3. I found the research pages really useful, the first thing I looked at was
the existing products which allowed me to look into the features used in
other audio projects such as the Archers and the Chilling Tales for
Dark Nights podcast. I discovered the different music, sound effects
and performances that are used depending on the type of audio, this
meant I could see what to include in my own product
. I didn’t include unnecessary features that wouldn’t match. I thought
about what made the audience listen to shows such as these. I felt like
my strength in the research section was doing the existing products
research and this helped my project by me knowing what kind of
performance, music or sound effects would make an audio project sound
good. The areas that were not helpful were that there were that
there wasn't a lot more research projects for me to do which would have
improved my final product a lot more
4. To plan my final poster I firstly created a poster
style sheet and the reason why I did this was to
explore colours, fonts and image styles similar to
what you want to produce. Then after that, I
created a layout of my final poster which was a
mock up of a potential design using the colours
and fonts established in my style sheet and
sourced images.
5. To plan my radio show I firstly created a script draft of my radio
show and to do this I wrote the script in a word document so I could
write it out properly, then after that I created a ‘scrip draft’ slide in my
pre-production production and I copied and pasted it into the slide
and I coloured it into different colours, for example I wrote
the Narrator parts in red, the the music in orange, and finally the
sound effects in green, afterwards I wrote a final script of my radio
show changing some of my lines, and adding when the music would
blend in afterwards I made a list of all the sound effects I would need
for my audio recording, next I made a list of the actors and locations I
would need, next I made a list of the music I would
need, finally made a list of all the resources that I would need. I found
that my strengths in planning was writing up my draft and final
scripts and this helped my product because I knew exactly what to
say and where the cues for the sound effects and music were. I found
that my weakness was considering my resources list as there wasn't a
lot resources that I needed
6. I think I managed my time well right up until production.
I mostly had all my work in on time and when it was handed in, it was fully complete etc. However when it
came to production I ran into a few problems. These problems were mostly to do with my audio
recordings and my own time management.
This was because many of the audio recordings had background noise and I also messed up many of the
lines of my script on my first recording session, so I had to record them multiple times.
When I am under pressure, I tend to work the best and the most efficiently. Often, I think the quality of my
work is also far better when there is not not a lot of time to do it, as it means there is no room for error
leading to me being more focused and concentrated on the task at hand
The amount of time we had to conclude each section of the FMP was very comfortable and there was hardly
ever any point where I thought ‘Oh dear I am not going to be able to finish on time’
Our tutor gave us deadlines for every segment of the FMP (Planning, research, proposal etc.) this greatly
helped as it meant we had to get it done and move on to the next thing, instead of doing research for 6
weeks and then realizing ‘I still have to do all the rest of the project.’
As we had nearly twice as much time for this project as we did for the other rotations, we did earlier in the
year I was very keen to work hard and put as much work into each aspects of the project as I could. I
think because of the huge amount of time we had to conclude this project (in comparison to the other
rotations) the quality of the body of work I have produced has been far higher than anything I have
made previously.
7. To make my audio project as professional as it could be I added in
realistic sound effects to make the actions of the actors seem more
realistic, I also added in royal free music so that the audio sounds
more original, Finally I made the pitch of my voice deeper when
my main character was talking which is what many creepy
pasta storytellers do not do.
8. I think that my final product is really creative and unique. The aspects
of my audio that I like is when my sound effects happen and when
my character speaks . If I was to improve my final piece I
would record the story a few more so that I wouldn't jumble over my
words I think that my biggest strength was sticking to the theme and
colour scheme that I had chosen in my planning. I think my weakness
was creating all the aspects of the game so they all
had similar amount of detail.
9. The overall audience that my finished product would appeal to is
anybody from all ages and from all sex’s. It still doesn’t specially aim
at any social group or psychographic. My final piece would also
appeal to anybody who loves music and the 140s as well as radio
shows. My products would appeal to them because my product will
cheap to buy because I would sell them to people that belong
the belongers class and it would also apply to all genders because my
team is all inclusive of all genders.
