King Kong Comparison Essay
The original 1933 King Kong was created as a movie: to convey a story and entertain and audience.
Peter Jackson s 2005 remake took the foundation for King Kong and expanded upon it in almost every
way in order to make again the amazement of the original for a modern audience. Audiences received
the original King Kong very well. The stop motion sequences of Kong were amazing for their time
and the movie grossed $90,000 in its opening weekend. In order to bank upon its success again
sequels were made and then in 1976 a remake was made to improve upon the original. Paramount
updated the movie to color, changed the story, and cast Jeff Bridges, a well known actor of the time, as
the lead. Although the movie received mixed reviews, it did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While Jackson s remake is true to the original for the most part, there are some small changes made in
order to make the movie more appealing. In the original King Kong it is the lead actor in the movie
that saves the damsel in distress but in the 2005 remake it is the scriptwriter that saves the female
actress. This change is likely due to the recent trend of heroes coming from unlikely places. Studios
know that if a movie does well the first time, it is likely to do well the second time and even the third
time. King Kong is no exception. Producers can presume that the glory of the original will pass on to
the remake since audiences hope for that feeling again. Whether the movie is better or not doesn t
matter. Audiences will go to see King Kong over the years because the remakes are associated with
the original. Every King Kong remake is based on the same principles: wanting to create a movie that
will capture audiences and instill in them a sense of wonderment and awe. The original did this and
the remakes try to do it again. Directors, producers, and studios may change the story, update the
actors and technology but they are essentially just trying to cash in on the success of the original. Take
a good idea, update it, and reap the benefits again and

Kazuo Stevens Ambition
In Kazuo Ishiguro s Remains of the Day, Mr. Stevens sole ambition in life is to become one of the
greatest servicemen of his time. To attain the reputation he desires, Stevens believes that he must carry
himself with dignity , which the gentleman defines as a butler s ability not to abandon the professional
being he inhabits. Stevens must exhibit no sentiment as his humanity may interfere with the quality of
his service. His belief is that his service level especially how well he polishes the silverware directly
affects his employer s business and guests. Since the most powerful men in Europe visit the mansion,
Stevens believes in his younger years that he would play a role in the reconstruction of Europe
through keeping these men content.

From 1975 To 1979 Pol Pot Was The Leader Of The Khmer Rouge
From 1975 to 1979 Pol Pot, the leader of the Khmer Rouge regime, had a goal to create a society that
was completely self sufficient. In four years the Khmer Rouge killed, tortured and starved to death
somewhere between 1.7 and 2 million innocent Cambodian civilians, ultimately destroying any trace
of humanity within Cambodia. Forty years later the people of Cambodia are still suffering and the
country is still trying to put the pieces back together, both physically and emotionally.
When visiting the killing fields, where approximately 1.4 million people were taken to be executed, I
was listening to a tape recording and in it, one of the speakers said During the Khmer Rouge, life had

Electronic Patient Information System
The purpose of the report is to discuss and decide on what EHR system would be best suited for the
overall office staff, from the physician to the medical assistant, in entering pertinent information in the
patient s electronic chart. The data that needs to be collected, sorted and retrieved fall into three
categories: Personal patient information, administrative and billing data, and patient demographics.
Office visit medical data, Progress notes, Vital signs, Medical histories, Diagnoses, Medications,
Immunization dates, and Allergies. Data from diagnostic tests, medical lab results and medical test
results as well. ( What information does an electronic health record (EHR) contain? 2013)
The first decision that needed to be made is whether the office would use an in office system or use a
cloud based remote data system. There are five main components to any electronic health record
system, whether it is a cloud based or in office based system that would have to be taken into
consideration as an office and include each provider personal preference. These ... Show more content

Praxis is a unique system that does not rely on templates but instead utilizes an artificial intelligence
program that learns from each users style and charting style. Office staff charts their way using their

improves charting based on each users documentation. The advantage to this type of program is that
there are no limitations and no drop down boxes to pick. The Praxis system offers a comprehensive
EHR that is completely template free and can be fully customized to meet the physician s individual

Phobias Essay
Phobias
Phobias are a very common disorder in the United States these days. The definition for phobia is
quot;an abnormal or morbid fear or aversion quot; ( quot;Oxford quot; 655). To be considered a
phobia, a fear must cause great distress or interfere with a person amp;#8217;s life in a major way.
The word phobia is Greek, therefore, any word that proceeds it should be Greek too. To coin a new
phobia name, it is proper and only accepted to follow this rule. The rule has been broken many times
in the past, especially by the medical profession. The medical profession is steeped in Latin and many
times when forming a name for phobia, they use Latin.
There are three kinds of phobias: simple phobia, social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A tendency towards phobias, especially panic attacks, may run in families. Genes appear to play a role
in all cases of phobias. A person has three times the risk of developing a phobia if a close relative
suffers from one. (Wood 516). From the phsycodynamic perspective, people develop phobias
primarily as a defense against the anxiety they feel when sexual or aggressive impulses threaten to
break into consciousness. If the anxiety can be displaced onto a feared object and if that object can be
avoided, then there is less chance that the disturbing impulse will break through.
Phobias may be acquired through observational learning, as well. For example, children who hear
their parents talking about frightening experience with the dentist, with bugs or thunder storms may
develop similar fears themselves. Frightening experiences set the stage for phobias, yet not all phobias
recall the experience producing the phobia. For example, if a person was humiliated by performing in
front of others, they may develop a social phobia.
Social phobia is the third largest medical problem in the world. According to the National Institute of
Mental Health, (NIMH), social phobia is quot;a disorder characterized by overwhelming anxiety and
excessive self consciousness in social situations. quot; Social phobia is defined quot;as people
intensely afraid of any social or performance situation in

Spanish Conquest Essay
Spanish Conquest of the Aztecs Have you ever about ripping out a human s still beating heart? If not,
you would not fit in with the Aztecs. The Aztecs were a Mesoamerican Empire that rose in power in
the post classic period. From the 1300 s 1521, the Aztecs continued to increase their population and
their influence in the Mesoamerican region, despite the upcoming nearby empires, such as the
Tlaxcalan empire. This all changed with the arrival of the Spaniard, Hernan Cortez. Cortez was a
Spanish conquistador under the rule of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. Cortez contributed for the
downfall of many empires, including the Aztecs. Even though conquering was not a part of the
Catholics religion. The ancient Aztecs followed their religious beliefs more closely than did the
Spanish Catholic Hernan Cortez. Unlike the Spanish,
The Aztecs believed that there were many gods that contributed to everyday life patron god,
Huitzilopochtli, communicated to the Aztec priest, Motecuhzuma, that it was time to migrate to

Cortez only had about 500 men who followed him. And he knew that the Aztecs had hundreds of
thousands of soldiers at their disposal. So, Cortez invaded outside villages and forced men to join him.
If they refused he would kill them and their family. Displaying how little the Catholic law means to
him. Because in the bible, one of the first laws given was thou shalt not kill. Cortez did exactly what

History, Mission And Philosophy Of The Organization
History, Mission and Philosophy of the Organization or Board of Directors: The Association of
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses was established in 2006, but was not always known as
APHON. Before the title APHON, it used to be just APON because hematology was not included
when it was first founded in 1974. APON was established in 1974 when Oncology nurses decided that
they needed to have their own association to discuses their research and outcomes with other
Oncology nurses from around the United States. As their organization grew they realized that blood
disorders played a major role in cancer, thus creating the title we know of today as APHON. APHON s
mission is to not only to assist and excel Hem/Onc nurses, but also to help amplify the opportunistic
outcomes of their adolescent patients. APHON s vision to be overall recognized as the prime leader in
hematology/oncology nursing from their infants all the way up to their young adults is what keeps
them reaching for success everyday. President or other Governing Information: APHON s 2015 2017
presidency winner, who has also been a APHON member since 1989, is Kathleen Ruccione. Ruccione
has been the president for almost a year now and says to have enjoyed every bit of it. Ruccione has

Pros And Cons Of Plastic Water Bottles
United States is the leading country on a global scale that produces and consumes millions of gallons
of water annually. Oil, a limited and expensive resource, is used in the process of creating
polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic water bottles which is generally regarded as a safe and
recyclable packaging material. (Palliser, 2010) The process of manufacturing bottled water to meet the
United States demand uses more than 17 million barrels of oil annually. (Ban the Bottle, 2014) The
following examples will help to visualize how much of valuable, natural resources are used: in a year,
the energy used to produce bottled water is enough to power 190,000 homes and the millions of
barrels of oil used is enough to fuel 1.3 million cars. (Ban ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a four year, detailed investigation to evaluate the quality and safety of bottled water
conducted by an environmental advocacy group, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC),
traces of various chemicals (THMs such as chloroform and BDCM, both probable human
carcinogens) and arsenic were discovered in high levels. Another chemical found in PET plastic
bottles is antimony that is harmless in small doses but in larger doses can cause nausea, vomiting, and
death. (Ban the Bottle, 2014) A senior scientist at the NRDC, Dr. Gina Solomon told The New York
Times that there is no reason to believe that bottled water is safer than tap water. (Ban the Bottle,
2014) Public water in the U.S. is heavily regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
because they require numerous tests for bacteria daily which are available to the public. The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) regulates bottled water and only require tests on a weekly basis and does
not share their discoveries with neither the public nor EPA. (Ban the Bottle,

The Impact Of Spatial Abilities On The Creative Song...
spatial abilities are related to more left handedness, which indicates the activeness of right
hemisphere, as measured (p.352). It is also predicted that right hemisphere is in charge of 3 D mental
rotation imagination process (Reio, Czarnolewski and Eliot, 2001, p.352). With better ability to
perform spatial imagination, left handers are surely good at mathematics in the geometry aspect.
Being aided by the right hemisphere in creative thinking, left handed people are also more talented in
musical ability. A survey of 51 professional orchestras in Britain reported that 13% of the musicians
were left handed, slightly, but not hugely, above the national average, which is 10% (Right, Left,
Right, Wrong, n.d.). Many song writers and composers are known to be left handed such as
Beethoven, Mozart, Phil Collins and Paul Simon. The strong inter hemispheric communication is also
an aspect of their creative song writing and composing. The research reported here was motivated by
evidence that some musical abilities are like spatial functions in that they appear to be more dependent
on the right than the left hemisphere (Milner, 1962; Kimura, 1967). Two of the most creative
individuals in history have been Albert Einstein, an early slow learner who exhibited an an unusual
symmetry between the hemispheres (Witelson, Kigar, Harvey, 1999, p. 2151), and Leonardo da Vinci,
who habitually wrote left handed in mirror writing. Their lateral preference could be related to their
achievement

Graffiti is writing or drawings that have been scribbled,...
Graffiti is writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or
other surface, often in a public place.Graffiti ranges from simple written words to larger wall
paintings, and it has existed since ancient times, with examples going back to Ancient Egypt, Ancient
Greece, and the Roman Empire. Graffiti is a worldwide situation that has a never ending debate to it,
is it art or vandalism? To be honest I think graffiti is a form of art because it is a way to express
peoples feelings, it can give out good messages for everyone to see, and in my opinion these kids are

There are kids out there living on the streets that just want to express what they are feeling, they love
it and want to share it but the only place they feel like doing that is on the streets, for everyone to see
and where they grew up. d my opinion there s kids out there who have talent better than some artists
for that matter and are these kids are not being recognized for it because people have this vision in
their heads that graffiti is a crime. Instead of being recognised and paid for their work they are getting
arrested. Although In my opinion i believe graffiti is a form of art, it is attractive to the eye and it has a
meaning to it. Graffiti is a form of self expression and, I think that self expression is a form of art.
Some artists paint on canvas while others paint on buildings, either way it is still someone s creativity
at work. There is much worse going on in the world that people should be worrying about more than
graffiti, but yes, technically it is vandalism, but it doesn t harm anyone in any way.
The main con about graffiti is that it can open the door to other crimes such as burglary and assault .
Another negative point about graffiti is that it is often used for gangs to mark their territory. When
another gang or random person covers up the old graffiti with their own, it can start tention between
each other, which would obviously turn

Recommendation Report On The Best Nursing Career
Date: April 2, 2015 To: From: Subject: RECOMMENDATION REPORT ON THE BEST NURSING
CAREER FOR HEALTH AND SCIENCE GRADUATES INTRODUCTION As per your request, I
am submitting this report that shows that I have identified being a registered nurse (RN) as the best
career option in the field of nursing. This report focuses on how graduating students in this program
can determine which career/job option would be best suited for them. I have concluded my report
based on the comparison of four main criteria, which include the requirements, salary, security and
working condition. I was able to collect the data for my report through online research as well as
research from textbooks and library. I have also included an action plan for students so that they can
easily work to choose between the various job options available to them. BACKGROUND The
nursing industry is a very important industry and it forms one of the most important aspects of the
overall health care industry. It has to be noted that nurses provide some very important support
functions for the doctors and physicians and they are also very important in dealing with various types
of patients. In Canada, nursing is a very lucrative career, mostly because there is an acute shortage of
nurses. Some of the reasons include that nursing can be a very demanding job in which the nurses
have to work for long hours and they are exposed to a lot of stresses on the job, which is why many
nurses tend to quit their jobs. There is also

Mob s Target Nicely Conveys The Premise Of This Crime...
The title MOB S TARGET nicely conveys the premise of this crime thriller. The plot focuses on an
insecure and fearful accountant who testifies against a major mobster, sending him to prison. The mob
wants revenge and she s the target. She enters a Witness Protection program, but an enforcer tracks her
down.
The goal of survival is clear and the stakes are life and death. There are several themes incorporated
into the script about trust, revenge, justice, survival, and second chances.
The script also poses some intriguing moral questions, especially for the police chief Joe. He has to
struggle with the moral argument of family vs. justice. He clearly has a moral dilemma.
With that said, this is a plotline that has been done before, but ... Show more content on

The plot also offers another coincidence with the idea that Megan s father was murdered and that
Brown investigated it. Again, too many coincidences cause one to question the credibility of the plot.
In this case, it s not clear how Megan s dad being murdered is relevant, or how it connects to the
plotline. The backstory is left dangling for the audience. It s a serious backstory to have a parent
murdered; yet there s no payoff for the reveal.
Normally, a backstory has some emotional affect on the current storyline. For example, if Megan were
home when her dad was killed and she was unable to protect and save him, then this could be a
relevant inner conflict for her. She could carry the guilt about her father and now she has to learn to
protect herself. Or in another example, if Megan were home when her dad was murdered, maybe she
saw the killer and now years later he reappears. Regardless, the idea of the connection to Brown isn t
clear and it s suggested to eliminate this connection unless there s a solid link to the present day
storyline and the past.
The opening sets the tone for a mobster story. It establishes that Nick is deadly. However, the scene isn
t as tense or suspenseful as it could be. One reason for this is that the audience isn t emotionally
invested in the owner of the bookshop and the dialogue and action doesn t create compelling enough
tension.
The other concern about the tone is that, in

Class Structure In College Campuses
In the 2001 Reese Witherspoon classic Legally Blonde, Elle Woods, a typical blonde sorority girl,
declares Everybody likes me ! This mindset follows sororities and fraternities as they typically occupy
the top of the class structure in colleges everywhere, simultaneously mirroring the American class
structure. White, upper class men and women take to greek life in order to fraternize with people like
them, or their brothers and sisters . The University of Richmond simultaneously incorporates this
concept, as greek life students are more revered and typically more sociable, and popular than non
affiliated students. The class structure in college campuses, revolving around greek life, simulates that
of the outside world, and places rich, white students into the elitist upper class of college life. The
University of Richmond s sororities and fraternities have a financial commitment to join. Students
must pay dues to join, and unlike UR, campuses with special greek housing have to pay extra to live
with their brothers or sisters. For students on financial aid or taking student loans, greek dues may be
too expensive, which inhibits that student from joining and reaping the benefits, social or professional.

which the rich white typically take the upper class and the poor minorities take up the lower class.

Teenage Girls
As a matter of fact, teenage girls are not the only ones who fall victim to the ideal of beauty. Teenage
boys are going through very similar situations. Media and advertisements set their standards for men
to be tall, muscular, board upper body, v line and have beards etc. Neither males nor females live
without having standards set up for them by society and media. Widely held perceptions of beauty and
perfection can have a deep and lasting cultural impact on both women and men. Some impact is that
these standards will continue to exist in our future culture and both genders will never feel
comfortable in their own skin/body. Both men and women would continue to judge themselves and
their beauty. Magazines and advertisements usually have images of men without their shirts in order to
show off their muscles and to attract customers. This makes members of society expect to see a six
pack,v line and pectorals when a male takes off their shirt. This gives teenage boys fear to take off
their shirt when going to the beach or smaller situations like going inside a pool because they are
scared to be criticized for not being muscular. Magazines display images of these fake models for both
men and women which creates intimidation. Study of mass media magazines discovered that women s
magazines had 10.5 times more advertisements and articles promoting weight loss than men s
magazines did (as cited in Guillen Barr.1944). The ideal of beauty targets women more than men. In

The Political Economy Of Gender
Over the past century, women in numerous dissimilar cultures have become increasingly agitated at
the value placed by the government in promoting traditional patriarchal lifestyles. This focus on men
being the breadwinners of their family outside of the house so that it becomes difficult for women to
succeed outside domestic life is a spark of controversy. In many cases, it has led to an intense
examination of policy changes, or lack thereof, by governments in response to a collective women s
voice within their respective countries, in their quest for equality in the home and workplace.
Responses to gender gap problems don t have the same solutions around the world however. Through
the The Political Economy of Gender by Iversen and Rosenbluth the effect modern movements have
on women s beliefs can be examined through Albert Hirschman s ideas of voice and exit and further
applied to situations such as those examined in Exit, voice, and family policy in Japan by Leonard
Schoppa. In The Political Economy of Gender Iversen and Rosenbluth provide background on the
economic outlook of what the gender gap means both economically and socially. What is fascinating
about this is the evolution of economic models in dealing with the division of labor they explore.
Initial models on the topic such as Becker s focused on the male dominated family of the 1950s to
actually reinforce why men should make more money than women. While this seems archaic in its
roots, I would argue

Bible Verses On Forgiveness In Marriage
Bible verses on Forgiveness in marriage
The biblical perspective of forgiveness in marriage correlates with forgiveness in all relations. The
incorporation of spiritual angle of forgiveness allows married couples to have faith in marriage
restoration. The Christian principles advocate for forgiveness because of its negative effects stated in
Galatians 5:19 (acts of sinful nature). Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are the
positive results of forgiveness. They include: love, peace patience, faithfulness, humility, kindness,
joy, gentleness, and self control.
The bible states that forgiveness is the power of the Holy Spirit for it draws love. In marriage, prayer
is a powerful tool of intercession between Christ our father (God). The example of how to pray in our
Lord prayer in Mathew 6:1 states ....Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us

who are we to hold grudge with our spouses?

Women Are Over Sexualised In The Music Industry Essay
Discussion
To find out whether people believe that women are being commodified in the music industry or not I
created a questionnaire. I asked an equal amount of men and women to get an even opinion from both
genders. The questionnaire had five questions that were:
1. What is your gender?
2. What would you prefer in a music video?
3. When watching a music video, what do you focus on more?
4. Do you think women are over sexualised in the music industry?
5. Do you think men are over sexualised in the music industry?
From conducting the questionnaire I can conclude that 95% of the people I asked believed that women
were being oversexualised. When watching a music video they focused more on the song and
choreography, than how attractive the people in the music video were. The results from the
questionnaire suggest that most people aren t superficial when it comes to the music industry, however

Benefits Of Going Into The Workforce
When one chooses to go to college, they are investing in their future career. Once a young adult leaves
high school they have a choice to either go to college or to go into the workforce. When deciding
which path they will take, they must look at both the benefits and disadvantages. The advantage to
going straight into the workforce is being able to immediately start their profession of choice and do
not have to pay off expensive college loans. The disadvantage to going straight into the workforce is
the fact that in today s job market, there are not many high paying jobs that do not require a degree.
However, the benefit of going to college is that careers that require a college degree are often high
paying and come with worker s benefits. College affords the student to develop and master academic
and social skills. Companies and employers are not willing to invest time and money into prospects
without those skills or a formal education. The disadvantage to going to college is brought upon
because college tuition has doubled in the past ten years, which makes college unaffordable without
being overwhelmed by student loans for the rest of one s life (Graff 179). The differences between
these two paths make the decision to go to college one of the most influential decisions of an
individual s entire life. Each of these paths have their advantages and disadvantages, but in the long
run, going to college is more beneficial than going straight into the workforce. Even if one

Insect Preservation In Amber
Insect preservation in Amber
Tree resin has helped entomologist piece together the history of insects. First occurring during the
Triassic, coniferous trees produced tremendous amounts of resin to protect against attack by pests and
other parasites. The sticky sap like substance would trap organisms that came in contact and
eventually engulf them. Over time, the tree resin fossilized and became amber, preserving the trapped
life form inside. The encasing of the organism allowed for its preservation (Penny et al. 2013). Pieces
of amber show a moment frozen in time and let entomologist witness ancient insects and give a
screenshot of their behavior. Therefore, entomology has been able to utilize the amber to study the

After her eggs had hatched, she continued to carry her young in a brood chamber on the underside of
her belly. The chamber is made by horizontal projection coming off her thoracic legs, and her young
would have stayed there until they could fend for themselves (Boucot Poinar 2010). Today, isopods
demonstrate the same maternal care, but without the preservation of amber, the similar behavior would
not have been known. Money grasshoppers are another example of a similar behavior caught in amber.
These specimens are among the rarest insects to be found in amber. This grasshopper is mobile in the
treetop region of a forest but tends to rest in small patches of sunlight down in the shrub. When resting
in the bushes, the grasshoppers cross their hind legs. This is a way for the grasshoppers to avoid
predators. The hind legs resemble two crossing stems, allowing the grasshoppers to blend in amongst
the shrubs. Some grasshoppers have been found preserved in this position (Poinar Poinar 1999).
Grasshoppers have been using their hind legs for camouflage for millions of years. Which implies, the
technique must help them avoid predation. Isopods continue to take care of their young and have yet
to become extinct. These methods have been successful and will probably still be successful until
something drastically and suddenly

Policies and Politics of Government in Charge of a Public...
Policies and Politics of Government in Change of a Public Agency:
Government policy can be described as the declaration that defines the objective of the priorities and
goals of the government. Since these policies outline the rules, role, and procedures, they develop a
framework in which the government and its citizens can carry out their specific duties. The public
policies are created by all governmental levels and target the entire population or particular groups.
The process of developing these policies involves the engagement of governmental officials and
citizens. On the other hand, politics of government provide the platform for the development,
establishment, and implementation of public policy. Therefore, the politics of government are the
platform with which public policies are adopted and implemented. Governmental policies and politics
play a critical role in the realization of change in a public agency since the policies are developed and
implemented at various levels (Dukeshire Thurlow, 2002). Since these policies may range from formal
regulations and legislation to informal guidelines in an agency, understanding them is important in the
achievement of change in a public agency. A Public agency basically functions based on the
established policies and politics in the government. Therefore, the accomplishment of the change in a
public agency requires an increased understanding of the politics and policies of government. It s

Evaluation Of A Prototype Model
A prototype can be defined as a representative example of a given category [1]. A prototype model can
be viewed as a rudimentary working model of a product or information system, used to test or prove a
concept or a process. A prototype of an Information System can be viewed as a draft version of the
system that allows stakeholders to explore system features and test the overall system before
dedicating resources for the development of the full scale system.
Prototyping is an iterative process. A high level view of the process allows us to identify the following
4 steps that form the crux of the prototyping approach:
Figure 1: Prototype Design Process
1. Identify Content Based on the needs of the stakeholders, information is gathered about the features
that a system should possess.
2. Build Prototype Using the information, a prototype is then created to gain an understanding of the
system.
3. Review Prototype The prototype is reviewed for errors and flaws and suitability to the stakeholders
needs. If it does not align with the testing standards, the process is reiterated until a satisfactory model
is created.
4. Freeze Design Once all stakeholders and designers are satisfied, the prototype model is finalized
and no new changes are incorporated into the model.

Veteran s today face many challenges as they seek civilian jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics 2014 report more than 190,000 of the 2.8 million Gulf War II Veterans cannot find work,
USMAP could help resolve this issue (Watson, 2014). Senior Enlisted Leaders need to understand the
advantages USMAP in order to provide transitioning service members from active duty to civilian life.
This paper will provide the background information, discussion, and recommendation for the
increased use of USMAP.
Background Information
Veteran unemployment is an ever increasing issue for service members departing from active duty.
USMAP established as a formal military training program in 1999 through the consolidation of the
U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Naval apprenticeship programs, and the U.S. Coast Guard apprenticeship
programs in 2007, the program supplies service members with certification as Journey Workers per
standards of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in specific occupational fields. USMAP could
seriously assist in reducing the number of unemployed veterans. With the background information
provided, the discussion will provide further information.

participants receive a nationally recognized Completion Certificate to help attract employers when a
service member returns to the civilian workforce (Aleshire, 2012). A current trend in USMAP shows
an increase in personnel registering in the program, however due to current deployments and

Police Accountability Essay
This essay will describe the mechanisms by which the British Police are held to account, and will
touch upon the paradox of police governance, the balance of unwanted coercion of police, financial
stewardship and police legitimacy. This essay will also divulge into a discussion on the topic; is
policing political? There will be an argument for and against, and the advantages and disadvantages to
both sides will be conversed to achieve an accurate conclusion. In addition this essay will start by
portraying the significance of Police Accountability.
Police Accountability in both England and Wales, became a national political issue throughout the
1980 s, the issues mainly alarmed those who had power over the police, who ought to manage them
and whether they were beyond democratic control. However, in recent years these issues have lost
some of their debate and accountability now focus on police effectiveness and police performance.
The police are to follow the rule of law and legislation (legislation is where powers of police are
derived) and are subordinated to the law. Police also have allegiance to the crown, which serves as an
alternative to the state, as a central organizing principle of government. The model known as the
tripartite system (shown below) conveys police accountability and is the essential basis of police
governance. It is established under the 1964 Police Act.
The tripartite system evenly distributes responsibilities between the following:

Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature
The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and women have
designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures
beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and
women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic
pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty
does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather
focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There
are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone
beautiful . The explanation for the perception of beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a
biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe
to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on
human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular,
facial beauty of a female or a male is important because the one weapon men and women have to
fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be
perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013).

Taking a Look at Maritime Security
Maritime security is an extremely broad area of concern. It covers everything terrorism, the physical
security of ports and ships right through to the security of energy resources into the future.
Introduction:
The Indian Ocean Region (IOR) is a significant and strategic locality within the 21st century. It is
important to a number of countries, including many key players of the region. The large waters of the
IOR make it a strategic thoroughfare for international sea lanes as part of global maritime trade and
sea commerce. This will create various maritime boundaries, disputes and choke points, which is an
important security challenge of the IOR. The IOR is a vast energy and resource filled environment,
which makes it a security challenge for competing states. Another security concern within the IOR is
that of asymmetrical threats. These threats will target the energy/resource sector as well as the various
vessels that cross the IOR. Crime, including that of piracy, human trafficking and smuggling is an
imperative issue that regularly occurs within the IOR. These are the principal maritime security
challenges in the IOR and provide all states, which operate in the region, a difficult task in countering
these issues.
Maritime Boundaries/ Disputes:
The large and vast nature of the IOR makes it a given medium in which conflict occurs.
Approximately 42% of the world s conflicts, can be linked to countries within the IOR. Some of these
conflicts include the Middle East

What Is Stretching Essay
Benefits of Stretching
The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You must be able to bend and reach that something
you dropped on the floor. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on your own. You
must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf. These are simple activities. Nothing
grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are difficulties in doing such
simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a stretching program.
What Is Stretching?
Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity
involves straightening or stretching the structure or the limbs.
How Does One Do the Stretching?

It can be incorporated in the lifestyle and the daily activities. It does not require much of your time.
Stretching exercises can also be done while training. Actually, stretching is an essential part of any
training or sport. It must be done first before anything else. Stretching the body and the limbs is a
good preparation for a more rigorous activity. Most athletes would do the sit and reach, wherein they
position on the floor, extend their legs and reach the tip of their foot with the tip of their hand.
Actually, most trainers actually require their athletes to really do the stretching before playing. There
is actually an ideal length of time in stretching. It is best to do it in 10 minutes. This will give the body
enough opportunity to move and flex the muscles, thus preparing it for more complicated and
strenuous movements. Experts however would frown upon going way beyond 10 minutes. Stretching
the exercise to 30 minutes or more will already wear out the body. This will not be favorable if one is
preparing for a

The Case Of William Potter
Introduction Many workers are presented with ethical dilemmas every single day. In the case of
William Potter, a conflict of interest arose as he thought about promoting his son, Henry, to CEO of
the family company. Knowing he could not make an objective decision, he went to a loyal, trusted
employee, Jill, to do an objective review of Henry for him. This then put Jill in an ethical dilemma of
her own. Though she knows that Henry is doing a great job in his current position in Miami, she also
experienced him propositioning her a few years back, consequently making her life miserable. This
conflict forces her to think about the good of the company as well as her own good, making for a very
tough and tolling decision on how to review Henry. In order to decide what action Jill should take,
both consequentialist and deontological theories should be considered and applied to her situation.
Consequentialism
According to consequentialist theory, morality is entirely based on the results of your actions, or all of
the consequences that come from doing something (Haines, n.d.). In Jill s case, whatever she decides
to do will likely have both positive and negative consequences. For example, Jill truly believes that
Henry has done a great job with the company in his current position, and therefore if she recommends
making him CEO, he could make the company successful on a much greater level. However, if she
were to do this, she would put herself in the uncomfortable position of

Persuasive Essay On Fashion
Do you want to make a unique fashion statement on your special occasion? Are you attending your
prom, a wedding or a cocktail party? Then, vintage dresses are the way to go! While others are stuck
in the routine combination of dresses for their prom or special occasions, vintage dresses are original
choices you can go for, to stand out and rock the place.
The old is fashionable! The vintage look does not stop being in style, and when you add some 50s
dresses to your wardrobe or solely for the occasion, you display a unique taste that always stands out,
no matter the occasion. By the way, this should not be confused with the use of second hand clothing.
While the word vintage refers to old clothes, this does not mean that you have to use broken or time
worn models. This can be counterproductive and evoke a negative image instead of the good look
which is the original goal. The goal is to wear garments that look good in order to create a timeless
look at the same time.
Vintage dresses, like all the dresses we find in stores, should be tested and checked very carefully if it
has flaws. If you like dresses inspired by the past, you will love the optical or geometric prints of the
70s, classic black dresses or flared jeans from the 60s or flowers and laces of the 50s that will take us
much further back in time.
By definition, a dress is considered a vintage dress if it goes from the 20 s to the 80 s. This style is
generally welcomed and used by people who give special value to classic dresses. If you are
passionate about or identify with this style, we recommend you invest in some beautiful 50s vintage
dresses.
Generally, vintage dresses stand out for their exclusivity, high quality and distinction. In fact, vintage
dresses are the great passion of the fashion world fans and a source of inspiration for haute couture
designers. As you already know, celebrities are vintage fans! So, when you buy yourself some vintage
dresses, you are basically rocking your celebrity identity.
So, how do you combine your vintage dresses for your special occasion, to create a look that is current
and not outdated?
The truth is that, there is no perfect answer to this. This is because your personal taste plays an
essential role

makes his escape that the inmates realise how truly powerful hope is. When Red is released from
prison and make his way to Mexico, he says; I hope the Pacific is as blue as it is in my dreams. I hope.

Music And Pop Culture
A society is a community of people who share common interaction, culture and territory. These
societies consist of more than two people according to their social relations and cultural identity. With
a population of 10.28 million, the 1960s was a decade of political and social upheaval in Australia.
New aspects of society were being considered in shaping Australian politics through several protests
in defying authority. These included women s liberation, racial equality in support of the Indigenous
and Australia s participation in the Vietnam war. This then led to the inspiration of creating protest
music internationally. The major cultural and societal development in Australia was seen through
several elements of pop culture, predominantly rock n roll music which was heavily influenced by
American and British artists and was especially successful. The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Johnny O
Keefe are three of the most iconic figures that ensured the rock n roll culture and lifestyle could spread
rapidly within Australia and all over the world. When the rock n roll music sensation emerged, it was
at its peak in Australia during the 1950s and 1960s. It was a combination of several genres inclusive of
country and western music, with a rhythm and blues beat and vocals derived from African American
gospel music. Rock n roll had the biggest impact on the younger generation as a sound more risky and
authentic was found to be more appealing, whereas for the older generation,

In Vitro Fertilizatio is Helping Couples to have a Baby
A baby will bring happiness and joy to the family. Unfortunately, nowadays some couples have
problems regarding bearing a baby because of infertility. The definition of infertility is when couples
are unable to become pregnant. This problem is a big depression to all couples who want to have a
happy family and becomes a major issue for couples. Because of this problem and the growth of
technology, human being discovered a new technology and creates a solution for this problem, which
called In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). IVF gives a high chance to couples to have a baby. What is the In
Vitro Fertilization (IVF)? According to the Perla who is the author of Is in vitro fertilization for older
woman Ethical? article, the IVF is the process of uniting between sperm and ovum under certain
condition in laboratory. This technique is used when a woman is unable to bear children. It is a process
that required chemical methods to stimulate a female s ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Then these
eggs are removed and incubated with sperm. After fertilization and formation of zygote, the zygote is
placed inside a woman s uterus to grow. IVF is complex and expensive process. Only 5 % of infertile
couples have used this method. However, since the IVF and other similar techniques are introduced in
the United States in 1981, these methods have led to birth of more than 200,000 in infants. IVF is not
always the first step to have a baby. This technique uses when using fertility drugs,

Inferences In Everwild By Neal Shusterman
The novel, Everwild, written by Neal Shusterman describes the motives of Mary Hightower
(otherwise known as the Sky Witch) and Nick (known as the Chocolate Ogre). Mary is determined to
put the children of Everlost in a cycling pattern for all eternity. Nick, on the other hand, is trying to get
everyone to where they were originally heading (Usually Heaven). This novel describes how they
oppose each other and their actions. Meanwhile, Allie is on a trek with Mikey McGill attempting to
locate her parents. In this story, many inferences can be created about the main characters. The
protagonist is Nick the Chocolate Ogre. Some inferences that can be formed about him include, that
he is wise and knows how to respond to people who may question him and his actions, ... Show more

For instance, Nick states to Zinnia, I want you to practice this. Practice cramming every chance you
get, until you can do it as quickly and as smoothly as ripping (Page 258). Nick is instructing Zinnia to
practice placing things from Everlost into the living world (cramming). Another example would be
when Nick tells Zinnia, Now I m ordering you to put that corsage back into the living world. Nick is
ordering Zinnia to cram a corsage on page 263. She places it in the living world and sets it on the hand
of the women who owned it in her high school prom days. Finally, Nick says to Zinnia on pages 269
and 270, If you want to set things straight in the hereafter, then you need to put Kudzu back in the
living world~ just like you did to those flowers the other day. Nick wants Zinnia to cram her dog that
she had ripped from the living world. He wants her to place it back in the living world. Zinnia is
outraged but finally obeys. The actions Nick had ordered Zinnia to do was the preparation for what
she would actually do at the confrontation of Mary and

Fashion Keg Parties
Physics is used in everyday activities even when the typical college kid is taking a break from class by
attending a bonfire or a house party to blow off steam. Yes, I m talking about those good ol fashion
keg parties that everyone seems to believe are the general college night out. You see, physics is at
work from the first beer can opened to the last keg stand before the blackout, but it is also acting when
the keg is tapped.
Kegs come in many shapes and sizes and there are no real measurements as far as weight and amount
of alcohol. That means that the physics of all kegs can be different. From lifting one to rolling it to
having the ability to balance on your arms above it, some kegs are just easier to commit adolescent
indecencies then others. Still all kegs are basically the same in the way of how they work.
There is one opening on the top of the keg and a hose that runs to the bottom of the keg called the
spear. There is also a self closing valve that has enough tension to hold itself against the unpressured
fluid in the barrel of alcohol. This in some cases will have another hose coming off of it with a spigot
or could just have a normal spout from which the contents will run until the pressure is relieved or the
valve is physically closed. When the tap is inserted into the keg and pumped in pushes air or other
gases of your choice into the keg putting the contents under pressure. Depending on the gas used and
the amount of fluid in the keg you may need to drink

Evaluation On Tablets Vs. Laptops
When looking at technology people look for certain criteria when it comes to evaluating the specific
electronic device they want. Tablets in my opinion are way better than laptops only because they are
less bulky; they are thin which makes tablets more versatile, their battery life lasts longer than a
laptop, and ipad tablets have special programs a laptop doesn t obtain. Tablets have advanced over the
years. Look at Apple for instance, they came out with the iPad mini and now they came out with an
iPad with a retina display that means that the screen has sufficient pixel density, which means that the
screen is brighter and clearer. Laptops may have a bigger screen but I don t see laptops advancing like
tablets do these days. It is quite an experience if you own an ipad tablet, once you own one you will
never want to go back to a laptop. Ipads has a built in Wi Fi and cellular connectivity so people can
stay in touch easier than they would with a laptop. Laptops have Wi Fi but not cellular connectivity.
They could use cellular connectivity through skype, but you have to pay to use it. Another cool thing
this device has is a multi touch screen so you can quickly exit and enter into a new application and it
has a virtual keyboard for typing up papers, taking notes, and researching information. One might
argue, if they aren t into the high tech electronics, laptops are more suitable in their scenario because a
laptop is simpler. Many, that I ve talked to prefer an ipad

  • 2. King Kong Comparison Essay The original 1933 King Kong was created as a movie: to convey a story and entertain and audience. Peter Jackson s 2005 remake took the foundation for King Kong and expanded upon it in almost every way in order to make again the amazement of the original for a modern audience. Audiences received the original King Kong very well. The stop motion sequences of Kong were amazing for their time and the movie grossed $90,000 in its opening weekend. In order to bank upon its success again sequels were made and then in 1976 a remake was made to improve upon the original. Paramount updated the movie to color, changed the story, and cast Jeff Bridges, a well known actor of the time, as the lead. Although the movie received mixed reviews, it did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Jackson s remake is true to the original for the most part, there are some small changes made in order to make the movie more appealing. In the original King Kong it is the lead actor in the movie that saves the damsel in distress but in the 2005 remake it is the scriptwriter that saves the female actress. This change is likely due to the recent trend of heroes coming from unlikely places. Studios know that if a movie does well the first time, it is likely to do well the second time and even the third time. King Kong is no exception. Producers can presume that the glory of the original will pass on to the remake since audiences hope for that feeling again. Whether the movie is better or not doesn t matter. Audiences will go to see King Kong over the years because the remakes are associated with the original. Every King Kong remake is based on the same principles: wanting to create a movie that will capture audiences and instill in them a sense of wonderment and awe. The original did this and the remakes try to do it again. Directors, producers, and studios may change the story, update the actors and technology but they are essentially just trying to cash in on the success of the original. The definition for phobia is quot;an abnormal or morbid fear or aversion quot; ( quot;Oxford quot; 655). To be considered a phobia, a fear must cause great distress or interfere with a person amp;#8217;s life in a major way. The word phobia is Greek, therefore, any word that proceeds it should be Greek too. To coin a new phobia name, it is proper and only accepted to follow this rule. Genes appear to play a role in all cases of phobias. A person has three times the risk of developing a phobia if a close relative suffers from one. (Wood 516). From the phsycodynamic perspective, people develop phobias primarily as a defense against the anxiety they feel when sexual or aggressive impulses threaten to break into consciousness. If the anxiety can be displaced onto a feared object and if that object can be avoided, then there is less chance that the disturbing impulse will break through. Phobias may be acquired through observational learning, as well. For example, children who hear their parents talking about frightening experience with the dentist, with bugs or thunder storms may develop similar fears themselves. Frightening experiences set the stage for phobias, yet not all phobias recall the experience producing the phobia. For example, if a person was humiliated by performing in front of others, they may develop a social phobia. Social phobia is the third largest medical problem in the world. The Aztecs were a Mesoamerican Empire that rose in power in the post classic period. From the 1300 s 1521, the Aztecs continued to increase their population and their influence in the Mesoamerican region, despite the upcoming nearby empires, such as the Tlaxcalan empire. This all changed with the arrival of the Spaniard, Hernan Cortez. Cortez was a Spanish conquistador under the rule of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. Cortez contributed for the downfall of many empires, including the Aztecs. Even though conquering was not a part of the Catholics religion. Before the title APHON, it used to be just APON because hematology was not included when it was first founded in 1974. APON was established in 1974 when Oncology nurses decided that they needed to have their own association to discuses their research and outcomes with other Oncology nurses from around the United States. As their organization grew they realized that blood disorders played a major role in cancer, thus creating the title we know of today as APHON. APHON s mission is to not only to assist and excel Hem/Onc nurses, but also to help amplify the opportunistic outcomes of their adolescent patients. It is also predicted that right hemisphere is in charge of 3 D mental rotation imagination process (Reio, Czarnolewski and Eliot, 2001, p.352). With better ability to perform spatial imagination, left handers are surely good at mathematics in the geometry aspect. Being aided by the right hemisphere in creative thinking, left handed people are also more talented in musical ability. A survey of 51 professional orchestras in Britain reported that 13% of the musicians were left handed, slightly, but not hugely, above the national average, which is 10% (Right, Left, Right, Wrong, n.d.). Many song writers and composers are known to be left handed such as Beethoven, Mozart, Phil Collins and Paul Simon. The strong inter hemispheric communication is also an aspect of their creative song writing and composing. The research reported here was motivated by evidence that some musical abilities are like spatial functions in that they appear to be more dependent on the right than the left hemisphere (Milner, 1962; Kimura, 1967). Two of the most creative individuals in history have been Albert Einstein, an early slow learner who exhibited an an unusual symmetry between the hemispheres (Witelson, Kigar, Harvey, 1999, p. 2151), and Leonardo da Vinci, who habitually wrote left handed in mirror writing. This report focuses on how graduating students in this program can determine which career/job option would be best suited for them. I have concluded my report based on the comparison of four main criteria, which include the requirements, salary, security and working condition. I was able to collect the data for my report through online research as well as research from textbooks and library. I have also included an action plan for students so that they can easily work to choose between the various job options available to them. BACKGROUND The nursing industry is a very important industry and it forms one of the most important aspects of the overall health care industry. It has to be noted that nurses provide some very important support functions for the doctors and physicians and they are also very important in dealing with various types of patients. In Canada, nursing is a very lucrative career, mostly because there is an acute shortage of nurses. Some of the reasons include that nursing can be a very demanding job in which the nurses have to work for long hours and they are exposed to a lot of stresses on the job, which is why many nurses tend to quit their jobs. In this case, it s not clear how Megan s dad being murdered is relevant, or how it connects to the plotline. The backstory is left dangling for the audience. It s a serious backstory to have a parent murdered; yet there s no payoff for the reveal. Normally, a backstory has some emotional affect on the current storyline. For example, if Megan were home when her dad was killed and she was unable to protect and save him, then this could be a relevant inner conflict for her. She could carry the guilt about her father and now she has to learn to protect herself. Or in another example, if Megan were home when her dad was murdered, maybe she saw the killer and now years later he reappears. Regardless, the idea of the connection to Brown isn t clear and it s suggested to eliminate this connection unless there s a solid link to the present day storyline and the past. The opening sets the tone for a mobster story. It establishes that Nick is deadly. However, the scene isn t as tense or suspenseful as it could be. Media and advertisements set their standards for men to be tall, muscular, board upper body, v line and have beards etc. Neither males nor females live without having standards set up for them by society and media. Widely held perceptions of beauty and perfection can have a deep and lasting cultural impact on both women and men. Some impact is that these standards will continue to exist in our future culture and both genders will never feel comfortable in their own skin/body. Both men and women would continue to judge themselves and their beauty. Magazines and advertisements usually have images of men without their shirts in order to show off their muscles and to attract customers. This makes members of society expect to see a six pack,v line and pectorals when a male takes off their shirt. This gives teenage boys fear to take off their shirt when going to the beach or smaller situations like going inside a pool because they are scared to be criticized for not being muscular. Magazines display images of these fake models for both men and women which creates intimidation. • 19. The Political Economy Of Gender Over the past century, women in numerous dissimilar cultures have become increasingly agitated at the value placed by the government in promoting traditional patriarchal lifestyles. This focus on men being the breadwinners of their family outside of the house so that it becomes difficult for women to succeed outside domestic life is a spark of controversy. In many cases, it has led to an intense examination of policy changes, or lack thereof, by governments in response to a collective women s voice within their respective countries, in their quest for equality in the home and workplace. Responses to gender gap problems don t have the same solutions around the world however. Through the The Political Economy of Gender by Iversen and Rosenbluth the effect modern movements have on women s beliefs can be examined through Albert Hirschman s ideas of voice and exit and further applied to situations such as those examined in Exit, voice, and family policy in Japan by Leonard Schoppa. Once a young adult leaves high school they have a choice to either go to college or to go into the workforce. When deciding which path they will take, they must look at both the benefits and disadvantages. The advantage to going straight into the workforce is being able to immediately start their profession of choice and do not have to pay off expensive college loans. The disadvantage to going straight into the workforce is the fact that in today s job market, there are not many high paying jobs that do not require a degree. However, the benefit of going to college is that careers that require a college degree are often high paying and come with worker s benefits. College affords the student to develop and master academic and social skills. Companies and employers are not willing to invest time and money into prospects without those skills or a formal education. The disadvantage to going to college is brought upon because college tuition has doubled in the past ten years, which makes college unaffordable without being overwhelmed by student loans for the rest of one s life (Graff 179). The differences between these two paths make the decision to go to college one of the most influential decisions of an individual s entire life. A prototype model can be viewed as a rudimentary working model of a product or information system, used to test or prove a concept or a process. A prototype of an Information System can be viewed as a draft version of the system that allows stakeholders to explore system features and test the overall system before dedicating resources for the development of the full scale system. Prototyping is an iterative process. A high level view of the process allows us to identify the following 4 steps that form the crux of the prototyping approach: Figure 1: Prototype Design Process 1. Even though Bernie seems like a tall tale, it is actually based upon a true story. The light, happy, and perky innocence of Bernie Teide creates the audience to believe no such man could do any harm. The colors used to portray the town are all bright, happy, and colorful. The aesthetics of the town are used create the feel of a happy small town leading to believe that there s no way a ... Police Accountability Essay This essay will describe the mechanisms by which the British Police are held to account, and will touch upon the paradox of police governance, the balance of unwanted coercion of police, financial stewardship and police legitimacy. This essay will also divulge into a discussion on the topic; is policing political? There will be an argument for and against, and the advantages and disadvantages to both sides will be conversed to achieve an accurate conclusion. In addition this essay will start by portraying the significance of Police Accountability. Police Accountability in both England and Wales, became a national political issue throughout the 1980 s, the issues mainly alarmed those who had power over the police, who ought to manage them and whether they were beyond democratic control. However, in recent years these issues have lost some of their debate and accountability now focus on police effectiveness and police performance. The police are to follow the rule of law and legislation (legislation is where powers of police are derived) and are subordinated to the law. Police also have allegiance to the crown, which serves as an alternative to the state, as a central organizing principle of government. The model known as the tripartite system (shown below) conveys police accountability and is the essential basis of police governance. It is established under the 1964 Police Act. • 35. Beauty Is An Integral Part Of Human Nature The concept of beauty is an integral part of human nature. For centuries men and women have designated a part of each day dedicating their time to their physical appearance. In many cultures beauty is made a priority of life. This is reflective of the expectations the media places on men and women to have a certain look. What most do not realize is beauty is not just defined by the aesthetic pleasure of faces, hair, bodies, and clothes, it is driven by many other factors. The concept of beauty does not have to be tied down to the strict definition of what is visually attractive, and should rather focus on many different aspects of the person as a whole to create a definition of their beauty. There are many factors that contribute to what makes something or in the case of this research, someone beautiful . The explanation for the perception of beauty in one s self and in others is due in part to a biological, a psychological, and a cultural basis working hand in hand to create what humans believe to be beauty. Perception of beauty is manipulated greatly by the biological evolutionary influences on human nature. All of this stems from the deeply rooted evolutionary need to reproduce. In particular, facial beauty of a female or a male is important because the one weapon men and women have to fulfill the ultimate goal of preserving their genes in another generation is attraction. One must be perceived as beautiful first before any sexual attraction can occur (Wilson, 2013). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Taking a Look at Maritime Security Maritime security is an extremely broad area of concern. It covers everything terrorism, the physical security of ports and ships right through to the security of energy resources into the future. Introduction: The Indian Ocean Region (IOR) is a significant and strategic locality within the 21st century. It is important to a number of countries, including many key players of the region. The large waters of the IOR make it a strategic thoroughfare for international sea lanes as part of global maritime trade and sea commerce. This will create various maritime boundaries, disputes and choke points, which is an important security challenge of the IOR. The IOR is a vast energy and resource filled environment, which makes it a security challenge for competing states. Another security concern within the IOR is that of asymmetrical threats. These threats will target the energy/resource sector as well as the various vessels that cross the IOR. Crime, including that of piracy, human trafficking and smuggling is an imperative issue that regularly occurs within the IOR. These are the principal maritime security challenges in the IOR and provide all states, which operate in the region, a difficult task in countering these issues. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on your own. You must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf. These are simple activities. Nothing grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are difficulties in doing such simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a stretching program. What Is Stretching? Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity involves straightening or stretching the structure or the limbs. • 38. The Case Of William Potter Introduction Many workers are presented with ethical dilemmas every single day. In the case of William Potter, a conflict of interest arose as he thought about promoting his son, Henry, to CEO of the family company. Knowing he could not make an objective decision, he went to a loyal, trusted employee, Jill, to do an objective review of Henry for him. This then put Jill in an ethical dilemma of her own. Though she knows that Henry is doing a great job in his current position in Miami, she also experienced him propositioning her a few years back, consequently making her life miserable. This conflict forces her to think about the good of the company as well as her own good, making for a very tough and tolling decision on how to review Henry. In order to decide what action Jill should take, both consequentialist and deontological theories should be considered and applied to her situation. Consequentialism According to consequentialist theory, morality is entirely based on the results of your actions, or all of the consequences that come from doing something (Haines, n.d.). In Jill s case, whatever she decides to do will likely have both positive and negative consequences. For example, Jill truly believes that Henry has done a great job with the company in his current position, and therefore if she recommends making him CEO, he could make the company successful on a much greater level. Yes, I m talking about those good ol fashion keg parties that everyone seems to believe are the general college night out. You see, physics is at work from the first beer can opened to the last keg stand before the blackout, but it is also acting when the keg is tapped. Kegs come in many shapes and sizes and there are no real measurements as far as weight and amount of alcohol. That means that the physics of all kegs can be different. From lifting one to rolling it to having the ability to balance on your arms above it, some kegs are just easier to commit adolescent indecencies then others. Still all kegs are basically the same in the way of how they work. There is one opening on the top of the keg and a hose that runs to the bottom of the keg called the spear. There is also a self closing valve that has enough tension to hold itself against the unpressured fluid in the barrel of alcohol. This in some cases will have another hose coming off of it with a spigot or could just have a normal spout from which the contents will run until the pressure is relieved or the valve is physically closed. Tablets in my opinion are way better than laptops only because they are less bulky; they are thin which makes tablets more versatile, their battery life lasts longer than a laptop, and ipad tablets have special programs a laptop doesn t obtain. Tablets have advanced over the years. Look at Apple for instance, they came out with the iPad mini and now they came out with an iPad with a retina display that means that the screen has sufficient pixel density, which means that the screen is brighter and clearer. Laptops may have a bigger screen but I don t see laptops advancing like tablets do these days. It is quite an experience if you own an ipad tablet, once you own one you will never want to go back to a laptop. Ipads has a built in Wi Fi and cellular connectivity so people can stay in touch easier than they would with a laptop. Laptops have Wi Fi but not cellular connectivity. They could use cellular connectivity through skype, but you have to pay to use it. Another cool thing this device has is a multi touch screen so you can quickly exit and enter into a new application and it has a virtual keyboard for typing up papers, taking notes, and researching information.
