Electronic Commerce ( E Commerce )
The development of new technological innovations, such as the Internet, has brought on changes for
the market. The Internet offers a world wide network, which connects millions of individuals and
businesses and creates a global marketplace with huge business opportunities (E business, eEurope,
n.d). More and more companies have discovered the advantage of using the Internet as a
communication tool to reach consumers at any place and at any time. This also enables consumers to
search and gather information about products and services online. The word e commerce refers to all
transactions online. Electronic commerce (e commerce) is the area in which we are to do our research
and throughout this dissertation we will discuss consumer trust in ... Show more content on

Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and
privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their
identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud
(Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they
trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of
physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are
used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or
not applicable in an online environment (Grabner Kräuter Kaluscha, 2003). Many consumers
appreciate the real shopping experience of touching things and trying items on. So, in order to
understand why people do or do not engage in e commerce activities, it is important to study online
trust (Cazier et al., 2006).
Trust is an essential tool for a transaction to take place, both in an online and offline environment. In e
commerce, the Internet vendors as well as their websites can be trust building sources in themselves.
So, it is important for companies to learn how to manage consumers trust in e commerce. Although,
building consumer trust on the Internet is a challenge for online vendors. For this

Salomon v A Salomon Co Ltd [1897] AC 22 is a landmark1 UK company law case. The effect of the
Lords unanimous 2 ruling was to uphold 3firmly the doctrine4 of corporate personality, as set out in
the Companies Act 1862, so that creditors of an insolvent company could not sue the company s
shareholders to pay up outstanding debts. Facts[edit] MrAron Salomon made leather boots and shoes

The company in this case has been regarded by Vaughan Williams J. as the agent of Aron Salomon. I
should rather liken the company to a trustee for him a trustee improperly 20 brought into existence by
him to enable him to do what the statute prohibits. It is manifest 21 that the other members of the
company have practically no interest in it, and their names have merely been used by Mr.Aron
Salomon to enable him to form a company, and to use its name in order to screen himself from
liability. This view of the case is quite consistent with In re George Newman Co.[4] In a strict legal
sense the business may have to be regarded as the business of the company; but if any jury were
asked, Whose business was it? they would say Aron Salomon s, and they would be right, if they meant
that the beneficial interest in the business was his. I do not go so far as to say that the creditors of the
company could sue him. In my opinion, they can only reach him through the company. Moreover,
Mr.Aron Salomon s liability to indemnify the company in this case is, in my view, the legal
consequence of the formation of the company in order to attain a result not permitted by law. The
liability does not arise simply from the fact that he holds nearly all the shares in the company. A man
may do that and yet be under no such liability as Mr.Aron Salomon has come under. His liability rests
on the purpose for which he formed the company, on the way he formed it, and on

Divorce Impact On Divorce
The Family Law Act 1975 (cth) defines divorce as the termination of a marriage otherwise than by the
death of a party to the marriage. The concept of divorce and marriage has dramatically altered as the
values and beliefs of society has changed, starting with the abolishment of the fault divorce system in
1975, to the creation of online divorce kits by the Federal Magistrates Courts in 2004. While prior to
the Family Law Act 1975 (cth), divorce could be considered too difficult to attain, today it is
considered too easy to divorce. However, the process of marriage is seen as overcomplicated,
requiring multiple prerequisites to be considered legal. When compared to the relatively difficult
process of marriage, divorce can be considered too easy to attain, as a result impacting the lives of
unhappily married couples and their families throughout Australia.
The definition of marriage, as stated in the Marriage Act 1961 (cth), specifies that for a couple to
attain marriage, there needs to be a union
1. Of a man and a woman
2. That excludes all others
3. That is voluntarily entered into
4. For life
There are also a number of requirements for before, during and after the ceremony. It must be proven
that the betrothed couple are not ancestors or descendants and that, unless the situation is specifically
reviewed by the court, neither party is under the age of 18. On the day of the marriage, three
certificates must be signed by the couple, two witnesses and an authorised

The Objectives Of The Mercury Project
The objectives of the Mercury Project, as stated at the time of project go ahead, were as follows:
Place a manned spacecraft in orbital flight around the earth.
Investigate man s performance capabilities and his ability to function in the environment of space.
Recover the man and the spacecraft safely. After the objectives were established for the project, a
number of guidelines were established to insure that the most expedient and safest approach for
attainment of the objectives was followed. The basic guidelines that were established are as follows:
Existing technology and off the shelf equipment should be used wherever practical.
The simplest and most reliable approach to system design would be followed.

Items (2) and (5) have been made apparent by the manner in which the astronaut has manually
controlled the attitude of the spacecraft during orbital maneuvers, retrofire, and reentry, and by the
recovery of the spacecraft and astronauts after each flight by recovery forces which included aircraft
carriers and destroyers. Basically, the equipment used in the spacecraft was derived from off the shelf
equipment or through the direct application of existing technology, although some notable exceptions
were made in order to improve reliability and flight safety. These exceptions include:
An automatic blood pressure measuring system for use in flight.
Instruments for sensing the partial pressures of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the oxygen atmosphere
of the cabin and suit, respectively. Some may argue with the detailed way in which the second basic
guideline of simplicity was carried out; however, this guideline was carried out to the extent possible
within the volume, weight, and redundancy requirements imposed upon the overall system. The effect
of the weight and volume constraints, of course, resulted in smaller and lighter equipment that could
not always be packaged in an optimum way for simplicity.
Redundancy probably increased the complexity of the systems more than

Four Practical Principles Of Vocabulary Education
Vocabulary is one of the most important contributors to children s learning. The higher the levels of
vocabulary knowledge a child has, the more they will understand and the faster they will learn.
Vocabulary learning begins at home. From an article I read in college Four practical principles for
enhancing vocabulary instruction , research has shown that the level of vocabulary instruction
received by children beginning at home has a huge bearing on both the success of children s personal
and academic development. Children from low income families and non English speaking families
face a large deficit in English vocabulary knowledge when beginning school (Manyak et al., 2014).
This deficit in turn becomes a major barrier and obstacle to reading success, and thus there is an
urgent need for teachers and schools to improve the quality of vocabulary instruction.
A lot of these children are unable to comprehend the vocabulary which they ... Show more content on

The average student knows 40,000 words (Manyak et al., 2014) so it is obvious that students need to
know more words than teachers can teach. One strategy would be to choose between 12 and 15 target
words to teach each week, depending on the level of word knowledge a word takes to understand.
There are four pragmatic principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction (Nosal, 2012). These are:
1) Establish efficient yet rich routines for introducing target words (Nosal, 2012) teaching individual
words takes time, especially if you have a large number of words to teach. Time can be saved if
successful routines are used. Having a routine saves vital learning time.
2) Provide review experiences that promote deep processing of target words (Nosal, 2012) give the
children experiences of the words that allow and encourage them to use and understand each word, the
children should be exposed to each word in multiple

Labor Market Policy Analysis
A. The labor market is always important to the economy of a nation. In the U.S, the employment
recovery started in February 2010, and it have created more than 18 million jobs for American
workers. But as Donald Trump won the election and be a new U.S president, he has not made any
policy to further this economic progress. President Trump with his new tax plan focused on making
massive profits for big and super big companies, then, instead of using the profits investing in job and
wage growth, they use that to buy back their own shares, in other words, only the rich be richer.
Another policy is proposed is the one that would deregulate 25 of the largest 38 banks, according to
the article, if this bill is passed, it would greatly undermine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The article mostly focuses on how the new policies enacted by President Trump affect the labor
market in the U.S. In term of numbers and graphs that the article provided, the authors show how the
labor market has been recovered clearly and how it is happening under new policies. With the new tax
plan, the profit growth for big companies is undeniable, but they use that to enrich the shareholders.
The authors provides 5 different graphs to strengthen the arguments. With each graph, the authors
provide facts with number to support along with it. The authors success on delivery their view on the
labor market now and upcoming. The tax cuts for small business does not necessary cause them to
hire more workers, and of course, the same goes to big business. Also, besides the new policies, the
article also provide how the recovery of the employment rate worked and failed to be equal among all
demographics, with the graph that compare between the unemployment rate of African American
population and the national unemployment rate, the difference is still there from 2010 to 2018.
Number does not lie, so as the author talk out and protect their arguments with numbers, these
information is trustworthy and their view on the labor market in the future seems more reliable. For
me, the article is completed with facts, information and predictions about later labor

There are more blessings in praise and worship than just praying all day for our needs.
The hours that we spent in prayer asking from God, if such is spent in praise and worshipping chances
are we will stand a better chance of receiving from our Heavenly Father.
Praise and worship can be defined as giving God the gratitude for what He has done, what He is
currently doing, and what He will do in our lives.
In the atmosphere of praise and worship, the Holy Spirit abounds. Chains and shackles are broken, and
blessings move around.

Van De Walle, Karp, And Bay-Williams
Van De Walle, Karp, Bay Williams (2013) describe the importance of using visual representations
such as Area, length and Set models to consolidate fractional concepts. Observations of students
representing fractions through the use of the three models allows teachers to gauge if learners have a
real understanding of the fraction concepts. Area models represent fractions as part of an area. Circular
or rectangular pieces, grids or dot paper, pattern blocks, geoboards and paper folding are examples of
this type of model (Van De Walle, Karp Bay Williams 2013, p. 293). Length or number line models

Learners may also have difficulty in understanding that a fraction of a group can be found when more
than one object is represented, two fractions can be equivalent even with different denominators and
that objects that are not the same shape can still be the same fraction. In terms of comparison students
may have difficulty in comparing bigger fractions to smaller ones and in associating the size of the
fraction to the size of the whole. Furthermore students may have difficulty is grasping all of the
representations of fractions and the concept associated with fractions greater than one.
Van De Walle, Karp, Bay Williams (2013) discuss the importance of Iterating and partitioning in
building conceptual understanding of fractions and the way they assist students to understand the
meaning of fractions, particularly numerators and denominators and the relationship between the part
and the whole. Partitioning involves sectioning shapes into equal sized parts. Area, length and set
models are particularly useful in partitioning. Iterating involves counting fractional parts and assists
students to understand the relationship between the parts and the whole or the numerator and the
denominator (pg 355). Although Iterating applies to all of the models it is mostly connected with
length models as

Ballad Of Birmingham Essay
Dudley Randall s poem, Ballad of Birmingham, takes the reader to its dilemma and environment
leading to the death of an innocent little girl. The poet guides his audience through the struggles,
hardships, and surroundings that his protagonist faced in Birmingham. The reader learns who or what
is the antagonist in this piece of literature that leads to the problem of the poem. Randall demonstrates
his thought of racial violence that is shown in the setting and situation of his poem, Ballad of
Birmingham. The poem is based on true events. On September 15, 1963, a church was bombed in the
city of Birmingham. The city got a nickname, Bombingham because of the bombing occurrences that
happened often by the KKK. This is why the poet, Dudley Randall, wrote a poem about this tragic
event because he had a strong feeling about people being mistreated for their color of skin. They
suffered and wanted to put an end to racism and segregation. This is what influenced them to march
and protest. In the poem, the little girl is asking her mother if she can go and march for their freedom
but the mother says no because it is too dangerous for her to go. She rather have her child go to church
and be safe than be in danger, but it turned out to be a tragic accident taking her daughter to church.
No, baby, no, you may not go,
For I fear those guns will fire.
But you may go to church instead
And sing in the children s choir. (Randall 13 16)
As a result, the poem is a ballad. A ballad is a form of poetry that is written as a song. It is meant to
sound like a nursery rhyme. Since it sounds very child like, it is easy to understand. The poem, Ballad
of Birmingham is telling a story about a little girl who wants to join the civil rights movement march
in Birmingham, but her mother does not let her attend which turns out to be a tragic ending. It makes a
reader surprised when they read the last stanzas because no one would have thought the little girl
would ve died because of how the poem is written in a song like structure.
By introducing the poem, the protagonist asks her mother a question:
Mother dear, may I go downtown
Instead of out to play,
And march the streets of Birmingham
In a Freedom March today? (Randall 1 4)

Management By Objectives Of MBO
*What is Management by Objectives (MBO)?
Management by Objectives (MBO) was first defined by Peter Drucker (a management guru) in 1954
in the book The Practice of Management. In the 90s, Peter Drucker by himself identified the
importance of this organization management system, when he wrote: It s just another tool. It is not the
great cure for management inefficiency... Management by Objectives works if you know the
objectives, 90% of the time you don t.
Management by Objectives (MBO) is a management system that allows managers to increase the
performance for organization by focusing on goals that need to be achieved and by attaining the best
imaginable outcomes from available resources.
Management by Objectives (MBO) aims to develop organizational performance and to line up goals

The Dilemma of Henrietta Lacks

The HeLa cells began receiving media attention not long after scientists first discovered their amazing

In the early 1970s, researchers called the Lacks family requesting blood samples from Henrietta s

than perhaps the Lacks family would have never been told of impact of their mother s cells. As it is,

Why Tobacco Should Be Banned From The United States Essay
Consumption of Tobacco is a worldwide phenomenon. Nearly every country is planning to raise more
restrictions around the consumption of Tobacco. The awareness about its ill effects is rising through
the corridors of Parliaments of many countries with the help of governmental and non governmental
organizations. There are some internationally recognized organizations like the World Lung
Foundations that are striving hard to reduce the consumption of tobacco to a bare minimum. There are
numerous reasons that support the argument that tobacco should be completely banned from the
United Sates.
Tobacco consumption is the number one cause of preventable deaths in the United States. In the
United States, cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year. That is around
one in five deaths annually only because of smoking. On an average, the person who smokes dies ten
years earlier than a non smoker. These statistics are not mere numbers but speak about the gravity of
the situation. The United States government should portray a more negative view on Tabaco to save
the lives of many people worldwide (Centre for Disease and Prevention, second paragraph). America
has a major debt of over twenty trillion dollars and does not need industries like Tabaco costing them
more. There is a huge cost borne by the Federal and State Governments because of the consumption of
tobacco by its citizens. The cost, calculated by the Center for Disease and Prevention, is around

Praise Of Bill Peters, Coach Of The Carolina Hurricanes
In Praise of Bill Peters
Now firmly into his third season as a head coach in the NHL, Bill Peters, coach of the Carolina
Hurricanes, has a lot of work in front of him to get this team into post season contention. Through his
first two years with the organization, Peters is still yet to participate in the playoffs. In fact, it has been
seven years since Carolina last saw the playoffs.
Peters current lack of post season success shouldn t be an immediate point for concern, as he came
into the team during a major recession in terms of team talent. Most notably offensive stars Alexander
Semin and Eric Staal both had major drops in terms of point production during Peters first two
seasons, both see their way out of Carolina.
It appears though for this season the pieces are beginning to fall into place for Peters vision of this
team. Their level of play over the past few games has been as high as it has ever been in recent years,
as the team as a whole is able to play effectively in all ends.
This quick turnover time shouldn t come as a shock to anyone given Bill Peters outstanding
performances behind the bench for other teams.

Assess The Role Of Catholicism In Ireland
From the conception of the modern Irish State in the beginning of the 20th century, Catholicism was
enshrined in the structure of the state in Ireland and determined the social norms and practices of
society. A nation with a deep rooted Catholic heritage that has had a profound impact on Irish history,
culture, tradition and identity. Once recognized throughout the world as a staunchly Catholic country
with the doctrines of the Church enormously entrenched in the Irish State and Irish society was

Social Hierarchy And The Twisted Lip
Social Hierarchy and The Establishment of Identity:
The Man with the Twisted Lip
The short story by Doyle, The Man with the Twisted Lip, is based on disguises of wealth and
appearance and how these disguises change the point of view that people have in the social classes and
what they think about each other during the Victorian Era. Disguises can be used to create an identity
for one s own personal gain or to protect an individual s identity. Neville St. Claire uses disguise to
validate his place as a gentleman. His status as a beggar allows him to become the successful
gentleman that he should be, by concealing his true self to the social class system. Sherlock Holmes
uses his persona as a protection to keep the people of London safe and out of harms way. Between the
two personalities of St. Claire and Holmes is the outcome of what others may think of them; St. Claire
knows the identity that he has created is not accepted by the social class while Sherlock Holmes
identity is seen as a hero and is accepted by the social class. One uses his disguise purely for monetary
gain and the other uses the identity in order to solve mysteries and protect his city. As shown in the
The Man with the Twisted Lip , disguise is only allowed when the social class accepts the identity.
Despite the fact that St. Claire and Holmes created new identities through disguise, St. Claire is
shamed of his identity while Holmes is respected. Both disguises have various goals. St. Claire hides

Weed Research Paper
Marijuana is one of Americas most addicting drugs on the market. Marijuana is most commonly
referred to as Weed . Weed is Americas most popular drug. Marijuana refers to the dried leaves,
flowers, stems, and seeds from the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa. The plant contains the mind altering
chemical delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other related compounds. Marijuana is not like
other drugs, weed is inhaled as a smoke and then proceeds to the lungs. There at the lungs it weakens
the little hairs inside the lung witch then lets the weed smoke slip through with ease. It then gets into
the blood stream and then goes to the brain and then heart. The brain tells the heart to let go of more
blood flow. Now in only one to five minutes your body has begun to change, and your eyes start to get

Globalization The Super Story By Thomas Friedman Analysis
We are said to be living in a world with a transparent and yet to develop war. But how can anyone
really see it and understand it if no one is aware of how tragic events happen, who and how many
people, countries and nations are behind it and how it all connects to technology. At least, that is what
Thomas L. Freidman writes about in his article Globalization: The Super Story . Friedman s article
was a very interesting read, especially since it touches upon some pretty dense and forgotten subjects,
such as global politics, technology and history. When I read the title of this article I expected
Friedman to discuss about global markets and the interaction of nations yet I was amazed when he
expanded on the supermarkets and how globalization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition is excellent in describing the system that is present today. Friedman pointed out that
markets around the globe become intertwined into one web of connectivity, where one company in
North America can easily interact and do business with an individual in Asia, and create profits.
However, the inter connectivity I believe in has more to it. Going beyond what Friedman stated, I
argue that the globalization of world markets not only helps the existing large financial centers of the
world, but also smaller, and often times, newer markets. While I do not agree with the outsourcing of
jobs, the factories moved to lower wage countries is a benefit to people working, and living there. It
offers employment, and a life to the workers that they would have never had if the factories were
never sent there. It helps the poorer nations in developing an economy, and become part of the global
market. Friedman said that Supermarkets can destroy nations (473), but its power could also aid the
poorer nations to grow and even maybe, join the global

Faith In The Military Force
The Air Force represents one of the military branches. The Air Force also represents protection,
integrity, and excellence with a mission to fly, fight, and win in air, space, and cyberspace. The Armed
Forces represent category 1 because they are a big part of my family and The United States of
America. My dad and my grandpa both served in The Air Force. Not only did my grandpa serve in
The Air Force but in the Army too! They are both combat veterans (served in a war). My great, great,

General George Washington which is the Revolutionary War (in the Army). The Air Force/Armed
Forces also represent category number 2 because The Air Force/Armed Forces will benefit society
after I am gone. The Air Force/Armed Forces are significant enough to pass on to the next generation
because they protect us from our enemies on land, in the air, in the sea, and in space. Without any of

represents this category because in order to pass on faith you must pass on bibles, Torahs, Korans, and

is clearly defined and is discussed in terms of the local setting and the larger population or education
situation): The local problem is the learning disabilities of students in Grade Eleven at a private San
Juan School that prevent them from performing at their expected SAT reading level. The Education
Testing Service s Secondary Level English Proficiency Test (Educational Testing Service, 2008),
expects students to have a demonstrated adequate level of Literal Comprehension and Inferential

The making of a skateboard
Essay
Introduction
As an extreme sports lover and artist, I decided to make something that represents me as the person
that I am, so I thought, making a skateboard would be a good idea. I had to think a lot about what
shape I was going to do, because most of the shapes I thought of were already made or just boring.
One of my first thoughts was making a longboard but the process would have been complicated or too
complex to make. So after a long period of time I finally came up with the idea to create a board with
the unique shape of a fishtail.
Area of interaction
With this project I am trying to get people more interested in how skateboarding and the way of
making a skateboard works. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I luckily ordered wheels which are one size smaller so they wouldn t touch the wood as much as the
ones I was trying out before. Once the wheels I ordered had arrived I screwed them on, but they were
still touching the wood, but I had a spare spacer which is a piece of plastic to put between the deck
and the trucks so now the wheels don t touch the board anymore.
Reflection
Now that I am done with my project, I have learned that I should learn how to manage my time better,
because I did everything in the last few weeks even though I have had about four to five months to
work on it. For my next big project I will start preparing and organizing my essay once I would be told
about the task so I can work through out the weeks, to not finish it under time pressure.
I am happy with my result as in my opinion I really have succeeded with the aim I had. There are a
couple of things to improve if I had done this project again. I should have been more accurate with the
planning of the deck as I could have actually done the whole process by myself so I won t have to use
an already pressed and shaped skateboard. I

Alfred W. Crosby s Article The Columbian Voyages, The...
In his article The Columbian Voyages, the Columbian Exchange, and Their Historians , Alfred W.
Crosby seems to think that much of the Columbian voyages and what came out of them was
detrimental to many cultures, most of all the Native Americans. Crosby brings up many institutions
and ideologies to re enforce his opinion, such as the slave trade and the conquest of many Native
American cultures. One of the major effects of the Columbian exchange was the decimation of the
Native American population. Crosby attributes this to many factors, the conquest of the Europeans, the
cultural vacuum created by European attempts to Christianize the Amerindians, and the introduction
of new and lethal micro organisms into the ecosystem. More commonly ... Show more content on

This in turn would lead to more consumption at the top of the food chain, eliminating the predators to
creatures at the lower end of the food chain. This would cause their numbers to rise, which would lead
to irreparable damage to the ever fragile ecosystem.
Another reason that disease is needed was defined by Thomas Malthus. His concept is called the
Malthusian Law, which states that the population will increase geometrically while the food supply
will increase arithmetically. This, simply put, means that the population will grow enormously faster
than the food supply will. Predictably, this leads to starvation and death. Disease, as a natural check,
prevents this from happening. As the population is checked, the supply of food can keep up with the
growth of population, keeping the ecosystem balanced. If disease was not a prevalent factor to check
the growth of population, then the Malthusian Law certainly would be.
However, checking the growth of population is not the only reason the disease is needed. Exposure to
viruses can also help future generations of humans live longer and more fruitful lives. Strange as it
may sound, being exposed to a particular virus can help one s children become better equipped to deal

them changes, the physiology of the human changes as well. Each generation is

From the observations of the reactions of alkali metals, it is conspicuous potassium was the most
reactive due to the fact the reaction between water and potassium was immensely more vigorous the
other alkali metals. Additionally, there was a burst of sparks and flames in the potassium reaction also
a great amount of bubbling and gas formed, greater than the other reactions. The reaction partaken
between sodium and water was seemingly not as reactive as potassium, from the experiment it can be
inferred that only sparks and some formation of gas and bubbling were observed. Moreover, lithium
was the least reactive, there were no sparks or flames evident, rather only a small amount of bubbling
and formation of gas occurred.
With the alkaline earth metals, the reactivity of the elements was tested in both water and distilled
hydrochloric acid. The reaction of calcium was observed to be more vigorous and overall more
reactive than magnesium. In the test between calcium and water, there was bubbling, and formation of
gas observed, additionally, when a magnesium strip was placed in water, no reaction occurred,

Essay about Alexander Hamilton and the Formation of...
Alexander Hamilton and the Formation of American Government
In the United States during the late 18th century, the American Colonies were struggling with their
identity. The Revolutionary War had won Americans their collective freedom, but the best way to
exercise it was the subject of much debate. One American, Alexander Hamilton, felt a need for a
common, strong economic and political base for the states. This ideology stemmed from both his
boyhood on the Island of St. Croix, and trying events during the Revolutionary War influences that
would later be instrumental in his publishing of the Federalist Papers. Hamilton s boyhood on St.
Croix was not that of a typical founding father. His mother took him and fled their home after ... Show

Underneath, however, one also sees the formation of Hamilton s love for order (Chernow 33). Slaves
greatly outnumbered any other demographic on the island, leaving the island in constant fear of revolt.
The strong plantation structure was the only curb for this fear of disorder. He would later be reminded
of his discomfort with such a sentiment during the period between 1777 and 1781 when the United
States operated under a confederate system. Hamilton s Federalist Paper #9 is titled: The Union as a
Safeguard Against domestic faction and Insurrection conveys the connection between Hamilton s fears
as a boy on St. Croix and his fears for the United States as a man.
The second major influence on Hamilton s political ideals published in the Federalist Papers was the
Revolutionary War. Early in the war, Hamilton obtained the position of Washington s aide de camp.
This position allowed him the highest security clearance, and as a result made him aware of the war
effort in its entirety. A serious problem Hamilton observed was an unwillingness of certain generals to
comply with orders, and no strong central body to enforce these orders. For example, following the
battle at the Hudson River Valley, the British position in the North was decimated; this was a logical
opportunity for General Washington to transfer troops from New England to his more exposed
position in the South (Harper 171). The two northern generals of whom he requested this of, Gates

Essay on Divergent Viewpoints
The nature of conflicting perspectives is to explore differing values and ideas, through the
representation of the events, people and situations, which in some way impact on the composer and
the reader. Composers often manipulate their representations for their own purpose and these
conflicting perspectives exist because of the eternal subjectivity of composers. Hughes 20th century
confessional poems, Fulbright Scholars and Your Paris offers a perspective on his tempestuous
relationship with Plath, persuading the reader that he was the victim suffocating under Plath s mental
instability. Similarly, George Clooney s (2005) American dramatic film, Good Night and Good Luck ,

Good Night and Good Luck, echoes this as he represents this idea through the media. Through filmic

The role of information in secondary schools education is enormous, some of which are:
To give the students a solid education background
To promote intellectual development of students
To support class projects
It assists students to express their thoughts, feelings and need.
It helps in solving problems
It assists in decision making.
The information obtained must have meaning so that it can be used in a dynamic process of being
informed (Kuhlthau).
This research work will therefore enable stakeholders in education, i.e. parents, teachers, government
etc., to identify the types of information need by students and also broaden the information search
scope of secondary school students. It is also hoped that the finding from this study will serve as
catalyst to the government in providing good ICT facilities. Such as a well equipped library,
laboratory equipment and information centers that will boost the teaching and learning processes. It is
believed that the outcome of this study will facilitate the creation of a dynamic school curriculum, that
will help students and teachers acquire adequate and current information. This will in turn help them
to be self dependent and enable them in solving life s problem.

likely assume they ll get a very nice profession after college but it usually doesn t end up that way.
People just end up working with jobs that have nothing to do with their careers because it would be so
hard to find one with their studies and some people just don t have a job right after. Nothing is
promised after you finished college unless you work your butt off. As he states in his lyrics That major

Project Get Fit Research Paper
Students often have no place to go after school so they have to ride the bus home to be by themselves
until their parents get home. Being alone can be dangerous, especially for young children. Project Get
Fit would be a beneficial after school program that would give students somewhere safe to go while
participating in fun activities to lose weight and get the obesity rate in Wayne County down. Project
Get Fit would be a free after school program till 5 o clock on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Students would spend 15 minutes stretching, 45 minutes doing exercise activities, and the last 30
minutes playing games with 5 minute breaks in between. The exercises the children will do will
incorporate all parts of the body and vary each day. They would include a series of crunches for the
abdomen, push ups for arms, jumping jacks for legs, running for the whole body, and various other
exercises. They would also play games that incorporate movement of the body and stimulate the
muscles such as jump rope, tag, red rover, tug o war, kickball, etc., I think ... Show more content on

Students ages 10 to 17 have an obesity rate of 18% in the state of Kentucky with Wayne County s rate
at 17.8%. The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services states that one solution to conquering
the rising problem is to create an active environment for children in the neighborhood; this is exactly
what Project Get Fit would be. I could use the $1,000 to invest in things the children could use in the
program. We would need to supply them with the materials that they need in order to achieve this
goal. There are several materials that could be used but some basic equipment would include ropes,
balls, and jump ropes. In our budget we would put 17% of it towards these materials and save the rest
left in the budget for future materials. This would enable this program to extend into the future to
impact generations to

How Did The Burnings Contribute To The Failure Of Mary s...
Burnings of Protestants and the Failure of Mary s Religious Policy
After Mary had taken the throne from Lady Jane Grey in 1553, she had, in her view, the task of
returning the church to the state it had been in at the start of 1534. By the end of the year of her
accession, Mary had re implemented the heresy laws and by her death in November 1558, a minimum
of 287 Protestants had died in the flames at Smithfield and elsewhere across the country. At the end of
Mary s reign Protestantism was far from being suppressed, and upon the accession of Elizabeth,
England once again swung to Protestantism. England would never be officially Catholic again.
Although it can be argued that Catholicism was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mary had considered that policy would not be too difficult to pursue, as the country had been
officially Catholic only 10 years previous. It has been argued as to what the causes of the failure of her
religious policy actually were, and it is undisputed that there are a number of possible causes.
Historians from John Foxe (writing in 1563) to Robert Tittler (1991) have disputed the effect that the
burnings had on the populace. The initial argument was that the burnings had such a profound effect
on the people of England that they took up the new religion in favour of Catholicism. This argument
hangs on the idea that people saw the victims of the burnings being prepared to die for their faith, and
were converted as a result. Tittler talks of widespread popular witness and sympathetic reaction to the
burnings that took place under Mary[2], and David Loades concurs when he describes the burnings of
Rogers and Hooper: At the same time the heroism of the early victims…made a deep impression upon
many who were not

Should Colleges Have Jobs
To succeed in life, people think they need to have jobs. For good reason too, for people must have jobs
to afford the necessary items like car payments, food, rent or a mortgage, etc. Unfortunately, college
students do not usually learn the skills that they should know to succeed in the workforce. Some
students may think that a degree will automatically obtain them a job, however, in some situations it
simply serves as a minimum requirement. Even though some colleges have applicable majors that
help, many colleges still have antiquated teaching techniques. I would like to present some things that
colleges should improve on, and some that colleges should start doing. Students need to know how to
communicate efficiently with ease. In their

HENKEL CASE STUDY
a) Describe the new culture of Henkel, in terms of its artifacts as well as content. Critically compare
Henkel s culture before 2008 and after Kasper Rorsted s arrival. Which key Differences can you
identify? How can the new culture drive forward the new strategic objectives?
What is the magic recipe that can make a company effective, successful, fruitful and eventually
Number One ? Henkel with Rorsted on the lead and an ambition of becoming the Leader in the market
had to move into radical changes. Radical changes which would lead to the new culture in terms of its

He rewarded and welcomed innovation and placed a great emphasis on recruiting and retaining only
the elite employees, the best of the best the ones who strive for success and winning.
It s not an easy task to change completely the culture of a company, to set new strategic objectives.
However, companies must change over time and not be static (Pfeffer J. , 1998). A strong culture is an
asset that a skilled manager can use and apply for the development of a company (Christensen, 2006)
and Rorsted understands and applies that well. He managed to match the company s culture with the
strategic goals. He developed a specific and conrete action plan with clear strategic goals and values
and tried to communicate it among the employees. Only a company culture with clear goals adjustable
to changencan succed and perform excellency in the long run, as in the case of the new Henkel
(Christensen, 2006).
b) Critically evaluate the new performance evaluation system of Henkel. Which advantages and
disadvantages can you identify? Which are the implications of the new system for employee
motivation?
In terms of the general makeover that Henkel went through the performance evaluation system was
not left aside. It was necessary to re create a new reward system. A new reward system that would
motivate people to perform at their best, and this was essential in order for the goals to be achieved
and make the company The Leader . The new performance system was

Analysis Of The Short Story Where Did You Get That Name
What defines the cause that ultimately depicts our take on life? On the surface, people typically see
gender as a definable matter, but fail to consider the variations that exist. Stories provide examples of
infectious reasons one views the world as they do. One s identity influences the authenticity of a
situation presented, maturity affects how one contributes to foul behavior, and those reflecting a wide
variety of experiences are more adaptable to foreign circumstances. The background of an individual
determines their approach and consideration of situations. The short story Where Did You Get That
Name? , by Baratunde Thurston, demonstrates this precisely, when Baratunde, a young Nigerian boy,
finds himself explaining the origin of his name to who he refers to as Father Nigeria, saying I got it
from my parents (Thurston3), only for the interrogation to continue and the man to dismiss his
explanation and ruthlessly assume that Baratunde [had] no history, no culture, no roots...[and] decided
to indict, judge and reject all of African America. (Thurston3). Father Nigeria , being marinated in the
Nigerian Culture all his life, immediately questioned Baratunde s authenticity. Because Baratunde was
only partially Nigerian, this man reverted to his culturally defensive mentality, and undermined
Baratunde s identity. Father Nigeria had come from purely Nigerian roots, and when a Nigerian
exposed to American culture attempted to explain his name, he automatically reacted

The During The Reconstruction Era
During the Reconstruction era which occurred after the Civil War there was animosity between the
states as well as the debate over how freed slaves should be dealt with in terms of becoming citizens
with the same rights as the Constitution provided for whites. The government had to come up some
type of conditions which would attempt to allow the rebellious southern states back into the union.
During this time period President Abraham Lincoln appointed provisional military governors to
oversee the re establishment of the southern states into the union as well as a functioning government.
Yet, during the late 1800 s the Republicans ruled Congress and made efforts during the Reconstruction
end to ensure that everyone had the same equal rights by passing the Civil Rights Bill to ensure that
everyone had equal rights. This also led to questions as to what to do with the recently freed blacks.
The main problem was with the Southern states and getting them to except black, so the government
implemented laws and Constitutional Amendments which helped the federal government with the
enforcement of equal rights which would give blacks in the south the rights to hold office and vote.
This leads us to the freeman s Bureau which was also a part of the Reconstruction Act. The
Reconstruction act of 1867 required southern states to except and ratify the 14th Amendment granting
equal protection for the freed blacks, and the 15th Amendment guaranteed the right for blacks to vote.
Blacks

U.s. Balance Of Payment Deficit
Sustainability of U.S. Balance of Payment Deficit The U.S. has been running a trade deficit
consistently since the early 1980s. There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The Great
Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk (McGahey,
2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question naturally arises; can
the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that there is no economic
reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account deficits (Carbaugh, 2013).
Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S. deficit is a problem, and there is no
solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar, 2004, p. 9). There are risks in
maintaining chronic deficits, however. The focus turns to analyzing if the benefits outweigh the risks,
and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without negatively impacting the U.S. economy
overall. Both Carbaugh, and Karczmar s risk assessments, options for keeping or reducing the deficit,
and impacts of deficit reduction are explored below. Carbaugh explains that the U.S. media and trade
unions myopically focus on merchandise trade imbalance while glossing over the fact that services
balance has been positive (Carbaugh, 2013). The discussion turns towards services jobs paying less
than manufacturing jobs. Jobs that have been created post the recession are lower paying jobs

  • 2. Electronic Commerce ( E Commerce ) The development of new technological innovations, such as the Internet, has brought on changes for the market. The Internet offers a world wide network, which connects millions of individuals and businesses and creates a global marketplace with huge business opportunities (E business, eEurope, n.d). More and more companies have discovered the advantage of using the Internet as a communication tool to reach consumers at any place and at any time. This also enables consumers to search and gather information about products and services online. The word e commerce refers to all transactions online. Electronic commerce (e commerce) is the area in which we are to do our research and throughout this dissertation we will discuss consumer trust in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud (Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or not applicable in an online environment (Grabner Kräuter Kaluscha, 2003). Many consumers appreciate the real shopping experience of touching things and trying items on. So, in order to understand why people do or do not engage in e commerce activities, it is important to study online trust (Cazier et al., 2006). Trust is an essential tool for a transaction to take place, both in an online and offline environment. In e commerce, the Internet vendors as well as their websites can be trust building sources in themselves. So, it is important for companies to learn how to manage consumers trust in e commerce. Although, building consumer trust on the Internet is a challenge for online vendors. For this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The effect of the Lords unanimous 2 ruling was to uphold 3firmly the doctrine4 of corporate personality, as set out in the Companies Act 1862, so that creditors of an insolvent company could not sue the company s shareholders to pay up outstanding debts. The company in this case has been regarded by Vaughan Williams J. as the agent of Aron Salomon. I should rather liken the company to a trustee for him a trustee improperly 20 brought into existence by him to enable him to do what the statute prohibits. It is manifest 21 that the other members of the company have practically no interest in it, and their names have merely been used by Mr.Aron Salomon to enable him to form a company, and to use its name in order to screen himself from liability. This view of the case is quite consistent with In re George Newman Co.[4] In a strict legal sense the business may have to be regarded as the business of the company; but if any jury were asked, Whose business was it? they would say Aron Salomon s, and they would be right, if they meant that the beneficial interest in the business was his. I do not go so far as to say that the creditors of the company could sue him. In my opinion, they can only reach him through the company. Moreover, Mr.Aron Salomon s liability to indemnify the company in this case is, in my view, the legal consequence of the formation of the company in order to attain a result not permitted by law. The liability does not arise simply from the fact that he holds nearly all the shares in the company. A man may do that and yet be under no such liability as Mr.Aron Salomon has come under. His liability rests on the purpose for which he formed the company, on the way he formed it, and on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Divorce Impact On Divorce The Family Law Act 1975 (cth) defines divorce as the termination of a marriage otherwise than by the death of a party to the marriage. The concept of divorce and marriage has dramatically altered as the values and beliefs of society has changed, starting with the abolishment of the fault divorce system in 1975, to the creation of online divorce kits by the Federal Magistrates Courts in 2004. While prior to the Family Law Act 1975 (cth), divorce could be considered too difficult to attain, today it is considered too easy to divorce. However, the process of marriage is seen as overcomplicated, requiring multiple prerequisites to be considered legal. When compared to the relatively difficult process of marriage, divorce can be considered too easy to attain, as a result impacting the lives of unhappily married couples and their families throughout Australia. The definition of marriage, as stated in the Marriage Act 1961 (cth), specifies that for a couple to attain marriage, there needs to be a union 1. Of a man and a woman 2. That excludes all others 3. That is voluntarily entered into 4. For life There are also a number of requirements for before, during and after the ceremony. The higher the levels of vocabulary knowledge a child has, the more they will understand and the faster they will learn. Vocabulary learning begins at home. From an article I read in college Four practical principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction , research has shown that the level of vocabulary instruction received by children beginning at home has a huge bearing on both the success of children s personal and academic development. Children from low income families and non English speaking families face a large deficit in English vocabulary knowledge when beginning school (Manyak et al., 2014). There are four pragmatic principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction (Nosal, 2012). These are: 1) Establish efficient yet rich routines for introducing target words (Nosal, 2012) teaching individual words takes time, especially if you have a large number of words to teach. Time can be saved if successful routines are used. Having a routine saves vital learning time. 2) Provide review experiences that promote deep processing of target words (Nosal, 2012) give the children experiences of the words that allow and encourage them to use and understand each word, the children should be exposed to each word in multiple ... • 14. Ballad Of Birmingham Essay Dudley Randall s poem, Ballad of Birmingham, takes the reader to its dilemma and environment leading to the death of an innocent little girl. The poet guides his audience through the struggles, hardships, and surroundings that his protagonist faced in Birmingham. The reader learns who or what is the antagonist in this piece of literature that leads to the problem of the poem. Randall demonstrates his thought of racial violence that is shown in the setting and situation of his poem, Ballad of Birmingham. The poem is based on true events. On September 15, 1963, a church was bombed in the city of Birmingham. The city got a nickname, Bombingham because of the bombing occurrences that happened often by the KKK. This is why the poet, Dudley Randall, wrote a poem about this tragic event because he had a strong feeling about people being mistreated for their color of skin. They suffered and wanted to put an end to racism and segregation. This is what influenced them to march and protest. In the poem, the little girl is asking her mother if she can go and march for their freedom but the mother says no because it is too dangerous for her to go. She rather have her child go to church and be safe than be in danger, but it turned out to be a tragic accident taking her daughter to church. No, baby, no, you may not go, For I fear those guns will fire. But you may go to church instead And sing in the children s choir. (Randall 13 16) As a result, the poem is a ballad. A ballad is a form of poetry that is written as a song. It is meant to sound like a nursery rhyme. Since it sounds very child like, it is easy to understand. The poem, Ballad of Birmingham is telling a story about a little girl who wants to join the civil rights movement march in Birmingham, but her mother does not let her attend which turns out to be a tragic ending. It makes a reader surprised when they read the last stanzas because no one would have thought the little girl would ve died because of how the poem is written in a song like structure. By introducing the poem, the protagonist asks her mother a question: Mother dear, may I go downtown Instead of out to play, And march the streets of Birmingham In a Freedom March today? Nearly every country is planning to raise more restrictions around the consumption of Tobacco. The awareness about its ill effects is rising through the corridors of Parliaments of many countries with the help of governmental and non governmental organizations. There are some internationally recognized organizations like the World Lung Foundations that are striving hard to reduce the consumption of tobacco to a bare minimum. There are numerous reasons that support the argument that tobacco should be completely banned from the United Sates. Tobacco consumption is the number one cause of preventable deaths in the United States. In the United States, cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year. That is around one in five deaths annually only because of smoking. On an average, the person who smokes dies ten years earlier than a non smoker. Through his first two years with the organization, Peters is still yet to participate in the playoffs. In fact, it has been seven years since Carolina last saw the playoffs. Peters current lack of post season success shouldn t be an immediate point for concern, as he came into the team during a major recession in terms of team talent. Most notably offensive stars Alexander Semin and Eric Staal both had major drops in terms of point production during Peters first two seasons, both see their way out of Carolina. It appears though for this season the pieces are beginning to fall into place for Peters vision of this team. Social Hierarchy And The Twisted Lip Social Hierarchy and The Establishment of Identity: The Man with the Twisted Lip The short story by Doyle, The Man with the Twisted Lip, is based on disguises of wealth and appearance and how these disguises change the point of view that people have in the social classes and what they think about each other during the Victorian Era. Disguises can be used to create an identity for one s own personal gain or to protect an individual s identity. Neville St. Claire uses disguise to validate his place as a gentleman. His status as a beggar allows him to become the successful gentleman that he should be, by concealing his true self to the social class system. Sherlock Holmes uses his persona as a protection to keep the people of London safe and out of harms way. Between the two personalities of St. Claire and Holmes is the outcome of what others may think of them; St. Claire knows the identity that he has created is not accepted by the social class while Sherlock Holmes identity is seen as a hero and is accepted by the social class. But how can anyone really see it and understand it if no one is aware of how tragic events happen, who and how many people, countries and nations are behind it and how it all connects to technology. At least, that is what Thomas L. Freidman writes about in his article Globalization: The Super Story . Friedman s article was a very interesting read, especially since it touches upon some pretty dense and forgotten subjects, such as global politics, technology and history. Going beyond what Friedman stated, I argue that the globalization of world markets not only helps the existing large financial centers of the world, but also smaller, and often times, newer markets. While I do not agree with the outsourcing of jobs, the factories moved to lower wage countries is a benefit to people working, and living there. It offers employment, and a life to the workers that they would have never had if the factories were never sent there. It helps the poorer nations in developing an economy, and become part of the global market. Crosby brings up many institutions and ideologies to re enforce his opinion, such as the slave trade and the conquest of many Native American cultures. One of the major effects of the Columbian exchange was the decimation of the Native American population. His concept is called the Malthusian Law, which states that the population will increase geometrically while the food supply will increase arithmetically. This, simply put, means that the population will grow enormously faster than the food supply will. Predictably, this leads to starvation and death. Alexander Hamilton and the Formation of American Government In the United States during the late 18th century, the American Colonies were struggling with their identity. The Revolutionary War had won Americans their collective freedom, but the best way to exercise it was the subject of much debate. He would later be reminded of his discomfort with such a sentiment during the period between 1777 and 1781 when the United States operated under a confederate system. Hamilton s Federalist Paper #9 is titled: The Union as a Safeguard Against domestic faction and Insurrection conveys the connection between Hamilton s fears as a boy on St. Croix and his fears for the United States as a man. The second major influence on Hamilton s political ideals published in the Federalist Papers was the Revolutionary War. Early in the war, Hamilton obtained the position of Washington s aide de camp. This position allowed him the highest security clearance, and as a result made him aware of the war effort in its entirety. A serious problem Hamilton observed was an unwillingness of certain generals to comply with orders, and no strong central body to enforce these orders. For example, following the battle at the Hudson River Valley, the British position in the North was decimated; this was a logical opportunity for General Washington to transfer troops from New England to his more exposed position in the South (Harper 171). • 42. Analysis Of Kanye West s Song All Falls Down The song I have chosen to talk about is one of my favorite songs ever and it s called All Falls Down by Kanye West. The College Dropout came out in 2004 and was Kanye Wests debut album as a music artist. This song was his third single off the album. As shown from Barbaric Poetries blog, Tia states that Kanye s message in this song is that, when you live life to impress others and cover up your insecurities, you will never be satisfied, thus all will seem to fall down (http://barbaricpoetries. blogspot.com/2012/04/and it all falls down.html). The catchy melody given in the beginning of the song is what caught everyone s ears when it first came out. Kanye produced this song in 2004 where he used very simple instruments to attract his fans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if you wanted to become successful in life there has to be consequences you have to take in order to become prosperous. In the life of a college student you find that the student is the one who has to take penalties in order to get that degree. Making time for yourself to succeed is mandatory for you to keep in your mind at all times. Since Kanye named his album The College Dropout , he frequently inquiries the significance of going to college. The title of his debut album actually tells us a story of everything that he was going through at the time. Several individuals go to college because it s a safe way to partake if you don t have anything planned after you have graduated from high school. Great parents will tell their children to go to college because it would be a backup plan if they didn t do anything else with their career. If plan A doesn t work, you always have plan B to back you up right after. A lot of people will most likely assume they ll get a very nice profession after college but it usually doesn t end up that way. People just end up working with jobs that have nothing to do with their careers because it would be so hard to find one with their studies and some people just don t have a job right after. Nothing is promised after you finished college unless you work your butt off. As he states in his lyrics That major that she majored in don t make no money, but she won t drop out, her parents will look at her funny. • 43. Project Get Fit Research Paper Students often have no place to go after school so they have to ride the bus home to be by themselves until their parents get home. Being alone can be dangerous, especially for young children. Project Get Fit would be a beneficial after school program that would give students somewhere safe to go while participating in fun activities to lose weight and get the obesity rate in Wayne County down. Project Get Fit would be a free after school program till 5 o clock on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Students would spend 15 minutes stretching, 45 minutes doing exercise activities, and the last 30 minutes playing games with 5 minute breaks in between. The exercises the children will do will incorporate all parts of the body and vary each day. They would include a series of crunches for the abdomen, push ups for arms, jumping jacks for legs, running for the whole body, and various other exercises. They would also play games that incorporate movement of the body and stimulate the muscles such as jump rope, tag, red rover, tug o war, kickball, etc., I think ... The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services states that one solution to conquering the rising problem is to create an active environment for children in the neighborhood; this is exactly what Project Get Fit would be. I could use the $1,000 to invest in things the children could use in the program. We would need to supply them with the materials that they need in order to achieve this goal. There are several materials that could be used but some basic equipment would include ropes, balls, and jump ropes. In our budget we would put 17% of it towards these materials and save the rest left in the budget for future materials. This would enable this program to extend into the future to impact generations to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Burnings of Protestants and the Failure of Mary s Religious Policy After Mary had taken the throne from Lady Jane Grey in 1553, she had, in her view, the task of returning the church to the state it had been in at the start of 1534. By the end of the year of her accession, Mary had re implemented the heresy laws and by her death in November 1558, a minimum of 287 Protestants had died in the flames at Smithfield and elsewhere across the country. At the end of Mary s reign Protestantism was far from being suppressed, and upon the accession of Elizabeth, England once again swung to Protestantism. England would never be officially Catholic again. Although it can be argued that Catholicism was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mary had considered that policy would not be too difficult to pursue, as the country had been officially Catholic only 10 years previous. It has been argued as to what the causes of the failure of her religious policy actually were, and it is undisputed that there are a number of possible causes. Historians from John Foxe (writing in 1563) to Robert Tittler (1991) have disputed the effect that the burnings had on the populace. The initial argument was that the burnings had such a profound effect on the people of England that they took up the new religion in favour of Catholicism. This argument hangs on the idea that people saw the victims of the burnings being prepared to die for their faith, and were converted as a result. Tittler talks of widespread popular witness and sympathetic reaction to the burnings that took place under Mary[2], and David Loades concurs when he describes the burnings of Rogers and Hooper: At the same time the heroism of the early victims…made a deep impression upon many who were not ... For good reason too, for people must have jobs to afford the necessary items like car payments, food, rent or a mortgage, etc. Unfortunately, college students do not usually learn the skills that they should know to succeed in the workforce. Some students may think that a degree will automatically obtain them a job, however, in some situations it simply serves as a minimum requirement. Even though some colleges have applicable majors that help, many colleges still have antiquated teaching techniques. It s not an easy task to change completely the culture of a company, to set new strategic objectives. However, companies must change over time and not be static (Pfeffer J. , 1998). A strong culture is an asset that a skilled manager can use and apply for the development of a company (Christensen, 2006) and Rorsted understands and applies that well. • 49. Analysis Of The Short Story Where Did You Get That Name What defines the cause that ultimately depicts our take on life? On the surface, people typically see gender as a definable matter, but fail to consider the variations that exist. Stories provide examples of infectious reasons one views the world as they do. One s identity influences the authenticity of a situation presented, maturity affects how one contributes to foul behavior, and those reflecting a wide variety of experiences are more adaptable to foreign circumstances. The background of an individual determines their approach and consideration of situations. The short story Where Did You Get That Name? , by Baratunde Thurston, demonstrates this precisely, when Baratunde, a young Nigerian boy, finds himself explaining the origin of his name to who he refers to as Father Nigeria, saying I got it from my parents (Thurston3), only for the interrogation to continue and the man to dismiss his explanation and ruthlessly assume that Baratunde [had] no history, no culture, no roots...[and] decided to indict, judge and reject all of African America. (Thurston3). Father Nigeria , being marinated in the Nigerian Culture all his life, immediately questioned Baratunde s authenticity. Because Baratunde was only partially Nigerian, this man reverted to his culturally defensive mentality, and undermined Baratunde s identity. Father Nigeria had come from purely Nigerian roots, and when a Nigerian exposed to American culture attempted to explain his name, he automatically reacted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. The During The Reconstruction Era During the Reconstruction era which occurred after the Civil War there was animosity between the states as well as the debate over how freed slaves should be dealt with in terms of becoming citizens with the same rights as the Constitution provided for whites. The government had to come up some type of conditions which would attempt to allow the rebellious southern states back into the union. During this time period President Abraham Lincoln appointed provisional military governors to oversee the re establishment of the southern states into the union as well as a functioning government. Yet, during the late 1800 s the Republicans ruled Congress and made efforts during the Reconstruction end to ensure that everyone had the same equal rights by passing the Civil Rights Bill to ensure that everyone had equal rights. This also led to questions as to what to do with the recently freed blacks. The main problem was with the Southern states and getting them to except black, so the government implemented laws and Constitutional Amendments which helped the federal government with the enforcement of equal rights which would give blacks in the south the rights to hold office and vote. This leads us to the freeman s Bureau which was also a part of the Reconstruction Act. The Reconstruction act of 1867 required southern states to except and ratify the 14th Amendment granting equal protection for the freed blacks, and the 15th Amendment guaranteed the right for blacks to vote. • 51. U.s. Balance Of Payment Deficit Sustainability of U.S. Balance of Payment Deficit The U.S. has been running a trade deficit consistently since the early 1980s. There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The Great Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk (McGahey, 2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question naturally arises; can the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that there is no economic reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account deficits (Carbaugh, 2013). Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S. deficit is a problem, and there is no solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar, 2004, p. 9). There are risks in maintaining chronic deficits, however. The focus turns to analyzing if the benefits outweigh the risks, and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without negatively impacting the U.S. economy overall. Both Carbaugh, and Karczmar s risk assessments, options for keeping or reducing the deficit, and impacts of deficit reduction are explored below. Carbaugh explains that the U.S. media and trade unions myopically focus on merchandise trade imbalance while glossing over the fact that services balance has been positive (Carbaugh, 2013). The discussion turns towards services jobs paying less than manufacturing jobs. Jobs that have been created post the recession are lower paying jobs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
