2. Ways I challenge convention for Front Cover
and Contents page
• Front Cover I followed convention by placing my masthead at the top of the front cover but I have gone
against convection by using a the wrong spelling to try and make my work seem a bit more original. I have
followed convention clearly with the way that I have made the masthead stand out the most on the page
and the second most eye-catching theme on the front cover is my main cover line which is used to describe
the future talents which are in colleges an idea of people to look out for.
• I have done the same with the contents page I haven’t gone against convention but followed it nicely using
images that have conations of college life which will feature in the magazine. I followed convention with the
pages being listened in the columns and it being separated into regular and feature content.
3. How I have used new technologies in creating
my front cover and contents page.
• In making my front cover I used new technology with Photoshop how I have gained new abilities in how to set the page up
with setting to international paper and then following procedure, by dragging and placing the photo I wanted to use as my
front cover. I then began to add text and shapes to the cover which allowed it look more front cover I used a shadow effect
in my work which allowed the text to stand out more I used as brush effect and brightness control for the picture itself
which allowed my models face to stand out more and look less faded. I used a box across the bottom of the table to make
the magazine an eye-catching appeal. I used merging shapes which has allowed me to create the shape which holds my
incentives inside. I have used a different art style to my text stating “future stars” when which when you look at makes the
text stand out more.
• I have used new technologies with Quark for my contents page I know understand how to follow the basic format, and
that you must create an additional page for a contents page due to the first being usable. I inserted my photos which
looked at little bland so I have used colour boxes which has allowed the photos to look more in place and stand out more.
To do this I had to measure the box up with the picture and made it a little bit large so it fit perfectly and I then placed the
biz into the background which allows both features to be seen without one covering the other.
4. The strengths and weakness of front cover
