INTEGRATING NURSING SERVICE AND NURSING
EDUCATION
Integration refers to the linking of all types of knowledge and experiences
contained within the curriculum plan.
In nursing the curriculum that is formulated should have a proper framework of
theory and practice.
The theory which is should help the nurses within this field to analyze, synthesis,
organize the concepts and principles of nursing which acts as guide for excellent
nursing practice.
Nursing education and nursing service are both sides of same coin, so both are
equally important.

Steps involved in integrating nursing service &
nursing education
• The theory which is framed for nursing should be feasible, applicable and
realistic in terms of practice.
• Nurse educators should select appropriate methods for teaching and practice.
• There should be continuity, integration and sequence in whatever subjects taught
to nursing students.
• Nurse educators who teaches the theory of procedures in class room, should
teach the practice of procedures and supervise the nursing students in all different
settings.
• Curriculum framed for nursing should be frequently evaluated for its effective
integration of nursing education and nursing service.

NURSING ADMINISTRATOR
• Nurse administration graduate programs may help registered nurses
(rns) gain the knowledge and experience necessary to pursue
potential career opportunities in leadership, administrative, and
management positions within the healthcare industry. Through part-
time, full-time, or accelerated study, rns complete coursework,
practicum’s, and research to become develop advanced skills in the
field of nursing administration.

• The primary goal of nursing administration programs is to prepare rns to successfully respond to
the increasing demands of a quickly-changing and fast-moving industry.
• In nursing administration degree programs, graduate students learn how to manage the effective
delivery of healthcare services across multiple settings and in numerous capacities.

achieve desired educational outcomes. Curriculum
framework provides faculty with a means of
conceptualizing and organizing the knowledge skills
values and beliefs critical to the delivery of
coherent curriculum that facilitates the achievement
of desired curriculum outcomes.

Four C s of curriculum
• Cooperative:-a programmed prepared jointly by a group of
facility will be liable to error then one prepared by a single
faculty.
• Continues: - the preparation of the programme is not one
shot of operation, provision should be made for it continues
revision to meet the felt needs of present era.
• Comprehensive: - in an approach which accepts the
interaction of all the programme components must be
defined with the requisite precision all area.
• Concrete: - general and abstract consolidation are not a
sufficient basis for drawing up a program, concentrate
professional task must constitute the essential structure of a
relevant programme.

• There are three basic types of curriculum design—
• Subject-centered
• Learner-centered
• Problem-centered

INTEGRATING NURSING SERVICE AND NURSING EDUCATION Integration refers to the linking of all types of knowledge and experiences contained within the curriculum plan. In nursing the curriculum that is formulated should have a proper framework of theory and practice. The theory which is should help the nurses within this field to analyze, synthesis, organize the concepts and principles of nursing which acts as guide for excellent nursing practice. Nursing education and nursing service are both sides of same coin, so both are equally important.
