Austen 5). However, she was considered to be more moral and honest than the other
characters in the story, especially more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Isabella Thorpe, a friend of Catherine s during a large portion of the novel, believed that Catherine s
brother James Morland was extremely rich and greedily squeezed a marriage proposal out of him.
However, when Isabella realized he was not as well off as she assumed, she broke off the engagement
and started to flirt with Frederick Tilney, Henry s brother. Other women in that time period would do
that as well in order to marry rich, and Catherine thought that practice was revolting. Catherine was at
the age to be married, and John Thorpe clearly showed interest in her. However, she disliked him and
didn t succumb to the social customs and expectations that pressured her to marry him. By showing
her dislike for Thorpe, she was proving that she was able to think for herself and form her own
opinions. She did not allow herself to be manipulated by anyone, and an element of that shone through
when she said If I could not be persuaded into what I thought was wrong, I will never be tricked into it
(Austen 68). Although Catherine is quite young and naïve, she shows maturity in not letting herself be

Feinberg Court Case
I agree with Feinberg. Criminals who have no or limited ability to perceive their motivations should
be treated differently from a legal standpoint. As a society it is difficult to justify blaming these
criminals for their actions and it is not morally acceptable. I also agree with Feinberg that even if these
people are excused from the legal punishments for actions that it is likely that they should be removed
from society in a different way, especially if there is a large likelihood that they will cause harm. A
case that exemplifies that is Durham V. United States. The argument in this case is that Monte Durham
was convicted of housebreaking and the case that will be quoted is an appeal case in which they are
insisting the conviction is overturned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The jurors should rule someone guilty if they believe that the accused was suffering from a mental
illness at that time and if the accused was suffering from a condition, but the condition did not affect
their actions, then they must be ruled guilty. However, if the accused was suffering from a condition
and the criminal behavior was a product of that condition then, the criminal should be ruled not guilty.
The court s ruling further exemplified some of the points made by Feinberg when it discussed that
jurors should be instructed by a psychiatrist about the mental illness and the effects that the mental
illness had in the specific case, and that the juror s should ask question along the lines of did the
accused know the difference between right and wrong, and did the accused lose the power of will.
These both relate to Feinberg because depending on the answer of the psychiatrist the accused may
have lost their rational ability to understand right and wrong or they may have lost their power of

The Civil War And The United States Essay
The civil war that continues to rage in Syria for the past five years has been one of both great loss and
great interest. Several key actors from around the world such as the United States, Russia, Turkey, the
Syrian government, Syrian rebels or National Coalition, Iran, and Saudi Arabia all have a great
amount at stake based on the outcome of the war. Thus, the difficulties of negotiating peace are almost
impossible to overcome, which causes great powers like that of the U.S. and Russia to use their
resources in order to obtain their desired outcome. In this essay, I will be outlining the key actors,
which side they are on, and what is at stake for each of them within this civil war, as well as
examining how this turmoil has [created] a haven for the Islamic State to move in. Now let us identify
the key actors who have a stake in this civil war. Initially, one should look at the country of origin in
which a civil war plays out, in this instance, Syria. Syria was thrown into a state of turmoil after the
government reportedly arrested and tortured teenagers who had painted revolutionary slogans on their
school s walls. This caused massive rallies to take place, in which government soldiers fired upon
protestors, killing several. As a result, the protestors took up arms of their own and proceeded to fight
back against the governmental forces in an attempt to end President Assad s regime. This then drew up
the battle lines; on one side was President Assad and his

E. Coli And Its Effects On The United States
E.coli outbreaks have steadily grown over the last few decades. An expansion in big farming has led to
E. coli not only being found in meat, but vegetation as well, due to waste runoff. This has increased
our need for adequate antibiotics that can fight bacteria, like E. coli. The best way to pinpoint which
antibiotics work is by measuring their ability to create antimicrobial agents or zones of inhibition.
When a paper disc that has been saturated in an antibiotic is inserted in a solution of E.coli and
medium, the zone of inhibition will be noted as the clear ring that forms around the disk. The
antibiotics efficacy is then determined by measuring each disk zone of inhibition, and comparing these
measurements to the zone measurements of an untreated specimen. If an antibiotic is to be deemed
sufficient for treating E. coli it should show a zone of inhibition that is at least double the size of the
untreated specimen.
On August 19th, 2015 this experiment was performed, by 6 separate lab groups. The experiment began
by measuring 1 Ml of E. coli into a pipette and pump, then placing the bacteria into a culture medium.
The E. coli and medium were then swirled together for a period of 15 minutes, until completely
mixed. This mixture was then poured into a petri dish and allowed to solidify for 45 minutes. After the
45 minute solidification time, 5 small paper disks were inserted into the dish. 4 of the disk contained
treatments of antibiotic and 1 was left untreated. The

Sartre s Existentialism And Existentialism
As a continuation of the course assignment, in the following paper, I shall examine Sartre s
Existentialism is a Humanism and give a framework of concepts and reasons as to why it is
existentialist in nature. Whereas the last paper chronologically organized Sartre s life and experiences,
this will focus more specifically on his work, thought process and an impression and interpretation of
his logic. Presented and chronicled after the liberation of Paris from German occupation,
Existentialism is a/and Humanism, flew directly out of that optimistic period where questions about
morality and societal integrity were at the forefront of the minds of French (any many other) people.
Of the pivotal texts in all existentialism, few are more well known than Sartre s. In the course of Jean
Paul Sartre s work on existentialism, he is believed to be the basis for the coining of the term
Existentialism, which in 1943 was first said by Gabriel Marcel, in reference to Sartre himself. After
rejecting and then assimilating the phrase unto his own purposes, he set out to clarify and exemplify
just what existentialism was, in the face of many of its Communist, Marxist, Catholic, and Christian
detractors.
Within its confines, Sartre addresses several foundational principles to his theory of existentialism, the
first of which is that existence precedes essence . Here is where Sartre first adopts the moniker of
Existentialist, specifically aesthetic ones, including Heidegger. This is the concept

The Importance Of Animated Dental Videos
The Importance of Animated Dental Videos
Right now animated dental videos are what s trending in the web world. The reason is that most
consumers are used to seeing these kinds of videos. Animated videos have an informal and friendly
nature that allows people to let their guards down. This allows you to express your marketing message
without as much resistance. We are seeing 3D animations creep up in popularity in the marketing of
dental products. The tv was one of the first to use animation for commercials for toothbrushes and
toothpaste. Now you can popularly see dental care commercials that show animated evil plaques being
terminated by heroic toothpaste particles.
Another valid point to why our animated dental videos are in high need is because nobody wants to
look in somebody else s mouth. It comes from the eighties where 2D was at its peak than in the
nineties it was replaced with 3D and is here now. Today you would practically be a mediocre dentist if
you can not show your 12 year old patient a beautiful 3D animation of her braces in your initial
consult. We specialize in making the procedures look pretty and simple. We keep in mind how to
appeal to your future patients and current ones through flattering camera angles, keeping things
moving and up to pace as well as keeping the colors sweet and soft.

The Mousetrap Car Project
When we began the project, The MouseTrap Car project, we originally split up the workload between
our idealistic engineer, Justin Phan, and our mechanical builder, Beckett Wanamaker. Our engineer
was in charge of designing each of the potential sketches and our sketches include three designs.
Design 1, the bike, was a mousetrap car based off of the engineering design of a bicycle. The bike
would have two main wheels, one in the front and one in the back. The design would also consist of
two more smaller wheels, one wheel attached on each side of the car similar to training wheels . This

Our consult was from Anthony DeGenova and he was able to give us the best design, his design, for
the project. After evaluating all of the potential designs from Valerie Nguyen, Christopher Martinez

simple aluminum 10 inch rod that extrudes from a CD on one end and another CD on the other end.
Each CD is approximately 1 inch in from the end of the rod. The rod is hollowed out to provide
minimum weight which allows for the mousetrap to give more power to the mechanism. This design
allowed for a quick build that gives the best results according to the previous engineers that did this
project last year. I completely defend this idea because it allowed for our group members Beckett
Wanamaker and Justin Phan to efficiently and quickly build a model that represents a better version of
DeGenova s model. Our model is more efficient than DeGenova s because it uses less glue and tape to
allow for a smaller and lighter model and an aluminum rod which allows for the maximum weight to
be barely under 4

A Mandatory Aspect When Managing Patients
A mandatory aspect when managing patients is to provide a provisional diagnosis illustrating,

diagnosis complicated. Underlying injuries could exist as his, neurological functioning and pain
threshold has been altered. Nickleston (2012) explains Backward falls on the buttocks cause trauma to
the spine, pelvis, hips, and head .
A provisional diagnosis for this patient s initial contact with the concrete, is a concussion and a coup
contusion due to the blunt trauma and inertial forces he has accumulated. The patient s physical
mechanism of injury is impact loading, which can cause compressive, shearing and twisting forces on
the brains tissue. These injuries are most commonly associated with acceleration / deceleration forces
and blunt force trauma. His history illustrates a concussion based on the symptoms, a brief loss of
consciousness, confusion, nausea, headaches and feeling sluggish. According to Bullock and Hales
(2013) A concussion is a transient alteration in cerebral function without structural defect that manifest
as a loss of consciousness followed by rapid recovery (p.195). The patient has suffered structural
defects suggesting more severe injuries, coup contusions of greater size are commonly associated with
haematomas.

your country and all that it does to no avail and no protest, while some believed they should have been
able to express their basic civil rights. This side was largely led by famous socialist, Eugene Debs who
believed the people had been blindly following rule from the higher ups deserved the chance to voice
their own opinion. Debs believed that the fundamental rights of the 1st Amendment should not be put
in jeopardy no matter the situation. On the other hand, Woodrow Wilson, 28th president believed that

This pep talk gave the active players the motivation they needed to push forward. He matured
tremendously and lifted their spirits and gave them a sense of pride to be the best players that they
could be. The third string running back stepped up his game and the team started to win. They had a
running and passing game that would make any fan proud. These players gave everything they had to

  • 2. Analysis Of The Text The Of The Bible There are many things which are similar and differences in both texts about the whole story of creation, some of them are noteworthy and would be explained as the essay proceeds. Philo, in his interpretation of the text was more lenient and warm in his attitude towards women. He does not cite woman as to be the mother of all evil and suffering in heaven and earth, and he has a warmth towards woman while handling issues of creation(Charlesworth. et al, 2010 ). While Midrash is a little cynical of the role of woman in heaven and earth. The first similarity between the two interpretations can be observed by the question as to why does scripture call the likeliness of woman a building ? it is explained in both texts that the harmonious coming together of man and woman is figuratively a house, and everything which is without a woman is imperfect and homeless. Man is entrusted the public state of affairs, while the woman holds the affairs of home. While a woman is near home, household management is proper and diligent. The second question to which we find the similar interpretation of both Philo and Midrash was why was woman, unlike other animals and man, was not formed from earth and created by side of man. The first reason both interpretations present is that woman is not equal in honor with man. The second is that woman is not equal in age to man, and she is younger to man in age. Both interpretations suggest that man should take care of woman as necessary part of him, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Startup.Com Movie Reaction Paper Startup.com shows the perils of going into business with a shaky business plan. It shows the initial excitement, the rise and fame, the bumping of heads and the eventual downfall. Such is the story of govworks.com, the documentary, startup.com covers it s first, and only, year in business. Long time friends, Tom Herman and Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, had a great business idea, with a large market, and little competition. They took something that nearly everyone goes through, and marketed it in a more efficient way. They wanted to make the DMV more efficient, specifically; they wanted to allow consumers to quickly and securely pay their traffic tickets online. This business plan parallels Netflix in many ways, as it took something that we were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A company that conversely was very successful in finding its niche is Geek Squad. When given the opportunity to expand they were hesitant, and took their time. They built their brand, then expanded, while GovWorks expanded before having a chance to see how the company would grow in the long term. Another thing that led to their downfall was that Herman and Isaza Tuzman found themselves butting heads in the way the company was run. They displayed a lack of training about the fundamentals of making an Internet firm work; Herman s low key personality clashed with Isaza Tuzman s business first approach, and eventually Herman was forced out of the company he had helped to found by his longtime friend. While going into business with another person can be an asset, it s always key to remember the boundaries of business and friendship. When two people don t meet eye to eye on the basics of how they want their business to run, it s a recipe for disaster. Going into business doesn t just involve a good idea. It involves planning and knowing how to use the right people in the right resources. Bill Stewart explained how although he knows a lot about packaged foods, he doesn t know everything, and he knows when to bring in other people who know what they are doing to help further his company. It also involves knowing what parts of your business to expand, and when. One huge factor that Herman ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Core Skills Self Reflective Essay Core Skills Self reflective Essay In this essay I will go through the most important skills that I acquired in the last few years in relation to the ones needed in the industry. In addition, I will also look at my weaknesses and what I can do to overcome them. Since I started my studies and up to this date, I have learned a lot about what is required to work in the Aviation industry. There is a wide range of skills required, although most of them apply to roles one can take on in the specific industry. In other words, some skills are more role specific. Reflecting on my skills, I believe I have excellent social, communication and language skills. These skills are essential in any customer facing or team work oriented job. As explained by Morgeson, F. P. et al. in Selecting individuals in team settings: The importance of social skills, personality characteristics, and teamwork knowledge. (2005): Social skills are particularly important in team settings because working in teams increases the interdependence among workers, typically producing greater conflict, workload sharing, and coordination demands than work that is performed independently... I have always been a people person and my communication with people is very good. It gives me great pleasure to make other people laugh and cater for their needs. It has never been difficult for me to form new friendships and maintain existing ones. For instance, when I was in primary school, I had made a lot of friends, four ... Senator Yarborough explained that the bill was needed because of the failure of the school system to educate Spanish speaking students that was reflected in comparative dropout rates (Lyons, 1990). The Hispanic dropout rate was close to 75 percent in certain areas (Ovando et al., 2006). In 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Bilingual Education Act into law, which indicated the first commitment made by the U.S. government to address the special needs that ELLs bring to public schools (Crawford, 1989). • 9. How do both The Stranger by Albert Camus and A Doll’s... From the very first line of Albert Camus The Stranger, Maman died today, (Camus 3) the quirky character of Meursault is shown to be different. The same holds true with Henrik Ibsen s classic play, A Doll s House, concerning Nora, a mother who abandons her family in order to pursue her own happiness. Both characters, while set in opposing societies, exhibit similar characteristics: a courageous, if not reckless, pursuit of happiness, be it physical in the case of Meursault or mental for Nora, and the relentless disregard of social standards and norms in the chase for free will. Both Ibsen and Camus use the pervading theme of free will to evolve the characters of Nora and Meursault, specifically incorporating ideas such as existentialism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nora, unlike Meursault, is contained by a mental block, a societal influence that dresses her, feeds her, makes her dance the Tarantula, and ultimately loathe her place in the literal Dolls house. Nora, called many pet names such as a little spend thrift (Ibsen 2), a squirrel (2), and her husband, Torvald s little songbird (25), faces constant reminders of her oppression. Like Meursault, Nora yearns for the all encompassing feeling of free will, and once she gets a taste, the ache becomes a severe painful longing until, as Torvald accurately predicts, she dances as if [her] life depended on it (48). Both Nora and Meursault act outrageously in the viewpoint of their communities in the quest for free will. As Torvald s wife, Nora is expected to keep the house beautifully and have everything just as Torvald likes it! (13). However, after experiencing the freedom and power that her financial deal with Krogstad gives her, Nora finds the dollhouse she once found solace in confining and suffocating. Following the unraveling of her secret business transaction and the turn of unexpected events, Nora finally plucks up the courage to take life for herself, leaving her home, husband, and children in her wake. While Nora s society degrades strong women for not being obedient wives, Nora forsakes the comfort in social norms to determine her own future and capture the remaining strings of free will that survived ... Two weeks I d spent looking for my grandmother s Moldavite pendant. I d been going crazy retracing my steps notwithstanding the sentimental significance it held for me. Lying on her death bed, my grandmother had given it to me for protection when I was fourteen. She cautioned me of the strong energies it held and that this pendant would protect me from negative entities. • 11. Rhetorical Modes Of Pathos In Ursula Le Guin One can unknowingly suffer for the sake of society s convenience. Both authors, Ray Bradbury and Ursula Le Guin, demonstrate the suffering that the protagonist endures in order to serve their society. A variety of rhetorical strategies and modes contribute to the overall role of the protagonists. Ray Bradbury uses personification and the rhetorical mode of pathos to convey the oblivious suffering that the protagonist, the smart house , undergoes. Ursula Le Guin utilizes diction and the rhetorical mode of pathos to demonstrate the society s dependency on the life of a young, hopeless boy. Through the authors use of diction, personification, and the rhetorical mode of pathos, readers can view both short stories in a new criticism lense and juxtapose two societies that feature a suffering aspect in each story. In Ray Bradbury s short story, August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains , the protagonist is the only house left standing in Allendale, California after a nuclear explosion. However, the protagonist is not an average house. The house is technologically programmed to carry out all of the tasks and duties of an ordinary family. Although the family that lived in the house before the explosion are no longer present, the house carries out its scheduled routine. At the beginning of the story, Bradbury explains that memory tapes glided and chimed out the passing time while no doors slammed, no carpets took the soft tread of rubber heels . The house has become abandoned, yet, it continues to exercise its daily functions. Ray Bradbury also gives Robinson 2 life to the house in a way that it seems to be a human. The weather box on the front door sang quietly: rain, rain, go away; rubbers, raincoats for today... is a prime example of the way Bradbury brings life to the empty house. Another example of personification that Bradbury uses in his short story is, It quivered at each sound, the house did. If a sparrow brushed a window, the shade snapped up. The house seems to have a mind of its own. In August 2026: There Will Come Soft Rains, the house continues to function even though the family and residents of the town has suffered from the nuclear explosion. • 17. The Causes Of Valley Forge Imagine living under brutal conditions in a rundown, secluded fort, far away from home and knowing that you could die at any minute. What would you do? During the winter of 1777 to 1778, George Washington s Continental Army set up their post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It was not big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a mill for forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for Washington s men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that maybe that hadn t been such a good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Army should have left Valley Forge because of death and illness, living conditions in camp (lack of food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress. Although Thomas Paine s words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn t change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in the camp. To begin, the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were many soldiers who began dying of death and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of 8,000 soldiers were sick , which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974). According to researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was 1,800 out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers (10%). People with prosopagnosia have trouble with physical recognition. Recognition and memory are different. Memory is the thoughts, opinions and past experiences that is in our mind. The face is the key to accessing the memory of the person. We may forget someone here and there, but that s not a big deal. People with prosopagnosia forget often and could even forget their family. Surgery to remove the thyroid is a cure to eliminate hyperthyroidism, but a thyroidectomy will require hormone medication for the rest of the animal s life. The major gap in current knowledge that we will address in this proposal is to determine how PV neuron specific CTNNB1 KO affects animal behaviors and to what extent Wnt agonists reverse the behavioral deficits. We expect to identify the defect that is involved in PV neurons specific to CTNNB1 knockout mice. Moreover, we have identified several bioactive compounds with diverse mechanisms of action that can potentiate the Wnt pathway in human NPCs, including approved drugs and probes suitable for in vivo use31, 32. Repurposing these drugs for ASD will be exciting because they act through different mechanisms than current experimental therapies now. Our cKO mice provide an ideal animal model to examine the extent to which targeting Wnt pathway can ameliorate the behavioral deficits. If small molecules targeting Wnt pathway in this study can alleviate behavioral deficits, a whole new druggable pathway will further identify more active molecules/drugs that can be directly applied to the ASD patients. This contribution will be significant because it is an important step to allow modulation of the Wnt signaling pathway at interneurons and may lead to development of a pharmacologic approach to correct ASD related behavioral defects, thereby improving the lives of ASD patients. What is learned in this study will be applicable to other ASDs caused by mutations associated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Amazon, Google, and Apple each have competitive advantages in various markets; however, one specific market proved difficult for Amazon to cultivate a competitive advantage. Shaping competition, the five forces, known as threats of new entrants, power of suppliers, power of buyers, threats of substitutes, and existing rivalry, determine industry profitability and influence the ability to gain competitive advantage (Rothaermel, 2017). Notably, failing to understand the forces can results in negative gains. Within the U.S. technology industry, the smartphone market has strong competitive forces, yet profit potential. In particular, the smartphone market has established firms, such as Google and Apple, each with large market shares, which lessens profitability potential for new entrants. Nevertheless, Amazon, pursuing a differentiation strategy, attempted to develop and market the Fire smartphone in 2014 to diversify business activities (Rothaemel McKay, 2015). One force Amazon encountered was the presence of entry barriers. Established firms, Google and Apple, had proven brand recognition, economies of scale, and loyal consumer base in the smartphone industry, and an entering firm, such as Amazon, faced risk. From Amazon s view, entering into the smartphone market required significant capital investment, with unpredictable effects, to develop a differentiated, price competitive product. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects 2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed the challenges in modeling the QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly quantified according to the QoC requirements. Castro et al. • 32. E. Coli And Its Effects On The United States E.coli outbreaks have steadily grown over the last few decades. An expansion in big farming has led to E. coli not only being found in meat, but vegetation as well, due to waste runoff. This has increased our need for adequate antibiotics that can fight bacteria, like E. coli. The best way to pinpoint which antibiotics work is by measuring their ability to create antimicrobial agents or zones of inhibition. When a paper disc that has been saturated in an antibiotic is inserted in a solution of E.coli and medium, the zone of inhibition will be noted as the clear ring that forms around the disk. The antibiotics efficacy is then determined by measuring each disk zone of inhibition, and comparing these measurements to the zone measurements of an untreated specimen. If an antibiotic is to be deemed sufficient for treating E. coli it should show a zone of inhibition that is at least double the size of the untreated specimen. On August 19th, 2015 this experiment was performed, by 6 separate lab groups. The experiment began by measuring 1 Ml of E. coli into a pipette and pump, then placing the bacteria into a culture medium. The E. coli and medium were then swirled together for a period of 15 minutes, until completely mixed. This mixture was then poured into a petri dish and allowed to solidify for 45 minutes. Sartre s Existentialism And Existentialism As a continuation of the course assignment, in the following paper, I shall examine Sartre s Existentialism is a Humanism and give a framework of concepts and reasons as to why it is existentialist in nature. Whereas the last paper chronologically organized Sartre s life and experiences, this will focus more specifically on his work, thought process and an impression and interpretation of his logic. Presented and chronicled after the liberation of Paris from German occupation, Existentialism is a/and Humanism, flew directly out of that optimistic period where questions about morality and societal integrity were at the forefront of the minds of French (any many other) people. Of the pivotal texts in all existentialism, few are more well known than Sartre s. In the course of Jean Paul Sartre s work on existentialism, he is believed to be the basis for the coining of the term Existentialism, which in 1943 was first said by Gabriel Marcel, in reference to Sartre himself. After rejecting and then assimilating the phrase unto his own purposes, he set out to clarify and exemplify just what existentialism was, in the face of many of its Communist, Marxist, Catholic, and Christian detractors. Within its confines, Sartre addresses several foundational principles to his theory of existentialism, the first of which is that existence precedes essence . Here is where Sartre first adopts the moniker of Existentialist, specifically aesthetic ones, including Heidegger. This is the concept ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. The Mousetrap Car Project When we began the project, The MouseTrap Car project, we originally split up the workload between our idealistic engineer, Justin Phan, and our mechanical builder, Beckett Wanamaker. Our engineer was in charge of designing each of the potential sketches and our sketches include three designs. Design 1, the bike, was a mousetrap car based off of the engineering design of a bicycle. The bike would have two main wheels, one in the front and one in the back. The design would also consist of two more smaller wheels, one wheel attached on each side of the car similar to training wheels . This model was designed to be the safest of the three and was going to give our group a safe way of building a car that might not be the prize winning design but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our consult was from Anthony DeGenova and he was able to give us the best design, his design, for the project. After evaluating all of the potential designs from Valerie Nguyen, Christopher Martinez and Anthony DeGenova, we decided to go with Anthony DeGenova s simple design. This design is a simple aluminum 10 inch rod that extrudes from a CD on one end and another CD on the other end. Each CD is approximately 1 inch in from the end of the rod. The rod is hollowed out to provide minimum weight which allows for the mousetrap to give more power to the mechanism. This design allowed for a quick build that gives the best results according to the previous engineers that did this project last year. I completely defend this idea because it allowed for our group members Beckett Wanamaker and Justin Phan to efficiently and quickly build a model that represents a better version of DeGenova s model. Our model is more efficient than DeGenova s because it uses less glue and tape to allow for a smaller and lighter model and an aluminum rod which allows for the maximum weight to be barely under 4 ... • 39. A Mandatory Aspect When Managing Patients A mandatory aspect when managing patients is to provide a provisional diagnosis illustrating, diagnostic uncertainty. Analysis of the mechanism and pattern of injury give an understanding of obvious, underlying and life threatening traumatic injuries, whilst vital signs and patient presentation allow for a firm diagnosis. Once diagnosed, an understanding of the pathophysiological processes, of a particular condition is essential for adequate treatment. The pathophysiological implications provide a detailed understanding of the immediate and possible long term prognosis. The patient has suffered a traumatic brain injury. Being in an intoxicated, physiological state, with an inability to communicate effectively makes diagnosis complicated. Underlying injuries could exist as his, neurological functioning and pain threshold has been altered. Nickleston (2012) explains Backward falls on the buttocks cause trauma to the spine, pelvis, hips, and head . A provisional diagnosis for this patient s initial contact with the concrete, is a concussion and a coup contusion due to the blunt trauma and inertial forces he has accumulated. The patient s physical mechanism of injury is impact loading, which can cause compressive, shearing and twisting forces on the brains tissue. These injuries are most commonly associated with acceleration / deceleration forces and blunt force trauma. His history illustrates a concussion based on the symptoms, a brief loss of consciousness, confusion, nausea, headaches and feeling sluggish. According to Bullock and Hales (2013) A concussion is a transient alteration in cerebral function without structural defect that manifest as a loss of consciousness followed by rapid recovery (p.195). The patient has suffered structural defects suggesting more severe injuries, coup contusions of greater size are commonly associated with haematomas. A secondary provisional diagnosis based on the physical assessment alone, indicates a skull laceration or contusion, potential skull fracture, and intracranial haematoma. • 40. Debs Arguments Against The Constitution Of The United States During the height of WW1, tensions were rising between Americans. Some believed you must support your country and all that it does to no avail and no protest, while some believed they should have been able to express their basic civil rights. This side was largely led by famous socialist, Eugene Debs who believed the people had been blindly following rule from the higher ups deserved the chance to voice their own opinion. Debs believed that the fundamental rights of the 1st Amendment should not be put in jeopardy no matter the situation. On the other hand, Woodrow Wilson, 28th president believed that the only way to unify the country and have success in the war would be to prohibit official protest against the Government and military.
