Acute mesenteric ischemia is a life-threatening condition caused by reduced blood flow to the intestines. It can be caused by embolism, thrombosis, nonocclusive mesenteric ischemia, or mesenteric vein thrombosis. Diagnosis is challenging as symptoms are often vague, but a high index of suspicion is needed in patients with severe abdominal pain out of proportion to exam findings. Investigations like bloodwork, CT, and angiography can help identify the cause. Prompt treatment such as revascularization or thrombolysis is needed to reduce high mortality rates.

Ischemic colitis is the most common form of intestinal ischemia. It manifests as a spectrum of injury from transient self-limited ischemia involving the mucosa and submucosa to acute fulminant ischemia with transmural infarction that may progress to necrosis and death. Although there are a variety of causes, the most common mechanism is an acute, self-limited compromise in intestinal blood flow.
in this presentation me & my colleagues discuss briefly the types of mesenteric ischemia ( acute , chronic , venous ) and its related syndromes (superior mesenteric artery syndrome , celiac trunk syndrome and supply it by good radiologic images ..

Vascular disease is a condition that develops when the arteries that supply the intestines with blood become narrowed due to the build-up of plaque. This results in a lack of blood supply to the intestines.
the presention about abdominal pain and it s different cause we talking briefly about medical and surgical causes
and the presention mainly about the vascular causes for abdominal pain
i hope its helpful for you

• Dear Viewers,
• Greetings from “Surgical Educator”
• Today I have uploaded a video on Mesenteric Ischemia- a didactic lecture.
• It is one of the uncommon but life-threatening surgical problems you see in surgical wards.
• I have discussed the various causes for Generalised Abdominal Pain, epidemiology, etiology, pathology, clinical features, investigations, and treatment of Mesenteric Ischemia.
• I have also included a mind map and a treatment algorithm for Mesenteric Ischemia.
• I hope the video will be very useful and you will enjoy it.
• You can watch all my surgical teaching videos in the following link:

• Thank you for watching the video.
