Sociology Arranged Marriage
Is there real love existing in an arranged marriage? Are arranged marriages successful in the long
term? These are some questions that many people think about before entering one. But, what exactly is
an arranged marriage? According to New World Encyclopedia, an arranged marriage is, a marriage
which involves the parents in a process of selecting marriage partners for their children, with or
without the help of a matchmaker. (New World Encyclopedia) (show visual). You don t hear the term
arranged marriage quite often here in North America. Why? Well, mainly because it s rare in this part
of the world. Where it is common though is in the Middle East. They have strong cultural traditions
and values, and do not allow themselves to necessarily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of my sources titled, Confluence of Influence: Indian American Youths Perception, Negotiation,
and Transformation of Arranged Marriage Traditions in Modern American Society, written by Dianne
Laura Fabii, talked about the opinions of second generation Indian American youth on arranged
marriages (show visual). Their parents, grandparents, and past generations all had one, but since they
are growing up in the United States, a western country where individualism and freedom are highly
valued, they decided that the tradition will not apply to their futures (Fabii, 2017). In addition, I came
upon an article which was a real life story rather than a collection of data. It was from National Public
Radio written by Jamie Tarabay, titled, Arranged Marriage: Trapped Between Two Cultures. It focused
on a 25 year old female named Mediha Sandhu (show visual) who is dealing with her parents wanting
her to move to Pakistan to have an arranged marriage, as opposed to her wanting to stay in New
Jersey. The article dives deep into her story and explains her feeling trapped between two completely
different cultures. Sandhu is afraid of losing her freedom and identity, and how she won t be able to
express herself the way she is doing currently, because she is being forced to move back to a country
where women are seen as unimportant and simply useful for being a housewife (Tarabay,

Tet Offensive Advantages
The Tet offensive was an attack of North Vietnamese on the South Vietnamese. The North Vietnamese
took forty one cities including the capital. After that, the United States and South Vietnamese took
back these cities in twenty four days. Although the North Vietnamese was defeated in that offensive, it
considered a victory for them because of the outcome of the offensive on the American government.
There were a political, social, and military outcomes of the Tet offensive. Politically, it ended Lyndon
Johnson s political career. He lost in Democratic candidate campaigning. In the election of 1968, the
Republican Richard Nixon won. One of the important reason for the Democratic losing was the Tet

The Meaning Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali
I remember the painting The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali that I could see in one of my
textbooks back then when I was in Poland taking a history class. I really enjoyed the painting, even
though I did not really know what the meaning of the painting was. Now, I got motivated to write a
research paper about the piece of art, and to answer the question what the meaning of The Persistence
of Memory by Salvador Dali is. The painting was created in 1931. Salvador Dali was a Spanish
surrealist. Surrealism was a movement in the culture that introduced new techniques of creating visual
arts. Surrealism was concentrated on people imagination, dreams, subconscious and unconscious
minds on the nonphysical aspects of a human s body. Surrealists often created their works using dream
imagery. Symbols played an important role in the art of surrealism. Symbols expressed ideas and
emotions that were held by the authors of the visual arts, and they usually had hidden meanings.
Salvador Dali was passionate about the intangible parts of people minds and lives. (Stanley Meisler,
pp.16 17) The main desire of the Salvador Dali s painting titled The Persistence of Memory was to
express the power of people memories with the respect to the passing time. However, the painting The
Persistence of Memory has other significant meanings. Some art scholars strongly emphasize that
there is a correlation between the painting of Salvador Dali and the General Theory of Relativity by

Unlocking the Value of Data
Introduction
In today s business world, it is evident that there is a potentially hidden opportunity in an organization
s rich and diverse customer data. The telecom industry in which our organization operates in, owns a
great deal of customer data that portray customer buying behavior daily. This customer data provides a
source of insight and a new opportunity for generating revenue, which any organization would want to
pursue. To understand how data can transform into revenues, we must first understand why an
organization should monetize their data.

The customer insights packages will focus on two areas: micro data insights and macro data insights
Micro insights: This venture will allow us the opportunity for strategic partnership with other business
establishments such as restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, fashion outlets, cinemas, entertainment
outlets, financial institutions etc. Our partners will place targeted or intended digital advertisements
through mobile devices when customers are near the business location.
Macro insights: As a telecom operator, we have huge insight into customer behavior from subscriber s
mobile phone data usage. This information can then be used by anonymizing and aggregating the data
to see key patterns such as subscriber daily routines, activities, and overall behavior. These insights
can then be segmented into age groups, genders, etc. This can provide major insights for other
business entities to act upon.
Consequently, the value to be derived from these packages offering to our company will include:

making a comeback. The PHO is defined as a legal entity formed by physicians and one or more
hospital with the intention of negotiating contracts with payers and sharing in the financial rewards of
controlling cost while delivering high quality care. (Farlex, 2014). PHO is best described in three
ways:
1. If doctors and hospitals cooperate to provide better care and lower cost, not to force higher fees

Effects Of Social Class On Unethical Behavior
Effect of Social Class on Unethical Behavior
Both social class and ethical behavior are important notions in our society today and have been for
many years. Unethical behavior can be defined as behavior or actions that hurts others and are illegal
or ethically questionable (Piff et al., 2012). CNN recently reported Volkswagen is being charged with
deception regarding emissions of supposedly clean vehicles. They reported that for over ten years
more than eleven million vehicles have been deliberately programmed to fabricate emissions of
damaging pollutants under certified testing conditions (Tellado, 2015). Why are consumers so
concerned and outraged at this fraud? This upsets consumers and others because they care about and
find ethics and morality to be important. Morals and values are important in our society because they
help direct people s lives and motivate people to take part in meaningful relationships. The research
completed for his article examines not just ethical behavior but also the role social class playing in
determining ethical behavior. The relationship between these to notions will examined by observing
behavior at a crosswalk. Social class is defined as a circumstance established by both the material
substance of social life and the individual s understanding of his or her social rank, and is a
fundamental feature of how he or she interacts in the social world (Kraus et al., 2012). Clothing type
was used to operationalize social class in this research,

Speech On Organic Cosmetics
Every time you look into the mirror, you find the natural health of your skin deteriorating from
problems like aging, acne, blackheads, wrinkles, dark circles etc. The reason is not only the
physiological changes in the skin, due to aging, but the harsh chemicals that come in contact with our
skin. Certified organic cosmetics can provide safe, healthy solutions and benefits to one s skin.
Our skin, being the largest organ of the body, is very sensitive, very porous (over 70% seepage into
the body through the bloodstream), and when it comes in contact with harsh, toxic chemicals,
permanent damage can be caused. These chemicals are not always associated with the environment
that we live in or the food we eat but, many times, can be directly connected to the cosmetics that we
use. These cosmetics, used daily, can be really harsh on our skin as they contain many toxic chemicals
that cause permanent damage to the skin s health. Let s be clear. A toxic substance, otherwise known
as a toxicant, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Truly organic cosmetics produce the same colors and also last for the same period of time on your
skin, so there is no reason why these should be considered poor cosmetics. However, once again,
before one purchases these cosmetic products, one should always check the label and find out whether
or not it really contains organic ingredients. Admittedly, some of these listed ingredients one would
need to be a scientist to understand. Do not let this deter you from researching the ingredient.
Remember the Cosmetic Industry will do anything to thwart you from discovering what is actually in
these products. In it is not in their best interest for you to change brands, so do your homework and

Analyze your company s cost classification for pricing of the navigation system. Defend your cost

Considering that our only competitor in the field of navigation systems is VectorCal, it was important
for us to carefully determine pricing that was, not only competitive enough to beat the competition,

Now that the initial startup phase of our company is complete, our team of Analysts has determined
what we have deemed reasonable costs, considering that our definition of reasonable aligns with
yours. In order to defend our stance on what we feel is reasonable, we have considered the nature of
costs, such as air travel for business meetings and the use of our high quality materials, by researching
the market for affordable, high quality materials and have put standards in place to keep air travel
valid for these government contracts. With the understanding that although the nature of the cost may
be considered acceptable, the amount of the cost may not meet standards when it comes to costs
defined as reasonable (Murphy, John Edward; Guide to Contract Pricing, pg. 47). With this in mind,
we continue to research the market to find adequate material at a much lower cost. We have used this
data to create what we feel is a cost that would not and should not exceed what any prudent person
would pay in a competitive business environment. We are aware of the competition and have made it a
strong incentive of ours to save on costs for the items that we are providing to you. Allowability of our
costs is guided by the 52 generally applicable cost principles that are based on specific laws and
policies (Murphy, John Edward; Guide to Contract

Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay
THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first battles
fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and the Royal
British Army. The Revolutionary War was a result of patriot colonists speaking out against the taxes
and regulations being imposed upon them by King George III and resulted in the establishment of
America as an independent nation. The objectives of the Battle of Bunker Hill were first and foremost
to stand up to the British army, and secondly, to keep the British from gaining complete control over
the city of Boston and the surrounding area. History Historically, The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of,
if not THE most notable battle during the American Revolution. Events leading up to the Battle of
Bunker Hill began twelve years prior with the British Proclamation of 1773 which prohibited colonists
from settling west of the Appellation Mountains.1 Over the next twelve years, British rule instituted
many expensive taxes on everything from marriage licenses to sugar and tea. Harsh treatment from the
British troops occupying the American colonies also contributed to the growing unrest among the
colonists. Patriots such as Samuel Adams and John Hancock rallied the colonists to ... Show more

Seum Bilirubin
Normal liver functions are characterized by balanced activities of the enzymes AST, ALT, and ALP
(used as serum marker enzymes), which are found in high concentrations in the cytoplasm of liver
cells. In hepatic injury, the lysosomal instability due to CCl4 leads to leakage of these marker enzymes
into the blood stream, (Celik, et al., 2009). Serum bilirubin is one of the most sensitive tests employed
in the diagnosis of hepatic diseases. It provides useful information about how well the liver is
functioning. Bilirubin, a chemical breakdown product of hemoglobin, is conjugated with glucuronic
acid in hepatocytes to increase its water solubility. Unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia may be the result
of mass inhibition of the conjugation reaction, and consequent release of bilirubin itself from damaged
hepatocytes, (Saravanan, et al., 2006).

This free radical, which is initially formed as relatively unreactive, reacts very rapidly with oxygen to

Lipid peroxidation may cause peroxidative tissue damage in inflammation, cancer, aging, ulcer,
cirrhosis, and atherosclerosis. Therefore, inhibition of the cytochrome P450 dependent oxygenase
activity could cause a reduction in the level of toxic reactive metabolites and a decrease in tissue
injury. On the other hand, an elevation of plasma AST and ALT activities could be regarded as a sign
of damage to the liver cell

George And Lennie s Strengths And Weaknesses
In the book, Of Mice and Men the two main characters, George and Lennie, have many strengths and
weaknesses that are compared and contrasted throughout the novella. Between any two friends, there
is always a more dominant friend, and there is always a less dominant friend. In this novella, George
is the more dominant friend, and Lennie is the less dominant friend. But, just because George holds
more power in their relationship, it doesn t mean that he has more strengths than Lennie. Of Mice and
Men shows how the two friends have some of the same qualities, and some that are different. George
and Lennie are both very strong individuals, but in different ways. George is mentally stronger than
Lennie, but Lennie is physically stronger than George. Lennie has a mental disability, which is one of
his weaknesses. He is slow, he does not understand situations, and he does not understand his own
physical strength. How strong Lennie is, is one of his strengths in the story. He is a very large man,
and a very skilled artisan on the farm. In the book George explains Lennie s mental vs. physical

By the middle of the 1700 s, a significant organization took place. From New England to Georgia,
different groups of Baptists began to form churches. They had only one doctrinal requirement that
united them, i.e., the believer s baptism by full immersion in water; also, Baptists then had different
theological doctrinal beliefs. Notwithstanding, in the 1700 s, Baptist leaders sought to unify and
homogenize the Baptist theology; they founded colleges and formed associations. However, the cause
of religious liberty, was also a unanimous and significant characteristic that united the majority of
Baptists. Their participation within their communities distinguished from other denominations. The
Baptists were not contending for tolerance but for absolute religious liberty. Theirs demand was not
for their right only but for the right of all dissenters and non conformists as well. Some historians
affirm that religious liberty in America was accomplished due to the diligence of the American
Baptist, which now is proven to be the greatest contribution to American science and statecraft. 11

form an underlying foundation for many of the tensions between Sierra Leone which contributed to
the initial lack of economic prosperity for the settlement of freed slaves. Initial interactions founded
these tensions. Newly arrived freed slaves that settled in colonies in Sierra Leone employed local
Africans to help with building their settlements. However, despite this aid, the strains on the settlers in
terms of disease and disorder caused the initial settlements to fail. After this failure, more freed slaves
attempted to settle again at a different time of the year. They were warned that if they behaved
improperly, local African rulers would take them and sell them on slave ships (Braidwood 1994).
Indigenous Africans challenged this arrival of settlers and aggravated them, and settlers requested
defense supplies from Europe for fear of being massacred (Braidwood 1994). One of the shortfalls of
Thompson s perspective is that he seems to be unaware of the magnitude of the tensions between
indigenous Africans and freed slaves. Tribal chiefs led movements in resistance to European influence,
and Thompson is largely ignorant of this. The Temne chiefs who sold Freetown to British abolitionists
initiated a series of misunderstandings that would later incite conflict between the groups. This
founded some of the conflicts between indigenous Africans and Europeans, but Tribal chiefs were not
only provoked by European influence. The decline of the slave trade also meant that tribal

Japan s Ancient Japanese Religion
Nature in Japan Japan s ancient religion, Shinto, has been an influence in the way that Japanese view
nature. Starting about 500 BCE (or earlier) it was originally an amorphous mix of nature worship,
fertility cults, divination techniques, hero worship, and shamanism (Robinson). Japanese have learned
from religion to respect, nurture and be gentle to nature. They believe that all human life and human
nature is sacred (Robinson). Nature to them is an art; a way of living. Kami are the spirits or

Arguments Between Socrates And Meletus
Socrates, the magnificent philosopher of the old Athens, was known by his wisdom. He was led to
court because of some accusations that became serious charges and led Socrates to death at the age of
seventy. In this essay, the argument between Socrates and Meletus will be examined based on the
accusations of corrupting the youths, believing in other gods instead of gods of Athens and making the
weaker argument appear stronger and their refutations that show Socrates was actually accused of
being a smart speaker.
So as to protect himself against the charges of offensiveness, Socrates calls Meletus to the stand to
question him on each of the assertions. He starts by condemning Meletus for saying Socrates is guilty
of meddling, of inquiring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He asks Meletus whether the charges from his deposition are true; that he ruins the youths by Teaching
them not to believe in the gods in whom the city believes but in other new spiritual things (26b) to
which Meletus reacts that it definitely is. Socrates starts by approaching Meletus for an explanation of
the charge. He asks whether the allegation is that he has faith in new divinities or is it that he doesn t
trust in any god at all, and hence it is his skepticism that defiles the youths (26c). Meletus answers in
the positive to the charge of skepticism it is Socrates agnosticism that ruins. Socrates then utilizes his
well known strategy and turns the men of Athens attention to thoughtfulness regarding the irregularity
in the charge that he presents new spiritual things (27b 28a). He goes ahead to demonstrate that
Meletus case of confidence in new spiritual things is in inconsistency to agnosticism which cannot
hold to any spiritual view. Socrates practices various basic analogies to strengthen this point. He says
that faith in human activities involves confidence in people, that confidence in horsemen s exercises
involves confidence in horses, faith in woodwind playing involves a confidence in woodwinds, and
henceforth confidence in spirits (which are generally the offspring of the gods) likewise involves
belief in the divine beings

The intaglio process, which has been around since the 1400s, and is still used today, is a perfect

Intaglio can be used with a variety of different materials such as glass, wood, and stone, but zinc
seems to be the favorite. Intaglio is used in a variety of different methods such as etching, drypoint,
line engraving and aquatint. The process may seem a little lengthy, but it s well worth the effort. A
gooey black waxy material is spread all over the material used. When it is dries, the designer scratches
into it and then placed in an acid bath. The ink is then applied and ran through a press where
duplicates can be made. There are a variety of hard grounds that can be used such as aquatint, sugar

process is. The pieces are elegant, beautiful and permanent. Intaglio is an art that only certain people

The primary elements of the department are academic advising, transfer application assistance,
transfer assistance, academic counseling. As a strength, the program is intentional in providing
students with reliable information to transfer, since the information is always changing. Also, the
department is strong in implementing services such as conferences, workshops, summer programs,
and campus tours that with assist students in the transfer process. Another strength of the department
is a consistent collaboration with other programs within the institution to benefit the students such as
collaboration with programs like Puente and EOP S in which these programs bring their student to the
Transfer Center to attend Transfer 101 workshops. An area in which the department was inconsistent
with the CAS standards was in not having established student learning outcomes. In addition, the
department was also inconsistent in their program design not using multiple formats to deliver the
information, for example lacking a video presence, not doing enough to engage with parents, therefore
being unconsidered of their student population.

Rome, the first long and lasting empire that swept through other nations like wildfire. Rome broke the
barriers of politics and government. Rome also stood for something that citizens of today look at as

of the power. Power is defined as the capability or the ability to direct or influence the behaviors of
others or the course of events. (sited by Dictornary.com). Rome certainly did this in a lot of ways.
Rome has both influenced culture and many other things. Rome itself stood over the world like a
shining example of an empire. Also, one of the most important people in this colossal empire, was the
emperor himself. One man that almost every dictator looks to as a shining example is Julius Caesar.
Julius Caesar traveled a lot as kid. And when he was young he was kidnapped by pirates. He also
traveled around the world to study and became a great war general (sited by vroma.org). Statues of
him still are in a lot of museums and public places. He has made an impact to the old world so big that
it moved cultures and united ideas. Caesar, who won the hearts and popularity of so

The Second Sex!
The Feminist Movement (also known as The Women s Liberation movement) is a social movement
organized around the belief that both men and women are equal in every way. The role of feminism in
the 20th century changed the lives of many women, opening new doors to greater opportunities such
has: jobs, education, and empowerment. Many achievements and organizations were a success in
bringing a new role into society for women all over. However, the battle that seems to keep
reappearing over time is the constant struggle between man and women and the fundamental question
that still is left unanswered, who is inferior? In her novel, The Second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir
discusses the role of women as being oppressed in the views of men who ... Show more content on

Beauvoir notes in her second volume, When I wrote that one is not born, but rather becomes a woman
I meant just this that women become feminine through the process of social brainwashing and
stereotyping. She states key points of womanhood that are notably unseen or foreign in man:
pregnancy, lactation, and menstruation. Thus, this type of phenomena contributes to the marked
difference in women all together. Furthermore, what society seems to overlook when they take these
types of differences are the existential importance s that each carry on. Thus, woman may fail to lay
claim to the status of subject because she lacks definite resources, because she feels the necessary
bond that ties her to man regardless of reciprocity, and because she is often very well pleased with her
role as the Other.
Women overall are raised believe that the only way to achieve happiness and gain success is through
the acceptance of denying her true identity. Women all over are being deprived of their possibilities for
fulfillment and opportunity because they are shaped based on their childhood where they learn to
accept the dissatisfying life of work around the house, nurturing and raising children, and the sexual
slavishness. While living the kind of adulthood, Beauvoir addresses the certain roles women live in a
sexist society: wife, mother,

Phonemic Awareness Essay
Phonemic Awareness There are many components to building a student s reading skill set. One skill
that is introduced in preschool and developed through the primary grades is phonemic awareness. The
term phonemic awareness is defined as the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate phonemes
individual sounds. The child becomes aware of how sounds are connected to words prior to reading.
This awareness creates the understanding of how phonemes explains how the smallest part of sound
creates a difference in sound to the meaning of a word. Therefore, the ability to dismantle words, and
reassemble them, and then to alter the word into something different explains the concept behind
phonemic awareness. It is the primary foundation in which other reading skill sets are according
based.

The analysis determined that difficulties in reading are strongly related to the lack of phonemic
awareness. Instruction, when given explicitly and direct one on one focus in one skill area of
phonemic awareness were greater than instructions that focused on three or more skill areas. In
addition, the NRP continued to state that children taught in small group settings showed larger
improvement gains than students taught in large groups or individually. The panel concluded that it
could be taught under a variation of conditions, for a diverse range of learners. Furthermore, it stated
that instruction of phonemic awareness was more effective through the use of letters, explicitly
focused on only one or two areas of awareness, lesson and activities were tailored toward small group
development levels, and program ranged from 5 to 18 hours remaining under 20 hours of instruction
based on 25 minute instruction

The Holocaust And The Holocaust
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum states, The denial or distortion of history is an assault
on the truth and understanding. Holocaust denial is the act of denying the genocide of Jews and other
groups in the Holocaust during World War II. Common denial and distortions includes that the death
of 6 million Jewish people never transpired, that the deaths was an enormous exaggeration, that the
diary of Anne Frank is a forgery, and that the results of deaths in the concentration camps were due to
starvation or diseases. Often the denials is about Nazi Germany s aim to deporting Jews from the
Reich; however, not including the extermination of Jews. Their claims includes the nonuse of
extermination camps and gas chambers to mass murder Jews, or in fact, ceased to ever exist. By
denying the truth about the Holocaust, it adds insult to those who suffered involuntarily by taking
away their life robbing Jewish people and victims alike of their past and their future. Remembrance
and truths about the past affects how the society grows and change because we become more
understanding. When deniers intentionally deny or distort the truths, it takes the very fact about the
victim s life away, and ultimately we do not learn. Despite the murder of millions of Jews and other
victims impending evidences on the Holocaust, former Nazis spread lies that it never occurred. From
the start, the Holocaust was a secret only within Nazi Germany. The Germans mostly communicated

Essay about Economics of a Monopoly
Economics of a Monopoly
Introduction
¡§Monopoly¡¨ is defined by its market power. Monopolies are always known to possess an exclusive
control over its particular market and that gives them the sovereign authority to control the prices for
its goods or services (Dictionary.com Unabridged (v1.1), 2006). Hence, they represent the market.
They indeed have detrimental effects on consumer and social welfare.
In this paper, section 1 will focus on the theory and economics of a monopoly. Section 2 will discuss
with a recent case of monopoly, as in the web search engine company Google, whose real
repercussion is still not clear to most consumers. Finally this essay will conclude with the outlook on
how world markets are opening up to each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

1.2 Monopoly against perfect competition
To understand better how the monopoly affects the market, we need to compare monopoly to perfect
competition. Where there is perfect competition, the company is unable to decide the price of their
product. In other words, the company has to label their prices according to the prices of their
competitors. However, in a monopoly, they decide the prices and that too, at a much higher price with
a different output compared to a competitive industry (Sloman, 2005).Some key points are given

Short Story Of Montresor
As I walked off the bus I noticed a black station wagon parked in my drive way.
Who could this be? I wondered.
As I open the door a gentleman in a black suit caught my attention.
You must be Mr. Montresor, what a lovely man indeed.
a a a and you are. The nerves in my body were shocked, what is he doing, where are my parents, how
does he know my name.
Oh, pardon my rudeness, I am the Dawn White, the richest guy in town, also your parents lawyer.
I can just tell by the way he introduced himself this man wasn t good news. Why is he sitting all alone
in my house?
I didn t mean to fright you, young man
The name is Montresor. I corrected.
Montresor, I come here today with good news, your grandparents had sadly passed which I send my
condolences. But because of their passing they left you with their liberty, you can now enjoy their
multimillion dollar home and royalty.
It was as if Dawn White s words were a blur. Am I dreaming? Is this all a prank? No, it couldn t be.
Why would he just come out of nowhere to grant us the biggest wish.
Hello, Montresor? Are you okay?
Yeah, sorry sir. I stuttered.
Your parents are in the process of moving, it is time for me to go now. Enjoy your new life.
As White slams the door shut, I couldn t help but replay the words moving in my head. How would
Fortunato take this news? How would I take that kind of news? There is only one way to find out.
As I walk to his door my heart pounded harder and harder with every step.

Vehicle Repair History Check
If you are about to buy a used vehicle, it is essential that you check all relevant details so that you
have no regrets later on. It is important that you run a vehicle repair history check. It is important
because you must know about the vehicle s exact condition, instead of relying on the information
given by the seller, because there is a large possibility that the seller is not being totally truthful.
A vehicle repair history check tells you about the history of any repairs done on the vehicle. It also
informs you about the vehicle s owner. Apart from the services done on the vehicle, it also gives you
other minuscule information such as the type of repair work done on the vehicle. It tells us about the
used vehicle s actual condition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dealer will inform you about the repairs done on the vehicle if it was done in his workshop. If the
vehicle was not repaired in the dealer s workshop, then it is advisable to ask the seller. The seller
would be able to give you details about the workshop where the vehicle was repaired. You then just
have to visit the workshop. These workshops have the records of the vehicles repaired there, in a
computerized form. You just have to give them the VIN and they will tell you about the vehicle s
repair history.
However, the best way of discovering a vehicle s repair history is to carry out a complete vehicle
history check through one of the registered agencies. By running an online vehicle history check you
will have full details of what repairs the vehicle has undergone in its lifetime. This will make it
impossible for a seller to give false information and is a good way for a prospective buyer of a used
car to protect himself.
As you probably already know, having details of a used car s history is essential before purchase. And
with online car history checking services offering a full repair history so easily and quickly, there is no
excuse for any prospective used car buyer to not take this simple step to protect

Thanksgiving Compare And Contrast
The two biggest holidays celebrated worldwide are celebrated in different months and on different
days; why, because they are different. In the eyes of society Christmas and Thanksgiving are very
different. Over the years, Christmas has changed slightly, it has become more family oriented and less
religious, making it more like Thanksgiving. A lot of the times the word, Christ is being removed from
the word Christmas, resulting in Xmas. Somehow, the society was able to change the word of the
holiday, but was unable to change the meaning and purpose. The meaning and purpose of the holiday
closely relates to Thanksgiving. Christmas and Thanksgiving are not commonly linked together, but in
many ways they are very similar and should be looked at as one big dysfunctional family holiday,
instead of two. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Lean Manufacturing Helps Produce High Output With Low...
Lean Manufacturing seeks to produce high output with low inventory. Lean Manufacturing was
originally known as the Toyota production system invented by Sakichi Toyoda. The whole purpose is
to lower waste and increase profit and output. This paper will discuss the history of lean
manufacturing Lean manufacturing and the transition and steps involved with Just In time
manufacturing. Lean manufacturing defines waste as anything that absorbs resources but creates no
value. So what is considered waste? The main concepts of Just In Time manufacturing are to eliminate
waste and excess inventory stocks. Toyota was the developer of these techniques, a lot of Toyotas
concepts were derived from Henry Ford s methods. Toyota defined three broad types ... Show more

The fifth is inventory wastes this is when you have more inventory than needed which leads to a loss
of money. The sixth is waste of motion this includes simple actions of the employee having everything
were it is needed increases productivity. The seventh is waste from product defects; defects cause
rework and delay the process. Muri is the waste reduction process. Mura can be avoided if you have a
step by step process your employee must know every step they must take to get the process done. You
must set up repeatable process steps and must have times set for process to get done. When these steps
are set forth you should notice higher quality of finished product, improved productivity, and reduced
costs. Mura Identifies waste reduction which is an effective way to increase profits because any raw
product wasted is a loss in profits. Another section of Lean Manufacturing is Just in Time production.
The JIT philosophy, when carried out properly, reduces or eliminates major amounts of waste from
purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and manufacturing business (Hay, 1988). There are three
basic components of flow, quality, and employee involvement. The first step is you must know what
waste is, Toyota defines waste as anything other than the minimum amount of equipment, materials,

  • 2. Sociology Arranged Marriage Is there real love existing in an arranged marriage? Are arranged marriages successful in the long term? These are some questions that many people think about before entering one. But, what exactly is an arranged marriage? According to New World Encyclopedia, an arranged marriage is, a marriage which involves the parents in a process of selecting marriage partners for their children, with or without the help of a matchmaker. (New World Encyclopedia) (show visual). You don t hear the term arranged marriage quite often here in North America. Why? Well, mainly because it s rare in this part of the world. Where it is common though is in the Middle East. They have strong cultural traditions and values, and do not allow themselves to necessarily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of my sources titled, Confluence of Influence: Indian American Youths Perception, Negotiation, and Transformation of Arranged Marriage Traditions in Modern American Society, written by Dianne Laura Fabii, talked about the opinions of second generation Indian American youth on arranged marriages (show visual). Their parents, grandparents, and past generations all had one, but since they are growing up in the United States, a western country where individualism and freedom are highly valued, they decided that the tradition will not apply to their futures (Fabii, 2017). In addition, I came upon an article which was a real life story rather than a collection of data. It was from National Public Radio written by Jamie Tarabay, titled, Arranged Marriage: Trapped Between Two Cultures. It focused on a 25 year old female named Mediha Sandhu (show visual) who is dealing with her parents wanting her to move to Pakistan to have an arranged marriage, as opposed to her wanting to stay in New Jersey. The article dives deep into her story and explains her feeling trapped between two completely different cultures. Sandhu is afraid of losing her freedom and identity, and how she won t be able to express herself the way she is doing currently, because she is being forced to move back to a country where women are seen as unimportant and simply useful for being a housewife (Tarabay, ... • 4. The Meaning Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali I remember the painting The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali that I could see in one of my textbooks back then when I was in Poland taking a history class. I really enjoyed the painting, even though I did not really know what the meaning of the painting was. Now, I got motivated to write a research paper about the piece of art, and to answer the question what the meaning of The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali is. The painting was created in 1931. Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist. Surrealism was a movement in the culture that introduced new techniques of creating visual arts. Surrealism was concentrated on people imagination, dreams, subconscious and unconscious minds on the nonphysical aspects of a human s body. Surrealists often created their works using dream imagery. Symbols played an important role in the art of surrealism. Symbols expressed ideas and emotions that were held by the authors of the visual arts, and they usually had hidden meanings. Salvador Dali was passionate about the intangible parts of people minds and lives. (Stanley Meisler, pp.16 17) The main desire of the Salvador Dali s painting titled The Persistence of Memory was to express the power of people memories with the respect to the passing time. However, the painting The Persistence of Memory has other significant meanings. Some art scholars strongly emphasize that there is a correlation between the painting of Salvador Dali and the General Theory of Relativity by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Effects Of Social Class On Unethical Behavior Effect of Social Class on Unethical Behavior Both social class and ethical behavior are important notions in our society today and have been for many years. Unethical behavior can be defined as behavior or actions that hurts others and are illegal or ethically questionable (Piff et al., 2012). CNN recently reported Volkswagen is being charged with deception regarding emissions of supposedly clean vehicles. They reported that for over ten years more than eleven million vehicles have been deliberately programmed to fabricate emissions of damaging pollutants under certified testing conditions (Tellado, 2015). Why are consumers so concerned and outraged at this fraud? This upsets consumers and others because they care about and find ethics and morality to be important. Morals and values are important in our society because they help direct people s lives and motivate people to take part in meaningful relationships. The research completed for his article examines not just ethical behavior but also the role social class playing in determining ethical behavior. The relationship between these to notions will examined by observing behavior at a crosswalk. Social class is defined as a circumstance established by both the material substance of social life and the individual s understanding of his or her social rank, and is a fundamental feature of how he or she interacts in the social world (Kraus et al., 2012). Clothing type was used to operationalize social class in this research, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the understanding that although the nature of the cost may be considered acceptable, the amount of the cost may not meet standards when it comes to costs defined as reasonable (Murphy, John Edward; Guide to Contract Pricing, pg. 47). With this in mind, we continue to research the market to find adequate material at a much lower cost. We have used this data to create what we feel is a cost that would not and should not exceed what any prudent person would pay in a competitive business environment. We are aware of the competition and have made it a strong incentive of ours to save on costs for the items that we are providing to you. Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first battles fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and the Royal British Army. The Revolutionary War was a result of patriot colonists speaking out against the taxes and regulations being imposed upon them by King George III and resulted in the establishment of America as an independent nation. The objectives of the Battle of Bunker Hill were first and foremost to stand up to the British army, and secondly, to keep the British from gaining complete control over the city of Boston and the surrounding area. Events leading up to the Battle of Bunker Hill began twelve years prior with the British Proclamation of 1773 which prohibited colonists from settling west of the Appellation Mountains.1 Over the next twelve years, British rule instituted many expensive taxes on everything from marriage licenses to sugar and tea. • 14. Seum Bilirubin Normal liver functions are characterized by balanced activities of the enzymes AST, ALT, and ALP (used as serum marker enzymes), which are found in high concentrations in the cytoplasm of liver cells. In hepatic injury, the lysosomal instability due to CCl4 leads to leakage of these marker enzymes into the blood stream, (Celik, et al., 2009). Serum bilirubin is one of the most sensitive tests employed in the diagnosis of hepatic diseases. It provides useful information about how well the liver is functioning. Bilirubin, a chemical breakdown product of hemoglobin, is conjugated with glucuronic acid in hepatocytes to increase its water solubility. Unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia may be the result of mass inhibition of the conjugation reaction, and consequent release of bilirubin itself from damaged hepatocytes, (Saravanan, et al., 2006). From New England to Georgia, different groups of Baptists began to form churches. They had only one doctrinal requirement that united them, i.e., the believer s baptism by full immersion in water; also, Baptists then had different theological doctrinal beliefs. Notwithstanding, in the 1700 s, Baptist leaders sought to unify and homogenize the Baptist theology; they founded colleges and formed associations. However, the cause of religious liberty, was also a unanimous and significant characteristic that united the majority of Baptists. Their participation within their communities distinguished from other denominations. The Baptists were not contending for tolerance but for absolute religious liberty. Theirs demand was not for their right only but for the right of all dissenters and non conformists as well. Jacks Causes And Disadvantages form an underlying foundation for many of the tensions between Sierra Leone which contributed to the initial lack of economic prosperity for the settlement of freed slaves. Initial interactions founded these tensions. Newly arrived freed slaves that settled in colonies in Sierra Leone employed local Africans to help with building their settlements. However, despite this aid, the strains on the settlers in terms of disease and disorder caused the initial settlements to fail. After this failure, more freed slaves attempted to settle again at a different time of the year. They were warned that if they behaved improperly, local African rulers would take them and sell them on slave ships (Braidwood 1994). Indigenous Africans challenged this arrival of settlers and aggravated them, and settlers requested defense supplies from Europe for fear of being massacred (Braidwood 1994). One of the shortfalls of Thompson s perspective is that he seems to be unaware of the magnitude of the tensions between indigenous Africans and freed slaves. Tribal chiefs led movements in resistance to European influence, and Thompson is largely ignorant of this. The Temne chiefs who sold Freetown to British abolitionists initiated a series of misunderstandings that would later incite conflict between the groups. This founded some of the conflicts between indigenous Africans and Europeans, but Tribal chiefs were not only provoked by European influence. The decline of the slave trade also meant that tribal ... He was led to court because of some accusations that became serious charges and led Socrates to death at the age of seventy. In this essay, the argument between Socrates and Meletus will be examined based on the accusations of corrupting the youths, believing in other gods instead of gods of Athens and making the weaker argument appear stronger and their refutations that show Socrates was actually accused of being a smart speaker. So as to protect himself against the charges of offensiveness, Socrates calls Meletus to the stand to question him on each of the assertions. He asks Meletus whether the charges from his deposition are true; that he ruins the youths by Teaching them not to believe in the gods in whom the city believes but in other new spiritual things (26b) to which Meletus reacts that it definitely is. Socrates starts by approaching Meletus for an explanation of the charge. He asks whether the allegation is that he has faith in new divinities or is it that he doesn t trust in any god at all, and hence it is his skepticism that defiles the youths (26c). Meletus answers in the positive to the charge of skepticism it is Socrates agnosticism that ruins. Socrates then utilizes his well known strategy and turns the men of Athens attention to thoughtfulness regarding the irregularity in the charge that he presents new spiritual things (27b 28a). He goes ahead to demonstrate that Meletus case of confidence in new spiritual things is in inconsistency to agnosticism which cannot hold to any spiritual view. Socrates practices various basic analogies to strengthen this point. He says that faith in human activities involves confidence in people, that confidence in horsemen s exercises involves confidence in horses, faith in woodwind playing involves a confidence in woodwinds, and henceforth confidence in spirits (which are generally the offspring of the gods) likewise involves belief in the divine beings ...
