Comparing Orville And Wilbur Wright
Orville and Wilbur Wright were two brothers that who had a dream to build an airplane.Their
dream is now reality for many people because, the Wright brothers did what was impossible and
built the airplane. As young boys the Wright brothers were filled with curiosity. Their father was
a man on the move. He always would bring them back a toy. One day when there father returned
he brought a toy helicopter. From that day on they had the idea to fly. As they grew the idea
became a project. They made the first glider in the early 1902. They then made over 700 successful
flight with the glider and their next thought of course it was to have a motorized airplane No
automobile manufacturer had made a motor powerful light enough to sustain flight

Stress Analysis
Stress, stressor and stress response might all seem to mean the same thing, but are all defined
differently. Most people express or explain stress as pressure or that they feel pressure when they
try to accomplish something (Rice, 1999). On the other hand, a stressor is the situation itself from
which individuals feel stressand a stress response is the way in which our body acts due to stress,
which includes changes in the mental, emotional and physiological well being (Anisman, 2014).
These concepts are important to understand since they can help to determine how and in which
ways to reduce stress effectively. However, not all situations of stress are unhealthy or unwanted.

With many different aspects of my everyday life demanding attention, such as school, work,
overall health, friends, family and loved ones, I personally find it very challenging to find time
for myself to deal and cope with daily stressors at any point of the day. I have always been the
type of person to put others before myself, and therefore always tending to other people s needs
before my own. By trying to make myself available to others and never turning down favors or
requests, I have noticed that it leaves me mentally exhausted by the end of the day. Kirsta (1986)
mentions that it is more common to see a work routine during the day and a resting and sleep
routine at night, which can make it difficult to complete very lengthy tasks during the day at the
workplace or at home, causing what is called the hurry sickness. This condition is mainly seen in
people of type A personality, who are more at risk to experiencing stress, cardiovascular diseases
and anxiety (Kirsta, 1986). Since I associate myself as being a type A personality individual, it
would be important to find a management technique to reduce my risk of developing heart
illnesses and anxiety disorders. Organizing time is essential in attempting to reach an optimal
balance between work, family and friends, sleep and the self. Generating a schedule which has
specific tasks assigned to certain hours or times of the day allows me

Judith Jarvison Thomson On Abortion
In this paper I will discus and examine Judith Jarvis Thomson s view upon abortion as stated in
her argument A Defense of Abortion . I will explain her view on the issue and look deeper into her
supporting arguments she included in her essay. I will also explain whether I agree with her
statements. I would also discuss whether the person can agree with my statements and reason why
having an abortionmake you in moral.
In her opening statement she first starts of stating a fetus is consider to be a human being or a
person from the moment of conception. They have the right to life just like any other person does.
In lines 1 10 Most opposition to abortion relies on the premise that the fetus is a human being, a
person, from the moment of conception. ( Thomson, Judith Jarvis. A Defense of Abortion. Judith
Jarvis Thomson: A Defense of Abortion, Oct. 1991,spot.colorado.edu/~heathwoo/Phil160,Fall02
/thomson.htm. ) Thomson is drawing a line between what we consider to be a person meaning a
human being or an adult, to what makes us a human being or an adult. In her first example she
talks about an acorn falling from an oak tree automatically being consider to be an oak tree or to
be still labeled as an acorn. In lines 10 14 Similar things might be said about the development of
an acorn into an oak trees, and it does not follow that acorns are oak trees, or that we had better say
they are. ( Thomson, Judith Jarvis. A Defense of Abortion. Judith Jarvis Thomson: A Defense of

Golf Course Research Paper
Did you ever think that a gentleman s game could relate so much to a seventeen year old girls
life? Turns out you can relate anything if you try hard enough. Every day is a new day, similar
to each hole and golf course is different. You never know what the condition of the golf course
will be and you don t know what the weather might be while your playing. One of the biggest
things I follow when I m playing golfis to take one shot at a time just like the saying take one day at
a time.
Imagine stepping up to the first tee of a golf course that you have never played before, you tend
to get up on the tee box looking to see where would be the best place to hit your tee shot. This
reminds me of starting freshmen year at a new school and looking around the cafeteria to see ...

As my senior year approaches just like my thoughts on the final hole I contemplated which college I
would like to attend. I wanted a college that was going to give me the best opportunities after
and during my college experience. I also knew that I needed a coach that would push me. I
wanted a coach and a golf team that would be there to help me grow and work hard to achieve
not only my personal goals but helps the team achieve theirs. On that last hole of the golf game
getting ready for your final putt of the round you take a chance and chose the line that you want
to putt your ball on. When I discovered Colorado State University and Coach Annie I felt I just
chose the right line for myself. As the final ball rolls toward the hole and coach Annie selected
me as one of her new recruits I knew not only that I had the right speed and the right line I knew
I found the right college. I continue to stare down the line and watch as my putt slowly falls in the
hole, with my hands up I knew that I picked the right line and have also made the best decision on
wanting to become a Ram for Colorado State

Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers
Literature Review:
The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the
concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts.
The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of
community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are
undergoing a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to
two trends in this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of
community journalism in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political
transition on the emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other
words, while the former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline,
the latter shows an adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition.
Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger
newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized
news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006).
During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by
focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche
product. So in addition to succeeding in gaining financial prosperity,

Budget Guidelines
Budget Overview
The budget is a financial plan for the university that quantifies the resource allocation plan for
the next three fiscal years. The budget process begins in early fall of each year to develop the
budget for the following fiscal year as well as projected budgets for the next 2 years. Budgeting at
the unit level is a decentralized process. Each unit is responsible for building its own budget. The
allocation letter, in addition to various other data collected at the unit level, is essential to
completing this process. Central administration distributes the allocation letter, which includes the
assumptions and the initial allocation amount. All units budgets are reviewed and compiled by the

Coordinate all tuition transfers with the organization that is forecasting the other side of the entry.
This will ensure that amounts will agree and balance across the university. When budgeting
semester tuition it should coincide with quarterly accounting deferrals. IC graduate tuition revenue
from central will be booked quarterly to the college and is based on the percentage of the semester
completed. Undergraduate aid should be budgeted to object code 75100 and graduate aid should be
budgeted to object code 75102.
Designated Operating
Designated funding sources include operating reserves, cost sharing, faculty discretionary funds,
internally funded projects, faculty development grants, SURG, affiliate programs, Technology
Transfer projects, unrestricted endowment, and capital reserves. Operating and capital reserves are
budgeted based on expected funding requirements for operations and capital. All other funding
sources are budgeted based on past experience and department knowledge of changes in operations
that will have an impact on the balances.
Designated Operating Budgeting Considerations
Use the income transfer surplus/deficit (72400) code to/from operating reserves, funding source

are required to equal $0. Cost Sharing, funding source

Home Loans And Bear Stearns ( Jpmorgan Chase Bank
I was unlucky enough to be front and center working for a homebuilder at the time of the real
estate crisis. The mindset of sellers, realtors and mortgage brokers before the bubble burst was
something that was very obvious to me as a lack of care for the long term homeowners and their
financial welfare. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan
Chase Bank) were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that
this would not come back on them tenfold. How can you purchase a loan and approve it through
underwriting without first verifying the documents were accurate? How could I get a home
loan when I was 21 and had a credit score of 1? Well, this definitely happened. I had a cosigner, of
course, but still, the qualifying standards back in 2005 were relaxed to a fault. I liked to think that
I was responsible enough to have this investment in a property to call my own, but we bought at
the height of market in Orlando, and only gained in equity for about 6 months. In 2007, our house
was worth $40,000.00 less than what we purchased it for. My home in Orlando was a $1,300.00
monthly mortgagethat I thought I could afford with help from roommates, but quickly found this to
be too daunting. I ended up moving out, and thankfully rented until this year. We finally found a
buyer for the house this year, without having to bring any money to closing. This is ten years of
mortgage payments later. All thanks to the

The Impact of Accounting Systems on Project Funds...
The Impact of Accounting Systems on Project Funds Absorption Capacity Case study of
agricultural research projects in Rwanda By: Laurent NDIRAMIYE, BAS, MBA Maastricht,
September 2008 This paper was written in the framework of an MBA thesis at the Maastricht
School of Management (MSM) under the supervision of Prof Eno L. Inanga ABSTRACT The
absorption capacity is one of key indicators on which financing agencies base the allocation of
financial resources to sponsored projects, and should hence be closely monitored. Its level was
reported to be low in developing countries, according to studies conducted by the World Bank, the
OECD and ODI. However these studies focused on macroeconomic indicators and less on

This is mainly due to the fact that several programs compete for the agricultural income in
developing countries agricultural dependent economies. In addition, while the agricultural research
is largely financed by private funds in developed countries, the share of the private sector is too low
in developing countries. The system relies either on government funding and/or external assistance,
especially in Sub Saharan Africa. According to Pardey et al. (2006), donor contributions (including
World Bank loans) in Sub Saharan Africa accounted for an average of 35% of funding to principal
agricultural research agencies in 2000. Even though this share shows a decreasing trend, the share
of external funds in agricultural research varies from country to country, as several countries, such
as Eritrea, are highly dependent on external aid for agricultural research (figure 1), while others,
such as Sudan, use their own internal income to this end. Donor agricultural research financing in
developing countries is channelled either through the Consultative Group on International
Agricultural Research (CGIAR), a consortium of 15 agricultural research centers , regional research
networks, or directly to national agricultural research systems. Sources of external financing

We Were Liars Essay
What actually defines success? In the book We Were Liars, written by E. Lockhart, the
protagonist Cadence Sinclair is starting to reinvent herself, as she becomes more and more aware
of the world outside or her small isolated bubble of rich people, dripping with privilege. The
Sinclairs spends entire summers on their private island, drinking expensive wine and eating posh
food. Their worst nightmare is being abnormal, hence the carefully crafted outer image of the
perfect family, which, of course, could not possibly be more inaccurate. Cadence s, or Cady s,
grandfather is ruling the roost, with his three daughter at his feet, who are all hoping to one day
inherit his fortune. Throughout the entire book, Cady is starting to challenge what is... Show more

We were liars is a story about the ideals we are all supposed to aspire to, simply because of the
way our society defines success; as being forceful, reckless, hasty and bold. The dauntless ideal
Cadence falls prey for. I think the book is trying to shed light on the insidious backside of our
idea of heroism, and the too often gruesome consequences it might bring. That it more frequently
than not results in the unnecessary suffering of others. Cady s cousin Mirren on the other hand,
had a very different life motto: Always be kinder than you have to . Despite being just as
privileged as Cady, she manage to do what Cady fails so strikingly. Mirren shows that it is not

Factors That Affect Interpersonal Relationships
The Chilean Doctor Alejandra Godoy, states that there are mainly four types of attachments. On the
one hand, there is secure attachment which is positive, and on the other side, there are three
different styles of insecure attachment; the anxious, the avoidant and the ambivalent. The
attachment, specifically the anxious attachment, is an affective bond that is developed during the
first years of life, but some people keep it up to adults, which I strongly believe that negatively
affects their interpersonal relationships and their self esteem. Relationships consume a huge part of
the emotional energy to people with this type of attachment. In addition, it makes them easily
upset.. When something does not turn out as expected, the symptoms of nervousness, anxiety and
depression begin, so these people, who are victims of this strong bond, tend to suffer more in their
relationships and in their personal lives.
It is very common for people with anxious attachment to be very possessive in their relationships. In
general, they tend to confuse love with the need to belong to someone. The couple s relationship
consumes much of the emotional energy in people with this bond and makes them easily upset. If
this is what happens, it is not love what they really feel; it is the activated anxious attachment
system. Frequently, fears and doubts arise about the other on the relationship. A person with these
symptoms confuses love with his/ her attachment symptoms, stops having an independent

Examples Of Mise En Scene In V For Vendetta
V for Vendetta (2006) is a dystopian political thriller film which is directed by James McTeigue.
Films are not merely art form or product for consumption. They are also a form of social practice
that conveys and constructs meanings. In this short essay, I would try to discuss how the mise en
scene and editing in the filmV for Vendetta conveys and constructs meanings in the falling
dominoes scene.
Mise en scene (Props and Colour)
In films, mise en scene means the director s control over what appears in the frame that means
how the visual materials are staged, framed and photographed. In the falling dominoes scene, I
would try to focus on the props and colour.
In this scene, the most significant props used are V s mask and the falling dominoes. The
simplest purpose for V s mask is to not disclose V a real identity, but simply to create him an icon
. The mask becomes a motif in the film. It is a significant repetition that appear throughout the
whole film and develop a dominate idea that is everyone will die but the idea can alive forever. In
this scene, V sent out a large number of the masks and costumes to the public by BFC. He
encourages people wear masks and goes out to the streets against forced conformity. It shows that

It symbolizes the chain reaction that it states to a related order of actions where the time between
consecutive actions is comparatively slight. Even the beginning is just a little fuse, it will become
a out of control power after much fire and heat are collected. In this scene, it also brings out the
idea of the simmering resentment of the people and the Coming Collapse of the government.
Audiences attention always can be drawn to the dominoes by use of close up. In end of the scene,
the simmering resentment of the people has already met the peak. It shows that all of the condition
of the rebellion has completed and V controls all keys of the

The Human Rights Commission receives the complaint from the victim or any person on his
behalf and inquires into the violation of human rights and also into the negligence of the
authorities in preventing such violation. Human Rights plays a role in everyone s life, but not
everyone realizes it. It s involved in every comment you make that includes someone different.
Every near discriminatory joke you say. It affects people, even if it doesn t affect you. Human
rights means being able to hold hands with the person you love, work where you re qualified to
work without your skin colour or sexual orientation being the reason you can t; it means having the
right to be human, making choices and mistakes. Everyday I hear comments being made about this

something meagre or something that lacks quality. Society has gotten to the point where people
think it doesn t matter what they say, that they think their comments and hate don t affect other
people. Humans are often hurtful towards each other, but I believe we all were born with the
innate of compassion and love. These days, I see parents showing their kids what to think instead
of how to think. I see people not being able to marry someone they love because they are the same

Violent Violence
when counties failed in this regard the state was often hesitant or unable to act as a final third
party enforcer. This paper provides an answer to the puzzle of why feud violence in Eastern
Kentucky spiked in the latter half of the 19th century. Previous explanations, such as Altina
Waller s account of the Hatfield/McCoy Feud (Waller, 1998) have analyzed feud violence from
a historical perspective. This paper will bring the tools of economics and rational choice
approaches to bear on the problem. The analysis of violence using economic logic is not novel.
Violent conflict, though costly and perhaps even socially inefficient, can still be individually
rational for the parties involved (Tullock 2003, p. 4.) Previous work has also explored... Show more

Trade Reforms Policy Impacts on Non-Oil Exports in Nigeria
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1Background to the Study Trade policy is defined as, a
government s policy controlling foreign trade and the central objective of trade policy is to
provide protection for domestic industries and reduce the perceived dependence on imports; a
corollary to that objective was a desire to reduce the level of unemployment and generate more
revenues from the non oil sector. Non oil export sector in Nigeria constitutes products of
agriculture, industry and services that are exported by Nigeria (Ojowu, 1989). Agriculture is the
primary non oil product sector, which provides food, and fiber for the economy, while industry, as
the modern sector, produces manufactured goods. The non oil export sector of the Nigerian... Show

1.2. Statement of the Problem Non oil exports are made up of the agricultural sector,
manufacturing sector and the service sector of an economy. Nigeria, like many other developing
economies has over the years pursued the objective of accelerating the rate of development in the
economy in a bid to transform into a developed country. The economy held so much hope for
attainment of such goals within a short period of time and this was even before the advent of oil as
the main export commodity. These potentials were so much that Nigeria was seen to becoming the
most industrialized African economy within a short period of time. The foundation of these
potentials was laid by the agricultural sector which effectively and efficiently played its traditional
role which economic theory predicts it should play in the path of economic development. According
to Johnston and Mellor (1961), the roles are as follows; Product contribution (source of food),
Market contribution (buying and selling to earn a living), Factor contribution (serves as raw
materials for industries) and Foreign exchange contribution (through exportation). Despite the
prominence of the oil sector in the past three decades, agriculture remains arguably the largest and
most important sector as its contribution to the gross domestic product has remained stable between
30 and 42 percent, also it employs about 65 per cent

Challenger was set for its tenth launch. After waiting five days from the original time it was
supposed to launch the decision was made to launch on January 28, 1986. This launch was a big
deal not only due to the fact that Christa McAuliffe would become the first teacher to go into
space but because a probe whose purpose was to examine Halley s Comet would beat a similar
probe the Russians would launch days later (TAMU engineering ethics Pg. 3 4). While the media

NASA was informed that they needed to realize that there was a disconnect between management
and their working engineers (Feynman Leighton Pg. 236). The public deserved for NASA to
inform them of what was happening and to know that NASA had changed their approach to the
space shuttle campaign. There had to be a change in schedule, there had to be an update in
technology, and there had to be a change in how design and application were approached
(Feynman Leighton Pg. 236). All Morton Thiokol did was suggest the addition of a third O ring
and did not seek to improve the current design or find better materials for the seal. However,
they took responsibility for their part and their data that had not been tested enough. It was also
their responsibility to pay retribution for the accident as well as accept any and all liability
charges. NASA should have taken some of the liability due to the fact that it was essentially their
final decision to launch the shuttle despite all of the evidence against so doing. The managers
that made the decision to launch should have been held accountable for the lives of the
astronauts. Mr. Malloy and Mr. Hardy should have been taken to trial for homicide but, due to the
scope and fact that it was the fault of multiple people and companies, they were never tried.

Professional Wrestling
Ever since I was five years old, professional wrestling has always been an escape for me. Growing

wrestling still to this day is something that I cherish.
In the early 1940s, Jess McMahon began promoting wrestling shows in the northeastern part of the

parents would hate for their children to watch Raw because of the heavy reliance on sex appeal,

butt. Even though this was a very controversial time, the fans loved it and it is still know today as
the best era in wrestling. The Attitude Era was such a success for WWE that their competition,

Essay On Social Phobia
The happiness and comfort of people stem from their ability to adapt to the environment and
people. To satisfy this need, they must interact positively in their relationships. People who are
afraid of people will have adjustment problems, which will lead to a lack of happiness, a normal
daily life, and the proper functioning of their tasks. This characteristic appears especially when
someone is mixing with people, talking, or doing a certain job in front of people. Then, the
person feels scared and ashamed. In addition, this person may not be able to speak, start stuttering
or stammering. Some people who are afraid to face people sometimes feel some physical
symptoms such as increased sweating, rapid heart palpitations, or dry throat. This kind of fearis
called social phobia or social anxiety, which is the unwarranted fear. Social phobia is a chronic
psychological disease that is due to several different causes.
Wrong dealing parents with their children during childhood is one of the most important reasons
that makes a person suffer from this type of fear, social phobia. Ignorance and lack of adequate
attention to children are one of the wrong dealings made by some parents. This disregard makes
kids feel that they are not worth attention. Thus, they do not have confidence in themselves.
Moreover, the lack of consistency in dealing with children causes them to be unaware of their
parents reaction to their behavior. For example, when parents are asserted in a particular

How Did Manet Portray Women Naked In The 19th Century
Such a scandal it was to paint women naked in the nineteenth century. Not a goddess or a mythical
creature, but a real, contemporary french woman. No matter how beautifully it was painted, this
type of subject matter was simply not supposed to be done. This was such the case for Г‰douard
Manet, a french painter in the nineteenth century. In 1863 he created Le dГ©jeuner sur l herbe or
The luncheon on the grass, an oil on canvas impressionist style painting. Not only was there
controversy in the subject matter but in the way it was painted as well. The luncheon on the grass
depicts four people; two men and two women, having a lunch out in the woods. The two men
appear to be locked in conversation while they sit with the company of a womanin nude. The
woman s clothes in scattered in the left hand corner of the painting, as if they were quickly shed
off her body. The second woman appears further back in the composition, standing in a small pond.
All three appear to be dressed in contemporary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had the capability to take a photograph of what they desired to paint, and then return to their
studio to paint it. This brought rise to a more photographic style of painting, which often flattened
the subject matter. This can be very easily seen here in Manet s painting. One could say it was a
lighter version of tenebrism; the technique that used harsh light and darks. typically in this style of
painting the figures are in extreme light while the background is rather dark, similar to what
photography lightly would give. The woman in nude appears in a very bright, stark manner against
the dark clothing of the man she is sitting beside. She appears very flat, almost as if she was cut
out from another painting and placed there. Tenebrism isn t the only technique used to create this
painting, for the brush strokes move away from clean and precise lines to more impressionistic

Ma Joad Character
The Grapes of Wrath written by John Steinbeck, is a book about a family s journey in search for
jobs. The Joads travel from their small farm in Oklahoma to California when they are forced out
of their home. Steinbeck characterizes Ma Joad making decisions concerning her family in
order to support the idea that women should be in charge of their family. Ma Joad is a strong
character that will not back down without a fight when she knows there is a reason to not give
up. As the Joads and Wilsons travel from Oklahoma to Texas through highway 66, the Wilsons
car starts to fail and they soon have to pull over. Not knowing what to do, Tom suggests that the
rest of the Joads and Wilsons should keep should keep driving with the other car and Al, Casey,
and him should stay behind to fix the Wilsons car. Uncle John and Pa Joad do not find a problem
in this solution, but soon enough, Ma Joad starts to voice her concern about the family getting
separated and not seeing each other. Pa gets exasperated with Ma but she does not back down
from him and she starts threatening him that nothing will change her mind but, Pa s anger did
not rise, and his hands hung limply at his sides, and in a moment the group knew that ma had
won (169). In the end, everybody except Al, Tom, and Casey decide to wait in a campsite that is
in Bakersfield while they fix the car. Clearly seen, Ma won the argument and this is the first of
many where the family did as she said. Once the car is repaired, the three

On Why Are More American Teenagers Than Ever Suffering...
Quan Thi
Reflection Paper #2 The New York Times article revealed that there s an increasing number of
teenagers suffering from severe anxiety as a result of several factors. Some of these factors include
the increasing standards to succeed in this society as well as the advancement of technologies in the
past decade. After reading Why Are More American Teenagers Than Ever Suffering From Severe
Anxiety? by the New York Times regarding the increasing prevalence of severe anxiety among
teenagers, I begin to question what have changed so much to cause this epidemic as most teenagers,
especially high school and college students, have experienced anxiety or depression to some
degree at some point in their lives. Anxiety is something that most people have on a daily basis
and in a small amount, it s a signal that encouraged people to take action and resolve the conflict
that has been bothering them. But now, many teenagers are diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder
and I believed the reason for this is the increasing standards that teenagers have to face. For
example, the growing requirements for getting admitted into a competitive college is a major
stressor for most high school students. In addition to academic, these students need to distinguish
themselves from their peers by being involved in extracurricular activities or volunteer if they want
any chance to get into a competitive college. Because of this, I think many students forced
themselves to be perfect in every

Persuasive Essay About Cancer
Cancer, one of the most well known diseases of today s world, has never ceased to interest me. To
this day, modern technology has brought an amazing amount of cures and vaccines to fight off a
multitude of diseases! Yet for some reason, no one has found a veritable solution to cancer, despite
countless years of intensive research. As this happens, many around the globe diagnosed with cancer
struggle every second of their lives to conquer it. One such person was my grandma, who was
diagnosed with a terminal cancer (leukemia) around five years ago. We were close and intimate
with each other, so this was mentally distressing for me. At that time, she did not have much
money and thus could not afford her cancer treatments. No one was able to contribute because
the treatments were extortionate at that time. Unfortunately, she was not able to win her battle.
Another person I knew who was affected by cancer was a boy who went to my school: Ryan
Kerr. He always had a glowing personality and displayed nothing but pure generosity. He bravely
fought against his cancer Osteosarcoma and refused to stop until he could not continue further.
To help other kids facing the dreadful and dragging surgeries he once had to go through, Ryan
Kerr and his family started a volunteer organization called Ryan s Case for Smiles to add some
liveliness to the hospital rooms by making colorful homemade pillowcases and help kids diagnosed
with cancer in whatever way possible. I myself have contributed a

advantages of the U.S. abandoning its current Pax Americana strategy in favor of a Concert Balance

thereby reducing the U.S. s ongoing financial hardships that are experienced under the current
strategy that has ground and naval forces stationed throughout the globe. Porter quotes Admiral

Even with India s population on a path to surpass China s, it doesn t come close to matching China
s economic output or military capability. According to Porter, a Concert Balance strategy would
involve the only economic contender that can compete with China vacating all its overseas bases
in order to project power from abroad. Porter argues that the withdrawal of America s military
supervision would see the re emergence of natural checks against predatory behavior. Douglas
Stuart s previously mentioned critical aspect of containment must be considered in recent context.
China is already displaying aggressive behavior through the expansion of its military footprint onto
the Spratly Islands. In one year s time China managed to turn a submerged reef into an island

The Hague s ruling that China has no rights to the disputed portions of the South China Sea, all the
while continuing with the reclamation of additional islands that are claimed by several other
stakeholders in the region. Porter mentions that the tenuous nature of balancing within the East and
Southeastern Asia regions was negated in 2007 when China issued threats in response to planned
military exercises between the U.S., India, Japan, and Australia. India and Australia ended up

DNA Chip Genetic Testing of the Future
Many, if not most diseases, have their roots in our genes. Genes, through the proteins they encode,
determine how efficiently we process foods, how effectively we detoxify poisons, and how
vigorously we respond to infections. In the past 20 years, amazing new techniques have allowed
scientists to learn a great deal about how genes work and how they are linked to disease. This rapid
pace of discovery of genetic factors, responsible for certain diseases, has allowed scientists to
genetically test asymptomatic individuals and predict their risk of certain diseases. In this paper, I
am going to discuss the following areas pertaining to the topic of genetic testing:
The definition and purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information from genetic tests can help provide people and families with answers to their
questions: why did this happen to my child or why do I have to suffer from this disease? Genetic
tests also provide scientists with information regarding disease pathogenesis. For instance, by
studying the genetic makeup of individuals with breast cancer, scientists can find out what
particular mutation in the DNA, or in several genes, is causing the cancer and use that to screen
high risk individuals. Researchers are also taking advantage of genetic tests to find gene mutations
that make bacteria or viruses resistant to drugs.
Screening Techniques
The immediate challenge in genetic testing is being able to design an effective mutation analysis
method that offers a rapid, accurate, cost effective, and user friendly test for scanning several
susceptibility genes at once. According to the article in Nature Biotechnology, by Charis Eng and
Jan Viig, genetic testing techniques are grouped into two main categories: screening and scanning.
Screening methods involve probing specific genes for previously identified mutations. These
methods, however, are unrealistic for such diseases which are characterized by a large number of
disease causing mutations that can be virtually anywhere in the gene s coding region or regulatory
region (3). For example, in breast cancer, mutations can be found anywhere within the large

But these goals are somewhat vague and can be interpreted differently in different situations under

Reflective Essay On Persepolis
Restrictions to closings, and prohibiting things without a strong evidence is against the freedom.
According to Rachael Jolley, editor of the Index on Censorship Magazine, governments show to
their citizens that they are not confident enough to control their behaviors when they start to
control what people should wear, and make it obligatory. Persepolis starts directly after the 1979
Iranian Islamic revolution, which was a consequence of the fall of the rule of the dictator Shah of
Iran. Persepolis as a graphic autobiography by Marjane Satrapi representing her life when she was

Throughout the story her father, and mother host different family members that Marjane becomes

Religious Extremists. Marjane s French school started to separate the students from into two
groups; boys, and girls. And then they started to make the girls wear the veil in her school,
which was obligatory. Satrapi was very successful, and effective in using the images to make it
easy for the readers to understand her point of view about the lack of freedom that happened
during, and after the Iranian Islamic revolution. Freedom is when the person has the ability to
explain their different point of views without being ignored, or rejected for political benefits.

Neoliberal Globalization And Canadian Sweatshops

Essay On Unicamerality In Nebraska
The Nebraska legislature is different from other state legislatures. What makes Nebraska different
to begin with, is the fact that it is a non partisan unicameral. Although, the unicameral only has one
house it operates in basically the same manners as all others and faces problems like those
bicameral legislaturesin other states. However, Nebraska takes pride in the fact that its state
legislatureis non partisan and that it works across party lines to make it a better state. Yet, some
inside the legislature do not believe this to be the case. The intent George Norris had when creating

Yet, they are also subjects that state legislatures deal with. Within a state s legislature partisanship

state which has a non partisan unicameral. There is very limited literature on the unicameral and
the problems it faces. Nevertheless, I intend to examine literature concerning legislatures to figure
out what is occurring in the unicameral that is causing the non partisanship to erode. I believe that
Nebraska is a unique state in the way that its government operates and therefore an interesting case
to study. I think that there are a couple of important factors like term limits and the influence of
interest groups that might be at play and are contributing to the partisanship being observed within
the unicameral. First, I will examine the literature and discuss possible variables that affect non
partisanship. Second, I will relate the relevant literature to my internship experience. Third, I will
provide a reflection on my time at the unicameral. Lastly, I will provide concluding remarks and

Fibromyalgia is hell on earth for the millions of those suffering around the world, and while there
is finally new research into this insidious disease, many questions remain unanswered. For instance
fibromyalgia was labeled as fibrositis, (First labeled by Gowers in 1904), and later rheumatism, etc,
until the American College of Rheumatology agreed in 1990 to diagnostic criteria, (11 or more
specific tender points throughout body.)
What causes fibromyalgia? The history of fibromyalgia is truly very sad as this disease although
very old has only recently received the attention needed to find the cause. Additional historical facts
regarding fibromyalgia include:
1) Historically fibromyalgia has been considered either a neuropsychiatric or musculoskeletal
condition.
2) Additional early names for fibromyalgia included muscular rheumatism, psychogenic
rheumatism, and neurasthenia among others.
3) The term fibromyalgia came from researcher Mohammed Yunis as a synonym for fibrositis, and
was first used in 1981.

The earth formed out of dust and debris 4.57 billion years ago, the sun being around the same

it is today. A large planet crashed into earth and the moon was created. Thankfully, because this
crash enabled the earth s axis to give us seasons! It is thought that either comets are responsible
for bringing water to earth, or at some point, water molecules in space clung to dust and we got

Chapter 3: Fewer Fish in the Sea
Even with all the technology in the world, fishing boats still operate at baseline. They are
struggling more and more every year to make this difficult (and dangerous) job worthwhile. Even
since the late 19th century, fishermen have complained about slowly declining hauls. Although it is
hard to compare statistics because measuring methods change, there is a visible, stark difference in
(specifically) the catching of bottom dwelling fish, the leading example. Even though our boats
have gotten bigger and more powerful, fishermen are pulling in less fish than 120 years ago.
Things are so bad in recent years, it s hard to imagine there was ever an abundance. Now,
fishermen are supposed to rely on the year s most recent quarry to know how many fish they are
allowed to catch. In the meantime, things like our trawls change the scape of the seafloor. There
was a temporary ban on trawls under the 1980 s. We know that extensive exploitation of these
smaller fish will lead to a gradual loss of larger animals (fishing down the food web). Roberts then

Together, then. The two raised their voices in a prolonged hunting call. Together again, said
Ulrich a few minutes later, after listening in vain for an answering halloo. Ulrich finally sees
something, but its wolves. Who are they? asked Georg quickly, straining his eyes to see what
the other would gladly not have seen. Wolves. In Story of the Hour, a mans wife dies only
because she was so happy at the thought that her husband had died and that she would be free
again. However the woman did have heart troubles to begin with, she gave herself a heart attack
just by over joy. She wasn t happy at first as told in paragraph three, She sat with her head thrown
back upon the cushion of the chair, quite motionless, except when a sob came up into her throat
and shook her, as a child who has cried itself to sleep continues to sob in its dreams. It progresses
to the stage of joy, it says in the very last sentence, When the doctors came they said she had died
of heart disease of the joy that kills. The differences in the two stories are great, one is about

Comfort Women Research Paper
Comfort Women and the Japanese Denial of Forced Prostitution During the time of the Japanese
Empire, when Japan had taken control of Korea and was attempting to expand its territory further,
the Japanese military utilized sex slaves and prostitutes called comfort women in order to boost
morale and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. However, after World War II, these
comfort womenall but vanished from Japanese history, only to reemerge in a large movement in the
1990s demanding the Japanese recognize the war crimes committed against these women. Since
then, Japan changed its official stance several times on whether or not the comfort women existed
and whether or not they were forced into prostitution against their will by the... Show more content

While Tokyo drew up a compensation plan for the comfort women in December 1994, this
compensation plan called for raising non government funds, which was rejected by a coalition of
South Korean civic groups because they felt that the government itself should pay for its crimes
(Soh Korean Comfort Women 1237). Japan also heavily downplayed the atrocities of the comfort
woman system. Japanese schoolbooks from the time generally omitted the existence of the comfort
women, and seemed to have the view that all Asians suffered as a collective in the war, which
completely ignores the fact that the Japanese subjugated other Asian ethnicities (Nishioka Behind
the Comfort Women Controversy 5). Many Japanese did not even believe the testimony of the
comfort women, and believed the Asahi Shimbun article was falsified to sell papers (Nishioka The
Comfort Women Issue 19). This led to Japan working hard and succeeding in preventing any sort of
resolution on the comfort women issue at the general assembly meeting of the U.N. Human Rights
Commission in Geneva in April 1996 (Soh Korean Comfort Women

Questions On Hinduism
1. What elements of earlier belief systems do you see integrated into Hinduism? What were the
external conditions (environmental/societal/political/economic etc.) which gave rise to the
origination of Hinduism? What was it about this time period? Location? Population? In some ways
Hinduism is the oldest living religion since some elements of it date back thousands of years;
Hinduismhas no single founder, no single scripture, and no commonly agreed set of teachings
despite many key figures and numerous holy books that might indicate otherwise. Hence why
Hinduism is often referred to as a way of life and why it makes sense that the religion was
informed by so many external conditions around its birth (BBC Religion Profile,... Show more

Moreover, the Vedas illustrate how much geography, culture, language, and politics were shaped
by religion and how much Hinduism was shaped by it (BBC Religion Profile, Hinduism) 2. In
what ways do the sacred texts of Hinduism continue to inform Hindu ritual and practice? How does
Hinduism shape daily lives in a large population centers where it is practiced today? Think in terms
of policy, education, commercial institutions, and security.
The Bhagavad Gita is illustrative of how sacred texts continue to shape society. The Bhagavad
Gita is one of the most popular Hindu texts and is actually a sort of dialogue between prince
Arjuna and Krishna, his charioteer. Arjuna in the end wants to withdraw from the battle but
Krishna teaches him that he must do his duty in accordance with his class and he argues that
death does not destroy the soul. You can see this concept played out in how people organize
themselves even today in India, where everyone seems to have a place, a reason, a duty. (BBC
Religion Profile, Hinduism)
The caste system itself is a system of social stratification, based on two concepts, varna and jati.

Militarism, Nationalism, And The Start Of The Alliance System
Militarism, nationalism, and the start of the alliance system between the great powers of the
world in the beginning of the 20th century caused an enormous conflict that shortly after turned
to the First World War. In late June 1914, Gavrilo Princip a Serbian nationalist assassinated
Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria which shortly after caused the beginning of the greatest
and bloodiest war in history. The war was fought on different theaters by the world s greatest
empires at that time. The allies composed of the British and the French empires joined forces
with mighty Russia against the Central powers composed of Germany, Austria Hungary and the
Ottoman Empire. In 1917, three years after the war broke out, the Allies were joined by the
United States which forced a quick defeat of the Central Powers. The introduction of new weapon
technology and trench warfare caused an unimaginable amounts of destruction and deaths all over
the content of Europe where most of the fighting took place. By the time the Great War had ended
in 1918, more than 9 million soldiers had been killed and 21 million more injured. Many historians
of the 20th Century blame the generals of the Great War for the massive death toll, they lacked the
ability to adapt to the new warfare tactics and the horrifying modern weaponry. The Germans and
their allies began fighting in World War Ion two fronts, invading Belgium in the west in order to
attack France and defending all of the Russian attacks on

Compare And Contrast Alternative And Alternative Medicine
Alternative medicine refers to the practices that are different from the conventional approach in the
field of medicine. Usually, the methods used in alternative medicine got its founding principles on
the philosophies that are opposite of those in modern day medicine. In addition, it also integrates
the use of spiritual practices, new approaches, or pre modern medical traditions in the healing
process.
Alternative health care is a holistic way of caring for our body, mind and spirit. It is called
alternative because it offers a way of caring for our health that is not conventional or what we are
used to in the Western world. In the Western world caring for our health is done mostly by the
administration of medicines, many of which are synthetic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But with the advent of these drugs we gradually forgot alternative health care in favor of
conventional medicine. One reason was that conventional medicine was fast and predictable. You
do not have to search for the herb and boil it and make a concoction out of it. You just go to the
drugstore, present the prescription your doctor gave you, receive the medicine from the pharmacist
or his/her aide and pay for it. Upon reaching home, you just take the medicine. It is so convenient.
But the recent experience of people taking conventional drugs is that they may lead to dependence
on these drugs and larger doses may be required upon subsequent intakes. Furthermore there are
bad effects in taking these drugs. These happen especially with antibiotic drugs. So people began
to look for alternative ways of healing, one that is not heavily dependent on synthetic drugs and one
that heals body, soul and spirit so that the person really become whole.
Some of the methods of alternative health care may be enumerated

Underrepresentation In Superhero Comic Books
It s a bird, it s a plane, it s a... black Superman? With the representation of all identities growing in
different forms of media, superhero comic books have picked up this trend and have begun to
introduce characters with diverse backgrounds. Due to the previously mentioned occurrence,
readers of different creeds, sexual orientation, and ethnicities are being introduced to the world of
superheroes. With this new trend, many questions arise concerning the impact and necessity of
underrepresentation and fairness. How have superherocomic books widened their depiction of
underrepresented communities, and what role does history play on the characters of comic books?
More specifically, how have Marvel and DC Comicsbeen affected by history, and... Show more

Superheroes such as Miles Morales, Kenan Kong, and Jaime Reyes taking the title of
Spiderman, Super Man, and Blue Beetle all have one thing in common; they epitomize an
underrepresented ethnic and racial community. Axel Alonso, the creator of the half Hispanic,
half black Spider Man (Miles Morales), explains, Miles is but one face in a diverse landscape of
heroes that includes Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Sam Wilson (Captain America) and Amadeus
Cho (the Hulk), and offers readers of all creeds and colors a chance to see their own reflection
(Moreno, 2016, para. 10). Just like the creation of Batwoman, Miles Morales creation is due to
the fact that creators wanted to be able to reach every member of their audience. However, often
lost in the intersection between superheroes and science fiction is the place race occupies in the
genre, and when it is addressed, the discussion frequently turns to framing the genre as racially
biased, (Nama, 2008, p. 134). For these reasons, many comic book creators refrain from
addressing these issues, since it may lead to them being accused of conforming to a stereotype.
Even so, the audience for comics is a truly multicultural one; in fact, it is more ethnically diverse
than are the heroes the young people read about (Brown, 1999, p.

All Airline Pilots Should Be Armed
All Airline Pilots should be Armed Abstract The issue of pilots carrying weapons, while flying, is
not new. Since the earliest days of pilots flying the U.S. Mail, they carried guns to protect
themselves and the vital cargo of mail. Today, pilots are authorized to fly with weapons to protect
the aircraft, their passengers, and themselves from hijackers and terrorists. It has become a last line
of defense in case of a hostile takeover of the aircraft, turning it into a weapon of mass destruction,
as we witnessed, during the devastating attacks on the World Trade Center (9/11). The controversy
surrounding this issue today has grown into heated debates with anti gun lobbyist protest, and even
the pilots themselves proclaiming their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was designed to add enhanced security during times of door transition by impeding access
to the cockpit door and providing additional time for crewmembers to secure the door in the
event of an attempted breach. It is also very costly to the airlines to have the doors installed.
There are also safety concerns. The pilots may become trapped in the cockpit after a crash, or if
the door is sealed tightly, it could blow apart during a pressurization loss. Reinforcing the door is
still a good idea, and it does act as a deterrent to possible hijackings and it may slow down
potential hijackers, but it cannot be relied on 100%. Many people against arming pilots have
several reasons to support their objections. One is that a stray bullet could penetrate the skin on
the aircraft and cause a catastrophic pressurization loss, which could lead to a crash. However,
that is simply not true. The fuselage of an aircraft is made of aluminum alloys, punctures to its
surface from a bullet, will only make a hole, and the aircraft s pressurization system would
compensate for the small hole. People probably would not even notice the difference in
pressurization. This theory was actually played out when a US Airways pilot accidently fired his
gun in the cockpit. Thankfully, no one was

A Nonparametric Test
Nonparametric Test
Education is even more important than ever today for anyone interested in entering the world of
employment with either large international corporations, or even local vendors serving the
community within the area where one lives. In an ongoing effort by our research team to
determine if the difference in the wages from our sample population of men and women, who have
various levels of education, does in fact make the difference. We are looking to use an additional
test to discover whether or not we can inconclusively state that from our previous test conclusion
that our team believes that there is a difference in the wages of the sample population.

After that, the team had to calculate the test statistic by using the Appendix B worksheet rank sum
sample size and rank sum from each group. The following formula gives the results of that
worksheet
Our team then made our decision that because the test statistic of 18.51 is far greater then that of
the Chi square value at v = 4, п‚µ = .05 in Appendix E, we must reject the null hypothesis that all c
populations are the same (2007). These results can be viewed in Appendix D, where at the
significance level of .05, it shows the Chi square of 25.75, which is still far above the level for the
team to reject the null hypothesis that all c population medians are the same. The team continues
the research by giving details to the nonparametric test we used and why we opted to use it.
Explain Kruskal Wallis Test
The use of the nonparametric test teaches all researchers to use smaller sample, normality is not a
requirement, and can be used for ordinal (ranked) data. The reason for our team choosing the
Kruskal Wallis test is that; one, it is the corresponding test to the One Factor ANOVA test that we
ran in the previous research paper of week three; two the team was able to compare independent
samples from the five different groups even though the sample sizes were not the same, but did
include the minimum of five

Theme Of Disguise In As You Like It
The use of disguise is an old stratagem in literature as well as in life. Achilles lived for a time
undisturbed with his love because he was disguised as a maiden. Apollo in the stress of battle
appeared in the guise of a common soldier and encouraged his favourite hero. Odysseus returned
from his wanderings in the shape of a beggar in order that he might not be recognized at home.
(Freeburg 1) The notion of disguise has been known from the ancient drama, continuing its journey
through all important periods of time. It attained the most exquisite resurrection in the Renaissance
England being used by the erstwhile biggest playwrights.
It has been generally known that Elizabethan drama reached its climax in Shakespeare s work.
Shakespeare himself is the creator of numerous dramatic arts and skills which made typical features
of his work.
Shakespeare too used the concept of disguise in a number of his plays. It is not only used as an
escape from the characters personalities but also it gives birth to serious comic effects. In As You
Like it, the disguise becomes very farcical. Disguise may be perceived in a lot of different ways.
In this part the thesis will focus on the disguise which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Thomas Paine Thesis
Thomas Paine. A man born and raised in England shipped over to America right before the start of
the revolutionary war. He was as much as or more a patriot than anyone, with an intense writing
style that led to an immense amount of followers reading his work. Paine s work was constructed of
many revolutionary thoughts and ideas that insisted on separating the states from England. He saw
America as one of the greatest countries of all and was not only a patriot, but a fan. In Paine s
book, Rights of Man, he makes several claims on America s behalf stating that our country during
that time period all parts are brought into cordial unison.... the poor are not oppressed, the rich are
not privileged....Their taxes are few, because their government is just...nothing to render... Show

due to our constructing government on the principles of society... (Paine 6) still ring true in our
modern society?
At times, America is one of the greatest and most successful countries in the world. We were
built off of an attitude that denied being tied down by the reign of an authoritative ruler. After
gaining our independence in 1776, we did our best to stay away from the type of monarchy
government we had succeeded from. Paine described America as being fair, balanced, just, cordial,
respectful, with few taxes, and fewer reasons to riot. Now, Paine was indeed a

  • 3. Stress Analysis Stress, stressor and stress response might all seem to mean the same thing, but are all defined differently. Most people express or explain stress as pressure or that they feel pressure when they try to accomplish something (Rice, 1999). On the other hand, a stressor is the situation itself from which individuals feel stressand a stress response is the way in which our body acts due to stress, which includes changes in the mental, emotional and physiological well being (Anisman, 2014). These concepts are important to understand since they can help to determine how and in which ways to reduce stress effectively. However, not all situations of stress are unhealthy or unwanted. With many different aspects of my everyday life demanding attention, such as school, work, overall health, friends, family and loved ones, I personally find it very challenging to find time for myself to deal and cope with daily stressors at any point of the day. I have always been the type of person to put others before myself, and therefore always tending to other people s needs before my own. By trying to make myself available to others and never turning down favors or requests, I have noticed that it leaves me mentally exhausted by the end of the day. Kirsta (1986) mentions that it is more common to see a work routine during the day and a resting and sleep routine at night, which can make it difficult to complete very lengthy tasks during the day at the workplace or at home, causing what is called the hurry sickness. This condition is mainly seen in people of type A personality, who are more at risk to experiencing stress, cardiovascular diseases and anxiety (Kirsta, 1986). Since I associate myself as being a type A personality individual, it would be important to find a management technique to reduce my risk of developing heart illnesses and anxiety disorders. I will explain her view on the issue and look deeper into her supporting arguments she included in her essay. I will also explain whether I agree with her statements. I would also discuss whether the person can agree with my statements and reason why having an abortionmake you in moral. In her opening statement she first starts of stating a fetus is consider to be a human being or a person from the moment of conception. They have the right to life just like any other person does. In lines 1 10 Most opposition to abortion relies on the premise that the fetus is a human being, a person, from the moment of conception. ( Thomson, Judith Jarvis. A Defense of Abortion. Judith Jarvis Thomson: A Defense of Abortion, Oct. 1991,spot.colorado.edu/~heathwoo/Phil160,Fall02 /thomson.htm. ) Thomson is drawing a line between what we consider to be a person meaning a human being or an adult, to what makes us a human being or an adult. In her first example she talks about an acorn falling from an oak tree automatically being consider to be an oak tree or to be still labeled as an acorn. In lines 10 14 Similar things might be said about the development of an acorn into an oak trees, and it does not follow that acorns are oak trees, or that we had better say they are. • 6. Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers Literature Review: The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts. The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are undergoing a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to two trends in this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of community journalism in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political transition on the emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other words, while the former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline, the latter shows an adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition. Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006). During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche product. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan Chase Bank) were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that this would not come back on them tenfold. This is mainly due to the fact that several programs compete for the agricultural income in developing countries agricultural dependent economies. In addition, while the agricultural research is largely financed by private funds in developed countries, the share of the private sector is too low in developing countries. The system relies either on government funding and/or external assistance, especially in Sub Saharan Africa. According to Pardey et al. (2006), donor contributions (including World Bank loans) in Sub Saharan Africa accounted for an average of 35% of funding to principal agricultural research agencies in 2000. Even though this share shows a decreasing trend, the share of external funds in agricultural research varies from country to country, as several countries, such as Eritrea, are highly dependent on external aid for agricultural research (figure 1), while others, such as Sudan, use their own internal income to this end. Donor agricultural research financing in developing countries is channelled either through the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), a consortium of 15 agricultural research centers , regional research networks, or directly to national agricultural research systems. • 11. Factors That Affect Interpersonal Relationships The Chilean Doctor Alejandra Godoy, states that there are mainly four types of attachments. On the one hand, there is secure attachment which is positive, and on the other side, there are three different styles of insecure attachment; the anxious, the avoidant and the ambivalent. The attachment, specifically the anxious attachment, is an affective bond that is developed during the first years of life, but some people keep it up to adults, which I strongly believe that negatively affects their interpersonal relationships and their self esteem. Relationships consume a huge part of the emotional energy to people with this type of attachment. In addition, it makes them easily upset.. When something does not turn out as expected, the symptoms of nervousness, anxiety and depression begin, so these people, who are victims of this strong bond, tend to suffer more in their relationships and in their personal lives. It is very common for people with anxious attachment to be very possessive in their relationships. In general, they tend to confuse love with the need to belong to someone. The couple s relationship consumes much of the emotional energy in people with this bond and makes them easily upset. If this is what happens, it is not love what they really feel; it is the activated anxious attachment system. Frequently, fears and doubts arise about the other on the relationship. Statement of the Problem Non oil exports are made up of the agricultural sector, manufacturing sector and the service sector of an economy. Nigeria, like many other developing economies has over the years pursued the objective of accelerating the rate of development in the economy in a bid to transform into a developed country. The economy held so much hope for attainment of such goals within a short period of time and this was even before the advent of oil as the main export commodity. These potentials were so much that Nigeria was seen to becoming the most industrialized African economy within a short period of time. The foundation of these potentials was laid by the agricultural sector which effectively and efficiently played its traditional role which economic theory predicts it should play in the path of economic development. According to Johnston and Mellor (1961), the roles are as follows; Product contribution (source of food), Market contribution (buying and selling to earn a living), Factor contribution (serves as raw materials for industries) and Foreign exchange contribution (through exportation). Ignorance and lack of adequate attention to children are one of the wrong dealings made by some parents. This disregard makes kids feel that they are not worth attention. Thus, they do not have confidence in themselves. Moreover, the lack of consistency in dealing with children causes them to be unaware of their parents reaction to their behavior. Not a goddess or a mythical creature, but a real, contemporary french woman. No matter how beautifully it was painted, this type of subject matter was simply not supposed to be done. This was such the case for Г‰douard Manet, a french painter in the nineteenth century. In 1863 he created Le dГ©jeuner sur l herbe or The luncheon on the grass, an oil on canvas impressionist style painting. Not only was there controversy in the subject matter but in the way it was painted as well. The luncheon on the grass depicts four people; two men and two women, having a lunch out in the woods. The two men appear to be locked in conversation while they sit with the company of a womanin nude. The woman s clothes in scattered in the left hand corner of the painting, as if they were quickly shed off her body. This brought rise to a more photographic style of painting, which often flattened the subject matter. This can be very easily seen here in Manet s painting. One could say it was a lighter version of tenebrism; the technique that used harsh light and darks. typically in this style of painting the figures are in extreme light while the background is rather dark, similar to what photography lightly would give. The woman in nude appears in a very bright, stark manner against the dark clothing of the man she is sitting beside. Pa gets exasperated with Ma but she does not back down from him and she starts threatening him that nothing will change her mind but, Pa s anger did not rise, and his hands hung limply at his sides, and in a moment the group knew that ma had won (169). Quan Thi Reflection Paper #2 The New York Times article revealed that there s an increasing number of teenagers suffering from severe anxiety as a result of several factors. Some of these factors include the increasing standards to succeed in this society as well as the advancement of technologies in the past decade. After reading Why Are More American Teenagers Than Ever Suffering From Severe Anxiety? by the New York Times regarding the increasing prevalence of severe anxiety among teenagers, I begin to question what have changed so much to cause this epidemic as most teenagers, especially high school and college students, have experienced anxiety or depression to some degree at some point in their lives. Anxiety is something that most people have on a daily basis and in a small amount, it s a signal that encouraged people to take action and resolve the conflict that has been bothering them. But now, many teenagers are diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder and I believed the reason for this is the increasing standards that teenagers have to face. For example, the growing requirements for getting admitted into a competitive college is a major stressor for most high school students. In addition to academic, these students need to distinguish themselves from their peers by being involved in extracurricular activities or volunteer if they want any chance to get into a competitive college. Because of this, I think many students forced themselves to be perfect in every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To this day, modern technology has brought an amazing amount of cures and vaccines to fight off a multitude of diseases! Yet for some reason, no one has found a veritable solution to cancer, despite countless years of intensive research. As this happens, many around the globe diagnosed with cancer struggle every second of their lives to conquer it. One such person was my grandma, who was diagnosed with a terminal cancer (leukemia) around five years ago. We were close and intimate with each other, so this was mentally distressing for me. At that time, she did not have much money and thus could not afford her cancer treatments. No one was able to contribute because the treatments were extortionate at that time. Unfortunately, she was not able to win her battle. Another person I knew who was affected by cancer was a boy who went to my school: Ryan Kerr. He always had a glowing personality and displayed nothing but pure generosity. He bravely fought against his cancer Osteosarcoma and refused to stop until he could not continue further. To help other kids facing the dreadful and dragging surgeries he once had to go through, Ryan Kerr and his family started a volunteer organization called Ryan s Case for Smiles to add some liveliness to the hospital rooms by making colorful homemade pillowcases and help kids diagnosed with cancer in whatever way possible. Researchers are also taking advantage of genetic tests to find gene mutations that make bacteria or viruses resistant to drugs. Screening Techniques The immediate challenge in genetic testing is being able to design an effective mutation analysis method that offers a rapid, accurate, cost effective, and user friendly test for scanning several susceptibility genes at once. According to the article in Nature Biotechnology, by Charis Eng and Jan Viig, genetic testing techniques are grouped into two main categories: screening and scanning. Screening methods involve probing specific genes for previously identified mutations. This led to Japan working hard and succeeding in preventing any sort of resolution on the comfort women issue at the general assembly meeting of the U.N. Think in terms of policy, education, commercial institutions, and security. The Bhagavad Gita is illustrative of how sacred texts continue to shape society. The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most popular Hindu texts and is actually a sort of dialogue between prince Arjuna and Krishna, his charioteer. Arjuna in the end wants to withdraw from the battle but Krishna teaches him that he must do his duty in accordance with his class and he argues that death does not destroy the soul. You can see this concept played out in how people organize themselves even today in India, where everyone seems to have a place, a reason, a duty. You just go to the drugstore, present the prescription your doctor gave you, receive the medicine from the pharmacist or his/her aide and pay for it. Upon reaching home, you just take the medicine. It is so convenient. But the recent experience of people taking conventional drugs is that they may lead to dependence on these drugs and larger doses may be required upon subsequent intakes. Furthermore there are bad effects in taking these drugs. These happen especially with antibiotic drugs. Superheroes such as Miles Morales, Kenan Kong, and Jaime Reyes taking the title of Spiderman, Super Man, and Blue Beetle all have one thing in common; they epitomize an underrepresented ethnic and racial community. Axel Alonso, the creator of the half Hispanic, half black Spider Man (Miles Morales), explains, Miles is but one face in a diverse landscape of heroes that includes Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Sam Wilson (Captain America) and Amadeus Cho (the Hulk), and offers readers of all creeds and colors a chance to see their own reflection (Moreno, 2016, para. 10). Just like the creation of Batwoman, Miles Morales creation is due to the fact that creators wanted to be able to reach every member of their audience. However, often lost in the intersection between superheroes and science fiction is the place race occupies in the genre, and when it is addressed, the discussion frequently turns to framing the genre as racially biased, (Nama, 2008, p. 134). For these reasons, many comic book creators refrain from addressing these issues, since it may lead to them being accused of conforming to a stereotype. Even so, the audience for comics is a truly multicultural one; in fact, it is more ethnically diverse than are the heroes the young people read about (Brown, 1999, p. ... • 47. All Airline Pilots Should Be Armed All Airline Pilots should be Armed Abstract The issue of pilots carrying weapons, while flying, is not new. Since the earliest days of pilots flying the U.S. Mail, they carried guns to protect themselves and the vital cargo of mail. Today, pilots are authorized to fly with weapons to protect the aircraft, their passengers, and themselves from hijackers and terrorists. It has become a last line of defense in case of a hostile takeover of the aircraft, turning it into a weapon of mass destruction, as we witnessed, during the devastating attacks on the World Trade Center (9/11). The controversy surrounding this issue today has grown into heated debates with anti gun lobbyist protest, and even the pilots themselves proclaiming their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was designed to add enhanced security during times of door transition by impeding access to the cockpit door and providing additional time for crewmembers to secure the door in the event of an attempted breach. It is also very costly to the airlines to have the doors installed. There are also safety concerns. The pilots may become trapped in the cockpit after a crash, or if the door is sealed tightly, it could blow apart during a pressurization loss. Reinforcing the door is still a good idea, and it does act as a deterrent to possible hijackings and it may slow down potential hijackers, but it cannot be relied on 100%. Many people against arming pilots have several reasons to support their objections. One is that a stray bullet could penetrate the skin on the aircraft and cause a catastrophic pressurization loss, which could lead to a crash. However, that is simply not true. The fuselage of an aircraft is made of aluminum alloys, punctures to its surface from a bullet, will only make a hole, and the aircraft s pressurization system would compensate for the small hole. People probably would not even notice the difference in pressurization. This theory was actually played out when a US Airways pilot accidently fired his gun in the cockpit. Thankfully, no one was ... These results can be viewed in Appendix D, where at the significance level of .05, it shows the Chi square of 25.75, which is still far above the level for the team to reject the null hypothesis that all c population medians are the same. The team continues the research by giving details to the nonparametric test we used and why we opted to use it. Explain Kruskal Wallis Test The use of the nonparametric test teaches all researchers to use smaller sample, normality is not a requirement, and can be used for ordinal (ranked) data. The reason for our team choosing the Kruskal Wallis test is that; one, it is the corresponding test to the One Factor ANOVA test that we ran in the previous research paper of week three; two the team was able to compare independent samples from the five different groups even though the sample sizes were not the same, but did include the minimum of five ...
