On the front cover, it includes a masthead with a unique font, cover lines that don't cross over the subject's face, and a discount splash. However, it only includes one subject image rather than multiple images. The contents page includes section headings and a range of small images rather than few large images. However, it does not include page numbers. Overall, the product challenges conventions in some ways to make the design more interesting, but could be strengthened by improving readability and appearance. Tegan Arthur experimented with creating a magazine front cover and double page spread using Photoshop tools. For the front cover, text tools and digital art images were used to simulate a magazine style. Creating the rough draft helped Tegan learn the Photoshop tools and decide which elements to include in the final product, such as text, images relating to art, and a barcode. For the double page spread, the text wrap tool was used to separate text from images without overlapping. The experiments gave Tegan ideas on layout and elements to incorporate into the final project, like a large initial letter text style and consistent images linking the front cover and double page spread.

3. Production Experiments
- 2. Process • Firstly I researched on internet to find an ocean background, I used the filter “Blur” to help the audience see the information clearly. I found the guy fishing and using the eraser tool I started to erase around the hand and the fishing rod. I chose some Photoshop fonts to use in this magazine and I also added a drop shadow effect in all texts. I found the barcode on internet and used the same as example.
- 3. Reflection • What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product? – I’ll include the style of the font because I liked the way that I positioned the font in the centre of the image. I also liked the simple idea of the layout because I think if the magazine cover be simple, it will be more easy to the audience read and get what exactly will have in this magazine.
