The Contribution Of Cockroaches
The contribution of cockroaches in the ecosystem.
What will happen if there were no cockroaches?
Cockroaches are one of the ancient species, it begins to be found from the Carboniferous period, about
320 million years ago [1]. It belongs to the group of Blattodea, undering the category of Inseacta.
Most of us has seen cockroaches, we often see them hiding inside the dark and humid place in our
home, including the kitchen, toilet or the gutter. Every time we see them, we would never be nice to
them, killing them as fast as we could, we may ever hope they could become extinct. However, have
we thought about the their benefits and contribution to the world? In this essay, the importance of
cockroaches will be discussed by focusing their contribution in ... Show more content on

Strategic Marketing Principles
Strategic Marketing Principles
Introduction
Being strategic when spending marketing dollars is important for any company regardless of size. A
business, for this case British Airways, can only be as successful as its marketing initiatives. A
company is said to be market driven when it is focused on the market that it is in and the customers
who define that market (Buggie, 1993). Sometimes a company will examine the overall market they
are in and try to redefine it so that they can cover a niche. British Airways is trying to focus its drive in
its market so that customers look to the company as the leading premier air carrier. In order for the
company to do this, they have to alter long held perceptions by changing the way that they do
business. British Airways has started doing this by employing two distinct methodologies. First British
Airways merged with Iberia which gives them a wider customer base, and they formed alliances with
other national carriers such as Qantas and American Airlines. The company also needed to have a look
that bespoke luxury, so they have also upgraded their facilities in the airports they serve (specifically
Heathrow). The purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of British Airways plans to
expand their business and improve their services through a strategic marketing analysis.
Background
British Airways became an organized airline in 1971 (British Airways, 2011). Through the years the
airline has been forced to change as the

What Is The Eulogy In The Unknown Citizen
Memories Make The Man Memories are information that the brain stores throughout people s lives.
The memories of a person is what shapes their lives and leaves an impression on other people s lives
as well. Without these memories, their lives would have been meaningless. In W. H. Auden s The
Unknown Citizen, it is evident that memories are important to really knowing a person. In the text, a
eulogy is given by a government official for a citizen whose life is unknown. The official goes
throughout the eulogy expressing how much the deceased was a saint by stating different facts from
different government organizations about his life (line 4). Auden uses a sarcastic eulogy given by a
government official to argue that people s lives should allot to more than just facts and statistics about
their lives. Auden utilizes structure to form his poem as an eulogy to show how little the speaker ...

The most sarcastic lines of the poem are at the end when the speaker states, Was he free? Was he
happy? The question is absurd: / Had anything been wrong, we should certainly have heard, (28 29).
The author was trying to present his audience with how disgraceful this eulogy was to the memory of
this man. The eulogy random facts and has no personal memory of this man. The lack of personal
memories not only establishes that facts do not determine what kind lives people live, but also reveals
that without memories of people, people s lives would mean little to nothing. The government official
proves this more by the fabrication of the companies within the poem. The speaker states, But
satisfied his employers, Fudge Motors Inc. (8). The word Fudge is used to indicate that these statistics
about the man is ridiculous. There are several more concocted companies throughout the poem that
were to imply how little is known about the citizen and how this eulogy was not taken

Service Learning Project Paper
Service Learning Project When I began my Civics class, thinking it potentially difficult and boring, I
did not initially look forward to this project. However, as I did each activity, I found myself enjoying
each and every one. From sitting in a board meeting to collecting trash, I discovered something new in
all of the ways I volunteered. Not only did the people I volunteered for gain something through my
service, but I feel that I gained a lot as well.
The first activity I completed was observing a Davidson County School Board meeting on the topic of
an information breach that occurred. I took notes throughout the meeting and supported every teacher
that spoke about their concerns. Collecting trash around the Ledford High School campus, both the
football and baseball stadiums on two different occasions, was the next activity I completed. I then
helped to paint a set for the Ledford Production of The Music Man. When the Special Olympics was
held at Ledford, I decided to use that opportunity to become a buddy. I took the athlete and his family
that I was paired with around to the different games that were offered, and got him water and snacks
when he needed it. I was also a buddy for multiple athletes at the Miracle League of High Point. I
assisted and encouraged each child as they batted, ran the bases, and played in the outfield in every
game. I chose to attend the School Board meeting because I was interested to see how the release of
Davidson County employee information affected their lives. My mother is a teacher, and I was curious
if other employees shared her concerns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Death Of Venice By Thomas Mann
Tadzio as an Illuminator
In Thomas Mann s Death In Venice, Tadzio is likened to the sun and thus represents an illuminating
force for knowing what is truly good and just and by consequence represents a higher truth. This quest
for knowledge on what is good becomes apparent as Aschenbach becomes more and more infatuated
with Tadzio, not in a romantic sense, but rather a sense of seeking what he believes is right, a platonic
relationship which ultimately sparks Aschenbach s demise. Aschenbach s motives are somewhat
muddled as he enters the second half of his life and seeks to find what is true. To do this he decides to
take a vacation to Venice where he meets Tadzio. After being a rather stoic and cold person, this all
melts away as he basks in Tadzio s presence as one would in the sun. Tadzio as a representation for
light is why Aschenbach is so drawn to him, because he believes that the child could be the
illuminating figure for him. While Tadzio himself is not the higher truth personified, he does act as the
ray of light for seeing what Aschenbach s wants in his life, what he sought after since the beginning of
the story. Examples of this relationship and its representations include how Tadzio is likened to Helios
who is the sun giant in Greek mythology, the imagery associated with sun and Tadzio, such as Tadzio
rising from the sea and how ever present he is in the environment around Aschenbach, how Tadzio is
described as Aschenbach s Mirror and image suggesting that

The Main Determinants Of Money Supply Essay
The major determinants of money supply being the size of monetary base and the components that
determines the money multipliers, such as income level, deposit rate, various interest rate, liquidity
preferences of the people, the theory suggests that the NRB s policy has been a steady growth money
supply which is reflected in the publication, the Periodic Economic Planning, of the planning
commission and the Economic Review published by NRB. According to Thapa (1997), the highest
growth was recorded in 1960, and the lowest growth was recorded in 1971. In 1960, the M1 and M2
monetary aggregates grew by 40.9% and reserve money (monetary base) grew by 48.8%. In 1971, the
growth of M1 was 3.9% while reserve money declined by almost 1%.
1.2 Conceptual Background of the Rational Expectations Hypothesis The policy effectiveness has
been a continuing debate in macroeconomics between the Classical and the Keynesians. The
introduction of the rational expectation hypothesis in macroeconomics elevated the debate by
differentiating policies into anticipated and unanticipated. The rational expectation hypothesis
suggests that economic agents use all available information to form the future expectation. Therefore,
any expected policy change will not have any impact on real macro variables as the economic agents
fully incorporate the information into their expectation formation. The policy implication of this
hypothesis is that the change in policy should be a surprise to have a

Sustainability, Well Being, Welfare Essay
Keywords: sustainability; well being; welfare 1. Introduction
The term sustainability has ended up prevalent in arrangement situated exploration as a declaration of
what open strategies should accomplish. The essential motivation originated from the Brundtland
Report of 1987 (1). From that point forward the idea has moved in importance. This paper contends
that the movement is terrible in that it darkens the genuine inconsistency which exists between long
term maintainability and transient welfare. Also, the refinement between three pillars of sustainability
is reasonably fluffy. We propose a definition that returns to the first sense in which the idea was
expected.
Notwithstanding, this paper does not profess to offer a far reaching perspective of the issue of
maintainability. It displays a basic perspective of how the term is utilized as a part of approach open
deliberation and in effect evaluation the arrangement of strategies utilized as a part of connected
exploration to assess strategies and undertakings.
2. Backgrounds
The idea of sustainability was initially instituted in ranger service, where it implies failing to harvest
more than what the timberland yields in new development The word Nachhaltigkeit (the German
expression for sustainability) was initially utilized with this significance as a part of 1713. The worry

Due Diligence in Corrective Action
Due diligence as defined by Merriam Webster dictionary is the care that a reasonable person exercises
to avoid harm to other persons or their property ( Definition, 2013, p. 1). Human Resources is
responsible to the employees and to future hires to explain job descriptions, conditions of
employment, and corrective action so that it is understood. Patton Fuller Community Hospital has

Comparison Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras...
Mark Twain is known as a great author from his own unique style of writing. All his publications have
a similarity in a certain style of his writing which makes his works of art such amazing books. Chapter
12 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The celebrated Jumping
Frog of Calaveras County , both written by Mark Twain have many similarities in the form of
figurative language, syntax, and diction.
To start with, Mark Twain s figurative language helps make his story unique. He utilises a range of
bizzare similes in both passages that make these stories stay true to the past and humorous. For
example in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain writes, ... cottonwood thick as harrow teeth .
This would be considered as one of his similes that are very unusual since many readers might not
know what a harrow even is but as you can infer, that in those times people in the book would have
known what he was speaking about. This shows how his bizzare similes stick to the time period of his
writing. To add, in the second publication the similes
Twain had integrated made the story a little more humorous to read. Twain writes, He was a different
dog, his underjaw d began to stick out like the fo castle of a steamboat,... (The celebrated Jumping
Frog of Calaveras County 6). This shows how his use of similes here was humorous since Twain made
fun of a dog with a large underbite. Although, his use of similes is fantastic his use of symbolism was
excellent also. ... Andrew jackson

Female Sexual Offenders And Female Sex Offenders
Just like most crimes, the number of female sexual offenders is much lower than the number of male
sexual offenders. This is especially true about sex offenses. For a while, most people didn t believe
that woman could even commit a sex related crime; besides prostitution. There is still a stigma around
the topic; woman are the victims, not the offenders. This is not true though. Female sex offenders have
their own category. This is because their motives and actions are different than a man s. The research
done on female offenders can be bias because it is such a small amount compared to the male
population of sex offenders.
Woman are thought to make up less than 5% of all sexual offences (Harris, 1979). This is very small
compared to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is almost half of the offenders with a drug problem and one third of them with an alcohol
problem.
The victims of a female s sex offender are generally younger than a man s victim. An investigation
was held in Arkansas in 1999 and reported that 50% of their victims were categorized as 11 16 and
24% were in the 4 10 age range (Tewksbury, 2004, p 368). Solis and Benedek mention a study that
found 60% of males who reported sexual abuse had identified a female as the offender (1993). The
female offenders who abuse young boys are suggested that they have a difficult time associating with
adult males and they use the boys as a substitution (Solis and Benedek, 2012). This could be because
of their own trauma as a child, they do not have healthy relationships with any adult male in their life.
So, they go after children. It is also pointed out that females are more likely to victimize other females.
One thought on why females victimize other females is because they have a male counterpart, who is
attracted to females. According to Tewksbury (2004), the female offender knew the victim:
In Fromuth and Conn (1997) s study of self reported sexual perpetrators in a college population, 68%
of the victims were identified as family members. Faller (1995) reported that in the sample of 40
clinically referred perpetrators, 85% were mothers and 55% abused only their own children, whereas
30% abused both their own and other s children.

Viewers Perceptions of On-Air Cursing Essay

viewers perceptions and enjoyment of a docu drama. We also examined the individual difference
variable of verbal aggressiveness to test for possible interactions. Overall, the warning labels increased
enjoyment of the program containing profanity among college students. Bleeping had no effect on
either program liking or perceptions of realism; however, bleeping decreased perceptions of the
program s offensiveness, and increased viewers perceptions of profanity frequently estimates. Lastly,

Another airing of the same program self censored (or quot;bleeped quot;) the profanity. Therefore,
although program ratings have allowed viewers greater opportunity to filter their viewing, lowered
norms of self censorship have perhaps broadened the material available to them. These less restrictive
norms, on one hand, and more frequent labeling of material, on the other, lead us to ask how labels
and self censoring affect the enjoyment and perceptions of program content by viewers. Therefore, the
current study uses an experimental design to examine the effects of program labels and self censoring
on the perceptions and enjoyment of viewers. First, we will discuss the possible effects of warnings
and self censoring (bleeping) on viewers enjoyment and perceptions of the content. Next, we will
consider possible individual differences in viewers responses to the manipulations.

Although few studies on program warnings had been conducted prior to the 1990s (see, however,
Austin, 1980; Herman amp; Leyens, 1977; Wurtzel amp; Surlin, 1978), the current use of program
warnings and ratings by the networks, combined with the increase in parental concern about
problematic media content (Cantor, Stutman amp; Duran, 1996), has created an environment in which
research into this issue has become more prevalent. A majority of these studies is grounded in
reactance theory (Brehm, 1981). Reactance

Evil Dead Reflection
One Friday, September 29, 2017, I visited the City Theatre (inside Hockeytown Café) to watch Evil
Dead: The Musical written by George Reinblatt and presented by Olympia Entertainment and Sweat
Equity Studio. When I first arrived, I was greeted by the Usher who gave me a program. In the
Program, there is a bolded section with the name and title of those that made the production possible.
The director for this play was Jamie Warron, and the music director was Timothy Martuch. In the
second and third page of the program is a section called Who s Who , which serves the purpose giving
a brief description of the crew involved and their titles. In class we looked at some of the job duties for
those involved in a play, and this can relate to that description of each job and individual. Evil Dead is
about four college students who go on a trip for spring break to an abandoned cabin in the woods.
There they find a book that helps them release some sort of evil spirit. Each of them start to get
attacked by this evil spirit and killing one by one. In the performance that I witnessed, the story was
told in a comedic way compared to the Evil Dead film, which is more of a scarier and serious form of
the story. To me, the play seemed to have two themes, perseverance and good versus evil.
Perseverance to survive from the evil being who wanted to kill all of them. One of the characters cut
his arm off in order to not allow the evil spirit to take control over him. To me, the purpose of the

Analysis Of The Croatian Market In Croatia
In order for a U.S. Company to enter the Croatian market it is important to have a thorough and deep
understanding of the intricacies of the market. In order to acquire this knowledge extensive research
and investigation has been conducted. Below I have included a general overview/ analysis of the
Croatian Market which facilitates market entry planning and projects. Market Overview Croatia is a
developing country situated in Southeastern Europe it has a relatively small yet complex market which
plays a very vital role when it comes to political and economic stability in the Balkan region. Croatian
population consists of a small 4,170.60 million people according to the World Bank s data.

A social mindset prevails in various parts of Croatian society. It is important to keep in mind that
Croatia has recently recovered from the Homeland war just twenty two short years ago. The country
has made tremendous strides towards reconstruction and recovery within the last decade. Some major
setbacks the country deals with today are that the majority of Croatian income comes from
government funding, social insurance, or public monopolies. Not from the revenues of truly
competitive companies. Therefore, any reforms that are introduced that are in opposition to or address
corruption, public overspending, or judicial inefficacy usually faces strong opposition from privileged
majority on top. On a more optimistic note Croatia has a growing force of entrepreneurs who have
innovative and vibrant ideas which are changing the way business in conducted in many industries in
Croatia. These entrepreneurs and their businesses follow strong EU regulations and rules which make
them perfect potential partners for American companies looking to expand in the region. Market
Challenges Croatia s developing Economy is still after its gained independence in 1991. A number of
internal problems plague Croatia s development. These include Judiciary inefficiencies infested with
case back logs and a lack of expertise in commercial affairs, and a complex non transparent
bureaucracy. Corruption is also a major issue that people battle with when conducting business

According to Wickham (2006) process of growth model, MPM would be looking into financial growth
as the company focuses commercial activities such as profitability, sales and turnover. Besides,
strategic growth will be taken into account when competing with its competitors in its market industry
in creating or selling new products when compared with their competitors. After implementing the
theories in MPM, it helped me understand MPM s market analysis of rivalry among existing
competitors. Applying Churchill and Lewis model in MPM, it can be said that it is in between Stage
III: Success and Stage IV: Take off, as it has its own brand and have been sustained its business for
over 25 years (Churchill and Lewis, 1983). Over the years, MPM has expanded to more branches of
offices which shows that the company has attained economic health and has sufficient size to ensure
economic success. After applying frameworks and theories, it can be stated that in terms of growth in
a company, I have learnt that it can be applied and indicated differently in distinctive companies. To
exemplify, growth can mean increase in staff employment in a company whereas it can also mean
increase in production volume. However, it is clear that growth must be planned, organised, activated
and controlled (Nieman and Pretorius, 2004). In other words, growth can be either sustaining its
business in the industry or expanding its business. Having to explore

The Hurt Man
Life is full of loss and you cannot avoid experiencing it and well as sorrow. As people grow up they
come to realize that the world is not as it seemed to be when they were younger. They get more
independent and their perspective of life changes. They will have to realize that they are not going to
live forever. In the short story The Hurt Man, written by Wendell Berry and published in 2003, we
meet Mat who learns all of this.
During the short story Mat is growing up. He is born unexpected but he is still very much appreciated.

The opening case, NBA Teams Make a Slam dunk with Information Technology, shows students that
even the professional sports industry has embraced technology as a way to enhance their employees
performance and increase their competitive advantage. Students will start to become familiar with the
idea that many different kinds of businesses have had to change the way they operate, even the
National Basketball Association (NBA). Their new emphasis is on using the Internet and information
technology to mine statistical data and turn it into useful information. The challenges facing the NBA
show why information systems are so essential today. The NBA is a business as well as a sport, and it
needs to help its member teams stay in business and increase their revenues.
Section 1.1, The Role of Information Systems in Business Today , gives students a feel for the
importance of information systems in business today and how they have transformed businesses on
the world stage. A good discussion of the six important business objectives outlined in this section
allows the instructor and students to openly discuss why businesses have become so dependent on
information systems today and the importance of these systems for the survival of a firm. Stress to
students that information systems are not a luxury. In most businesses they are the core to survival.
This would be a good time to ask students to discuss how their own schools are using

Classical Realism Vs Neorealism
Throughout the course of history, it had become customary to assume that a state that is fearful of
others and works only to help and protect itself, is the unparalleled genius; this notion is the basis for
the political theory of realism. Neorealism, developed sometime after World War II, is a
reinterpretation of classical realism, which was originally developed in Ancient Greece(M AT 2017,
80). Kenneth Waltz, whose work helped the transition from realism to neorealism, believed that the
structure of the international system was the most important thing to study, being that the international
system is anarchic(Haupt, 2017, T2L1, 8). Neorealists have a few core assumptions, including:
believing the international system is anarchic, believing states are self interested, and that national
security is the most important issue concerning states (Haupt, 2017, T2L1, 8 9). Many, such as John
Mearsheimer, mentioned later, use these assumptions to predict what future relations between states,
such as China and the U.S. are going to be. As mentioned before, neorealism derived from the theory
of classical realism, and though it had evolved over time, power plays the most important role in both
classical and neo realism. Neorealism holds the principle that states must look after only themselves
because the international system is anarchic. These theories come to this conclusion because, as
quoted in Essentials of International Politics, no higher power exists to defeat the

Mexican American Temple Case Study
Mỹ Sơn is a temple complex located in central Vietnam consisting of over 70 Hindu temples
constructed between the 4th to 14th century by the kings of Champa. The temples were built to
worship the god Shiva that symbolizes the father/male realm. According to the Brhat Samhita
scriptures of Hinduism, The gods always play where groves are near, rivers, mountains and springs
and in towns with pleasure gardens. Hence, Mỹ Sơn was erected within several closed valleys that
provide the watershed of the sacred Thu Bồn River. Only at Mỹ Sơn, the topography of the site s
narrow valley was used to symbolize a mandala. The spring of flowing sacred water symbolized the

Influenced by Indian artistic tradition, the religious temple complex consists of a Kalan encompassed
by several smaller shrines, auxiliary buildings and low walls. A gate tower opposite the Kalan is built
to orientate in the east west direction. In front of the gate tower stands a Mandapa, a preparatory hall
where sacred songs and dances were performed as prayers and offerings before proceeding into the
Kalan for the actual ritual. In addition, a fire tower, where objects of worship were stored, is
positioned right in front of the Kalan. This brick structure with a boat shaped roof, along with one or
two rooms and a main door is built to face north, the direction of the god of fortune, Kuvera. It

Zizek on Ideology and the Relationship Between Ideology and The Real
Slavoj Zizek is one of the leading theorists on ideology since the 1990 s and his conceptions of the
real versus the symbolic versus the imagined are of particular importance when dissecting the question
what is ideology? Zizek s critique of ideology and attempt to unpack it s inner workings is fascinating,
he is a powerful intellectual who aims to expose the fake workings of society. In this paper I will
outline Zizek s definition and approach to the study of ideology, paying particular attention to the
relationships he draws between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideology is a system, he argues, of principles, views, theories destined to convince us of its truth , yet
actually serving some unavowed particular power interest (p.10). An example Zizek presents to
illustrate this point is the way media portrayed the conflict and cause of the Bosnian war. News
coverage consisted of innumerable accounts of the histories of not only Yugoslavia but the entire
history of the Balkan s from medieval times (p.5). This incredible amount of information, of the
struggles and relations between Bosnia and other countries over decades, if not centuries, gives
audiences the impression that they must know and understand all the background information of this
issue if they are to have an opinion on it or take sides, again presenting countless hours of information
and debate on the issue. Zizek explains that although this is a sort of inversion of what we normally
constitute as ideological messaging, and it is unlike the misrepresentation and incessant demonization
of Saddam Hussein which was circulated to give justice to entering into the Iraq war, the Bosnian war
ideological messaging that took place is in fact more cunning, the over exaggerated and false
demonization of Saddam Hussein. because to put it somewhat crudely, the evocation of the
complexity of circumstances serves

Yoga s Spiritual Path Means to Join Essay
The yogas are active spiritual paths, a way for people to achieve illumination by the Divine Spark
within us all. The word yoga literally means union and is related to the English words join and yoke .
Through yoga, we unwrap the Divinity within, thereby allowing our true spiritual natures to shine
forth ever brighter. There are numerous types of yoga; here is a short explanation of some of the main
ones:
Jnana yoga is the yoga of wisdom and true knowledge. To know Brahman as one s individual Self is
Jnana. It looks into the reality about who we are and what we are experiencing and the complete
comprehension of this reality carries enlightenment. According to Shankara (c.788 820), everything is

Refers to a set of physical exercises, that contain stretching and balancing, designed to align your skin,
muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the various channels of the body,
especially the primary channel, the spine, so that energy can circulate freely.
The main Hindu beliefs are Brahman, Atman, Maya, Karma, Dharma, and Moksha. These primary
concepts are still taught today.
The word Brahman means divine reality at the center of things. Brahman itself constitutes the basic
building material of all reality, the font of all things. It is the long lasting experience that all things are
in some way holy because they originate from the same sacred fount. It is also the experience that all
things are basically one. It says that every seemingly individual reality in the world is, in reality, a
wave of the same sacred ocean of energy. There s three words that help define its nature: Brahman is
Sat, reality itself; Chit, pure consciousness; and Ananda, bliss.
Atman is sometimes translated as self , soul , or deepest self . Each individual has a soul and the soul
presents its own uniqueness and personality. At the deepest level of what you are, there is a divine
reality, a divine spirit, that everything shares. The Atman is equal with Brahman, it refers to the
experience of the sacred within oneself. It could be said that in this world, a spiritual being, the
Atman, has a human experience instead of a human being having a

Jessie Pope War Women Analysis
Masculinity and Femininity in Jessie Pope s war poems: War Girls and The Call The world wars have
greatly impacted modern British literature in the 20th century. There were many poems written about
the period of war; some showed them in a positive light and some negative. Gender roles, gender
relations on what means to be a man or a woman impacted greatly during this time. In particular with
World War I, women in large numbers took over jobs in the homeland while the men were out
fighting. Questions on what is femininity and what is masculinity were on the rise. Men were
constantly fed with the idea that they should be drafted into the war. This propaganda was seen
everywhere during this era due to the self interests of the British ... Show more content on

It represents the gender of this person who is doing the jobs like a man. That is not the whole story
because in the 5th line, this gender is called Strong, sensible, and fit, This stands out in the poem as it
follows the rule of 3 of a poem to describe the qualities of the new woman now. It is controversial to
the usual perspective of a woman since these adjectives are associated with a man more than a
woman. This exhibits that the typical views of what femininity is changed during the wartime. The
usage of the word grit in line 6 is also a word associated with masculinity but it is used in the poem to
describe women. The poem also shows femininity to be related to toil because Pope mentions a girl
who does a milk round in the rain (3). The physical hard work of the woman is to be revered
according to Pope. The imagery of not being caged or penned up anymore (7) is a strong one it
explains that the war brought redemption and freedom to women. A definitive declarative statement is
made in the 9th line of the poem, They re going to make their end up , Pope is manifesting her
confidence in the women of Britain who are serving their country by being the workforce. The shift in
the gender roles is empowering for women during the wartime and Pope associates this with
patriotism as well. The heavy van the girl is driving is especially described as heavy because women

Knight Code Of Chivalry Research Paper

my positivity amped up around those I interact with in the hopes that I can brighten their day. I know
what it s like to be sad and talk to yourself all day and have nothing seem positive.. I want to bring a
little light in people s lives if I can. Though, I am also a firm believer in the justice of karma for the
wrong doers, even though everyone does deserve to be surrounded by positivity, there must be a
balance. It is just miserable to live and function regularly when everything happening around to you
seems so negative. I will force my positivity for the wellbeing of others because it is too often then not
that I am affected heavily by emotions in a negative way, I don t want to radiate that unto others. It
makes me feel good when I radiate positivity because people receive that positivity and the positivity

The Executive Branch Is The Strongest, Most Capable, And
The executive branch is the strongest, most capable, and most important branch of government. The
president, as commander in chief, can regulate an entire country s military and have full oversight of
the most deadly weapons available. They have the power to veto bills passed by Congress. They can
also establish executive orders without the consent of Congress. Last of all, they have the power to

In addition, they can launch a nuclear attack without the approval of Congress. In 1945, President
Harry S. Truman ordered an overhead strike on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing over
200,000 people. This proves the immense power and impact that a president can have over a whole
country and its people. Having complete control over an entire country and the most powerful
weapons known to man is a huge task given to the president as commander in chief and proves
furthermore how they are the most powerful branch. Another important power of the president as
commander in chief is that they have the power to gain additional territory for the United States.
Although this has not happened recently, the power is implied from the power to make and write
treaties from Article II of the Constitution. They have the power to take over another country, attempt
to invade, or make a trade deal regarding the land or property of a country. The Louisiana Purchase
was a major example of this power being used. In 1803, Thomas Jefferson bought over 800,000
square miles of land from France. It nearly doubled the size of the U.S. Today, it has shaped the way
the U.S. is today, with the addition of 11 states in the Midwest. Because of this power, the president
can literally shape the way a country is. The majority of the U.S. was either purchased or annexed
from another country. As commander in chief, the president, as well as the Secretary of

The 2003 Invasion of Iraq began on 19 March and ended 1 May 2003 with coalition forces the United

Freedom. The United Kingdom Prime Minister at the time, Tony Blair felt that the threat of terrorism
from Iraq must be dealt with immediately, with his speech in Texas 2002 saying that the United
Kingdom must be prepared to act where weapons of mass destruction and terrorism loom over them. 1
The war ended quickly which resulted in the collation forces defeating the Iraq army and the capture

Similar Ideas Presented in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott...
Bound by different contexts, authors often use a popular medium in order to depict the discontent of
the ideas of society. This is evident in the module Texts in Time; as Blade Runner, having been written
more than one hundred years after Frankenstein is still able to reflect the ideas proposed in the latter.
Blade Runner by Ridley Scott deals with the effects of globalisation and consumerism during 1980 s.
Alternatively, the epistolary novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley deals with the kinship to the natural
world set in the Romantic Era and enlightenment period. However Blade Runner, although subjected
by a different context, also portrays a similar idea to Frankenstein; the fear of science and technology
coupled with the value of the definition of a human. Through this commonality, we are able to utilise
the values of Blade Runner in order to truly understand Shelley s purpose.
During the 1980 s, the increasing amount of industrialisation brought about a new period in time, the
Industrial Revolution. Literally revolutionising the world, the Industrial Revolution changed the way
the world was perceived, no longer an agricultural based society but instead one overrun with
globalisation and consumerism. Scott portrays this in an overindulged manner, looking at the extreme
effects to long time globalisation and consumerism. As depicted in the film, the city is subject to a
constant downpour of rain surrounded by numerous skyscrapers that effectively block out the view of

Cockroaches are one of the ancient species, it begins to be found from the Carboniferous period, about 320 million years ago [1]. It belongs to the group of Blattodea, undering the category of Inseacta. Most of us has seen cockroaches, we often see them hiding inside the dark and humid place in our home, including the kitchen, toilet or the gutter. Every time we see them, we would never be nice to them, killing them as fast as we could, we may ever hope they could become extinct. • 3. Strategic Marketing Principles Strategic Marketing Principles Introduction Being strategic when spending marketing dollars is important for any company regardless of size. A business, for this case British Airways, can only be as successful as its marketing initiatives. A company is said to be market driven when it is focused on the market that it is in and the customers who define that market (Buggie, 1993). Sometimes a company will examine the overall market they are in and try to redefine it so that they can cover a niche. British Airways is trying to focus its drive in its market so that customers look to the company as the leading premier air carrier. In order for the company to do this, they have to alter long held perceptions by changing the way that they do business. British Airways has started doing this by employing two distinct methodologies. First British Airways merged with Iberia which gives them a wider customer base, and they formed alliances with other national carriers such as Qantas and American Airlines. The company also needed to have a look that bespoke luxury, so they have also upgraded their facilities in the airports they serve (specifically Heathrow). The purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of British Airways plans to expand their business and improve their services through a strategic marketing analysis. Background British Airways became an organized airline in 1971 (British Airways, 2011). Through the years the airline has been forced to change as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Is The Eulogy In The Unknown Citizen Memories Make The Man Memories are information that the brain stores throughout people s lives. The memories of a person is what shapes their lives and leaves an impression on other people s lives as well. Without these memories, their lives would have been meaningless. In W. H. Auden s The Unknown Citizen, it is evident that memories are important to really knowing a person. In the text, a eulogy is given by a government official for a citizen whose life is unknown. The official goes throughout the eulogy expressing how much the deceased was a saint by stating different facts from different government organizations about his life (line 4). Auden uses a sarcastic eulogy given by a government official to argue that people s lives should allot to more than just facts and statistics about their lives. Auden utilizes structure to form his poem as an eulogy to show how little the speaker ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most sarcastic lines of the poem are at the end when the speaker states, Was he free? Was he happy? The question is absurd: / Had anything been wrong, we should certainly have heard, (28 29). The author was trying to present his audience with how disgraceful this eulogy was to the memory of this man. The eulogy random facts and has no personal memory of this man. The lack of personal memories not only establishes that facts do not determine what kind lives people live, but also reveals that without memories of people, people s lives would mean little to nothing. The government official proves this more by the fabrication of the companies within the poem. The speaker states, But satisfied his employers, Fudge Motors Inc. (8). The word Fudge is used to indicate that these statistics about the man is ridiculous. There are several more concocted companies throughout the poem that were to imply how little is known about the citizen and how this eulogy was not taken ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Service Learning Project Paper Service Learning Project When I began my Civics class, thinking it potentially difficult and boring, I did not initially look forward to this project. However, as I did each activity, I found myself enjoying each and every one. From sitting in a board meeting to collecting trash, I discovered something new in all of the ways I volunteered. Not only did the people I volunteered for gain something through my service, but I feel that I gained a lot as well. The first activity I completed was observing a Davidson County School Board meeting on the topic of an information breach that occurred. I took notes throughout the meeting and supported every teacher that spoke about their concerns. Collecting trash around the Ledford High School campus, both the football and baseball stadiums on two different occasions, was the next activity I completed. I then helped to paint a set for the Ledford Production of The Music Man. When the Special Olympics was held at Ledford, I decided to use that opportunity to become a buddy. I took the athlete and his family that I was paired with around to the different games that were offered, and got him water and snacks when he needed it. I was also a buddy for multiple athletes at the Miracle League of High Point. I assisted and encouraged each child as they batted, ran the bases, and played in the outfield in every game. I chose to attend the School Board meeting because I was interested to see how the release of Davidson County employee information affected their lives. • 6. Analysis Of The Death Of Venice By Thomas Mann Tadzio as an Illuminator In Thomas Mann s Death In Venice, Tadzio is likened to the sun and thus represents an illuminating force for knowing what is truly good and just and by consequence represents a higher truth. This quest for knowledge on what is good becomes apparent as Aschenbach becomes more and more infatuated with Tadzio, not in a romantic sense, but rather a sense of seeking what he believes is right, a platonic relationship which ultimately sparks Aschenbach s demise. Aschenbach s motives are somewhat muddled as he enters the second half of his life and seeks to find what is true. To do this he decides to take a vacation to Venice where he meets Tadzio. After being a rather stoic and cold person, this all melts away as he basks in Tadzio s presence as one would in the sun. Tadzio as a representation for light is why Aschenbach is so drawn to him, because he believes that the child could be the illuminating figure for him. While Tadzio himself is not the higher truth personified, he does act as the ray of light for seeing what Aschenbach s wants in his life, what he sought after since the beginning of the story. Examples of this relationship and its representations include how Tadzio is likened to Helios who is the sun giant in Greek mythology, the imagery associated with sun and Tadzio, such as Tadzio rising from the sea and how ever present he is in the environment around Aschenbach, how Tadzio is described as Aschenbach s Mirror and image suggesting that ... • 7. The Main Determinants Of Money Supply Essay The major determinants of money supply being the size of monetary base and the components that determines the money multipliers, such as income level, deposit rate, various interest rate, liquidity preferences of the people, the theory suggests that the NRB s policy has been a steady growth money supply which is reflected in the publication, the Periodic Economic Planning, of the planning commission and the Economic Review published by NRB. According to Thapa (1997), the highest growth was recorded in 1960, and the lowest growth was recorded in 1971. In 1960, the M1 and M2 monetary aggregates grew by 40.9% and reserve money (monetary base) grew by 48.8%. In 1971, the growth of M1 was 3.9% while reserve money declined by almost 1%. 1.2 Conceptual Background of the Rational Expectations Hypothesis The policy effectiveness has been a continuing debate in macroeconomics between the Classical and the Keynesians. The introduction of the rational expectation hypothesis in macroeconomics elevated the debate by differentiating policies into anticipated and unanticipated. The rational expectation hypothesis suggests that economic agents use all available information to form the future expectation. Therefore, any expected policy change will not have any impact on real macro variables as the economic agents fully incorporate the information into their expectation formation. The policy implication of this hypothesis is that the change in policy should be a surprise to have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Sustainability, Well Being, Welfare Essay Keywords: sustainability; well being; welfare 1. Introduction The term sustainability has ended up prevalent in arrangement situated exploration as a declaration of what open strategies should accomplish. The essential motivation originated from the Brundtland Report of 1987 (1). From that point forward the idea has moved in importance. This paper contends that the movement is terrible in that it darkens the genuine inconsistency which exists between long term maintainability and transient welfare. Also, the refinement between three pillars of sustainability is reasonably fluffy. We propose a definition that returns to the first sense in which the idea was expected. Notwithstanding, this paper does not profess to offer a far reaching perspective of the issue of maintainability. It displays a basic perspective of how the term is utilized as a part of approach open deliberation and in effect evaluation the arrangement of strategies utilized as a part of connected exploration to assess strategies and undertakings. 2. • 10. Comparison Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras... Mark Twain is known as a great author from his own unique style of writing. All his publications have a similarity in a certain style of his writing which makes his works of art such amazing books. Chapter 12 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County , both written by Mark Twain have many similarities in the form of figurative language, syntax, and diction. To start with, Mark Twain s figurative language helps make his story unique. He utilises a range of bizzare similes in both passages that make these stories stay true to the past and humorous. For example in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain writes, ... cottonwood thick as harrow teeth . This would be considered as one of his similes that are very unusual since many readers might not know what a harrow even is but as you can infer, that in those times people in the book would have known what he was speaking about. This shows how his bizzare similes stick to the time period of his writing. To add, in the second publication the similes Twain had integrated made the story a little more humorous to read. Twain writes, He was a different dog, his underjaw d began to stick out like the fo castle of a steamboat,... (The celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County 6). This shows how his use of similes here was humorous since Twain made fun of a dog with a large underbite. Although, his use of similes is fantastic his use of symbolism was excellent also. ... • 11. Female Sexual Offenders And Female Sex Offenders Just like most crimes, the number of female sexual offenders is much lower than the number of male sexual offenders. This is especially true about sex offenses. For a while, most people didn t believe that woman could even commit a sex related crime; besides prostitution. There is still a stigma around the topic; woman are the victims, not the offenders. This is not true though. Female sex offenders have their own category. This is because their motives and actions are different than a man s. The research done on female offenders can be bias because it is such a small amount compared to the male population of sex offenders. Woman are thought to make up less than 5% of all sexual offences (Harris, 1979). This is very small compared to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is almost half of the offenders with a drug problem and one third of them with an alcohol problem. The victims of a female s sex offender are generally younger than a man s victim. An investigation was held in Arkansas in 1999 and reported that 50% of their victims were categorized as 11 16 and 24% were in the 4 10 age range (Tewksbury, 2004, p 368). Solis and Benedek mention a study that found 60% of males who reported sexual abuse had identified a female as the offender (1993). The female offenders who abuse young boys are suggested that they have a difficult time associating with adult males and they use the boys as a substitution (Solis and Benedek, 2012). This could be because of their own trauma as a child, they do not have healthy relationships with any adult male in their life. So, they go after children. It is also pointed out that females are more likely to victimize other females. One thought on why females victimize other females is because they have a male counterpart, who is attracted to females. According to Tewksbury (2004), the female offender knew the victim: In Fromuth and Conn (1997) s study of self reported sexual perpetrators in a college population, 68% of the victims were identified as family members. Faller (1995) reported that in the sample of 40 clinically referred perpetrators, 85% were mothers and 55% abused only their own children, whereas 30% abused both their own and other s children. ... Overall, the warning labels increased enjoyment of the program containing profanity among college students. Another airing of the same program self censored (or quot;bleeped quot;) the profanity. Therefore, although program ratings have allowed viewers greater opportunity to filter their viewing, lowered norms of self censorship have perhaps broadened the material available to them. These less restrictive norms, on one hand, and more frequent labeling of material, on the other, lead us to ask how labels and self censoring affect the enjoyment and perceptions of program content by viewers. Therefore, the current study uses an experimental design to examine the effects of program labels and self censoring on the perceptions and enjoyment of viewers. First, we will discuss the possible effects of warnings and self censoring (bleeping) on viewers enjoyment and perceptions of the content. Next, we will consider possible individual differences in viewers responses to the manipulations. • 15. Evil Dead Reflection One Friday, September 29, 2017, I visited the City Theatre (inside Hockeytown Café) to watch Evil Dead: The Musical written by George Reinblatt and presented by Olympia Entertainment and Sweat Equity Studio. When I first arrived, I was greeted by the Usher who gave me a program. In the Program, there is a bolded section with the name and title of those that made the production possible. The director for this play was Jamie Warron, and the music director was Timothy Martuch. In the second and third page of the program is a section called Who s Who , which serves the purpose giving a brief description of the crew involved and their titles. In class we looked at some of the job duties for those involved in a play, and this can relate to that description of each job and individual. Evil Dead is about four college students who go on a trip for spring break to an abandoned cabin in the woods. There they find a book that helps them release some sort of evil spirit. Each of them start to get attacked by this evil spirit and killing one by one. In the performance that I witnessed, the story was told in a comedic way compared to the Evil Dead film, which is more of a scarier and serious form of the story. To me, the play seemed to have two themes, perseverance and good versus evil. Perseverance to survive from the evil being who wanted to kill all of them. One of the characters cut his arm off in order to not allow the evil spirit to take control over him. To me, the purpose of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Market Overview Croatia is a developing country situated in Southeastern Europe it has a relatively small yet complex market which plays a very vital role when it comes to political and economic stability in the Balkan region. A social mindset prevails in various parts of Croatian society. It is important to keep in mind that Croatia has recently recovered from the Homeland war just twenty two short years ago. The country has made tremendous strides towards reconstruction and recovery within the last decade. Some major setbacks the country deals with today are that the majority of Croatian income comes from government funding, social insurance, or public monopolies. Not from the revenues of truly competitive companies. Therefore, any reforms that are introduced that are in opposition to or address corruption, public overspending, or judicial inefficacy usually faces strong opposition from privileged majority on top. On a more optimistic note Croatia has a growing force of entrepreneurs who have innovative and vibrant ideas which are changing the way business in conducted in many industries in Croatia. These entrepreneurs and their businesses follow strong EU regulations and rules which make them perfect potential partners for American companies looking to expand in the region. Market Challenges Croatia s developing Economy is still after its gained independence in 1991. A number of internal problems plague Croatia s development. These include Judiciary inefficiencies infested with case back logs and a lack of expertise in commercial affairs, and a complex non transparent bureaucracy. After implementing the theories in MPM, it helped me understand MPM s market analysis of rivalry among existing competitors. To exemplify, growth can mean increase in staff employment in a company whereas it can also mean increase in production volume. • 22. Classical Realism Vs Neorealism Throughout the course of history, it had become customary to assume that a state that is fearful of others and works only to help and protect itself, is the unparalleled genius; this notion is the basis for the political theory of realism. Neorealism, developed sometime after World War II, is a reinterpretation of classical realism, which was originally developed in Ancient Greece(M AT 2017, 80). Kenneth Waltz, whose work helped the transition from realism to neorealism, believed that the structure of the international system was the most important thing to study, being that the international system is anarchic(Haupt, 2017, T2L1, 8). Neorealists have a few core assumptions, including: believing the international system is anarchic, believing states are self interested, and that national security is the most important issue concerning states (Haupt, 2017, T2L1, 8 9). Many, such as John Mearsheimer, mentioned later, use these assumptions to predict what future relations between states, such as China and the U.S. are going to be. As mentioned before, neorealism derived from the theory of classical realism, and though it had evolved over time, power plays the most important role in both classical and neo realism. Neorealism holds the principle that states must look after only themselves because the international system is anarchic. News coverage consisted of innumerable accounts of the histories of not only Yugoslavia but the entire history of the Balkan s from medieval times (p.5). This incredible amount of information, of the struggles and relations between Bosnia and other countries over decades, if not centuries, gives audiences the impression that they must know and understand all the background information of this issue if they are to have an opinion on it or take sides, again presenting countless hours of information and debate on the issue. Zizek explains that although this is a sort of inversion of what we normally constitute as ideological messaging, and it is unlike the misrepresentation and incessant demonization of Saddam Hussein which was circulated to give justice to entering into the Iraq war, the Bosnian war ideological messaging that took place is in fact more cunning, the over exaggerated and false demonization of Saddam Hussein. because to put it somewhat crudely, the evocation of the complexity of circumstances serves ... • 37. Anne Bradstreet Anne Bradstreet poem The Prologue was an interesting poem. This is one of her most intellectually poems she has written. I like this poem by Bradstreet because it shows off her work as a writer and poet. The theme in the poem The Prologue is global and historical context that covers feminisms, Christianity, and psychology. I like how she writes about feminisms and her showing that even though she is a female, she can write poems like men do. Her use of meter and rhyme is nearly perfect and it shows the simple truth she puts in her pieces. Also she showed her true feelings and it helps readers understand what she is feeling and saying in her work. Another poem that Bradstreet wrote that I like is Contemplations. This is evident in the module Texts in Time; as Blade Runner, having been written more than one hundred years after Frankenstein is still able to reflect the ideas proposed in the latter. Blade Runner by Ridley Scott deals with the effects of globalisation and consumerism during 1980 s. Alternatively, the epistolary novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley deals with the kinship to the natural world set in the Romantic Era and enlightenment period.
