This document contains two lesson plans for teaching parts of the body and parts of a plant in kindergarten. The first lesson plan uses a thematic approach to teach parts of the body by showing pictures, describing and counting body parts, and having students match body part names to pictures. The second lesson plan uses a brain-based approach to teach parts of a plant by reviewing body parts, reading a poem about plants, showing and naming plant parts, having group work labeling plant parts, and an activity cutting out plant pictures. Both lessons aim to help students identify, name, describe, and draw the key parts through active learning experiences.

Maria Montessori Approach
In teaching preschooler in the field we use the Maria Montessori Approach which
encourage the individualized education, encourage children to explore materials freely, the way
to teach the child is not to have a child try something over and over but prepare them by
teaching the movements and actions necessary to perform them.
Montessori classroom give emphasis on cultivating a warm and comfortable
environment and independent and active which we are nowadays.
1. How do we teach Science in kindergarten learners?
We teach science in kindergarten through their experience, discovery of their own mind
before introducing a certain topic. Identification of some examples of the subject matter is easy
for us teachers to handle kindergarten.
How important Music in teaching Science?
For me, teaching music is important in teaching Science because if we introduce the
subject or the topic in a class teaching Science through Music children can easily understand
and memorize the topic by singing.
Example: introduce shapes, animals and etc.

Question:
What are the parts of the body described in the song?
Where is your shoulder, head, toes and knees?
b. Development of the Lesson:

Show them different parts of the body. Let them describe it. Let them count
different parts of the body.
IV. Generalization:
Do we can work without hands, toes, and other parts of the body?
Valuing:
How do we take good care of the body?

Match column A to column B. Draw a line to connect the picture to its name.

4. Lesson Plan in Kindergarten
Brain-based Approach
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are able to:
a. Identify the parts of the plant
b. Draw the different parts of the plant
c. Name the parts of a plant
II. Subject Matter

III. Procedure:
a. Review
The teacher will review about the parts of the body.
b. Motivation
The teacher prepare the poem about “A Beautiful Plant”
c. Lesson Proper
The teacher shows the different parts of a plant and their name.
d. Group Activity
The teacher divides the class into 3 groups. Give the name and parts of a plant in
a manila paper.
IV. Generalization
Let them read the names of the different parts of a plant.
