The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. The title “Vibe” emphasises how
people are enjoying and dancing
to the latest pop music out
there. This would persuade
readers to buy this magazine as
it has a positive impression
because of the word.
The skyline on the top
of the masthead is
clearly asking the
reader a question; it
almost sounds like a
competition on which
singer is “the number
one genius?”. This
allows them to make
their own judgement on
which one’s better.
By following the calm,
peaceful theme of this
magazine, they want to
show their readers that
this magazine is not too
full with the latest
news. They might be
trying to make the title
to convey its atmosphere
of the pop genre.
I like the way that the text
looks straight and used by the
same type of shape format- the
letters almost look like a
square.
I like the way the layout looks
pure to show the wholeness of the
magazine. it looks very heavenly,
the artist chose to wear
immaculate white clothing.
2. “The Source” sounds like a piece
of information you get from
different sources such as
newspapers and books. It also
gives the impression that every
news they give us is a source of
reliability.
It has the names of famous
artists. This is clearly include
to show that they each have a
featured news story which each
comes up after the previous one.
It doesn’t give out too much
detail; they only summarise on
who’s in the contents.
I find the hand holding a
microphone icon very clever
as this is used to
symbolise the exclusiveness
of the magazine with its
pop news. It also
represents the press; they
always ask constant
questions to famous
celebrities.
The colour white is
specifically used for the
title. The colour is meant
to show that nothing in the
contents of this magazine
is biased or omitted but
most importantly, white is
used to make the text clear
enough to see from the dark
multi-coloured background.
I like the way the
background is edited to
relate the euphoric feeling
of getting into the music’s
situation and its recurring
feelings. The faded orange/
yellow lighting could have
been used to illuminate with
the main image’s multi
coloured lighting.
3. Howl
The title doesn’t seem to
have much connotation but it
describes the sound an alpha
wolf makes to attract the
pack or informing them of
prey. In comparison, the
title is calling out to
readers to read the magazine
and its contents.
Euphoria
This title appeals to a teenage
audience. If I used a colourful
style and font, it would clash
well with the colour themes
that I am going to use. The
title says it all; it implies
excitement and happiness which
will get readers to get into
the magazine with the latest
updates in pop music.
RadioGR8
By combining these two words, I
think that this title would
appeal to a wider audience.
For instance, not only the
younger audience would be
targeted at , but also the
older audience as 91% of them
are more likely to tune in
their preferred radio stations
and gain some information from
them. Using the connotations
for the word “great”, I’m
trying to converge the language
towards teenagers. Another
reason is to make it stand out.
MSC (Music)
I decided not to use the whole
word, but the initials of it
which I removed two letters in
a pattern. This makes it easier
to remember the title rather
than using the full word. I was
very inspired by the idea
because some singers tend to
change their names e.g. M.I.A
and also for their albums such
as MDNA (Madonna).
Decide on own title of magazine
Overall, I think I love the
way the title MSC sounds.
It’s very catchy and easy to
remember. My intention was
to make my own music
magazine look unique and
very new. Euphoria is also
in my liking because it has
the description of the
feeling of listening to
music. #POP is most
appealing. I’ll be able to
make the magazine more
similar to Twitter: each
page will have a style
converged closely to my
magazine. Crunk might be too
relevant for the younger
side of my audience as I
will be aiming it to young
adults too.
#POP
I’m trying to familiarise the
common hashtag symbol that the
teenage audience uses more often on
known social networking sites such
as Twitter and Facebook. This is to
make the magazine more into their
liking; they want news that appeals
to them every month. It’s compared
to “tweets” they get from twitter
celebs such as Justin Bieber and
Taylor Swift.
Crunk
“Crunk” is slang for extremely
fun and wild. I think this
title applies to the younger
audience such as teenagers:
they act rebellious and
finding ways to make life
exciting.
