The Supply Of Supply Chain Management Essay
The supply chain management basically involves processes and activities which are involved in the
planning, organising, controlling and implementing the cost effective flow of goods from the point of
origin to the point of consumption. The whole process will have different players like the supplier,
manufacturer, distributor, retailers and the customers themselves as the end point of consumption. The
supply chain has changed drastically over the years. This days they are very global in nature.
Involving various complex interactions and flow of goods, data and funds between companies which
are situated in different countries and continents. Even though the companies are spread across the
world the manufacturing plants generally follow a similar structure which normally comprises of the
suppliers, manufacturing plants, distributors, retailers, inbound and outbound logistics providers.
There were a lot of challenges which arose because of the competition which made the companies to
rethink their strategies in order to get the product to the right place at the right time at the lowest cost
possible. The companies should always look at improving the whole supply chain and every player in
the chain should coordinate with one another if they want to increase the efficiency. The organisation
should realise the strategic importance of supply chain as it is a key to building a sustainable
competitive edge. (Li, Ragu Nathan, Ragu Nathan, Rao, 2006). There is always a constant flow

A Summary Of The Most Powerful Women In Advertising
The article The Most Powerful Women in Advertising highlights the introduction of women in
advertising. Women make up a small percentage of advertising managers; however, they don t match
their male peers in the managerial ranks. Based on table one, the number of women as advertising and
promotions managers has increased steadily. From 1983 2015, women in this occupation rose from
21.8% 56.5%. The most obvious answer for the increase is that with technology rapidly expanding,
women as a target market have increased. Another assumption for this increase is the fact that women
account for a high percentage of shoppers in households and women are better at speaking to each
other. Even in race and ethnicity, the percentages have increased. The conclusion that I have drawn
from table one is there is a demand for women, African Americans, Asians and Hispanics as
Advertising and promotions managers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Table 2 shows that the median wages is constantly increasing; however, it also shows that the ratio
between men and women is increasing. Although women are more in demand, yet men continue to
make more. I looked at the number for 2015 and it seems the number is increasing. The women s
earnings as a percentage of men have increased to 78.5%. The conclusions that can be drawn are the
gap between men and women median wages are closing. In the future, women and men just might
make the around the same or exactly the same wages as an Advertising and Promotions Manager. For
my data, I used the Marketing and Sales managers because they are relatively similar in job

Greed in Candide
In Voltaire s novella Candide, the main character s newly found wealth from an idealized Eldorado is
exploited by the world s fixation of greed that ultimately effects himself and others as he learns that
money cannot buy happiness. Candide is brought up amongst greed, reared in a castle in a small
corner of the world in Westphalia with the privileges of being the son of a baron s sister, his life is
ultimately influenced by this example of money and power. His journey into the world, after his
expulsion, begins with the notion that everything is for the best from his philosopher Pangloss that
every cause has a reaction (Voltaire 2). It isn t until he is out of Europe traveling with his servant ...

Eldorado s jewels create ambitious greed in Candide, overshadowing his main concern of surviving
for his Cunegonde. Candide truly believes in the philosophy that indeed everything is for the best and
Eldorado is the ideal place for this notion to flourish but he leaves this beautiful dream out of spite
because he cannot function in a society that cannot be bought (Silver 2). The very true world he
despises is actually the only place he has succeeded.
After leaving Eldorado with numerous sheep packed with goods and fifty loaded with gold, jewels,
and diamonds they are only left with two after a hundred days march that strained the convoy to its
limits of starvation (Voltaire 39). They reach a Dutch town where they learn that Miss Cunegonde is a
mistress to the governor in Buenos Aires and set out to find a merchant ship to set sail. The Spanish
merchant Candide and Cacambo hire to transport them tells them they must not return for fear of
being hanged and instead sends Cacambo with several millions to purchase her away. The men were
to rendezvous in Italy once Candide secured a second vessel to take him. He finally procures a Dutch
ship captained by a Mr. Vanderdendur who offers to take Candide to Italy for ten thousand piasters ,
notices the ease at which he agrees and soon increases the fee to twenty then thirty thousand piasters
(Voltaire 41). He soon figures out that the sheep must be holding all the money and boards

Overt And Covert Facial Recognition Essay
Facial recognition involves the identification of individuals through the use of their facial features and,
or expressions (MS, 2017). The model of facial recognition seeks to discover exactly how the brain is
able to recognize facial features both consciously and unconsciously (Schweinberger Burton, 2003).
The following set of experiments seeks to study overt and covert facial recognition (Schweinberger
Burton, 2003). Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces (Maureen,
2016). Whereas, overt facial recognition involves conscious facial recognition (Maureen, 2016). There
are many considerable methods used by researchers to examine the process of covert and, or overt
facial recognition (Schweinberger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each study discussed above examines the model of facial recognition and its relation to overt and
covert recognition. Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces
(Maureen, 2016). Whereas, overt facial recognition is the conscious recognition (Maureen, 2016).
There has been a vast amount of research on the topic in an attempt to discover exactly how the
recognition of facial features/expressions take place in the brain and how it can be linked to certain
neurological disorders. Overall, results from each study examined tend to suggest that overt and covert
facial recognition share the same area of the brain. Research by Farah and colleagues did not support
this idea however, they do not deny it either. Rather, they suggest the possibility of separate forms of
prosopagnosia, one causing damage to both overt and covert facial recognition while the other(s)
cause damage to only one of the functions. This study, however, is also much older than the others
examined which could be a result of lack of information that overtime was learned by others. The
majority of research suggests that damage to overt facial recognition will in time result in damage to
covert facial recognition. Thus meaning if one is damaged it is only a matter of time before the other
starts to suffer. However, with it not being the case one hundred percent of the time it would not be
fair to assume that and ignore opposing research. There are many different ideas and findings on the
subject and hopefully with time researchers will be able to learn whether or not the damage of one
area guarantees the damage of the

Comparing The Map Model And The Skyscraper Model
1. Compare and contrast the Skyscraper Model and the culture as a Map model. Which do you prefer
and why? The Skyscraper model divides culture in to high and low. This is superior products at the top
and inferior ones at the bottom. The high culture is known as the fine art group. Examples of high
culture (the top of the tower) is ballet and the syphomy. The low culture is known as the junk group.
The low culture (the bottom of the tower) is rock music and video games. The Skyscraper model has
allowed critics to develop five areas of concern: inability to appreciate fine art, a tendency to exploit
high culutre, a throway ethic, a diminishing audience for high culture, and dulling our cultural taste
buds. The second model is the Map Model. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Time is the one constant in life that one cannot change and both Humbert Humbert and Keats try to
evade it by trying to stop time. In Ode on a Grecian Urn, resembling John Keats, Humbert Humbert

disillusion. One can see through textural evidence that Humbert craves the innocence of a past
relationship that was uncompleted though his desire to replicate this relationship with Lolita. Humbert

Complex Adaptive Systems ( Cass ) And The Relationships...
Introduction
Complexity science is the study of complex adaptive systems (CASs) and the relationships that occur
within them. CASs are a function of what has previously occurred, what is currently occurring, and
are open to energy and information from the environment all around them (Chaffee McNeill, 2007).
The boundaries that define theses systems are fuzzy; each individual is their own CAS that is
influenced by a multitude of other CASs, all of which may belong to increasingly larger CASs. The
health care system is a CAS in and of itself that is made of a multitude of smaller CASs hospitals,
floors, units, and individuals. There are a many characteristics that help to make up and define what a
CAS is. Understanding these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While extremely beneficial, this tool can also become a hindrance when supplies are not restocked or
are placed in the wrong location. Another important member of this floor is the charge nurse who acts
as a liaison between patients, nurses, shifts, and hospital administrators. The charge nurse does not
have a set of patients assigned to them specifically, but helps nurses to get caught up when they fall
behind and acts in a generalized way to keep the floor functioning. The floor receptionist helps to
direct patient calls to the appropriate personnel, but this person is only present at certain times during
the day. Also visiting at any given time are physicians, chaplains, respiratory therapists, wound nurses,
IV therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and a variety of other hospital personnel.
With all of these individuals coming and going, this floor is constantly abuzz with movement as
everyone works together to help the patients who populate this floor receive the health care they need.
CAS 1 Simple Rules Applied Locally
Because of its status as a CAS, there are certain defining characteristics of this floor that when

simple rules are present in almost everything we do; they help us to

What is healthy eating? How can you achieve healthy and at the same time smart way of eating?
These questions can really trigger the thinking of some people out there that had been eating but are
not aware if what they are eating is actually healthy and smart enough to meet their daily needs.
Healthy eating is never really about any strict and word for word nutritional theories and philosophies.
It is not also having an unrealistic slim body, nor depriving and not allowing yourself to take the food
that you love. Healthy eating is actually feeling great about it, using the right amount of energy, and
making and seeing yourself healthy in all possible means. In addition, all of these can be achieved by

Opting for fresh fruits and vegetables can be one of the key points that are lacking and not included in
the diet of most people. This is primarily because of the price. However, an option that we can take
here is to try to find some local shops that sell out cheap but quality produce.
Farmers market is also another option that can give you low prices as compared with the supermarkets
and groceries. Making this big leap is not only a major benefit to your health but also it can extend the
shelf life of the products; this will in turn lower down the potential of wasting.
There are still other ways that you can do in order to eat healthy and smart. A lot of online suggestions
are also given. And take note that trying to make a healthy diet that you want to achieve overnight is
impossible. When you try to change everything that you were used to, and doing it all at once is like
cheating on yourself, too. Gradually but surely is more likely.
Remember that healthy or smart eating do not have to be totally expensive and luxurious. All you need
to do is some proper planning and going out of your way to look for healthy and practical options.,
instead of just moping there and doing

Essay On Bilingual Education
2.3. Bilingual education and its types
Bilingual education is a simple label to describe a very complex phenomenon. It should be a
distinction between education that uses and promotes two languages, and the relatively monolingual
education in a second language. There is a difference between the kind where the formal instruction
develops the bilingualism and another in the classroom where the bilingual child is present, but the
curriculum does not promote bilingualism, i.e. the end is not bilingualism (C. Baker, 2011: 207).
Mackey (1970) believes that bilingual education should be as wide as possible in order to
accommodate all the ways in which researchers could have used the definition in the past.
Bilingual education should be limited to creating educational programs that encourage the use of two
languages as a medium of instruction rather than the language of instruction itself. Bilingual education
is a generic term used to describe education in schools that have in common the use of two languages.
This would be bilingual education that goes from this work: an education whose objective is to
encourage and promote the use of bilingualism. We discard the other distinction as bilingualism is not
the end in our Curriculum and bilingual child is not present in our classrooms. ... Show more content

The Presidential Debate At Longwood University Essay
The Vice Presidential debate, held at Longwood University on October 4th, was between the
Democratic candidate, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and Republican candidate, Indiana Governor Mike
Pence. Specific issues were asked about by the moderator, Elaine Quijano, such as specific qualities of
the candidates that would make them good leaders if tragedy were to occur. However, the candidates
used much of their allotted time to target the opposing presidential candidate and would then interrupt
their opponent multiple times throughout their answer. Comparing the citizenship qualification of the
United States to Germany may be helpful in solving the current immigration problems facing our

Republican campaign looks to build on the current enforcement only policies and the Democratic
campaign seeks to secure the country while attempting to help immigrants and their families.
The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has shown an openly negative opinion of immigration,
specifically of Muslims and Mexicans. The common remark people remember is Trump s promise to
build a massive border wall, which would be devastating to the economy. Mike Pence focused his
reply to the question of immigration on the safety of American citizens being the top priority. He also

Alienation In The Martian Chronicles
The feeling of alienation is one that no humans want to experience. In Ray Bradbury s The Martian
Chronicles, Bradbury allows the reader to grasp a greater understanding of what alienation is like by
bringing the story to a world of actual aliens. By doing so, Bradbury sets a wall between the
extraterrestrial setting of the book and humanity s reality on earth. He also creates a sense of
separation by never allowing the story s characters to live too far throughout the book. This tactic
keeps the reader from gaining a connection between the characters. The state of being alienated is
defined as being withdrawn. The way Bradbury writes this book allows the reader to not only read
about alienation, but to truly understand it too. Bradbury begins ... Show more content on

In today s society, the divorce rate is about 50%. The loss of love in a relationship is shown in The
Martian Chronicles. The characters Mr. and Mrs. K struggle to keep their relationship alive. They
barely talk and it rare for them to go out into town. When Mr. K finally does request that him and his
wife go into town with their odd, birdlike pets, Mrs. K finds that she doesn t want too. Love has to be
tended to throughout a relationship, not just in minimal moments. This is something that is true from
Earth to Mars. Love is a main topic in this book. There are examples of a loveless marriage, loss of a
love one, wanting to meet new love, and the pain of losing a loved one. Love is an emotion that all
humans can sympathize with, whether is be because of a partner or family member (Anna Minore).
When lines like I thought: Well, here I am, the only lady on Mars, and here is the only man, and,
well... (Bradbury 148) are said, the yearning for love is prominent even among characters from
another planet. Bradbury shows that there are some traits that carry through no matter the type of life
form. Animals feel love, humans feel love, so why should martians not experience the same emotion?

Isabel Allende Feminism
Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942, in Lima, Peru, to TomĂĄs and Francisca Allende. Isabel
Allende is the goddaughter of Salvador Allende, the first socialist president of Chile who was her
father s cousin. Allende s father was a diplomat and deserted the family when Allende was just two
years. Allende, her siblings, and mother then moved in with her grandfather in Chile. Allende
remembers herself as a rebellious child during those years living with her grandfather. We lived in an
affluent house with no money, (Allende, 14). My grandfather would pay for what was necessary but
my mother did not even have the cash to buy us an ice cream. I wanted to be like my grandfather
because my mother had a terrible life and he had all the privileges and the power and the freedom and
the car I think that was the moment I started to rebel against all male authority: the police, the church,
everything. (Allende 15). This empowering attitude that Allledne has is shown in most of her literary
work such as The Storys of Eva Luna, House of Spirits, and Eva Luna. Allende grew up in an
atmosphere where women were inferior to men and this is why Allende writes stories where the
woman is strong and independent. To many readers, Allende comes across as a feminist and
empowering author because most of Allende s work is about how women can succeed without the
need of a man but don t get this wrong, Allende also is known for her romanticism in her stories
specially on a Gift for a SweetHeart. The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende is a compilation of
many short stories focusing on universal themes centering on human emotions. Gift for a Sweetheart
is one of these stories which is about a man named Horacio Fortunato who falls desperately in love
with a married woman named Patricia Zimmerman. Fortunato overcomes many defeats of both the
monetary and emotional kind and through perseverance, he finally gains an audience by his true love.
Perseverance eventually leads to the fulfillment of a goal. This perseverance could be related to

Environmental Impacts Of Marine Biodiversity Essay
The state of Florida is known for its beautiful waters and diverse marine ecosystems. Millions of
people visit the state each year to vacation and enjoy Florida s many tourist attractions. One of Florida
largest attractions is its fishing. People come from all over the world to experience Florida s exciting
and productive fisheries. Florida is even called the fishing capital of the world. The state not only has
the largest number of recreational fisherman in the country it also has the second largest commercial
fishing industry. Commercial fishing in Florida has deep historical roots dating all the way back to the
1800s. In some parts of Florida whole towns and economies are centered around the commercial
fishing industry. This has led to depleted populations of several fish species in many of these areas.
The commercial extraction of large numbers of individuals from targeted marine populations and the
inadvertent by catch and habitat damage that results from that extraction have been identified as
among the most critical factors currently affecting marine biodiversity ( Brailovskaya 1236) Due to its
environmental impacts, there should be more regulation on commercial fishing including stricter size
limits, and bag limits on fish. Implementation of bycatch reduction technologies should be required of
all commercial fisherman and no fishing zones should be established.
State regulations and limits of different species have become very controversial and many people

Examples Of Loyalty In The Odyssey
Loyalty is the act of being faithful to one s leader or party and keeping their commitments. In the
Odyssey, loyalty is shown by Odysseus and his men as they make their long, treacherous journey
home to Ithaca after the long battle of Troy. This story explains how showing loyalty to others is key
in any relationship. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is loyal to his men while his men are loyal to him,
making a good relationship. In the beginning, it summarizes the journey made by Odysseus and his
men. It says, while he [Odysseus] fought only to save his life, to bring his shipmates home (Homer
895). This quote shows that Odysseus is fighting to save his shipmates lives and bring them back
home to their families. By doing this, Odysseus is

Divine Command Theory And Natural Law Theory
Religion has always been a central part of human history, tracing back to the earliest known records in
human existence. From the ancient Egyptians to the Mayans, from the Celts to the Greeks and
Romans, from Hinduism to Judaism to Catholicism, religion has always been the center of human
culture. Recent studies have suggested that religion was centered on advanced alien races whose
technology was misunderstood. However, one thing is undeniable, these age old systems of belief and
worship of a higher being or deity were, in a sense, their own moral systems, two of which are Divine
Command Theory and Natural Law Theory. These two systems, among others, once guided and
advised ancient humans in moral judgements. Divine Command Theory is a proposed relationship
between moral correctness and the higher deity s commands, henceforth the deity will be called god.
This situation is elaborated upon in a dialogue between Socrates and Euthyphro, in where Socrates
asks Euthyphro what it means to be pious or to be morally right. After failed attempts to answer this,
Socrates proposes two options to this question that is known as the Euthyphro Dilemma, Is the pious
loved by the gods because it is pious? Or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? (text). In other
words, is the pious thing inherently pious (a.k.a morally right) and therefore is loved by the gods, or is
being loved by the gods what causes something to be morally right. In effect, it asks whether moral
rightness was

Demon Lover
Demon Lover is a story that gives an opportunity to the reader to chose between reality and fiction.
The story provides enough information to believe the lover is actually a paranormal being. I believe it
is a paranormal being that follows the lady from the story because of the all the evidence it provides.
At first we are told the lover made the lady an eternal or a promise out of this world. As well, the story
says that no human eye was watching her. This piece of evidence is really important because it makes
the reader think and relate the title of the story with a question of whether the lover is human or indeed
a demon. Later on the story, the letter she received made the reader think about the coincidence she
found. The day she read the

Bilingualism Myths
There are many myths about bilingualism having negative effects. One of those myths are that babies
are hopelessly confused by exposure to two languages. However, studies have proven that learning
more than one language as an infant is actually very beneficial and not difficult to do. According to
Judith F. Kroll, babies develop the ability to discriminate the languages that they listen to and are more
open to learning a new language. A study by Ferran Pons and other colleagues, revealed how bilingual
children show an earlier attentional shift to the mouth. This is due to the fact that bilingual infants rely
more on the perceptual salient of audiovisual speech cues in order to to construct two different
language systems. Furthermore, another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is why there should be a program created at the University of California, Riverside. This program
should be available to everyone in the community. Furthermore, the program would consist of
sessions in which the data and studies done on bilingual infants can be presented and broken down.
The way in which the information is presented is very crucial because there are certain things that
make it difficult to explain. The information about the benefits of bilingualism in infants will be
presented by taking the studies conducted and breaking down everything completely, including the
terms and the data. These sessions will be open to whoever wants to inform themselves or has
concerns about exposing their babies to more than one language. In addition, the program will allow
those who have first hand experiences with being bilingual from infancy or who have bilingual infants
to speak about the benefits. However, if the program were to only be accessible by going to UCR then
it would make it difficult for many to find the time to attend. Just as many other programs such as
health programs, go around schools informing parents this program will mobilize itself. By mobilizing
this program we will be able to reach more people. The places that we would target the most would be
elementary schools, daycare centers, and certain clinics that deal with pregnant parents. These would
be very good places to go to and inform parents about bilingual infants because it would still be a
good time for them to do so. This program could also inform them about the other benefits of
bilingualism throughout an individual s life span. Lastly, it would be more beneficial to inform them
about all the other benefits as well because the parents or future parents will be able to see how
exposing their child to more than one language will really benefit them in the long

Progressivism Essay
Progressivism
The Progressive Movement in the late nineteenth century, early twentieth century presented quite a
situation for historians to conquer. At the turn of the twentieth century political questioning was the
norm. Practically every historian that writes about this time period has a different opinion of what
made up Progressive Movement, some even going so far to beg the question if it was actually a
movement or if it was more of an era. The two are interchanged so often that they have in many ways
come to mean the same thing although according to some they are distinctly different.

He discusses the agrarian myth in some depth and argues that the agrarian populism eventually
evolves into part of the progressive movement. His book is one of the main sources that Peter Filene
argues against in his article questioning the existence progressivism as a movement.
Peter Filene s article presents the idea that Progressivism was not a movement at all but more of a
jumbled mess of similar ideas that occurred around the same period in history. Filene seeks to prove
that the progressive movement never existed. (Article 1, p. 20) He believed that there are too many
discrepancies between the ideas of different historians and that if it were an actual movement that the
definitions of the progressive movement/era would be consistent with each other. The only real
agreement that Filene finds between the many differing opinions is the goals of the time period. He
includes as the standard list of progressive objectives... constraints on monopolies, trusts and big
banking interests; regulation of railroad rates; lower tariffs; the direct primary; initiative, referendum
and recall; direct election of U.S. Senators; women s suffrage; child and female labor laws; pure food
and drug laws and conservation. (Article 1, p. 21) Filene explains the discrepancies between the many
historians views. He then asks the question, with so many different initiatives and so many different
groups working towards similar goals how it can be considered

Taking a Look at Quantitative Easing
During the financial crisis in 2008, the Central Banks (CB) tried to repair the economy by setting in
action an open market operation (OMO). An OMO is where the CB buys short term bonds to increase
the money supply. The CB s across the globe had to use a monetary policy instead of a fiscal policy,
partly due to countries sovereign debt problems . The CB s were buying short term bonds until the real
interest rate fell to zero. When the real interest rate fell to zero it created liquidity trap. And CBs had to
look to unconventional monetary policies to create a higher output. This paper will seek to answer if
unconventional monetary policies, specifically quantitative easing (QE), were effective on the
economy or not. First, this paper will explain what liquidity trap and how it is relevant. Second, it will
explain how QE work. Third, it will conclude if QE were effective or not. To question whether QE
were effective or not it will use the American economy. This paper will illustrate liquidity trap and QE
by using the models: MS MD, IS LM and AS AD. Liquidity trap is when short term interest rate on
short term bonds falls close to zero or zero and OMO has no affect on the interest rate. When the
interest rate are close or at zero, the demand curve is flat or very elastic, so an increase in the money
supply will not have any affect on the interest rate. The demand curve for money is flat because
people are anticipating a deflation or any negative shock to the economy, and

The Pros And Cons Of Gun Laws
In the United States, the gun laws need to be tightened, the laws that are in place now are too loose. If
the United States tighten the gun laws we could cut down on deaths. It would also cut down on people
acquiring firearms illegally like through families and friends, and legally but in unsafe ways like the
Charleston Loophole. If the United States passes tighter gun laws the deaths would decrease and the
United States will be a bit of a nicer place.
The Charleston Loophole is a big example of the reason the United States needs tighter Gun Laws.
From the years 2010 through 2016, the loophole allowed about 23,000 guns to be sold to dangerous
people (source 1). To buy a gun you had to go through a three business day background check. If that
check could not be completed within the three business day time period, by federal law the stores were
allowed to sell people the guns without the background check completed. If there was a larger time
period for the background check the problem of dangerous people getting firearms, would diminish.
All the background checks that have been completed have blocked more than two million dangerous
people from getting firearms (also source 1). Also, most likely saved many lives which could have
been taken if the people whose background checks were blocked.
Another reason we should place tighter gun laws is that of how easy it is to acquire a gun. An article
from the New York Times reviews a documentary called The New Radical . That documentary talked
about a person named Cody Wilson, who released the first known 3D printer plans to create a gun. He
named the gun The Liberator, and it is a single shot pistol made in a 3D printer. His gun plans had
people questioning the boundaries of the 2nd amendment. Most other people would use the easier way
like Daniel Webster said: When criminals get guns, they get them from friends, family, or from an
underground market source. (source 1 article 2) Meaning that criminals and dangerous people could
have a friend who is not convicted of a crime or clean buy the gun they use to kill or hurt a lot of
people. This just shows how easy it is to obtain a working gun or gun substitute. The people who

The Managerial Theories Of Public Administration
Public administration is sets to identify the formulation and policies of the executive branch, also
playing a part in the judicial and legislative branches; implementing public policies; involved in
problems concerning human behavior and operative human efforts; involved with the production of
public goods and services. Public administration is also closely associated with numerous of private
groups and individuals which provide multiple services to the communities.
Max Weber went on to define administration as legal rationale, as actions in pursuit of conscious
purpose of an organized system of affairs and applying operational efficiency to making them happen
as one wanted (Stillman, 2010). Marshall Dimock made two common observations made about public
administrations depending on the type of work one was responsible for which included the managerial
views and the integral view. The managerial view suggested that only managerial responsibilities were
included in public administration. The view on integral suggested that public administration
incorporated managerial, technical, clerical, and manual responsibilities consisting of employees of all
levels. The public interest would refer to the security and welfare of the citizens within the country
compared to that of a private company or person. The rights of the citizens is supported, protected and
recognized by the government and its agencies. Although in many instances the term of public interest

The Liver and Mitochondrial Damage
What is the root cause of this Vicious Cycle?
Mitochondrial damage is a normal part of aging, but is accelerated in many metabolic disorders.
Chronic deficiencies and gut imbalances can destroys the mitochondrial membranes and lead to the
modern diseases we see today.
The liver is our most valuable organ, we can only survive one or two days if it shuts down. Some of
the most import functions of the liver include: Clearing the blood of waste products, drugs, and other
poisonous substances. The liver also produces immune factors and removes bacteria from the
bloodstream to help combat infection. There are many inflammatory conditions that can affect the
liver s detoxification process. The medical term hepatitis literally means inflammation of the liver.
Chronic fatigue, and many other chronic illnesses can be aggravated by a buildup of toxins. Multiple
chemical sensitivity can also be a problem that can include an intolerance to caffeine, alcohol,
perfumes, and cleaning agents. These intolerance s tends to get progressively worsen over time and
can be very damaging to the mitochondria.
The Sulfotransferase metabolism is very important in Phase II detoxification, which is responsible for
the detoxification of many compounds. Some of these compounds are phenols, amines, sulfide,
salicylates, food additives, and many other toxic molecules as well as nutritious foods considered to be
very healthy. Malfunction of the Phenol Sulfotransferase (PST) enzyme can cause an overload

Religion In Mahatma Gandhi
Another trait Gandhi possessed due to his religion was courage. Mahatma Gandhi had no fear. To
Gandhi fearlessness was an imperative part of religion. He even described religion by saying, Where
there is fear there is no religion ( Young India, 2 9 26, 308). Further, Gandhi believed this courage to
follow one s beliefs improved all aspects of life. Gandhi once said, Religion which takes no account of
practical affairs and does not help to solve them, is no religion ( Young India, 7 5 25, 164). Religion to
Gandhi required an effect on everyday life. Gandhi had no fear and allowed religion to affect his daily
affairs. This was imperative to the many radical movements and ideas Gandhi proposed. When he
founded the Natal Indian Congress at twenty five, he was a tabula rasa: he tried out ideas which in an
established political organization would have been directly laughed at (Nanda, Shri B. R). However,
due to his fearlessness, even when faced with defeat, Gandhi pushed onwards. He stated, Defeat
cannot dishearten me. It can only chasten me. I know that God will guide me ( Young India, 3 7 24,
218). And by pushing onwards, Gandhi was able to see change in India and change in the world.
Furthermore, because of his faith in God, Gandhi was not scared of other physical dangers. He stated,
God saves me so long as He wants me in this body. The moment His wants are satisfied, no
precautions on my part will save me ( Bapu s Letters to Mira, 91). Gandhi wasn t afraid,

Summary Of The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian...
Native Americans are mostly judged by their addictions and the battles they fought. They are not
normally judged by the hardships they had to face. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian
and Smoke Signals show that these struggles are real. In his book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part
Time Indian, and his movie, Smoke Signals, Sherman Alexie wrote about the challenges of being a
Native American. Diary and Smoke Signals are similar because they both showed many family
problems throughout the story lines. Also, they are similar in that the families faced difficulty with
alcohol addiction. They differ because in Diary, the main character, Junior, adapts to his new school
that has all white students while in Smoke Signals, Victor tries not to interact with anyone outside his
race.
First, Diary and Smoke Signals characters have both had some difficult times dealing with family
problems from abuse to death. In Smoke Signals, Victor s dad, Arnold, physically abused Victor when
he was a child. Immediately after Arnold hit Victor, Arnold said, I didn t mean to (Smoke Signals).
The abuse was a large factor into why Arnold left Victor when he was a child. However in Diary, there
is case of abuse involving Rowdy, Junior s friend. Rowdy s father would constantly hit him. Rowdy
would walk around with bruises and scars showing and he acted like he was proud of them. Junior
from Diary also went through a hardship because his grandmother died when she was hit by a car.

female relatives viewpoints and excludes Trueba s version, is a direct block to Trueba s egotistic, stiff,

Nestled in the Samarian hills of Israel s biblical heartland, the town of Itamar is yet another testament

gradient, where mortality progressively decreases as one s socioeconomic status improves. He
illustrates this using mortality rate data about workers in the British civil service from the Whitehall
studies. The studies show that mortality in all age groups is higher for clerical workers, who earn less
and have a lower social standing, as compared to other professionals. Moreover, administrators, who
earn more than both these groups, have the lowest mortality rates, which shows a gradient in health.
Additionally, none of these workers are in poverty, and have access to medical care, which further
highlights that the health gradient is a phenomenon

However it is critical to understand that when they are conserved in captivity, we prevent them from
getting their main biological needs from the ocean as a natural habitat. With their wide food
spectrums, orcas hunt for turtles, sea lions, crabs, seals and many other food varieties depending on
their ecotypes. This makes them travel over large regions in the ocean in search of the same. Just as
human beings are top of the food chain with regards terrestrial animals, so are orcas in the oceans. It is
therefore important to raise our voices against this practice to avoid the risk of classifying them as

In The Girl Next Door Megan and her sister Susan have to move in with their Aunt Ruth and there
three cousins, Willie, Ralphie, and Donny. Ruth allows her son and the neighborhood boys to come to
the house to drink and smoke. While the boys are over Ruth abuses Megan, physically and
emotionally in front of them. Megan is called a whore and is starved. Ruth beats up Susan and blames
her beatings on Megan. The only person who tries to help Megan and Susan is David, the next door
neighbor. One day Megan goes to the police and as punishment she is put in the cellar and is hung
from the rafters. They all play this game of confession with her. Since she does not play along with the
game they strip her, blindfold her, and put a gag in her mouth. Ruth invites all of the kids in the
neighborhood to the cellar so they can burn, beat and cut her for their own amusement. The next day
Megan gets raped by her cousin Willie while everyone watched. David tried to leave, but was forced
to watch. Ruth heats up a needle and carves I fuck, fuck me on to Megan s stomach. Ruth decides in
order for Megan to never want to be with a guy and for no guy to want her she needs to give Megan a
clitorectomy with a blowtorch. Megan died from all the injuries caused by Ruth. The next morning
David starts a fire in the cellar to get people s attention. Ruth sees that there is a fire and goes in to the
cellar. David then beats Ruth until she s dead with a crutch. A police officer arrived and took Susan to
go get help. The end shows Willie and Donny being arrested. Willie s personality is just like Ruth s.
He is taught and shown how to disregard woman and to take everything from them. Since he is taught
and shown this behavior he thinks it is acceptable to cause harm to another human being. He has the
personality trait of being malicious. His sole being in the movie is to cause harm to Megan and Susan
and to make their life as unpleasant as possible. Willie was in the adolescence stage in the movie
which means he was forming his own identity and seeking independence. This is illustrated when
Willie is not told to act in such way towards his cousin, but does anyway. He is forming his own
decisions that are not based off of anyone around him

  • 2. The Supply Of Supply Chain Management Essay The supply chain management basically involves processes and activities which are involved in the planning, organising, controlling and implementing the cost effective flow of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The whole process will have different players like the supplier, manufacturer, distributor, retailers and the customers themselves as the end point of consumption. The supply chain has changed drastically over the years. This days they are very global in nature. Involving various complex interactions and flow of goods, data and funds between companies which are situated in different countries and continents. Even though the companies are spread across the world the manufacturing plants generally follow a similar structure which normally comprises of the suppliers, manufacturing plants, distributors, retailers, inbound and outbound logistics providers. There were a lot of challenges which arose because of the competition which made the companies to rethink their strategies in order to get the product to the right place at the right time at the lowest cost possible. The companies should always look at improving the whole supply chain and every player in the chain should coordinate with one another if they want to increase the efficiency. The organisation should realise the strategic importance of supply chain as it is a key to building a sustainable competitive edge. (Li, Ragu Nathan, Ragu Nathan, Rao, 2006). • 3. A Summary Of The Most Powerful Women In Advertising The article The Most Powerful Women in Advertising highlights the introduction of women in advertising. Women make up a small percentage of advertising managers; however, they don t match their male peers in the managerial ranks. Based on table one, the number of women as advertising and promotions managers has increased steadily. From 1983 2015, women in this occupation rose from 21.8% 56.5%. The most obvious answer for the increase is that with technology rapidly expanding, women as a target market have increased. Another assumption for this increase is the fact that women account for a high percentage of shoppers in households and women are better at speaking to each other. Even in race and ethnicity, the percentages have increased. The conclusion that I have drawn from table one is there is a demand for women, African Americans, Asians and Hispanics as Advertising and promotions managers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Table 2 shows that the median wages is constantly increasing; however, it also shows that the ratio between men and women is increasing. Although women are more in demand, yet men continue to make more. I looked at the number for 2015 and it seems the number is increasing. The women s earnings as a percentage of men have increased to 78.5%. The conclusions that can be drawn are the gap between men and women median wages are closing. In the future, women and men just might make the around the same or exactly the same wages as an Advertising and Promotions Manager. For my data, I used the Marketing and Sales managers because they are relatively similar in job requirements and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Greed in Candide 11.10.11 Engl 2333 Greed in Candide In Voltaire s novella Candide, the main character s newly found wealth from an idealized Eldorado is exploited by the world s fixation of greed that ultimately effects himself and others as he learns that money cannot buy happiness. Candide is brought up amongst greed, reared in a castle in a small corner of the world in Westphalia with the privileges of being the son of a baron s sister, his life is ultimately influenced by this example of money and power. His journey into the world, after his expulsion, begins with the notion that everything is for the best from his philosopher Pangloss that every cause has a reaction (Voltaire 2). Eldorado s jewels create ambitious greed in Candide, overshadowing his main concern of surviving for his Cunegonde. Candide truly believes in the philosophy that indeed everything is for the best and Eldorado is the ideal place for this notion to flourish but he leaves this beautiful dream out of spite because he cannot function in a society that cannot be bought (Silver 2). The very true world he despises is actually the only place he has succeeded. After leaving Eldorado with numerous sheep packed with goods and fifty loaded with gold, jewels, and diamonds they are only left with two after a hundred days march that strained the convoy to its limits of starvation (Voltaire 39). They reach a Dutch town where they learn that Miss Cunegonde is a mistress to the governor in Buenos Aires and set out to find a merchant ship to set sail. The Spanish merchant Candide and Cacambo hire to transport them tells them they must not return for fear of being hanged and instead sends Cacambo with several millions to purchase her away. The men were to rendezvous in Italy once Candide secured a second vessel to take him. He finally procures a Dutch ship captained by a Mr. Vanderdendur who offers to take Candide to Italy for ten thousand piasters , notices the ease at which he agrees and soon increases the fee to twenty then thirty thousand piasters (Voltaire 41). • 5. Overt And Covert Facial Recognition Essay Facial recognition involves the identification of individuals through the use of their facial features and, or expressions (MS, 2017). The model of facial recognition seeks to discover exactly how the brain is able to recognize facial features both consciously and unconsciously (Schweinberger Burton, 2003). Each study discussed above examines the model of facial recognition and its relation to overt and covert recognition. Covert facial recognition is the unconscious recognition of familiar faces (Maureen, 2016). Whereas, overt facial recognition is the conscious recognition (Maureen, 2016). There has been a vast amount of research on the topic in an attempt to discover exactly how the recognition of facial features/expressions take place in the brain and how it can be linked to certain neurological disorders. Overall, results from each study examined tend to suggest that overt and covert facial recognition share the same area of the brain. Research by Farah and colleagues did not support this idea however, they do not deny it either. Rather, they suggest the possibility of separate forms of prosopagnosia, one causing damage to both overt and covert facial recognition while the other(s) cause damage to only one of the functions. This study, however, is also much older than the others examined which could be a result of lack of information that overtime was learned by others. The majority of research suggests that damage to overt facial recognition will in time result in damage to covert facial recognition. Thus meaning if one is damaged it is only a matter of time before the other starts to suffer. However, with it not being the case one hundred percent of the time it would not be fair to assume that and ignore opposing research. There are many different ideas and findings on the subject and hopefully with time researchers will be able to learn whether or not the damage of one area guarantees the damage of the ... • 12. Essay On Bilingual Education 2.3. Bilingual education and its types Bilingual education is a simple label to describe a very complex phenomenon. It should be a distinction between education that uses and promotes two languages, and the relatively monolingual education in a second language. There is a difference between the kind where the formal instruction develops the bilingualism and another in the classroom where the bilingual child is present, but the curriculum does not promote bilingualism, i.e. the end is not bilingualism (C. Baker, 2011: 207). Mackey (1970) believes that bilingual education should be as wide as possible in order to accommodate all the ways in which researchers could have used the definition in the past. Bilingual education should be limited to creating educational programs that encourage the use of two languages as a medium of instruction rather than the language of instruction itself. Bilingual education is a generic term used to describe education in schools that have in common the use of two languages. Recent studies have suggested that religion was centered on advanced alien races whose technology was misunderstood. At the turn of the twentieth century political questioning was the norm. Practically every historian that writes about this time period has a different opinion of what made up Progressive Movement, some even going so far to beg the question if it was actually a movement or if it was more of an era. The two are interchanged so often that they have in many ways come to mean the same thing although according to some they are distinctly different. He discusses the agrarian myth in some depth and argues that the agrarian populism eventually evolves into part of the progressive movement. His book is one of the main sources that Peter Filene argues against in his article questioning the existence progressivism as a movement. Peter Filene s article presents the idea that Progressivism was not a movement at all but more of a jumbled mess of similar ideas that occurred around the same period in history. Filene seeks to prove that the progressive movement never existed. (Article 1, p. 20) He believed that there are too many discrepancies between the ideas of different historians and that if it were an actual movement that the definitions of the progressive movement/era would be consistent with each other. The only real agreement that Filene finds between the many differing opinions is the goals of the time period. He includes as the standard list of progressive objectives... constraints on monopolies, trusts and big banking interests; regulation of railroad rates; lower tariffs; the direct primary; initiative, referendum and recall; direct election of U.S. Senators; women s suffrage; child and female labor laws; pure food and drug laws and conservation. • 28. Taking a Look at Quantitative Easing During the financial crisis in 2008, the Central Banks (CB) tried to repair the economy by setting in action an open market operation (OMO). An OMO is where the CB buys short term bonds to increase the money supply. The CB s across the globe had to use a monetary policy instead of a fiscal policy, partly due to countries sovereign debt problems . The CB s were buying short term bonds until the real interest rate fell to zero. When the real interest rate fell to zero it created liquidity trap. And CBs had to look to unconventional monetary policies to create a higher output. This paper will seek to answer if unconventional monetary policies, specifically quantitative easing (QE), were effective on the economy or not. First, this paper will explain what liquidity trap and how it is relevant. Second, it will explain how QE work. Third, it will conclude if QE were effective or not. To question whether QE were effective or not it will use the American economy. This paper will illustrate liquidity trap and QE by using the models: MS MD, IS LM and AS AD. Liquidity trap is when short term interest rate on short term bonds falls close to zero or zero and OMO has no affect on the interest rate. When the interest rate are close or at zero, the demand curve is flat or very elastic, so an increase in the money supply will not have any affect on the interest rate. The demand curve for money is flat because people are anticipating a deflation or any negative shock to the economy, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. The Pros And Cons Of Gun Laws In the United States, the gun laws need to be tightened, the laws that are in place now are too loose. If the United States tighten the gun laws we could cut down on deaths. It would also cut down on people acquiring firearms illegally like through families and friends, and legally but in unsafe ways like the Charleston Loophole. If the United States passes tighter gun laws the deaths would decrease and the United States will be a bit of a nicer place. The Charleston Loophole is a big example of the reason the United States needs tighter Gun Laws. From the years 2010 through 2016, the loophole allowed about 23,000 guns to be sold to dangerous people (source 1). To buy a gun you had to go through a three business day background check. If that check could not be completed within the three business day time period, by federal law the stores were allowed to sell people the guns without the background check completed. If there was a larger time period for the background check the problem of dangerous people getting firearms, would diminish. All the background checks that have been completed have blocked more than two million dangerous people from getting firearms (also source 1). Also, most likely saved many lives which could have been taken if the people whose background checks were blocked. Another reason we should place tighter gun laws is that of how easy it is to acquire a gun. An article from the New York Times reviews a documentary called The New Radical . That documentary talked about a person named Cody Wilson, who released the first known 3D printer plans to create a gun. He named the gun The Liberator, and it is a single shot pistol made in a 3D printer. His gun plans had people questioning the boundaries of the 2nd amendment. Most other people would use the easier way like Daniel Webster said: When criminals get guns, they get them from friends, family, or from an underground market source. (source 1 article 2) Meaning that criminals and dangerous people could have a friend who is not convicted of a crime or clean buy the gun they use to kill or hurt a lot of people. This just shows how easy it is to obtain a working gun or gun substitute. The people who disagree with the statement We should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gandhi once said, Religion which takes no account of practical affairs and does not help to solve them, is no religion ( Young India, 7 5 25, 164). They are not normally judged by the hardships they had to face. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian and Smoke Signals show that these struggles are real. In his book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, and his movie, Smoke Signals, Sherman Alexie wrote about the challenges of being a Native American. Diary and Smoke Signals are similar because they both showed many family problems throughout the story lines. Also, they are similar in that the families faced difficulty with alcohol addiction. They differ because in Diary, the main character, Junior, adapts to his new school that has all white students while in Smoke Signals, Victor tries not to interact with anyone outside his race. First, Diary and Smoke Signals characters have both had some difficult times dealing with family problems from abuse to death. In Smoke Signals, Victor s dad, Arnold, physically abused Victor when he was a child. Immediately after Arnold hit Victor, Arnold said, I didn t mean to (Smoke Signals). The abuse was a large factor into why Arnold left Victor when he was a child. However in Diary, there is case of abuse involving Rowdy, Junior s friend. Rowdy s father would constantly hit him. Rowdy would walk around with bruises and scars showing and he acted like he was proud of them.
