1. Since an early age, I have developed an interest in art as well as when I hit the later stages of high school. I
developed an interest in digital showcasing of products such as movie marketing. From a young age, I have
had an eye for art and intricate designs from paper to digital pieces.
After I evaluated my choices, I chose creative media as it suited my interests. I wanted to develop my skills
in character animation, filmography and photography editing, planning, development. I have found an
interest in creative media as I have learned more about how to target a specific audience instead of making
it to suit everyone, as well as how different types of media is more suitable compared to another like
informative projects would suit audio and print where entertainment is more filmand video games
oriented.
In this course, I would say my strengths are situated in the artistic and organization of my projects. Another
strength I believe is how I find a way to execute my projects with different styles and techniques that I
involve to which appeals to certain audience types. However, I believe that my weaknesses are my
independence and my need to make the product perfect instead of what I'm capable of.
The skills I have developed in this course are in the applications of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Animate.
I have also developed further in my teamwork, time management, and my communication skills since the
beginning of this course; I did this by using the planning and development process. The skills I've learned in
photoshop is how to use the quick selection tool to select a part of the image and edit or erase it as well as
I have learned to use the lasso tool to select an object and move that object around. I already knew most
of the tools; those two were ones I've never used in my artwork. I have learned how to edit photos and
videos using the colour hue wheel in a Premiere Pro; my example would be the lyric music video I did in
the first year of my course. I have also developed the ability to understand the tools in the application
Animate and that each moving section should have its own layer to be able to be edited.
I picked this course as I was expecting to start at level two, so I can build my skills and understanding of the
course. I started at Level 3 in consideration of my artwork and my planning skills during the art projects.
This course spiked my interest as it doesn't just focus on the art, but it also focuses on the planning and
techniques of each project. My current job is working in a kid's inn area enough though that does not fit
into the aspect of my course, it has helped me with communication skills between myself and the
client/customers as I was not all too confident to begin with, I can answer the customer if they need help
with either department. I was also part of young firefighters in which I have gotten a BTEC Certificate in the
fire service with a medal alongside. This opportunity has helped me develop life skills such as what I need
to do in an emergency with an injured person, whether if a fire has started. I've also developed teamwork
skills and leadership skills while taking part in this two-year course.
I am looking to be able to start my own production company to help advertise other organizations and jobs
or become a media marketer within the same type of industry. In university, I want to learn what aspects
of the industry are most effective and how I can adapt my skills in different environments and with
different and more sophisticated equipment. I also want to be challenged in creative scenarios, which
reflects the industry practice so that I gain more work experience to develop and build my abilities of
creativity and storytelling and establish a professional demeanour. I enjoy creating something new to the
eye of any audience that helps reflect a person's understanding of what they see in the image or film. I
intend to develop and adapt the skills that I have learned already, as well as learn new skills to further my
skill set.
