Once the user logs into the system with his/her credentials provided the server is started intitially
and is waiting for the clients, it starts storing all the actions performed in a log called the Event log
for the corresponding user session. It requires the user to run the Client login program every time
of a new user wants to connect. The message sent by user hits the server first and the user makes
it display on all the screen of all other users who are online. This is the main focus of our design
and is implemented using the threading. Also, if a user logs off, all other users of the group will
be notified of it and the logged off users loses access over the application. He has to login again to

SPECIAL ASSUMPTIONS: 1) A user who wishes to login can successfully login with any name,
provided the password is 12345 . The system is designed in such a way for simplicity as this is not
the main focus of our design.
2) Any multiple number of the users can login with the same username, because the system treats
them as different individuals as each and every client is referenced by a unique id.
3) Once a user wishes to log off, he sends a Goodbye message and the server disconnects him from
the application and notifies to all other users currently connected.

Which is why I decided to run the National History Challenge with the SIDE Year 9. I decided
not to make the challenge compulsory instead I focused on developing interest in the extra
curriculum activity amongst the Year 9 cohort. Around half of the Year 9s I taught at SIDE
were referral students; referral students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a
variety of physical, social and cognitive disabilities. I really enjoyed the challenges of working
with most of these students, however, when a few of my referral students volunteered for the
National History Challenge I was nervous, as these were not students whom I would have selected
for additional extra curriculum work. Most of these students had high levels of anxiety and stress,
which is why they were in the referral program, consequently I had some concerns about the
pressure the challenge might have placed on them. I worked hard with these students, offering
small group SABA classes to allow them to collaborate, sharing their ideas and providing each
other with constructive feedback. I also scheduled fortnightly individual check in meetings where
we discussed their progress and developed individual work completion plans. Their interest and

Consumers Professional Credit Union (CPCU) will be creating a new product and a new
service to go along with this product. The product will be a credit card reader for any mobile
device. To enhance this product a mobile application will also be created. This application will be
a free application, which charges a fee per transaction. However, there will be a premium option
that will waive the transaction fee, as well as gain some enhanced features.
It was determined that a credit card reader and mobile application would be a good fit for CPCU
by researching the current options, the Canadian market, and if there is a need. First, the most
known credit card reader was looked at. This would be Square and it currently operates in Canada,
Japan, Australia, and United States (Square Office Locations, n.d.). According to Cocotas (2012)
in 2012, Square revealed that it was processing payments totaling roughly $11 million a day, a $2
billion increase from the previous year.
So there is defiantly a market for credit card readers and mobile applications, but why consider
