2. Day 1
ā¢ Today I began my production and started by setting
up a twitter page for my chocolate company. I plan
to use this twitter as a platform for advertising and
outreach. I will upload my completed poster ads,
pictures of my products etc. I added a profile picture
of my logo and a cover picture of some cocoa beans
for the time being but I will change this later when I
have made my own cover picture thatās more
appropriate. I named my account @The_Green_Co
and started by following fairtrade and oatly to get
me started. I donāt plan to add anything else until I
have produced some adverts I can post.
ā¢ I also began production of my chocolate bar in
photoshop, I created a logo and downloaded a font
from dafont to use on my design. I found a textured
background online and edited until I liked the shade
for the background for my posters and products. I
created the little leaves next to the text on my logo
using pixel art and added a drop shadow the same
as the text so it all looked the same.
ā¢ Im not ure if I like my chosed font for my logo, I feel
like it looks too scruffy so I might try and find a
different but similar font for my logo. but I like the
one ive chosen for additional text on my product.

3. Day 2
ā¢ Today I changed the font on my logo ad adjusted the
size I much prefer it to my older one, I think the font
is clearer and looks more professional.
ā¢ I also continued with the production of my chocolate
bar design, I used pixel art to create the trees and
experimented with different shades of green to
discover which looked best together. Originally I was
just going to have my trees all one block colour but I
actually really like the depth the different shades has
given it. It makes it mire interesting and unique.
ā¢ I think m trees need to be re-scaled so they are
larger. Im still considering doing textured trees using
watercolours/inks then scanning them in but im
unsure on how I would create clean cut tree shapes
that I want, I donāt feel like it would look as good and
I donāt wat to spend too much time experimenting
with different textures and not have time to complete
other work.
ā¢ Im happy with the progress I made today and im
hoping I can apply the same colour ideas to other
flavours of my product.
ā¢ Im hoping tomorrow I can finish my first product
and then can create my range of flavours.

4. Day 3 ā¢ Today I finished my first
package design. I started by
changing the colours of my font
and adding the leaf for my
palm oil free text to go in. I
used pixel art to draw the leaf
and then added a drop shadow
to the white text to make it pop
more. i also added the fairtrade
logo to the bottom right.
ā¢ I additionally rounded the
corners by my trees to make
the design softer and more
curved.
ā¢ Then I felt the background
Looked too plain and simple so I
experimented with different back-
Grounds. Firstly I tried using the
stripes that I Experimented with
during My practical research to
give it more texture but I really
didnāt like it so I tried adding lots
of little leaves to the background
Which I liked but still didnāt Look
right so I played around with it,
added black outlines to
the leaves and re-sized and
positioned them
until I was happy they were
spread evenly.
5. Day 4
ā¢ Today, after finishing my first product, I decided to make two other versions in other colours/flavours.
Im hoping tomorrow I can make one more of these designs then I will begin production of my posters.
ā¢ To speed up the process of changing the colours, I used the hue/saturation tool in adjustments to edit
my colours. I did all of these on the same document and organised my work using folders for all my
layers, this makes it a much more organised work space. I really like how these finished products look
especially along side. I think theres a really sturdy design where you can see that they are all the same
brand . I used colour to be eye catching but also to reflect the flavours.
6. Day 5
ā¢ Today I began designing my
special edition chocolate bar. I
chose to do chilli flavour as its
unusual and is associated with
red which is a bold and fun
colour to play with. I replaced
what had previously been
leaves in the background with
little chillies.
ā¢ I felt like the best way to make
it more ālimited editionā was to
make some aspects metallic
like and a little 3D.
ā¢ I used contour, drop shadows
and bevel & emboss to create
this effect.
7. Day 6
ā¢ Today I was
helping tristan
with his
photography so it
didnāt get much
production done
but I had a play
abut with the basic
shapes of my first
poster ad.
ā¢ I used the same
background as my
chocolate bar
wrappers to
establish links and
I will probably try
and use the same
fonts too.
8. Day 7
ā¢ Today I looked a some
new fonts to use on my
poster and found they
looked really good so
tried them on my
products but I felt it
didnāt look as good for
my logo and it didnāt
reflect the organic look I
was going for on my
packaging.
ā¢ I added two pictures of
my product at the
bottom of my poster and
added drop shadows to
make them appear
layered and seperate
from the poster.
9. Day 8
ā¢ Today I began my second poster to try and help me generate more ideas
for my tree poster and establish some more links between my posters and
products.
ā¢ I added a gradient to my ocean to give it more depth and appear less 2d
and boring. I also added bubbles and a shark silhouette to make it more
exciting.
ā¢ I have the same placement of my products in the bottom right corner to
keep a consistent layout between my posters. I tried to use the rule of
thirds and look at the visual hierarchy to draw more attention to certain
parts of the posters.
ā¢ I also played around with the text on my posters and experimented with
different fonts and slogans. I tried emphasizing different words etc and
found that I was happy with my final outcome at the end of the day.
ā¢ I think I made lots of progress today so I just need to finish tweeking my
posters so im 100% happy with them.
I used the brush tool to create paint
brush strokes to make the text pop
out more but also to make it look
scrap book like. I tried different
fonts but I felt the top one in the
green looked better.
I added more detail to the trees and drew then
using the brush tool to make them smooth and
cartoon-like.
10. Day 9ā¢ Yesterday I added texture to my posters by
overlaying watercolours on my block colours
to give them more depth and appear more
hand drawn and personal. I really like how my
tree poster has turned out and I think its
almost finished. I spent time focusing on my
text making sure everything was worded well
and the right things were emphasized. I chose
to make āsaveā and ātreesā larger than ātheā
because the text all looked to uniform and it
looked more like a paragraph than a sentence.
ā¢ When adding an overlay to my sea poster, I found one that looked really cool
and had wave like flicks and edges. I really liked it but it didnāt suit my design
or fit with the theme of both my posters. It was too vibrant and bold and it
didnāt fit in with the shapes I had already created. I found a different
watercolour texture that worked better with my deign and shapes. I then used
that to find a colour for my ātitleā and tried to layout my text in the same way as
I did on my tree poster. I want to have as many links and similarities between
my posters as possible so I added some painbrush strokes the same as my tree
poster and I think it works well but there is still things that need doing before I
finish the posters. Tomorrow I want to finish the posters and begin uploading
posts to my twitter.
11. Day 10
ā¢ Today I spent lots of time playing around with the
layout of my poster. I was aware it wasnāt as strong as
my tree poster so I wanted to focus all my attention
on making sure the layout was just as effective at the
tree one. I tried various different layouts, adding
different things in the background, moving the sea up
and down. I wanted to try and have the page split in
thirds and have the same attention drawn to my text
as on my tree poster but I really struggled and I think
I just went in a big circle of trail and error. Im still
not 100% happy with this poster but I donāt want to
waste any more production time just to come back to
the same conclusion.
I tried doing it landscape but I felt like it
didnāt look as good as portrait and it linked
less with my tree poster. I think if I had
more time I could re design this poster
better to suit landscape and it might have
been more effective.
I found when I added
clouds in he
background it looked
more like a painting
than a promotional
poster. It looked too
busy and distracted
from the text. Ive
found it really hard to
find a balance with
this design.
12. Day 10
ā¢ Today also finished my tree poster. I changed the
hashtag at the bottom and made a few tweeks so
everything was the right side and looked neat. I wanted
to make sure the viewers eyes are drawn to the right
places. I changed the text because I felt like it was
promoting the product more and I was more political. I
also wanted it to link with the context of the poster.
ā¢ I added a lighter and darker colour to this text and
followed the same format on the other poster too so
that āchoose the green coā is the same colour as āsave
the treesā or āsave the seasā with the lighter colour
matching one of the shades already on the poster. This
makes it appear more aesthetically pleasing and
maintain a theme. All the colours compliment
eachother but are also bold and vibrant so they stand
out and draw more attention to the writing using
contrast.
13. Day 11
ā¢ Today I finished off my sea poster. I
deleted some of the sharks, re sized
the text and added a shoal of fish
instead and lowered the opacity so
they appear further away in the
water. I felt like this gave the poster
more texture and depth and it also
is quite subtle so it doesnāt distract
from the text. I removed he birds
from around the text as it looked
crowded and messy.
ā¢ I began exploring websites and how
to create one. I was originally going
to create a template of a website in
photoshop but I thought it would be
better to create my own. I used
squarespace and found a template
that was similar to my design plan
and then began editing.
14. Day 12
ā¢ Today I have worked on my website
exploring different designs and paying
around with layouts. I found the website
quite easy to put together only really
finding complications with the
programing. I decided as well as this to
create a instagram page so I had a broader
outreach and linked my social medias to
my website etc.
ā¢ I also did a little bit of written work but
this still needs to be completed.
15. Day 13
ā¢ Today I made some banners and backgrounds for my website too to
give it a bit more character as its quite simplistic and plain so a bit
of colour makes it seem more fun and inviting. I finished all the
programming and began designing of my website, all my buttons
send you to the right places and do the right thing. Overall im quite
happy with my website and im glad ive found time to put one
together as I think it really pulls my project together.
ā¢ I finished the shop section of my website too. All thatās left is to add
more text and then it will be finished.
ā¢ I created this deign on Photoshop to go beneath my text. I used the
custom shape tool and organized them into a long banner shape
then made the center leaves more transparent so that the text
would pop more and not be drowned in high saturation leaves.
ā¢ The yellow tinted banner has a filter added to mix things up a bit
and it has the twitter hashtag that my company is promoting with a
link embedded into the hashtag to give it really easy access.
16. Day 13
ā¢ I also finally put
some tweets on my
twitter. I posted
tweets that linked
and give context to
my posters then
posted the adverts.
ā¢ I plan to post
similar content on
the instagram too
and more tweets.
ā¢ Im hoping I will
round off all my
production by
tomorrow.
17. Day 14
ā¢ Today I finished off my website and changed all my font to
one as similar as possible to the ones I used on my packaging
and posters so it would seem more consistent. I neatened up a
few bits and now its complete to a standard im happy with.
ā¢ https://clover-plums-p8ej.squarespace.com/config/
ā¢ I also posted on my instagram
and twitter with links to my
website and information about
my company.
18. Day 15
ā¢ Today I have added my promotional posters to my website, taken
screenshots of all my work and a screen recording of my website and
uploaded it to my blogger.
ā¢ I used quicktime player to record my screen.
