India is both a major producer and consumer.
India currently ranked 11th greatest energy producer accounting 2.4% of world’s total energy production and as the world’s 6th greatest energy consumer.
Despite its large annual energy production, India is a net energy importer, mostly due to imbalance between oil production and consumption.
The utility electricity sector in India had an installed capacity of 278.734 GW as of 30 September 2015. Renewable Power plants constituted 28% of total installed capacity and Non-Renewable Power Plants constituted the remaining 72%.
During the year 2014-15, the per capita electricity generation in India was 1,010 kWh with total electricity consumption (utilities and non utilities) of 938.823 billion or 746 kWh per capita electricity consumption.
Electric Energy Consumption in agriculture was recorded highest (18.45%) in 2014-15 among all countries.
Renewable energy is making its move. Eighteen percent of all electricity in the United States was produced by renewable sources in 2017, including solar, wind and hydroelectric dams. That’s up from 15 percent in 2016.
According to data released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), by the end of 2017, global renewable generation capacity increased by 167 GW (gigawatts) and reached 2,179 GW worldwide. This represents a yearly growth of around 8.3 percent, the average for seven straight years in a row.

Business-as-usual development model of Nepal is flawed, as it is facing challenges from impact of climate change, air pollution from unplanned urbanisation, and still majority of population relies on firewood for energy consumption. Thus, it needs to embrace renewable energy for sustainable development of the country.
In the present generation energy plays a vital role in our world and for human life it´s very important factor. There is a methodical meeting taking place regarding the conservation of energy and every time there is a review in the agenda. Energy demand and supply were endeavored by these countries. To rectify these problems, there should be more research in the generation of energy with the greater efficiency and try to use energy in more efficient manner. Solar energy remains as the most prominent source of energy as it is cost effective and environmentally friendly. Reviews convey that solar energy systems will play a major role in the power generations. As per present scenario there is a great importance to the solar energy using photovoltaic systems. Photovoltaic systems exhibit an important role for solar energy production.
This project enumerates ways to mitigate climate change through eight strategies. Each strategy, called as 'wedge', when implemented could reduce carbon emission by 1b ton by 2055. This project prioritizes these strategies based on cost of implementation and public opinion. Ranks are assigned from 1 to 8, with 1 for highly feasible [low cost and less criticism] and 8 for hardly feasible.
As seen from the presentation, adopting to biofuels is found to be least feasible (rank-8), followed by fuel switching for electricity (rank-7). In contrast, improving transport efficiency is found to be highly feasible (rank-1), followed by efficiency in electricity production (rank-2). Justifications (qualitative and quantitative) are provided for the ranking of each strategy.
In the concluding slides, stakeholder perspectives are provided for automobile industry and industrial/developing nations. The climate wedges concept was developed by Princeton University, Ford and BP to find solutions to greenhouse gas problem (see references).

Energy Efficiency: A Sign of Personal Virtue or an Untapped Business Opportun...Sasin SEC
by Peter du Pont, Vice-President, Government & Clean Energy Consulting, Nexant Inc.
According to the Asian Development Bank, a total of $944 billion of investment will be needed in energy savings opportunities by 2020 in order for China, India, and Southeast Asian countries to meet their national targets for EE and greenhouse gas emission reductions. Yet only a fraction of this investment is currently being planned. This talk will address the proverbial $20 bill lying on the ground and describe why there are so few takers, and what is needed to “sex” up energy efficiency so that it becomes a more broadly bankable business opportunity. It will describe different business and regulatory models for stimulating investments in energy efficiency in buildings, factories, and the transport sector.
Dr. Peter du Pont leads the clean energy initiatives at Nexant Asia and has more than 25 years of experience developing sustainable energy and efficiency programs in the U.S. and Asia.

Detection of Broken Bars in Three Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor using F...Dr.NAGARAJAN. S
Finite element method is more precise than the winding function approach, as it is based on the actual geometry of the machine and the machine model can easily be modified in order to study the effect of faults on the machine’s performance. Accurate models of the machine under healthy and faulty conditions are developed. This paper presents simulations of broken bars detection in a three phase squirrel cage induction motor under no load, half load and full load conditions for two and eight broken bars. The analysis is done using MagNet.
Hybrid Green Energy Systems for Uninterrupted ElectrificationDr.NAGARAJAN. S

This model is developed and integrated to study the concept of generating systems. In this model, a PV panel of 300 watts is designed and integrated to a bidirectional converter with a battery backup to extract power, while the wind power is harnessed with a transformer coupled a dual-half-bridge converter. The model proposed is designed with a meritorious objective of sustainable, cost-effective, less component count reduced losses, and good efficiency with a good relia- bility. The system works day and night to produce output with good efficiency. The simulation results are obtained using MATLAB software 2014a, and hence, the performance is analyzed.
Hybrid Pixel-Based Method for Multimodal Medical Image Fusion Based on Integr...Dr.NAGARAJAN. S
Medical imaging plays a vital role in medical diagnosis and treatment. However, distinct imaging modality yields information only in limited domain. Studies are done for analysis information collected from distinct modalities of same patient. This led to the introduction of image fusion in the field of medicine and the progression of image fusion techniques. Image fusion is characterized as the amalgamation of significant data from numerous images and their incorporation into seldom images, generally a solitary one. This fused image will be more instructive and precise than the indi- vidual source images that have been utilized, and the resultant fused image comprises paramount information. The main objective of image fusion is to incorporate all the essential data from source images which would be pertinent and comprehensible for human and machine recognition. Image fusion is the strategy of combining images from distinct modalities into a single image [1]. The resultant image is utilized in variety of applications such as medical diagnosis, identification of tumor and surgery treatment [2]. Before fusing images from two distinct modalities, it is essential to preserve the features so that the fused image is free from inconsistencies or artifacts in the output.
Current mode controlled fuzzy logic based inter leaved cuk converter SVM inve...Dr.NAGARAJAN. S
Recent developments in intelligent control methods and power electronics have amended PhotoVoltaic (PV) based DC to AC converters related to AC drives. Interleaved cuk converter and inverter find their way in interconnecting PV and Induction Motor Drive (IMD). Simulation studies were done for closed loop InterLeaved Cuk Converter and Inverter fed Induction Motor Drive (ILCCIIMD) systems with conventional and intelligent controllers.
These studies were carried out using MATLAB simulink based models for ILCCIIMD. For production of DC- voltage in the input of the inverter, PV fed InterLeaved Cuk-regulator is recommended. Cuk-regulator is utilized for enhancing the output of the PV system. Closed loop Proportional-Integral (PI), Proportional- Resonant(PR) and Fuzzy-Logic(FL) controlled ILCCIIMD systems are simulated and their outcome like dy- namic responses and torque ripple are related for an Electric Vehicle(EV) application. The proposed IL- CCIIMD system with FLC is found to have better dynamic characteristics and lesser torque ripple when compared to the system with conventional controller.
Three phase induction motors are complex electro-mechanical devices widely used in most industrial applications. Induction motors are susceptible to many types of fault in industrial application such as rotor bar broken fault, stator inter turn fault, eccentricity fault. Out of these faults eccentricity is very specific in squirrel cage induction motor. If the initial stage of motor failure is not identified will cause the severe damage and production shutdowns. This paper presents the simulations of eccentricity fault detection in three phase squirrel cage induction motor under various load conditions for healthy and faulty conditions. In this paper, dynamic model of induction motor is developed using CAD package called MagNet for static and transient 2D analysis. The various machine parameters like stator current, magnetic flux density, and magnetic torque are calculated and their values are compared under healthy and faulty conditions.

2. Global warming?
The world is getting hotter, and humans are responsible.
Temperatures over land and ocean have gone up 0.8°
Celsius (1.4° Fahrenheit), on average, in that span
Greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide trap heat at the Earth's
surface, preventing that heat from escaping back out into
space too quickly.
So when we burn coal or oil for energy or cut down forests and
add even more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, the planet
warms up.

1Kwh of electricity(Thermal power plant) will
generate 0.94 Kg of CO2 Emission to atmosphere.
6. Total CO2 Emission
Total electricity generation in our country is 1433.4
TWH.
The gross electricity consumption was 1122Kwh per
capita in the year 2016-2017.
Each person responsible for 1122*0.94*0.70=673 kg
carbon Emission.
7. CO2 absorption
A tree can inhale 20.3 kg co2/year and exhales enough oxygen for
a family of four
33 Trees are required to inhale 673 kg ofco2
8. Tree Population
Total Population of our country is 1.267 billion.
Has a Tree Population of 35 billion ,leading to 28
Trees per person , shortage is 33-28=5 trees.
So Every person has to plant 5 Trees to avoid
