INTRODUCTION
 The main purpose behind the implementation of the Accident
prevention is to minimize the road accidents which causes the
loss of valuable human life and other valuable goods.
 Accident Prevention And Detection System(APDS) save lives
by reducing the time required for emergency responders to
arrive.
 We are developing one Android application which will help to
reduces percentage of accident .
 It is based on GPS(Global Positioning System).
PURPOSE OF SYSTEM
 To prevent the accident
 Detect the current location if accident occurs.
 GPS provide us one function known as “DIGTAL SPEDDOMETER”.
 This Application contains two modules :-
1. Prevention
2. Detection.
 It is a Alert system which is used to give alert to the family and medical
services after a Accident.
Survey on Accident
 Accidents are a leading cause of death:-
• Over 1,37,000 people were killed in road accidents in 2013 alone,
that is more than the number of people killed in all our wars put
together
• 16 children die on Indian roads daily.
• 5 lives end on Delhi’s roads everyday.
• There is one death every four minutes due to a road accident in
India.

 It works on Kit-Kat (4.0) and above android version.
 Display size of mobile is above 4 inches.
 User must have to install APDS in their Android Smart Phone.
 User must have to enables their GPS.
 User must have to enables their internet connection.

Previous Application
 CLICK AND SOLVE:-
 In the current state one application is available which is
somewhat similar to our application which is “click and solve”.
 In this application if our Accident happens then the people can
click photos and post them on the app so that the photos will be
shared further by application to the nearby hospitals so that the
people would get the treatment.
 But here we have to depend on other people and it is a little time
consuming one.
What is a Digital Speedometer
Application?
 It is one android application which is easily available in the market.
 It displays the current speed of vehicle by using GPS .
 It gives values in the form of Seven Segment Display.
 It is so accurate and it nearby gives 99.99% accurate result .
How it works?
 It is a GPS based application.
 GPS will be allocating one value to every location.
 As we travel from one location to another the GPS knows where we are
travelling by the allocated value.
 That means value of location will be changed as we travel from one
location to the other.
 Digital speedometer calculates the change in location with respective to
time.

Concept & Working of APDS
 User first of all will have to install the APDS Application
on their Android Smart Phone.
• Then one Registration window will be popup where user have to
enter their Name, Phone Number, Email id, Blood Group.
CALCULATION
 The Next part is calculating current Speed of vehicle using
Digital Speedometer.
Comparing
• Then current speed of vehicle is compare with maximum speed of
vehicle
Alert
 If Current speed of vehicle is equal to or more than Maximum Speed
enter by the user then alarm will be blown using the application.
 Alarm contains continues vibration with voice message “Slow down
the Speed”.
Ignore Alert
 If user ignore this alert, then message will be send
to users registered contacts.
Detection & Messaging
 This was all about prevention. In Detection part sudden fall in speed will
be observed and also it will be calculated.
 After detection of sudden fall the application sends message to registered
numbers of the user and search near by hospitals and inform them.
Cancel Messaging Part
 Many time sudden fall in speed occurs due to some
reasons. Then we provide cancel option for them.

Disadvantages
 Application doesn't support offline function.
 GPS doesn't works.
CONCLUSION
 In the present world the percentage of accident has increased so widely
because people were not helping when accident occurs even if the person
is fallen in front of their eyes. After development of ADPS system in
future if accident of person is happened he would not have to depend on
other people for help one more advantage will be that , by using this
application the location of nearby hospitals be acknowledged to the user
and message will be send to nearby hospital.
