Research
My research helped my product as I could decide different ideas I could
create. For example YouTube has lots of inspiration witch I took on. It helped
me decide what I wanted to do.
The weakness of my research was it took a little longer as there was so many
ideas I didn’t know witch ones to pick! This had a big effect on my project as it
helped my layout and structure to my project.
I decided to conduct my research through survey monkey I got 14 responses
from friends as well as teams, my response were positive and it helped me
get a better understanding of other peoples experiences with the topic. I
designed m questions in the way to find out more and get peoples reaction. I
asked things like how much do you use social media and how has it effected
you. I also asked for age and gender therefore because I sent it to friends too I
got responses from a range of all ages for example 15-60.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning were that I could get all my thoughts out.
And decide how I wanted my film to be. I used images and wrote down
lots of my ideas on my phone as well as on paper. This was great as I could
use all these ideas onto my project and tick them of. It allowed me to
create a great project and make it more personal.
• I planned the project by also using pictures from existing products and
linking them to colours so I could decide what colours I preferred and
went well.
• I used YouTube for my inspiration and the text I added was taken
from websites that provided statistics-

Time Management
• I feel my time management could of done with some work, I didn’t
complete my project on time and I feel behind a little. However I managed
to get it completed quickly. I think I took a big project on witch I could of
done with planning a little bit more. I had some troubles with it and I may
of needed to learn some more things before I decided to do it, however iv
learnt a lot and definitely expanded my ideas learning and confidence
within media.
• To improve my time management I could of used a schedule planner and
made a checklist for all the things I needed to tick of and do on my
project.
Technical Qualities
This is similar to my film as I
included split screens to one of my
clips to draw the audience in.
This is similar to mine as I got a close
up angle of the phone and inserted
nasty texts to bring emotion into my
project.
I also used a
similar angle in
my film to this
with the POV of
the phone.
However the difference is I used only 2
split screens not 4 I could maybe expand
my knowledge and try and do 4 in the
future
However the
difference I used
was sound
effects over my
angles.
The difference to my project
was I used dramatic music
over my clip.
Aesthetic Qualities
In my opinion my work looks very
creative I tried to use as many
techniques I could into my work I
like how iv used split screens and
included images over my clips. I
think the strength of my work is the
structure and idea layout. There's
meaning behind the clips and they
all link together. However a
weakness would be I could of
added more aspects of life for
example different settings like
outside. I Could improve the timing
and maybe expand my fonts and
texts to make it more creative.
Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my target audience my using evidence from my
questionnaires and interview. In my questionnaires people had experienced
negative things from social media so I included topics like anxiety and
depression as well as cyber bullying. I also used Instagram feeds into my clips
as everyone scrolls through Instagram right? I felt this was relatable. I know a
lot of people who deal with these situations. I appealed it to all genders not
any specific gender for example I tried not to use She/He in my text, I also
tried to make it relatable to teenagers as I feel there popular topics and social
media is popular with teenagers. Similar videos to mine are also been shown
around colleges and schools to raise more awareness.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– Hard-hitting, factual and thought provoking
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– A little bit shorter in length?
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the angles and clip structure
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Could have filmed in different settings including
outside or even in a college setting to make it
more realistic.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– Informative and interesting
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Increase text size to help audiences see easier for
people with not as good sight for example older
generations.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I could have expanded my settings and
increased the text size and had different audiences in
mind
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree with the timings, as it’s a good length for a
short film and I think any shorter I would of struggled
with cutting my clips however it maybe would of
helped with my time management.
Peer Feedback Summary
I would film in different places for example
outside. I would increase my text size, as I think this
is a good point and maybe would have acted on this
if I had more time on my project. Therefore I will
learn from this and in the future my timing better
and help perfect the details. I will test my skills more
and be able to take them with me on later projects.
