1. Yes, the agreement on February 1, 2012 is within the scope of ASC 985 605. Example 9 in section
985 605, 55 180 is similar to the case. According to 985 605, 55 182, the revenue for PCS would be
deferred and recognized in income over the one year post contract customer support service period
assuming the lack of vendor specific objective evidence of the fair value of the delivered software
element. In reference to the example, the PCS should be accounted monthly over the 12 month period.
There is no vendor specific objective because the product and the service are not sold separately.

The contract from February 1, 2012 and May 1, 2012 should be accounted together. According to ASC
985 605 55 4, any of the following factors may indicate that a group of contracts should be accounted
for as a single multiple element arrangement: a. The contracts or agreements are negotiated or
executed within a short timeframe of each other. B. The different elements are closely interrelated or
interdependent in terms of design, technology, or function. It is evident that the second contract is an
extension of the first contract. It satisfies the first factor in which the training of the system is given
within the same timeframe of the first year of PCS. It satisfies the second condition also. Without the
first contract, the second contract would not exist. The second contract provides training based on the

Ocean Running Like A River Round A Perfectly Circular Earth
I cannot help laughing at the absurdity of all the map makers...who show Ocean running like a river
round a perfectly circular earth, with Asia and Europe of the same size...the proper notion of the size
and shape of these two continents. Persian territory extends southward to the Red Sea, as it is called;
north of them are the Medes, then the Saspires, then the Cholchians, who go as far as the northern sea,
where the mouth of the Phasis is. These four nations fill the area between the Black sea and the
Persian Gulf. Thence run westward two great continental promontories, one of which stretches from
the Phasis on the north along the Black Sea and the Hellespont to the Mediterranean at the Sigeum in
the Troad, and again, in the south, along the Mediterranean coast from the Myriandic gulf, near
Phoenicia, to Cape Triopium...Such is Asia from Persia westward; eastward, beyond Media and the
territories of the Saspires and Colchians...Asia is inhabited as far as India...Such, then, are the shape
and size of Asia Libya is part of the second branch I mentioned, for it adjoins Egypt...but is soon
broadens out, and what is known as Libya covers a very large area. In view of what I have said, I
cannot but be surprised at the method of mapping Libya, Asia, and Europe. The three continents do, in
fact differ very greatly in size Europe is as long as the other two put together, and for breadth is not, in
my opinion, even to be compared with them. As for Libya, we know it is washed on

Social Deviance
The reproductions of babies are fundamental to life and the ongoing creation of human kind. Our
whole world must face all the great and the not so great that come with the bearing of a child. This
involves mothers having the option to care and nurture their child where ever and whenever they
please, such as breast feeding in public if it were to be an option. However, overtime societies view
and perspective on breast feeding has become more of a deviant act then it was many years ago. While
looking at the deviance of breast feeding in public overtime, it can be viewed in the lenses of social
norms that are divided into 2 groups: folkways and mores. Breast feeding can also fall under the
category of labeling theory and conflict perspective can also play a role in the deviance of social
construct. William Sumner is the genius that decided to place norm into separate groups, such as,
folkway and mores in the year 1906. (The Editors) Folkway is described as the everyday norm that is
based on tradition, custom and mannerism. (Ferrante, 2015) And if a person decides not to follow
through with the folkway norm then it would possibly cause others to think that they are strange or
different from others around them, but it would not cause any type conflict. Folkway connects with
breast feeding if one believes in Christianity and the Virgin Mary because it is said that if one
witnesses the Virgin Mary breast feeding or nursing whether it is through a dream, art or real historical

Site Analysis
Significance
High performance, sustainable/green buildings have become a trend and are gradually entering the
mainstream as an important market sector in the United States and globally. Construction of a
sustainable building typically begins with the selection of a suitable site. A building s location and
orientation on a site impact not only a wide range of environmental factors but also security and
accessibility factors. The Site Assessment pilot credit for site sustainability measure promotes
understanding of the character of the site and the physical, biological, and cultural links between the
site and the surrounding landscape. Performing an inventory of the site maximizes the environmental
efficiency of design and provides an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These maps are available through US Geological Survey, but in case of a precise assessment, a
licensed surveyor in accordance with specifications tailored to the construction could be required. The
topography influences aspects of the site, such as the microclimate, distribution of plant and animal
species, water movement, and storm water management practices. The goal of this section of the
LEED rating system is to promote options for minimizing disturbance and skillfully incorporating the
existing topography into the design.
2. Hydrology LEED rates this point based on flood hazard areas, delineated wetlands, lakes, streams,
shorelines, rainwater collection and reuse opportunities, and TR 55 initial water storage capacity of the
site. Change of land use may sometimes result in a negative impact on water quality. Contamination
may occur from any of the construction side effects, such erosion and sedimentation, chemicals, or
microorganisms. Any site disturbing activities can increase the risks of flooding, erosion, and other
ecological impacts to properties. Hence all such components and risks are considered under the
hydrology part of the site assessment report.
3. Climate LEED evaluates climate under site assessment report on credentials such as solar exposure,
heat island effect potential, seasonal sun angles, prevailing winds, monthly precipitation, and
temperature ranges.

Literary And Literary Characteristics Of Romanticism In...
In the novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, there are many examples of romantic
characteristics that can be found while reading the book. The romantic period was an artistic, literary,
musical, and intellectual movement. There are both literary and political characteristics of
romanticism in the novel. Two examples of literary characteristics are the quest for the sublime and
the gothic theme of the story. Two examples of political philosophies are the question of whether or
not it was beneficial to create a new life and the division of social classes.
Mary Shelley uses the quest of the sublime as one of her main romantic characteristics throughout her
novel. She uses that to describe the characters and their emotions. Life and death appeared to me ideal
bounds, which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world. A new
species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would owe their
being to me. (Shelley p48). This demonstrates that Victor is a romantic character because he is
wanting to create a new and perfect, or sublime, life. Victor is a dreamer and wants to achieve
something that others have not.
Another example of romanticism is the gothic characteristics in the book. Some examples of gothic
characteristics are nature has the power to destroy, supernatural events, terror, and a cruel villain.
Victor s creation killed some of the loved ones of Victor. The creation is a form of nature and, because
it went on to kill others, it shows that nature can be destructive and that the creation is a cruel villain.
A supernatural events found in the book is when Victor gives life to a collection of lifeless body parts.
Emotions also play a vital role in giving this novel its gothic mood. Nothing is more painful to the
human mind, than, after the feelings have been worked up by a quick succession of events, the dead
calmness of inaction and certainty which follows, and deprives the soul both of hope and fear.
(Shelley p80). This quote explains some of the character s thoughts and feelings at the moment. All of
these components of a gothic theme show how Mary Shelley used literary romanticism in her novel.
Mary Shelley used more than just

Drama Research Paper Shakespeare s Play Othello is one of the more notable plays produced during
his playwright tenure, the play starts off with Othello who is a moor but the general of the Venetian
Army. In this particular play Shakespeare placed several different themes throughout the play but two
of the main themes were Love and Race. Othello is strong, confident man he is the head of one the
most prestigious armies in all Europe. But with all that success Othello had envious people watching
gain all this success, one of the people s name is Iago who. The straw that finally broke the camel s
back is when Othello eloped with the beautiful Desdemona daughter of Venetian senator Brabantio.
She disappoints her father by having wed the moor Othello and he disowns her for having done such a
deed. Brabantio even said to Othello that Desdemona would betray him just like she betrayed her
father.
In fact, being that Othello was from a foreign land and he was dark skinned this angered Iago even
more to the point that he concocted an elaborate story to break up Desdemona and Othello. Iago
manipulated Othello into believing that his sweet, loving was an adulteress and has lain with none
other than Michael Cassio. Othello has great love for Desdemona so when he hears this news he
becomes enraged. Through all the adversity he has faced for marrying Desdemona, he was even
accused by Brabantio of using trickery because he

Johnny Cash Biography
The Man in Black
An individual can impact society in a positive or possibly negative manner and Johnny Cash definitely
had an impactful life. He was born into a poor, nominal, farming family. Cash had a difficult
childhood and his music surely inspired many. Although, he had a great career, he, no doubt, made
many mistakes. He was certainly a leader, and, in the eyes of many, will always be.
John R. Cash was born in Kingsland, Arkansas on February 26th, 1932 when the Great Depression
was well under way. He was born into a sharecropping family who grew cotton. When he was only
three, Cash and his family moved from Kingsland to Dyess Colony, a federal program that relocated
able farmers to a cotton farming cooperative in northwestern Arkansas. ... Show more content on

Bingo History
A Brief History of Bingo
As is the case with many historical facts, the facts as we understand them today have been written by
the victors. This is especially true when we re discussing the history of the great game of Bingo,
which is littered with vague accounts and wild inconsistencies. Of course the game didn t just spring
into being one dark, cold night, as with most things, there was a seed of an idea that evolved and
changed over decades before it became the game that we all know and love today.
When it comes down to it, Bingo is, above all else, a form of gambling, which has been around in one
form or another for thousands of years as a leisure pursuit. All forms of gambling have changed over
time as cultures have moved on, but bingo is unlike any other game of chance, because it s arguably
more about the community and the sheer fun of the game than the prize. However, it wasn t always
that way.
The game has its origins in the lottery games that were popular in Europe throughout the 16th century,
which were based on the drawing of random numbers (sound familiar?) and basic lucky. To get from
there to where we are today was a gradual process.
Where was Bingo First Played?

By the late 1930 s, the game had become popular enough that some had figured out how to fix the
game by calling out incorrect numbers. To rectify this, players were asked to come up and draw the
balls, but this obviously made the game drag, so callers began coming up with humorous calls in order
to cover the gap between calls and make the game seem more fun. As for the calls themselves, many
of them have military names, and that s because the game was played often (as previously mentioned)
by the British military in the 1930 s and

http://doi.org/10.1007/s10551 011 1058 8 The idea of sweatshop has grown increasingly has been
hotly contested over the past several years. At first, the author reviews the moral and economic
foundations, then argues that the sweatshops are flawed, which are the violation of labor right. The
author addresses the question of sweatshops are justified in violating local labor laws. Then the author
pointed out that the global market competitions are the fundamental reason for growing sweatshops.
Finally, the author provides some recent literature, which applies to the ban exploitation of sweatshop
labor and offers advice on modifying the behavior of sweatshops. In this article, the framework is very
clear. The author mainly expounds the sweatshops are flawed and against the sweatshop labor. The
author not only used data to support their thesis, but also they used others opinions to assess the issue
and gave the recommendations. The evidence is believable because the authors of this article are the

Followership is as Important as Leadership
A leader alone cannot accomplish a goal or vision by oneself. There is a built in assumption in our
society that everybody should strive to be a leader. That s where the fame and fortune are with the
leaders. You can get a PhD in organizational leadership, but you can t even get a bachelor s in
followership. (Mercer) Why should an organization focus on followership as much as leadership?
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines followership as the capacity or willingness to follow a leader
. Over the last several years, there s been a huge interest in leadership. However, former HP Executive
Vice President, Vyomesh Joshi, shared that the key to being a great leader is not about leadership but

However, these types of followers are the ones to jump ship thinking that there is no room to climb
higher. The disengaged followers doesn t see the value in his or her work showing low levels of
commitment. The disgruntled demonstrates low levels of job satisfaction and is considered to be less
productive. To some degree, they feel a sense of anger usually resulting from having some negative
interaction with the organization. Adair believes that most employees function as with disciples or
doers. They are the most satisfied and productive employees while they operate under the quadrant
that suits them the best. However, if they get stressed out they could get pushed into the disengaged
and disgruntled quadrants. To help change back, followers will have to work with their leader and
change their attitudes.
The difference between followers and leaders is that followers need leaders to help them follow what
leaders themselves are following. This relationship takes the form of a shared response ability to a
shared calling. Both find each other in a true fellowship to create the world responsibly. James
Maroosis
A person who exemplifies followership is Jimmy Collins, famous author of Creative Followership: In
the Shadow of Greatness . He believes that leadership is important, but does not overlook the rule of
followership. He believes that followership engaging in worthwhile activities while following the lead
of others.

There is a moderate threat of new entrants for Neiman Marcus, and since the luxury retail industry is
so densely populated it is difficult for new brands to stand out unless they are offering something that
differentiates them from all the other brands. For company of Neiman Marcus size, it is hard for new

difficult for new entrants to come into the market if they don t already have the established

The Social Impact Of A Protest At Kent State Shootings
Another event that eroded support in the war and US Government occured during a protest at Kent
State University. During a protest on May 4, 1970, twenty nine National Guardsmen gathered at the
university to oversee a Vietnam War protest. In the midst of the protest, the National Guardsmen fired
into the crowd of protesters killing four people in the process (Gordon Page 35). This event sparked an
enormous uprising from the public and the event triggered a nationwide student strike that forced
hundreds of colleges and universities to close (Lewis). This strike had a huge social impact and
through the constant strikes and protests that followed the shootings caused the US Government to
lose the trust, respect, and support of many American citizens (Gordon Page 35). The Kent State
shootings were also able to reach the international stage through the abundance of news broadcasts
and songs following the shooting. Ohio, a famous song by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, focuses
heavily on the Vietnam War and the Kent State shootings with lyrics stating, Tin soldiers and Nixon
coming. We re finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming. Four dead in Ohio (Crosby,
Stills, Nash, and Young) as a direct reference to the Kent State tragedy. A tin soldier is a toy soldier,
mindlessly controlled by its owner (Songfacts Staff). Neil Young was implying with these lyrics that
the National Guard was mindlessly following orders from Nixon. This song became wildly popular

Millerite Movement in the Second Great Awakening of...
The Millerite Movement happened in the context of this nation s Second Great Awakening: a religious
revival that carried the country into reform movements. The Second Great Awakening had its start in
Connecticut in the 1790s and grew to its height in the 1830s to 1840s.[1] During this time in the
United States history, churches experienced a more complete freedom from governmental control
which opened the doors of opportunity to a great spiritual awakening in the American people.[2] This
awakening focused on areas of both religious and social issues of that era which were important to the
religious movements and the nation as a whole. The Second Great Awakening was driven by these
issues which included an increase in the evils ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Millerite Movement is best known for its prediction of Christ s coming to be 1843 and later
revised to October 22, 1844. The very core of this movement was the anticipation for the soon coming
of Christ. They were not the only group to look forward to this event but it became of paramount
interest to the Millerites, as they had a set date for Christ s second return.[8] As the Second Great
Awakening grew more mindful of Christ s second coming, so did the Millerite Movement. The story
of William Miller is one which climaxes in his desire to share about Christ s immediate return and the
Great Disappointment. The result is the Adventist church we have today. The Seventh day Adventist
Church today still reflects the roots it had in the Second Great Awakening. The founding principles
that the Millerites discovered as they broke away from the mainstream Christianity of their time, are
still a part of what we believe today. The Adventist faith holds that anyone who comes to Christ is a
new creation and can find salvation.[9] There is no predestination and once saved does not assure that
we are always saved. But no matter what, anyone can come to God for His gift of salvation.[10] Just
like the second coming of Christ was an important part of the Second Great Awakening and a key
foundation of the Millerite Movement, Adventists have in their name the hope of His

This research is important to provide a better understanding for the enhancement of acetaminophen

From the overall observations, the conclusions that can be made are:
i. All three techniques used can produce the desired crystals of acetaminophen, thiourea, and ratios of

The Seven Years War And Florida s Independence
Florida
Ponce de Leon, who led the first European voyage to Florida in 1513, claimed Florida as Spain s
territory but the French were also interested in the territory, which led them to build Fort Caroline in
1564. Because Spain wanted to show France that they owned the territory, they destroyed Fort
Caroline in 1565 while building their own: St. Augustine. Not only were the French interested but
England as well. This resulted to the Seven Years War and the French and Indian Wars. In 1763, under
the Treaty of Paris, England gained Florida but soon lost it to Spain in 1783 after they recognized
Florida s independence. When the U.S. made the Louisiana Purchase from France, Florida s state was

They gave up farming corporations when they discovered that a good portion of California s
farmlands were owned by large farms with various different crops and eventually they looked to do
different work. ( The Dust Bowl 2) Many of the families that traveled from Oklahoma to California
during the 1930s were classified as Okies . Even though only one fifth of the migrants were from
Oklahoma. However, Klein tells us that an Okie was a blanket term used to describe all agricultural
migrants, no matter their home states. The migrants were welcomed with hostility. For example, a sign
was hung outside of a diner that read: Okies not allowed inside.

My Calling In My Life
Finding our true calling in life isn t always easy. To me a calling is something that you find joy in and
are passionate about. As followers of Christ we are told to trust God and follow what He calls us to do.
I believe that God directs us down different paths throughout our lives that lead us to a calling rather
than just handing it to us. This can be scary as we never know His exact plan. As soon as we get
comfortable in one area of our life and feel as if we have found our calling God throws us a curveball.
I don t believe that we just have one calling. Every aspect of our life has a piece of our overall calling.
I believe that my overall calling is caring for others. As I will explain I feel that everything I do
somehow relates back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just being able to be there for someone in a time of need brings me great joy. Being able to build
strong relationships helps not only others, but myself as well. I like having people in my life that I can
count on to be there when I need them.
As far as my faith, I feel I am called to lead others to God by example. As a Christian I feel a
relationship with God is the most important relationship one can have. There are many different ways
to express Christianity and bring people into a relationship with God. One thing I talked about in my
journals is that while going to church is important, I don t think it s the most important part of my
faith. To me I feel the most comfortable expressing my faith by leading by example. I am not very
good at talking about my faith, so I try living my life in a way that expresses my Christianity through
actions rather than words. In my journals, I have discussed several different ways I live out my faith
such as; building positive relationships, volunteering, using the talents God gave me, and being there
for others.
The journal prompts about our beliefs really got me think about what I believe about finances.
Through talking about my beliefs, I discovered it is important to me to give back to others when I am
able. One way that I can do this is by creating a budget that sets aside money each month to donate to
a cause. I think it is important we use the resources that God gave us to help all his people.
I feel that my overall

Frito Lay Essay
Specifications As a summer engineering intern at Frito Lay, the importance of maintaining standards
and quality on all projects has been reinforced to me daily. Considering that Frito Lay is an
organization with worldwide product distribution, protecting both the brand and the consumer is
understandably important. To ensure product consistency, the use of specifications is leveraged
throughout the company to detail operating consistency, safety protocol, and product quality
standards. With the pressure placed on engineers to guarantee that implemented solutions are safe and
will perform as expected, there is a tendency to overuse specifications. In their attempts to cover all

specification document calls out specific quality and safety design requirements for vendors to follow.
Compliance to the National Electrical code to insure proper electrical safety protocol is followed is the
overriding safety specification throughout the GES specification document. On the quality front,
design specifications detail maximum system drop point acceptance to minimize product (Potato
Chips tend to break if not handled gently) breakage. Frito Lay s commitment to excellent and the
culture for detail that has evolved as a result help ensure that only high quality products that are safe
both to produce and to consume make it to market. To take a less structured approach would come
with high risk. As the upside of doing things correctly far outweighs the downside related to the risk of
failure, I recommend that Frito Lay continue to leverage the same expectation for detail on all future
projects. In order to assist new employees who may join existing project teams, I would also
recommend that the company provide training on how to interpret and write

The Guest Character Analysis
Albert Campus is an award winning author who has received a Nobel Peace Prize for his literature. In
1957 he wrote, L Hôte a word in the french vocabulary that has a double meaning translating to guest
and host. Although, in English it only translates to the guest. This is the first ambiguous clue in the
story that points out Campus s beliefs, and gives readers a point of observation. The Guest is a short
story about an Algerian Born Frenchman with the occupation of teaching. He lives in a desolate that is
isolated and rarely has visitors. Whereas, one day a corsican named Balducci comes there on
horseback because he was given government orders to deliver an Arab criminal. Balducci then gave
Daru the news that the government has also ordered Daru that he must then deliver the Arab to jail.
With this news Daru then struggles to decide whether he should bring the Arab to jail or set him free.
It is an internal struggle that Daru and the Arab have to face between choosing right from wrong and
understanding if the two meanings matter. Campuses ambiguous writing distinguishes that by not
taking total responsibility of a choice, that itself is a choice. Daru and the Arab both have conflicting
choices that they face throughout the entire short story suggests that whether one may want to or not
there are choices underlyingly people make.
Daru is initially conflicted between having a strong opinion about following the code of law, and the
wrongdoing of the crime the Arab has

War Is No Poem Analysis
When human beings live together, conflict is inevitable. War is not. Oodles of poems explore different
aspects of the violent theme of conflict. Carol Ann Duffy s War Photographer, Chinua Achebe s A
Mother in a Refugee Camp and Louis MacNeice s Prayer Before Birth portray conflict through the
disasters of warfare. In an akin way, the poem Disabled by Wilfred Owen displays a youngster whose
limbs were lost in the battlefield and is now waiting for death. Piano by D. H. Lawrence is another
poem which depicts a man s reminiscence of his mother, who might ve died due to some form of
conflict. Similar to A Mother In A Refugee Camp is W. H. Auden s Refugee Blues, both successfully
displaying the arduous lives of refugees. Therefore, I will be analyzing the theme of conflict as well as
comparing the above mentioned poems in this essay. Firstly, what is conflict? Conflict is a form of
disagreement or argument, usually a protracted one. Most of the times, conflict between people leads
to a prolonged dispute, violence and even a clash: known as a war. War is generally the main outcome
of conflict; and is quite a disastrous, disgusting and dreadful one. The catastrophic effects of war on
people s lives are evident in the poems that I am comparing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is clearly shown in the first line: In his darkroom he is finally alone. The quote also informs the
audience that the poet has returned there to develop photographs after a long, horrifying trip abroad.
The darkroom serves as the metaphor for the photographer s depression. It might also signify the way
humans purposely hide from unpleasant truths. Whereas A Mother In A Refugee Camp is, quite
straightforwardly, set in a refugee camp. However, the setting of Prayer Before Birth is rather different
as there is no set place. The poem is a plea from an unborn child to a divine power, so the setting
might be in the womb of the foetus

Macromolecules Of Carbohydrates
Background and Carbohydrates
How are macromolecule polymers assembled from monomers? How are they broken down?
To assemble a macromolecule polymer from monomers, the monomers must bond. This is a process
known as a dehydration reaction, in which a water molecule is lost to form the bond. When this
process occurs, each of the two bonded monomers provides part of the water molecule that was lost in
the dehydration reaction: one contributes a hydroxyl group and the other a hydrogen. Dehydration
reaction can take place over and over again, losing a water molecule every time, and forming a chain
of monomers: a macromolecule. These macromolecules are disassembled by hydrolysis. This process
is the inverse of a dehydration reaction: the covalent bond between the monomers is broken when
water is added, a hydrogen attaching to one monomer and a hydroxyl group attaching to the other.
How can you tell a biological molecule is a carbohydrate?
Carbohydrates are sugars that contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen in a 1:2:1 ratio. They can be used
for storage, structure, and energy. An example is glucose, with chemical formula C6H12O6.
Explain the relationship between monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides.
All three are carbohydrates. Monosaccharides are the simplest carbohydrates and are classified as
simple sugars with molecular formulas that are multiples of CH2O. Disaccharides are two
monosaccharides bonded by a glycosidic linkage (a covalent bond formed by dehydration

twelve characteristics does not mean that there is a perfect early childhood teacher somewhere in the
world, but it means that there could be a change by putting in practice the twelve characteristics.

Greek and Roman Architecture Essay example
Greek and Roman Architecture
Greek and Roman architecture is truly amazing. They each had great ideas, and fabulous productions.
It is said that the Pantheon is to Italy what the Parthenon is to Greece. Both are tremendous
monuments that reek of culture and history. Each had a purpose which was displayed by the design
and construction of each. There are such great meanings behind each of these architecural structures.
The Romans and the Greeks alike worshipped and dedicated their structures and designs to the Gods
and Goddess they believed in.

From the outside of the Pantheon the dome seems shallow and insignificant, said to be purposely done
not to ruin the suprise of the interior (Gilbert 379). It is only when viewing the inside that one can
truly appreciate the amazing architectural design and workmanship of this building. Another
remarkable attribute of this temple to the gods is that it is still in use today with much of the original
materials intact. The columns, the marble paneled walls, the floor, and the two enormous bronze doors
are all originals, making the Pantheon the best preserved surviving Roman structure. The Panthenon

Dedicated to the goddess Athena, the warrior maiden, the Parthenon is a Doric style temple (Gilbert
368). It took about 15 years to complete this strucutre (Gilbert 370). A lot like the Roman Pantheon, it
had many columns surrounding the interior and exterior of this structure. This place was decorated
with many sculptures along the inner roof top. It was painted in vivid colors, such as red and blue
(Gilbert 370). Refered to as the cella its inner chamber housed the monumental statue of the Goddess
Athena. Pheidias hisself created this thirty foot high statue of Athena Parthenos, consisting of a frame
made of wood, metal, clay, and plaster.

The Pros And Cons Of Food Consumption
Generally, price is a tactful factor that influences the food choice of an individual (Furst et al. 1996).
Besides, it is also defined as a money payment process for a certain product where value gained is
associated with the perceived profit of getting a product (Kotler 2008). As stated by (Kavitha, Souji
Prabhu 2011), level of income of an individual will decide and restrict one s food choice. The personal
income of an individual determines purchasing power of individual that the price of the product is
closely associated with.
Furthermore, traditional foods sold in Kopi tiams (traditional coffee shops) in Penang are associated
with cheap but tasty (Helland 2008). Hence, as the main target of this study is the millennials, it has
been found out that majority of them are spending a lot on pricey beverages and to restaurants (Tulp
2017).

The novel s incorporation of both direct and indirect characterization allows O Brien to portray
characters in many ways, which gives the reader a more well rounded and in depth depiction of them.
Throughout the novel, O Brien chooses the type of characterization to use depending on which fits the
purpose of the characterization better. One instance of O Brien s deliberate choice in characterization
method is in his depiction of Mary Ann Belle. Before her transition, Mary Ann is primarily depicted
using direct characterization: Though she was young, Rat said, Mary Anne Bell was no timid child.
She was curious about things (91). At first, O Brien chooses to use direct characterization to describe
Mary Anne since he wants to give the reader

Charlie Gordon, had a very low intelligence quotient (IQ) of 68. Charlie had always wanted to be
smart like those around him. Fortunately, he was given the opportunity for this. He was chosen to be

Character Analysis Of The Snow In Trapped, By Michael...
It was one of those bull s eyes in history, one of those points where everything comes together, where,
if you were at that place at that time, you were part of something big. It meant that we weren t going
to get picked up, not on that day and maybe not ever (Northrop 1). The mood created by Northrop in
Trapped is displayed to the readers as negative vibe. Being trapped at a school in a blizzard is
obviously not a good thing. So, as a visual representation to the teenagers situation, the snow is
described negatively too. In the book Trapped, Michael Northrop uses the snow to symbolize dreadful
times and loneliness. Throughout the text, Michael mentions the snow. Considering the book s about a
blizzard, that d be normal, right? However, in my view, the snow symbolizes something, like dreadful
times. Scattered around, the context surrounding the snow can be interpreted as how you feel during
those times. For example, later in the book, when the students realize just how bad it is, they explain it
as, There was no higher ground, no place left for us to go (Northrop 158). Here, a relation to people
feeling as if there s nowhere else to go, so they re trapped in the horrible event occurring can be made.
Results tend to be mourning over those poor times in people s lives. Similarly, Michael connects that
to how we view bad situations. Early on in the book, description of the snow is showed as it being
small flakes , like grains of sugar... the flakes had fattened up and

How Do Masks Affect The Use Of Mask
In this essay, I will argue that the use of masks is vital in creating a believable and consistent character
for performance. The techniques I have used in masks not only help define a character but have
improved my improvisation skills.
Jacques Lecoq wanted to explore the hidden gestures, emotions and underlying states of a character,
which we express through mimages [2002: P.109]. I incorporated both the mimages and Seven States
of Tension to help me to determine how my mask; Draco, would react in different situations.
As John Martin states, every part says something [2004: p.68]. This is something I tried to captivate in
my development of Draco. However, before I could look at how Draco would react with masks, I
needed to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Copying the arched eyebrow on the mask I found a smarmy, nasally voice, I enjoyed doing this as it
helped me to achieve the temperament of Draco; Choleric. I had to make sure I did not differentiate
from his features. As Rudlin states: You a prisoner of the mask [1994: P.35], thus meaning I was
bound by Draco s expressions.
Clocking was essential for Draco as he needed to constantly hold the audience s attention. It also
helped to pinpoint key moments; looking at the dirty rag, clock the audience, placing the rag
elsewhere. This moment also tied in with the characteristics of the Arlecchino.
Toby Wilsher states that countermask is one of the simplest but most effective tools [2007: p.30]. As
the countermask would help me achieve any emotion despite Draco s features I could flip him from
trickster to turmoil. It also affected my centre, taking me from a centre of my chest to my knees centre,
bringing Draco to the floor as his ever present sneer faded into a frown and a wail.
All the techniques I used to develop Draco helped me in creating a character. Each exercise helped me
to pin point Draco further and explore him in ways that non mask theatre would not. I prefer to act
with a mask however, it is easy to slip out of character, therefore the face of the mask must always be
pulled. I found if my facial expression slipped, the entire character began to

Example 9 in section 985 605, 55 180 is similar to the case. According to 985 605, 55 182, the revenue for PCS would be deferred and recognized in income over the one year post contract customer support service period assuming the lack of vendor specific objective evidence of the fair value of the delivered software element. In reference to the example, the PCS should be accounted monthly over the 12 month period. There is no vendor specific objective because the product and the service are not sold separately. 2. The contracts or agreements are negotiated or executed within a short timeframe of each other. B. The different elements are closely interrelated or interdependent in terms of design, technology, or function. It is evident that the second contract is an extension of the first contract. • 3. Ocean Running Like A River Round A Perfectly Circular Earth I cannot help laughing at the absurdity of all the map makers...who show Ocean running like a river round a perfectly circular earth, with Asia and Europe of the same size...the proper notion of the size and shape of these two continents. Persian territory extends southward to the Red Sea, as it is called; north of them are the Medes, then the Saspires, then the Cholchians, who go as far as the northern sea, where the mouth of the Phasis is. These four nations fill the area between the Black sea and the Persian Gulf. Thence run westward two great continental promontories, one of which stretches from the Phasis on the north along the Black Sea and the Hellespont to the Mediterranean at the Sigeum in the Troad, and again, in the south, along the Mediterranean coast from the Myriandic gulf, near Phoenicia, to Cape Triopium...Such is Asia from Persia westward; eastward, beyond Media and the territories of the Saspires and Colchians...Asia is inhabited as far as India...Such, then, are the shape and size of Asia Libya is part of the second branch I mentioned, for it adjoins Egypt...but is soon broadens out, and what is known as Libya covers a very large area. In view of what I have said, I cannot but be surprised at the method of mapping Libya, Asia, and Europe. The three continents do, in fact differ very greatly in size Europe is as long as the other two put together, and for breadth is not, in my opinion, even to be compared with them. As for Libya, we know it is washed on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Social Deviance The reproductions of babies are fundamental to life and the ongoing creation of human kind. Our whole world must face all the great and the not so great that come with the bearing of a child. This involves mothers having the option to care and nurture their child where ever and whenever they please, such as breast feeding in public if it were to be an option. However, overtime societies view and perspective on breast feeding has become more of a deviant act then it was many years ago. While looking at the deviance of breast feeding in public overtime, it can be viewed in the lenses of social norms that are divided into 2 groups: folkways and mores. Breast feeding can also fall under the category of labeling theory and conflict perspective can also play a role in the deviance of social construct. William Sumner is the genius that decided to place norm into separate groups, such as, folkway and mores in the year 1906. (The Editors) Folkway is described as the everyday norm that is based on tradition, custom and mannerism. (Ferrante, 2015) And if a person decides not to follow through with the folkway norm then it would possibly cause others to think that they are strange or different from others around them, but it would not cause any type conflict. Folkway connects with breast feeding if one believes in Christianity and the Virgin Mary because it is said that if one witnesses the Virgin Mary breast feeding or nursing whether it is through a dream, art or real historical ... Site Analysis Significance High performance, sustainable/green buildings have become a trend and are gradually entering the mainstream as an important market sector in the United States and globally. Construction of a sustainable building typically begins with the selection of a suitable site. These maps are available through US Geological Survey, but in case of a precise assessment, a licensed surveyor in accordance with specifications tailored to the construction could be required. The topography influences aspects of the site, such as the microclimate, distribution of plant and animal species, water movement, and storm water management practices. The goal of this section of the LEED rating system is to promote options for minimizing disturbance and skillfully incorporating the existing topography into the design. 2. Hydrology LEED rates this point based on flood hazard areas, delineated wetlands, lakes, streams, shorelines, rainwater collection and reuse opportunities, and TR 55 initial water storage capacity of the site. • 6. Literary And Literary Characteristics Of Romanticism In... In the novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, there are many examples of romantic characteristics that can be found while reading the book. The romantic period was an artistic, literary, musical, and intellectual movement. There are both literary and political characteristics of romanticism in the novel. Two examples of literary characteristics are the quest for the sublime and the gothic theme of the story. Two examples of political philosophies are the question of whether or not it was beneficial to create a new life and the division of social classes. Mary Shelley uses the quest of the sublime as one of her main romantic characteristics throughout her novel. She uses that to describe the characters and their emotions. Life and death appeared to me ideal bounds, which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world. A new species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would owe their being to me. (Shelley p48). This demonstrates that Victor is a romantic character because he is wanting to create a new and perfect, or sublime, life. Victor is a dreamer and wants to achieve something that others have not. Another example of romanticism is the gothic characteristics in the book. Some examples of gothic characteristics are nature has the power to destroy, supernatural events, terror, and a cruel villain. Victor s creation killed some of the loved ones of Victor. The creation is a form of nature and, because it went on to kill others, it shows that nature can be destructive and that the creation is a cruel villain. A supernatural events found in the book is when Victor gives life to a collection of lifeless body parts. Emotions also play a vital role in giving this novel its gothic mood. Nothing is more painful to the human mind, than, after the feelings have been worked up by a quick succession of events, the dead calmness of inaction and certainty which follows, and deprives the soul both of hope and fear. (Shelley p80). This quote explains some of the character s thoughts and feelings at the moment. All of these components of a gothic theme show how Mary Shelley used literary romanticism in her novel. • 9. Bingo History A Brief History of Bingo As is the case with many historical facts, the facts as we understand them today have been written by the victors. This is especially true when we re discussing the history of the great game of Bingo, which is littered with vague accounts and wild inconsistencies. Of course the game didn t just spring into being one dark, cold night, as with most things, there was a seed of an idea that evolved and changed over decades before it became the game that we all know and love today. When it comes down to it, Bingo is, above all else, a form of gambling, which has been around in one form or another for thousands of years as a leisure pursuit. All forms of gambling have changed over time as cultures have moved on, but bingo is unlike any other game of chance, because it s arguably more about the community and the sheer fun of the game than the prize. However, it wasn t always that way. The game has its origins in the lottery games that were popular in Europe throughout the 16th century, which were based on the drawing of random numbers (sound familiar?) and basic lucky. To get from there to where we are today was a gradual process. Where was Bingo First Played? Whilst games like it evolved from similar games played in Europe in the ... The Merriam Webster dictionary defines followership as the capacity or willingness to follow a leader . Over the last several years, there s been a huge interest in leadership. The difference between followers and leaders is that followers need leaders to help them follow what leaders themselves are following. • 14. The Social Impact Of A Protest At Kent State Shootings Another event that eroded support in the war and US Government occured during a protest at Kent State University. During a protest on May 4, 1970, twenty nine National Guardsmen gathered at the university to oversee a Vietnam War protest. In the midst of the protest, the National Guardsmen fired into the crowd of protesters killing four people in the process (Gordon Page 35). This event sparked an enormous uprising from the public and the event triggered a nationwide student strike that forced hundreds of colleges and universities to close (Lewis). This strike had a huge social impact and through the constant strikes and protests that followed the shootings caused the US Government to lose the trust, respect, and support of many American citizens (Gordon Page 35). The Kent State shootings were also able to reach the international stage through the abundance of news broadcasts and songs following the shooting. Ohio, a famous song by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, focuses heavily on the Vietnam War and the Kent State shootings with lyrics stating, Tin soldiers and Nixon coming. We re finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming. Four dead in Ohio (Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young) as a direct reference to the Kent State tragedy. The Millerite Movement is best known for its prediction of Christ s coming to be 1843 and later revised to October 22, 1844. The very core of this movement was the anticipation for the soon coming of Christ. They were not the only group to look forward to this event but it became of paramount interest to the Millerites, as they had a set date for Christ s second return.[8] As the Second Great Awakening grew more mindful of Christ s second coming, so did the Millerite Movement. The story of William Miller is one which climaxes in his desire to share about Christ s immediate return and the Great Disappointment. The result is the Adventist church we have today. The Seventh day Adventist Church today still reflects the roots it had in the Second Great Awakening. The founding principles that the Millerites discovered as they broke away from the mainstream Christianity of their time, are still a part of what we believe today. The Adventist faith holds that anyone who comes to Christ is a new creation and can find salvation.[9] There is no predestination and once saved does not assure that we are always saved. But no matter what, anyone can come to God for His gift of salvation.[10] Just like the second coming of Christ was an important part of the Second Great Awakening and a key foundation of the Millerite Movement, Adventists have in their name the hope of His ... • 25. War Is No Poem Analysis When human beings live together, conflict is inevitable. War is not. Oodles of poems explore different aspects of the violent theme of conflict. Carol Ann Duffy s War Photographer, Chinua Achebe s A Mother in a Refugee Camp and Louis MacNeice s Prayer Before Birth portray conflict through the disasters of warfare. In an akin way, the poem Disabled by Wilfred Owen displays a youngster whose limbs were lost in the battlefield and is now waiting for death. Piano by D. H. Lawrence is another poem which depicts a man s reminiscence of his mother, who might ve died due to some form of conflict. Similar to A Mother In A Refugee Camp is W. H. Auden s Refugee Blues, both successfully displaying the arduous lives of refugees. Therefore, I will be analyzing the theme of conflict as well as comparing the above mentioned poems in this essay. Firstly, what is conflict? Conflict is a form of disagreement or argument, usually a protracted one. Most of the times, conflict between people leads to a prolonged dispute, violence and even a clash: known as a war. War is generally the main outcome of conflict; and is quite a disastrous, disgusting and dreadful one. Whereas A Mother In A Refugee Camp is, quite straightforwardly, set in a refugee camp. However, the setting of Prayer Before Birth is rather different as there is no set place. • 26. Macromolecules Of Carbohydrates Background and Carbohydrates How are macromolecule polymers assembled from monomers? How are they broken down? To assemble a macromolecule polymer from monomers, the monomers must bond. This is a process known as a dehydration reaction, in which a water molecule is lost to form the bond. When this process occurs, each of the two bonded monomers provides part of the water molecule that was lost in the dehydration reaction: one contributes a hydroxyl group and the other a hydrogen. Dehydration reaction can take place over and over again, losing a water molecule every time, and forming a chain of monomers: a macromolecule. These macromolecules are disassembled by hydrolysis. This process is the inverse of a dehydration reaction: the covalent bond between the monomers is broken when water is added, a hydrogen attaching to one monomer and a hydroxyl group attaching to the other. How can you tell a biological molecule is a carbohydrate? Carbohydrates are sugars that contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen in a 1:2:1 ratio. They can be used for storage, structure, and energy. An example is glucose, with chemical formula C6H12O6. Explain the relationship between monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides. All three are carbohydrates. • 35. Character Analysis Of The Snow In Trapped, By Michael... It was one of those bull s eyes in history, one of those points where everything comes together, where, if you were at that place at that time, you were part of something big. It meant that we weren t going to get picked up, not on that day and maybe not ever (Northrop 1). The mood created by Northrop in Trapped is displayed to the readers as negative vibe. Being trapped at a school in a blizzard is obviously not a good thing. So, as a visual representation to the teenagers situation, the snow is described negatively too. In the book Trapped, Michael Northrop uses the snow to symbolize dreadful times and loneliness. Throughout the text, Michael mentions the snow. Considering the book s about a blizzard, that d be normal, right? However, in my view, the snow symbolizes something, like dreadful times. Scattered around, the context surrounding the snow can be interpreted as how you feel during those times. For example, later in the book, when the students realize just how bad it is, they explain it as, There was no higher ground, no place left for us to go (Northrop 158). Here, a relation to people feeling as if there s nowhere else to go, so they re trapped in the horrible event occurring can be made. Results tend to be mourning over those poor times in people s lives. Similarly, Michael connects that to how we view bad situations. • 36. How Do Masks Affect The Use Of Mask In this essay, I will argue that the use of masks is vital in creating a believable and consistent character for performance. The techniques I have used in masks not only help define a character but have improved my improvisation skills. Jacques Lecoq wanted to explore the hidden gestures, emotions and underlying states of a character, which we express through mimages [2002: P.109]. I incorporated both the mimages and Seven States of Tension to help me to determine how my mask; Draco, would react in different situations. As John Martin states, every part says something [2004: p.68]. This is something I tried to captivate in my development of Draco. However, before I could look at how Draco would react with masks, I needed to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Copying the arched eyebrow on the mask I found a smarmy, nasally voice, I enjoyed doing this as it helped me to achieve the temperament of Draco; Choleric. I had to make sure I did not differentiate from his features. As Rudlin states: You a prisoner of the mask [1994: P.35], thus meaning I was bound by Draco s expressions. Clocking was essential for Draco as he needed to constantly hold the audience s attention. It also helped to pinpoint key moments; looking at the dirty rag, clock the audience, placing the rag elsewhere. This moment also tied in with the characteristics of the Arlecchino. Toby Wilsher states that countermask is one of the simplest but most effective tools [2007: p.30]. As the countermask would help me achieve any emotion despite Draco s features I could flip him from trickster to turmoil. It also affected my centre, taking me from a centre of my chest to my knees centre, bringing Draco to the floor as his ever present sneer faded into a frown and a wail. All the techniques I used to develop Draco helped me in creating a character. Each exercise helped me to pin point Draco further and explore him in ways that non mask theatre would not. I prefer to act with a mask however, it is easy to slip out of character, therefore the face of the mask must always be pulled.
