Economic Trinity
Jesus Christ s death and resurrection play an extremely critical role in the revelation of the Trinity
because both of these events reveal the immanent Trinity and the economic Trinity to humanity.
Without Jesus death and resurrection, humanity would have absolutely no idea that God is tri personal;
instead, they would still only comprehend God as a solitary being. Jesus death and resurrection shatter
this notion and replace it with a much more dynamic and fecund understanding of God. In order to
understand God s triune nature, it is first important to look at the economic Trinity. In creation, it is
possible to come to know that there is a God, and this takes place through nature (i.e. natural
theology). This knowledge about God, however, is limited and it does not fully reveal him or his
triune identity. The only way that humanity was able to initially comprehend God s true identity is
through his actions in history. Through his saving actions in history (i.e. salvation history), God
revealed himself gradually to humanity: 1.) to the people of Israel through their history; 2.) in the
person of Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The immanent Trinity refers to the inner and eternal triune life of God. The immanent Trinity leads to
the revelation of the economic Trinity and vice versa, as Karl Rahner would say. The difference
between these two perspectives on the Trinity is in terms of their emphasis on the triune God s divine
activity. The economic Trinity emphasizes the Trinity s activity in creation, whereas the immanent
Trinity emphasizes the Trinity s internal activity among the three divine persons. Despite the
knowledge that we have about the immanent Trinity, the Trinity is still a mystery that becomes more
incomprehensible as a person begins to comprehend it (i.e. the principle of analogy: the more we
know, the more we realize how much we do not

Comparing Hughes And Tennyson s The Charge Of The Light...
1) It is true that the man of 20th century described by Wolfe is different from the man from Jane Eyre.
Wolfe present at us 3 man from the 20th century: Peter Walsh, Richard and Septimus. First, Peter
Walsh is a middle aged man who appeared to have wasted his life by accomplishing nothing and not
having the same social class position as Hugh or Richard. He has no wife, but an affair with a younger
woman than him in India. He is still in love with Clarissa, and does not understand why Clarissa
married Richard instead of him. He does not take conscious of his own flaw which are his indigence
and his fixation. Peter Walsh is a man of 20th century who is kind of a lone wolf and, who are trying
to live his life to the fullest while taking down by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Tennyson s poem The Charge of the Light Brigade, tells about the charge on the English army to go
recuperate weaponry that their adversary stole, so they charge into valley of Death knowing they could
die due to fact they do not have weapons. The captain make an order can no one dare to make a reply ,
to reason why , but to die and to die. When we read the first line, a reasonable comment should be that
those soldiers are foolish to go to war even though they know that they will fail or rather die.
However, for Tennyson it is not the case, this charge is patriotic and of common sense when their
glory fade? He even congratulates them for their act Honour the light Brigade. We thus see for
Tennyson die for one country, whether the circumstances, is a good thing to do. In addition, for
Kipling s poem If who is more sentimental pass through the advice of father to his son and assumption
in which one is required to take action in honor of the country. He clearly incites Englishmen to enlist
to the army to battle for England. Notwithstanding, the element which is peculiar is that he clearly
incites the English to go colonize and reign on India. Yours is the Earth and everything that s in it.
Contrary to other works of Kipling as Wee Willie Winkee and The One Who Will Be King wherein he
seemed to sympathize and want peace to the Indians, in If we no longer see this noble wish but the
domination. In McCrae s poem In Flanders Field, appears to states two point of view. One Is that
enemy went on a village and kill people, so he incites the people on village to go revenge them by
being a soldier. Hence, he had the same idea as Kipling and Tennyson to incite people fight for tee
country. Second, perspective conversely to the former poem hitherto is that in which way the people in
the village can avenge

Garden Temptation, And Wrong Resolutions In The Bible
In Genesis, one learns how God created the earth, and tried to keep is as peaceful and pure as possible.
God faced many challenges in doing so, all requiring different resolutions, whether this meant
destroying cities, or banning Adam and Eve from Eden. Based on the constant display of human
weakness, apparent in many stories in the Bible, one can conclude humans are constitutionally born
flawed. Mankind has time and time again angered the Lord through acts of disobedience, temptation,
and jealousy.
When a human sees a task as unaccomplishable, there is an inexplicable drive to disobey, causing
humanity to be punished. The bible references disobedience many times, which can lead to unideal
situations for the individual. Eve was in the Garden ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes this attraction is extreme such as stealing, and sometimes it is an extreme act that causes
one to get killed. In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, God was upset with the people s doings, so he
decided to wipe out the people and city as whole. He told Lot and Lot s family to run away and never
look back. Lot s wife was tempted to see what was going on behind her, so she looked back and turned
into a pillar of salt. But Lot s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis.19.26). Lot s
wife was tempted to turn around, even though she was the purest person in the city. This story goes to
show that temptation is inevitable for every person. Esau was Isaac s favorite son, so when Isaac was
dying, he wanted to give Esau his last blessing. Isaac s wife overheard, and told Jacob to put skin in
his hands to make his blind father think he, Jacob, was Esau. That night Jacob stole Esau s blessing.
Jacob went near unto Isaac, his father; and felt him, and said, the voice is Jacob s voice, but the hands
are the hands of Esau (Genesis.27.22). When one is upset about not getting something, there is a
temptation to lie and sin. Temptation leads humankind to do immoral things, and go against what the
Lord has

Analysis on the Prologue of the Canterbury Tales by...
In his General Prologue, Geoffrey Chaucer introduces all of his characters to the reader. He writes that
there was a group of people who met, and were all, coincidentally going to Canterbury. In the General
Prologue, it is written, Some nine and twenty in a company Of sundry folk happening then to fall In
fellowship, and they were pilgrims all That towards Canterbury meant to ride. The Canterbury Tales is
a collection of the stories that each of these characters tells on the journey. There is a vast assortment

It is quite interesting to me that as times change, the general idea of beauty changes. The sad thing is
that it seems to follow money. Back then, pale, plump people were seen as more beautiful than skinny,
tanned people. Back then, pale skin and a little bit of extra blubber meant that someone had enough
money that they could stay inside and get enough to eat. Now, it seems that the opposite is true.
Healthy food is more expensive than the alternatives such as McDonald s. Having tan skin may mean
that a person has enough money to go lay in a coffin looking thing, get an artificial sunburn, and get
nice leathery skin. Who doesn t like leathery skin? Wow, this got off topic quickly. I like the skipper
because he seems like a guy who, while may being not the most intelligent of people, has lots of
experiences and interesting stories. I like people who have been all over the place. They seem to have
a unique type of wisdom, and wisdom is sometimes better than intellect. Finally, I really like the
Skipper, according to the description given by Chaucer. He seems like a ridiculously oversized
leprechaun. He is a huge guy, and I definitely would not like to be on his bad side. Chaucer wrote, The
Miller was a chap of sixteen stone, A great stout fellow big in brawn and bone. Most of the
introduction to the Miller is spent telling about how huge the man is. That means that he must be a
pretty big guy. He plays the bagpipes. As a

An Explanation Of The Bush s Foreign Trade Policy
Bush s foreign trade policy is broadly described as a fair trade policy based on the multi track system .
Multi track system refers to the policy of unilateral, bilateral, regional and multilateral parallelism in
conducting foreign trade.
Unilateralism means that once the United States believes that the trade practices of other countries
threaten or even infringe on the economic interests of the United States or related industries, it can
unilaterally resort to the domestic trade laws and even bypass the WTO dispute settlement mechanism,
Unfair trade practices to implement retaliation.
At the bilateral level, the United States has actively concluded bilateral free trade agreements with
some countries. For example, during the Bush ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

boost the economic development of ASEAN. With the continuous strengthening of economic and
trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, China s economy will also develop continuously.
Chinese enterprises are now actively participating in the process of economic globalization through
outward FDI. In these countries that have signed free trade agreements with the United States, Chinese
enterprises can make good use of favorable local resources and other factors of production to make
investments and continuously upgrade their businesses. Own capital and competitiveness, and
improve the position of Chinese enterprises in the world.
The importance the United States attaches to its trade with the Asia Pacific region has promoted China

The U.S. investment in the region amounts to 774 billion U.S. dollars, which has brought tremendous

Module 11 Psychology
The More I Learned, the More Interested I got in psychology. Module after module I was getting more
and more interested. Unit 3,and especially Module 11 grabbed my attention the most. Module 11
discusses stages of memory and memory processes. This module answers the most important
questions: How our memory works? and How we are influenced by our memories? .
One reaction paper wouldn t be enough for me to share my thoughts and point the most important
parts of this chapter, but I will try to. The three stages model divides memory into three sequential
stages: sensory, short term, and long term memory (R.C. Atkinson Shiffrin, 1968) (Plotnik and
Kouyoumdjian 240).
It all comes to the point, whether you pay attention to information. Only if you pay attention to
information, then it will be transferred into the short term memory from sensory memory, otherwise
you would forget it. Now if you pay attention to the information in short term memory, then it would
be encoded and transferred into the long term memory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Consumer Of India Is Extremely Heterogeneous Essay
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The consumer in India is extremely heterogeneous. The consumer
contrasts with the rural and the south Indian consumer with the north Indian. Further the consumer in
the metros militates with his usage and habbit patterns. The Indian consumer is therefore very difficult
to predict. At the same time the consumer is evolving with constant change in their choices.
Tea coffee are the favourite drinks in India though tea has ruled for quite sometime , but a quiet café
revolution is sweeping urban India with the explosion of coffee bars. Coffee bars unheard concept
until a few years ago, are suddenly big business. There is also rise in the consumption of coffee. In
India café coffee day and barista are most popular and well known café. These companies sell similar
products but their positioning and target audience are very different from each other. Despite of
serving to different audience, these players compete among themselves. Each player fights for its
share of market. They try to differentiate themselves by the way of product or price or promotion.
Café coffee day got a high rating in the market survey, for the quality and taste of their products. If
they work on this particular aspect, there is a huge potential for them to attract customers, simply
based on the taste and quality of their products.

The Opposing alliances in 1985 were military alliances in the cold war, the two alliances were the
NATO an anti communism alliance, and the Warsaw alliance is a communism alliance. I agree with
NATO alliance by trying to stop the communism alliances. Warsaw Was a collective defense treaty
among eight communist states of Central and Eastern Europe in existence during the Cold War, led by
the USSR. The Warsaw Pact was the military complement to the Council for Mutual Economic

the Warsaw alliance isolated itself with an iron curtain in Germany no one could leave or enter.
Although NATO was present throughout the Cold War as the opposite to the Warsaw Pact, joint

Norway, Cuba, And Jamaica
My country s populations that I will inform about are Norway, Cuba, and Jamaica. Norway is in
Northern Europe on the western and northern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Cuba is a part of the
Caribbean Sea, west of Haiti across the Windward Passage on and south of the Bahamas. Jamaica is
island in the Caribbean Sea, which is the third largest island of the Greater Antilles. These countries
have very diverse cultures and populations due to many factors in each country.
Norway has a population rate is about 1.3%, which means there is growth also known as surplus. The
northern parts of the country are home to two main groups of the population of Sami with a different
language and cultural traditions. The Gypsy population also is a part of the homogeneous population,
which are both smaller populations. In the late twentieth century, the country let immigrants come in
from other countries. The Norwegian people have a population of four million and they also promote
cultural sharing. About 90 percent of the immigrants belong to the Evangelical Lutheran state church.
Then the other five percent are members of other faiths and only five percent have no religion. Also,

F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Barn
Sadly, Ruth all but knows that she stays because Paul is white. She is still so ashamed of the event that
she wants to cleanse her blackness and dirtiness with Paul s whiteness and cleanliness. The binary
oppositions that have been passed on from white American culture to black American culture have
claimed another victim and Ruth is left to deal with her emotional scarring alone. Paul s touch would
never release her...whenever he touched her, she became blacker and dirtier than ever...[but] her
blackness was not Paul s fault. Neither was her guilt. She was punishing herself for something, a
crime she could not remember. You dirty...you black and dirty... (Baldwin). She wants very much to be
content with being a black woman in America, who has no reason to feel shame for being sexual, but
the event in the barn weighs heavily on her at all times. She is so desperate to be cleansed by way of
Paul s whiteness that she will not leave a toxic, unfulfilling, nearly one sided relationship. Instead, she
goes to work every day and seethes, thinking about what conquest he might acquire in her absence.
Ruth s issues with her race and sexuality also come to the fore in the office, as she shares her coffee
breaks with her female coworkers. While all the other office girls are whispering and conspiring over
the marvelous Mr. Davis, their black superior, Ruth is contemplating her mixed race relationship and
the unlikelihood that Mr. Davis would take up a gossipy office girl. Ruth, though

We Must Obey And Obey Authority
We as a society conform to the idea that it is always necessary to obey authority. This is such a
normalized function of everyday life, that it has resulted in us losing sight of our own moral
convictions. Not every act of this expected obedience is conscious. We have fell into the habit of
obeying first and asking questions later. Even worse than that, we have developed a more destructive
habit of not questioning authority at all. Our moral judgements have became clouded by our
understanding of authority as well as the desire and expectation to conform with others opinions and
actions.
From a very young ages we are taught not to question authority. It is instilled in our heads as children
that authority figures are always right and that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another concept of how children are taught authority is proposed by Professor Marta Laupa. Her
research of the development mental psychology has lead her to believe that childrens ideas and
understanding of obedience do not come from reward and punishment, but from early understanding
of social organization and status (Laupa 333). Social status and the concept of reward and punishment
all greatly influence our first understandings of what it means and why we obey authority. Both of
these influences affect our ability to recognizing authority as an abusive power as children and
continues into later adulthood.
When taught not to question authority and to see others as superior to you because of age or position,
this instills in our minds that authority figures commit no wrongful acts. Our minds are programmed
not to question authority as children, and when taught to see others as superior in power to you
because of age and position, we no longer think to question our own moral convictions, but insteads
trust the moral judgements of our superior figures. This results in authority more often than not taking
advantage of their power and asking their followers to participate in acts that go against their own
moral beliefs. An extreme example of this is how terrorist organizations follow their leaders, yet we
see their acts as wrong, because they have such a high standard of respect, trust, or even fear in their
leader they see nothing wrong in their actions. We grow up in a

Sociological Beliefs In The Blank Slate
In the first three chapters of Steven Pinker s book The Blank Slate, he attempts to disprove that there
exists a difference between three beliefs: the blank slate, the Noble Savage, and the Ghost in the
Machine. The main theory behind The Blank Slate appears to be discovering the true definition of
being a human. The Noble Savage is the idea that man in his natural state is as free as nature. It was
the belief that humans in their natural state are selfless, peaceable, and untroubled (Pinker 12).
Although Pinker associates the causalities associated with crime because of abuse, learned behavior
and discrimination; I personally don t believe that Pinker s ideas are accurate because if you connect
this theories to the noble savage then it essentially defeats the whole purpose of the statement. Lastly,
the Ghost in the Machine, references how our behavior are driven by factors greater than the activity
of our brains which enables us the freedom to change our society. It references Descartes view of the
mind as an unimportant id different from the physical world. Pinker presents various arguments from
theorist favoring either political, theological, or psychological/sociological biases. Steven Pinker s
believes that human beings are born absent any knowledge of the world, essentially making them a
blank slate. He compares it to play doh which comes blank but can be molded and formed into
whatever one chooses. Pinker s ideas are more rooted in the philosophical state and

6-11 Child Observation
Introduction: For my second observation for ECE Three, I choose to observe a child in the 6 11 years
old age group. In this observation, I was also curious to see the challenges of observing an older child
versus the two year old, that I observe for my first observation. Liam is an eleven year old boy who is

Life, School And College Life From High School
College life is very different from High School. Longer classes in some cases longer break periods,
and trying to balance your life at work, school, and home can be very overwhelming for most
students, making it very important to have a schedule and daily planner to better balance life at school
and home.
Creating a schedule and managing my time for myself has been both surprisingly easy and difficult.
My mornings from Monday to Thursday are the same for me as it was in High School. I would wake
up at 6:20 am, get dressed, eat breakfast, walk to the bus stop, wait, ride the bus to my High School,
enter my school, and wait until 8:00 am for class to start. Now instead of walking to the bus stop, my
mom gives me a ride to my uncle s house because he works near Pierce College and I ride with him to
school. He drops me off around 7:40 am and I wait until English 101 begins. Afterwards, once English

Counseling 40 ends I wait in the library till 12:00 pm and walk to the Orange Line bus stop. And I ride
the bus and can be home by 1:30 pm. Afterwards, I would relax for an hour before I would work an
essay or read a chapter for an hour, then I would watch TV till 7:00 pm for dinner. My Friday s and
weekends are usually free days for me, I only occasionally have to do chores, study, homework, or

Child Corruption And Child Trafficking
With money running the world, it is not unexpected that corruption and child trafficking are entwined
at the most rudimentary level. Often, money is the driving factor of most forms of child trafficking,
whether it is a result of the victim desperately seeking out employment to support themselves and their
family or the perpetrator utilizes their financial control over the victim to retain their product.
Unfortunately, due to their very nature, children are considered some of the most vulnerable and
sought after targets for traffickers. In a 2005 International Labor Organization report, there is an
estimated that 980,000 to 1,225,000 children both boys and girls are in a forced labor situation as a
result of trafficking across the world. In response to this pandemic, actions have been attempted by
both international organizations ( IO ) (United Nations ( U.N. ), Interpol, Non Government
Organizations ( NGO ), etc...) and state actors to reduce and prevent child trafficking. Such actions
included adopting international treaties, such as the Convention Against Corruption ( CAC ) and
Convention of the Rights of the Child ( CRC ), to address the social, economic, and cultural factors
that contributed to corruption and child trafficking. From there, many nations states established
domestic legislation by either directly or indirectly adopting provisions in the international treaties to
provide a means to criminalize the immoral perpetrators and protect the victims of

A Summary Of Organic Farming In Washington State
Washington State is a major crop producing state in the United States. According to the Washington
State Department of Agriculture in 2013 Washington State had 37,249 farms, led by apple orchards
which contribute 70 percent of the nation s apple production (2015).With this amount of produce
grown in Washington going organic could boost the economy of the state and have a huge effect on
the health of Americans as well as protecting the environment. If Washington farmers (especially the
apple farmers) start growing organically that would mean 70 percent of the nation s apples would be
organic, that is a huge step for organic produce. The pesticides used in non organic farming are
harmful to the health of our children and the elderly. They are

Comparing Bluebeard And Bloody Chamber
In this essay I will be comparing the disturbing elements in 3 books we have read. These books are
The Classic Fairy Tales edited by Maria Tatar, The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter and Lolita by
Vladimir Nabokov. The fairy tales and the bloody chamber both are a book with individual stories in
them I will be focusing on the fairytale of bluebeard and bloody chamber in The Bloody Chamber and
how they relate in their disturbingness and how Lolita is very disturbing too but in a different way.
Although these 3 books are a little different they all gave me the same unsettled feeling when reading
them. In The Classic Fairy Tales there are a couple versions of Bluebeard , I am going to focus on the
Perrault version. In this fairytale there is a man who lives in a giant house and has a wife, after a while
of being married he needs to travel for business and he tells his wife to explore the house and gives
her a set of keys to explore the house but tells her that there is a small door at the end of a hall way
that she cannot open, and if she does then he will get very angry at her. He goes onto say Go anywhere

Depression and Seclusion in Sherwood Anderson?s Winesburg, Ohio
Seclusion is the state of being private and away from other people. It can be caused by many things
including judgement of others, or can be self inflicted. It can many times result in depression and in
some cases personality disorders, breakdowns, and such. Sherwood Anderson, who spent much of his
childhood in the small town of Clyde, Ohio, was inspired by his own trials with depression and
seclusion, to write about his distorted view of life in a small American town. A great grouping of these
stories is Winesburg, Ohio. In each of the stories included in Winesburg, Ohio, Anderson highlights a

kind of blurred moral signature.?25 Dreams, another theme often presented in these stories, fills the
lives of the characters. They dream what their lives could be like if they were normal, they dream
about past memories, their dreams envelop them and sometimes keep them from reaching their
potential because they hang on to them. However, it is also shown that these dreams allow some of the
characters to have happy ending, and achieve their desires for life. ?What turned these characters into

The Online Date
Along with in person dating, Generation Y youth have also had love connections online. Many people
today are finding relationships on the Internet, but the trend is especially prominent in Generation Y.
As hokey as they are, those chat rooms are real places, filled with real people, says David Morrison,

Video Games Vs. Wii
Video Games have been around since the 1950 s meant to entertain people, and to bring them into a
fantasy world they have never been to before. However, they haven t become popular until around the
1970 s and 1980 s introducing arcade games in corner stores, console games like Nintendo, and

Video Games have come a long way since their debut having such a big impact on gamers that not
only they can play these different types of games, they are talked about, read about, fantasized about,

mostly children and teens falling between the ages of 10 19 and even adults as well. It s amazing how

America s Homeland Security Strategy
To keep our great nation safe requires the combined effort of a multitude of agencies and groups
nationwide. The US homeland is the physical region that includes the continental United States,
Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, and surrounding 500 nautical miles of territorial waters and airspace
(Joint Chiefs of Staff, 2013). The keep the countries boarders secure and over 324 million Americans
safe is a massive task and this broad stroke program involves federal government including the
military, federal, state, local, tribal areas and the private sector along with other governments with
shared interests. According to The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) there are three key
concepts that are the foundation of America s homeland security strategy.

This leads DHS to five main homeland security missions. The main two entities that control all
aspects of these programs in a coordinated effort are the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and
the Department of Defense (DOD) even though they are separate roles each impacts the success of the
other.

Race As A Social Construct Essay
An important dialogue has been created amongst historians. This dialogue is based on whether or not
race is a biological factor or a social construct. Both ideas will be explored. Race plays a large role in
our society. Certain races have stigmas associated with them that ultimately lead to discrimination.
Whereas, certain races are granted more privilege. Our society is based on this racial hierarchy, and
white people are at the top while Black people are at the bottom. Though, gender does play a role in
the hierarchical order, to answer the overarching question gender will not be included nor considered.
Furthermore, societal perceptions of race differ based on region. Within the United States, race is very

Ethiopian (Black race), and American (Native American/ red race). However, in current day, our
perceptions of race is changing. Now more races are present on the census and the concept of being
multiracial is currently being more accepted. Over time, our perception of what and who can be
considered what race and when constantly varies. For example, in 1929 Mexicans in America were
considered white but in 1930 they were considered non white on the census, in order to limit

when the U.S wanted to increase their labor force. Racial categories are constantly evolving based on
the overall societal environment and this can be seen in the way an ethnic groups race was changed

The Norwegian immigrants that used to live in
America may ask this question. In 1825, 52
Norwegians traveled to America to seek religious freedom. In Norway from
1807 1814 many Norwegians were captured by the British in the war.
While they were there, many were introduced to Quakerism, and when they were released, they

Government did not approve of any religion besides Lutheran, so when the prisoners came back, they

Descartes Position Of Epistemology
Epistemology examines the power of knowledge in a variety of subjects, such nature and human
behaviour. Epistemological solipsism is the theory of this knowledge, which brings forth the idea that
the only mind any person can only be certain of, is his or her own mind. Descartes spent a great deal
of focus on the mind, and is probably most famous for his conclusion of I think, therefore I exist . But
what does he mean when he says I think , and how does it relate to this theory that the only mind an
individual can be certain of is their own? This paper will divulge into the basis of Descartes statement,
as well as discuss the proposition of Descartes position of epistemological solipsism, to explain

He begins by with the premise of the testimony of others, and outlines numerous ways in which
accepting the testimony of others can be detrimental. He also makes an analogy to beeswax as a
human body in order to add to his explanation of the physical and sensory worlds. Descartes uses his
perceptions of the sensory world, and the ability to doubt the existence and thought of everything
around him. Through this doubt, he is able to deduce that there is the ability to be certain of one thing:
that the only mind he can be certain of is his own. These proofs work for the position Descartes has
with regards to epistemological solipsism, while demonstrating that his proposition can be proven to
be sound through the level of thought he had put into developing this proposition. It is because
Descartes holds a high value to knowledge, as well as understanding the source of this knowledge,
that he can be seen as an epistemological solipsist. By allowing himself to question the ideas that he
had not previously doubted, he was able to expand his mind, and arrive to the conclusions outlines in

the Community of Practice is defined by more than the linguistics codes that are being used. It is

Describe the 3 types of membership within a CoP (Wenger, 1998) giving one example of each from
your own personal experience. The three types of membership within a Community of Practice are full
participation, peripheral participation and marginal participation. A full participant is the one that
participates in the practices of the community. For example, when a participant is part of a group
project in college, and does all the assignments, attends the meetings and collaborates well with the
other participants, this student is a full participant in his/her community. A peripheral participation has
only partial participation in the process. This sometimes can be seen as a process of learning. For
example, when a person is in a process of learning how to swim, he first watches how it is done and
then tries to do it. Thus, he becomes partial participant. The marginal participation differs from the
peripheral participation by the access in the community. The marginal participant is somewhat
sidelined from the process. For example, when a group of friends are planning to go out to a club, only
the ones that have 21 can go, due to the restrictions of age. The ones that are under 21 are

before their eyes only to be replaced by big business, corrupt politics, and horrid working conditions.
In response to all this many citizens decided that they too would make ... Show more content on

People saw this and realized that there was a need for change, the people who saw the need for change
and went after it are known as progressives for they wanted to progress their nation by addressing the
problems that it was faced with.
Though the people of the progressive and reform era are labeled as progressives, the fact that they
share a name does not mean that all their ideals were the same as well. Progressives were divided
mainly into two camps and from those into even smaller ones. There were the progressives who
wanted to go back to the good old days, those who wanted to preserve the way of life that was slipping
through their fingers, and then there were those who wanted to address the changes by making
changes. Some progressives felt that it was necessary to preserve the way of life that was fast
disappearing in America. On the other hand some progressives felt that the government needed to be
run differently because of all of the changes in public and private sector. Either way, change was part
of the equation. The progressive era was composed of many people, each possessing one, two, or
more of the many ideals that helped define the progressive era. It can be said however, that most
progressive reformers were upper middle to upper class people for whereas the poor certainly saw the
problems and recognized the need to solve them, there were not in a position where they could. Those
who made up the progressive front were educated

Word Order in a Noun Phrase and English Anaphors Essay
WORD ORDER IN NP AND ENGLISH ANAPHORS
Tereza Štifnerová The purpose of this essay is firstly to show the word order of a noun phrase (NP)
and how the head noun of the NP can be post and pre modified, and secondly to focus on meaning of
some examples of English anaphors and the distinctions between them and their Czech translations.
The first part is going to aim on the internal structure of NPs. Complex nominal phrase consists of the
pre modifying elements, the head noun and the post modifying elements. The so called pre modifiers
can be divided into two groups: determiners and prenominals. We have to say that „determiners are
obligatory and unique (Veselovská:86), and they have a specific place in the noun phrase they are at

(11) a. an office of the teacher with the white door b. * an office with the white door of the teacher
In the second part I am going to translate some examples of English anaphors into Czech and then
discuss the meanings of them and I will also try to show the distinctions between English and Czech
forms. Here are the examples in English: (a1) Theyi killed themk. (b1) Theyi killed themselvesi. (c1)
Theyi killed each otheri. And the translation into Czech: (a2) Oni je zabili. (b2) Oni se zabili. (c2) Oni
se zabili (navzájem). The example (a1) has the index i with the pronoun they and the index k with the
accusative case of the pronoun they, which means that the pronoun they have a meaning of „people ,
which are NOT the people included in the meaning of them, i.e. them has the so called disjoined
refference. The following examples (12), (13) and (14) show that in English the nominative and
accusative cases of the pronoun they are used to mark different (groups of) people. (12) (13) (14) The
thievesi killed themk. The thievesi killed the thievesk. *The thievesi killed the thievesi. → the thieves
≠ them → they are not the same thieves so they cannot have the same index
The example (b1) has the index i in both cases it means that they and themselves includes the same
people. Because themselves is a reflexive pronoun, we know that the group of people indicated in they
is the same group of people as in themselves. In the example

  • 2. Economic Trinity Jesus Christ s death and resurrection play an extremely critical role in the revelation of the Trinity because both of these events reveal the immanent Trinity and the economic Trinity to humanity. Without Jesus death and resurrection, humanity would have absolutely no idea that God is tri personal; instead, they would still only comprehend God as a solitary being. Jesus death and resurrection shatter this notion and replace it with a much more dynamic and fecund understanding of God. In order to understand God s triune nature, it is first important to look at the economic Trinity. In creation, it is possible to come to know that there is a God, and this takes place through nature (i.e. natural theology). This knowledge about God, however, is limited and it does not fully reveal him or his triune identity. The only way that humanity was able to initially comprehend God s true identity is through his actions in history. Through his saving actions in history (i.e. salvation history), God revealed himself gradually to humanity: 1.) to the people of Israel through their history; 2.) in the person of Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The immanent Trinity refers to the inner and eternal triune life of God. The immanent Trinity leads to the revelation of the economic Trinity and vice versa, as Karl Rahner would say. The difference between these two perspectives on the Trinity is in terms of their emphasis on the triune God s divine activity. The economic Trinity emphasizes the Trinity s activity in creation, whereas the immanent Trinity emphasizes the Trinity s internal activity among the three divine persons. Despite the knowledge that we have about the immanent Trinity, the Trinity is still a mystery that becomes more incomprehensible as a person begins to comprehend it (i.e. the principle of analogy: the more we know, the more we realize how much we do not ... Wolfe present at us 3 man from the 20th century: Peter Walsh, Richard and Septimus. First, Peter Walsh is a middle aged man who appeared to have wasted his life by accomplishing nothing and not having the same social class position as Hugh or Richard. He has no wife, but an affair with a younger woman than him in India. He is still in love with Clarissa, and does not understand why Clarissa married Richard instead of him. In Tennyson s poem The Charge of the Light Brigade, tells about the charge on the English army to go recuperate weaponry that their adversary stole, so they charge into valley of Death knowing they could die due to fact they do not have weapons. The captain make an order can no one dare to make a reply , to reason why , but to die and to die. When we read the first line, a reasonable comment should be that those soldiers are foolish to go to war even though they know that they will fail or rather die. However, for Tennyson it is not the case, this charge is patriotic and of common sense when their glory fade? He even congratulates them for their act Honour the light Brigade. We thus see for Tennyson die for one country, whether the circumstances, is a good thing to do. In addition, for Kipling s poem If who is more sentimental pass through the advice of father to his son and assumption in which one is required to take action in honor of the country. He clearly incites Englishmen to enlist to the army to battle for England. Notwithstanding, the element which is peculiar is that he clearly incites the English to go colonize and reign on India. Yours is the Earth and everything that s in it. Contrary to other works of Kipling as Wee Willie Winkee and The One Who Will Be King wherein he seemed to sympathize and want peace to the Indians, in If we no longer see this noble wish but the domination. In McCrae s poem In Flanders Field, appears to states two point of view. One Is that enemy went on a village and kill people, so he incites the people on village to go revenge them by being a soldier. Hence, he had the same idea as Kipling and Tennyson to incite people fight for tee country. Second, perspective conversely to the former poem hitherto is that in which way the people in the village can avenge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

God faced many challenges in doing so, all requiring different resolutions, whether this meant destroying cities, or banning Adam and Eve from Eden. Based on the constant display of human weakness, apparent in many stories in the Bible, one can conclude humans are constitutionally born flawed. Mankind has time and time again angered the Lord through acts of disobedience, temptation, and jealousy. When a human sees a task as unaccomplishable, there is an inexplicable drive to disobey, causing humanity to be punished. In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, God was upset with the people s doings, so he decided to wipe out the people and city as whole. He told Lot and Lot s family to run away and never look back. Lot s wife was tempted to see what was going on behind her, so she looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. But Lot s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis.19.26). Lot s wife was tempted to turn around, even though she was the purest person in the city. This story goes to show that temptation is inevitable for every person. Esau was Isaac s favorite son, so when Isaac was dying, he wanted to give Esau his last blessing. Isaac s wife overheard, and told Jacob to put skin in his hands to make his blind father think he, Jacob, was Esau. That night Jacob stole Esau s blessing. Jacob went near unto Isaac, his father; and felt him, and said, the voice is Jacob s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau (Genesis.27.22). Healthy food is more expensive than the alternatives such as McDonald s. Having tan skin may mean that a person has enough money to go lay in a coffin looking thing, get an artificial sunburn, and get nice leathery skin. Who doesn t like leathery skin? Unit 3,and especially Module 11 grabbed my attention the most. Module 11 discusses stages of memory and memory processes. This module answers the most important questions: How our memory works? and How we are influenced by our memories? . One reaction paper wouldn t be enough for me to share my thoughts and point the most important parts of this chapter, but I will try to. The three stages model divides memory into three sequential stages: sensory, short term, and long term memory (R.C. Atkinson Shiffrin, 1968) (Plotnik and Kouyoumdjian 240). It all comes to the point, whether you pay attention to information. Only if you pay attention to information, then it will be transferred into the short term memory from sensory memory, otherwise you would forget it. Now if you pay attention to the information in short term memory, then it would be encoded and transferred into the long term memory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is still so ashamed of the event that she wants to cleanse her blackness and dirtiness with Paul s whiteness and cleanliness. The binary oppositions that have been passed on from white American culture to black American culture have claimed another victim and Ruth is left to deal with her emotional scarring alone. Paul s touch would never release her...whenever he touched her, she became blacker and dirtier than ever...[but] her blackness was not Paul s fault. Neither was her guilt. She was punishing herself for something, a crime she could not remember. You dirty...you black and dirty... (Baldwin). She is so desperate to be cleansed by way of Paul s whiteness that she will not leave a toxic, unfulfilling, nearly one sided relationship. Instead, she goes to work every day and seethes, thinking about what conquest he might acquire in her absence. This is such a normalized function of everyday life, that it has resulted in us losing sight of our own moral convictions. Not every act of this expected obedience is conscious. We have fell into the habit of obeying first and asking questions later. Even worse than that, we have developed a more destructive habit of not questioning authority at all. Another concept of how children are taught authority is proposed by Professor Marta Laupa. Her research of the development mental psychology has lead her to believe that childrens ideas and understanding of obedience do not come from reward and punishment, but from early understanding of social organization and status (Laupa 333). Social status and the concept of reward and punishment all greatly influence our first understandings of what it means and why we obey authority. Both of these influences affect our ability to recognizing authority as an abusive power as children and continues into later adulthood. When taught not to question authority and to see others as superior to you because of age or position, this instills in our minds that authority figures commit no wrongful acts. Our minds are programmed not to question authority as children, and when taught to see others as superior in power to you because of age and position, we no longer think to question our own moral convictions, but insteads trust the moral judgements of our superior figures. This results in authority more often than not taking advantage of their power and asking their followers to participate in acts that go against their own moral beliefs. An extreme example of this is how terrorist organizations follow their leaders, yet we see their acts as wrong, because they have such a high standard of respect, trust, or even fear in their leader they see nothing wrong in their actions. Sociological Beliefs In The Blank Slate In the first three chapters of Steven Pinker s book The Blank Slate, he attempts to disprove that there exists a difference between three beliefs: the blank slate, the Noble Savage, and the Ghost in the Machine. The main theory behind The Blank Slate appears to be discovering the true definition of being a human. The Noble Savage is the idea that man in his natural state is as free as nature. It was the belief that humans in their natural state are selfless, peaceable, and untroubled (Pinker 12). Although Pinker associates the causalities associated with crime because of abuse, learned behavior and discrimination; I personally don t believe that Pinker s ideas are accurate because if you connect this theories to the noble savage then it essentially defeats the whole purpose of the statement. Lastly, the Ghost in the Machine, references how our behavior are driven by factors greater than the activity of our brains which enables us the freedom to change our society. It references Descartes view of the mind as an unimportant id different from the physical world. Pinker presents various arguments from theorist favoring either political, theological, or psychological/sociological biases. Often, money is the driving factor of most forms of child trafficking, whether it is a result of the victim desperately seeking out employment to support themselves and their family or the perpetrator utilizes their financial control over the victim to retain their product. Unfortunately, due to their very nature, children are considered some of the most vulnerable and sought after targets for traffickers. In a 2005 International Labor Organization report, there is an estimated that 980,000 to 1,225,000 children both boys and girls are in a forced labor situation as a result of trafficking across the world. In response to this pandemic, actions have been attempted by both international organizations ( IO ) (United Nations ( U.N. ), Interpol, Non Government Organizations ( NGO ), etc...) and state actors to reduce and prevent child trafficking. Such actions included adopting international treaties, such as the Convention Against Corruption ( CAC ) and Convention of the Rights of the Child ( CRC ), to address the social, economic, and cultural factors that contributed to corruption and child trafficking. • 31. Race As A Social Construct Essay An important dialogue has been created amongst historians. This dialogue is based on whether or not race is a biological factor or a social construct. Both ideas will be explored. Race plays a large role in our society. Certain races have stigmas associated with them that ultimately lead to discrimination. Whereas, certain races are granted more privilege. Our society is based on this racial hierarchy, and white people are at the top while Black people are at the bottom. Though, gender does play a role in the hierarchical order, to answer the overarching question gender will not be included nor considered. Furthermore, societal perceptions of race differ based on region. Within the United States, race is very much Black and white, due to its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These five groups were Caucasian (white race), Mongolian (yellow race), Malayan (brown race), Ethiopian (Black race), and American (Native American/ red race). However, in current day, our perceptions of race is changing. Now more races are present on the census and the concept of being multiracial is currently being more accepted. Over time, our perception of what and who can be considered what race and when constantly varies. For example, in 1929 Mexicans in America were considered white but in 1930 they were considered non white on the census, in order to limit immigration. However, their racial status was changed back to white once again during World War II when the U.S wanted to increase their labor force. Racial categories are constantly evolving based on the overall societal environment and this can be seen in the way an ethnic groups race was changed throughout history for sheer convenience. Race is a social construct and all possible factors that state that there is a possibility of a variance in biological factors in race are due to evolution, isolation, and adaptation over time that causes select groups of people to differ in appearance and other ... • 34. Moving To America Imagine living in a country set in their own ways, and you could never change that. Riddled with disease and famine, you have no place to turn except to leave your homeland and pursue opportunities in a country you have never been to. When you arrive in America matters seem to get worse. Without clothes, food, shelter, and no way to grow your community, you ask yourself this question, was it really worth leaving? The Norwegian immigrants that used to live in America may ask this question. In 1825, 52 Norwegians traveled to America to seek religious freedom. In Norway from 1807 1814 many Norwegians were captured by the British in the war. While they were there, many were introduced to Quakerism, and when they were released, they brought these religious practices back with them. The Norwegian Government did not approve of any religion besides Lutheran, so when the prisoners came back, they decided to leave to avoid religious persecution. America was a great place to travel to, because of its freedom of religion bill, which was passed in 1786. This bill allowed anyone to have the religion they desired, and also granted ... We finally decided to move to America in 1841, and we settled in Minnesota. There we were living in a large farming community, and we could safely say its the easiest choice we made. • 35. Descartes Position Of Epistemology Epistemology examines the power of knowledge in a variety of subjects, such nature and human behaviour. Epistemological solipsism is the theory of this knowledge, which brings forth the idea that the only mind any person can only be certain of, is his or her own mind. Descartes spent a great deal of focus on the mind, and is probably most famous for his conclusion of I think, therefore I exist . But what does he mean when he says I think , and how does it relate to this theory that the only mind an individual can be certain of is their own? This paper will divulge into the basis of Descartes statement, as well as discuss the proposition of Descartes position of epistemological solipsism, to explain Descartes position of the multiple methods of knowledge and truths. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He begins by with the premise of the testimony of others, and outlines numerous ways in which accepting the testimony of others can be detrimental. He also makes an analogy to beeswax as a human body in order to add to his explanation of the physical and sensory worlds. Descartes uses his perceptions of the sensory world, and the ability to doubt the existence and thought of everything around him. Through this doubt, he is able to deduce that there is the ability to be certain of one thing: that the only mind he can be certain of is his own. These proofs work for the position Descartes has with regards to epistemological solipsism, while demonstrating that his proposition can be proven to be sound through the level of thought he had put into developing this proposition. It is because Descartes holds a high value to knowledge, as well as understanding the source of this knowledge, that he can be seen as an epistemological solipsist. By allowing himself to question the ideas that he had not previously doubted, he was able to expand his mind, and arrive to the conclusions outlines in both Meditations One and ... Community Of Practice Essay The main difference between Labov s Speech Community and Ekert s Community of Practice is that the Community of Practice is defined by more than the linguistics codes that are being used. It is focused on the concept of doing valuable actions that will embrace the community. In order to be part of a Community of Practice , one should have more than a choice of a language; all characteristics of involvement in a group are of an importance. In addition, Community of Practice is focused on the individual and the distinctive views of the different members of the community, while the Speech Community emphasizes more on the configurations that are being created. 2. Describe the 3 types of membership within a CoP (Wenger, 1998) giving one example of each from your own personal experience. The three types of membership within a Community of Practice are full participation, peripheral participation and marginal participation. A full participant is the one that participates in the practices of the community. For example, when a participant is part of a group project in college, and does all the assignments, attends the meetings and collaborates well with the other participants, this student is a full participant in his/her community. A peripheral participation has only partial participation in the process. This sometimes can be seen as a process of learning. For example, when a person is in a process of learning how to swim, he first watches how it is done and then tries to do it. Thus, he becomes partial participant. The marginal participation differs from the peripheral participation by the access in the community. The marginal participant is somewhat sidelined from the process. For example, when a group of friends are planning to go out to a club, only the ones that have 21 can go, due to the restrictions of age. The ones that are under 21 are marginalized from ... The point when superhero movies first started to overwhelm the box office, from Superman (1978) to Batman (1989), they were all DC titles. Marvel never appeared to have the capacity to keep up, regardless of being purchased by film organization New World Pictures in 1986. Film rights were lashed to studios yet all we got was super crap as The Punisher (1989) and direct to VHS Captain America (1990). At that point came sleeper hit Blade in 1998. Change surrounds us every moment of every day; change is constant. Change is one of the words the words that can be used to describe America as it moved into the twentieth century; change was everywhere as the nineteenth century gave way to the roaring twentieth. People saw this and realized that there was a need for change, the people who saw the need for change and went after it are known as progressives for they wanted to progress their nation by addressing the problems that it was faced with. Though the people of the progressive and reform era are labeled as progressives, the fact that they share a name does not mean that all their ideals were the same as well. Progressives were divided mainly into two camps and from those into even smaller ones. There were the progressives who wanted to go back to the good old days, those who wanted to preserve the way of life that was slipping through their fingers, and then there were those who wanted to address the changes by making changes. Some progressives felt that it was necessary to preserve the way of life that was fast disappearing in America. On the other hand some progressives felt that the government needed to be run differently because of all of the changes in public and private sector. Either way, change was part of the equation. The progressive era was composed of many people, each possessing one, two, or more of the many ideals that helped define the progressive era. It can be said however, that most progressive reformers were upper middle to upper class people for whereas the poor certainly saw the problems and recognized the need to solve them, there were not in a position where they could.
