Epicurus Vs Lucretius
i. Death is something that is inevitably going to happen in everybody s lifetime. We see people get
older every day and as we know we don t live eternally. But should death be feared or is it harmful?
That is something that nobody can know without a doubt the answer to, but two philosophers,
Epicurus and Lucretius, have built their own arguments on the common assumption that death is the
total annihilation of the self. Therefore, if there is no life after death, we shouldn t fear death itself.
Epicurus creates his no harm argument on the fact that after we die we no longer exist. Lucretius takes
another approach where he makes a comparison using non existence before life. If we don t consider
this time period before we come to life to be bad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are downfalls to Epicurus and Lucretius arguments that I think can make them debatable. It
cannot be proven that after death our souls are eradicated. For example, many religions believe in life
after death in some form whether it is in reincarnation or heaven. I understand that millions of people
around the world believe in this for a reason and would not blindly trust in an afterlife if they didn t
have a good enough reason to. In addition, there is no way to reach out to those who have already
passed away to know for sure. Therefore, it seems impossible to know with certainty that death is the
total annihilation of the self. This makes me doubt both philosopher s arguments because the claim
that our existence is cutoff after death is what both Epicurus and Lucretius build their arguments off
of. Another reason why I believe death is harmful is because it stops you from experiencing the things
that make you happy in life. Epicurus states that death cannot possibly cause us harm because we stop
existing in that moment. It is my belief though that by our existence coming to a halt that that itself
does cause us harm. You are no longer able to be with the ones you love or do the things that you love.
If we would have lived longer we would be able to experience more of the good things. We might not
feel physical pain or harm after death but that doesn t mean that we aren t missing out on the things
that are enjoyable in the

Cultural Experience Reflection Paper
Cultural Experience Reflection: Spain, Healing Dirt, and Amores Perros When learning a new
language, educating, experiencing, and learning about the culture behind the language is paramount. It
is not simple enough to learn the vocabulary and grammar of Spanish. As a Spanish 1010 student, my
learning experience has been enriched through participating in cultural events. Furthermore, I gained a
deeper understanding and appreciation for the language and native speakers. Over the last semester, I
participated in the following three cultural experiences: traveling to Spain, attending the Healing Dirt
event, and watching the movie Amores Perros. Fortunately for me, these three events covered a
variety of issue areas (e.g., religious traditions, language dynamics, and machismo); additionally, each
event was based in different Spanish speaking countries. Over the past summer, I traveled to Spain
and was able experienced the culture and traditions of the Hispanic people for two weeks. I was struck
by how language and cultural heritage played a major role in shaping the experiences of Hispanic
people. The role of language plays a huge role in shaping the experiences and lives of the people
living in Barcelona. In the city of Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish are the languages spoken.
Furthermore, the government only provides free education to learn Catalan, not Spanish. This
preservation of the Catalonian culture represents the ongoing effort of the Catalonians to gain
independence from Spain. Through preserving the native Catalonian language through law and
education, these Hispanic people show how they adamantly defend their heritage and place high value
on preserving Catalonian culture. I recognized the respect the other Barcelonans had for the
Catalonian people. Though their cultures have many fundamental differences, the non Catalonians
living in Barcelona learn how to speak Catalan in order to communicate, but also to validate the
integrity of their cross culture interactions. This enables an open discussion politically and socially on
the issues both cultures bring to the discussion. After traveling through Spain, I was inspired by the
people to learn how to speak

Identity Identities, Identity, Identities And Identities
In everyday talk to reach personal aspects of who they are, as well as group level identifications,
people implement many different practices in speech to help support these identities. Identities are
important because it influence how a communication interact, and shape how they communicate
Category approaches treat identities as stable aspects of persons that shape how they communicate
(Tracy Robles, 2013, p 20).
As we have learned there are three main identities that a person tends to present during a
communication situation. They are master identities, interactional identities and personal identities.
They do not work individually but assist together to create a social role that a person is trying to

The person I select is the father, who filmed the entire conversation. I find him interesting because he
did not talk much but at the end the father successfully left with his son without being enforce by
police. The two identities on the father I would like to analyse here is a father finished visitation and
filming and a father covering his son . These two identities are conflict because the father was trying
to keep out of the affair and just film anything might happen, but also wants to help his son. For
convenience lets call the first identities father cameramen and second identities father daddy . I will
select six discourse practices that indicate how two identities seems to be in tension with each other.
First three discourse practices indicate father cameramen identities.
IDENTITY : Father who finished visitation and filming
DISCOURSE PRACTICE 1: Disclaiming
EXAMPLE: He s not being restrained by me. I m just filming, that s all I m doing.
Disclaiming are verbal devices to deflect others from assigning negative or inappropriate personal
identities to self. They are conversational moves that are done at the time before a potentially
problematic utterance. Disclaiming: Also disclaimers; Face threatening speech act that seeks to deflect
potential criticism (Tracy Robles, 2013, p 285). Here the father wants to show that he was not the

The Importance Of Living In A Small Town
Living in a small town is an enjoyable, yet bittersweet experience. I grew up in Winnemucca, one of
the smallest towns in Northern Nevada. The town is unknown to the majority of people who reside out
of its state. I can certainly say that my hometown has been influential on my upbringing. However, my
family has played and continues to influence me as a person. Though small, Winnemucca and my
family has undoubtedly had a huge impact on my growth and has made me into the person I am today.
My family is small, yet incredibly loving and caring. Though my parents have struggled and
sacrificed, they have provided many things to my brother and me; they have always supported us. For
me specifically, this includes giving me the gift of having a buoyant childhood. My regular day, in my
childhood and throughout my teen years consisted of math problems, reading, writing, and art
projects, playing games with my brother outside, basketball, hiking, volunteering, and doing activities
typical small town offers. I will forever appreciate the environment I grew up in because it taught me
to appreciate the little things. I craved one thing though: adventure.
I am lucky enough to say I have had adventures with my family before. I have memories of my family
and I going on trips to islands, our ancestral home in India, and other foreign nations/lands. Still, after
all the journeys, I craved more. But as I grew up more, I concluded that if I am with my family, I will
always be happy. They are my

My Third Year Of Study Statement
In my third year of study, I have decided to undertake a study placement abroad. I have chosen Bilkent
University in Ankara/Turkey as my study abroad location. What I am aiming to achieve during my
study placement is to get an idea of what studying abroad is like. To be honest, I believe it will be
easier to get high grades and I believe I am going to do very well. I got this insight as I looked at the
modules I am provided to take and generally, I have covered most of these modules or at least topics
included in the modules at Aston. Tomorrow we will get registered for the modules we have decided

Tone in William Wordsworth s quot; The World Is Too Much...
In William Wordsworth s sonnet The World Is Too Much with Us the speaker conveys his frustration
about the state in which he sees the world. Throughout the poem the speaker emphatically states his
dissatisfaction with how out of touch the world has become with nature. Typical of Italian sonnets, the
first eight lines of the poem establish the problems the speaker is experiencing such discontent about.
Subsequently, the next line reveals a change in tone where the speaker angrily responds to the
cynicism and decadence of society. Finally, the speaker offers an impossible solution to the troubles he
has identified. Through each line, the tone elevates from dissatisfaction to anger in an effort to make
the reader sense the significance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Disgusted, the speaker sees how society has morally degraded itself in exchange for wealth and greed.
The frustrated tone of the poem becomes further elevated when the speaker exclaims, We have given
our hearts away, a sordid boon! (4). Blinded by the daily drudgeries of life, people have become
impervious to nature, despite some of the grand displays that one can behold. The speaker describes
beautiful images of nature such as the sea, howling winds, and flowers that no longer create an
emotional response in people. Since the world has become so out of touch with nature, mankind is no
longer able to appreciate the drama that takes place between the wind and the moon. Additionally, the
speaker claims that society has become so indifferent to nature that, Little we see in Nature that is
ours; (3).
Outraged by society s apathy towards nature, the speaker experiences an angry outburst as he
endeavors to respond to this problem. Exclaiming, Great God! (9) the speaker unleashes his fury
towards society. He is no longer merely frustrated, but enraged by the unmoved society in which he
lives. In the remaining five lines of the poem the speaker alters his discourse from his disgust towards
society, to providing a resolution, albeit an impossible resolution to this crisis. Rather than become
indifferent to nature, the speaker would rather turn to a pagan Greek religion as a means of lessening
his frustration. Since the gods are figures that are intimately

Utilitarian Perspective On Feminism
A Utilitarian Perspective on Women s Rights John Stuart Mill s discussion of the subjection of women
leaves many scholars regarding him as one of the first feminist philosophers of his time. His work
analyzes and questions the everyday perspectives on women s rights, and challenges common societal
notions. Many philosophers today look to his work for a variety of reasons; some applaud his work for
being ahead of it s time. Others dismiss it, claiming that it s flawed due to personal attachment. Both
sides however regard Mill s writing as one filled with valid arguments, well developed points of
interests, and recognizable inclusive nature. This essay s discussion will include the basic principles of
Utilitarianism, John Stuart Mill s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As each single pursues their own pleasure, they collectively contribute to a happiness for the greater
good. Though their use of avoidance of pain, they each subdue unhappiness in the overall society. This
collective contribution not only betters the societies pursuit, but promotes the allowance of
individuality rather than conformity to solidarity. Mill s utilitarian description provides a greater
understanding for his further analysis as a philosopher; most notably in his arguments regarding
women s rights. Now that his concept of Utilitarian thought is greater understood, one can begin to
identify John Stuart Mill s points of discussion in his work The Subjection of Women. Mill clearly
states that the current standard of living is wrong itself, and ought to be replaced by a principle of
perfect equality ( Mill, 1) that does not subjugate or offer prejudice on either side. Although a
somewhat unrealistic goal, Mill s philosophical analysis actually provides some extremely contextual
and concise points of discussion. One major point in his argument occurs in his discussion of women s
roles in history. Mill s analysis of a lack of feminine power throughout the historical context of
western culture is one that is referred to by modern feminists today. His claim of female repression as
a single relic of an old world of thought and practice (Mill, 12) provides tremendous proof of
historical accuracy, regarding the questionable structural integrity of religiously

The Life Of Catherine Malabou And Levi Bryant
Catherine Malabou and Levi Bryant: A critical comparison of materialisms
Speculative materialism arose in response to the post Kantian philosophy of correlationism. Scholars
have since debated the relationship of the perceived (object) and the perceiver (subject). Kant s
transcendental materialist philosophy supports what Quentin Meillassoux terms weak correlationism
in that it allows for the thinking of the unknowable. However, strong correlationist (i.e. Heidegger and
Hegel) refute that humans can escape their own thoughts, therefore making it impossible to know or
even imagine that anything outside of the correlationist circle (objects in and of themselves) exists.
Both Catherine Malabou and Levi Bryant can be seen as emphasizing speculative materialism in that
they attempt to move beyond this subject object correlate. While Malabou describes neuronal
plasticity in What Should We Do With Our Brain, Bryant focuses on machines and their ontology in
Onto Cartography: An Ontology of Machines and Media. Malabou s ultimate description of the
resistance and contradiction between the brain and mind fails to be accounted for by Bryant s ontology
and conception of machines . Bryant s object oriented ontology does little to explain the origin of
freedom in his machines (whereby we can begin to take charge of society); however, Bryant does
suggest the use of thermopolitics to attack institutions. Together, Malabou and Bryant s philosophies
provide new ways of thinking about

Fighting Back By Harold Werner
Fighting Back It is well known that six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and the images
of Jews being rounded up by the hundreds to be taken to concentration camps pervade what we know
about the Holocaust. One might assume then that there were few acts of resistance to this inevitable
fate. However, resistance took place within the ghettos throughout Europe as well as within the
concentration camps. In Poland, where anti Semitism was rampant, there were organized movements
of resistance which took place in the ghettos and in the forests outside of the cities. Thousands of Jews
came together in what were known as partisan groups to sabotage German military operations and
help other Jews to escape from the ghettos. Harold Werner was a member of one of these partisan
groups who wrote a memoir entitled Fighting Back: a Memoir of Jewish Resistance in WWII. He
decided to write this memoir in part as a response to his children s questions about why the Jews went
like sheep to the slaughter. It was important to Werner not just to answer his children s questioning but
to highlight for the world, both Jews and non Jews, the bravery displayed by the thousands of Jews
who fought for their own lives and for the lives of other Jews. Werner s memoir is important for this
generation and those that follow to help us understand that there were thousands of Jewish citizens
who fought against the cruelty of the Nazis. I had read books about the Holocaust such as Night

that the Fairy tale creatures have been forced on to his swamp by Lord Farquaad, this leads Donkey

heroic side as well, even though it was not intentional.
When Shrek and Donkey arrive at Duloc they find that the town is deserted and they soon embark
upon a battle royal to rescue the Princess. Shrek becomes the target and says Can t we settle this over
a pint? This suggests that Shrek is not really a violent character and only uses fighting as a last resort.
Shrek agrees to Lord Farquaad, to go on the quest to save the Princess in exchange for his swamp
back. Upon the first leg of their journey Donkey says that Shrek should Pull some of that ogre stuff,
and suggests that Shrek isn t remotely scary. In response to this Shrek says So you want me to
decapitate an entire village cut open their spleens... Donkey is put back by this idea and Shrek reveals
that there is more to ogres than it seems. This shows that Shrek is not a conventional ogre who is
violent and vicious.
Shrek is seen by the other characters, as unconventional. This is apparent when Shrek meets Princess
Fiona. Princess Fiona in shaken

Mark Twain Analysis
Education may be conveyed in many formats, such as classrooms, laboratories, and books. Teachers
instruct within the classroom, while researchers and scientist utilize a laboratory setting for instruction
and education, while other forms of education derive from authors who communicate by the written
word. One well known author and educator is Samuel L. Clemens, more commonly known as Mark
Twain. Twain was born in Florida, Missouri on November 30, 1835 and utilized his childhood and
adolescent experiences as a method of education. Mark Twain is powerfully depicted as an
unconventional educator through his books, literature, and personal quotes.
Through some of Mark Twain s books he captures much of the history in which he lived. One of the
books that he has written is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which is based upon his memories from
when he lived in Missouri (Twain, 1876). The adventures that he wrote about in this particular book
actually took place in history, giving us an insight into what it was like to live in that time period.
Another book that gave several details on the history in the 19th century was The Prince and the
Pauper, because instead of giving insight on a personal experience, it gave insight on the class
relations in which people were separated during that time (Twain, 1881). This insight gave us
knowledge on how the people were categorized by their job titles. He shows the differences between
the classes by writing about two young boys that switch

Smoking and Second Hand Smoking Essay
Lifestyle is one of the determinants of health. Several factors influence the family lifestyle in UAE
such as smoking. Tobacco uses still a great health hazard. It caused death for more than six million
people in the world in 2010 (Aden, Karrar, Shafey Al Hosani, 2013). UAE faces a lot of negative
effects related to tobacco such as cardiovascular disease which counted by 37.5% of all deaths in the
Emirate of Abu Dhabi (Aden, Karrar, Shafey Al Hosani, 2013). Injury can cause mortality and
disability. It was the second leading cause of death UAE between 2000 and 2008 which is estimated at

It also can increase the risk of cancer, peripheral vascular diseases, and lung cancer. Smokers are at
doubled risk for ischemic stroke (Ockene Miller, 1997). Smoking plays a great role in endocrine
disorders. It can decline the rate of fertility in both male and female. It is also associated with insulin
resistance (Tweed, Hsia, Lutfy, Friedman, 2012). Indeed, both types of smoking, active and passive
smoking can cause serious health problems. Passive smoking is the inhalation of smoke, by persons
other than the intended active smoker. It is also known as second hand smoking and it can cause
premature death and morbidity. It can cause ischemic heart disease and asthma (Wipflia Sameta,
2011). Second hand smokers are at increased risk for coronary heart disease by approximately 30%
(Barnoya Glantz, 2005). Second hand smoking has undesirable harmful impacts on children. It can
cause lower respiratory tract infection, asthma, cot death and meningococcal disease. Children are
more prone to develop the above mentioned diseases than adults as, children inhale more polluted air
per kilogram (action on smoking and health, 2014). I would like to advise the paterfamilias or any
smoker to visit a Clinic for Smoking Cessation as it helps them to stop smoking immediately. Home

Plastic Vs Pollution
Within the past several years, many people have had heated debates on the topic of what will make
this planet greener and more environmentally friendly. Pollution is one of the leading anthropogenic
originating from human activity causes, and it has been affecting the planet since the time of Ancient
Rome. When people discuss pollution many automatically think of plastic, whether that be in lands,
waterways, or the ocean, it has the ability to create interruptions in the environment. Because of this
controversial topic, it all leads to the long debated question, paper or plastic? People are asked this
question everyday, usually towards food shoppers, and it s the average person s job to make an
environmentally conscious decision upon which most are not educationally aware enough to do so.
Although many have decided that paper versus plastic war has a simple solution, there are a majority
of things that need to be taken into consideration from both sides in order to make the best educated
and environmentally sound choice. Many people have been arguing over the paper or plastic debate to
decide how and which resource is more cost efficient and does the least amount of damage. Overall,
there are many factors that must be put into thought when having to decide on which type of material
is considered better for the environment. Plastic has always been a controversial topic in every aspect
that it s apart of. When somebody goes grocery shopping, they have to make a choice at

What Is The Similarities Between The Lhamo Theatre And The...
Lhamo, claimed by many to be the oldest living theatre in the world, for its origin dates back to at
least the 8th century AD; it is also one of the least extensively studied forms of theatre. Often a
similarity is made between the Athenian theatre festivals and the Tibetan theatre. The analogy between
the two is noticeable in the focus being on the poetic and sung parts, the chorus and the structure and
the use of space. There are no proven real historical links but the overwhelming resemblance must be
acknowledged which is reflected in the relationship between the theatrical event and the spirit of the
community. The entire community comes together ( with no distinction made in class and creed) and

How and why did the apartheid system come into existence...
The term apartheid was one of the most politically charged words in the second half of the 20th
century, and still remains notorious today. Apartheid translated from Afrikaans means separateness or
apartness . However when the National Party came to power in South Africa in 1948, it took on a
much more sinister meaning and today is associated with racial and ethnic discrimination. The roots of
apartheid stem deep into South African history. It started way back during European settlement, and
was enforced and maintained right up until the end of the 20th Century. It will forever leave a mark on
South Africa and indeed the world; a dark period in human history from which we have and will
continue to learn.

Apartheid came about in South Africa because of an Afrikaner belief of their god given right to Africa,
which was also a racist one. Apartheid was therefore a means to support and institutionalize their view
on how the country should be run.
Apartheid was kept in place through various means, mainly the use of legislation and technology. The
main way that the government implement apartheid was through legislation. There were countless
laws and bills passed, which over time stripped black Africans of their rights, all the while favoring
the white elite of South Africa. Race laws affected every social aspect of life in apartheid South
Africa. The early policies that were made when the National Party first came into power set the base
for the later policies to take effect and branch off. These policies embodied what the apartheid regime
was all about, notably two of the earliest policies made, being the Population Registration Act and the
Group Areas Act. Both were made in 1950, with the Population Registration Act requiring al South
Africans to be racially classified into either white, black or colored, and the Group Areas Act which
geographically separated the racial groups.
These laws and policies prevented the black population having the same privileges, standards of living
and status as the white South Africans. Under the apartheid system everyday life was greatly affected

Appealing to an audience s deep personal emotions plays an important role in advertisement. Many
exaggerated emotions can easily persuade the viewer to believe them and search for a way to escape
or solve that present emotion. Insecurity is prominent in almost all the newest advertisements. Giving
in to society s expectations to beauty, commercials direct themselves to make the viewer feel bad
about their image. Trying to instill anxiety or a lack of confidence can compel the viewer to buy their

kidnapped and asks if they would be willing to help. He had been kidnapped by Morgan le Fay, the
queen of fairies who had also captured a servant of Sir Ector s and a village idiot named Wat. Wart and

He is the orphan child who had been adopted by Sir Ector, Kay s father. Wart is a smart good natured
boy who will do anything to please the important people around him. He has a wizard tutor named
Merlyn who throughout the story turns him into different animals during his lessons. In these lessons
he he would meet a lot of animals and become friends with them which had a big affect on the story.
Later when Wart is trying to pull out the sword from the stone he sees a congregation of his animal
friends which gives him confidence to pull out the sword. Kay is the antagonist in the story and Sir
Ector s biological son. He is quite hostile, and has an aggressive attitude; but sometimes he can be
decent at heart. When Wart pulled out the sword from the stone and gave it to Kay, Kay told Sir Ector
that it was he who had pulled out the sword; subsequently Kay s veneer of wickedness chipped a little
and he admitted to lying about the sword. Sir Ector is the first secondary character. He is peremptory,
lively, and is also the superb father of Wart and Kay. He parents them according to strict rules of
conduct and wants them to learn the most that education can offer. The next secondary character is
Merlyn. Merlyn is Wart s powerful wizard tutor. He is wise, altruistic, and stern. He would also
transform Wart into different animals during his lessons in order for him to learn the many ways of
how others live their lives; and how they are a help to their communities. For example: One time
Merlyn turned Wart into a goose. Wart and another goose would guard the flock while they were
eating so that no other species would attack or come and take the food; and this was a help to the other
geese. All the times that Merlyn would transform Wart later has a big affect on the story when he is

Elkhead Transportation Case Study
Elkhead Transportation Solution The city of Elkhead should implement the proposal regarding
expansion of light rail transit to address the increasing concerns with traffic congestion and population
growth. The light rail transit (LRT) system should be modernized because LRT is environmentally,
socially, and economically feasible. These three aspects, when all taken in to account, form the triple
bottom line; an important measuring stick within appropriate technology. Appropriate technology is
technology suitable to environmental, social, and economic conditions of the geographic area in which
it is to be applied. The triple bottom line s three factors decide how well a certain technology will be

Short term, the expansion will create many jobs through the need of construction and manufacturing
jobs to build the railway. Once the LRT is built, there is the need to employ drivers, maintenance staff,
and rail guards on a continuous basis. For comparison, the C Train in Calgary costs a mere $0.27 per
passenger, whereas Hamilton s current bus system costs $5.00 per passenger, and fares only cover half
of bus fees. These values would directly correlate to the costs Elkhead would have with these
respective systems. While this proposal is the most expensive up front, over time, it is the only
proposal that provides any monetary profit to Elkhead. Also, since a train can carry as many as 5 times
more passengers than a bus. To benefit Elkhead s economy, the city would gain money if the LRT
were implemented, compared to losing money every day with a busing

The Importance Of Public Shaming
In Puritan times, shaming stayed within the boundaries of the town, but today the borders have
expanded to the entire world. Over time public shaming has changed for the worse; it used to be just
the people in the town shaming and the person feeling badly about themselves, but now the entire
world can know about it, and it leads to suicide. The three sources are The Scarlet
Letter (Nathaniel Hawthorne), The Price of Shame (Monica Lewinsky), and Is the Internet a
Mob without Consequences (Nick Bolton). Public shaming can affect a person s life terribly through
social, professional, and personal life.
First off public shaming negatively affects a person s life socially. In The Scarlet Letter everybody
now sees Hester differently and judges her because she committed adultery. This person has brought
shame upon us all, and ought to die. Is there no law for it (Hawthorne 36).
This quote shows the severity of how they are judging her because they are saying she should die. In
The Price of Shame Monica Lewinsky talked about how her public shaming was the first online
shaming, and everyone now knows what she did, which was fall in love with the
President. Lewinsky states I was seen by many but known by few and The public humiliation was
excruciating, life was almost unbearable those two quotes show how her shaming went global and she
felt so bad about herself that she almost killed herself. In Is the Internet a Mob without Consequences
Bolton talks about how Justine

Bruce Dawe Metaphors
Bruce Dawe s poems Katrina , A Victorian Hangman Tells His Love , Homo Suburbiensis and Enter
Without So Much As Knocking depict life and death through the use of similar poetic techniques such
as metaphors, imagery, onomatopoeia, tone and similes, although, with different circumstances. The
events in these four poems evoke emotions within the reader, the most common being sadness and
frustration. These emotions are explored, in all four poems, through the tone of melancholy. The use
of the melancholic tone in Dawe s poetry enables him to explore life from his poems

It is evident through both poems that Dawe believes the events in these poems are an injustice and he
disagrees with these events; this is heard through the melancholic, sad tone that is apparent in both
poems. He uses this sad tone to persuade the reader to disagree with what has happened. The poem
Katrina uses many metaphors to create imagery, which is also another technique in the poem. One
example of the use of metaphor would be suspended between earth and sky , this line is a metaphor
for life and it signifies the suspense as to whether Katrina will live or die as well as providing imagery
to the reader. Similarly, the poem A Victorian Hangman Tells His Love in

Laura Keene s The American Theater Business
Mary Frances Moss, better known as Laura Keene, is a British woman who took the American theatre
business by storm. Laura Keene is truly an inspiration. With her roots as an incredibly talented actress,
Laura Keene managed to branch out and accomplish many incredible feats that no one thought
possible for a woman in her time. She was the first woman in the United States to manage her own
theatre company, and although all of the odds were stacked against her, she came out triumphant. Her
legacy is one of hope, and the promise that anyone can achieve greatness so long as they never give
up.
On July 20th, 1826, in the city of Winchester, England, Mary Frances Moss was born. Her parents,
Jane Moss and Thomas King were ecstatic to be welcoming their fourth child into the world, and their
other children, Edward, Hannah, and Thomas, were all equally excited to meet the newest edition to
their family. Jane Moss was revered as a well educated woman, and wanted to raise her children to be
just as knowledgeable as she. Inspired particularly by Mary Wollstonecraft s writings on the
controversial topic of women s education, Jane Moss strongly believed in educating her daughters just
as meticulously as her sons. Mary was described as being a sunny little girl with auburn hair and large,
honey brown eyes; she could always be found with her nose in a book, and oftentimes, she would
practice reciting Shakespeare, and rehearsing until her performance was flawless. In addition to her

Data Storage And Communication Systems Essay
Abstract Encryption is widely used to ensure security in data storage and communication systems.
This paper introduces a new concept for image encryption using a new method we named it Meaning
Of Location (MOL) . In this method, the private key is an image that converted into RGB numbers
and the public key is random integers used to permutate the image. The location of the RGB will be
used to encrypt the plaintext. The performance of this algorithm is investigated against many different
attacks such as ciphertext attacks, plaintext attacks and brute force attack. The analysis and statistical
tests show the strength of this algorithm. The results show that the MOL algorithm is suitable for
securing wired and wireless communication systems such as smartcards and cell phone services.

What Does Integrity Mean To Me
As described by Merriam Webster dictionary:
1. Integrity
a. The quality of being honest and fair
b. The state of being complete or whole
2. Professionalism
a. The skill, good judgment, and polite behavior that is expected from a person who is trained to do a
job well
What integrity means to me? Integrity is being honest and fair along with being complete or whole.
Throughout my career in the military as well as in my personal life, I find integrity to be an important
trait in the way I live and hold myself. As of this time and point in my life I do not believe that I have
lost any of those things. Integrity and professionalism can go hand in hand. During my time on
deployment, being the only mine man, I have found myself working 13 plus hours on many days. A
normal work day is 0600 to 1600 but we do not see too many of those. Possessing the integrity to be at
work at 0600 to muster with someone that is not here themselves. With the long schedule I do not
complain, in turn, I provide the Navy with my strength, skills and abilities to do the best that I can.
I also have the integrity to do my job with professionalism to help my fellow I.T. sailor as much as

The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo
For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being studied as valid
and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence, African religions have often been
considered exotic objects... peculiar and incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans,
Christianity was by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom where
they seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been Catholic for six
generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in this, believing that it made them
superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the Kongolese and the Church took pride in the fact that
Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but through the
voluntary conversion of João I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more the Kongolese had
to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona Beatriz Kimpa Vita,
who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become more apparent than ever
before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at the stake, they failed in their
ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though many Europeans
wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and ancestors graves... they never
doubted that the

The Use of Symbolism in Rappaccini s Daughter
The use of Symbolism in Rappaccini s Daughter
Nathaniel Hawthorne s work is unique. His writings are full of subtle imagination, analysis, and poetic
wording. His short stories are known for their originality and for their ability to provoke the reader s
thoughts. Although a large portion of his stories are allegories, Hawthorne s preference is to draw
more heavily on symbolism (Pennell 13). His use of symbols adds depth to his stories and helps to
reveal different aspects of his characters. In Rappaccini s Daughter, Hawthorne uses symbolism to
create a modern day tale of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Although advancements in AIDS research have continued over the past 2 decades, the misconception
that people can contract the AIDS virus from sharing a drink is still prevalent. Aids is a major issue
throughout the world and kills many people. One of the problems with aids is that it can kill people. A
current solution for aids is there are medicines that people suffering from aids take and these
medicines increase a person with aids life span. A future plan for aids is to find a cure so that people

Roosevelt and Bonaparte had a main idea that the people they would hire would be based on their
effectiveness and their knowledge. Throughout its first years of service, the bureau did run into a few
problems. One of the most imperative is the run in with the Secret Service. The FBI would use agents
from the Secret Service to help them with investigations, and Bonaparte did not like this because [t]he
heart of any investigation is information (Kronenwetter 61). So, in result of this he wanted just his
men working on the investigations, Congress favored him and enabled him to begin his own force.
President Roosevelt and Attorney General Bonaparte both ended there run in the FBI in March 1909.
The FBI has investigated many cases throughout history, but some of the major ones have had to do

and more than half [their] agents worked to identify the hijackers and their sponsors and, with other
agencies, to head off any possible future attacks ( 9/11 Investigation 1). Cases like these are the ones
that demonstrate that the FBI is essentially needed. By implying [t]he United States homeland faces

Benefit Of Climate Change In Canada
The Benefits of Climate Change in Canada Climate change is widely discussed presently, especially
after a sequence of adverse impacts have been caused by it. Generally, the public are unilaterally
advised that climate change causes a series of environmental issues, for instance, global warming and
disappearing islands.Although climate change causes those negative impacts, actually, climate change
will benefit Canada in transportation, agriculture and mineral resources. Firstly, it has been argued that
climate change will damage the transportation system. Reasoning from general science, global
warming will lead to droughts, and droughts always appear together with cracks that can reduce the
quality of roads. So far, this damage to roads did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A study indicates that climate change breaks the force balance in the South American lithosphere and
results in the rising of the Andes (Lamb Paul, 2003). That being said, climate change might impact the
geological structure of the earth and result in the destruction of some resources, like oil and
groundwater. That might be so, but climate change will actually expose new resources for Canada. A
large amount of oil and gas is reserved under the Arctic and remains un extracted due to the frozen ice
cap. Some of the largest energy storages under the Canadian Arctic Archipelago will become
extractable on account of the decreasing ice coverage (Prowse et al., 2009). Referring to the benefits
of transportation and the declining ice coverage, climate change will possibly stimulate mining
explorations in the future. Accordingly, climate change will contribute to Canadian mineral resources
as well as transportation and

Susan Glaspell s Play Trifles
Susan Glaspell s play Trifles accentuates women s tendency to make use of the small details that help
shed light on the larger problem. This attention to detail unravels the bigger problem. These women
are solving a puzzle; because they use the small pieces to solve it they are able to see the bigger
picture. The men are unable to do this because they work from the big picture and try to find the small
pieces, essentially the opposite of the women. The men do not notice the women are essentially
solving the murder by trifling. Although the focus is on one main choice by Mrs. Hale and Mrs.
Peters, to tell or not to tell why Mrs. Wright killed her husband, Trifles is thematically intricate. It
emphasizes the problem of justice and more contemporary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One way Glaspell shows this is through the naming of the women. None of them have first names we
know of besides Minnie Wright who is being held for murder, which naturally follows the isolation of
women in this play by men. The women all take the last names of their husbands despite being the
major characters in the play. Male supremacy is prevalent enough for the men in this play to feel
secure enough to belittle Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale s attention to these so called trifles, which implies
that women are too fickle and small minded to have anything to contribute to the investigation at
hand. Also, upon observing the kitchen in disarray the men promptly come to the conclusion that the
woman is to blame for her housekeeping abilities because all the men know Mr. Wright is a good,
conscientious man and as a result they form an entente safeguarding John Wright s status. Due to the
cohesion of the males in this play, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale can support Mrs. Wright only if they

Faha Insured Loans Pros And Cons
Pros and Cons of FHA insured loans
Families that have low or moderate income looking for a mortgage have a lifesaver in FHA insured
loans. Loans insured by Federal Housing Administration otherwise known as FHA loans are great for
families that do not have a high income. FHA insured loans are government backed loan programs
designed to help families get new loans of their homes at extremely low costs compared to
conventional mortgage loans.
One of the major misconceptions about FHA insured loans that need to be clear is the source of the
loans. It is worth knowing that the Federal Housing Administration does not give out loans. Instead,
the agency insures loans given to borrowers by lending institutions. This insurance consequently

These drawbacks have somewhat affected borrowers demand for FHA loans. Some of these
drawbacks are as follows.
One of such disadvantages is the limits set by FHA on loan amount that can be taken by borrowers.
This measure is to ensure that the privilege is not abused by borrowers and only families that fall
within the approved income bracket benefit from the loan.
Another drawback of FHA insured loans to some people is the requirement that borrowers must reside
in the house and use it as their primary residence. This condition makes the loan not suitable for
persons that are looking to purchase a home as a vacation spot or as an investment property. The
reason for the restriction is that the loans are designed for families that are trying to get a home for
themselves.
One of the major features of getting an FHA insured loan is that borrowers need to go through an FHA
approved lending institution. However, this is only part of the process, and fortunately, there are tens
to hundreds of lending institutions approved by the Federal Housing Administration to provide
mortgage loans to

  • 2. Epicurus Vs Lucretius i. Death is something that is inevitably going to happen in everybody s lifetime. We see people get older every day and as we know we don t live eternally. But should death be feared or is it harmful? That is something that nobody can know without a doubt the answer to, but two philosophers, Epicurus and Lucretius, have built their own arguments on the common assumption that death is the total annihilation of the self. Therefore, if there is no life after death, we shouldn t fear death itself. Epicurus creates his no harm argument on the fact that after we die we no longer exist. Lucretius takes another approach where he makes a comparison using non existence before life. If we don t consider this time period before we come to life to be bad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are downfalls to Epicurus and Lucretius arguments that I think can make them debatable. It cannot be proven that after death our souls are eradicated. For example, many religions believe in life after death in some form whether it is in reincarnation or heaven. I understand that millions of people around the world believe in this for a reason and would not blindly trust in an afterlife if they didn t have a good enough reason to. In addition, there is no way to reach out to those who have already passed away to know for sure. Therefore, it seems impossible to know with certainty that death is the total annihilation of the self. This makes me doubt both philosopher s arguments because the claim that our existence is cutoff after death is what both Epicurus and Lucretius build their arguments off of. Another reason why I believe death is harmful is because it stops you from experiencing the things that make you happy in life. Epicurus states that death cannot possibly cause us harm because we stop existing in that moment. It is my belief though that by our existence coming to a halt that that itself does cause us harm. You are no longer able to be with the ones you love or do the things that you love. If we would have lived longer we would be able to experience more of the good things. We might not feel physical pain or harm after death but that doesn t mean that we aren t missing out on the things that are enjoyable in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cultural Experience Reflection Paper Cultural Experience Reflection: Spain, Healing Dirt, and Amores Perros When learning a new language, educating, experiencing, and learning about the culture behind the language is paramount. It is not simple enough to learn the vocabulary and grammar of Spanish. As a Spanish 1010 student, my learning experience has been enriched through participating in cultural events. Furthermore, I gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the language and native speakers. Over the last semester, I participated in the following three cultural experiences: traveling to Spain, attending the Healing Dirt event, and watching the movie Amores Perros. Fortunately for me, these three events covered a variety of issue areas (e.g., religious traditions, language dynamics, and machismo); additionally, each event was based in different Spanish speaking countries. Over the past summer, I traveled to Spain and was able experienced the culture and traditions of the Hispanic people for two weeks. I was struck by how language and cultural heritage played a major role in shaping the experiences of Hispanic people. The role of language plays a huge role in shaping the experiences and lives of the people living in Barcelona. In the city of Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish are the languages spoken. Furthermore, the government only provides free education to learn Catalan, not Spanish. This preservation of the Catalonian culture represents the ongoing effort of the Catalonians to gain independence from Spain. Through preserving the native Catalonian language through law and education, these Hispanic people show how they adamantly defend their heritage and place high value on preserving Catalonian culture. I recognized the respect the other Barcelonans had for the Catalonian people. Though their cultures have many fundamental differences, the non Catalonians living in Barcelona learn how to speak Catalan in order to communicate, but also to validate the integrity of their cross culture interactions. This enables an open discussion politically and socially on the issues both cultures bring to the discussion. After traveling through Spain, I was inspired by the people to learn how to speak ... Identity Identities, Identity, Identities And Identities In everyday talk to reach personal aspects of who they are, as well as group level identifications, people implement many different practices in speech to help support these identities. Identities are important because it influence how a communication interact, and shape how they communicate Category approaches treat identities as stable aspects of persons that shape how they communicate (Tracy Robles, 2013, p 20). As we have learned there are three main identities that a person tends to present during a communication situation. They are master identities, interactional identities and personal identities. The person I select is the father, who filmed the entire conversation. I find him interesting because he did not talk much but at the end the father successfully left with his son without being enforce by police. The two identities on the father I would like to analyse here is a father finished visitation and filming and a father covering his son . These two identities are conflict because the father was trying to keep out of the affair and just film anything might happen, but also wants to help his son. For convenience lets call the first identities father cameramen and second identities father daddy . I will select six discourse practices that indicate how two identities seems to be in tension with each other. First three discourse practices indicate father cameramen identities. IDENTITY : Father who finished visitation and filming DISCOURSE PRACTICE 1: Disclaiming EXAMPLE: He s not being restrained by me. I m just filming, that s all I m doing. Disclaiming are verbal devices to deflect others from assigning negative or inappropriate personal identities to self. They are conversational moves that are done at the time before a potentially problematic utterance. Disclaiming: Also disclaimers; Face threatening speech act that seeks to deflect potential criticism (Tracy Robles, 2013, p 285). Here the father wants to show that he was not the ... • 5. The Importance Of Living In A Small Town Living in a small town is an enjoyable, yet bittersweet experience. I grew up in Winnemucca, one of the smallest towns in Northern Nevada. The town is unknown to the majority of people who reside out of its state. I can certainly say that my hometown has been influential on my upbringing. However, my family has played and continues to influence me as a person. Though small, Winnemucca and my family has undoubtedly had a huge impact on my growth and has made me into the person I am today. My family is small, yet incredibly loving and caring. Though my parents have struggled and sacrificed, they have provided many things to my brother and me; they have always supported us. For me specifically, this includes giving me the gift of having a buoyant childhood. My regular day, in my childhood and throughout my teen years consisted of math problems, reading, writing, and art projects, playing games with my brother outside, basketball, hiking, volunteering, and doing activities typical small town offers. I will forever appreciate the environment I grew up in because it taught me to appreciate the little things. I craved one thing though: adventure. I am lucky enough to say I have had adventures with my family before. I have memories of my family and I going on trips to islands, our ancestral home in India, and other foreign nations/lands. Still, after all the journeys, I craved more. But as I grew up more, I concluded that if I am with my family, I will always be happy. They are my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Tone in William Wordsworth s quot; The World Is Too Much... In William Wordsworth s sonnet The World Is Too Much with Us the speaker conveys his frustration about the state in which he sees the world. Throughout the poem the speaker emphatically states his dissatisfaction with how out of touch the world has become with nature. Typical of Italian sonnets, the first eight lines of the poem establish the problems the speaker is experiencing such discontent about. Subsequently, the next line reveals a change in tone where the speaker angrily responds to the cynicism and decadence of society. Finally, the speaker offers an impossible solution to the troubles he has identified. Through each line, the tone elevates from dissatisfaction to anger in an effort to make the reader sense the significance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Disgusted, the speaker sees how society has morally degraded itself in exchange for wealth and greed. The frustrated tone of the poem becomes further elevated when the speaker exclaims, We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon! (4). Blinded by the daily drudgeries of life, people have become impervious to nature, despite some of the grand displays that one can behold. The speaker describes beautiful images of nature such as the sea, howling winds, and flowers that no longer create an emotional response in people. Since the world has become so out of touch with nature, mankind is no longer able to appreciate the drama that takes place between the wind and the moon. Additionally, the speaker claims that society has become so indifferent to nature that, Little we see in Nature that is ours; (3). Outraged by society s apathy towards nature, the speaker experiences an angry outburst as he endeavors to respond to this problem. Exclaiming, Great God! (9) the speaker unleashes his fury towards society. He is no longer merely frustrated, but enraged by the unmoved society in which he lives. In the remaining five lines of the poem the speaker alters his discourse from his disgust towards society, to providing a resolution, albeit an impossible resolution to this crisis. Rather than become indifferent to nature, the speaker would rather turn to a pagan Greek religion as a means of lessening his frustration. Since the gods are figures that are intimately ... • 8. Utilitarian Perspective On Feminism A Utilitarian Perspective on Women s Rights John Stuart Mill s discussion of the subjection of women leaves many scholars regarding him as one of the first feminist philosophers of his time. His work analyzes and questions the everyday perspectives on women s rights, and challenges common societal notions. Many philosophers today look to his work for a variety of reasons; some applaud his work for being ahead of it s time. Others dismiss it, claiming that it s flawed due to personal attachment. Both sides however regard Mill s writing as one filled with valid arguments, well developed points of interests, and recognizable inclusive nature. This essay s discussion will include the basic principles of Utilitarianism, John Stuart Mill s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As each single pursues their own pleasure, they collectively contribute to a happiness for the greater good. Though their use of avoidance of pain, they each subdue unhappiness in the overall society. This collective contribution not only betters the societies pursuit, but promotes the allowance of individuality rather than conformity to solidarity. Mill s utilitarian description provides a greater understanding for his further analysis as a philosopher; most notably in his arguments regarding women s rights. Now that his concept of Utilitarian thought is greater understood, one can begin to identify John Stuart Mill s points of discussion in his work The Subjection of Women. Mill clearly states that the current standard of living is wrong itself, and ought to be replaced by a principle of perfect equality ( Mill, 1) that does not subjugate or offer prejudice on either side. Although a somewhat unrealistic goal, Mill s philosophical analysis actually provides some extremely contextual and concise points of discussion. One major point in his argument occurs in his discussion of women s roles in history. Mill s analysis of a lack of feminine power throughout the historical context of western culture is one that is referred to by modern feminists today. His claim of female repression as a single relic of an old world of thought and practice (Mill, 12) provides tremendous proof of historical accuracy, regarding the questionable structural integrity of religiously ... • 9. The Life Of Catherine Malabou And Levi Bryant Catherine Malabou and Levi Bryant: A critical comparison of materialisms Speculative materialism arose in response to the post Kantian philosophy of correlationism. Scholars have since debated the relationship of the perceived (object) and the perceiver (subject). Kant s transcendental materialist philosophy supports what Quentin Meillassoux terms weak correlationism in that it allows for the thinking of the unknowable. However, strong correlationist (i.e. Heidegger and Hegel) refute that humans can escape their own thoughts, therefore making it impossible to know or even imagine that anything outside of the correlationist circle (objects in and of themselves) exists. Both Catherine Malabou and Levi Bryant can be seen as emphasizing speculative materialism in that they attempt to move beyond this subject object correlate. While Malabou describes neuronal plasticity in What Should We Do With Our Brain, Bryant focuses on machines and their ontology in Onto Cartography: An Ontology of Machines and Media. Malabou s ultimate description of the resistance and contradiction between the brain and mind fails to be accounted for by Bryant s ontology and conception of machines . Bryant s object oriented ontology does little to explain the origin of freedom in his machines (whereby we can begin to take charge of society); however, Bryant does suggest the use of thermopolitics to attack institutions. Together, Malabou and Bryant s philosophies provide new ways of thinking about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Fighting Back By Harold Werner Fighting Back It is well known that six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and the images of Jews being rounded up by the hundreds to be taken to concentration camps pervade what we know about the Holocaust. One might assume then that there were few acts of resistance to this inevitable fate. However, resistance took place within the ghettos throughout Europe as well as within the concentration camps. In Poland, where anti Semitism was rampant, there were organized movements of resistance which took place in the ghettos and in the forests outside of the cities. Thousands of Jews came together in what were known as partisan groups to sabotage German military operations and help other Jews to escape from the ghettos. Harold Werner was a member of one of these partisan groups who wrote a memoir entitled Fighting Back: a Memoir of Jewish Resistance in WWII. He decided to write this memoir in part as a response to his children s questions about why the Jews went like sheep to the slaughter. It was important to Werner not just to answer his children s questioning but to highlight for the world, both Jews and non Jews, the bravery displayed by the thousands of Jews who fought for their own lives and for the lives of other Jews. Werner s memoir is important for this generation and those that follow to help us understand that there were thousands of Jewish citizens who fought against the cruelty of the Nazis. • 12. Mark Twain Analysis Education may be conveyed in many formats, such as classrooms, laboratories, and books. Teachers instruct within the classroom, while researchers and scientist utilize a laboratory setting for instruction and education, while other forms of education derive from authors who communicate by the written word. One well known author and educator is Samuel L. Clemens, more commonly known as Mark Twain. Twain was born in Florida, Missouri on November 30, 1835 and utilized his childhood and adolescent experiences as a method of education. Mark Twain is powerfully depicted as an unconventional educator through his books, literature, and personal quotes. Through some of Mark Twain s books he captures much of the history in which he lived. One of the books that he has written is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which is based upon his memories from when he lived in Missouri (Twain, 1876). The adventures that he wrote about in this particular book actually took place in history, giving us an insight into what it was like to live in that time period. Another book that gave several details on the history in the 19th century was The Prince and the Pauper, because instead of giving insight on a personal experience, it gave insight on the class relations in which people were separated during that time (Twain, 1881). This insight gave us knowledge on how the people were categorized by their job titles. He shows the differences between the classes by writing about two young boys that switch ... People are asked this question everyday, usually towards food shoppers, and it s the average person s job to make an environmentally conscious decision upon which most are not educationally aware enough to do so. Although many have decided that paper versus plastic war has a simple solution, there are a majority of things that need to be taken into consideration from both sides in order to make the best educated and environmentally sound choice. The FBI would use agents from the Secret Service to help them with investigations, and Bonaparte did not like this because [t]he heart of any investigation is information (Kronenwetter 61). So, in result of this he wanted just his men working on the investigations, Congress favored him and enabled him to begin his own force. President Roosevelt and Attorney General Bonaparte both ended there run in the FBI in March 1909. The FBI has investigated many cases throughout history, but some of the major ones have had to do with terrorism, such as Al Qaeda or 9/11. The 9/11 case was worked on incredibly hard by the FBI, and more than half [their] agents worked to identify the hijackers and their sponsors and, with other agencies, to head off any possible future attacks ( 9/11 Investigation 1). Cases like these are the ones that demonstrate that the FBI is essentially needed. That being said, climate change might impact the geological structure of the earth and result in the destruction of some resources, like oil and groundwater. That might be so, but climate change will actually expose new resources for Canada. A large amount of oil and gas is reserved under the Arctic and remains un extracted due to the frozen ice cap. Some of the largest energy storages under the Canadian Arctic Archipelago will become extractable on account of the decreasing ice coverage (Prowse et al., 2009). Referring to the benefits of transportation and the declining ice coverage, climate change will possibly stimulate mining explorations in the future. Accordingly, climate change will contribute to Canadian mineral resources as well as transportation and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Susan Glaspell s Play Trifles Susan Glaspell s play Trifles accentuates women s tendency to make use of the small details that help shed light on the larger problem. This attention to detail unravels the bigger problem. These women are solving a puzzle; because they use the small pieces to solve it they are able to see the bigger picture. The men are unable to do this because they work from the big picture and try to find the small pieces, essentially the opposite of the women. The men do not notice the women are essentially solving the murder by trifling. Although the focus is on one main choice by Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, to tell or not to tell why Mrs. Wright killed her husband, Trifles is thematically intricate. It emphasizes the problem of justice and more contemporary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One way Glaspell shows this is through the naming of the women. None of them have first names we know of besides Minnie Wright who is being held for murder, which naturally follows the isolation of women in this play by men. The women all take the last names of their husbands despite being the major characters in the play. Male supremacy is prevalent enough for the men in this play to feel secure enough to belittle Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale s attention to these so called trifles, which implies that women are too fickle and small minded to have anything to contribute to the investigation at hand. Also, upon observing the kitchen in disarray the men promptly come to the conclusion that the woman is to blame for her housekeeping abilities because all the men know Mr. Wright is a good, conscientious man and as a result they form an entente safeguarding John Wright s status. Due to the cohesion of the males in this play, Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale can support Mrs. Wright only if they collaborate with their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These drawbacks have somewhat affected borrowers demand for FHA loans. Some of these drawbacks are as follows. One of such disadvantages is the limits set by FHA on loan amount that can be taken by borrowers. This measure is to ensure that the privilege is not abused by borrowers and only families that fall within the approved income bracket benefit from the loan. Another drawback of FHA insured loans to some people is the requirement that borrowers must reside in the house and use it as their primary residence. This condition makes the loan not suitable for persons that are looking to purchase a home as a vacation spot or as an investment property. The reason for the restriction is that the loans are designed for families that are trying to get a home for themselves.
