The Brink
Through their usage of scene cutting and actor positioning, the director of The Brink conveys the
message that when faced with the possibility of failure, the biggest factor holding a person back is
themselves and their refusal to take the metaphorical leap.
The director s decision to cut from the metaphorical scene to reality at times of intense emotion
creates a parallel that provides the basis for the understanding of the man s internal conflict, which
creates the film s thesis.Because of the dialogue and atmosphere at which the metaphorical situation is
filmed, it is easier to understand the reasons behind the emotions captured within it compared to those
captured within his reality. The director uses this to their advantage by choosing to build the
metaphorical scene to a point of high emotion, and then from there cutting to a reality in which the
same emotion is prominently displayed. The prior understanding of the metaphorical situation is then
translated to the reality through the parallels. In the film, the metaphorical situation escalates to a point
a confrontation between the protagonist and his alter ego, in which the alter ego tries to dissuade him
from attempting to cross a seemingly endless abyss. With previous information, the viewer knows that
there is salvation on the other side, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

prevent the man from attempting to cross the abyss. While, the shot is neutral and the camera
techniques, such as angle, award no power to the scene, the positions in which the men are situated are
revealing as to a deeper meaning. From previous analysis, it was determined that the alter ego
represented in a literal sense, the self doubt in the protagonist. Through the positioning of the actors,
the director has successfully shown visually the self doubt standing in the way of the protagonists

Aromatherapy Research Paper
Aromatherapy is the practice of using the volatile oils from plants for therapeutic wellbeing. Used by
many ancient cultures, with the first discovery dating back more than 6000 years ago in Iraq. The
name aromatherapy was created by the French chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse (1881 1950) whilst
studying and working in his family perfumery business. Similar in nature to herbs, they have complex
chemical components that can stimulate the body to trigger a healing response. These essential oils
can be utilised in massage, inhalations, compresses, added to baths and used for toxic free cleaning.
Chakra Balancing originating from ancient Indian traditions, the chakras are the basic energy centres
of the body. Derived from a Sanskrit word that means wheel . there are 7 main chakras which are
aligned vertically from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The chakras help to circulate the
vital life force energy throughout our bodies and each zone correlates with different areas of the body.
When any of these energy portals are blocked it will affect the smooth flow of energy through the
body and can present as emotional, spiritual or physical disease.

Early Stages of The Industrial Revolution In Britain:
How Factories That Burned Coal Created Air Pollution
In the long process of human history, with the occurrence of the industrial revolution, Britain was the
first country to go through industrialisation. People give high marks on this industrial revolution,
considering that it marks the beginning of a new era in human history; has passed the previous
agricultural economy and has lead the human has into the industrial age. Today, however, when we
think back to the British modern industrial revolution and the industrialisation process, we can find
out that it has not only brought in endless welfare, but also was a great failure ... Show more content

II. Using machines excluded the restriction of all kinds of natural conditions and also value added use
of plants. III. With the expansion of factories, some large scale factories raised their productivity
gradually. Take cotton textile as an example, the invention of the spinning frame by Sir Richard
Arkwright and the invention of the spinning mule by Samuel Crompton helped to raise productivity
rapidly. If you wanted to process 100 pounds of cotton, you could use India hand spinning labour,
which needed 50,000 hours; But you could use spinning mule with 100 spindles and only need 1,000
hours. Or you could use the steam engine spinning mule and only need 300 hours. In 1825, Roberts
Loom s self acting spinning mule needed just 135 hours. IV. A factory owner aimed to make the
maximisation of profit his most important goal. Extensive production increased personal wealth
rapidly and satisfied people s desire for money.
Just because of the industry system, factory owners have an inner drive to despite everything expand
the production scale just to earn more profit and this can be implemented and amplified with machines
material strength. Therefore, in the 1830s, textiles were built in an astonishing speed. The ships of the
English swarm like flies; their printed calicoes cover the whole earth . Not only did occurred
frantically build factories, they also invested to build railroads. In a hundred years of industrial
revolution, just as Marx

What Are The Four Major Developmental Theories
Introduction
Developmental theories help teachers in many ways to enrich their teaching and student s learning
process. Therefore, it is very important teachers to apply the key ideas of these developmental theories
in their teaching career to the betterment of students.
This document will present a brief description of four major developmental theories and will focus on
how these theories can be applied in my real teaching world as a middle school teacher. Four major
developmental theories
Though many theorists have brought the study of human development, there are about four major
important theories that are in use effective (Oswalt, Major Child Development Theories and Theorists,
2007). They are:

Piaget s stages of cognitive development theory
Jean Piaget has brought a cognitive developmental theory with four stages;
Sensorimotor (birth to 2 years), Preoperational (2 to 7 years), Concrete operational (7 to 11 years), and
formal operational (12 years to adulthood). In
Piaget s view, throughout these four stages all children develop their thinking according to how they
see the world around them (Oswalt, Jean Piaget and Child Development
, 2007).
Lawrence Kohlberg s theory of moral development
In Kohlberg s moral development theory, he discussed about the process which people learn how to
identify and differentiate what is right and what is wrong.
In his theory, he presented main three levels with total six stages. They

Napoleon s Character Traits
Three of the character traits I describe Napoleon are hypocrite, weak, and a great leader. Napoleon
announce that the windmill was to be built after all... Why then asked somebody, had he spoken
strongly against it? (Orwell pg. 51 52). Although at first, Napoleon strongly opposed to Snowball s
idea of the windmill, he later on ordered the animals of the creation of the windmill. Without his
subordinate, Squealer, the animals would have suspected something about him. Once again the
animals were conscious of a vague uneasiness. Never to have any dealings with human beings... The

Ode To Joy Beethoven
What is the purpose of life? Making money, travel around the world, or peaceful? It is about all of
these three reasons or more than that, and the best word to describe about our purposed of life is joy .
Why people want to get rich, why people like to travel around the world, and why people love
peaceful? Because they are looking for the word joy . Maybe, the regular people like us could not
fully understand the word joy , but Ludwig van Beethoven, who is one of greatest world composer,
would completely understand the world joy , which let him wrote the Ninth symphony with the song
Ode to Joy . I am feel so lucky when North Carolina symphony brought the Beethoven s Ninth
symphony right on time for my music concert review.

The four movement had written with presto allegro assai type. It began with fast melody, strong and
loud. Sometime in the beginning of the movement, I heard the similar sound with the first movement,
second movement, and the third movement. Would Beethoven actually have inserted a tiny piece of
music from each movement into this final movement to recall for the entire of symphony? Before the
movement get to the point of choral, there is a same melody keep playing with different tempo. It was
louder and louder until the sudden point, it just repeats the same melody and same tempo. The
moment baritone sang was surprise me. His voice is strong, deep, warm, and loud; the sound from all
the instruments was not overwhelm him. The instruments are a perfect background to make his voice
become brighter. Soprano voice is another voice make me love. I like the way she sang, the sound
from her voice could every other voices in the concert hall. Soprano voice is extremely high, but it
does not make me feel uncomfortable. She also knows how to control her voice to make it implement
into the group of people to make the movement become remarkable. Once the last piece of music end,
there is a longest clap I had ever seen in my life. The audience appreciated for all the work of these

Cyber Security And Information Technology
With this being a small section of the overall interview a lot was played to the bear of reality of how
much still needs to be learned. With the point about our nation, intellectual property, cyber warfare,
and attacks on financial institutions. This was a video recording from 2013 about situations happening
during that time. Not being able to see into the future of what would happen what still needs to be
learned and what has worked.
With the point on Sharing information back and forth with the private sector how dose one side or the
other make this workable without stepping on others feet so to say. The 1st hurdle would be forming

We will always need to protect our boarders of this country from attack whether big or small. The
point in the interview was about how do you shore up the boarders without closing them. It was
brought up about the limited resources and using more of a collaborated response with government
resources already working the areas. This would include the US Customs and Border Protection,
Coast Guard that can be operated under the US Navy during war times and Homeland security during
piece times, and the Navy.
These resources are to be allocated by the risk perceived in certain areas that could change based on
information. One of our biggest challenges is to keep America open and stop people that want to
inflict harm to it from getting in. With this being done it was also mentioned, we should still look to
other resources that are able to assist like all ocean ports to share information on what vessels are
carrying and where they are headed. This also needs to be moved internationally to help identify
questionable ships before getting to a United States port.
How to deal with cyber attacks and hacking of public and private sector information. This seems to be
on the side burner since this video. We have had an almost monthly hack into some so called safe
citizen information. So like it was mentioned in the video the private sector and government need to
form a workable information sharing to reduce

Why Is Brooks-Powell A National Hero
The year 1908 is where it all starts, the beginning of adventures to becoming a boy scout. Having the
courage to helping the country being honored to serve and protect as well staying loyal to the king.
Many times in history great empires fall under those who cannot protect their king and who would
give up rather than help protect what is rightfully theirs. Robert Baden Powell was a prime example of
showing how to be as a scout, trying to be a good leader in the country to follow as most kids looked
up to scouts as role models. His teachings brought many young inspired boys to follow in his footsteps
to lead the country in a better direction. Laws were huge part to what a scout s intentions should be

The reason why he was is famous was because his 217 defense of Mafeking in the South African War.
After his Aids to Scouting caught on with a younger audience, boys had started to cherished his
lessons on tracking and observing. This had inspired, Baden Powell to write a nonmilitary field
standard for adolescents that would help them learn the importance of good deeds. Baden Powell took
a diverse group of 21 adolescents to Brownsea Island in Doresetshire. Where they had set up a camp
for fortnight., He taught them basic skills on camping, observation, deduction, woodcraft, chivalry;
Chivalry was most important to Baden Powell. This was very successful for him and his workers; he
had set up a central Boy Scouts office and at the end of 1908, there were 60,000 Boy scouts. On
September 1909, was the first national Boy Scout meeting and it was held at the Crystal Palace in
London. 10,000 boy scouts showed up and also a group of girl scouts. Later on in 1910, Baden Powell
organized Girl Guides as a separate group, How the American version of the Boy Scouts came about
was in an event that happened in London in 1909, boy s scouts were trained to help and not accept
money as an award. The organization soon spread through the country. The effect he had on scouts,
where he had them agree to give their life for the kings; being able to represents and honour the people
ahead of them, showing their ability to becoming someone of true commitment and not caring for the
recognition but for the respect of people

A World Divided by Those Who Can Afford Technology and...
Imagine a world divided by those who can afford technology and those who cannot. Those that have
access to technology are the richest in the world, and those that do not are stuck in poverty with no
way to improve their economic status. It sounds like the starting lines of a Hollywood movie but it is a
growing issue in America and abroad. The digital divide is the divide or gap between people who have
access to technology and those that do not. The divide is creating problems for schools who require
more and more assignments to be done on a computer. Also, having the internet is having the power of
information and knowledge that not everyone has the ability to access. Other countries suffer from the
digital divide at a staggering percentage compared to US, UK and Europe. (Crawford) In the United
States the ability to get internet access is usually limited to where you live. There are many homes in
the US where there is not reliable internet access. There are elementary schools that require papers,
homework and research to be done on computers. The students that do not have easy access to a
computer will have a strong disadvantage over those that do. Schools are getting better and more
advanced computer labs but not all students can stay after school to complete their homework, if they
are required to take the bus. In 1995 the Commerce Department published its findings on the digital
divide. They found geographic, economic and racial gaps between

Depending on the job, benefits can differentiate a, by attracting top talent. The days are diminishing

Equity compensation is fundamentally non monetary pay that represents ownership in a company.
This type of compensation method can include various options, stock, and performance shares. The
equity based reward system enables employees to benefit in the organization s profits. This reward
program supports the placement of employee financial interest, in comparison to the business, enticing
employees to well invested in the company s future. Basically, the value the company holds, and its
stocks will rise due to employee performance, which allows employees in return reap the benefits in
the future. Equity based rewards is effective in various ways. Employers who do hold stock, will gain
a greater connection with the company versus just being a shared owner. With time, this may give
employees authority to acquire control, once working for a company for a long period of time. When
this option is applied, employees eventually gain the right to regulate this type of compensation. A,
even greater reward for the company, is that it reinforces their decision to stay with the company long
term. Although, employers may use this reward tactic to attract and retain key players, however, when
there is not much talent to choose from, it can also provide concrete commitment. Differed from
equity based reward system, some employers may use a more creative approach when designing a
benefit package. Some employees may not yet, realize the benefit of earning a

Blockade Of Virginia Essay
On the morning of march 8 1862 the confederate ironclad CSS. Virginia steamed out of its port at
Norfolk Virginia and towards the union blockade. The goal of the Virginia s commander Franklin
Buchanan was to break the blockade of Norfolk Harbor which held one of the largest naval bases in
the Americas. At about 2 pm she spotted the USS Cumberland. Buchanan ordered the ship to ram the
Cumberland with its 1500 pound ram which lodged itself in the cumberlands bow completely
shredding it s hull. The cumberland began to sink rapidly with the virginia still logged in its bow. The
Virginia managed to pull herself free but in the process the iron ram broke off and sank. Not knowing
this the nearby USS congress a nearby frigate attempted to take the fight to shallow water but in the
process ran herself aground. The now helpless congress came under fire from the virginia s 9 inch
guns which ripped the frigate apart. The congress then raised a white flag and the Virginias captain
came above deck to accept but a musket ball from shore hit him in the arm. The now angry Captain
Buchanan ordered the Virginia to fire anti crew shots at the now barely afloat Congress. At around

Goldilocks Affirmative Defense
Goldilocks has admitted to having committed the act of murder and burglary, however, she asserts
affirmative defenses that would exonerate her actions from criminal liability. Affirmative dense brings
to light danger for the defense because once admitting the act the defendants have the burden to, start
matters off by putting in some evidence in support of their justification or excuse defenses (Samaha,
2011). In addition, the burden of production will shift to the defense and it is now the prosecution s
job to cause doubt upon the defense s case. In Goldilocks case of a justification defense this would
involve her use of self defense and its necessity being that under the circumstances, it was the right
thing to do (Samaha, 2011). Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For an attack to be considered self defense it must apply to four requirements. The first is unprovoked
attacks in which the defender has to have not started or provoked the attack. In Goldilocks case this is
held because she was attempting to leave when Prince Charming saw and forcibly locked her inside.
The second requirement is necessity which is, also known as the choice of evils, reflects popular
moral intuitions and common sense: sometimes, breaking the rules is the right indeed, the only thing
to do in order to avoid a greater evil (Bergelson, 2012). In Goldilocks case this choice of evils was a
fact in both acts the burglary where she was given a choice to either starve to death or break into a
home so she can eat. The other instance was the Prince Charming reaching for his walking stick that
he uses to constantly physically abuse her and the choice to defend herself. The third element of self
defense is proportionality which is the ability of a defender to use deadly force if no deadly force is
not enough to repel the oncoming attack with no excessive force (Samaha, 2011). In Goldilocks case
Prince Charming is not only bigger and stronger than her she was in no state where she could run
away or hide she had no choice. The last requirement is reasonable belief which is the belief that it
was necessary to use deadly force to repel the imminent deadly attack (Samaha, 2011). In Goldilocks
case she was in a position where she was going to have to fight for her life and the only way should
would have made it out alive was by using the

Brave New World Analysis
In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, Bernard Marx discovers the vivid emotion of nature through
his visit to the Savage Reservation, America s last remnant of unadulterated wilderness and humanity
in a bleak, dystopian world. Writing critically on society, Huxley comments on the degradation of
morals, and the rise of a superfluous and perpetually distracted, albeit technologically advanced,
world, amid the dying influence of nature. Similarly, in his 2008 book, Last Child in the Woods,
Richard Louv expresses concern over the widening divide between people and nature, in particular
children and nature. Citizens in Huxley s novel are infatuated with dazzlingly visual entertainment
machines, which provide transitory pleasure; likewise, Americans today have forgone nature for
equally trivial technological pursuits. Louv s sharp critique on the bastardization of nature for short
sighted whims, and his concern about the effects of isolating children from nature, are achieved and
expressed through exploring science s relationship to nature, several subsequent illustrative examples,
and ironic social commentary through these techniques, Louv calls for action to preserve posterity s
interest in and exposure to nature s romantic beauty.
Louv s reportage on the State University of New York s scientific achievement and inclusion of
commentary by Richtel jointly reveal society s enthusiasm about synthetic nature, and thus by
extension the perceived unimportance of true nature.

4. Methodology
4.1. Analytical Framework (Generalized Spatial Two Stage Least Square: GS2SLS)
Hedonic price model has been developed and widely used to identify the factors explaining housing
prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional two statistical issues such as
endogeneity between land use and housing price and spatial autocorrelation between housing prices.
First, endogeneity should be carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing
prices because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For example,
better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices because such land use
features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. Previous
studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially affected by neighboring housing prices
or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated
values can be biased and inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use
generalized spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and
spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations;
P=λWP+αL ̂+βX+u (5) u=ρWu+ϵ Because the hedonic price model generally uses a log form of
housing prices, our final empirical model used in this study is expressed as the following equations;
ln⁡
(P)=λW[ln(P)]+αL ̂+βX+u (6) u=ρWu+ϵ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix
A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any spatial units. It has
two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and distance based weight matrix.
Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement, distance based weight matrix is more
appropriate when the size of spatial units is irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). Hence, the
spatial weight matrix used in this analysis is expressed as the follows;
W_ij={■(1 if d_ij≤C @0 if d_ij C or i=j)┤ (7)
where C denotes a distance cutoff

Ridley Scott s Use of Mise-en-Scene to Convey Atmosphere...
There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it
would vanish, it was so fragile.
The film Gladiator was released in 2000. A thrilling action film, it was a huge success, scooping five
Oscars and earning over $427 million dollars. Sir Ridley Scott who directed the film already had many
great films to his name, such as Alien , Blade Runner and American Gangster , so it was no surprise
when this film became one of the highest earners of the year 2000. The mise en scene used throughout
was, perhaps, behind the genius that made this film as much of a success today as it was nine years
ago.
An example of this in the opening sequence is the music. Beginning calm and gently, the ... Show

There is a close up of his face, which allows the viewer to see every emotion, which adds an essence
of vulnerability to a character that is more often than not, perceived as the complete opposite. It is also
used to emphasise the fact that Maximus is the character the film will be based around. Following the
close up, there is a shot of a robin sitting on the branch of a tree, after a short while it flies away,
perhaps sensing danger. The shot is then back to Maximus, who is smiling sadly, possibly at the
thought of the robin being able to fly away from it all, when he can t. The way that mise en scene has
been used to depict a slight fear in the character of Maximus, adds contrast to his personality, which in
turn adds depth, leaving the audience feeling able to connect to him. The music in this scene makes it
almost haunting as it creates a calm yet uneasy atmosphere. Maximus is wearing gold in this which,
not only continues the theme of gold, but also represents his authority. The combination of this strong,
powerful figure being slightly fearful at what lies ahead, adds to the uneasy atmosphere. The lighting
in the sequence is also a lot darker than the previous which adds to the implication that the atmosphere
is about to change, this along with the non diegetic sounds like the wind blowing and the distant sound
of birds, help create a really dramatic, prominent sequence which leads on

The Inevitability Of Failure Summary
Summary of Article The Inevitability of Failure: The Flawed Assumption of
Security in Modern Computing Environments
The article, which addresses security loopholes in modern computing environments, by Loscocco et al
highlights what is and has been being done security wise in the past and how secure these
implementations were and going forward what should be done to ensure in depth security which
guarantees system wide security (1998). The article first explains features of secure operating system
and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security ultimately failed
to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then continued with general
examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the application space with no or little
support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to attacks such as tampering,
bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to support the evidence that building
security in the application space without secure operating system is meaningless. The article raised
concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network authentication service, IPSEC and SSL
network security protocols and firewall. The paper finally put an interesting remark that security
implemented in application space without secure operating system is like building a house in a pile of
sand and it also emphasized that secure operating system without better security on the

to mention how this even applies to the adult world where University professorships are the most

that American society creates. 2. Along with Fridman s statement, he includes the example as such to

The close up on Frankenstein as he speaks his final words focuses all our attention on him. We
suddenly have a feeling of anger towards the monster as he has just tortured a suffering man to death.
The situation here is that creator has been destroyed by his creation. The film then tries to make us feel
sorry for the monster. This is shown during the scene in which Captain Walton comes down into his
cabin shortly after Frankenstein s death after hearing a groan from below deck and finds the creature
weeping over the corpse of the recently deceased scientist. Walton asks the creature what he is and he
answers with he was my father. This reply starts to build up our sympathy for the monster as he has
just lost his father . This scene tries to increase the sympathy successfully when the creature also says
he never gave me a name. This adds to the sympathy by making us feel guilty that this creature
towards whom we first felt anger doesn t even have a name. At this point the scene changes to the
funeral of Frankenstein and we can see that the creature stands away from captain Walton and his
men. This emphasises his loneliness and difference to mankind. This depiction of the monster s
loneliness is given greater depth when he says, I am done with man in his reply to Walton s request for
him to come with

Education, Communication, And Evolution Of Human...
With the improved living conditions, healthcare, communication, and evolution of human intelligence,
technological advancement in the world today has grown to unprecedented levels. For example, as a
result of technology, patients can remotely interact with medics located in different parts of the world
through telehealth/telemedicine. In the field of education, students do not necessarily need to visit
libraries to access books; there are several soft copies of books online that they can access from the
comfort of their desktop computers, laptops or even mobile phones. On a more advanced level,
learning does not necessarily have to occur only through the reading of books and other traditionally
accepted academic sources. The internet is awash with educative information which is even more up
to date. In her article Project Classroom Makeover, Davidson discusses the potential shift in paradigm
presented by technological advancement in the field of education. She argues that with technological
advancement, it is no longer necessary to have students sit in class and wait to be guided, instructed,
and examined by expertise. On the other side, Sherry Turkle discusses the human machine interaction
in her work Selections from Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from
Each Other as an aspect of the changing paradigm. Nafisi s article Selection from Reading Lolita in

Analysis: Bach Suite No. 3 in D major
The instruments used in the piece are: * Trumpet 1 * Trumpet 2 * Trumpet 3 * Timpani * Oboe 1 *
Oboe 2 * Violin 1 * Violin 2 * Viola * Continuo Harpsichord or Double Bass
Why this piece is typically baroque
This is piece is baroque as it includes many of the baroque characteristics: * Perfect Cadence!! In the
concept Pitch, the perfect cadence is very obvious at the end of the sections and phrases change from
the dominant to the tonic. * Duration the rhythmic pattern heard at the start of each gavotte, is
reiterated many times throughout the piece. This also links to Pitch the opening melody of the piece is

The phrases are generally 8 beats long extending over 3 the last two beats of the first bar and the first
two beats of the third bar( in the excerpt to the right).
Throughout Section A, there is no syncopation all notes fall on the beat.
Texture The texture is homophonic throughout the whole of Section A. There are three layers of sound
in the Section A. The first is the melody played by the violins and trumpets. This is the layer of sound
which is most prominent throughout A. The second is the timpani and viola part. This is the softest
layer throughout the section. It provides harmony to the melody, using the notes of the D major chord.
The last layer is the continuo bass It provides accompaniment and bass.
The harmonic rhythm is not very steady as the chords only change in bars 7, 10 and 11. The chord
changes from D to A and then from A to E and E to A (shown in the musical excerpt). These chord
changes are changes from either the dominant to the tonic or the tonic to the dominant, showing the
typical barque chord changes.
Through adding trumpets, bars 1 3 and bars 5 7 are the densest of Section A. This highlights the main
repeated motif. Bars 3 5 and 7 11 are softer as these are the less important phrases of the section.
Section A1 bars 12 27
This Section is called A1, because it uses similar rhythms and pitch throughout the Section. The
structure of the section is however not the same to section A as there are various key changes

Distributor Relations The perceived subjection to pressure tactics and the lack of belief in WICS
products amongst distributors is an ongoing promotional issue that must be immediately addressed. As
well, the combination of WICS current high minimum buy ins and lack of communication between
SSDs and management level WICS staff has yielded an environment retardant to growth for WICS
products. WICS refusal to grow geographically with its respective SSDs is limiting both to SSD

Reflection Of The Double Helix
The Double Helix, written by James D. Watson, is an autobiographical portrayal of the race to
discover the molecular structure DNA. The characters throughout the book consist of Francis Crick,
Maurice Wilkins, Linus Pauling, Peter Pauling, Rosalind Franklin, and Erwin Chargaff. Crick was
Watson s partner in the discovery of DNA. Maurice Wilkins worked at King s College in London and
made Watson s interest in DNA more prominent. Linus Pauling was a chemist at Caltech in California
and was intensely close to beating Watson and Crick to the figuring out the structure of DNA.
Rosalind Franklin worked under Maurice Wilkins at King s College faced gender bias as a woman. Sir
Lawrence Bragg was the Director of the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge and the superior of Crick

bonding of base pairs. Lastly, Peter Pauling gave Watson and Crick their last piece of evidence to
identify the double helix. The story was narrated by James Watson, who earned his PhD in Zoology at
Harvard.
The book began by Watson explaining his co workers by giving his experiences with them. He
explains how he himself ended up at the Cavendish Lab in Cambridge and met Francis. Watson is only
interested in studying things he finds fascinating, with little to no education or interest in mathematics

The And The Doctrine Of Salvation
Soteriology or the Doctrine of Salvation is perhaps the grandest and greatest them in Scripture. If we
look at our world it s easy to see man s condition in sin. Mankind is completely helpless when the
message of salvation is ignored. Our world remains shattered and town by the condition of sin, but
God s gracious rescue plan through salvation and Jesus Christ will redeem us all and provide a
solution to man s problems. () This union with Christ is called the magical exchange in which Christ
assumes our debts and we inherit his wealth so that nothing (Horton pg.271) will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ro 8:39) (Horton pg. 323 324) Let s visit the different
layers of salvation.
In our textbook, Horton starts with the blessing of Justification. God justifies the wicked. Justification
is a legal act, wherein God deems the sinner righteous on the basis of Christ s righteousness. Horton
tells us on pg. 280, God justifies the wicked not those who have done their best yet have fallen short,
those who might at least be judged acceptable because of the sincerity, but those who, at the very
moment of being pronounced righteous, are in themselves unrighteous. This means full repentance,
which is defined as such, as a change of mind, or a conversion from sin to God. And the
relinquishment of any practice from the conviction that has offended God. When we accept salvation
we are also testifying to God that we are a changed person from

This study could be valuable because it offers information on how the population has and could
change over the years. You can take this and technically watch population changes. If the population
in the area is on the decline, it might not be smart to invest because there would be a minimal amount
of people in the area to consume the product. If the population is on the rise, that would be a positive
indication. Basically showing that the area is growing and that shows a good sign for investing. This
information costs $1,500.
Third is a study that investigates Coors market share estimates for 2000 through 2005. This looks into
the number of gallons of the brand that are consumed locally and nationally. This is important because
it shows if anyone in the area is already consuming the product. If people are already consuming the
product it could be a good investment because you already have a market established. If not, you
could take the gamble which would be to basically trying to go into the new area and try to establish
some sort of presence for your brand. This information costs $2,000.
Fourth is a study focusing on estimates for Liquor and Beer licenses in the area for 2000 through
2005. This information could be valuable because in order for the alcoholic beverage to be sold in the
area, you must have establishments that have Liquor and Beer licenses. If no one in the

Barack Clinton And Donald Trump Essay
In the beginning, God said, Let there be poverty, and there was poverty. Although this is obviously
false, poverty has been a growing problem in the United States since its founding in 1776. For
centuries, presidents have been conjuring up ways to cure this ongoing headache in our society with
policies and procedures that have been either somewhat successful or a complete failure. This year, on
November 8th, Americans will choose the next candidate who will try to defeat this problem once
again. The 2016 presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, have drastically different
views on how to attack poverty in America. Trump believes in the system of trickle down economics ,
while Clinton seeks to raise the federal minimum wage while taxing the rich in order to create a more
fair economy. After comparing the policies of both candidates, I have concluded Hillary Clinton s
policies will more effectively address the problem of poverty in America.
In order to more clearly understand the severity of poverty in our nation, we must first look back to
the source of the issue. With the start of The Great Depression in the 1920s, economic downturn was
at it s worst. After the Stock Market Crash of 1929, millions of investors on Wall Street were
uprooted. This caused consumer spending to drastically decline over the next several years. With this
decrease in consumer spending, nearly 15 million Americans were laid off and half of the country s
banks failed. President

  • 2. The Brink Through their usage of scene cutting and actor positioning, the director of The Brink conveys the message that when faced with the possibility of failure, the biggest factor holding a person back is themselves and their refusal to take the metaphorical leap. The director s decision to cut from the metaphorical scene to reality at times of intense emotion creates a parallel that provides the basis for the understanding of the man s internal conflict, which creates the film s thesis.Because of the dialogue and atmosphere at which the metaphorical situation is filmed, it is easier to understand the reasons behind the emotions captured within it compared to those captured within his reality. The director uses this to their advantage by choosing to build the metaphorical scene to a point of high emotion, and then from there cutting to a reality in which the same emotion is prominently displayed. The prior understanding of the metaphorical situation is then translated to the reality through the parallels. In the film, the metaphorical situation escalates to a point a confrontation between the protagonist and his alter ego, in which the alter ego tries to dissuade him from attempting to cross a seemingly endless abyss. With previous information, the viewer knows that there is salvation on the other side, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From previous analysis, it was determined that the alter ego represented in a literal sense, the self doubt in the protagonist. Through the positioning of the actors, the director has successfully shown visually the self doubt standing in the way of the protagonists attempts at reaching ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those that have access to technology are the richest in the world, and those that do not are stuck in poverty with no way to improve their economic status. It sounds like the starting lines of a Hollywood movie but it is a growing issue in America and abroad. The digital divide is the divide or gap between people who have access to technology and those that do not. The divide is creating problems for schools who require more and more assignments to be done on a computer. Also, having the internet is having the power of information and knowledge that not everyone has the ability to access. Other countries suffer from the digital divide at a staggering percentage compared to US, UK and Europe. (Crawford) In the United States the ability to get internet access is usually limited to where you live. There are many homes in the US where there is not reliable internet access. There are elementary schools that require papers, homework and research to be done on computers. The students that do not have easy access to a computer will have a strong disadvantage over those that do. The second requirement is necessity which is, also known as the choice of evils, reflects popular moral intuitions and common sense: sometimes, breaking the rules is the right indeed, the only thing to do in order to avoid a greater evil (Bergelson, 2012). Brave New World Analysis In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, Bernard Marx discovers the vivid emotion of nature through his visit to the Savage Reservation, America s last remnant of unadulterated wilderness and humanity in a bleak, dystopian world. Writing critically on society, Huxley comments on the degradation of morals, and the rise of a superfluous and perpetually distracted, albeit technologically advanced, world, amid the dying influence of nature. Similarly, in his 2008 book, Last Child in the Woods, Richard Louv expresses concern over the widening divide between people and nature, in particular children and nature. Citizens in Huxley s novel are infatuated with dazzlingly visual entertainment machines, which provide transitory pleasure; likewise, Americans today have forgone nature for equally trivial technological pursuits. Louv s sharp critique on the bastardization of nature for short sighted whims, and his concern about the effects of isolating children from nature, are achieved and expressed through exploring science s relationship to nature, several subsequent illustrative examples, and ironic social commentary through these techniques, Louv calls for action to preserve posterity s interest in and exposure to nature s romantic beauty. Louv s reportage on the State University of New York s scientific achievement and inclusion of commentary by Richtel jointly reveal society s enthusiasm about synthetic nature, and thus by extension the perceived unimportance of true nature. ... Analytical Framework (Generalized Spatial Two Stage Least Square: GS2SLS) Hedonic price model has been developed and widely used to identify the factors explaining housing prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional two statistical issues such as endogeneity between land use and housing price and spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. First, endogeneity should be carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing prices because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For example, better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices because such land use features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. Previous studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially affected by neighboring housing prices or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated values can be biased and inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use generalized spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations; P=λWP+αL ̂+βX+u (5) u=ρWu+ϵ Because the hedonic price model generally uses a log form of housing prices, our final empirical model used in this study is expressed as the following equations; ln⁡ (P)=λW[ln(P)]+αL ̂+βX+u (6) u=ρWu+ϵ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any spatial units. It has two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and distance based weight matrix. Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement, distance based weight matrix is more appropriate when the size of spatial units is irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). The article first explains features of secure operating system and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security ultimately failed to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then continued with general examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the application space with no or little support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to attacks such as tampering, bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to support the evidence that building security in the application space without secure operating system is meaningless. The article raised concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network authentication service, IPSEC and SSL network security protocols and firewall. • 27. Education, Communication, And Evolution Of Human... With the improved living conditions, healthcare, communication, and evolution of human intelligence, technological advancement in the world today has grown to unprecedented levels. For example, as a result of technology, patients can remotely interact with medics located in different parts of the world through telehealth/telemedicine. In the field of education, students do not necessarily need to visit libraries to access books; there are several soft copies of books online that they can access from the comfort of their desktop computers, laptops or even mobile phones. On a more advanced level, learning does not necessarily have to occur only through the reading of books and other traditionally accepted academic sources. The internet is awash with educative information which is even more up to date. In her article Project Classroom Makeover, Davidson discusses the potential shift in paradigm presented by technological advancement in the field of education. She argues that with technological advancement, it is no longer necessary to have students sit in class and wait to be guided, instructed, and examined by expertise. On the other side, Sherry Turkle discusses the human machine interaction in her work Selections from Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each Other as an aspect of the changing paradigm. The phrases are generally 8 beats long extending over 3 the last two beats of the first bar and the first two beats of the third bar( in the excerpt to the right). Throughout Section A, there is no syncopation all notes fall on the beat. Texture The texture is homophonic throughout the whole of Section A. There are three layers of sound in the Section A. The first is the melody played by the violins and trumpets. This is the layer of sound which is most prominent throughout A. The second is the timpani and viola part. This is the softest layer throughout the section. It provides harmony to the melody, using the notes of the D major chord. The last layer is the continuo bass It provides accompaniment and bass. The harmonic rhythm is not very steady as the chords only change in bars 7, 10 and 11. The chord changes from D to A and then from A to E and E to A (shown in the musical excerpt). These chord changes are changes from either the dominant to the tonic or the tonic to the dominant, showing the typical barque chord changes. Through adding trumpets, bars 1 3 and bars 5 7 are the densest of Section A. This highlights the main repeated motif. Bars 3 5 and 7 11 are softer as these are the less important phrases of the section. Section A1 bars 12 27 This Section is called A1, because it uses similar rhythms and pitch throughout the Section. Distributor Relations The perceived subjection to pressure tactics and the lack of belief in WICS products amongst distributors is an ongoing promotional issue that must be immediately addressed. As well, the combination of WICS current high minimum buy ins and lack of communication between SSDs and management level WICS staff has yielded an environment retardant to growth for WICS products. WICS refusal to grow geographically with its respective SSDs is limiting both to SSD relations and company growth. Requiring SSDs to beta test WICS products is detrimental to both WICS brand image and once again, SSD relations. Because the products currently require timely demonstrations, high sales costs for SSDs have occurred. • 32. The And The Doctrine Of Salvation Soteriology or the Doctrine of Salvation is perhaps the grandest and greatest them in Scripture. If we look at our world it s easy to see man s condition in sin. Mankind is completely helpless when the message of salvation is ignored. Our world remains shattered and town by the condition of sin, but God s gracious rescue plan through salvation and Jesus Christ will redeem us all and provide a solution to man s problems. () This union with Christ is called the magical exchange in which Christ assumes our debts and we inherit his wealth so that nothing (Horton pg.271) will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ro 8:39) (Horton pg. 323 324) Let s visit the different layers of salvation. In our textbook, Horton starts with the blessing of Justification. God justifies the wicked. Justification is a legal act, wherein God deems the sinner righteous on the basis of Christ s righteousness. Horton tells us on pg. 280, God justifies the wicked not those who have done their best yet have fallen short, those who might at least be judged acceptable because of the sincerity, but those who, at the very moment of being pronounced righteous, are in themselves unrighteous. This means full repentance, which is defined as such, as a change of mind, or a conversion from sin to God. And the relinquishment of any practice from the conviction that has offended God. When we accept salvation we are also testifying to God that we are a changed person from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This shows that he must be careful and research all of his investing activities closely. The problem that faces him is deciding if opening a Coors Beer brewery in his area of Delaware is a profitable investment. The beer is obviously not widely carried in the area so that makes the situation that much harder. He has less information to work with. This is why he contacted the Manson Research Firm. That presents the second problem. The firm will do the research to help do a feasibility analysis, but the information is not cheap. This study could be valuable because it offers information on how the population has and could change over the years. You can take this and technically watch population changes. If the population in the area is on the decline, it might not be smart to invest because there would be a minimal amount of people in the area to consume the product. If the population is on the rise, that would be a positive indication. Basically showing that the area is growing and that shows a good sign for investing. This information costs $1,500. Third is a study that investigates Coors market share estimates for 2000 through 2005. This looks into the number of gallons of the brand that are consumed locally and nationally. This is important because it shows if anyone in the area is already consuming the product. If people are already consuming the product it could be a good investment because you already have a market established. If not, you could take the gamble which would be to basically trying to go into the new area and try to establish some sort of presence for your brand. This information costs $2,000. Fourth is a study focusing on estimates for Liquor and Beer licenses in the area for 2000 through 2005. • 34. Barack Clinton And Donald Trump Essay In the beginning, God said, Let there be poverty, and there was poverty. Although this is obviously false, poverty has been a growing problem in the United States since its founding in 1776. For centuries, presidents have been conjuring up ways to cure this ongoing headache in our society with policies and procedures that have been either somewhat successful or a complete failure. This year, on November 8th, Americans will choose the next candidate who will try to defeat this problem once again. The 2016 presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, have drastically different views on how to attack poverty in America. Trump believes in the system of trickle down economics , while Clinton seeks to raise the federal minimum wage while taxing the rich in order to create a more fair economy. After comparing the policies of both candidates, I have concluded Hillary Clinton s policies will more effectively address the problem of poverty in America. In order to more clearly understand the severity of poverty in our nation, we must first look back to the source of the issue. With the start of The Great Depression in the 1920s, economic downturn was at it s worst. After the Stock Market Crash of 1929, millions of investors on Wall Street were uprooted. This caused consumer spending to drastically decline over the next several years. With this decrease in consumer spending, nearly 15 million Americans were laid off and half of the country s banks failed. President ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tita was her apprentice and without knowing it, little by little, she completely embodied the power to cook, and what?s more, to reveal herself through her food. When she had no other way to express herself, food became her mode of communication. Mama Elena?s cruel appointing of Tita as head of all the preparations for the wedding of her sister Rosaura and the man that Tita loved, resulted very tragically. While baking the cake with Nacha, Tita?s tears sank into the batter of the cake, and acted as poisonous toxins that nauseated all those who ate it, ruining the wedding, and killing Nacha herself, who also tasted Tita?s melancholy teardrops: Weeping was just the first symptom of a strange intoxication an acute attack of pain and frustration that seized the guests and scattered them across the patio and the grounds and in the bathrooms, all of them wailing over their lost loves (39).
