This document provides an evaluation of an FMP (Final Major Project) related to production process evaluation and special effects makeup. It discusses strengths and weaknesses in the areas of research, planning, time management, technical and aesthetic qualities, audience appeal, and peer feedback. Key strengths included effective research, clear planning layouts, good time management, and realistic makeup effects. Key weaknesses were slow survey response, unclear style sheet, parts of the animation needing improvement, and the video moving too quickly. The peer feedback agreed the video could be slowed down to allow more time to read.

2. RESEARCH
o My strengths of my research has to be finding the time-lapse videos and
posters of the special effects make up, it is so easy to find what you are
looking for when you type it in to the internet, even if you can find the
product you were intending to find you will always find something close to
what you were trying to find. The research helped me with my product
because it helped me decide what I wanted to create with in the video what
kind of looks I wanted to create, it also helped me by choosing the
soundtrack and the style of the video. Its also helped me decide to do a
shot animation clip on Photoshop just from looking and the posters its
helped me make it in to a animation.
o My weakness of my research has to be getting the feed back from my
survey, because I didn’t know how to broadcast the link for people to fill it in
it took longer then it should also the interview I didn’t know how to ask the
questions or who to ask so I just kept putting the interviews off. I found
away around this and used social media to help me get answers on my
survey and talked to people around me to help me think of things for my
interviews and I soon got answers, if I had done this straight away I could
have looked in to the answers more then I did and found out more, this
would have had a big impact on my final product.

3. PLANNING
o The strengths of my planning would have to be the layouts of my products I
wanted to create, this is because it was easy to find the images I needed for
the first lay out and put it all together and can see what I want to happen and
with the storyboard it was easy to draw what I wanted to show, the only this is
I’ve changed what I am showing I am no longer doing a can in the face I have
picked other little projects and making them in to a massive video. The
planning has helped so I already had a rough idea of what I wanted to achieve
but also I can change things along the way.
o The weakness of my planning will have to be the style sheet this is because I
couldn’t think of the colour schemes I wanted to work with so it took me longer
to create my style sheet also I had trouble finding fonts that would fit my
product, but I can always change the fonts and colour schemes along the way
of producing the product.

4. TIME MANAGEMENT
o I would say that I managed my time really well, I got through all the
PowerPoints fast so I could get on to making and had longer
producing my product. I think I finished all of my work in good time, I
left myself two days to allow me to go over everything and check it all
over to make sure I hadn't left anything out, I handed all of my work
in on time. If I had more time I would have improved my time-lapse
videos going in to more detail and making parts slower then other
parts to allow the audience to understand, I would also add speech in
instead of text, I don’t like how the text looks plonked on to the video.

5. TECHNICAL QUALITIES
Some similarities of my work and the work
that I have got to compare would have to
be the way they apply the make-up and
we both don’t show what products we are
using we just get on and make the special
effect look.
Some differences would have to be that I
have added in a title page to give an idea
of what I will be showing and also I’ve got
text on top of the video explaining what I
am using/doing. The video that I have got
of the inter net almost zooms in on the
model when getting there make up done
where as mine doesn’t, also the video I
found is using a male as the model where
as I am using my self. The speed of each
video is different, the one I have done I
made into a time-lapse video where as
the one on the internet just goes at normal
speed.

6. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
I think my work looks ok, I think that my animation is creative as I’ve never seen something like it
as I’ve used different editing apps, added in text at the end this makes it really effective even
though its one or two works it tells the audience what it is. It shows special effects make-up in a
different way but an effective way. My time-lapse video is creative because I think they way I
have put it together and put in background music and added in al the text using premier is an
easy way of showing off your skills of media make-up. If I could improve I would focus more on
the time-lapse video and make that the main priority and try different things out, different
background music, different fonts and even speech, I think speech would be easier for people
that cant really read fast of that well this will then open to a wider range of audience.
My weakness for my little animation would be getting the ‘butterflies’ and ‘ladybirds’ accurate and
make them look like the are flying not just jumping around, to improve this I tried using the arrow
keys and that made it easier and didn’t look as bad, if I had more time I would try make it more
accurate.
My strength for my little animations would have to be using the magic wand to erase the
background of the images I took my self and of the internet.
My weakness for my time-lapse video would have to be the cutting of the clips that I wanted in
my video for example the background music wasn’t long enough for my video I had created so I
had to import a second clip and try fit it so it didn’t sound like a big change.
My strength for my time-lapse video would be the importing of all the clips and images that I
needed and the creating the text slides and putting effects on to some of the text and the
images.

7. AUDIENCE APPEAL
I have appealed to my target audience by thinking about what they would
like o see and what they would enjoy watching and maybe producing on
them self's or another family member. The specific parts that would appeal
would be the model that I have used, a teenaged girl this is so that it tells
you who its aimed at before you even press play. I knew by using a model
this is easy to aim at my audience better, I found all this out when I did my
questionnaire. After I had created my questionnaire I knew it would be easy
to create my products because I had all the information I needed to help me
reach my target audience.

What did you like about the product?
It was very realistic and It was well done and put
together in the video with the tips and how to do
it. It was very effective and did make you cringe
at the realism but it was great!
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
The video went a bit fast not giving you a lot of
time to read it so it could slow down just a little to
get the full effect

I liked all the different special effects makeup as
they where really detailed and realistic.
I also liked the transitions between the different
effects.

product?
Slow down the time so its not as fast and you can
see the video in more detail.

What did you like about the product?
I liked each tutorial, they were all great in there own way. I
thought the general skill to do the make up was amazing, it
looked real! overall I thought the video was amazing
What improvements could have been made to the product?
I felt as if the video was going a bit to fast for my liking, it
could have been a bit slower, also the text could of stayed
on the screen for a bit longer.

What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with all of the feed back that the video could do
with been slowed down and it is hard to watch and read
because it goes so fast, from this it my put my
audience off from watching it doesn’t give them time. I
also like the fact they have said that it looks realistic, its
almost like its professional and will get picked up from
the industry meaning my work might get spotted.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
They is nothing that I don’t agree with all the feed back
is something that needs to be done.

13. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
Based on my feed back I would improve on the speed of my
video, make it slower and make the text last longer so my
audience will be able to read and them that struggle to read
fast don’t have to worry about stopping and starting the
video, if they have to stop and start the video they wont get
the idea of the atmosphere that I’m trying to create with the
look. This will benefit my audience in the long run as they will
be happy to watch the videos that I am producing and will
learn from watching them and tell other people about the
videos gaining me more subscribers because of the quality
of my videos.
