Noco Soccer Academy
NOCO Soccer Academy is a successful youth soccer training program is the market that Dyer has
been targeting. Dyer wants to grow his business enough to reach his strategic goal of building a sports
complex for his business to occupy. Dyer needs to double his business in order to support this goal. In
using S.W.O.T. analysis to evaluate NOCO s current situation it is clear that NOCO has a number of
things working for it already; customer retention is very high, awareness of NOCO in its current
market is close to 100 percent and Dyer has access to enough trainer resources to continue his
company s growth. Some of the obstacles NOCO faces in working toward expansion are loss of
customer base to high school sports programs after they reach 14 ... Show more content on

This type of new program offering and adding one on one training for his current customers would
increase NOCO s market penetration in the 10 13 year old group too. Using customer satisfaction
surveys would be a great market research tool for Dyer to use to identify the types of new programs
his customers are looking for. Diversification in NOCO s target markets is another avenue for Dyer to
explore to expand his business. Consumers in Colorado are very interested in soccer. Is there enough
interest to warrant developing adult soccer teams? Is there a market for toddler soccer training? What
about a childcare program for younger kids so parents can watch older kids compete in the
tournaments? Dyer needs to hit the pavement in his community and in the neighboring communities to
get first hand feedback from the demographics he is targeting. In order to increase awareness of his
business in the towns adjacent to Fort Collins, Dyer could host recruiting events in Loveland,
Longmont and Greeley. With the information he gathers at those events he could consider the viability
of bussing new customers to Fort Collins or offering camps outside his home base. This type of
market development could be instrumental in growing NOCO into the recognizable brand that Dyer
wants it to be.
Dyer should evaluate all opportunities available to him and weigh them against their opportunity cost
before heading in any single direction with

Child Labor Caused The Children
Damon Randazzo Ms. Wilkerson F Period 14 October 2014 Research paper In the early 1800 s
education was only available to certain people. The people who could not go to school had no choice
but to work for very low pay. Child labor started when factors were mostly ran by machines and not
by man power. Some of the jobs include mines, glass factories, agriculture, home industries,
newsboys, messengers, bootblacks, and peddlers. The owners of the factors would pay children to run
the machines because it was cheaper than paying adults. Child labor caused the children to have a very
bad childhood. They could be like normal children because they had to work all day and could not go
play outside with the neighborhood kids. In the early 1800 s only the wealthy children could go to
school and the poor children would have to work in factories. There were many different types of jobs
during the early 1800 s. Some of the jobs include mines, glass factories, agriculture, home industries,
newsboys, messengers, bootblacks, and peddlers. A job in a factor may consist of 12 to 18 hour days,
six days a week. Children could start working in factors as early as 7 years old. The working
conditions in the factors were often dark, damp, and dirty which made the children ill. The children
did not just work in factors they also worked in coal mines where it was very dirty and the children
often became ill. The children who worked as newsboys they brought all the paper, so t cost of any

Essay On Thurgood Marshall
Throughout history, there has been discrimination against race, religion, gender, orientation, age,
among many other things. From the British preventing the colonists rights to the separate but equal
doctrine people used to justify discrimination against African Americans, America has had its fair
share of it. After years of the mockery of equality that African Americans had, change was needed.
Out of the thousands of voices who brought the winds of change, that were heard the most were:
Martin Luther King Jr., for convincing people to join their cause; Thurgood Marshall, who used the
law to get people to listen to their voices; and the Silent Majority, for without them, freedom would
never truly ring from every mountainside.
While King was the spokesperson, the Silent Majority were the people who really pushed for civil
rights. They were the ones who did the sit ins, boycotts, strikes, and protests. While the organizations
such as the NAACP ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Linda Brown, an African American girl, had to have to walk so far to a school in terrible condition
when there was an all white school close to her house. Her parents hired Marshall on her behalf to find
a way to desegregate schools so black students could go to the same school. This resulted in his most
famous case, Brown v. Board of Education, which argued that it was unconstitutional for schools to be
segregated. (The Road to Civil Rights) Because of his victory in the Supreme Court, the Little Rock
Nine could desegregate Little Rock Central High School, and the only legal way to get them out of the
school was to close it. While working for the NAACP, he also won several other cases that would
pave the way for equality for all, and went on to become the first African American Supreme Court
justice. (The Road to Civil Rights) His efforts helped Martin Luther King Jr. s

Communism In The Quiet American
Richard Nixon, a former president of the United States, wrote after having reflected on his country s
decisions during his presidency that no event in American history is more misunderstood than the
Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is misremembered now (Nixon). Observers of this war
had multiple different perspectives that became altered over time, causing everyone to have a biased
opinion. Very few were able to look at the war justly and without bias. After World War II, the
Vietnamese people anticipated reunification and democracy away from French rule. The Vietnamese
were hindered heavily by French colonialism, resulting in the increasing popularity of communist
revolutionary, Ho Chi Minh. The Quiet American, a novel by Graham ... Show more content on

In a discussion with Fowler over the desires of the Vietnamese people, Pyle explains, They ll be
forced to believe what they are told and won t be allowed to think for themselves (Greene 86). In this
assumption, Pyle believes that the Soviets are controlling the Vietnamese and forcing them under a
communist government, which is parallel to the United States idea that Ho Chi Minh was a puppet for
Stalin and the Soviet Union. Rather than pursuing his own goals, Pyle believes that communism
would build Vietnam into a satellite nation for the Soviet Union. However, Fowler sees that the
Vietnamese were not Soviet puppets and he truly takes into account the aspirations of the Vietnamese
people. In the same discussion with Pyle, Fowler counters him with the belief that the Vietnamese
people just want enough rice... They don t want to be shot at. They want one day to be the same as
another (Greene 86). Fowler conveys the displeasure of the Vietnamese through the use of blunt
diction, accentuating the importance of the common man. The Vietnamese were not after a communist
government, they were working towards a populist nationalist movement that would guarantee their
independence from Western powers and reunify them. Fowler s perspective of the Vietnamese s
intentions is supported by nationalist and revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh. In a speech explaining
what the Vietnamese were hoping to achieve through communism, Ho Chi Minh lists, reunification,
independence, and democracy (Ho, Geneva ). Ho Chi Minh was more than the two dimensional Soviet
puppet the Americans made him out to be. He was a multifaceted enigma who wanted to establish
communism in Vietnam as a means to an end for the reunification of Vietnam, which would benefit
the poverty stricken

To have views of people where there are no railways tracks. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE:
While your problem formulation serves to describe the aim of your thesis, the objectives provide an
accurate description of the specific actions you will take in order to reach this aim. As with the
problem formulation, the overall objective should be framed in a single sentence. The research
objectives of our research are as following:
To improve the system of working of rails in New Zealand.
To learn about their customer service.
To learn about their routes and services
To provide them necessary improvement if required.

Joining Cults
Former Members Perception of Cult Movement, is a study researched and done by Dr. Carmen
Almendros, Dr. Jose A. Carrobles and Dr. Alvaro Rodriguez Carballeira. The research paper was
published online under the ICSA ( International Cultic Studies Association), a non profitable anti cult
organization, in 2007 in Volume six of the Cultic Studies Review. As the title of the study states, the
research was used to find the perception of former cultic members before and during their
involvement in the cultic group. The research paper goes in depth about the factors that influences
people to join cults, and as well as delve in the topic of previous mental health seekers and the impact
on them when joining these cults.
Unfortunately, the hypothesis wasn t clearly mentioned in the research paper. However, it could be
easily predicted that the hypothesis is surrounding the topic that most people who join cults believe
that the cults are morally good and healthy for them. The prediction is based on the fact that the
articles states that most cultic members are derived from normal family environments instead of
having a troubled past. Also, the researcher focuses on the attitudes of joining a cult, which in the
interview ranged from, strong desire to join, I don t know it arose , and I was ... Show more content on

Rukmani s Nectar In A Sieve Entry
Nectar in a Sieve Entry One night, Rukmani heard soft footsteps, and thought it was Kunthi coming to
rob them of what little they had, unashamed of her previous actions. Rukmani went outside, and threw
herself at the figure she saw. She beat it to the ground, overcome with rage, as the figure struggled
weakly. Then Rukmani was pulled off the figure, and Nathan scolded her for beating her own
daughter. I think Kunthi s previous actions had angered Rukmani so much, that she was blinded by
rage at the very suspicion of the figure being Kunthi stealthily walking to their house to steal whatever
food they had left. She did not consider for a moment that the figure could have been someone else.
The figure had been Ira, who was cut badly, with wounds

Why Didn t Noah Swat those Two Mosquitoes
Why Didn t Noah Swat Those Two Mosquitoes?
We all know how Noah was instructed by God to make an ark, and fill it with two of every sort of
living thing, and gather food for them (Genesis 6:11 22) but if you are lying in a hospital bed waiting
for the nurse to stick the big, gleaming needle in your vein for the nth time, you will definitely want
those pesky blood sucking parasites dead!
World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates World Health Day on 7th April each year and the theme
for 2014 was, Vector borne diseases under the banner Small Bite Big Threat .Vector borne diseases
account for 17% of the estimated global burden of all infectious diseases!
Imagine Mr. X, a resident of Mumbai who is suffering from high fever, severe headache (behind the
eyes), and nausea and vomiting. He also complains of excruciating joint pain. He has started to
develop a petechial rash. Mr. X goes to his physician who orders some blood tests. His CBC shows
decreased platelets and NS 1 antigen test is positive. What am I talking about? You guessed it right!
DENGUE!
Why talk about dengue? WHO says the world s fastest growing vector borne disease is dengue, with a
30 fold increase in disease incidence over the last 50 years. The Centre for Disease Control (CDC)
states with more than one third of the world s population living in areas at risk for infection, dengue
virus is a leading cause of illness and death in the tropics and subtropics. As many as 400 million

Residential Life Sets The Tone For Ones College Experience
As the year comes to an end so will many students experience in the residence halls. Residential life
sets the tone for ones college experience and with four different places to live means four different
experiences to have had this year. Name: Mollie Merino Hometown: Denver, Colorado Residence
Hall: Cate Center Major: International Studies Merino shared her experiences in the dorms with 16
other girls in one bathroom saying, we became really close right off the bat . For me the experience of
living in Cate has been really positive, just because it s given me the opportunity to meet so many
people. Which coming from out of state was a really unique and cool opportunity . At the start of the
year Merinos biggest fear was she would hate it and not doing well here. My biggest fear was that I
wasn t going to be able to cut it out here. That I wasn t going to be liked, that I wasn t going to have
friends, and that I wasn t going to do well , she said. Merino said, the option of going home was one I
wasn t going to let myself have. I didn t want to be that person who talked about leaving and then
turned around and came back . Next year Merino will be an RA at Headington Hall. She says I think
the cultures are really similar, the buildings themselves are pretty different, obviously Cates a little bit
older, a little bit less luxurious than Headington . In Cate, it s a really small community, I pretty much
know everyone who lives in our building. I love it

Elements Of Violence In Gothic Literature
Rough Draft. In the gothic literature, some stories have similar gothic elements in them that can be
used in different ways depending on the author. The elements that are of concern today are the
elements of curses and violence. The works of Edgar Allan Poe, Washington Irving, and Richard
Matheson will provide some examples of similar elements in their stories, The Devil and Tom Walker
by Irving, The Black Cat by Poe, and Prey by Matheson. The first element that will be discussed is the
element of violence. Now for those who have not read the stories that are being used, here are some
brief summaries with quotes and show the element of violence. In The Devil and Tom Walker by
Washington Irving, the main character Tom walker makes a deal ... Show more content on

one day, many months after Tom had made the deal, Tom started to regret the deal and tries to find a
way out of it by being extremely religious. After this development the devil appears and said Tom you

Cat, the narrator had found a new cat to replace Pluto. However this new cat looked almost exactly
like Pluto except for a white patch of hair on its chest. Later the narrator wife had started to grow fond
of the cat, eventually the narrator s wife had called my attention, more than once, to the character of

Napoleon Bonaparte And George Washington
In the middle of three significant historical events, we find two notable men, Napoleon Bonaparte, and
George Washington. The U.S American Revolution, 1775 1783(History Online) the end of the French
Revolution, 1789 1799 the commencement of the Napoleonic Era, 1804 1815(Bonjour la France).
Two Revolutions, two Generals, on two Continents. Bonaparte and Washington fought for equality,
freedom, and fraternity for their homelands. This essay will compare and contrast Napoleon Bonaparte
and George Washington by their education, most significant battle, and achievements.
The question is, was Napoleon Bonaparte a dictator, or one of the most remarkable military strategist?
Opinions are diverse about the man who crowned himself as an Emperor. In fact, this explains
Napoleon s words when he said: Circumstances what are circumstances? I make circumstances
(Biography/Online). On the other hand, George Washington the Commander in Chief of the
Continental Army was the first President of the United States of America (The White House), who
said, If we mean to support the liberty and independence which have cost us so much blood and
treasure to establish, we must drive far away the demon of party spirit and local reproach George
Washington. (Forbes/Online).
While Napoleon was a man of a short stature, contradictory, exalted mind, extroverted and intelligent,
he also had the gift of talent, and charisma to convince and lead the audiences. He was also an

Happy Moment In 1988
The year 1988 was filled with many mixed emotions throughout the year. There were moments when
people were sad from losing their loved ones but also many happy emotions because of big
achievements that have been reached. Some of the sad moments that happened was train crashes,
airplane crashes, helicopter crashes, many famous people dying, and the terrible tropical storm that
happened in Rio De Janeiro. Some of the more happy moments from 1988 are when Barry Sander s
won the Heisman Trophy during his junior in college, and when the scientist found a fossil that dated
back 390 million years ago.
An airplane crashed in southwestern China, killing all 108 passengers on January 18th. The airplane
was reported to of crashed at 10:15 P.M. Monday night. The passenger plane was leaving from
Beijing, heading for Chongqing. The crash happened about five miles from the airport in Sichuan. The
plane was reported to be carrying 10 crew members and 98 passengers. Four of the people that were in
the crash were foreigners, three Japanese and someone from Britain. The three Japanese passengers
that died were identified as Isamu Tanaka and Masato Haga of the Toshiba Corporation, and the third
was Sumio Kudo of Mitsui Company, a trading firm.
There was a 13 day standoff in Marion, Utah, between police and a polygamist clan. On January 28th,
the standoff ended in gunfire that killed a state corrections officer and seriously wounded the

Locker Searches Research Paper
School Searches
Sheyenne High School is a safe place to go to school but this is not the case in a lot of the schools in
our nation. I believe parents, teachers and students are in agreement that a school needs to be a safe
place where students can focus on school work and socialize without the fear of being bullied or being
harassed. However, there is some disagreement as to the best policies for making a school safe.
Locker searches are one tool schools have to ensure that students are following school policies, but
they are not without drawbacks.
The primary advantage of locker searches is their effectiveness. Finding contraband material such as

Causing Harm With Trade Embargos And Sanctions
Causing Harm With Trade Embargos and Sanctions
Trade embargos have tremendous consequences for countries that are being embargoed. The embargos
not only affect the country that are being embargoed, but the effect bleed over the borders to the
surrounding countries. The list of countries that have been sanctioned by the United Nations included
Russia, North Cyprus, and Cuba. United Nations sanctions that target countries affect the economy,
the morale, and encourages criminal activities to obtain goods. The majority of good hearted citizens
would be appalled if they were walking down a street and saw a dog tied up in a yard looking like it
hadn t eaten for a week. These citizens would take a minute retrieve their phone and call the Humane
Society to report this cruel treatment of this poor dog. As doctor C. M. Tiplada, D. B. Walsh, and C. J.
C. Phillips wrote in their journal article, Public outrage after undercover footage of animal cruelty is
screened has been reported in a range of countries, such as USA, Canada, and the UK (636). Who do
the citizen call when they are being treated like the dog and the owner of the dog is the United
Nations? This is how people around the world are being treated each and every day when their country
has an embargo imposed on the resources that are able to enter and exit their country. These embargos
create personnel harm to the citizens of the country at the expense of political malfeasance.
The United Nations has a greater

30 For 30 There s No Place Like Home Summary
The documentary 30 for 30: There s No Place Like Home was composed by American documentary
filmmaker and author Josh Swade to inform the audience about what is considered the most important
document in sports history; the rules of basketball. The rules, invented by James Naismith, were going
to be auctioned at Sotheby s in New York City. Josh Swade is an extremist KU fan with a mission to

it s befitting home at KU. This historic document belongs to KU.

Affection, and value are how KU fans feel towards basketball and the document of the rules.
Nevertheless, according to the article, Sympathy for the Blue Devils: There s No Place Like Home,
Swade s belief that he s on an almost biblical quest would be comical if he weren t so obnoxious
(Bellamy 1). However, the author of this article is biased towards Duke. Describing Swade as
obnoxious is one example of the bias Bellamy includes throughout his article. No facts are used to
prove that Swade s behavior is obnoxious whatsoever. In fact, Swade s behavior shows how
determined he was to bring the rules back to their rightful home. Obnoxious or not, Swade and other
KU fans had sentimental feeling towards the document of rules that would have made innumerable
amounts of KU fans disappointed if the rules were not placed safely back in Lawrence, Kansas.
Correspondingly, the affectionate feelings KU had towards the rules and basketball tied together the
reasoning to bring the rules back to their rightful home in Lawrence,

Differences Of The UEFA Champions League And The Super Bowl
Both the UEFA Champions League and Super Bowl in the United States are big sporting events both
nationally and internationally. There are several similarities between the opening ceremony of the
UEFA Champions League and that of the Super Bowl. One of the main similarities is that the two
events attract a huge number of fans. In the 2017 UEFA Champions League final, there were fans
drawn from both Real Madrid and Juventus. The final attracted many people as many people flocked
to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Similarly, many fans flock the Super Bowl event in the United
States. Another similarity is the fact that the two events feature artist s performances. The Black Eyed
Peas performed during the opening ceremony of the 2017 UEFA Champions League. Similarly, the
Super Bowl has in the past featured artists such as Lady Gaga.
There are however some differences between the two events. The UEFA Champions League attracted
more fans compared to the Super Bowl. UEFA Champions League commands a wider fan base
globally compared to the Super Bowl. Another difference is the fact that while the Super Bowl has
halftime performances, the UEFA Champions League only features opening performances. The UEFA
Champions League Final opening ceremony also trends more compared to NFL Super Bowl.

functionalism
Functionalism has given a useful understanding of society, despite its limitations. Functionalists
describe society using an organic analogy; they say society is like a biological organism. Parsons
found three similarities between society and an organism. System organisms such as the human body
and society are both self regulating and inter related, independent parts fit together in fixed ways. In
the body these are organs; in society they are institutions, such as family and education. Both
organisms have system needs for example an organism needs nutrition without which it would die.
Social systems have basic needs for example members of society need to be socialised. Both society
and organisms function to contribute to meeting the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parsons describes adaption and goal attainment as instrumental needs, to the means to an end, such as
producing food to sustain the population. He describes integration and latency as expressive needs as
they involve channelling emotions. By carrying out their respective functions the four sub systems
ensure that society s needs are met and social stability maintained. Parsons identified two types of
society, traditional and modern. Each type has its own typical pattern of norms. Within each type the
variables fit together, for example in modern society students are expected to pursue their own self
interests, achieved status through efforts in education, attained through deferred gratification. They are
all judged by the universal standard of exams. Contrastingly in traditional society an individual s
status is ascribed at birth and they re expected to put their kinships interest before their own, called
collective orientation. Parsons argues change is a gradual, evolutionary process of increasing
complexity and structural differentiation. The organic analogy is relevant here. Organisms have
evolved from simple structures to complex organisms with different parts performing its own
specialised function. Similarly societies move from simple to complex structures. For example in
traditional society a single institution, the kinship system, performs many functions. It organises
production and consumption, provides political leadership, socialises members and

Symptoms And Treatment Of Psychiatric Illnesses
Introduction
Psychiatric illnesses affected heavily almost every country of the world. Billions of dollars are put to
research on psychiatric disorders every year. Although from time to time new methods of treatment
are followed by researchers. However the results and the efficiency of treatment are almost bleak. In
brain sciences the problems which we start with before hundred years are almost as such and with
psychiatry it becomes more compounded. We are not yet able to control the psychiatric problems even
with 21st century advances in the medical science. From time to time the scientists use multiple
approaches in understanding the puzzles in relation to the brain and its functions. Though we make a
small progress towards understanding or close to understanding such puzzles. However close analysis
shows that we are still far away from understanding some basic rules which the brain used throughout
its functions. There must lies a void in our understanding of the brain and its functioning. Though
brain is highly complex organ it also works through complex processes and mechanisms. There is the
exigent need to help understand the mysteries of the brain science and its functioning. There is a need
to help solve brain mysteries through multiple perspectives.

on some principles of classical or Newtonian physics. Such classical principles have been

What is the Scale of Chemistry? Chemistry is the study of matter and its transformations. Everything
that you can taste, touch, see or smell is composed of chemicals. All the chemicals around you are
made from various combinations of the elements on the periodic table. These elements can range
considerably in size; specifically, atoms at the top of the periodic table are smaller than those near the
bottom. The study of atoms and the reasons for the trend in their sizes will be covered in class later
this semester. Many of the chemicals we encounter everyday are molecular in structure. Molecules are
specific combinations of atoms. The oxygen we breathe in and the carbon dioxide we breathe out are
both molecular in their structure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as well. When a man closes off one of the most vital veins to his heart, compassion, he too can find
himself lost in the bleak and somber tundra of mere existence. The liberation of the heart is a
liberation which some cannot easily attain. In many instances, the heart may require an influence or
spark that revives the compassion that is lacking. In Raymond Carver s Cathedral, the author takes this
notion of intervention and demonstrates it through the tale of a vulgar and callous man who seems to
lack even the slightest amount of compassion for anyone. The man appears to have no friends, no
direction in life, and he most certainly has no filter. These claims become apparent throughout the
beginning of the story and towards the middle when the man speaks of an expected visitor, Robert, his
wife s old friend who happens to be blind, and brutally launches his narrow minded prejudices
towards the old man. The story presents an ironic twist as the reader begins to realize that despite the
blind man s disability, he appears to have a far greater sense of vision than the narrator and is even
somewhat successful in kindling a newly found compassion within the heart of the narrator.
One would believe that a man with sight would find it less tasking to communicate and connect with
those around him than one without sight, but in this particular story the reader discovers that

Freedom Vs. Enslavement
The topic I chose to examine in this novel in freedom vs enslavement. I chose this topic because in the
first two chapters it becomes evident that the people have no say in what they do, they are born with a
specific purpose. The Hatcheries and the idea of scientifically creating a baby in a factory and
conditioning them to act a certain way were introduced. The ten controllers have total freedom and
rule the world, but people in the Gamma, Beta, Delta, and Epsilon castes are slaves of the controllers,
conditioned into whatever person the controllers want or would benefit the economy. The Alphas have
a bit of freedom because they were conditioned to have a higher intellect which makes it hard for them
to accept all of the rules of society, but they were still made that way because the controllers wanted
them to be. My tentative thesis is: Enslavement from the beginning of your existence creates an
illusion of freedom. There are several supports for this thesis in the beginning of the novel when the
Hatcheries are explained. Some embryos are conditioned by going through hot tunnels followed by
cold tunnels paired with the discomfort of hard X rays to ensure that they grow up hating the cold.
These embryos are predestined to move to the tropics and work as miners or acetate silk spinners or
steel workers. The Delta babies are conditioned with loud noises and ... Show more content on

Everyone in the novel so far seems pretty content with the way things work and they are conditioned
to not rebel or question authority. I predict that there will be a person from the Alpha caste that will
stand up though and question the controllers processes. Another challenge I may face is trying to
follow and understand the society that they are living in where babies and embryos are produced in a
factory and can be conditioned into whatever the controller

Free Will And Determinism In Groundhog Day
In the award winning movie Groundhog Day, we are presented with a peculiar situation where Phil
(Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over. As the film progresses Phil is fathomed by the
events occurring and lives out each day as he pleases. Correspondingly, there are zero consequences
for his actions. Death, crime nor love has the ability to change the never ending Déjà vu that Phil
relives every day. At the same time; Phil has no free will in reliving Groundhog day, but does he have
free will on his actions and how he spends his time on that day? Or is each action pre determined?
These are interesting concepts that will bring us to the issues that will be discussed throughout this
paper. Do we truly have free will on our actions or are they previously determined for us? Free will
and Determinism offer us different views on how we can perceive the ultimate course of our actions
and life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Free will is the philosophical idea that we have the power to think, choose and act voluntary without
any external factors. To believe in free will one believes that we are agents who are capable of making
decisions that can alter our course of action regardless of external factors and antecedent conditions.
Do not confuse free will with political freedom, which is called liberty. In 1924, two Chicago
teenagers, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold kidnapped and murdered a boy named Bobby Franks.
Loeb and Leopold were two bright college graduates with what looked like very promising futures.
With this in mind; why would two bright young men commit such an act? When asked their response
was just to prove they could . To prove that they could ;indeed, do any action they aspired to do on
their own free will. To defend the young men their parents hired Clarence Darrow; which at the time,
was one of the most famous and well known lawyers. Darrow once said to a group of inmates

Analysis Of The Secretary Of Labor V Performance...
It is alarming to know that each year there are over 4,500 scaffold injuries and 65 deaths
(Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], 2016). In addition, there is a high risk for
construction workers to be struck from objects falling off scaffolds. With these facts in mind, the
Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission s (OSHRC) 2013 case of the Secretary of Labor
v Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) raises questions as to why violations of OSHA s scaffold
standards are sometimes considered other than serious. Understanding that OSHA gives the Secretary
of Labor the tasks of rulemaking and enforcement of its rules, it also gives the task of carrying out the
legal process to the commission which both parties accepted, as well as PCI engaging as a business
affecting interstate commerce (Secretary of Labor v. PCI, 2013, pp. 2 3). Knowledge of the case s
background, parties involved, arguments presented, cases used to reach a verdict, and final ruling
provide insight to the penalties assessed, significance, and personal opinion. As detailed in OSHRC s
Docket No. 11 3095, a trial was held in the case of the Secretary of Labor, the plaintiff, v PCI, the
defendant, on February 28, 2013 in Portland, Oregon before the Administrative Law Judge Patrick B.
Augustine. According to court documents, PCI was hired by general contractor, Penta, to do
installation work at the Indian Head casino. Since PCI needed scaffolds, the company hired Scaffold

How Productive Routines Allow Students Develop Their Own...
Productive routines allow students to develop their own sense of organization and structure in their
lives. I will have subjects color coded and organized throughout my classroom. After every lesson, I
will have students get out their assignment notebooks and write homework assignments and important
dates in it. This routine is a recap for students and reminds them what to take home, complete, or relay
any information to their parents. Other effective routines would consist of how students signal to get
attention, time allotted for quiet reading and reflection, when to go to the restroom or elsewhere, and
how they line up when leaving the classroom. I also believe students get a little off track over the
weekend, and I would set up a routine Monday morning to go over what we have learned and what is
to be expected in the classroom for the week. Students like consistency because they feel safe and
know what to expect each day. I would have a daily agenda, and how we move from one activity to
another, procedures, and expectations would be consistent. I also believe in having a pre test and a
post test for each chapter so students have a sense of what they can expect and what they need to
improve on. Students thrive in organized and consistent environments, in my future classroom I would
like the daily schedule, breaks, expectations, and consequences to be consistent. It is very important to
be consistent on how I react to classroom behavior and consequences. I must maintain

JUDICIAL REVIEW AND THE INDIAN COURTS
Introduction
Judicial Review is basically an aspect of judicial power of the state which is exercised by the courts to
determine the validity of a rule of law or an action of any agency of the state. The courts have the
power of testing the validity of legislative as well as other governmental action with reference to the
provisions of the constitution. The judiciary tries to undo the harm that is being done by the legislature
and executive and they also try to provide every citizen what has been guaranteed by the constitution.
Judicial review has a more technical significance in public law, ... Show more content on

Judicial Review in India
The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution than the British.
Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its powers are limited in the two ways.
First, there is the division of powers between the union and the states. Parliament is allowed to pass
laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of
legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by
the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific provisions in the Indian
constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13, 32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254
and 372.
Judicial review is a great weapon given to the judges. It includes the power of a court to hold illegal
and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or some other activity by an open power
which is conflicting or in clash with the fundamental law that must be adhered to. Truth be told, the
investigation of constitutional law may be depicted as an investigation of the precept of judicial
review in action. The courts have force to strike down any law, on the off chance that they trust it to be
unconstitutional. In the case I.R. Coelho v. State of Tamil Nadu the court laid down a

This is a proposal for CIO manufacturing training exercises set to begin later this year. In this

kind of time and resources will be needed to accomplish our goal of training our management on the

Training software will need to be purchased to account for the training exercises and these will total
an estimated 400 dollars.
Actual training will take place over two days so that we can house a large number of employees while
working very quickly at training them efficiently. Duration estimated were decided by looking at
average training times used by similar businesses and the type of training we are trying to achieve.
The overall project budget will be split into 4 quarters to highlight the expenses needed at each time
frame. This will help to breakdown the overall budget into smaller more manageable expenses to get
more detail into what is being spent and what it is being spent on. These quarterly expenditures will do
a lot to keep costs as efficient as possible and provide a closer look at how these resources are being
divided. There will be a total of 15 managers participating in this training exercise and each one will
have things such as hardware resources, food, flight expenditures as well as trainers and consultants to
help them along the way. This will leave nothing left to chance and provide all available resources to
complete the training in a fast and efficient way. While many of these figures are close estimates there
will be unused expenses toward the end to allow for fourth quarter expenses to be provided for if need
be. The three month project will account for all stages of the training process from beginning to end

Essay on Optical Fiber Corp Case Analysis
Case Analysis:
Optical Fiber Corporation
Introduction
Optical Fiber Corporation (OFC) is a financially successful, albeit relatively small manufacturer of
multimode optical fibers. The company was founded in 1990. The founders were able to enter the
market largely on the basis of acquiring patent licenses from larger optical fiber firms. These licenses
restricted competition between the entities and provided OFC with instant access to optical fiber
technology. In return, OFC s customer base is limited by the license agreements and royalties of 7%
on sales of licensed products (recently renegotiated to 9%) are paid to the licensors. Despite these
handicaps the firm has grown in size and profitability. OFC makes several types ... Show more content

New firms entering the market will be free to produce the products once protected under those patents
without having incurred any R and D costs. These firms will also be free from royalty payments to
licensors or any restrictive covenants such as those under which OFC operates.
The industry in general, and OFC in particular, must contend with the purchasing power of its buyers.
Optical fiber is converted into optical fiber cable. In the United States there are twenty companies that
perform this function. OFC sells over 70% of their fiber to just three. The loss of any of these accounts
could be devastating for OFC and places them in a weak position when negotiating prices, at least
when the products are those which are readily available from other multimode fiber producers. It is
doubtful that switching costs would be high for buyers. Favoring OFC and the optical fiber market are
the projections for increased demand for multimode optical fibers at least through the mid 2000 s.
Sources of increased demand for multimode fiber are anticipated to include: cable TV, undersea
cables, local area networks (LAN) as well as general data communications growth such as computer
uses.
As noted the single mode optical fiber market is much larger than the multimode market. It too, is
expected to see significant growth over the next several years. Single mode fibers

Using customer satisfaction surveys would be a great market research tool for Dyer to use to identify the types of new programs his customers are looking for. Diversification in NOCO s target markets is another avenue for Dyer to explore to expand his business. Consumers in Colorado are very interested in soccer. Is there enough interest to warrant developing adult soccer teams? Is there a market for toddler soccer training? What about a childcare program for younger kids so parents can watch older kids compete in the tournaments? Dyer needs to hit the pavement in his community and in the neighboring communities to get first hand feedback from the demographics he is targeting. In order to increase awareness of his business in the towns adjacent to Fort Collins, Dyer could host recruiting events in Loveland, Longmont and Greeley. With the information he gathers at those events he could consider the viability of bussing new customers to Fort Collins or offering camps outside his home base. This type of market development could be instrumental in growing NOCO into the recognizable brand that Dyer wants it to be. From the British preventing the colonists rights to the separate but equal doctrine people used to justify discrimination against African Americans, America has had its fair share of it. After years of the mockery of equality that African Americans had, change was needed. Out of the thousands of voices who brought the winds of change, that were heard the most were: Martin Luther King Jr., for convincing people to join their cause; Thurgood Marshall, who used the law to get people to listen to their voices; and the Silent Majority, for without them, freedom would never truly ring from every mountainside. In this assumption, Pyle believes that the Soviets are controlling the Vietnamese and forcing them under a communist government, which is parallel to the United States idea that Ho Chi Minh was a puppet for Stalin and the Soviet Union. Rather than pursuing his own goals, Pyle believes that communism would build Vietnam into a satellite nation for the Soviet Union. • 18. functionalism Functionalism has given a useful understanding of society, despite its limitations. Functionalists describe society using an organic analogy; they say society is like a biological organism. Parsons found three similarities between society and an organism. System organisms such as the human body and society are both self regulating and inter related, independent parts fit together in fixed ways. In the body these are organs; in society they are institutions, such as family and education. Both organisms have system needs for example an organism needs nutrition without which it would die. Social systems have basic needs for example members of society need to be socialised. Both society and organisms function to contribute to meeting the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parsons describes adaption and goal attainment as instrumental needs, to the means to an end, such as producing food to sustain the population. He describes integration and latency as expressive needs as they involve channelling emotions. By carrying out their respective functions the four sub systems ensure that society s needs are met and social stability maintained. Parsons identified two types of society, traditional and modern. Each type has its own typical pattern of norms. Within each type the variables fit together, for example in modern society students are expected to pursue their own self interests, achieved status through efforts in education, attained through deferred gratification. They are all judged by the universal standard of exams. Contrastingly in traditional society an individual s status is ascribed at birth and they re expected to put their kinships interest before their own, called collective orientation. Parsons argues change is a gradual, evolutionary process of increasing complexity and structural differentiation. The organic analogy is relevant here. Organisms have evolved from simple structures to complex organisms with different parts performing its own specialised function. Similarly societies move from simple to complex structures. For example in traditional society a single institution, the kinship system, performs many functions. Billions of dollars are put to research on psychiatric disorders every year. Although from time to time new methods of treatment are followed by researchers. However the results and the efficiency of treatment are almost bleak. In brain sciences the problems which we start with before hundred years are almost as such and with psychiatry it becomes more compounded. We are not yet able to control the psychiatric problems even with 21st century advances in the medical science. From time to time the scientists use multiple approaches in understanding the puzzles in relation to the brain and its functions. Though we make a small progress towards understanding or close to understanding such puzzles. • 22. The Liberation Of The Heart By Raymond Carver Blindness does not merely limit itself to the eyes: it can plague the most profound depths of the heart as well. When a man closes off one of the most vital veins to his heart, compassion, he too can find himself lost in the bleak and somber tundra of mere existence. The liberation of the heart is a liberation which some cannot easily attain. In many instances, the heart may require an influence or spark that revives the compassion that is lacking. In Raymond Carver s Cathedral, the author takes this notion of intervention and demonstrates it through the tale of a vulgar and callous man who seems to lack even the slightest amount of compassion for anyone. The man appears to have no friends, no direction in life, and he most certainly has no filter. These claims become apparent throughout the beginning of the story and towards the middle when the man speaks of an expected visitor, Robert, his wife s old friend who happens to be blind, and brutally launches his narrow minded prejudices towards the old man. The story presents an ironic twist as the reader begins to realize that despite the blind man s disability, he appears to have a far greater sense of vision than the narrator and is even somewhat successful in kindling a newly found compassion within the heart of the narrator. One would believe that a man with sight would find it less tasking to communicate and connect with those around him than one without sight, but in this particular story the reader discovers that ... • 25. Freedom Vs. Enslavement The topic I chose to examine in this novel in freedom vs enslavement. I chose this topic because in the first two chapters it becomes evident that the people have no say in what they do, they are born with a specific purpose. The Hatcheries and the idea of scientifically creating a baby in a factory and conditioning them to act a certain way were introduced. The ten controllers have total freedom and rule the world, but people in the Gamma, Beta, Delta, and Epsilon castes are slaves of the controllers, conditioned into whatever person the controllers want or would benefit the economy. The Alphas have a bit of freedom because they were conditioned to have a higher intellect which makes it hard for them to accept all of the rules of society, but they were still made that way because the controllers wanted them to be. My tentative thesis is: Enslavement from the beginning of your existence creates an illusion of freedom. There are several supports for this thesis in the beginning of the novel when the Hatcheries are explained. Some embryos are conditioned by going through hot tunnels followed by cold tunnels paired with the discomfort of hard X rays to ensure that they grow up hating the cold. These embryos are predestined to move to the tropics and work as miners or acetate silk spinners or steel workers. The Delta babies are conditioned with loud noises and ... I predict that there will be a person from the Alpha caste that will stand up though and question the controllers processes. Another challenge I may face is trying to follow and understand the society that they are living in where babies and embryos are produced in a factory and can be conditioned into whatever the controller ... • 26. Free Will And Determinism In Groundhog Day In the award winning movie Groundhog Day, we are presented with a peculiar situation where Phil (Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over. As the film progresses Phil is fathomed by the events occurring and lives out each day as he pleases. Correspondingly, there are zero consequences for his actions. Death, crime nor love has the ability to change the never ending Déjà vu that Phil relives every day. At the same time; Phil has no free will in reliving Groundhog day, but does he have free will on his actions and how he spends his time on that day? Or is each action pre determined? These are interesting concepts that will bring us to the issues that will be discussed throughout this paper. Do we truly have free will on our actions or are they previously determined for us? Free will and Determinism offer us different views on how we can perceive the ultimate course of our actions and life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Free will is the philosophical idea that we have the power to think, choose and act voluntary without any external factors. To believe in free will one believes that we are agents who are capable of making decisions that can alter our course of action regardless of external factors and antecedent conditions. Do not confuse free will with political freedom, which is called liberty. In 1924, two Chicago teenagers, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold kidnapped and murdered a boy named Bobby Franks. Loeb and Leopold were two bright college graduates with what looked like very promising futures. With this in mind; why would two bright young men commit such an act? When asked their response was just to prove they could . To prove that they could ;indeed, do any action they aspired to do on their own free will. To defend the young men their parents hired Clarence Darrow; which at the time, was one of the most famous and well known lawyers. Darrow once said to a group of inmates ... • 28. Analysis Of The Secretary Of Labor V Performance... It is alarming to know that each year there are over 4,500 scaffold injuries and 65 deaths (Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], 2016). In addition, there is a high risk for construction workers to be struck from objects falling off scaffolds. With these facts in mind, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission s (OSHRC) 2013 case of the Secretary of Labor v Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) raises questions as to why violations of OSHA s scaffold standards are sometimes considered other than serious. Understanding that OSHA gives the Secretary of Labor the tasks of rulemaking and enforcement of its rules, it also gives the task of carrying out the legal process to the commission which both parties accepted, as well as PCI engaging as a business affecting interstate commerce (Secretary of Labor v. PCI, 2013, pp. 2 3). Knowledge of the case s background, parties involved, arguments presented, cases used to reach a verdict, and final ruling provide insight to the penalties assessed, significance, and personal opinion. As detailed in OSHRC s Docket No. 11 3095, a trial was held in the case of the Secretary of Labor, the plaintiff, v PCI, the defendant, on February 28, 2013 in Portland, Oregon before the Administrative Law Judge Patrick B. Augustine. According to court documents, PCI was hired by general contractor, Penta, to do installation work at the Indian Head casino. • 29. How Productive Routines Allow Students Develop Their Own... Productive routines allow students to develop their own sense of organization and structure in their lives. I will have subjects color coded and organized throughout my classroom. After every lesson, I will have students get out their assignment notebooks and write homework assignments and important dates in it. This routine is a recap for students and reminds them what to take home, complete, or relay any information to their parents. Other effective routines would consist of how students signal to get attention, time allotted for quiet reading and reflection, when to go to the restroom or elsewhere, and how they line up when leaving the classroom. I also believe students get a little off track over the weekend, and I would set up a routine Monday morning to go over what we have learned and what is to be expected in the classroom for the week. Students like consistency because they feel safe and know what to expect each day. I would have a daily agenda, and how we move from one activity to another, procedures, and expectations would be consistent. I also believe in having a pre test and a post test for each chapter so students have a sense of what they can expect and what they need to improve on. Students thrive in organized and consistent environments, in my future classroom I would like the daily schedule, breaks, expectations, and consequences to be consistent. It is very important to be consistent on how I react to classroom behavior and consequences. I must maintain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Judicial Review And The Indian Courts Political Science Essay Monsoon Semester 2014 Submitted by Pradyumna Soni 214048 JUDICIAL REVIEW AND THE INDIAN COURTS Introduction Judicial Review is basically an aspect of judicial power of the state which is exercised by the courts to determine the validity of a rule of law or an action of any agency of the state. The courts have the power of testing the validity of legislative as well as other governmental action with reference to the provisions of the constitution. The judiciary tries to undo the harm that is being done by the legislature and executive and they also try to provide every citizen what has been guaranteed by the constitution. Judicial review has a more technical significance in public law, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Judicial Review in India The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution than the British. Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its powers are limited in the two ways. First, there is the division of powers between the union and the states. Parliament is allowed to pass laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific provisions in the Indian constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13, 32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254 and 372. Judicial review is a great weapon given to the judges. It includes the power of a court to hold illegal and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or some other activity by an open power which is conflicting or in clash with the fundamental law that must be adhered to. Truth be told, the investigation of constitutional law may be depicted as an investigation of the precept of judicial review in action. The courts have force to strike down any law, on the off chance that they trust it to be unconstitutional. In the case I.R. Coelho v. State of Tamil Nadu the court laid down a ... Duration estimated were decided by looking at average training times used by similar businesses and the type of training we are trying to achieve. The overall project budget will be split into 4 quarters to highlight the expenses needed at each time frame. This will help to breakdown the overall budget into smaller more manageable expenses to get more detail into what is being spent and what it is being spent on. These quarterly expenditures will do a lot to keep costs as efficient as possible and provide a closer look at how these resources are being divided. There will be a total of 15 managers participating in this training exercise and each one will have things such as hardware resources, food, flight expenditures as well as trainers and consultants to help them along the way. This will leave nothing left to chance and provide all available resources to complete the training in a fast and efficient way. • 32. Essay on Optical Fiber Corp Case Analysis Case Analysis: Optical Fiber Corporation Introduction Optical Fiber Corporation (OFC) is a financially successful, albeit relatively small manufacturer of multimode optical fibers. The company was founded in 1990. The founders were able to enter the market largely on the basis of acquiring patent licenses from larger optical fiber firms. These licenses restricted competition between the entities and provided OFC with instant access to optical fiber technology. In return, OFC s customer base is limited by the license agreements and royalties of 7% on sales of licensed products (recently renegotiated to 9%) are paid to the licensors. Despite these handicaps the firm has grown in size and profitability. OFC makes several types ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New firms entering the market will be free to produce the products once protected under those patents without having incurred any R and D costs. These firms will also be free from royalty payments to licensors or any restrictive covenants such as those under which OFC operates. The industry in general, and OFC in particular, must contend with the purchasing power of its buyers. Optical fiber is converted into optical fiber cable. In the United States there are twenty companies that perform this function. OFC sells over 70% of their fiber to just three. The loss of any of these accounts could be devastating for OFC and places them in a weak position when negotiating prices, at least when the products are those which are readily available from other multimode fiber producers. It is doubtful that switching costs would be high for buyers. Favoring OFC and the optical fiber market are the projections for increased demand for multimode optical fibers at least through the mid 2000 s. Sources of increased demand for multimode fiber are anticipated to include: cable TV, undersea cables, local area networks (LAN) as well as general data communications growth such as computer uses. As noted the single mode optical fiber market is much larger than the multimode market. It too, is expected to see significant growth over the next several years. Single mode fibers ...
