THE LOGO - FONTS After looking at similar media products, I found that all the logo’s used were in simple fonts. Although, I have still not decided whether to conform to the usual convention or be different and use a more interesting font. Here are some of the fonts I have tried out: This font reflects elegance and sophistication, which fits the brand. The joint letters also makes the name flow nicely giving it a relaxed and inviting feel. This font is clear and readable and not modern, which is a plus as it gives the name a more vintage feel. This  font, like the first also fits the brand as it has an exclusive feel with its joint letters and posh swirls. This font reminds me of the one used in the ‘La Tasca’ logo. ‘La Tasca’ is a Mediterranean restaurant, which reflects the good life. So this could be an option.  This font  is easy to read and looks hand written which gives it a relaxed and inviting feel. This font is all in capital letters which makes the logo stand out . It also has a showbiz feel which touches upon the brand although the bit capital letters and shadows does not look relaxed or inviting. This font is basic and modern, which is readable and clear but does not at all reflect the brand of the newspaper. This font is exciting and different which could attract  readers eyes, although it does not flow enough to reflect the brand of  the newspaper.
THE LOGO - FILLS Now I have found and decided on a suitable font, I must now decide on what colour or fill I would like use. I will have to find a fill that suits the font, the colour scheme I have decided on and one that will attract readers. This fill looks metallic golden which symbolises wealth, which is all part of the brand. Although the blurry edges make it quite hard to read This deep red fill  is simple, classic and stands out, although it  could be mistaken for the Coca Cola logo, due to the similar font and colour. This fill is exciting and stands out, although the 3 colours involved could symbolise water, which does tie in with the brand. This fill is simple, classic and classy. Although, it might be too fine and it has a shine which could mean it is not bold enough. This fill uses different tones of orange and reminds me of the sun. The se colours bring up images of holidays, which keeps to the brand.
THE LOGO – FILLS CONT. This fill is classic and has an exclusive feel, although the white lines make the name slightly hard to read. This fill is different and an unusual colour, although it may not stand out enough. This fill uses gold and black colours which some people say isn’t a good mix, so the readers could dislike it and not pick it up. Although there is a glare at the top which makes the logo not stand out enough. This fill is simple, classic and classy. It has a metallic look and would stand out as a logo. This font reflects elegance and sophistication, which fits the brand. The joint letters also makes the name flow nicely giving it a relaxed and inviting feel.
Chosen logo This is my chosen logo. I chose it because it is much different than any other newspaper logo around at the moment. This makes the logo stand out from other newspapers therefore making the newspaper as a whole appear different, which would attract new readers, bored of the conventional standard newspapers. The swirls reflect elegance, wealth and coolness which would attract a wider demographic ranging from cool popular young men to the older ‘Essex wives’ in the West Essex area.
