The Fulfillment Of The Abrahamic Covenant
The Pentatuach offers the reader hope in the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant because
It all began in the covenant with Abraham, God promised many things to him. God promised
numerous descendants, land, and a relationship with him. God s first blessing would provide Abraham
with numerous descendants, which in turn would become a great nation. His second blessing would
provide him and his family with a place to call home. His third blessing states that Abraham will have
a relationship with God. This means that, anyone who blesses Abraham will be blessed by God,
anyone that curses him will be cursed. In return for all of these promises, Abraham and all of his male
members and descendants were circumcised to let God know that they belong to him.
We can believe that the Abrahamic covenant would be fulfilled when, God called Abraham to leave
his country, relatives, and family to go to the land that he was going to be given. God said, I will make
you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.
The land that the Lord took Abraham too, was the land that would be given to him and his
descendants. After Abraham was gone, his descendants would be in possession of the land.
Abraham had a vision, where God promised to protect him. Abraham had a hard time believing that
him and his wife would ever have children. God told Abraham that the amount of descendants that he
would have, is equivalent to the amount of stars in the sky.

Information Flowing Through The Bla-To-Pl Projection May
Information flowing through the BLA to PL projection may be the dominant route for reward
behavior. PL is important for the enhancement in reward seeking behavior when the deprived animal
is re exposed to the previously rewarding context (reinstatement)(Gourley Taylor, 2016). PL is also
important for discriminative reward seeking(Sangha et al., 2014). The BLA PL projection is important
for reinstatement. BLA modulates the activity of PL responding to the CS (Gourley Taylor, 2016).
Both IL and PL of the mPFC has reciprocal projections with the BLA. It is unclear the functional
contribution of projections in the reciprocal direction such as PL to BLA projection in fear learning,

During learning, many physiological changes can be found to correlate with behaviors. However
neural correlates that are not part of the dominant circuit may play a modulatory role in affecting
learning rate, or it can have no effect on behavior as they may simply be passive relays from other
structures. Critical structures and their projections are major contributors as the absence of any one of
them will abolish behavior. Dysregulations that abolish behavioral performance must be either part of
or at least influencing critical structures on the circuit. Focusing on circuits that contain only the
necessary components is critical to narrow the search for malfunctioning elements that lead to
downstream changes and cause behavioral impairment. Results from these aims would refine the
current circuit underlying SFRLD. In turn, this information would be vital for electrophysiologically
monitor information flow from major contributors throughout the pathway and set the stage for
identifying cellular level abnormalities from critical structures. In order to restore the behavioral
impairment in safety acquisition and reward regulation, treatment for PTSD AD will need to rescue
dysregulations in the critical structures or pathways.
Innovation
Most studies look at fear and reward learning separately (Janak Tye, 2015). The research proposed

Understanding Labor Relations And Collective Bargaining
Understanding Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining In the video, Understanding Labor
Relations and Collective Bargaining , Donald Carty, CEO of American Airlines at that time, expresses
the disappointment of the many executives in a union environment face in regards to labor costs.
Shortly after this video, Mr. Carty had announced executive retention bonuses and pension protection
right after most union members had already voted to accept over $1 billion worth of wage and benefit
concessions (Zellner, 2003). Needless to say, this didn t brief too well to the point that two of the three
unions were calling for new votes (Zellner, 2003). Mr. Carty claimed that it was merely to keep the
company out of bankruptcy. So, if the labor costs were part of American Airlines restructuring before
the contract negotiations as Mr. Carty had stated, what other preparations would have the company
took prior to the negotiation process? What federal government agencies were involved in the labor
relations? And what type of response would be expected from the unions that represent American
Airlines employees after comments such as the ones Mr. Carty stated? Preparations Prior to a
Negotiation Process Preparation for any negotiation should start with a number of steps designed to
develop your negotiating strategy (Lynn, 2002). The company should have reviewed union agendas
from previous negotiations, if there were any. This would have allowed them to analyze arguments
made by both

Colorism-Skin Tone Discrimination In The Makeup Industry...
For decades, makeup companies have treated foundation shades like a high end, exclusive VIP club
that women of color cannot get into. Representation in the beauty industry is a continued issue that no
makeup company can seem to get right. While the spectrum of foundation shades have widen, the
makeup counter has not changed much. There is a major misunderstanding between makeup industries
and women of color. This is a result of the lack of understanding of the needs of the diverse consumer.
There is an absence of knowledge and empathy for others that are not white. When we consider these
factors we have to think about the creators of these products. Often times they do not look like us, so
how can we expect for them to meet our needs. This form of discrimination can place a direct
discouragement on women of color s self esteem. This exclusion in an attempt to purchase foundation
for their skin tone is what race relation s specialist, Nadra Kareem Nittle calls colorism. In her article
What Is Colorism Skin Tone Discrimination in America, she describes colorism as the disadvantage
dark skinned people face, while privileging those with lighter skin. Colorism is rooted in slavery, as
slave owners typically gave preferential treatment to slaves with fairer skin complexions, while dark
skinned slaves faced harsher mistreatment out in the fields. Makeup companies favor their white
counterparts, often only providing a few shades that do not meet the needs of women of color.

The Broadway Musical Hamilton By Lin Manuel Miranda
Oftentimes people have a difficult time connecting with history. They do not see the relevance
between something hundreds of years ago and today s issues. The Broadway musical Hamilton by Lin
Manuel Miranda does a great job of bridging that gap. Many of the issues that were faced in the time
period of Alexander Hamilton are also faced in the world today. An example of this is politicians
riding the fence on important issues. A main character in the play is criticized greatly for doing this
just as people are currently. In Miranda s Hamilton, characters are faced with issues and are asked to
take a stand just as political leaders are today. Hamilton had a rough childhood and did not have many
opportunities where he came from. His family, friends, and neighbors decided that he needed to go to
the mainland to get an education. It was then that he was able to make a name for himself and he
began to climb the social and political ladders. If Hamilton would have stayed in his hometown he
would not have been able to do anything that he accomplished in his life. The world we live in today
is having to make similar decisions. With the Olympics going on currently, viewers are learning many
new facts about athletes from around the world. Andre De Grasse, for example, is originally from
Ontario Canada. He proved that he is one of the fastest men in the world when he won bronze in the
100 meter final. De Grasse has always been fast but did not have the opportunities to compete on a

without plants or forest trees. Colombia is a country with a lot of deforestation. The trees in this
tropical forest are disappearing. People are killing and removing trees for coca. In Bolivia, there is a
forest protection law near the border. In Venezuela, there is destruction in the forests but the
government does nothing. The Venezuelan government does not teach emotion about deforestation.

Bourgeoise In The Communist Manifesto
The Communist Manifesto first came about as a result of the economic and political chaos. Within the
document, it distinguishes the class stratification and the struggles within. Also within the Communist
Manifesto, it was clear that the production of development involving the lower class (proletariat) and
the middle class (bourgeoise) was its clear focus. The document then discusses the class struggles of
both the proletariat and the bourgeoise, and soon shows how one class over powers the other. This
would soon develop a new form of freedom for the rest of the society. The basic argument of the
Communist Manifesto is the struggles within the classes. The bourgeoise was commonly known as the
property owners and the proletariat was commonly known as the workers. The class struggle begins
with the bourgeoisies. The bourgeoisies society was created from the ruins of the feudal society, they
had the advantage of not only progression of industrial commerce, but they also had the advantage of
convenient transportation. Due to the advantage of transportation, the bourgeoisies were very popular
within distributions to other countries. This was a problem because due to the mass production and
transportation of trade between two regions, this created competition ... Show more content on

It gave us an insight on how class consciousness is required to create a well organized production
society. When a society has class consciousness, it gives them an advantage of team work. When they
are aware of their class, they understand what is happening around them and also see themselves as a
group with common interest to work together as a whole, rather than individual. This shows us that if
it was productive in history, it would more likely be beneficial to our society today if we were more
aware of our class to create an organized

Human Intelligence And The Biomedical Engineering Field
Vernor Vinge states, I have argued above that we cannot prevent the Singularity, that its coming is an
inevitable consequence of the humans natural competitiveness and the possibilities inherent in
technology. Technological singularity is on the verge of having a massive breakthrough but are we
ready for what it brings? Raymond Kurzweil, an American author, believes that singularity will
emerge in 2045. Technological singularity is an event in which artificial intelligent machines go
beyond human intelligence and have the possibility to redesign themselves. Scientific development
and enhancement is in our daily lives. The concept of creating intelligent machines was almost
deemed impossible but in the last decade, researchers and scientists have shown beyond doubt that
creating intelligent machines is possible. These artificial intelligent machines produce potential
benefits and problems in the biomedical engineering field, a field where scientists should not continue
to work to on due to the dangers this field poses. In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, an
inspired man by the name of Victor Frankenstein believed that he could create new life. Victor had
excessive self pride and had an idea that he could create this perfect creation of a human that would
obey his every command. Once Frankenstein accomplishes his goal and creates new life, his creation
looks more like a colossal brute. His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries

Coyne Evolution
In the first chapter, Coyne discusses the basic concept outline of evolution, and brings clarity to the
common misconceptions thought and said about how the science works, and the large misuse of the
word theory. The first chapter of this book also defines very carefully each of the main hypothesis of
evolutionary theory. Which stands in dissimilarity to many other treatments of evolution, which all
have a propensity to confuse some readers by integrating different meanings of the word. Coyne also
divides Darwinism into six components. They are: evolution which means change over time,
gradualism which is a policy of slower change rather than sudden change or a revolution, speciation
which is the evolutionary process where a new biological species ... Show more content on

time appealing the creationists directly or discrediting most of their arguments, but as an alternative
gently persuades the reader by evidently and simply describing and clarifying the overpowering
evidence that evolution occurred, much like Darwin did many years ago. Just like that, Coyne s book
is a brilliantly stable approach that is moderately persuasive without being argumentative, and does
work well for those people who are sitting on the fence about the fact of

The Adventure Of The Speckled Band
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the author of the story The Adventure of the Speckled Band . In The
Adventure of the Speckled Band the main characters are Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Helen Stoner,
and Dr. Roylott. The story takes place in April 1883 at the Roylott, Stoke Maron Manor. The
exposition is when Helen thoroughly explained her case to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The
main conflict is Helen Stoner fears for her life and has suspicions about her sister s death on the eve of
her marriage. After Helen enlightened the two detectives on her predicament, Helen was informed that
her case was extremely dire and she should be aware of the dangers of being in the house. The first
rising action is when Sherlock Holmes tells Helen Stoner how important it is that Dr. Watson and he
go to investigate her residence that day. The following rising action is when Sherlock Holmes and Dr.
Watson are confronted by Dr. Roylott, who threatened Sherlock and told him to stay away from the
Roylott, Stoke Maron Manor. Helen became cautious and fearful after becoming aware of the dangers
of her situation. Sherlock became focused after the conference with Helen Stoner. The characters
understood that Dr. Roylott was insane and had the potential to have planned the murder of his step
daughter, Julia. The first interwoven conflict which is Sherlock vs. Dr. Roylott began by Dr. Roylott
threatening Sherlock after the meeting with Helen. The interwoven conflict is man vs. man since it

Research Paper On Microsoft Powerpoint
Corporations across the globe consider the ability to deliver PowerPoint presentations in the business
world an invaluable survival tool (Worley Dyrud, 2004). Microsoft PowerPoint is a software which
allows users to create informative and engaging slideshow presentations to its audience via laptop,
projector, or over the internet (Coulthard, 2017). This software has numerous features to assist the user
in developing quick and easy presentations, such as choosing to use predesigned templates, adding
notes to slides, as well as previewing the presentation on screen prior to presenting it. Applying these
three features to a user s PowerPoint slideshow can aide in creating a professional and informative

The text in the slides were minimal in nature and to the point, but gave me just enough reference
material to ad lib on the process of completing the evaluations. Having predesigned templates to
choose from made developing the PowerPoint an easier and quicker process.
Another feature offered in PowerPoint is the ability to add notes to a slide. Notes can be added to the
slide so the presenter can elaborate to the audience any additional information that goes with the slide.
However, the notes do not fit on the slides (Bethel University, 2017). Slides only allow minimal
information to fit on each one or they can become too busy and distracting to the audience. Therefore,
the additional notes can contain the details that are not on the slide. Notes can be viewed two ways.
They can be viewed in the Note pane in normal view, or the Notes Page view (Bethel University,
2017). The Note pane works best if the user has only a few notes to type. These notes will not be
visible to the audience, but merely a reference for the presenter. Unfortunately, prior to my employee
evaluation class, I was not aware of the Note pane or Notes Page. During my class I worked from
notes that I had hand written. I have taught the class on three occasions only to discover during or
after each one that I would realize something I needed to address during the presentation. Therefore, I
would just jot down a quick, sloppy hand written note. Had I been aware of this feature in PowerPoint,

The Personality Of Antisocial Personality Disorder
Today it is estimated that .6 to 4% of the general population are thought to have antisocial personality.
(Thompson, 2014) Antisocial disorder is a personality disorder in which a person may have behavioral
deficits or tendencies not accepted as normal by society s standard. Antisocial personality disorder is
sometimes also known as sociopathy. Someone who has this disorder may be called a sociopath. Some
behavioral deficits seen in sociopaths include, superficial charm, pathological lying, lack of remorse,
shallow emotions, and need for stimulation. (Horley, 2014) Unfortunately, Antisocial Disorder still has

MacKenzie discusses in her article how psychopaths are generally internally affected and experience
psychological difficulties, whereas sociopaths are not as internally affected, most of the time they are
only affected in their relationship with society (2014). To focus further on sociopathic disorder, Dr.
Paula MacKenzie discusses this history of the disorder. MacKenzie defines sociopathy as a personality
disorder characterized by a lack of social responsibility and failure to adapt to ethical and social
standards of the community (Mosby s Medical, Nursing, Allied Health Dictionary, 2002, p. 1599).
After she defines the many personality disorders she discusses in the article, she discusses how much
of the research of behavioral disorders began in the 1800 s when mental asylums became popular
(2014). The first classification of a disorder similar to sociopathy was manie sans delire or insanity
without delirium. Even though psychopathy is the disorder that is said to be genetic, there are
significant differences in the biological brains of individuals with sociopathic disorder and those
without it. In an article by Blair and Cipolotti, an individual with sociopathic disorder was studied and
assessed, and the findings are discussed. When the individual was given a CT scan, an enlarged image
of the brain was compared to that of a neuro typical individual. In the visual comparison, there is a

Jonas Change In The Giver
Things could change, Gabe, Jonas went on. Things could be different. I don t know how, but there
must be some way for things to be different. There could be colors. And grandparents, he added,
staring through the dimness toward the ceiling of his sleeping room. And everybody would have the

world is very different from the utopian society in which Jonas thought he was living in for 12 years.
Jonas from the Giver changed and matured in many ways. One notable way that Jonas changed was
through the colors he started to see when he got assigned to be The Giver. ...now he saw the familiar

Closed Reduction Speech
Introduction
A closed reduction is a procedure to align bones that have moved out of place. A knee dislocation
occurs when one of the leg bones slips out of its normal position in the knee socket. It typically
involves the bones in the lower leg (tibia or fibula) in relation to the thigh bone (femur). Knee
dislocation in a leg with an artificial (prosthetic) knee joint is not common. When this injury occurs, it
is a medical emergency that needs to be treated right away.
A closed reduction is not surgery. It is done without cutting your skin open. During a closed reduction,
a health care provider will rotate your bone and apply pressure to put the bone back into the socket.

A splint, brace, immobilizer, or cast will be placed to hold the knee in position while it heals.
The procedure may vary among health care providers and hospitals.
What happens after the procedure?
Your blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate, and blood oxygen level will be monitored until the
medicines you were given have worn off.
Imaging tests will be done to check whether there is damage to blood vessels or nerves around your
knee. This may include a test that involves injecting a special dye into your blood vessels and looking
at the dye through a CT scan (angiogram). An MRI or Doppler ultrasound could also be done.
You may need to wear the splint, brace, immobilizer, or cast for up to 6 weeks. You may be given
crutches to help you move around.
Do not drive for 24 hours if you were given a sedative.

Bach And His Life Story Of Johann Sebastian Bach
Many people admire listening to music and enjoy watching operas. Composers have the main part in
this activity and are the most important. Music listeners know many composers, including old and new
ones. There are many famous composers that have been well known for the years in the past. Some
famous composers include Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Joseph Haydn, George Fredrick Handel,
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi, and Ludwig van Beethoven. The most well known
composer would have to be Johann Sebastian Bach. Do you know of Bach and his life story?
Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Central Germany in Eisenach on March 21, 1685(2). His father,
grandfather, and great grandfather were involved with music, which made Bach destined to take part
in music(1). Before Bach was ten years old his parents has passed and he went to live with his oldest
brother(2). His brother had taught him how to play the harpsichord and the clavichord(2). At the age
of fifteen Bach had left his brother and supported himself by singing in church choir and playing the
organ and the violin and by the age of eighteen he became an organist at Arnstadt(1). A couple years
later on October 17th, 1707, Bach had got married to Maria Barbara, his second cousin, and had seven
children(1). About thirteen years later Maria had passed (1720). Then, on December 3rd, 1721 he was
remarried to a woman named Anna Magdalena, which they had 13 children(1). Moving on to Bach s

The final stakeholder could be students who attend college now. The students now want the same
thing as the students back then, to get good grades and study hard. Students now believe that libraries
are used for the internet and a quiet place to study. Most students only use library databases if it is
required by the teacher. Students today would say that Google is a reliable source and that it is easier
to use than databases. Current students have more available options than the other stakeholders
because they are a part of the new generation. Like the other stakeholders, students still use the library
even with the technology changing. Jenny Platt is currently attending CSU and is in the class of 2015.
She doesn t go to the library but if she did she said she would get on her computer and go to google to
start her research. She said she does not check books out from the library because the internet is easier

likely to start their research by using google instead of library databases and books. Out of the 32
students who responded, 27 said google, 4 said library databases and only 1

Citation: Re BWV; Ex parte Gardner (2003) 7 VR 487 Jurisdiction: Supreme Court of Victoria Morris
J. Procedural History: Supreme Court Victoria first instance decision. Facts: Judgment was passed on
the 29th May 2003. The plaintiff, the Public Advocate of Victoria was a limited guardian of BWV, a
woman aged 68 years old, who suffered from fatal and progressive dementia. The plaintiff was
appointed the guardian of BWV to make medical decisions on her behalf, due to BWV s
unconsciousness with no brain activity or bodily functions for 3 years. BWV received fluid and
nutrition required to keep her alive by percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG). BWV s brain
stem functions normally but her cortex is damaged. She has no prospect of improvement, hence
making PEG medical treatment pointless (as witnessed by 3 medical practitioners Dr. Michael Ashby;
Professor Malcolm Horne; Dr. Michael Woodward). Consulting medical professionals led to the
conclusion that upon treatment cessation, BWV ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The law effectively covers situations in which a patient can personally consider the effects of
terminated treatments, but does not provide for situations in which the patient is incompetent to
inform agents of their desires. Conflict occurs when the court requires evidence for consent to end
lifesaving medical treatment, which could be otherwise avoided should the Act be amended to
accommodate the needs of the patient (for example, conversations held in passing being held as
evidence). The Act should be amended to allow families to make the judgment rather than the patient
themselves (such as in Re BWV, Ex Parte Gardner (2003) 7 VR 487, 491[19]). Although it is possible
to make decisions on a patient s behalf, clarification by the Victorian state is needed. The legislation
fails to make distinctions between the patient s desires and what is in their best

Fujiko s Story Snow Falling On Cedars
Parents often worry about their children. Parents fight, struggle and work hard trying to be the best
they can be for their children. In the story Fujiko demonstrates her parent like attitude and her desire
to help her daughter. The story Snow Falling On Cedars demonstrates that parents sometimes go too
far, and they re desire to help can make them take on too many responsibilities for their children. Also,
being able to make your own decisions is much more valuable than having someone who can solve
things for you. These points put into perspective how helping someone can be a good thing but
teaching someone to help themselves is better.
Many parents would agree that they would bend over backwards to make sure their children are happy
and safe no matter the circumstance, but their desire to help may cause them to go overboard a bit.
Fujiko showed that she wanted to help her daughter, demonstrating her desire to be fair with her
daughter and to include her daughter in the decisions she makes, for example she gave her daughter a
chance to read the letter she had written before she sent it, and she also took into consideration her ...

Green experiment with Windows 7 Ultimate without requiring a commitment to it.
Once networked, Mr. Green s staff will need to have constant access to shared files (even when the
network goes down) and have the ability to quickly search the network for specific shared files. Staff
will also require seamless access to the cloud if the network goes down. Also, the network
administrator that Mr. Green hires will need to quickly create Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and use
tools to quickly troubleshoot potential IT issues. Mr. Green asks you if these things will be a concern
with Windows 7.
6. List and describe the features of Windows 7 Ultimate that can provide all of this functionality, if
existent.
Several years have passed, you are still providing networking consultation to Mr. Green, and his
business has successfully grown into an enterprise running a Windows Server 2008 network. You need
to install Windows 7 Enterprise and required updates, applications, etc. on a few dozen computers. Mr.
Green has a computer with Windows 7 Enterprise and applications he uses for his business installed to
use as a model for the computers he wants on his network.
7. Explain three (3) migration strategies that should be used in this scenario and how they differ from
how you performed stand alone installations of Windows 7 Ultimate a few years back.

Examples Of Ideal Beauty And The Venus Of Willendorf
Ideal Beauty and the Venus of Willendorf The Venus of Willendorf is said to be the first masterpiece
of world sculptures. It belongs to a series of Venus figurines of the Paleolithic period or Old Stone
Age. This period was characterized by crude stone and bone weapons, cave paintings, and sculptures.
The Venus was found in a small village of Austria called Willendorf, hence the name of the Venus.
This groundbreaking discovery was made in 1908 by the archaeologist Josef Szombathy. However, it
was not until 1990 when we were able to predict the time when the sculpture was carved. It is believed
to have been made between 25,000 B.C.E and 20,000 B.C.E. The sculpture is only 4,4 inches tall and
it is made of oolitic limestone, which is a carbonate rock commonly found in India, around the
Caribbean and Pacific Ocean Islands, but not Austria. Therefore, archeologists believe that this
sculpture was moved from its original place of creation. Continuing with that idea, because of the fact
that the sculpture does not have defined feet so it is not able to stand and that it is small and malleable,
historians believe that it was originally made to be carried around as a talisman or a sign of good luck,
especially for fertility purposes. It is important to notice how the structure of this sculpture highlights
some human features (breasts, belly, hips, vulva) while minimizing others, such as arms and legs. The
Venus represents the first aesthetic ideas of our early history, which has

Ken Carter As A Leader In The Movie Coach Carter

Author Note This project was prepared for PAD 6934 Collaborative Governance, taught by Professor
Robin Ersing.
Abstract
In recent times, public officials, community groups and activists have expressed their concern over the
growth of violence perpetrated by youth gangs. On their own, local governments are often restricted
not only by budgetary constraints, but operating knowledge. There is evidence that when public
officials and community groups are engaged, empowered and enlightened in a collaborative effort,
change happens. When both the public and private sectors willingly cooperate together, deterrence of
gang violence can be achieved. This paper delves into specific government programs that studies and
provides information on gang violence. This information brings forward specific limitations and
recommendations that a continued collaborative effort can deter youth gang violence.
Issue and Goal
When addressing public safety issues, one might assume that the most obvious approach encompasses
an elementary and uncomplicated strategy involving strictly law enforcement practitioners. A
seemingly straightforward approach however is in actuality nonexistent. While allocating additional
resources (like personnel and physical security assets)

Extended Definition Of Courage
Famous American trial lawyer Gerry Spence once said: Fear is the stuff of courage. We cannot be
brave without fear. One who faces unreasonable danger is not courageous unless that person has first
felt fear and overcome it. He is only foolish. I know of no persons who are brave who are not first
afraid. The original definition of courage is routed from the Latin word cor , meaning heart . There are
so many definitions to explain exactly what courage is, but courage means so much more than all
those simple definitions. Courage is every time I kiss my sick father goodbye, unaware if this will be

The Importance Of Faith And Belief
Human beings have an inherent faith and belief system regardless of whether they are aware of it. It
originates from traditions and upbringing and is the center of one s being. Faith and belief have
different content and methods of questioning and understanding the content. It is important to
understand the difference and not to interchange faith and belief because it can cause
misunderstandings and negative consequences. William K. Clifford and Paul Tillich define faith and
faith through descriptions of what they are, what they are not, and how one can reach good faith and
belief through asking the right questions based on types of doubt. As a result of faith and belief being
elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it is essential to
know the discrepancies between each.
According to Tillich, faith is a matter of ultimate concern that promises total fulfillment (Tillich, 1).
Concern is content that is infinite and valued at the core of human beings. Ultimate refers to
something that is put above all other values and involves sacrifice as it orients our lives to reach an
infinite goal of fulfillment. Faith is an act of the total personality (Tillich, 4). It comes from the center
of our being and includes all aspects of a person s life. Genuine faith requires existential doubt which
involves questioning even when a finite answer does not exist. It is a risk to put faith in something that
is not finite or capable of being

Medical Malpratices in Surgery
Medical malpractice cases increases when a patient is harmed or injured by a doctor or nurse or other
medical professional who fails to provide proper and better health care treatment. Fortunately, doctors,
nurses, and hospitals make mistakes in a small number of cases. But within that small minority of
cases, certain types of errors crop up more often than others.
Surgical errors can be medical malpractice if the surgeon s performance falls below the accepted
standard of care for a reasonably competent surgeon under similar circumstances, and the patient is
injured as a result. Although some surgical errors are the result of a physician s actual incompetence,
most result from poor planning before surgery or failure to properly communicate with the patient or
his/her family about the possible risks associated with a procedure. During surgery, doctor, nurses and
medical provider often face situations where quick and fast decisions need to be made. When mistakes
occur during surgery, the patient on the operating table can suffer severe and weaken injuries.
Medical mistakes during surgery can occur when a doctor, nurse or hospital staffs fail to give their full
attention to the patient they are operating on. This can result in the wrong procedure being performed,
medical supplies used during the surgery being left inside of the patient, or a failure to promptly and
properly react when unanticipated problems arise. In many cases, problems during surgery are the

averaging out the risks associated with the equity market, thus reducing the overall risk you face. In
this option some proportion of the fund value is automatically switched from debt dominated fund to
equity dominated fund on regular basis. Automatic Asset Allocation (AAA): This option helps the
customer to automatically decrease the exposure to equity and increase the exposure to dept, as policy

Community Vitality At University Medical Clinic
COMMUNITY VITALITY

were a minute amount of people seen outside a gas station, filling up their cars within the community.
Additional citizens were mostly seen at University Medical Outpatient Clinic. Consequently, there
were neither tourists nor apparent visitors to this town except for us solitary Texas Tech students.
Perhaps, the only noticeable, prospective visitors may have been those individuals seen near an
Interstate 10 gas station, situated on the edge of this township. Most citizens that were look to be
between the ages of 35 65 years old, with the exception of a hand full of children. That was seen at the
health clinic; ranging in between the ages of 7 12 years old. Hispanics were the only visible ethnicity
detected during the conduction of this assessment.
The general appearances of those constituents were healthy, clean, and decently dressed. None of the
citizens appear to be malnourished and those who exemplify obese attributes were no more than 20
pounds overweight. No citizens with disabilities or mental disorders were seen. None of the citizens
that were observed seemed to under the influence of alcohol or drugs. During the assessment, there
were no pregnant women or women with strollers seen.

Tale Of The Ragged Mountains Essay
In every story Edgar Allen Poe writes, he achieves a certain desired effect. He meticulously plans out
every word and every literary device to achieve this effect in the reader. In Poe s A Tale of the Ragged
Mountains the intended effect was to use supernatural events to show the connection between Bedloe
and Oldeb. Bedloe goes on a journey in his own mind, induced by the high dosage of morphine taken
earlier that morning. While Bedloe is telling about this journey, one may think that he has gone crazy,
but when Dr. Templeton states that Bedloe s experiences matched up perfectly to an old friend of his,
we begin to realize the connection between the two characters. Through the characters, setting and
irony Poe gives realistic treatment to the supernatural and fashions a tale about reincarnation and past
lives. Perhaps the most important aspect of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The setting helps establish the link between Bedloe and Oldeb. The story first takes place in
Charlottesville, Virginia, but when Augustus goes on his journey he ends up in Benares, a city in
India. Charlottesville is an area Poe is very familiar with because he was a student at the University of
Virginia. The Ragged Mountains are a chain of wild and dreary hills outside of Charlottesville and
they create the perfect scene for Poe s story of hypnosis, soul travel, and reincarnation (Poe 319). The
setting of Bedloe s journey is Benares, India. A central belief of Hinduism, the main religion in India,
is reincarnation. Reincarnation is the belief that a person s soul can be reborn into another person or
living thing. Since it is impossible to travel to India in just a few hours, Mr. Bedloe must have been
having a vision of his previous life, spurred by the morphine he took that morning. Poe s clever use of

The Ulysses Mission Essay
The Ulysses spacecraft was first and only spacecraft designed and lunched to study the Sun from
outside the lower solar latitudes. All other space craft that studied the Sun stayed along the same
elliptical plane that the Earth is on. The spacecraft was part of a joint venture between NASA and the
ESA. Originally planed as a two spacecraft mission called the International Solar Polar Mission, it was
scaled down to one probe due to NASA cutbacks in funding. This resulted in the ESA designing the
spacecraft and NASA lunching it from Space Shuttle Discovery in 1990.
The Spacecraft then flew to Jupiter in two years. It used Jupiter s gravity to increase its speed and alter

Its mission was extended to allow for a third and final approved to the Polar Regions. The last orbit
happened in 2008 and by 2009 all communication ended with the probe.
The spacecraft was launched from Discovery and it proceeded to Jupiter under power from Boeing
and McDonnell Douglas rockets. The main body of the space craft was almost a cubic meter in size
and was powered by a radioisotope thermoelectric generator. The radioisotope thermoelectric
generator converts energy from the heat generated from radioactive decay to electrical energy for the
spacecraft to use. It used hydrazine for its source of fuel used in course corrections. Two beryllium
copper antennas perpendicular to the radioisotope thermoelectric generator reached out seventy two
meters. A third antenna was along the spin axis opposite of the dish. The last side of the spacecraft
contained a experiment boom that had instruments to collect X ray data from solar flares. The boom
also contained two magnetometers. On the main body of the spacecraft it also contained detectors for
various particles and subatomic particles.
The Ulysses was one of NASA s and ESA s longest lasting missions, lasting over nineteen years. It
was able to record data from the polar regains of the Sun and thanks to extending the original mission
three times the original amount it was able to do that three times and is still the only spacecraft that
has done that.

The And Of The Forest
In investigation 1, the data points are very clustered from the height of 150cm to the height of 300cm.
This makes sense as saplings are defined as young trees that are taller than 1.35m above the forest
floor. So between 150cm and 300cm is most likely average height which would be the majority of the
population. The overall data set of investigation 1 is alot more spread out than the compact data set of
investigation 2. On the other hand, in investigation 2 all the data points are overlapping and in line
with the regression line, up to a height of 600cm where there is few data points, indicating that the
majority of saplings taken in this sample are young and planted for regeneration of the forest purposes.
In both cases there is a positive relationship between the two sets of variables. In investigation one, as
H of a sapling increases, the DBH tends to increase. This would make sense because as the sapling
grows up, it subsequently grows in diameter because it manufactures new cells around its
circumference which increase the diameter at breast height in order to maintain and support the weight
of the growing height. On the graph there appears to be some unusal feature s where the height of the
Sapling is approx 450cm however the DBH of just below 10cm is alot lower than the other saplings of
the sample population that have a height of 450cm. It is possible that some sapling trees, like this one,
are alot thinner and taller. This could be caused by a mutation. However

The Pros And Cons Of Private Prisons
Hoarse yelling, officers shouting out orders, threats being passed brazenly between those in power and
those whose power has been stripped away. While this may sound like a line that could be from a
dystopian novel or a story about the a corrupt government and its people in a third world country,
things like this have actually happened in the United States. From the year 1980 to the year 2010
people incarcerated for federal drug charges increase from 4,749 people to 97,472. While those
statistics may be shocking, the fact that approximately half of the people with federal drug charges are

There are many private prison deals where people have either invested their money into the prisons or
the prison has backed another business or running candidate with the prison s money. Regardless of
which way it goes, both sides usually come out on top with the prisoners losing. One group even
created something called the Prison Divestment Campaign in 2011. The campaign was formed by
several groups working together to try and get investors to pull out of private prison deals (Magee 49
50). It was easy for them to get scared that other parts of branches of the government would become
privatized seeing as a piece of the judicial branch already had. The lobbying, however, can be proven
especially with recent events. The day Donald Trump was elected to be the US President stock prices
of CCA had risen by 43% and the stock for the GEO Group had risen by 21%. Just a few day after and
the stock had risen above 100% from what it had previously been. During the time of his campaign
Donald Trump had repeatedly spoken of cities and embellished their crime rates. Trump s propaganda,
as well as his fiery immigration speeches, has led to incarceration rates slowly climbing. Under Trump

Symptoms And Treatment Of Insomnia
It is estimated that approximately 30% of adults report having difficulty with perceived quality of
sleep or quantity of sleeping hours (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014). To define insomnia, the patient takes
longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep and has less than 6 Ā½ hours of total sleep (Edmunds Mayhew,
2014). Insomnia is seen more commonly seen in women compared to men (McCance Huether, 2014).
Sleep disorders are a symptom usually of another problem; thus a comprehensive review of the patient
s history and a thorough physical examination is required to rule out all possible causes of the sleep
disturbance (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014, p. 541). Insomnia can be associated with many other diseases
and unhealthy habits, so weeding through the patient s history is very important.
Appropriate treatment of insomnia is under debate within the medical community. Current data
suggest sedative hypnotics do not offer effect relief from insomnia as thought (Edmunds Mayhew,
2014). They work by increasing the activity of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter
in the brain. When GABA increases in the brain, drowsiness occurs which can facilitate or maintain
sleep. Benzodiazepines and non benzodiazepines fall under this group. An example of these drugs
would be Restoril or Ambien (Condo, 2011). Sedative hypnotics are intended for short term use only,
although patients have been known to use them for several years. These medications also produce
unfavorable side effects

Comparative Analysis Between Three Different Curricula
Comparative Analysis between Three Different Curricula:
Te Whāriki, New Zealand Curriculum (2007) and Reggio Emilia
The history of early childhood in New Zealand Aotearoa is not as extensive as countries such as the
United Kingdom though, does not mean it is not complicated. Aotearoa s history of early childhood
education (ECE) is deeply entangled within social, cultural and political contexts. These contexts have
shaped the mandated and chosen curriculums of ECE today (Duhn, 2009). The 1980 s was a
significant era that had fundamental influences on curriculums such as Te Whāriki (1996) and New
Zealand Curriculum (NZC) (2007). Within this era, education and care was transformed as the
government (of the day) were persuaded to invest more in ECE. This transformation was guided by an
ideological shift, hence becoming the period of governmental and economic reform (May, 2004).
Anne Meade (1989) depicted Aotearoa to the international community as in the midst of knitting a
new early childhood sweater (cited in May 2004, p. 203), in other words, a new curriculum. Reports
helped the knitting of the new curriculum through its political pathways. The Education to be More
report (Meade Report) described a progressive framework for ECE development focusing on
achieving high quality ECE (May, 2004). It strived to make all policies across the ECE sector equally
important as primary, secondary and tertiary education. However, The Bailey Report requested that

Anesthesia In The Gross Clinic
The Gross Clinic, a staple of medical history, represents the raw truth of surgery and the shift in
medical practices before the 20th century. Thomas Eakins, the painter of The Gross Clinic, was from
Philadelphia, and considered it to be his greatest accomplishment as an artist. Surgery was the last
option for doctors, not the intricate art that it has evolved into. Dr. Samuel Gross embodied the
innovation and advancements in medicine during the year The Gross Clinic was created: the changes
in anesthesia, antisepsis, and education as a whole. The Gross Clinic is representative of the lack of

Florence Nightingale was one of the first medical professionals to realize a need for sanitation during
surgery during her time as a nurse in the Crimean War. She and a team of nurses improved the
unsanitary conditions at a British base hospital, and greatly reduced the death count. In 1860, she
funded the establishment of St. Thomas Hospital and Nightingale Training School for Nurses. She
used her experience from the Crimean War to implement the beginnings of modern hospital infection
control practices in St. Thomas Hospital. Nightingale s practices were not the sole research and
experimentation surrounding antisepsis. Many scientists studied death rates and the notion that air was
the cause of infection and death. Dr. Joseph Lister did not believe in this notion, so he conducted a
study that proved microorganisms, bacteria, caused infections. His study became known as the germ
theory of infection, and launched the field of bacteriology. By 1870 he demonstrated that his antiseptic
system could prevent most infectious complications of surgery. Despite Lister s abundant results,
doctors continued to reject antisepsis; it would be another twenty to thirty years before Listerism was
adopted. Gross was very adamant on rejecting antisepsis; by 1875 Samuel Gross was the leading
obstacle to the adoption of Listerism in

105),the most important thing to understand is that the term goods means tangible personal property.
Article 2 does not apply to contracts for the sale of real estate or stocks and bonds and other
intangibles. The drafters of the code also tried to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for Masterpieces claim that they had a right to delegate the duties to Build them to Fall under
commercial impracticability they would have to show that unforeseen conditions would have caused a
delay or inability to make delivery of the goods (make performance impracticable), then they would
have been able to claim commercial impracticability. In the absence of compelling circumstances, the
courts do not readily excuse parties from their contractual obligations, particularly where it is clear
that the parties anticipated a problem and sought to provide for it in the contract. Since Masterpiece
had contracted to perform the work for Grocery and then had a sudden increase in jobs this would not
be considered compelling circumstances for sub contracting the job to a company that would perform
a poor quality of work. 3.) At the end of the summer, Jeff fresh had earned enough money to put a
down payment on a car. He decided to continue working part time during school to earn money for the

Family Values and The Status of The Traditional American...
When one thinks of the term family values, many different ideas can come to mind. Morals, religion,
beliefs, tradition, expectation, controversy, and misuse are some things that may come to mind when
the term family values is mentioned. The true definition and meaning of family values can most likely
never be directly pinpointed, but it is always going to be a known fact that family values are always
going to have different meanings to different people. It is the common misunderstanding that family
values are just simply the things that shape a growing persons values and morals. From a the
beginning of a child s life, they are instilled with values to go by in the life that lies ahead of them by
either their own family or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes time to make an important decision, ones personal courage and self discipline are put
to the test and what has been instilled in them from the beginning of their lives is the determining
factor of how the situation will turn out. There are many things that can go wrong in the process of
passing family values on from generation to generation. If certain values are instilled in a particular
family since the dawn of its existence, and those values are not necessarily the best ones, it is more
than likely going to be considered a perfectly acceptable value and taught to members of that family to
come. When negative family values are taught, it is common that when someone applies those same
values to real world situations, they will encounter conflict among people and situations that they
come across. This is common with families that are prejudice, racist, sheltered, or just plain ignorant
to modern cultural standards. It is a very sad thing when incorrect or socially unacceptable values are
taught to the youth in a family. For the reason that, to a young and impressionable mind what is taught
to them is the only thing that they know and it is always considered right. It is not the youth s fault, or
the parents fault for that matter, it is just simply a matter of how a particular family or group of people
adapt and conform to contemporary socially acceptable customs. Sometimes, the teaching of family
values is diverted by

Hobbes Vs Rousseau
Throughout history, many people have had very different ideas about how governments should be run.
Of those many people, four had very important ideas about government. Those four people were
Charles de Secondat Baron de Montesquieu, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Thomas Hobbes, and John
Locke. Montesquieu believed that laws were necessary but varied for each area for their own
conditions; Rousseau believed in self directed law and freedom through giving themselves to others;
Hobbes also believed that laws were necessary but that mankind could not thrive if they lived in a
world of war; and John Locke expounded that laws should only be created with the consent of the
people and that a man truly can t sign away his life. These influential philosophers ... Show more

He made this evident in The Leviathan. In this document, Hobbes wrote about how men were more
equal than they realized, although from this equality came the same longing for attaining our goals.
However, when two people long the same thing, it can lead to war. When there is war, Hobbes claims,
there is no place for productive labor, thus leading to Earth losing culture. There is no society, no arts,
no account of time, no more exports over sea. Although, Hobbes says the worst part of war is the
continuous fear and the danger of violent death. He believes war ruins mankind. In Two Treatises on
Government, John Locke stated that societal rules and laws should be created by the consent of the
people through a trusted legislature. No laws should be permitted if the people do not agree to it. In
this work John Locke also proclaimed that one cannot obtain someone else s power unless the power
is given or forfeited, such as through death. He viewed slavery as a war due to it not being consensual.
No man can truly sign his own life

Water Quality And Water Pollution
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background information
Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as
well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water
resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental
degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems.
Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the
twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009).
The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either
through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of
the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The
relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education
interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey
et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens
and heavy metals is important to human health.
Water is regarded polluted if some components or condition is existing to such a magnitude that the
water cannot be used for a particular purpose. Water pollution affects flora and organisms

The Ediacaran Fauna Essay
Up until 1947, it was believed that the Cambrian Explosion marked the first true abundance of
multicellular life. However, this was discovered to be untrue after Sir Douglas Mawson and R.C.
Sprigg mistakenly came across numerous quot;fossil jellyfish quot; in the Ediacara Hills while
observing what was originally believed to be sandstones belonging to the lowest strata of the
Cambrian. At first, these finding were dismissed as quot;fortuitous inorganic markings. quot;(AAS
Biographical Memoirs.) Several years later however, other discoveries of segmented worms, worm
tracks, and impressions of two other assemblages that bear no resemblance to any known organism,
living or extinct, prompted the South Australian Museum and the University of ... Show more content

Next come the elongated worm like impressions with a horseshoe shaped head followed by 40
identical segments and rounded flattened, worm like impressions with a central groove and strong
segmentation.
These worm like impressions belonged to the Annelida Phylum. The last two forms, which were oval
shaped impressions with T shaped groves and circular impressions with three quot;bent arms, quot;
resemble no known organisms and are believed to represent the Phylum Arthropoda. The most
abundantly distributed fossil at the South Australian site, the Dickinsonia, was represented by over one
hundred specimens. These impressions may be related to some modern day flatworms and were
covered with transverse ridges. The number of ridges varies with size while smaller forms had 20
ridges, larger ones could have as many as 550. Another notable find was the Spriggina floundersi,
which was named after R.C. Sprigg and Ben Flounder; the two geologists credited to their discovery.
These small annelid worms ranged between one and three inches in length and had small horseshoe
shaped heads. These worms resemble the modern Tomopteridae, which have heads similar to those of
the Precambrian fauna, only wider. It now appears as though these marine worms are direct
descendants from the ancient forms. The Ediacaran organisms are a clear foreshadowing of one of the
most dramatic events in all of life s history the rapid expansion of shell bearing organisms. The earth s

Melissa Morelli Lacroix s A Most Beautiful Deception
Melissa Morelli Lacroix s first book, A Most Beautiful Deception, is compiled of three collections of
multiple poems. Each collection represents a piece of music by a composer: Frederic Chopin, Clara
and Robert Schumann, and Claude Debussy. It is written in a form that reflects the nature (intro, coda,
movements, etc.) of each piece. She wrote in the notes of her book that, the poems quote quite freely
from the composers who have inspired them (Lacroix 105). The touching personality of her poetry
comes from the musical quality and realism of each poem. The story, emotion, and simplicity that is
demonstrated is striking and captivating. Her use of one form of art to create another reflects her
method of interweaving sadness and beauty; instruments and words; death and life; past and present;
musical form and poetic form. The first section of poems is titled Chopin for the Dying , and tells the
story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poem is poignant as it causes readers to think of those things that revive melancholy experiences.
Lacroix interweaves the irreplaceable moments of life and the sweet sting of memories (canlit) into a
poem describing the difficulty in acknowledging the departure of a better time. The line breaks that
that occur place emphasis on the words at the beginnings and the ends of lines; an important element
is that every three lines (besides one exception of four), either you , we , or I begin the line. The first
half of the poem speaks of you , I , and we , but the last half is all I . The change from two people to
one is a striking representation of how even though the husband is still alive, he is already gone in the
mind of the wife. She is resigned to being alone now, and finds it unbearable to look at the books/ the
photo albums and flowered shirts (Lacroix 52) because they remind her that the one thing she wants
(her husband) is no longer beside

School Athletes Honor Roll
Should school athletes have to be on the honor roll to play in sports games? Athletes shouldn t have to
be on the school s honor roll to play in games. So the starting quarterback for a football team couldn t
play, because he couldn t get on the honor roll. At the same time though, he was passing in all his
classes. So he sat out and because of this rule, the backup quarterback did not do well and the team
lost the game. That wouldn t have happened if the good starting quarterback was playing. It might
stress the athlete out a whole lot. It could be putting too much on the shoulders of the athletes to be
ready to play in a game and then having to get there work done with good grades. If one time the star

  • 2. The Fulfillment Of The Abrahamic Covenant The Pentatuach offers the reader hope in the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant because It all began in the covenant with Abraham, God promised many things to him. God promised numerous descendants, land, and a relationship with him. God s first blessing would provide Abraham with numerous descendants, which in turn would become a great nation. His second blessing would provide him and his family with a place to call home. His third blessing states that Abraham will have a relationship with God. This means that, anyone who blesses Abraham will be blessed by God, anyone that curses him will be cursed. In return for all of these promises, Abraham and all of his male members and descendants were circumcised to let God know that they belong to him. We can believe that the Abrahamic covenant would be fulfilled when, God called Abraham to leave his country, relatives, and family to go to the land that he was going to be given. God said, I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. The land that the Lord took Abraham too, was the land that would be given to him and his descendants. After Abraham was gone, his descendants would be in possession of the land. Abraham had a vision, where God promised to protect him. Abraham had a hard time believing that him and his wife would ever have children. God told Abraham that the amount of descendants that he would have, is equivalent to the amount of stars in the sky. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

PL is important for the enhancement in reward seeking behavior when the deprived animal is re exposed to the previously rewarding context (reinstatement)(Gourley Taylor, 2016). PL is also important for discriminative reward seeking(Sangha et al., 2014). The BLA PL projection is important for reinstatement. However neural correlates that are not part of the dominant circuit may play a modulatory role in affecting learning rate, or it can have no effect on behavior as they may simply be passive relays from other structures. Critical structures and their projections are major contributors as the absence of any one of them will abolish behavior. Dysregulations that abolish behavioral performance must be either part of or at least influencing critical structures on the circuit. Focusing on circuits that contain only the necessary components is critical to narrow the search for malfunctioning elements that lead to downstream changes and cause behavioral impairment. Results from these aims would refine the current circuit underlying SFRLD. In turn, this information would be vital for electrophysiologically monitor information flow from major contributors throughout the pathway and set the stage for identifying cellular level abnormalities from critical structures. In order to restore the behavioral impairment in safety acquisition and reward regulation, treatment for PTSD AD will need to rescue dysregulations in the critical structures or pathways. Shortly after this video, Mr. Carty had announced executive retention bonuses and pension protection right after most union members had already voted to accept over $1 billion worth of wage and benefit concessions (Zellner, 2003). Needless to say, this didn t brief too well to the point that two of the three unions were calling for new votes (Zellner, 2003). Mr. Carty claimed that it was merely to keep the company out of bankruptcy. So, if the labor costs were part of American Airlines restructuring before the contract negotiations as Mr. Carty had stated, what other preparations would have the company took prior to the negotiation process? What federal government agencies were involved in the labor relations? And what type of response would be expected from the unions that represent American Airlines employees after comments such as the ones Mr. Carty stated? • 6. Colorism-Skin Tone Discrimination In The Makeup Industry... For decades, makeup companies have treated foundation shades like a high end, exclusive VIP club that women of color cannot get into. Representation in the beauty industry is a continued issue that no makeup company can seem to get right. While the spectrum of foundation shades have widen, the makeup counter has not changed much. There is a major misunderstanding between makeup industries and women of color. This is a result of the lack of understanding of the needs of the diverse consumer. There is an absence of knowledge and empathy for others that are not white. When we consider these factors we have to think about the creators of these products. Often times they do not look like us, so how can we expect for them to meet our needs. This form of discrimination can place a direct discouragement on women of color s self esteem. This exclusion in an attempt to purchase foundation for their skin tone is what race relation s specialist, Nadra Kareem Nittle calls colorism. In her article What Is Colorism Skin Tone Discrimination in America, she describes colorism as the disadvantage dark skinned people face, while privileging those with lighter skin. Colorism is rooted in slavery, as slave owners typically gave preferential treatment to slaves with fairer skin complexions, while dark skinned slaves faced harsher mistreatment out in the fields. Makeup companies favor their white counterparts, often only providing a few shades that do not meet the needs of women of color. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Broadway Musical Hamilton By Lin Manuel Miranda Oftentimes people have a difficult time connecting with history. They do not see the relevance between something hundreds of years ago and today s issues. The Broadway musical Hamilton by Lin Manuel Miranda does a great job of bridging that gap. Many of the issues that were faced in the time period of Alexander Hamilton are also faced in the world today. An example of this is politicians riding the fence on important issues. A main character in the play is criticized greatly for doing this just as people are currently. In Miranda s Hamilton, characters are faced with issues and are asked to take a stand just as political leaders are today. Hamilton had a rough childhood and did not have many opportunities where he came from. His family, friends, and neighbors decided that he needed to go to the mainland to get an education. It was then that he was able to make a name for himself and he began to climb the social and political ladders. If Hamilton would have stayed in his hometown he would not have been able to do anything that he accomplished in his life. The world we live in today is having to make similar decisions. With the Olympics going on currently, viewers are learning many new facts about athletes from around the world. Andre De Grasse, for example, is originally from Ontario Canada. He proved that he is one of the fastest men in the world when he won bronze in the 100 meter final. De Grasse has always been fast but did not have the opportunities to compete on a ... • 10. Bourgeoise In The Communist Manifesto The Communist Manifesto first came about as a result of the economic and political chaos. Within the document, it distinguishes the class stratification and the struggles within. Also within the Communist Manifesto, it was clear that the production of development involving the lower class (proletariat) and the middle class (bourgeoise) was its clear focus. The document then discusses the class struggles of both the proletariat and the bourgeoise, and soon shows how one class over powers the other. This would soon develop a new form of freedom for the rest of the society. The basic argument of the Communist Manifesto is the struggles within the classes. The bourgeoise was commonly known as the property owners and the proletariat was commonly known as the workers. The class struggle begins with the bourgeoisies. The bourgeoisies society was created from the ruins of the feudal society, they had the advantage of not only progression of industrial commerce, but they also had the advantage of convenient transportation. Due to the advantage of transportation, the bourgeoisies were very popular within distributions to other countries. Human Intelligence And The Biomedical Engineering Field Vernor Vinge states, I have argued above that we cannot prevent the Singularity, that its coming is an inevitable consequence of the humans natural competitiveness and the possibilities inherent in technology. Technological singularity is on the verge of having a massive breakthrough but are we ready for what it brings? Raymond Kurzweil, an American author, believes that singularity will emerge in 2045. Technological singularity is an event in which artificial intelligent machines go beyond human intelligence and have the possibility to redesign themselves. Scientific development and enhancement is in our daily lives. The concept of creating intelligent machines was almost deemed impossible but in the last decade, researchers and scientists have shown beyond doubt that creating intelligent machines is possible. These artificial intelligent machines produce potential benefits and problems in the biomedical engineering field, a field where scientists should not continue to work to on due to the dangers this field poses. In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, an inspired man by the name of Victor Frankenstein believed that he could create new life. Notes can be added to the slide so the presenter can elaborate to the audience any additional information that goes with the slide. It belongs to a series of Venus figurines of the Paleolithic period or Old Stone Age. This period was characterized by crude stone and bone weapons, cave paintings, and sculptures. The Venus was found in a small village of Austria called Willendorf, hence the name of the Venus. This groundbreaking discovery was made in 1908 by the archaeologist Josef Szombathy. However, it was not until 1990 when we were able to predict the time when the sculpture was carved. It is believed to have been made between 25,000 B.C.E and 20,000 B.C.E. The sculpture is only 4,4 inches tall and it is made of oolitic limestone, which is a carbonate rock commonly found in India, around the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean Islands, but not Austria. Therefore, archeologists believe that this sculpture was moved from its original place of creation. Continuing with that idea, because of the fact that the sculpture does not have defined feet so it is not able to stand and that it is small and malleable, historians believe that it was originally made to be carried around as a talisman or a sign of good luck, especially for fertility purposes. It is important to notice how the structure of this sculpture highlights some human features (breasts, belly, hips, vulva) while minimizing others, such as arms and legs. The Venus represents the first aesthetic ideas of our early history, which has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Collaboration For Deter Youth Gang Violence Collaboration to Deter Youth Gang Violence Collaborative Project Final Report Douglas Immler, Tinamarie Knowlton, Jon Mast University of South Florida School of Public Affairs Author Note This project was prepared for PAD 6934 Collaborative Governance, taught by Professor Robin Ersing. Abstract In recent times, public officials, community groups and activists have expressed their concern over the growth of violence perpetrated by youth gangs. On their own, local governments are often restricted not only by budgetary constraints, but operating knowledge. There is evidence that when public officials and community groups are engaged, empowered and enlightened in a collaborative effort, change happens. When both the public and private sectors willingly cooperate together, deterrence of gang violence can be achieved. This paper delves into specific government programs that studies and provides information on gang violence. This information brings forward specific limitations and recommendations that a continued collaborative effort can deter youth gang violence. Issue and Goal When addressing public safety issues, one might assume that the most obvious approach encompasses an elementary and uncomplicated strategy involving strictly law enforcement practitioners. A seemingly straightforward approach however is in actuality nonexistent. While allocating additional resources (like personnel and physical security assets) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Importance Of Faith And Belief Human beings have an inherent faith and belief system regardless of whether they are aware of it. It originates from traditions and upbringing and is the center of one s being. Faith and belief have different content and methods of questioning and understanding the content. It is important to understand the difference and not to interchange faith and belief because it can cause misunderstandings and negative consequences. William K. Clifford and Paul Tillich define faith and faith through descriptions of what they are, what they are not, and how one can reach good faith and belief through asking the right questions based on types of doubt. As a result of faith and belief being elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it is essential to know the discrepancies between each. According to Tillich, faith is a matter of ultimate concern that promises total fulfillment (Tillich, 1). Concern is content that is infinite and valued at the core of human beings. Ultimate refers to something that is put above all other values and involves sacrifice as it orients our lives to reach an infinite goal of fulfillment. Faith is an act of the total personality (Tillich, 4). It comes from the center of our being and includes all aspects of a person s life. Medical Malpratices in Surgery Medical malpractice cases increases when a patient is harmed or injured by a doctor or nurse or other medical professional who fails to provide proper and better health care treatment. Fortunately, doctors, nurses, and hospitals make mistakes in a small number of cases. But within that small minority of cases, certain types of errors crop up more often than others. Surgical errors can be medical malpractice if the surgeon s performance falls below the accepted standard of care for a reasonably competent surgeon under similar circumstances, and the patient is injured as a result. Although some surgical errors are the result of a physician s actual incompetence, most result from poor planning before surgery or failure to properly communicate with the patient or his/her family about the possible risks associated with a procedure. During surgery, doctor, nurses and medical provider often face situations where quick and fast decisions need to be made. When mistakes occur during surgery, the patient on the operating table can suffer severe and weaken injuries. Medical mistakes during surgery can occur when a doctor, nurse or hospital staffs fail to give their full attention to the patient they are operating on. Bedloe goes on a journey in his own mind, induced by the high dosage of morphine taken earlier that morning. While Bedloe is telling about this journey, one may think that he has gone crazy, but when Dr. Templeton states that Bedloe s experiences matched up perfectly to an old friend of his, we begin to realize the connection between the two characters. Originally planed as a two spacecraft mission called the International Solar Polar Mission, it was scaled down to one probe due to NASA cutbacks in funding. The main body of the space craft was almost a cubic meter in size and was powered by a radioisotope thermoelectric generator. The radioisotope thermoelectric generator converts energy from the heat generated from radioactive decay to electrical energy for the spacecraft to use. It used hydrazine for its source of fuel used in course corrections. Two beryllium copper antennas perpendicular to the radioisotope thermoelectric generator reached out seventy two meters. So between 150cm and 300cm is most likely average height which would be the majority of the population. The overall data set of investigation 1 is alot more spread out than the compact data set of investigation 2. On the other hand, in investigation 2 all the data points are overlapping and in line with the regression line, up to a height of 600cm where there is few data points, indicating that the majority of saplings taken in this sample are young and planted for regeneration of the forest purposes. In both cases there is a positive relationship between the two sets of variables. In investigation one, as H of a sapling increases, the DBH tends to increase. This would make sense because as the sapling grows up, it subsequently grows in diameter because it manufactures new cells around its circumference which increase the diameter at breast height in order to maintain and support the weight of the growing height. On the graph there appears to be some unusal feature s where the height of the Sapling is approx 450cm however the DBH of just below 10cm is alot lower than the other saplings of the sample population that have a height of 450cm. Symptoms And Treatment Of Insomnia It is estimated that approximately 30% of adults report having difficulty with perceived quality of sleep or quantity of sleeping hours (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014). To define insomnia, the patient takes longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep and has less than 6 Ā½ hours of total sleep (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014). Insomnia is seen more commonly seen in women compared to men (McCance Huether, 2014). Sleep disorders are a symptom usually of another problem; thus a comprehensive review of the patient s history and a thorough physical examination is required to rule out all possible causes of the sleep disturbance (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014, p. 541). Insomnia can be associated with many other diseases and unhealthy habits, so weeding through the patient s history is very important. Appropriate treatment of insomnia is under debate within the medical community. Current data suggest sedative hypnotics do not offer effect relief from insomnia as thought (Edmunds Mayhew, 2014). Comparative Analysis Between Three Different Curricula Comparative Analysis between Three Different Curricula: Te Whāriki, New Zealand Curriculum (2007) and Reggio Emilia The history of early childhood in New Zealand Aotearoa is not as extensive as countries such as the United Kingdom though, does not mean it is not complicated. Aotearoa s history of early childhood education (ECE) is deeply entangled within social, cultural and political contexts. These contexts have shaped the mandated and chosen curriculums of ECE today (Duhn, 2009). The 1980 s was a significant era that had fundamental influences on curriculums such as Te Whāriki (1996) and New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) (2007). Within this era, education and care was transformed as the government (of the day) were persuaded to invest more in ECE. This transformation was guided by an ideological shift, hence becoming the period of governmental and economic reform (May, 2004). Anne Meade (1989) depicted Aotearoa to the international community as in the midst of knitting a new early childhood sweater (cited in May 2004, p. 203), in other words, a new curriculum. Reports helped the knitting of the new curriculum through its political pathways. The Education to be More report (Meade Report) described a progressive framework for ECE development focusing on achieving high quality ECE (May, 2004). • 46. Water Quality And Water Pollution CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background information Water is an essential resource for life which greatly influences our public and environmental health as well as providing the pedestal for most of our economic activities. Unsustainable use of fresh water resources, population increase, and the trend in industrial revolution have led to environmental degradation especially by the release of partially treated or untreated wastewater into aquatic systems. Thus, the global freshwater resource is at risk and majority of the problems that humanity faces in the twenty first century are related to water quantity and/or water quality issues (UNESCO, 2009). The importance of water for sustenance of life cannot be overemphasized and its depletion of either through contamination, or careless use results in serious consequences (Owa, 2013). About 70 % of the earth is covered with water, but hardly 2 % of it is quality for drinking (Mann et al., 2014). The relative importance of water quality versus water quantity, sanitation and hygiene education interventions for protecting the population s health has been the subject of considerable debate (Esrey et al, 1985, 1991). Nevertheless, there is broad agreement that good water quality, free of pathogens and heavy metals is important to human health. So the starting quarterback for a football team couldn t play, because he couldn t get on the honor roll. At the same time though, he was passing in all his classes. So he sat out and because of this rule, the backup quarterback did not do well and the team lost the game. That wouldn t have happened if the good starting quarterback was playing. It might stress the athlete out a whole lot. It could be putting too much on the shoulders of the athletes to be ready to play in a game and then having to get there work done with good grades. If one time the star player on the team didn t get on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
