Research
• My strengths in my research would be finding games related to my option.
The games needed to relate to: pixel / defeating bad guy and trying to get
to the top or beating the level.
• The weakness would be finding more games or ideas to do with my game
option as it would of helped more so I could figure out bases that I was
figuring out during the production stage, I could of improved a lot in my
opinion if I thought more about each section in the research.
• My research was simple and highly improvable as I could of put more in
and I could of also involved a vote or find statistics to see what type of
game in pixels would be the top choice for everyone
Planning
• I had an organised plan set out to begin with. Start with the first 4
documents then test out the experiments and then go to production and
finish with the last 3 documents on the last day but the schedule was
broken as I had a problem with the back ground so I had to to take and
extra few lessons from the documents to finish my product of.
• Further planning has worked sufficiently well as I have been finishing
documents of at home and uploading them at home as well to save time
in class.
• My weakness was not planning if something wrong during production as
anything could of happened that was worse than my background not
fitting the screen like Photoshop stop working again or premier not
working either.
Time Management
• My time management was good until my problem but then was sorted by
the end of second week and I was on time with my production. By the end
of the last week I have all my work completed.
• If I had longer I would believe my product would have been a better
quality and better animation.
• If I had more time I would of spent more time on the animation part to
make the idea of the game show more clearly and to give it more of a
smooth transition
• I believe I managed my time well even with the problem right in the
middle I have still been able to catch up and get my work as closed to
finished as I can
Technical Qualities
The strengths of my work would be the
level of detail in the pixel art. My
weakness would be the animation as it
was not complex, but it also wasn't
smooth either.
To compare this to the existing product
of defeat the boss, I would expect my
game to not be as good as the
animation and audio was well fixated
to make it smooth and less glitchy so
it’s a better quality. I will say the pixel
detail is a lot as there are little details in
the clouds and trees and in the little
additions to the rooms. Both games are
similar in defeating the boss idea but are
completely different designs .

Aural Qualities
The strengths of the sound is it sound great and give the game a more childish
feel to it. The weaknesses however is the music as it could of corressponded with
the movements of the character, or as the screen moved through the game, I
could of also added dialogue from the boss to give it a different effect to also
improve.
In the game defeat the boss the audio is not as fun its dull and the sound effects
when the boss is hit are good because it sounds like an actual slap or gun shot.
Audio elements I could add are better sound effects when hit, sound to go
along with the movements and a quite low sound for the background to add
tension when playing the game.
Aesthetic Qualities
My work looks acceptable to play as its colourful and fun. I would improve the audio
mainly to flow better with the game itself and try and link it up to the movements. My
game design was very creative from the way each screen was composed in the art
structure in the animation side it wasn’t as creative as I had hoped.
I like the visual colour designs and the idea of the game itself, my products animation
could be improved, this could be done by the movements being less staggering, also I
could change the way the boss is defeated and give hints throughout the game to give it
more context.
Throughout my game it's based inside, but the opening scene is like a walk to work, the
colours are to be eye catching and also quite office like feel, characters increase in size
as levels go up but decrease when are hit I tried to incorporate this but it did not
succeed into the game itself.
I have discussed the strengths and waekaness' throughout this slide.
Audience Appeal
I have tried appealing to the audience of 16 to 19 year olds, I did this because
teenagers from 16 to 19 year olds spend most of their lives on their phone or bored
this would be great entertainment as they could defeat the boss in any way they
wanted as long as the boss doesn’t get the health points if the weapon missed or the
boss dodges the attack.
The colours and the design
of the game function was
to feel like an old video
game they had in the
1980s on an arcade game
machine to give it that
more of a fun feel
It could also attract the older people who like a classical
game idea that will keep them busy during work times when
its quiet or nothing to do

7. evaluation

  • 2. Research • My strengths in my research would be finding games related to my option. The games needed to relate to: pixel / defeating bad guy and trying to get to the top or beating the level. • The weakness would be finding more games or ideas to do with my game option as it would of helped more so I could figure out bases that I was figuring out during the production stage, I could of improved a lot in my opinion if I thought more about each section in the research. • My research was simple and highly improvable as I could of put more in and I could of also involved a vote or find statistics to see what type of game in pixels would be the top choice for everyone
  • 3. Planning • I had an organised plan set out to begin with. Start with the first 4 documents then test out the experiments and then go to production and finish with the last 3 documents on the last day but the schedule was broken as I had a problem with the back ground so I had to to take and extra few lessons from the documents to finish my product of. • Further planning has worked sufficiently well as I have been finishing documents of at home and uploading them at home as well to save time in class. • My weakness was not planning if something wrong during production as anything could of happened that was worse than my background not fitting the screen like Photoshop stop working again or premier not working either.
  • 4. Time Management • My time management was good until my problem but then was sorted by the end of second week and I was on time with my production. By the end of the last week I have all my work completed. • If I had longer I would believe my product would have been a better quality and better animation. • If I had more time I would of spent more time on the animation part to make the idea of the game show more clearly and to give it more of a smooth transition • I believe I managed my time well even with the problem right in the middle I have still been able to catch up and get my work as closed to finished as I can
  • 5. Technical Qualities The strengths of my work would be the level of detail in the pixel art. My weakness would be the animation as it was not complex, but it also wasn't smooth either. To compare this to the existing product of defeat the boss, I would expect my game to not be as good as the animation and audio was well fixated to make it smooth and less glitchy so it’s a better quality. I will say the pixel detail is a lot as there are little details in the clouds and trees and in the little additions to the rooms. Both games are similar in defeating the boss idea but are completely different designs . This is my product as you can see it's not well drawn but it's clear and colourful Same as the existing product. My product is more of a classic fighting with weak weapons not like the existing product
  • 6. Aural Qualities The strengths of the sound is it sound great and give the game a more childish feel to it. The weaknesses however is the music as it could of corressponded with the movements of the character, or as the screen moved through the game, I could of also added dialogue from the boss to give it a different effect to also improve. In the game defeat the boss the audio is not as fun its dull and the sound effects when the boss is hit are good because it sounds like an actual slap or gun shot. Audio elements I could add are better sound effects when hit, sound to go along with the movements and a quite low sound for the background to add tension when playing the game.
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities My work looks acceptable to play as its colourful and fun. I would improve the audio mainly to flow better with the game itself and try and link it up to the movements. My game design was very creative from the way each screen was composed in the art structure in the animation side it wasn’t as creative as I had hoped. I like the visual colour designs and the idea of the game itself, my products animation could be improved, this could be done by the movements being less staggering, also I could change the way the boss is defeated and give hints throughout the game to give it more context. Throughout my game it's based inside, but the opening scene is like a walk to work, the colours are to be eye catching and also quite office like feel, characters increase in size as levels go up but decrease when are hit I tried to incorporate this but it did not succeed into the game itself. I have discussed the strengths and waekaness' throughout this slide.
  • 8. Audience Appeal I have tried appealing to the audience of 16 to 19 year olds, I did this because teenagers from 16 to 19 year olds spend most of their lives on their phone or bored this would be great entertainment as they could defeat the boss in any way they wanted as long as the boss doesn’t get the health points if the weapon missed or the boss dodges the attack. The colours and the design of the game function was to feel like an old video game they had in the 1980s on an arcade game machine to give it that more of a fun feel It could also attract the older people who like a classical game idea that will keep them busy during work times when its quiet or nothing to do
