a. Describe the texture of a wide variety of objects.
b. Identify smooth and rough objects.

Smooth and Rough
Reference: Reading Skills Workbook pp. 259
Materials: Picture of smooth and rough objects (tomato, apple, papaya,
mango, watermelon, and paper) pictures of rough objects (jackfruit, durian, pineapple,
sand paper, doormat, sand)
Integration: Numeracy, Language, Values
III. Procedure: A. Preparatory Activities:
1. Checking of assignments
2. Review: hard and soft
3. Motivation: The teacher asks the child what are the use of their
hands. Show some pictures of fruits, vegetables and objects.
B. Lesson Proper:
Presentation:
The teacher show some objects and ask the child to touch
the objects. Identify what they feel. Discuss what is smooth and rough.
1. Activity:
Direction: Put check ( ) if the objects is smooth.
Put cross (X) if the objects is rough.
2. Analysis:
How to identify that the object is rough or smooth?
3. Abstraction:
How to describe the texture of objects?
4. Application:
Paste different picture on the board, ask the child to classify the
picture from smooth to rough.
IV. Evaluation:
Ring ( ) the things that are smooth
Box ( ) the objects is rough
V. Assignment:
Draw pictures at least 3 rough objects and 3 smooth objects and
color it.
