The Importance of Water in Oman Economy
1.Introduction, importance of water to Oman economy.
Oman is located in the arid belt and an average rainfall of about 100 millimeters per year and the

Forbidden Analyse
Todrick Halls Forbidden was released just less than a month ago, yet it has provided comfort and
changed the mindset of thousands of people already. What is so different about this visual album? Hall
produces his hour and a half long film based on a backwards society including role reversals in both
sexuality and race allowing comfort for those who relate and a new perspective for those who don t.
The first song Wanted shows the arrest of Hall, the Most Wanted Man , as said in the newspaper. He is
being arrested for some significant crime, that at the moment, is unknown to us. It does an excellent
job of drawing the viewer in in order to find out what the crimeful act was. This leads into the second
song Changed My Mind that now shows him in the jail cell contributing to the mystery of what he
must of done to end up there.
All American is one of the next songs that really stands out. It speaks of the Nacirema , american
backwards, way of living. This being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this society being heterosexual is unexceptable. The song Forbidden shows a group of couples who
escaped society saying that their love will not be forbidden . This leads into Painting In The Rain , one
of the most impactful song and video on the album. When Hall gets arrested for being straight, people
riot in front of his house holding signs that say things like God hates straights and vandalizing
property writing hetero on the front door. In attempt to rid of the words on the house, Halls lover,
frantically paints over the words, but it is no use since the rain is just washing it away. This is a
metaphor in itself showing that whatever the minority try to change people s mind the majority just
ends up washing their statements away. To see all of society treating the couple that way opens up
those who are close minded, showing them that love is love and you shouldn t be punished or looked

Anna Wintour Research Paper
Anna Wintour is an influential and a powerful leader. She has a new nickname as Nuclear Wintour

Opportunities At Amazon
Opportunities are meant to take advantage of once being noticed. Like how Amazon took notice of its
data in the early 2000 s, it needs to take notice of other opportunities that are laid before them. The
opportunities that they should continue to focus would be growth prospects e commerce and strategic
acquisitions. Growth prospects e commerce E commerce has continued to be a business trend and it
continued to grow in 2015. According to the data the Stefany Zaroban got from the U.S. Commerce
Department, the web sales in 2015 totaled $341.7 billion for the year, a 14.6% increase over 2014 s
$298.3 billion (Zaroban, 2016). This reveals that Amazon would continue to have the chance to
increase their sales as well as an increase to bringing in more customers. According to the data that
GlobalData received, U.S. had around 300 million internet users in the year 2014 which was an
increase of 7% over the previous years (GlobalData). These statistics show that with the increase of
online shoppers every year and the definite advance in technology in the future, more people will shop
online than to go to retail stores. Strategic Acquisitions According to Amazon s history and timeline,
they were able to add features to Amazon every year. Like in 2014 of December, they were able to add
a one hour delivery for prime members, add in HBO GO on Amazon Fire TV, Ultra HD Movies and
TV Shows on Amazon Instant Video, included in a Make an Offer for customers, and much more

Decriminalization Of Prostitution Essay
There are about 13,828,700 prostitutes in the world; 3 million in China, 2 million in India and 1
million in the United States. Each year in New York City there is 4,200 prostitution arrest, and 5
officers will need to conduct a prostitution sting (a sting operation is an undercover operation designed
to catch a person committing a crime or in this case a prostitute). Yet, what even is prostitution? Do
we as a people gather the full concept and the reasoning behind why these men and women subject
themselves to intercourse for money? The definition of prostitution is an occupation of engaging in
sexual activity with someone for payment. Though prostitution is defined as an occupation it is still
criminalized by today s society and government. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While I agree that child prostitution is a significant global problem, both in developed and
undeveloped countries, I must argue the involvement of sex workers. A primary reason why we have a
child prostitution increase is due to the criminalization of adult prostitution. When a sexually
ambitious person cannot find an adult sex worker, they would turn to pimps, who mostly use underage
sex workers, to satisfy their sexual urges. By keeping sex work illegal, victims of sex trafficking are
less likely to go to the police out of fear of being arrested, also, sex trafficking victims are often
treated like criminals. Sadly, 100,000 children are forced into prostitution every year in America. But
at the same time, there is evidence to support that legalizing prostitution reduces sex trafficking. In
2001, Germany legalized sex work. Over the course of the next 10 years, instances of sex based
human trafficking decreased by 10 percent within the country. Working with instead of against sex
workers will lead to more slaves being rescued. In Germany, it already is. While prohibitionists claim
that legalizing prostitution has increased human trafficking in the country, the data doesn t support
them. Proclaimed by Cathy Reisenwitz of the Daily

Springfield Descriptive Paragraph
As I stepped out of the car, the smell of the hot asphalt hit me. I heard the low rumble of voices and
the high pitched screaming of babies. Mothers were hustling their children toward the stadium. Little
boys with their favorite team plastered on their shirts ran past me, eager to enter the ballpark. Nearing
the ticket booth, the smell of popcorn wafted through the gates. This was the ultimate way to spend a
summer night, at a baseball game.
After paying our way to get in, my dad and I found our seats. It was my birthday and my father had a
special treat in store. He had gotten us front row seats, a very rare occasion for me. Son! Let s go, the
game is about to start, said my father. We excitedly rushed down to take our seats. The players were

Both teams desperately needed those few points to claim victory. We re only looking at one more
home run to advance to the playoffs, said my dad excitedly. The stadium became unusually quiet when
our batter stepped up to the plate. The visiting team s catcher signaled the pitcher. In slow motion, I
saw the pitcher throw a fastball and a few seconds that seemed like minutes went by, and I heard a
crack. The loudest, wood shattering crack of the game. I looked up and the ball was on it s way over
the fence into the crowd towards me. I raised my glove up with a small hope of catching it. Come on
son, you got this. This one s yours! yelled my dad. A second later I felt something smack my glove. I
was in utter disbelief, and everyone cheered around me. This night had gotten so much better than it
already was. The game was over, we had won. Fireworks erupted above the stadium and lit up the
night sky like it was daytime. We did it son, we did it! We re going to the playoffs! yelled my dad

Achievement Goals As A Measure Of Motivation
The article Achievement Goals as a Measure of Motivation in University Students talked about the
difference in performance goals and mastery goals in students currently enrolled in universities. The
article described a performance goal is one that is associated to a specific outcome; For example,
passing your first chemistry exam. Performance goals are more common with short term goals solely
because the majority of the time they aren t something you can do continuously. On the other hand, a
mastery goal is described as one that you set in order to show you your comprehension of a certain
topic or task; for instance, instead of passing your chemistry exam, you want to fully understand
chemistry and become a master.
Throughout high school, I was the kind of student that always did the bare minimum but knew that I
could do better. I never did my homework, and I the only test I have ever studied for was my SAT
because I knew that was my only option to get into this university. After reading this article, I realized
that all I was doing was setting an academic alienation goal which meant I was choosing to perform
tasks that required the minimum amount of effort, which is turn was just setting my up to fail, and
even though it wasn t really saying that I wanted to fail, that s what I was doing.
Once I was accepted to Texas A M, I realized that this kind of mentality was no longer going to work
for me. I knew that if I wanted to succeed in college, I was going to have to

Compare David And Goliath
One of the most distinctive images from Caravaggio s post Roman work is his tragically famous
rendering of David with the Head of Goliath (Fig. 10). Compared with the jubilance David is
expressed as having in the original Bible verse (I Samuel 17:20 58) the image of David in Caravaggio
s interpretation is much more solemn, pensive and brooding. The young David gazes at the
decapitated head of Goliath not in pride, but almost in pain. The furrowed brow of the young boy
suggests some sort of discomfort, which leads analysts to consider the painter s mental state at the
time. The story of David and Goliath is known to be about humility defeating pride, something
Caravaggio could be desperate to prove in this year of his life. The artist was still ... Show more

The presentation drew the attention of countless art critics who were now interested in investigating
the final tragic years of a once great artist. While relatively small, with only sixteen paintings out of
the suggested twenty one that Caravaggio completed after fleeing Rome (twenty two if you count the
Nativity, which was stolen thirty five years ago in Palermo) the exhibit is still awe inspiring and
emphasizes not only the talent of Caravaggio, but also the speed with which he was able to work.
Richard Spear echoes this accomplishment in his article Late Caravaggio: Naples and London, noting,
nearly half of the twenty two paintings are big, multi figured canvases. Even granting that Caravaggio
painted quickly during his last phase, this is an impressive output over four years from an artist who
had to resettle six times in five different cities and spent a month in prison . The speed at which he
created these works, however, was not at the price of their extravagance. David Packwood, author of A
Brush with Death applauds Caravaggio for these later pieces, saying, it is astounding that he produced
such a body of original and innovative work during a period when he seems to have been fearful for
his life . As examined above, the fear that Caravaggio was feeling was no doubt channeled into many
of these exceptional works, especially in those in which his

Artificial Intellegence and Home Automation
Artificial Intelligence and Home Automation Abstract Artificial Intelligence, AI, is slowly making its
way into society; the next big step would be to integrate AI systems into homes. AI would be a huge
help to people of all age groups allowing for security and help in completing the everyday tasks that
keep the house in order. A master system that controls climate, security, appliances, and domestic
robots was implemented to help make families lives easier. We concluded that AI systems are ready to
take the next step to home automation and would greatly benefit from mass production of these
systems. Introduction Artificial Intelligence has made large strides in past years; the next step would
be integrating AI systems into office ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suddenly society has a workforce of robots and humans are out of jobs because robots are cheaper and
more reliable. AI is supposed to learn to act at or above Human performance levels (7). This definition
in itself scares people knowing that the purpose of these machines is to be as smart as and eventually
smarter than Humans. AI systems could help people live their lives by completing mundane tasks and
help automate tasks. Imagine a house that can wake people up, start coffee, start the dishwasher, drier
and wash machines, and clean the house by just hitting a few keys on a keypad. Many people would
choose this option over a house that cannot. By making peoples lives easier, it allows them to spend
less time doing mundane chores, and more time spending time with loved ones. An example of a
similar system would be the system developed by the University of Grenada to help senior citizens
remember to take their medication of take their keys when leaving the house (9). Figure 1 AI has come
a long way and Home and Office Automation is the next big integration step. Robots such as Honda s
ASIMO, Toyota s Partner Robot, and Mitsubishi s Wakamaru are all examples of domestic robots that
can help around homes or offices. Figure 1 shows Honda s ASIMO robot bringing its owner coffee.
Joined together with a home automation system these robots can make peoples lives easier by having

Batek Gender Differences Essay
One of the biggest fieldwork observations made by the Endicotts is the gender differences between
males and females in the Batek community, or lack thereof. Batek people choose to live in a
noncompetitive gender egalitarian community, which acknowledges the gender differences between
males and females, but does not believe the differences give either sex superiority over its
complimentary counterpart(25). This equality is something that makes gender a topic that the Batek
rarely address and is seen as almost irrelevant. In fact, until Batek children begin to show the first
signs of puberty, boys and girls are only called children rather than little boys or girls. It is not until
these sign begin to develop that they make the distinction between young men and ... Show more

In addition, the Batek believe that the only difference between men and women is their physical
appearance and ability, but that they essentially share the same internal composition. Externally, aside
from reproductive anatomy, the Batek say that men are the ones with stronger breath, as in having a
higher lung capacity. This makes them better equipped for blowpipe hunting and allows them to hunt
larger game in the forest. Moreover, men are said to have more upper body strength than the women,
which they use to climb taller trees and chop down large trees. However, although the men have a
higher physical ability than the women when it comes to blowpipe hunting, the women also blowpipe
hunt for smaller prey, climb smaller trees and vines, and cut down small trees(29). Internally, the
Batek believe that the only significant difference between the men and women was the smell of their
blood. They believe that a woman s blood had a different smell from man because of the diet the
women held to while on their menstrual

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM
Abstract:
The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A
verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular
methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench increases
robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable
testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to
easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for
Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus
architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors and peripherals together into a
SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and
also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon
MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components.
In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on
mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression to create
different scenarios.

Similarities Between Bend It Like Beckham And Slumdog...
Bend it Like Beckham and Slumdog Millionaire have given me very strong impressions of Indian
people and culture.
Bend it Like Beckham showed me a lot about modern Indian culture, specifically Indians living in
England. In this film, Jess s Sikh family is very religious. Jess s sister; Pinky s wedding was a great
example of modern India. You can see the celebrations, the food and the clothing. You can always see
the family talking to the painting of Guru Nanak/Babaji and their traditional Indian greetings. Their
one goal in life is to have their daughters prepared and ready for marriage. They have expectations to

Exploitation of women and children is also shown in this film. Once again, it is something I knew was
there but I didn t realise how bad and how much of it there really is. The blinding scene was definitely
one that stayed in my mind. The fact that somebody would purposely take away somebody s vital
senses, and blind somebody, much less a child, for their own benefit, shocked me to the core. What s
even more scary for me is this is based on what actually happens in India. Turning children into
beggars, making women into prostitutes is a normal regular thing. This shocks me so much because of
my values. To me, children and women deserve to live a normal happy life. For children, they deserve
a happy, loving childhood and to have a great future. I think because I was raised in these
circumstances that I find it difficult to imagine any other child to not have the same benefits. For
women, they should have the same opportunities and lifestyle choices as men. Not to be turned into

The Fight for Bilingual Education and Women’s Rights in...
The Civil Rights movement, during the 1960s and 1970s, created many changes for both American
society and its schools. The transformations were the result of such movements as Bilingual
Education, women s rights activity, and the passing of the Public Law 94 142 legislation. The
incorporation of these new laws and ideas into society all came with their own consequences. Each of
them helped, in some way, to lessen the inequality of minority groups in America, like students whose
primary language was not English, women, and handicapped children. They also faced opposition by
certain groups, who did not feel that their inclusion in American life was necessary. Those fighting for
the minorities, though, were steadfast in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third approach, bilingual education, suggested teaching the student s native language and English
equally.
According to Urban and Wagoner in American Education: A History, advocates of this last approach
sometimes emphasized biculturalism as well and bilingualism (ibid.).
These attempts were both supported and opposed by various parties.
Those who defended incorporation of bilingual education into American schools included politicians
and other Hispanic leaders, who were trying to prevent assimilation. Opposers included teachers,
Anglo politicians, and some
Hispanic intellectuals , who thought that it was important for the children to assimilate in to the
society (ibid.).
Women s rights activity also became popular in the 1960s, but did not have many large effects on the
schools. Teachers did not want to be involved with the feminists, and so the activists also distanced
themselves from the teachers. The hard work and determination of the feminists did though, bring
about the passing of the Title IX of the Higher Education Act in 1972 (ibid., 320).
This act instilled gender equality in institutions of higher education, and has played a monumental role
in regulating fairness among the sexes in colleges and universities. The Title IX

India s Partition After Independence

Question: Examine the process of state creation in India through the lens of the short story Toba Tek
Singh written by Saadat Hasan Manto
Toba Tek Singh, a story about India s partition after independence written by Saadat Hasan Manto,
gives the readers an insight into the harsh realities of the process of state creation. Through the non
judgmental and sardonic tone of the narrative, Toba Tek Singh compels the reader to think deeper
about India s birth as a nation. India s partition into two different countries purely on the basis of
religion (Manto, 2011, p. 70) gives us a reality check into how willing we are to accommodate
diversity. Toba Tek Singh urges the readers to ponder over the fact that state creation is an issue
beyond the mere geographical demarcation of borders, because it does not account for the
unquantifiable sentiments that the process affects, as well as propagates.
State creation involves political ideas and the struggle for power taking precedence, with little or no
regard for the opinion of citizens. This means that the state is not being conceived as the sum total of
its people and their interests, but a framework within which power can be exercised. This is evident in
the very first line of the story which says that India and Pakistan had decided to exchange their
lunatics, in the very same way in which they had exchanged their criminals (Manto, 2011, p.70). It
seems like people are being

and ensure that the minimum pay is compliant with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the
Equal Pay Act (EPA).
Pay rates must be compliant with the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007, as well as the overreaching
rules of the FLSA, where the current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. To maintain compliance,
Plastec must demonstrate that the combined base salary and average variable salary amounts equal the
minimum wage (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine, p371). Additionally, the company must be cognizant of
the factors determining over time compensation and properly classify employees under FLSA. Plastec
might want to offer a base salary plus commission; however, this type of variable salary is not
available for many employees due to FLSA standards for determining exempt or non exempt status. In
a situation like Plastec s where they are working with hourly wage employees who are non exempt,
they will have to determine a fair hourly rate and pay overtime for employees in addition to any

Gasoline Engines As A Diesel Engines
Introduction There are many advantages and disadvantages to gasoline engines as well as diesel
engines in both light trucks and cars. The goal of this report is to inform the public on the many pros
and cons of the vehicle buying world. This report will discuss the three main topics of discussion
when choosing between a gasoline and a diesel engine in a vehicle. The people of the United States
purchased 1,507,339 vehicles in the year 2014 alone. Now, 829,185 of those vehicles were considered
light trucks and the remaining 678,154 vehicles were cars. A large portion of these vehicles are power
by a diesel motor as compared to a gas or hybrid motors in the other vehicles. Traditionally diesel
engines are thought of as being used for large tractor trailer trucks, heavy duty equipment, and other
large commercial vehicles. However, in recent years there has been a shift from the industrial world
only to a more balanced market of diesel vehicles for everyday use. The three main criteria on which
vehicles are judged are as follows. First, in today s day and age what is looked at is the efficiency,
Fuel Efficiency. Secondly, is the durability and dependability of the vehicle, will this car or truck last,
can this vehicle drive across country and not worry about it dying? Lastly, the report will talk about
the affordability of the vehicle, is it better to pay less initially, will paying more initially be a better
investment for the long run?

Southernisation And Southernization
When studying history, one may generally focus on European culture and its effects on the rest of the
world. Southernization is the development of Southern Asian cultures and how they truly affected
most cultures on the Eurasian and American continents. Southernization, though quite unheard of by
most people, is very important to modern day Europe and the effects of westernization. Though
southernization incorporates all of South Asia, it focuses more on the impact India had on China and
other regions. Without southernization, westernization would not have developed, logistically by
exchange of mathematics and philosophy, technologically through advancements in maritime trade,
and economically specifically the trade of produce like sugarcane.
Although the west did have its own cultivation of knowledge, the majority of westernized thinking
originated in India and other Southern Asian countries. The people of India invented Hindi numerals.
Arabs gave these numerals the title, Hindi numbers . These numerals included the concept of zero and
allowed mathematicians to make fast, accurate calculations. Once Arabs had begun using the Indians
numerals and concept of zero, Europeans were then introduced to these concepts and called them Arab
numerals . Chinese used Indian mathematical concepts but advanced the ideas which allowed them to
expand in that field of knowledge. The methods that the Chinese used based off of the ideas of
Indians, shows how methods were spread. Since the

Argumentative Essay On Virtual Reality
Technology: a broad term that can define anything that aids human s ability to complete tasks or
increase an individual s quality of life. While technology is commonly thought of in a digital sense, it
can be much more than that. All technology, however, has a potential to impact society in some way,
whether significant or minuscule. It can affect many different tracts of our cultures around the world
such as medicine, government, agriculture, science, business, and education. Education could be the
most powerful, however, because of the weight it holds to mold the future generations and how they
will impact all other areas of our economy.
Virtual reality(VR) is a relatively new frontier in the technology industry. So new in fact, that, at its
current stage, what it is and its potentials are unfamiliar to the general public. VR originally started
gaining momentum as a new platform to game on, but its potential must be analyzed broadly in more
than just one vocation. Because of the immersion VR provides, it has an immense capacity to benefit
the educational field. Everyone is unique in the way they learn best; some people learn best by
reading, some people learn audibly better, and, some people learn visually. This paper will analyze
virtual reality to explain what VR is and any drawbacks it may have, how and how much it is being
used in education currently, how it is benefiting disabled learners, who are able to have access to it,
and what a future with VR may look like.

Money can be defined as any thing that is generally acceptable as a medium of exchange. It can also
be defined as a third commodity that is introduced between two other commodities to facilitate
exchange. Money can therefore be looked at as an instrument that helps in fulfillment of contracts,
discharge of debts and as a standard of deferred payment. Due to the obligation of people to accept
money in the discharge of debts, money is often referred to as legal tender.
The demand for money can be defined as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore the equation of exchange becomes
Md = PT
Where Md is the demand for money in the economy
This transactions demand for money is in turn determined by the level of full employment income this
is because the classical economists believe in Say s law that supply creates its own demand assuming
a full level of employment of income in the economy thus the demand for money in fisher s approach
is a constant proportion of the level of transactions which in turn bears a constant proportion in the
level of national income. Further, the demand for money is linked to the volume of trade going on in
the economy at a given time.
Criticisms of the classical theory
Its underlying assumption is that people only hold money to buy goods and services. People also hold
money to for other reasons, such as to earn interest, and to provide against the unforeseen
circumstances like sickness. It is therefore not possible to say that V will remain constant when M is
changed.
The most important thing about money in the quantity theory of money is that money is transferable
but it does not expeditiously explain why people demand or hold money.
The theory also fails to explain what makes up money. It does not clarify whether to include items like
time deposits, or savings deposits that are not immediately available to pay debts as money without
first converting them into cash.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Common Core
Common Core State Standards have been a hot topic for a few years. While both sides of the argument
make valid points, often people lose sight of the greatest importance in the debate. The students. The
children s best interests need to be on the forefront of either side. Nearly all can agree that in
education a national set of standards is necessary for this country. This is not the first time in history
that America s educational principles have been up for debate. The basic idea of common core is to
prepare students for responsibility as a citizen in this society. Students must be able to read and distill
complex sentences and must be equipped with basic mathematical skills. The actual impact the
standards will have on education will not be revealed for several years, however it is thought that
implementing a national set of standards will nothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Higher education has a history of complaining that students are not ready for college level courses and
remediation classes have been necessary. Implementing common core could eliminate those classes
while teaching students how to think and problem solve before leaving high school. An additional
issue against common core is the financial burdens that could be put on schools and districts as a
result of implementation. From purchasing newly aligned textbooks and materials, to updating

Henry Turner Superego
Freud believes there is three parts of a person s personality, the Id, Ego and Superego. The Id is the
portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that controls a
person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality principle , meaning this
is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you can t have something based on
the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based on moral principle , meaning that
you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly
normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted some cigarettes and when he went to purchase
them something unexpected happened. A man was trying to rob him, but Henry wouldn t give up his
money and tried running away and got shot twice. He was able to live through, but when he came
back, he wasn t able to be himself, he couldn t walk, talk or remember anything about him or his life.

Examples Of False Confessions
A false confession is when an innocent person is forced to admit to a crime they did not commit. False
confessions were responsible for nearly a quarter of convictions reversed by DNA evidence. People
are forced into false confessions by authorities, like police interrogators, who trick them into believing
that it would be more beneficial if they confessed, regardless of their innocence.
A major factor in false confessions is stress, those who are innocent actually feel less stress during an
interrogation and they may drop their guard and not think about their words carefully. Many people
place their trust in the justice system, thinking they cannot be convicted because they are innocent.
Police interrogators are allowed to use tactics like minimization where they downplay the severity of
the crime in order to get their suspect to believe it is ok or even beneficial to confess. Other legal
deceptions include lying about evidence, and interrogating for hours on end to wear people down to
the point of needing to confess just to leave. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

him of the attack, in fact Martin s father was in a coma until he died a month later. These lies caused a
condition called memory distrust syndrome,

Alcohol use is also higher among men and women in military service than among civilians. Almost
half of active duty service members (47 percent) reported binge drinking in 2008 up from 35 percent
in 1998. In 2008, 20 percent of military personnel reported binge drinking every week in the past
month; the rate was considerably higher 27 percent among those with high combat exposure.
Regarding medical expenditures, studies have found that excessive alcohol use by military members
results in an annual cost of $425 million. Excessive drinking within the military is estimated to result
in a loss of 320,000 work days and 34,400 arrests per year, half of which are for driving under the
influence (Ames, G., and Cunradi, C. Alcohol use and preventing alcohol related problems among
young adults in the military. Alcohol Research Health 28:252 257, 2004). Service members may carry
the psychological and physical wounds of their military experience with them into subsequent civilian

mental or cognitive disorder; one in six reported symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
These disorders are strongly associated with substance abuse

Beach Room Analysis
When designing a coastal inspired bedroom for a client, I typically begin with a palette of both color
and texture that is truly reflective of the coastal feel and the client. Here in Southern California, the
coastal areas are rich and varied, with colors like blue, green, creme, grey and even yellow and
orange, as well as textures like sand, sea grass, reeds and driftwood. Coastal interiors are hands down
my favorite interiors to design as there is such a wide variety of elements, colors and textures
available to re imagine and infuse into the home and I do prefer to use the power of suggestion when
designing a coastal home, rather than a literal or kitschy interpretation.

Any room that is lighter is also generally perceived as being more open, spacious and, generally,
happy! If considering use of some of the darker coastal colors, like grey or green, keep them as accent
colors or use in just one area to reduce the impact on the light, flowing feeling typical in a coastal
inspired room.
When considering wall color, use a tone of soft white or a light tone of an actual color. White will help
move light around the room, whether it s from a natural source like a window, or from a light fixture.
A light tone of a color will provide a similar effect. If you want to make the room darker, this can
always be accomplished through drapery, however I have found it best to have the option to go from
light to dark through the simple pull on a drapery panel.
Using stripes is another way to keep the eye moving and infuse a space with a familiar coastal design
element. Using stripes on the walls or drapery will help make any space look larger by drawing the
eye up and into the space, also contributing to the open, spacious feeling.
Keeping these tips in mind will not only help you begin designing a coastal inspired bedroom, it will
help you create a retreat you can enjoy for many years to

time went by, the mutual beneficial interaction changed to one sided trade; it only benefited the
several societies with wealth and power, but destroyed the other groups of society. But later in 1800s,
the slave trade was abolished (Gordon 2003). According to Graham, in 1884 British colonized Nigeria

Differences Between Grounded Theory And Narrative Analysis
Grounded theory Is a qualitative approach which calls for simultaneous data collection and analysis to
generate a theory during the research process. A theory emerges inductively through the systematic
data collection and analysis pertaining to a given phenomenon (Strauss Corbin, 1990). This has two
fundamental characteristics which include: theoretical sampling and constant comparative analysis. A
grounded theory is generated by themes which emerge from the data during analysis, capturing the
essence of meaning drawn from varied contexts and situations
Theoretical sampling, this involves data collection for comparative analysis (Glaser Strauss 1967).
The collected data then gives insights and the analysis leads to further data collection and analysis.

The similarities between Grounded theory and Narrative analysis include the following,
Both approaches are based on naturalistic inquiry. They focus on how people behave in natural
settings while engaging in real life experiences. Both maintain inquiry stems from the naturalistic
paradigm that places itself opposite positivist paradigm.
Both approaches support flexibility in using multiple sources of data. This allows checking the
reliability and validation of a given phenomenon under investigation through triangulation. For
example use of interviews, document review and observation.
Both methods seek themes through coding process. The main of these two approaches is to capture
themes and subthemes which emerge in the process of data collection. All these are backed by direct
quotes from the participants in the study.
In both methods, texts to be coded into themes or categories follow qualitative analysis

The Ancient Inventions Of The Future
The Ancient inventions of the future Socrates was one of the greatest philosophers of the ancient
world. His teachings inspired young philosophers to go and explore the world. In addition, His
Knowledge even influenced boundless minds like Plato, who help make gigantic pushes in geometry.
Or Aristotle, who mad giant leaps in astronomy (also made a theory that the earth was round in about
384 B. C.). therefore, a new era of philosophy was inaugurated and the course of western civilization
was decisively shaped. Modern mathematics, Medicine, and cartography was all modernized during
this age of philosophy. Without the Greeks, present ideals and the way we live our life would not be
the same. So it is important that we know what the Greeks invented and their power over our
civilization.
First of all, the use the same form of democracy that we use in America. They decided that a dictator
would have too much control and power. So they got a cabinet of over 500 people for democratic
voting. They voted on taxes all the way up to executions. It worked a lot like our jury system, with
people randomly chosen to serve. As it was said by Scott J. Cooper; Demokratia, Greek for power of
the people, was born in Athens in the 7th century BC. As the city state s oligarchy exploited citizens
and created economic, political and social problems, Athenians were inspired by the successful, semi
democratic model Sparta had adopted. They turned to lawmaker Solon, who tried to help the

Family Relationships In The Castle, Good Will Hunting And...
Family relationships are an important part of humanity. Many children grow up with or without a
family thus resulting the way they behave. Having a good relationship with your family is the key to a
healthy living. We need to trust one another and learn to gain respect for a happy future. This is an
important part of the process to a healthy relationship because it plays a crucial role in instilling values
and teaching responsibilities. For example if there are parents who fought a lot, the child would be
insecure towards other people. Another, point is that it helps solve misunderstandings in the family,
thus creating a stable unity.
Back to text, family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that I have read/watched:
Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has influenced a
number of authors and directors to direct to create films that relate to a certain topic of family. This is
because it focuses on the family itself, which can have an impact on the audience who may be
experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I have studied:
Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not Without my Daughter. These texts were
influenced by family problems and secrets within our daily lives.
In the film, The Castle we are able to see what a good family relationship is. Daryl Kerrigan is trying

The opportunities that they should continue to focus would be growth prospects e commerce and strategic acquisitions. Growth prospects e commerce E commerce has continued to be a business trend and it continued to grow in 2015. According to the data the Stefany Zaroban got from the U.S. Commerce Department, the web sales in 2015 totaled $341.7 billion for the year, a 14.6% increase over 2014 s $298.3 billion (Zaroban, 2016). This reveals that Amazon would continue to have the chance to increase their sales as well as an increase to bringing in more customers. According to the data that GlobalData received, U.S. had around 300 million internet users in the year 2014 which was an increase of 7% over the previous years (GlobalData). These statistics show that with the increase of online shoppers every year and the definite advance in technology in the future, more people will shop online than to go to retail stores. Strategic Acquisitions According to Amazon s history and timeline, they were able to add features to Amazon every year. Like in 2014 of December, they were able to add a one hour delivery for prime members, add in HBO GO on Amazon Fire TV, Ultra HD Movies and TV Shows on Amazon Instant Video, included in a Make an Offer for customers, and much more throughout ... • 6. Decriminalization Of Prostitution Essay There are about 13,828,700 prostitutes in the world; 3 million in China, 2 million in India and 1 million in the United States. Each year in New York City there is 4,200 prostitution arrest, and 5 officers will need to conduct a prostitution sting (a sting operation is an undercover operation designed to catch a person committing a crime or in this case a prostitute). Yet, what even is prostitution? Do we as a people gather the full concept and the reasoning behind why these men and women subject themselves to intercourse for money? The definition of prostitution is an occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. Though prostitution is defined as an occupation it is still criminalized by today s society and government. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While I agree that child prostitution is a significant global problem, both in developed and undeveloped countries, I must argue the involvement of sex workers. A primary reason why we have a child prostitution increase is due to the criminalization of adult prostitution. When a sexually ambitious person cannot find an adult sex worker, they would turn to pimps, who mostly use underage sex workers, to satisfy their sexual urges. By keeping sex work illegal, victims of sex trafficking are less likely to go to the police out of fear of being arrested, also, sex trafficking victims are often treated like criminals. Sadly, 100,000 children are forced into prostitution every year in America. But at the same time, there is evidence to support that legalizing prostitution reduces sex trafficking. In 2001, Germany legalized sex work. Over the course of the next 10 years, instances of sex based human trafficking decreased by 10 percent within the country. Working with instead of against sex workers will lead to more slaves being rescued. In Germany, it already is. While prohibitionists claim that legalizing prostitution has increased human trafficking in the country, the data doesn t support them. Proclaimed by Cathy Reisenwitz of the Daily ... Mothers were hustling their children toward the stadium. Little boys with their favorite team plastered on their shirts ran past me, eager to enter the ballpark. Nearing the ticket booth, the smell of popcorn wafted through the gates. This was the ultimate way to spend a summer night, at a baseball game. After paying our way to get in, my dad and I found our seats. It was my birthday and my father had a special treat in store. He had gotten us front row seats, a very rare occasion for me. Son! A second later I felt something smack my glove. I was in utter disbelief, and everyone cheered around me. This night had gotten so much better than it already was. The game was over, we had won. Achievement Goals As A Measure Of Motivation The article Achievement Goals as a Measure of Motivation in University Students talked about the difference in performance goals and mastery goals in students currently enrolled in universities. The article described a performance goal is one that is associated to a specific outcome; For example, passing your first chemistry exam. Performance goals are more common with short term goals solely because the majority of the time they aren t something you can do continuously. On the other hand, a mastery goal is described as one that you set in order to show you your comprehension of a certain topic or task; for instance, instead of passing your chemistry exam, you want to fully understand chemistry and become a master. Throughout high school, I was the kind of student that always did the bare minimum but knew that I could do better. I never did my homework, and I the only test I have ever studied for was my SAT because I knew that was my only option to get into this university. After reading this article, I realized that all I was doing was setting an academic alienation goal which meant I was choosing to perform tasks that required the minimum amount of effort, which is turn was just setting my up to fail, and even though it wasn t really saying that I wanted to fail, that s what I was doing. Once I was accepted to Texas A M, I realized that this kind of mentality was no longer going to work for me. I knew that if I wanted to succeed in college, I was going to have to ... • 9. Compare David And Goliath One of the most distinctive images from Caravaggio s post Roman work is his tragically famous rendering of David with the Head of Goliath (Fig. 10). Compared with the jubilance David is expressed as having in the original Bible verse (I Samuel 17:20 58) the image of David in Caravaggio s interpretation is much more solemn, pensive and brooding. The young David gazes at the decapitated head of Goliath not in pride, but almost in pain. The furrowed brow of the young boy suggests some sort of discomfort, which leads analysts to consider the painter s mental state at the time. The story of David and Goliath is known to be about humility defeating pride, something Caravaggio could be desperate to prove in this year of his life. The artist was still ... While relatively small, with only sixteen paintings out of the suggested twenty one that Caravaggio completed after fleeing Rome (twenty two if you count the Nativity, which was stolen thirty five years ago in Palermo) the exhibit is still awe inspiring and emphasizes not only the talent of Caravaggio, but also the speed with which he was able to work. Richard Spear echoes this accomplishment in his article Late Caravaggio: Naples and London, noting, nearly half of the twenty two paintings are big, multi figured canvases. Even granting that Caravaggio painted quickly during his last phase, this is an impressive output over four years from an artist who had to resettle six times in five different cities and spent a month in prison . The speed at which he created these works, however, was not at the price of their extravagance. David Packwood, author of A Brush with Death applauds Caravaggio for these later pieces, saying, it is astounding that he produced such a body of original and innovative work during a period when he seems to have been fearful for his life . As examined above, the fear that Caravaggio was feeling was no doubt channeled into many of these exceptional works, especially in those in which his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A master system that controls climate, security, appliances, and domestic robots was implemented to help make families lives easier. Suddenly society has a workforce of robots and humans are out of jobs because robots are cheaper and more reliable. AI is supposed to learn to act at or above Human performance levels (7). This definition in itself scares people knowing that the purpose of these machines is to be as smart as and eventually smarter than Humans. AI systems could help people live their lives by completing mundane tasks and help automate tasks. Imagine a house that can wake people up, start coffee, start the dishwasher, drier and wash machines, and clean the house by just hitting a few keys on a keypad. Many people would choose this option over a house that cannot. By making peoples lives easier, it allows them to spend less time doing mundane chores, and more time spending time with loved ones. An example of a similar system would be the system developed by the University of Grenada to help senior citizens remember to take their medication of take their keys when leaving the house (9). COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM Abstract: The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench increases robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The transformations were the result of such movements as Bilingual Education, women s rights activity, and the passing of the Public Law 94 142 legislation. The incorporation of these new laws and ideas into society all came with their own consequences. Each of them helped, in some way, to lessen the inequality of minority groups in America, like students whose primary language was not English, women, and handicapped children. According to Urban and Wagoner in American Education: A History, advocates of this last approach sometimes emphasized biculturalism as well and bilingualism (ibid.). Those who defended incorporation of bilingual education into American schools included politicians and other Hispanic leaders, who were trying to prevent assimilation. Opposers included teachers, Anglo politicians, and some Hispanic intellectuals , who thought that it was important for the children to assimilate in to the society (ibid.). Women s rights activity also became popular in the 1960s, but did not have many large effects on the schools. Through the non judgmental and sardonic tone of the narrative, Toba Tek Singh compels the reader to think deeper about India s birth as a nation. India s partition into two different countries purely on the basis of religion (Manto, 2011, p. 70) gives us a reality check into how willing we are to accommodate diversity. Toba Tek Singh urges the readers to ponder over the fact that state creation is an issue beyond the mere geographical demarcation of borders, because it does not account for the unquantifiable sentiments that the process affects, as well as propagates. State creation involves political ideas and the struggle for power taking precedence, with little or no regard for the opinion of citizens. This means that the state is not being conceived as the sum total of its people and their interests, but a framework within which power can be exercised. This is evident in the very first line of the story which says that India and Pakistan had decided to exchange their lunatics, in the very same way in which they had exchanged their criminals (Manto, 2011, p.70). Pay rates must be compliant with the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007, as well as the overreaching rules of the FLSA, where the current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. The goal of this report is to inform the public on the many pros and cons of the vehicle buying world. This report will discuss the three main topics of discussion when choosing between a gasoline and a diesel engine in a vehicle. The people of the United States purchased 1,507,339 vehicles in the year 2014 alone. Now, 829,185 of those vehicles were considered light trucks and the remaining 678,154 vehicles were cars. A large portion of these vehicles are power by a diesel motor as compared to a gas or hybrid motors in the other vehicles. Traditionally diesel engines are thought of as being used for large tractor trailer trucks, heavy duty equipment, and other large commercial vehicles. However, in recent years there has been a shift from the industrial world only to a more balanced market of diesel vehicles for everyday use. The three main criteria on which vehicles are judged are as follows. First, in today s day and age what is looked at is the efficiency, Fuel Efficiency. Secondly, is the durability and dependability of the vehicle, will this car or truck last, can this vehicle drive across country and not worry about it dying? Lastly, the report will talk about the affordability of the vehicle, is it better to pay less initially, will paying more initially be a better investment for the long run? Fuel Efficiency During ... Southernization is the development of Southern Asian cultures and how they truly affected most cultures on the Eurasian and American continents. Southernization, though quite unheard of by most people, is very important to modern day Europe and the effects of westernization. Though southernization incorporates all of South Asia, it focuses more on the impact India had on China and other regions. Without southernization, westernization would not have developed, logistically by exchange of mathematics and philosophy, technologically through advancements in maritime trade, and economically specifically the trade of produce like sugarcane. Although the west did have its own cultivation of knowledge, the majority of westernized thinking originated in India and other Southern Asian countries. The people of India invented Hindi numerals. Arabs gave these numerals the title, Hindi numbers . These numerals included the concept of zero and allowed mathematicians to make fast, accurate calculations. While technology is commonly thought of in a digital sense, it can be much more than that. All technology, however, has a potential to impact society in some way, whether significant or minuscule. It can affect many different tracts of our cultures around the world such as medicine, government, agriculture, science, business, and education. Education could be the most powerful, however, because of the weight it holds to mold the future generations and how they will impact all other areas of our economy. While both sides of the argument make valid points, often people lose sight of the greatest importance in the debate. The students. This is not the first time in history that America s educational principles have been up for debate. The basic idea of common core is to prepare students for responsibility as a citizen in this society. The Id is the portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that controls a person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality principle , meaning this is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you can t have something based on the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based on moral principle , meaning that you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted some cigarettes and when he went to purchase them something unexpected happened. • 33. Examples Of False Confessions A false confession is when an innocent person is forced to admit to a crime they did not commit. False confessions were responsible for nearly a quarter of convictions reversed by DNA evidence. People are forced into false confessions by authorities, like police interrogators, who trick them into believing that it would be more beneficial if they confessed, regardless of their innocence. A major factor in false confessions is stress, those who are innocent actually feel less stress during an interrogation and they may drop their guard and not think about their words carefully. Many people place their trust in the justice system, thinking they cannot be convicted because they are innocent. Police interrogators are allowed to use tactics like minimization where they downplay the severity of the crime in order to get their suspect to believe it is ok or even beneficial to confess. Other legal deceptions include lying about evidence, and interrogating for hours on end to wear people down to the point of needing to confess just to leave. ... When considering wall color, use a tone of soft white or a light tone of an actual color. White will help move light around the room, whether it s from a natural source like a window, or from a light fixture. A light tone of a color will provide a similar effect. If you want to make the room darker, this can always be accomplished through drapery, however I have found it best to have the option to go from light to dark through the simple pull on a drapery panel. Using stripes is another way to keep the eye moving and infuse a space with a familiar coastal design element. Using stripes on the walls or drapery will help make any space look larger by drawing the eye up and into the space, also contributing to the open, spacious feeling. • 38. Differences Between Grounded Theory And Narrative Analysis Grounded theory Is a qualitative approach which calls for simultaneous data collection and analysis to generate a theory during the research process. A theory emerges inductively through the systematic data collection and analysis pertaining to a given phenomenon (Strauss Corbin, 1990). This has two fundamental characteristics which include: theoretical sampling and constant comparative analysis. A grounded theory is generated by themes which emerge from the data during analysis, capturing the essence of meaning drawn from varied contexts and situations Theoretical sampling, this involves data collection for comparative analysis (Glaser Strauss 1967). Modern mathematics, Medicine, and cartography was all modernized during this age of philosophy. Without the Greeks, present ideals and the way we live our life would not be the same. So it is important that we know what the Greeks invented and their power over our civilization. First of all, the use the same form of democracy that we use in America. They decided that a dictator would have too much control and power. So they got a cabinet of over 500 people for democratic voting. They voted on taxes all the way up to executions. It worked a lot like our jury system, with people randomly chosen to serve. As it was said by Scott J. Cooper; Demokratia, Greek for power of the people, was born in Athens in the 7th century BC. Many children grow up with or without a family thus resulting the way they behave. Having a good relationship with your family is the key to a healthy living. We need to trust one another and learn to gain respect for a happy future. This is an important part of the process to a healthy relationship because it plays a crucial role in instilling values and teaching responsibilities. For example if there are parents who fought a lot, the child would be insecure towards other people. Another, point is that it helps solve misunderstandings in the family, thus creating a stable unity. Back to text, family relationships was the main theme in the four texts that I have read/watched: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not without my Daughter. This has influenced a number of authors and directors to direct to create films that relate to a certain topic of family. This is because it focuses on the family itself, which can have an impact on the audience who may be experiencing this kind of problem in the text. This is shown in the four texts that I have studied: Secrets and Lies, The Castle, Good Will Hunting and Not Without my Daughter.
