• In nursing education clinical rotation refers to
"regular, successive & recurrent posting of
various groups of nursing student belonging to
different classes in specific nursing fields i.e.
OPD's, speciality, wards,OT, delievery room,
clinics, community health fields- clinics, out
reach centers, subcenters, health centers,
schools etc.

• Theoritical instructions should precede as
closely as possible with clinical experinece.
• The teacher & student ratio will be 1:4 or as

be planned in advance to provide specific

repeated to each group of student as they
rotate.

correlated to practice.
• Get permission from clinical authority.
• Ensure that each student is aware of the
objectives & assignments & criteria for

• Place & guide the student to get required
