Question 1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products ? Movie Trailer / Poster / Magazine
Movie Link to movie; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GayY_46iHBQ Thriller “Based on true events” Variety of camera angles/shots Soundtrack made with ‘Garageband’ on macs.
Poster Photoshop was the main source for creativity (tools, editing) Public opinion / My opinion Compare to real media products.
Magazine Photoshop used again (editing/tools) Compared to real media products My opinion/public opinion
Summary of Question 1
Question 2 How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? Poster/Magazine create suspense shown in the trailer Poster definitely brings out the thriller genre which I wanted to create in the movie. Magazine cover seems suspicious but I tried to be real and use an interview as the main feature of the magazine.
Question 3 What have you learned from your audience feedback? Poster is professional People wanted to know if it will be made professionally due to my realistic poster Movie trailer tells the story rather than show off the film itself ‘Soundtrack goes on a bit’ Magazine holds all conventions of a real media product but it is too simple to be professional
Question 4 How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? Internet played a vital role. Watched thriller films/trailers Picked up a few magazines Gazed at film posters for hours Editing skills developed throughout

  • 7. Question 2 How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? Poster/Magazine create suspense shown in the trailer Poster definitely brings out the thriller genre which I wanted to create in the movie. Magazine cover seems suspicious but I tried to be real and use an interview as the main feature of the magazine.
  • 8. Question 3 What have you learned from your audience feedback? Poster is professional People wanted to know if it will be made professionally due to my realistic poster Movie trailer tells the story rather than show off the film itself ‘Soundtrack goes on a bit’ Magazine holds all conventions of a real media product but it is too simple to be professional
