Analysis Of Mind Game Isn T Just A White Coat By Sandra...
To summarize Mind Games: Sometimes a White coat Isn t Just a White Coat article by Sandra
Blakeslee. The article is about an experiment where people pay more attention to a doctor with a
white coat then a painter with a white coat. It s not just the effect of knowing someone is a doctor.
The effect really occurs when that doctor is wearing the coat and knowing its symbolic meaning.
Dr. Galinsky said, our thoughtprocesses is based on physical experiences that set off associated
abstract concepts, and now it appears that those experiences include the cloths we wear. The study
does not explain why as humans we do thing it just proves that we do, do it. The study says if

Dealing with Mental Illness in Kay Redfield Jamison s An...
Is acceptance of mental illness the key to living a more fulfilled life?
I first became interested in bipolar or, manic depression a few years ago when somebody close to
me was diagnosed with it. I wanted to understand it better but found that the jargon and detached
observations of psychiatric theory and practice that you can find on the internet didn t really help
me to understand what people actually go through. Kay Redfield Jamison s An Unquiet Mind
manages to cut through all that to create a fiery, passionate, authentic account of the psychotic
experience and introduce you to that facts of the illness without you even realizing it. Kay Jamison
s story is proof that mentally ill people, with help from medication, can live a ... Show more content

It s at the very back of your mind, but fear never lets you suppose it. (P.22)
Another reason why people might not take medication is because it takes away not only the
highs and lows but the essence of peoples personalities, it leaves them enigmatic and slow. The
moods you are so used to having on a daily basis fade away until you are left feeling dull (p.79)
This is especially hard for people with manic depressive illness because there moods are very
much part of their lives. Many of the world s most creative people suffer from mental illness and
they find that it is very hard to go from being brilliant to average. When I was depressed, nothing
came to me, and nothing came out of me. When manic, or mildly so I would write a paper in a
day, my ideas would flow. (p.114). when you re forgetting the unbearable pain of depression the
memories of seductive highs can easily lure you back off your medication and into another costly
episode.
It takes many people years and years to get used to the idea of having a mental illness but once
they find a treatment that is right for them and get used to being on it then there is every chance
that they can lead a normal, controllable life. As they say You have to know the rules to break
them. People don t always have to spend their whole life on lithium or at least not on such a high
dose.

Entrepreneurship
Similarities and differences between a manager, a business owner and an entrepreneur

Similarities and differences between a manager, a business owner and an entrepreneur By Henry
Amm
Introduction
The public perception of entrepreneurs today is almost legendary. They seem to seamlessly start
up small businesses and make them grow and develop themselves almost overnight to big
successes. (Beaver, 2005) This essay will briefly cover the differences and similarities between
managers, business owners and entrepreneurs.

Therefore he often runs a lifestyle firm that is based on trade or craft which, however, will not
grow to any considerable size. The entrepreneur in turn is opportunistic, innovative, self confident
and acts proactive and decisive. He is highly self motivated by his vision and is therefore willing
to take even greater risks and can live with a high uncertainty. That is why the entrepreneur has a
growth firm and is pursuing growth and personal wealth. Lastly the manager is administrating, or
in other words managing, an entity that does not belong to him. His purpose is to build up the
organisation, by means that are similar to larger firms. (Burns, 2007) However there are some
exceptions from that generalization: An owner manager of course can have a growing business,
while an entrepreneur could manage a business he owns together with a business associate and
therefore has not complete control over the capital. (Burns, 2007) As Fraja (1996) suggests every
firm can be assigned to either one of the following types: Either it is an entrepreneurial firm, where
the owner manager or entrepreneur is in exclusive control, organizes production, borrows funds and
retains any residual returns from his work. Or it is a managerial firm, where the individual that has
the right to residual returns remains outside the company and the individual that has the

Was William Of Normandy Justified
William of Normandy was the legitimate heir to the throne of England in 1066 for many reasons.
Legitimacy is the realness of something or someone that is valid, supported, and accepted. He was a
legitimate ruler because he had military accomplishment, he had justification from the religious
world, and he had the peoples approval. One criteria William of Normandy met to meet the
standards of being a legitimate king was, he had military accomplishment. One example was when
William went to war with Duke conan of Britanny, as the intense batlttle was filled with battle
soldiers on horseback throwing lances, and trying to set fire to the defences, and it finaly came to
an end when the mighty conan surrendered. Another military accomplishment William of
Normandy had was after Willam heard that Harold overtook king after king Eward died, William
was furious. This caused him to organize a fleet of warships and invade England, and the Battle of
Hastingshas offically begun. The long and violent battle is hardly faught, with men on the ground,
and as William... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is, when he offically became king of England he gave lands out to the
people. Most notibily, he gave land to the churches because the pope supported his claim to the
English throne, therefore he had religous support to his rulership. Another example of his
religous justification is, his half brother Odo. He made Odo the Bishiop of Bayeux, and even
built a catherdiral there. Odo was always on Williams side in battle, by leading prayers for
victory..( Britan s Bayeux Tapestry ar Reading Museum ) Finally, William had receieved the oath
of allegiance from Harold, which is another justification he recieved from the religous aspect of
life.(Crack ВЁBatle of Hastings 1066 ) overall, throughout Williams rule, the religous life was a
big part in his sucession and support he had, from the pope to his half brother who became the

Vaccinations In The Central African Republic
Vaccinations are an incredible innovation, and without them, our world would be quite different.
These lifesaving inventions have always been quite controversial, and without knowing what
they are fully capable of, some people and governments won t take any further actions to get
vaccinations to people who are in need. For example, in India, the government is very detached
from the issue, and hasn t invested in the heavily needed vaccines for its people. Especially the
children, as one third of the children unvaccinated in the entire world reside in India. Also,
Recent events in countries have drastically impacted how many people receive vaccines. As in
the Central African Republic, the country has been in a fuming ongoing civil war that has killed
over 6,000 people from its upbringing in 2012. People in the Central African Republic have been
displaced, and are in desperate need other things, such as food or water. The longer a person goes
without a vaccine, the higher the chance is of contracting a disease or virus. In Nigeria alone, the
national data showed less than 30% coverage for all antigens, and this decreased to 12.9% [in]
2003 (NCBI). Vaccines are a significant problem today because people are very uneducated about
them.

Urban Geography And The Human Agency
With the sources provided it is evident how influential the social structure is on urban geography
and the human agency in the continuum of the socio spatial dialect. The talk by Wilkinson outlines
social problems that correlate to inequality that is widening throughout developed countries. The
Figures provide statistics of the inequality within Canada and the patterns that are not temporary but
also not inevitable as discussed in the article about the Three Cities of Toronto. The article analyses
the social and geographic transformation that has occurred in Toronto through the past 35 years by
looking at census tracts and illustrating the disparities that are occurring and will continue to

Sweden who has a fairly equal society had low results for social problems. Wilkinson also made
a point to state that national income and economic growth had no correlation to life expectancy
in the developed world anymore. Wilkinson goes on to state that the bigger the income gaps
within societies lead to a deteriation of these social problems within societies. The difference
when comparing societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when
looking within societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative
income within a specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to
the idea talked about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus
the census tract. The blockface data has extreme detail (or spatial variation) and the census tract
does not have as much information (reduces variability). In this analogy, societies would be the
blockface data and different countries would be the census tract. Turning our attention specifically
on Canada, we can examine Figure A and see the inequality that has been rising to an unprecedented
high of income inequality. Although we are see that through taxation this inequality has been
reduced, the problem still remains significant as we can see the household inequality is drastically
rising in all the major metropolitans in Canada especially from 2000 2005. This is

Preschoolers With Verbalization Sound And School Age...
Purpose: Preschoolers with verbalization sound disorders have clinically consequential impairments
in the engenderment of sound production of the ambient language. Although many of these
produced sound errors resolve after several years (with or sometimes without intervention),
developmental appropriate speech sound production is not always achieved. Some sound errors
may continue into adulthood. Concretely, (Preston, Hull, Edwards, 2013) intended to determine if
preschool verbalization error types (e.g., atypical sound errors and distortion errors), which may
reflect different levels of psycholinguistic processing, are indicative of school age phonological
awarenessand verbalization sound outcomes. The purpose of the present study was to determine
if the types of preschool verbalization sound errors can signal school age outcomes for children
with speech and sound disorders. The second purpose was to determine if preschool verbalization
errors are symbolic of school age verbalization sound production skills. Preston, Hull, Edwards
(2013) hypothesized that children who generate many distortion errors in preschool may be at risk
for continuing verbalization sound errors at school age.
Method: The participants consisted of 43 preschoolers with verbalization and sound disorders
between the ages of four and five. The participants were selected through clinical recommendations
in upstate New York from May 2007 to April 2008. Children were primarily from middle

Box Trailers
Before spending your hard earned money on box trailers for sale, it is necessary to consider
several important factors, including a trailer meeting your requirement, size and cost. You may
face several other types of problems while selecting the perfect trailer matching your needs. In
addition, when you will be exploring the market in search of box trailers for sale, you may come
across different types of trailers that could leave you more confused.
You will make the right decision only if you have knowledge about all kinds of trailers or there s
an expert with you. In addition to that, you must be aware of places where you could get the best
box trailers at cost effective prices. If this is leading to confusion, here s a guide that may help you
in searching for the perfect box trailer for your requirement:
Why to Buy a New Trailer? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You should ask yourself if you are ready to stop using the current trailer and look for the new.
Start your search only if you are sure about the new purchase. In addition to that, figure out what
purposes your new trailer is going to serve. Decide what should be its towing capacity and how
long you will need it. Decide New or Old?
Box trailers are perfect equipment pieces to have, but it is also necessary to figure out how
much you could spend on them. You could decide this by determining if you need the trailer for
long run, or for a short time. In addition to that, you could check both new and old trailers to
know about materials used to create them. A trailer with good material will last for a long time,
even if it is second hand. While looking for used trailers, you may come across trailers that are
still under warranty. It is good to spend on them as they could help you in saving some bucks with
the warranty for some more years.

Visual Aesthetics
Part One: Visual Aesthetics Essay The work of art I chose is a sculpture by Antonio Raggi which
is located in the church of Santi Domenico e Sisto, in Rome. I think it gives meaning to the story
by giving you a physical work that expresses all of the thoughts and emotions the characters are
feeling. The piece shows Mary on her knees in front of Jesusdesperately reaching towards him,
probably to prove to herself that he is really there in front of her, while Jesus seems to be gesturing
with his outstretched hand do not touch me . The first thing that I was drawn to when I first layer

Mary is talking with a man she assumes is a gardener asking him questions, instead of answering
he speaks her name, causing Mary to instantly recognize who she thought was a gardener as
instead being Jesus. Why did Mary not recognize him until she heard his voice? This is because,
according to Nancy because she believes that which she hears. Some other characters in the
story put their faith in what they saw, the disciple John sees an empty tomb and based on what
he sees is able to believe that Jesus has risen from the dead. However, Mary Magdalene could not
place her faith in what she saw like others could. When she saw the empty tomb with the
discarded bandages she still didn t believe that Jesus could be alive, and even when Jesus himself
was standing before her she was still unable to believe. What triggered Mary to come to the
understanding that Jesus was alive was not sight, but sound. When she heard his voice she
instantly knew that it was him before her and not the gardener she had believed him to be. After
she knew it was him she called out to Jesus to show him that she believed. She used her voice to
show him that she has believed based on that which she can hear. Some need to see to believe, but

Students examine the ways in which mystery, tension, and surprise are used in informational and
literary texts to engage and
intrigue readers. First, students read short stories and poetry, including a close reading of Joyce
Carol Oates short story,
Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? and Mara Bovsun s article, Pied Piper of Tucson;
they identify and describe
ways authors hook and hold readers with specific choices. Next, students read the play Fences by
Pulitzer Prize winner
August Wilson and analyze the role of stories within in the story to create tension and advance the
plot. Fences is the

Students will then select
one line to perform. This culminates in students performing their lines in a collective performance,
and writing reflective
short essays to describe the impact of the important lines exercise on their comprehension of the
play. This deeper
comprehension will then be used to finalize the essay responding to the prompt How does August
Wilson use stories within
the story to build mystery, tension, surprise in the play Fences?
Unit Test
Students will read and think about the short story, quot;Lamb to the Slaughter quot;, by Roald Dahl.
As they do so, they will answer
questions and gather evidence related to how the text builds tension in the reader. Students will then
use this evidence to
help write an analytical essay.

Examples Of Promiscuity In Brave New World
Introduction: During the writing of the novel, Brave New World, Aldous Huxley, the author of
the book, saw the way society was beginning to change. Throughout the story, he explores many
different predictions that he has seen create an affect our world today. One of the main
predictions he made was on the way promiscuity has changed the view of romantic relationships.
As Huxley began to see people s sexual behavior change he used his ideas to integrate in with
how the world would turn out. Huxley incorporates promiscuity in his utopian society called the
World State, to foreshadow how the world is conforming to the beliefs incorporated in the novel.
Analysis Portion: Aldous Huxley foresees that promiscuity will become socially acceptable and
engrained in culture due to the lack of romantic relationships. While at the savage reservation
Linda talks to Lenina about how Everybody belongs to everyone else . This is one example as to
how there is no emotional attachment between any two people. Well, here, ... Nobody s
supposed to belong to more than one person. And if you have people in the ordinary way, the
others think you re wicked and anti social. They hate and despise you. (81). In this quote Huxley
talks about people being seen in the ordinary way . In his utopian society, being promiscuous is
not seen as wrong. However, in the savage reservation you are despised and disliked if you engage
in a relationship with multiple different people in a short amount of time.

Summary Of The Bitter Pill
The Bitter Pill: Why medical bills are killing us written by Steven Brill delves into the question as
to why medical bills are so high. As Brill begins his research he analyzed bills from hospitals,
doctors, and drug companies. Additionally, he interviewed doctors, Medicare and insurance
administrators, and gathered patient stories across the nation. He found that the United Statesspent
more money on healthcare than any other developed countries, he stated We may be shocked at
the $60 billion price tag for cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy, [however], we spent almost that
much last week on healthcare (Brill 2013). He also noted yet in every measurable way, the
results our healthcare system produces are no better and often worse than the outcomes in those
countries (Brill 2013). From the charts and graphs that Brill provided shows that the sixty
percent of personal bankruptcy filings per year are related to medical bills. Life expectancy in
the United States is the lowest amongst the countries that spend most on healthcare, our infant
mortality rank is fiftieth in the world, and that one pill cost as much as seven pills in other
developed countries such as France. Brill found that in many similar cases, like that ones he
presented in the article, Medicare would have at least paid for a small portion of the bill. However,
those who don t qualify for Medicaid and don t have insurance are often asked to pay excessive
prices.
Strengths
Although the United States is said to offer poor health services among other developed countries, it
still has some internal features that makes the system thrive over most healthcare system. One of
the major strength in the healthcare system is the breakthrough of technology advances. Some
technologies may improve the efficiency of care delivery by reducing procedure time, length of
stay, or number of hospitalizations, thereby increasing the capacity of the hospital to treat
additional patients (Sorenson et al 2013). In which, also favors many patients whom wished to
receive their test results sooner or on the estimated arrival date.
Another strength is that the medical research systems are some of the best in the world. Institutions

Market Research Crucial
Why Is Market Research Crucial to Business Today? Most of the businessmen consider market
research the key to a successful business empire. It is quite essential to conduct a thorough research
to analyze the prospects of an existing or new product. A well conducted research proves fruitful in
evaluating the business situations, the potential salesof a product, prospective customers and so
forth.
In simple words, market research is the process of collecting, recording and evaluating data which
relates to various products and services.

Primary research involves collection of data directly from the consumers. It is quite an expensive

Quantitative research: In quantitative researches, surveys are conducted to collect numerical data.
Most of the surveys include close ended questions which are less time consuming. It is quite easy
to collect such data as consumers tend to be more co operative. The collected data is further

Homeland Security Vs Homeland Security
Much has been discussed about homeland security and homeland defense regarding their
differences and similarities, but regardless of how the two are related, the fact remains that they
both serve the purpose of protecting and defending America, making our citizens safe, and to
protect the integrity of our infrastructure, rendering our nation a safe place to live and build family
traditions. The ultimate purpose of both Homeland Defense and Homeland Securityis to protect,
defend, and assist with the safety and security of the citizens of the United States. One purpose
specifically caters to the protection of our citizens in land and the other focuses on the protection of
citizens from overseas.
Homeland Defense operates within the United States and outside the United States to provide
critical protection to the country against terrorism. Homeland defense is the task the military is
handed outside of the United States. For the purpose of defending and protecting our nation, the
reason why military personnel are sent all over the world to fight radical extremists who pose a
threat to our nation. They also monitor any other entity who can potentially become a threat to our
country.
Homeland defense represents the protection of our territory, population, and critical infrastructure
by deterring and defending against foreign and domestic threats, supporting civil authorities for
crisis and consequence management, and helping to ensure the continuance of critical national
assets (Department of the Army 1999, 1). (Noftsinger, 2007)
The Department of Defense main objective is to provide the military forces necessary to protect
the security of our country. To protect our natural resources, installations, and facilities by
discouraging and preventing acts of terror against the American public. To support the overall
mission by fighting radical extremist who plan and carry out attacks on American soil claiming the
lives of innocent citizens. Our military servicemembers operate from overseas and within our states
protecting our borders, skies, ports, and shores from terrorist who wish to plant fear and create
chaos in our nation.

Driven to Their Death
Driven to Their Death I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure
suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.
Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Elie Wiesel once said. Nazis tormented the
Jews all throughout the Holocaustjust because they didn t like their race. There have been multiple
movies, books, and graphic novels about the holocaust showing all the traumatic deaths, and other
horrifying events that took place. The graphic novel Maus written by Art Spiegelman shows the
survival story of a man named Vladek, and written by his son Artie. Vladek was a true survivor,
whether it was purely luck or not, but he also cared about other people who were there with him. In
the movie Schindler s List directed by Steven Spielberg this shows the story about the holocaust and
how one man named Schindler saved many men, women, and families. In both stories, there are
multiple motifs such as trains, lists, and death. Both stories show the same motifs in very similar
ways. One way the motifs are the same is that the trains represent their journey to their own death.
In Maus, there are multiple pictures of trains throughout the novel. Trains were used for
transportation and ultimately to send Jewsto concentration camps. One of the most important trains
was the one that the Spiegelman s were on when they thought they were going to Hungary, but they
ended up being at Auschwitz.

SA ADC that are mentioned in this paper are binary weighted DAC, unary weighted DAC and
segmented DAC. In this paper comparator is been designed for all these SA ADC architectures. The
comparator used in SA ADC plays an important role. The main purpose of the comparator is to

signal is greater or smaller than the reference signal. The structure of the comparator does not
depend on the segmentation degree (i.e. the number of unary bits), for all the binary, segmented,

The Tax Of The Cadillac Tax
Description The Cadillac tax is a popular name for the highly controversial excise tax on
applicable high cost employer sponsored insurance (ESI) coverage imposed under the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Gravelle, 2015). Great debate ensued following the
proposal of this tax, which was initially set to be implemented in 2013, however differences in
opinion between the House of Representatives and the Senate culminated in the delay in the
implementation of this tax until 2018 (Herring, 2011). It is a nondeductible 40% excise tax on
the value of applicable employer sponsored health coverage that exceeds a determined threshold
(Lowry, 2015). The tax targets employer sponsored health coverage plans that are considered to
be overly generous or have relatively low cost sharing requirements in an effort to raise revenue
to offset the costs of implementing other ACA provisions, as well as encourage a reduction in
the growing expenditure and costs of national health care and offset some of the effects of the
income tax exclusion for ESI (Lowry, 2015). Applicable coverage for the purposes of the
Cadillac tax includes any coverage availed to an employee by an employer that is excludable from
an employee s gross income under section 106 of the IRC (Mach, 2015). Applicable coverage
includes, but is not restricted to an employee s contribution to heath insurance premiums, Health
care flexible spending account (FSA), Health savings account (HSA), Retiree coverage,

Texas Tech And The College Of Human Sciences
Texas Tech is a large University located in Lubbock Texas and is home to many faculty
members. Because it is so big we, decided that focusing on one college, the college for human
sciences, for the semester is the best way to ensure we give our best work out there, in hopes of in
the future being able to help other colleges at Texas Tech University. The college of Human
Sciences has a total of one hundred and twenty eight faculty members according the fall 2015
faculty census on the TexasTech website (Faculty Head Count). They also break this number down
by ethnicity. There majority of the faculty population is White Non Hispanic people accounting for
ninety nine out of the one hundred twenty eight people (Faculty Head Count). The least was Black
Non Hispanic, accounting for only two (Faculty Head Count). We hope to get as many ethnicities to
participate in this program to be able to study trends in the specific ethnicity and then to compare
and contrast with others (Faculty Head Count). Now to further our knowledge we took to online
resources. Reading what other people thought effective time managementskills helped us design a
plan that could be formed to fit the needs of the individual. Being healthy does not just mean that
one is in shape and eats right. Being healthy is an all around healthy body, as well as mind. We

An act is acted upon through lack of knowledge known as ignorance when the performer is unaware
of the consequences of the specific condition. Performing in the course of unawareness must be
separated from performing in ignorance. One may be performing ignorance through drunkenness or
moral depravity, which is an act of moral corruption that ends up being extremely worse. Voluntary
acts are acts that are the opposite of involuntary acts. A voluntary act involves choice that human
beings are only capable of. The choice that one makes is different from rage or desire. Such
actions, then, are mixed, but are more like voluntary actions; for they are worthy of choice at the
time when they are done, and the end of an action is relative to the occasion (Book III). True choice
requires rational consideration, an ability unique to human beings, which also means that the
human being choosing can verify that one action is preferable to another. An example of voluntary
action is the decision to play a sport for school or not. Playing a sport for school may take time out

Drum Brake Steps
ere are four things you need to know about fixing drum brakes that are different from fixing disc
brakes. If you already know how to repair disc brakes, this information will help you make the
transition to working on drum brakes a little easier.
#1 You Will Need A Few Special Tools
In addition to the typical tools that you use while working on your vehicle, you will also need
three specific tools that are designed to make working on drum brakes an easier and safer process.
Brake Adjusting Tool: This tool is designed to allow you to properly adjust the rear shoe on your
drum brakes. The adjustment process on drum brakes is especially sensitive. If you don t adjust
the brakes just right, you will have to push your brake in extremely far to ... Show more content on

Specifically, you need to make sure that you keep the brake friction surfaces clean. If any
contaminates get on the friction material, you may end up needing to completely replace the
friction material if the contaminates cannot be removed.
If you get oil or grease on the drum friction surface, try first to wipe it off with a rag dipped in
brake parts cleaner. If any contaminates are stuck on the friction surface, you may be able to
remove them with some fine sandpaper and a soft cloth.
#4 Don t Forget To Lubricate The Backing Plates
Finally, when you install the drum brake shoes, you need to make sure that the knuckles the drum
brake shoes rest on are well lubricated. You ll wantto clean the area first with a cloth and possible
some brake parts cleaner. Then you will want to apply white lithium grease to the knuckles the
shoes rest on. This will ensure that the shoes are able to move properly when you installed them.
Working on drum brakes requires a lot of the same skills and knowledge that you used when you
worked on disc brakes. However, the type brake systems are not identical. Keep in mind the tips
above when you work on your disc brake

Hey Big Spender By Elena Passarello Summary
A monster is someone or something who invokes fear or causes change. Imagine someone
permanently changing a young man s life to the point his whole body and life is changed in one
fell swoop. Anyone who commits an act like this is a monster. In Hey Big Spender by Elena
Passarello, a boy named Farinelli is castrated before the young age of ten years old. Farinelli was
not castrated for using his private parts in an improper manner. Farinelli was castrated so he
could sing a note. Farinelli did not ask for this process to be done, neither was he asked if he
wanted it done to him, this decision was made by his music teachers. That decision is
unreasonable to make for a ten year old boy, just so he can fulfill the wishes of his teachers (of
hitting one note!). Farinelli s body was impacted by this in multiple... Show more content on

The behavior of the elders in this situation was only allowed because they were powerful. This is
a reflection of how people with power change other people s lives to fit their own agenda. While
many of the changes for Farinelli were positive, the fact of the matter is, the church elders, like
powerful people everywhere, are monsters for taking advantage of a powerless human being.
Farinelli was born in Italy back in 1705. He was a member of a church sponsored music school
from when he was young. The leaders of this school were having trouble with the progression of
music. The choirboys just couldn t hit the higher notes, as Passarello states, Mastering these

The IPCC Summary for Policymakers 2014 assesses the impacts of climate change worldwide.
The IPCC Summary for Policymakers provides policy makers an overview of what needs to be
reviewed, further aiding them in creating policies to better manage and reduce the impact of
climate change. The report provides prospective related to how changes through adaptation and
mitigation can benefit the impact on climate change. Furthermore the report evaluates what needs
to change, the options available to make the changes, and it provides prospects as well as
restrictions and limits impeding change.

flooding due to extreme weather. This is prevalent in Florida due to the state being so close to sea
level. Watching the news recently the world has been able to see the devastation caused by
Hurricane Matthew in the coastal areas of Florida and the other southern states, as well as Haiti.
This I imagine is a result of climate change.

There are many colleges around the United States that involve courses over welding. It is all up
to you to decide what school you would like to go to to learn how to do the career you love.
Midwest Technical Institute, a.k.a MTI, is a highly appreciated school. Their program is very
affordable to all the students that decide to attend there. Also, unlike a normal university, MTI is
only as long of a program as the student needs to learn their field instead of four or more years.
MTI is a school you can go to in which you will not have to be in a humongous town or city. There
is one weldingschool that is not that far away from Virginia, Illinois. This school is located in
Springfield, Illinois which is only about forty five minutes away from Virginia, Illinois which is
very reasonable for most people (Cost of Attending, 2017). Also the city of Springfield is not that
big of a city if you prefer to stay in a small town to where you do not have to deal with a lot of
people. The location is a very reasonable place for many people who want to stay close to home.
Another very reasonable part of MTI is that it is not all that expensive and can be very
affordable for a lot of people. The prices can vary depending on whether you are on campus, off
campus and away from home, or off campus and with your family. If you were to stay on campus,
the total cost would be, $14,300 which includes: tuition, fees, books, and supplies. If you were to

Igbo Culture
Simplicity can be observed throughout daily life. While easier to see in some cultures, daily life in
Igbo culture is more simple than other cultures. The Igbo culture shows simplicity through the
many traditions and customs in their culture. In the novel Things Fall Apart and research on the
modern day Igbo peoplereveals similarities between how simple the culture was originally, and how
the culture continues to show that today. First off, like other cultures, the culture is full of ideas

Like many other cultures, the Igbo generally have simple celebrations. Some celebrations are
more popular than others, but most people partake in the upbeat celebrations. There are also
many different traditions that are celebrated in different places. Achebe uses.... festivals,
masquerades, and kola nuts. This shows a few of the basic traditions the Igbo people have.
These simple traditions can be good, but may make people uninterested in celebrating. Another
important part of the Igbo culture is the folktales. Folktales play an important part in teaching
lessons. Achebe uses children as a metaphor for how simple lessons are taught when Ekwifi

Sawtooth Oak Case Study
The sawtooth oak (Quercus acutissima) is in the red oak family. Native to Asia, it is noted for
its fast growth (two feet per year) and early acorn production. The first acorns are routinely
produced in five to 10 years versus the 25 or 30 years it usually takes native oaks to start
producing acorns. The acorns are large and dropped in September or early October. The sawtooth
is also noted for its consistent annual production and not being as subject to frosts or poor crops
which often limit white oak production. Although the red oak group has a reputation for being less
palatable (containing more tannic acid) than the white oak group, the sawtooth does not. Years ago,

The two main components: the motte, an artificial mound atop which was built a fortified tower

Immigration Problems

American Lit B
Research Paper
27 September , 2017
In 2013, 13 percent of the U.S. population was foreign born. Current projections suggest that by
2065, nearly one in five people in the United States will have been born outside the country (Hing
25).3 Immigration has been an integral part of the United States since its colonial days. Over a
million legal and illegal immigrants take up residence in the United States each year. With the
country struggling to support the huge intake of new comers, life in America has been suffering
tremendously. The excessive stress put upon the welfare system, overuse of the family reunification
laws, and the exploitation of employment based immigration are reasons for immigration reform.
The American Government is trying to solve the deep rooted problems of immigration including
the 1965 law, Chain immigration, and Latino immigration.
Some factors from the past are widely responsible for the present immigration problems in the
United States. A major cause for all of the problems is the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act.
The 1965 Immigration law prioritized the relatives of U.S. citizens, while others were not able to
settle in U.S. (Salam 24).2 The biased national origin quotas of 1920s was replaced by the 1965
law, which focused on family unification ( Hing 25).4 This Act has kept some restrictions for the
immigration from Europe and Asia. The law set numerical restrictions on visas at 170,000 per year.

African, Medieval Kingdom Of Mali, Questions And Answers
1. Were you surprised by anything you read in the sources on the African, medieval kingdom of
Mali? I was surprised by how big the Mali Empire was, and how many people lived in the land
(roughly size of western Europe, 50 million people). I was also surprised by how rich Mansa Musa
was so rich that 500 slaves could go before him caring golden staffs that were four pounds!
2. As the people of medical West Africadid not generally record information through their own
written language, how do you think historians know so much about Mali? A lot of the information
known about the Mali Empire probably came from foreigners that visited a few of over 400 cities
in the Mali Empire. Since Mansa Musa built large scale projects, like palaces in Timbuktu and
Gao, architectural scholars and enthusiasts most likely visited them, and left detailed records.
Simerly, Musa also promoted education, as he built a university. Because of this, foreigners would
have come to the Mali Empire to study. During their stay, the students would also have written
about the empire. Finally, traders would have also have helped historians learn about the Mali
Empire. By recording what items were traded, and how much of each item was traded, historians
would know about the wealth of Mali. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus
From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there
has been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and
therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically.
From the initial stage of simply identifying the virusas a whole, diagnosis can now define the
specific species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve
Cell Culture, AntibodyDetection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time
RT PCR, which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. In terms of the therapeutic process,
there is still no cure or vaccine that has been approved or cleared for use on human patients with
EVD. The therapy hence largely depends on the immunity of the patient and general treatment of
symptoms as they occur.

electron microscope, it appears filamentous (Strong, et al. 2006). The genus Ebolavirus
comprises of five EBOVs; EBOV being identified as the causative agent of the recent outbreak

Afghanistan Essay
Afghanistan is a developing country; the country has faced a lot of troubles and difficulties soon
after its independence. They had faced difficulties in the development of constitutions and
regulations. The selection of leader was an issue; the major task was to prepare military for the
defence and protection of the state. In order to resolve all these issues, finance was the significant
need.
Despite several problems, the country is upgrading slowly and gradually. Numerous countries
supported Afghanistan in terms of finance and monetary forms, but the support provided by
International Monetary Fund is significant. International Monetary Fund along with World Bank is

The Human Body Has Changed Over 3000 Years Ago
The history of the human body has changed over 3,000 years ago. Many physicians based their
findings primarily through intuitive thinking and ancient philosophers. The primary reason I
chose this topic is because I love the anatomy and knowing all the organs, body parts, and the
way the body functions. After my aunt was diagnose with type 2 diabetes, I had a strong desire
to know, how could this be? I thought, Why not know the history behind it and the science itself.
What exactly caused it? What specific organs in the body were affected by it? And is it
preventable? Just take a look around science is all around you. You may not see it through the

well known in today s era. He believed diseases of the human body were naturally caused; rather
than by demons. While on the other hand, a Roman physician, Claudius Galenmade fallacious
judgements of the human body; primarily because he only dissected animals and not cadavers.
Andreas Vesaliushad been much more absurd; when performing dissectionon dead bodies, in his
anatomy class. Modern day philosophers Hippocrates, Claudius Galen, and Andreas Vesalius had a
passion for science and incorporated their thoughts in skills into their own work.
Hippocrates found factors, which contributed to the underlying causes of diseases, in the human
body. During his time people, people believed that diseases were caused by some demonic

Power In Robert Bolt s Play A Man For All Seasons
People in positions of power are always under scrutiny by those they rule. Despite their moves
being watched closely, rulers often have a deep seated inability to compromise their beliefs,
thus corrupting the government. In this day and age, it is far easier for the public to combat
this ignorant worldview, but in the time of King Henry VIII, this was nearly impossible. It took
men in other positions of power to stand against the king s will, but even this fared poorly for
the dissenters. In Robert Bolt s play A Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More was beheaded for
his decision to remain silent on the matter of the King s marriage. The leaders of England value
More and view him as a man for all seasons, but only while his morals match their... Show more

Opposing kings believe More supports their individual cause, yet neither is correct. The English
government brings More to trial because of his vague answers in response to the matter of Henry
VII s divorce. More s failure to speak his mind on the subject forces everyone around him to
draw conclusions based on their knowledge of his faith and loyalty to the crown. It is within
human nature to judge others, and the less information provided, the wilder the inferences
become. In this way, both Henry VII and the king of Spain believed More to be a man for all
seasons, but in reality, his morals prevented him from ever being a man for all seasons. It takes a
rare man to embody all the necessary traits to be prepared for any situation, good or

Choosing Between Low-Fat and Low-Carb Diets Essay
Kay s compromise is setting her up for troubles. She is doing the acceptable thing by researching
the issue however she has missed some finer points. While fats at 9 calories per gram do in fact
yield more calories per gram than carbohydrates which are 4 calories per gram and as such do
indeed have a greater potential for energy use she is misguided in her thinking and taking an
approach where she drops her carbohydrates low and takes in high fat in her diet is perverting the
facts. A diet of the energy dense fats will not be better for her in this event. She needs to trust and

The Fight For Racial Equality
Throughout American history, the fight for racial equality amongst society has had it s ups and
downs especially during the Civil Rights Movement. John Lewis, a civil rights leader, delivered
Speech at the March on Washington in occurred during the 1960s America where racial
discrimination was at it s highest. This mostly caught the attention of the younger generation of the
1960s and the black community, which had a more vigilant tone. Lewis purpose for this speech is
to inform the American citizens that African Americans want reform to protect themselves from
harm. Lewis main claims he wanted his speech to symbolize is that all races should have the right
to hold equal laws and freedom like any other white citizen had.

Lewis, however, highlights these people whose lives will be greatly affected by decisions about and
fights for civil rights so that those who are marching remember that the fight continues and has real
consequences.
Therefore, Lewis remarks in the first paragraph demonstrate that he identifies with the concerns of
grassroots activists across the country who could not attend the march, and he explains that he has
doubts about this march doing enough if the movement does not focus more on the grassroots
efforts of its members. (Mrs.Pruden)
John Lewis defends the Civil Rights Bill, but as he goes on, Lewis states that until any course of
action is taken towards the bill, it would not be much help to the African Americancommunity and
would not protect the innocent citizens who are victims of the police state. For instance, in the
text, Lewis believes that the bill is not going to fulfill the needs and safety of the black
community, in which he states in its present form, this bill will not protect the citizens of Danville,
Virginia, who must live in constant fear of a police state (para 2). That is to say, Lewis feels that
the bill that was presented to them, even though they still advocated it, will not be enough to secure
the black citizen and need to

John P. Kotter s Eight Stages Of Change
Introduction
The definition of change according to the Webster dictionary is to become different or to make
someone or something different. John P Kotter writes that change is always about changing the
behavior of people (preface XII) Kotter explains that change is a concept that is used by
organizations to restructure or improve their business behavior. Many companies find it difficult to
initiate change due to the lack of motivate employees or leaders. In his book Kotter proposes eight
stage process that could help organizations that are looking for change.
Discussion
The Eight important stages of change by John P. Kotter
Stage one: Establishing a Sense of Urgency
In this stage Kotter shares business stories of successful companies that increased urgency to spark
a change. He explains that there are four behaviors which could prevent change. Behaviors like

He explains that when the right team is not there changes will not happen. Those who should be
driving change are not doing their job, and nobody wants to confront the issue, (Kotter and Cohen,
p38) if the team itself is fragmented and it is not functioning properly improvement and change at
the work environment will never happen. To create effective teams you need the right people that
can work together as a team. Kotten list four ingredients that are important to create a good team
on page 46 of Kotter and Cohen book:
A single individual who feels great urgency usually pulls in the first people.
Individuals are selected to have the right combination of capabilities within the team.
The team is created by pulling people in and occasionally pushing people out.
As change progresses throughout large organizations, additional group are formed at lower levels.
These teams help drive action within their

Passionate About Women s Reproductive Rights
Something I feel very passionate about women s reproductive rights. As a Christian I believe
that it s not right to take any life for granted, but I think it s even more important is not imposing
my ideals on someone else. I think every women should have control over her body. Only
females to impose my ideals on other people. Females are gifted with the blessing of a child
baring woum. Sometimes situations are unfortunate and terrible. I never will be in the shoes of
the women next, nor will she be in mine. Why should I be the one to make the decision that will
transform her life. I understand that an unborn child has a heart and is just as much of a person as
I am, but I know that things happen for a reason. For example, my father had multiple... Show more

Something terrible must have happened to the person before an abortion is even an acceptable
thought. Then others say that even in cases of rape the woman must keep the child. It s true that
the child is not at fault for the tragedy, but should someone who has never felt the pain and the
helplessness of rape be allowed to make that choice for those forced to experience it? Even if the
woman only wants an abortion due to the fact that she is not prepared then who am I to decide
how she will be forced to spend her time, money, energy, and the next 18 years of her life on?
Also, if abortions were banned completely then women would just receive an unregulated, unsafe,
and illegal abortion. Those who think the that drugs are the most important things in life will find
a way to get them, those who believe they need a gun because their life is threatened will find a
gun, and those who think an abortion is the only thing that will let them go on with their life will
find someone who is willing to perform the surgery. My second question was chosen because I feel
that a group of people is making the decisions for the entire, and is enforcing their way of life on
millions who have completely different mindsets. But if the country demands ignore that, then in
what ways can they help prevent the pregnancy or help once the baby has already

Culture And Subcultures Of Fashion
If you look online, there are millions of pictures of Harajuku style. Guys and girls dressing up
androgynously, or wearing the most bizzare pieces of clothing ranging from sky high platforms to
mixing unlikely prints together. Some even wear their hair and makeup in the most avant garde
way. Japan for a while has been displaying fashionthat intrigues us and influences us in many ways
and what people don t know is that of these fashions there are different communities and
subcultures of fashion that these people in the pictures conform to. Japan has a vast array of street
fashion styles and trends. They are all mixed with elements of traditional, foreign and/or local
styles. Their street fashion cultures vary from the tan skinned Ganguro girls to the victorian styled
Lolitas. One of the most popular and biggest Japanese fashioninfluencers were the high schoolgirls
of Kogyaru. What exactly did these schoolgirls do to become one of the biggest trendsetters of
Japan? The answers are within their signature style, Japan s popular magazines, and ability to
popularize certain products.
Kogyaru style was started by and became very popular among high school girls. That s what the
name literally means: ko means little but it could also stand for high school and gyaru means girl.
To achieve their style you must have a high school outfit with the pleated skirts hitched up to

RELATION TO THE DEMAND AND SUPPLY OF NEW MOTOR VEHICLES.
INTRODUCTION
A continual upward trend in the price of crude oil in recent years has led to increasing concerns
about its economic implications, both abroad and in South Africa. This study looks at the rising oil
prices and their impact on the South African economy within the framework of supply and demand,
looking at the impact rising oil prices has had on demand and supply for vehicles as well as the
impact on South African GDP growth. Cognisance must be taken of the fact that this ... Show more

PRIMARY FACTORS
Taking into account the primary factors that can cause a change in demand (or a shift in the
demand curve) are
consumer income
prices of related goods
advertising and consumer preferences
population
seasonal factors
Understanding these factors in relation to rising oil costs and vehicle demand makes it possible to
predict the market response to real economic events.
Consumer income
Over the year s South African consumer income has increased which has resulted in an increasing
demand of motor vehicles. The demand for inferior goods (i.e. public transport) decreased as more
people chose to purchase their own vehicles.
Prices of related goods
Changes in the price of related goods (substitutes and complements) leads to changes in demand.
An increase in the price of Oil as a complement good has caused a decrease in the demand of Motor
Vehicles especially since the late 2006 when there has been a steep increase in the oil prices.
Advertising and consumer preferences
Consumers are becoming more environmentally conscience and this has resulted in a steady
demand for eco friendly modes of transport. With the introduction of hybrid vehicles as well as
plans to improve public transport within South Africa consumers are becoming less reliant on the
necessity of a motor vehicle as an only means of transport.
Population
The growing increase in population of consumers has increased demand.

Plastic as a Commodity
Silverman (2007), states that, Plastic constitutes 90 percent of all trash floating in the world s
oceans . Plastic has become a well known and wanted commodity around the world. It is a
commodity that is involved in most things that we use; however, we are oblivious of its bad
effects. In the article Plastic is rubbish it shows that in 2010 alone, Americans created 31 million
tons of plastic wastesuch as containers, appliances, and cups (n.d.). When plastic is used this
excessively it acts as a hazard and a harmful commodity, since it endangers the lives of many
creatures including humans. The way this commodity is disposed off should be efficient and
should not result in harming the environment either. To solve this problem, all governments should
take action and improper plastic disposal should be made illegal and its production should be
moderated to lessen its effect on the environment, humanhealth, and overall on the economy
worldwide.Governments around the world respond differently to the issue of plastic bags, some
are in the view that plastic bags are harmful both to the environment and to human beings while
others are in complete support of their use. Single use plastic shopping bags are the most common
types of plastic bags around the world (Plastic Statistics, n.d). In most cases, these bags are
distributed to customers free of charge by shopping malls, supermarkets and other shopping places
after purchasing goods. One

The History of Chemistry Essay
History of Chemistry
Chemistry has been around for a various amount of years. The beginning of chemistry was first
acknowledged in 10,000 BC. The ancient civilizations used technologies that came to become the
makeup of the many branches of chemistry. These early civilizations would extract metal from ores,
make pottery and glazes, beer and wine fermentation, extraction of chemicals from plants for
medicine, making fat into soap, making glass, and many chemistry related tasks were done.
Alchemists set the stage for modern chemistry by performing experiments and recording the results.
Robert Boyle wrote The Sceptical Chymist in 1661, and in this book it he talks about the difference

Henry Cavendish had isolated hydrogen in 1766. He soon called inflammable air. In 1773, Carl
Wilhelm Scheele discovered oxygen. He came to call this fire air. Scheele had not published his
achievement soon enough, and Joseph Priestley did instead. Priestley revered to oxygen as
dephlogisticated air. He had also invented soda water. In 1789 Antoine Lavoisier, father of
modern chemistry, established the law of conservation of mass, Lavoisier s law. He had made a
system which named chemical compounds. This was put into his book called Methods of
Chemical Nomenclature in 1787. This chemical compound naming system is still used today. John
Dalton proposed Dalton s law in 1803. This law describes the relationship the makeup in a mixture
of gases and the pressure that each contributes to the mixture. Dalton had also proclaimed in 1803
that all matter was composed of small indivisible particles. In 1808 he published New System of
Chemical Philosophy where he proposed a modern atomic theory. In this book he made an outline
of the identification of the atomic theory. Dalton claimed that atoms of a given element possess
unique characteristics and weight, and three types of atoms existed. Those three types are simple
(elements), compound (simple compounds), and complex (complex molecules). There were many
uncertainties about Dalton s published book. In 1811, Amedeo

European Imperialism In South Africa Essay
Throughout the 18th and 19th century, Europe underwent an Industrial Revolution. People began
relying heavily on machines. Various countries required resources for their industrial lifestyle, and
thus they enforced a policy of imperialism. Imperialism is when a country politically,
economically, and socially stronger takes control over a weaker country and utilizes the resources
from that country. However, many countries abused their power during imperialism. European
nations are guilty of abuse of power in the Congo, India, and South Africa. Firstly, the Belgians
abused their power in the Congo. The Belgians stole land from the Congolese. This led to a
widespread famine, for the Congolese previously used much of this land for hunting and... Show

After the South Africans lost the Anglo Zulu War, the British sent thousands of people to
concentration camps. In these concentration camps, the natives were exposed to many diseases
such as smallpox and measles. As a result, a great quantity of the population died. The British took
advantage of their strength and hurt the natives. Additionally, the British separated white colonists
from the natives during imperialism. They forced the natives to live in different communities from
the Europeans, and the natives had less rights. The British perceived themselves as better than the
native South Africans, so they practiced shameful racial policies in South Africa. Furthermore, the
British economically abused the South Africans. While they were in South Africa, the British only
cared about the gold mining industry, and they did anything to bolster their profit. Therefore, they
often stole land from the natives without giving compensation. Britain profited greatly from the
gold mining industry in South Africa, but they never shared their wealth with the natives.
Essentially, the British stole wealth from the natives. Britain immorally took advantage of South
Africa during imperialism. In summation, the Belgians abused their power in the Congo during the
Age of Imperialism and the British abused their power in India and South Africa during the Age of
Imperialism. Although these European countries required resources

  • 2. Analysis Of Mind Game Isn T Just A White Coat By Sandra... To summarize Mind Games: Sometimes a White coat Isn t Just a White Coat article by Sandra Blakeslee. The article is about an experiment where people pay more attention to a doctor with a white coat then a painter with a white coat. It s not just the effect of knowing someone is a doctor. The effect really occurs when that doctor is wearing the coat and knowing its symbolic meaning. Dr. Galinsky said, our thoughtprocesses is based on physical experiences that set off associated abstract concepts, and now it appears that those experiences include the cloths we wear. The study does not explain why as humans we do thing it just proves that we do, do it. The study says if people carry a hot drink others will believe they have a warmer personality, ... • 3. Dealing with Mental Illness in Kay Redfield Jamison s An... Is acceptance of mental illness the key to living a more fulfilled life? I first became interested in bipolar or, manic depression a few years ago when somebody close to me was diagnosed with it. I wanted to understand it better but found that the jargon and detached observations of psychiatric theory and practice that you can find on the internet didn t really help me to understand what people actually go through. Kay Redfield Jamison s An Unquiet Mind manages to cut through all that to create a fiery, passionate, authentic account of the psychotic experience and introduce you to that facts of the illness without you even realizing it. Kay Jamison s story is proof that mentally ill people, with help from medication, can live a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s at the very back of your mind, but fear never lets you suppose it. (P.22) Another reason why people might not take medication is because it takes away not only the highs and lows but the essence of peoples personalities, it leaves them enigmatic and slow. The moods you are so used to having on a daily basis fade away until you are left feeling dull (p.79) This is especially hard for people with manic depressive illness because there moods are very much part of their lives. Many of the world s most creative people suffer from mental illness and they find that it is very hard to go from being brilliant to average. When I was depressed, nothing came to me, and nothing came out of me. When manic, or mildly so I would write a paper in a day, my ideas would flow. (p.114). when you re forgetting the unbearable pain of depression the memories of seductive highs can easily lure you back off your medication and into another costly episode. It takes many people years and years to get used to the idea of having a mental illness but once they find a treatment that is right for them and get used to being on it then there is every chance that they can lead a normal, controllable life. As they say You have to know the rules to break them. People don t always have to spend their whole life on lithium or at least not on such a high dose. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They seem to seamlessly start up small businesses and make them grow and develop themselves almost overnight to big successes. Therefore he often runs a lifestyle firm that is based on trade or craft which, however, will not grow to any considerable size. The entrepreneur in turn is opportunistic, innovative, self confident and acts proactive and decisive. He is highly self motivated by his vision and is therefore willing to take even greater risks and can live with a high uncertainty. That is why the entrepreneur has a growth firm and is pursuing growth and personal wealth. Lastly the manager is administrating, or in other words managing, an entity that does not belong to him. His purpose is to build up the organisation, by means that are similar to larger firms. (Burns, 2007) However there are some exceptions from that generalization: An owner manager of course can have a growing business, while an entrepreneur could manage a business he owns together with a business associate and therefore has not complete control over the capital. (Burns, 2007) As Fraja (1996) suggests every firm can be assigned to either one of the following types: Either it is an entrepreneurial firm, where the owner manager or entrepreneur is in exclusive control, organizes production, borrows funds and retains any residual returns from his work. Or it is a managerial firm, where the individual that has the right to residual returns remains outside the company and the individual that has the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Was William Of Normandy Justified William of Normandy was the legitimate heir to the throne of England in 1066 for many reasons. Legitimacy is the realness of something or someone that is valid, supported, and accepted. He was a legitimate ruler because he had military accomplishment, he had justification from the religious world, and he had the peoples approval. One criteria William of Normandy met to meet the standards of being a legitimate king was, he had military accomplishment. One example was when William went to war with Duke conan of Britanny, as the intense batlttle was filled with battle soldiers on horseback throwing lances, and trying to set fire to the defences, and it finaly came to an end when the mighty conan surrendered. Another military accomplishment William of Normandy had was after Willam heard that Harold overtook king after king Eward died, William was furious. This caused him to organize a fleet of warships and invade England, and the Battle of Hastingshas offically begun. Most notibily, he gave land to the churches because the pope supported his claim to the English throne, therefore he had religous support to his rulership. Another example of his religous justification is, his half brother Odo. He made Odo the Bishiop of Bayeux, and even built a catherdiral there. Odo was always on Williams side in battle, by leading prayers for victory..( Britan s Bayeux Tapestry ar Reading Museum ) Finally, William had receieved the oath of allegiance from Harold, which is another justification he recieved from the religous aspect of life.(Crack ВЁBatle of Hastings 1066 ) overall, throughout Williams rule, the religous life was a big part in his sucession and support he had, from the pope to his half brother who became the ... These lifesaving inventions have always been quite controversial, and without knowing what they are fully capable of, some people and governments won t take any further actions to get vaccinations to people who are in need. For example, in India, the government is very detached from the issue, and hasn t invested in the heavily needed vaccines for its people. Especially the children, as one third of the children unvaccinated in the entire world reside in India. Also, Recent events in countries have drastically impacted how many people receive vaccines. As in the Central African Republic, the country has been in a fuming ongoing civil war that has killed over 6,000 people from its upbringing in 2012. People in the Central African Republic have been displaced, and are in desperate need other things, such as food or water. The longer a person goes without a vaccine, the higher the chance is of contracting a disease or virus. In Nigeria alone, the national data showed less than 30% coverage for all antigens, and this decreased to 12.9% [in] 2003 (NCBI). Vaccines are a significant problem today because people are very uneducated about them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The talk by Wilkinson outlines social problems that correlate to inequality that is widening throughout developed countries. The Figures provide statistics of the inequality within Canada and the patterns that are not temporary but also not inevitable as discussed in the article about the Three Cities of Toronto. Wilkinson also made a point to state that national income and economic growth had no correlation to life expectancy in the developed world anymore. Wilkinson goes on to state that the bigger the income gaps within societies lead to a deteriation of these social problems within societies. The difference when comparing societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when looking within societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative income within a specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to the idea talked about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus the census tract. The blockface data has extreme detail (or spatial variation) and the census tract does not have as much information (reduces variability). In this analogy, societies would be the blockface data and different countries would be the census tract. Turning our attention specifically on Canada, we can examine Figure A and see the inequality that has been rising to an unprecedented high of income inequality. Although we are see that through taxation this inequality has been reduced, the problem still remains significant as we can see the household inequality is drastically rising in all the major metropolitans in Canada especially from 2000 2005. Purpose: Preschoolers with verbalization sound disorders have clinically consequential impairments in the engenderment of sound production of the ambient language. Although many of these produced sound errors resolve after several years (with or sometimes without intervention), developmental appropriate speech sound production is not always achieved. Some sound errors may continue into adulthood. Concretely, (Preston, Hull, Edwards, 2013) intended to determine if preschool verbalization error types (e.g., atypical sound errors and distortion errors), which may reflect different levels of psycholinguistic processing, are indicative of school age phonological awarenessand verbalization sound outcomes. The purpose of the present study was to determine if the types of preschool verbalization sound errors can signal school age outcomes for children with speech and sound disorders. The second purpose was to determine if preschool verbalization errors are symbolic of school age verbalization sound production skills. Preston, Hull, Edwards (2013) hypothesized that children who generate many distortion errors in preschool may be at risk for continuing verbalization sound errors at school age. • 13. Examples Of Promiscuity In Brave New World Introduction: During the writing of the novel, Brave New World, Aldous Huxley, the author of the book, saw the way society was beginning to change. Throughout the story, he explores many different predictions that he has seen create an affect our world today. One of the main predictions he made was on the way promiscuity has changed the view of romantic relationships. As Huxley began to see people s sexual behavior change he used his ideas to integrate in with how the world would turn out. Huxley incorporates promiscuity in his utopian society called the World State, to foreshadow how the world is conforming to the beliefs incorporated in the novel. Analysis Portion: Aldous Huxley foresees that promiscuity will become socially acceptable and engrained in culture due to the lack of romantic relationships. • 14. Summary Of The Bitter Pill The Bitter Pill: Why medical bills are killing us written by Steven Brill delves into the question as to why medical bills are so high. As Brill begins his research he analyzed bills from hospitals, doctors, and drug companies. Additionally, he interviewed doctors, Medicare and insurance administrators, and gathered patient stories across the nation. He found that the United Statesspent more money on healthcare than any other developed countries, he stated We may be shocked at the $60 billion price tag for cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy, [however], we spent almost that much last week on healthcare (Brill 2013). He also noted yet in every measurable way, the results our healthcare system produces are no better and often worse than the outcomes in those countries (Brill 2013). From the charts and graphs that Brill provided shows that the sixty percent of personal bankruptcy filings per year are related to medical bills. Life expectancy in the United States is the lowest amongst the countries that spend most on healthcare, our infant mortality rank is fiftieth in the world, and that one pill cost as much as seven pills in other developed countries such as France. Brill found that in many similar cases, like that ones he presented in the article, Medicare would have at least paid for a small portion of the bill. However, those who don t qualify for Medicaid and don t have insurance are often asked to pay excessive prices. Strengths Although the United States is said to offer poor health services among other developed countries, it still has some internal features that makes the system thrive over most healthcare system. One of the major strength in the healthcare system is the breakthrough of technology advances. Some technologies may improve the efficiency of care delivery by reducing procedure time, length of stay, or number of hospitalizations, thereby increasing the capacity of the hospital to treat additional patients (Sorenson et al 2013). Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Elie Wiesel once said. Nazis tormented the Jews all throughout the Holocaustjust because they didn t like their race. There have been multiple movies, books, and graphic novels about the holocaust showing all the traumatic deaths, and other horrifying events that took place. The graphic novel Maus written by Art Spiegelman shows the survival story of a man named Vladek, and written by his son Artie. Vladek was a true survivor, whether it was purely luck or not, but he also cared about other people who were there with him. In the movie Schindler s List directed by Steven Spielberg this shows the story about the holocaust and how one man named Schindler saved many men, women, and families. In both stories, there are multiple motifs such as trains, lists, and death. Both stories show the same motifs in very similar ways. One way the motifs are the same is that the trains represent their journey to their own death. In Maus, there are multiple pictures of trains throughout the novel. Trains were used for transportation and ultimately to send Jewsto concentration camps. One of the most important trains was the one that the Spiegelman s were on when they thought they were going to Hungary, but they ended up being at Auschwitz. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Design of Comparator for Successive Approximation Analog Digital Converter Manali Matey Department of Electronics Engineering YCCE Nagpur, India manali.matey@gmail.com Swati Nitnaware Department of Electronics Engineering YCCE Nagpur, India swatitidke02@gmail.com Abstract SA ADCs are widely used in low power applications. Three architectures of the capacitor array Digital Analog Converter (DAC) used in SA ADC that are mentioned in this paper are binary weighted DAC, unary weighted DAC and segmented DAC. In this paper comparator is been designed for all these SA ADC architectures. The comparator used in SA ADC plays an important role. The main purpose of the comparator is to compare a signal with a reference signal and produce an output depending on whether the input signal is greater or smaller than the reference signal. The structure of the comparator does not depend on the segmentation degree (i.e. the number of unary bits), for all the binary, segmented, and unary structures, the same circuit configuration with similar power consumption can be employed. Keywords Successive Approximation Analog to Digital Converter(SA ADC); comparators; segmented capacitor based digital to analog converter (DAC); unary capacitor based digital to analog converter (DAC) I.INTRODUCTION Successive approximation analog to digital converter (SA ADC) has become very attractive in low power applications due to their low power consumption. • 24. The Tax Of The Cadillac Tax Description The Cadillac tax is a popular name for the highly controversial excise tax on applicable high cost employer sponsored insurance (ESI) coverage imposed under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Gravelle, 2015). Great debate ensued following the proposal of this tax, which was initially set to be implemented in 2013, however differences in opinion between the House of Representatives and the Senate culminated in the delay in the implementation of this tax until 2018 (Herring, 2011). It is a nondeductible 40% excise tax on the value of applicable employer sponsored health coverage that exceeds a determined threshold (Lowry, 2015). The tax targets employer sponsored health coverage plans that are considered to be overly generous or have relatively low cost sharing requirements in an effort to raise revenue to offset the costs of implementing other ACA provisions, as well as encourage a reduction in the growing expenditure and costs of national health care and offset some of the effects of the income tax exclusion for ESI (Lowry, 2015). Applicable coverage for the purposes of the Cadillac tax includes any coverage availed to an employee by an employer that is excludable from an employee s gross income under section 106 of the IRC (Mach, 2015). Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there has been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically. From the initial stage of simply identifying the virusas a whole, diagnosis can now define the specific species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve Cell Culture, AntibodyDetection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time RT PCR, which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. The primary reason I chose this topic is because I love the anatomy and knowing all the organs, body parts, and the way the body functions. After my aunt was diagnose with type 2 diabetes, I had a strong desire to know, how could this be? I thought, Why not know the history behind it and the science itself. What exactly caused it? What specific organs in the body were affected by it? And is it preventable? Just take a look around science is all around you. You may not see it through the naked eye, but believe me it s there. The Father of Medicine , and Greek physician, Hippocrates is well known in today s era. He believed diseases of the human body were naturally caused; rather than by demons. While on the other hand, a Roman physician, Claudius Galenmade fallacious judgements of the human body; primarily because he only dissected animals and not cadavers. Andreas Vesaliushad been much more absurd; when performing dissectionon dead bodies, in his anatomy class. Modern day philosophers Hippocrates, Claudius Galen, and Andreas Vesalius had a passion for science and incorporated their thoughts in skills into their own work.
